So I was thinking about my Shepnax highschool au, and thinking about what subjects the boyos would be good at and. Idk. I feel like Shepherd would be really good at like math and science (specifically the more mathematical science, like physics).

Like, I get the feeling he probably has dyslexia or something (idk why, just vibes), so he’s probably not the greatest at reading, and because of that, a lot of people think he’s not all that bright. That is, until you give him a calculus equation and he can solve it so quickly with minimal use of the calculator.

Sarnax, on the other hand, is the opposite. He does exceptionally well in subjects such as English, history, and social studies, but struggles with math (am I just projecting? Maybe, you don’t know). So much so that it’s almost embarrassing.

I feel like they would study together a lot. Sarnax would read over Shep’s essays and correct any spelling and grammar mistakes, and Shep would help Sarnax understand his math homework. Sarnax doesn’t judge Shep for his mistakes, and Shep is uncharacteristically patient with Sarnax if he’s having a hard time understanding.

I am. Very normal about them. And I have been thinking about this au a normal amount.

my honest reaction when my 3d animation teacher tells us our next project is to make a 5 minute short film by May 13th

this includes concept art, story outlines, making our own character & prop models, making a set, adding audio, etc etc

(side note: I think he said 5 minutes but I could be very very wrong so take that with a grain of salt)

the most fun thing about being under the trans umbrella is the name changes . whenever i make posts about me i would use "stories with asher" but now my names emmett . its actually so much fun bc i can see how long ive been on here . i dont remember the last time ive used the name asher but i still kept using it as my tag . no clue why but i kept it there . my first name was eren, then it was 2020 and i went down the noun for name rabbithole and it was fern, then i went to asher, then i started going by em in school (closest to b.n.) now im emmett because my friend grace started calling me emmett for fun and it sticked ! sometimes ill see friends who havent seen me in years and they'll call me asher and its HILARIOUS because its like a war flashback. i was crazy emo when i went by asher and now im fun and colorfull and silly and a major nerd! also i was obsessed with the lego movie as a kid and LOVED Emmet (first fixation) so . basically my life has made a full circle ! yay

like i think it's good to like. give the story the words it needs, bc i have seen plenty of fics especially that could've been longer, sometimes an idea NEEDS so many words or you can lose the heart or the pacing or the structure of a work, but also. it's good to edit something down dramatically, it's good to be able to do, to stay under a limit, there is still so much you can do with a word limit........

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

oh my god, you've opened a can of worms, it was 100% one of my high school english teachers, he was the worst teacher I've ever had

a prime example of his bad advice, we had to do a short story and the corrections this man gave me

he wanted me to replace the word 'bully' with a whole phrase like 'someone who causes harm to others' (paraphrasing, this was over 10 years ago can't remember it exactly but it was lengthy)

this was a story from the first person perspective OF a bully, using the corrections my teacher gave would have been SO clunky and out of character

I FOUGHT him on this and he argued that I shouldn't have made it first person because it restricted the language I could use

and I was like yeah, fine, BUT YOU DIDN'T TELL US THAT BEFOREHAND SO HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW???

went home crying out of frustration that day 😂 I still have the story with his corrections! I spotted it in a box while moving house, when I unearth it again maybe I'll post it
