Hiiii <3 I love your Kieran stuff! Could I request a terrifyingly powerful Reader (male, female or enby, I don't care) whose a force in battle but a gentle giant outside? Eri-core or Red-core, tbh. I could see then being multi-type specialist for Fairy, Electric and Ice type Pokemon- maybe with someone cutesy or feminine as their partner Pokemon (like Froslass, Bellibolt, Azumarill or Gardevoir?)

Just Kieran really disliking them because he thinks they're narcissistic due to being a force in battle that doesn't really talk to their opponents too often, only to later realize that not they're just gentle. Or not, you can spin it however you like! I just like your writing :3

Hope you don't mind the rambling at the beginning, I'm not into competitive Pokemon stuff at all but creating cool strategies is still super fun!!

Kieran x Terrifyingly Strong Reader

You don't limit yourself to just one type of Pokemon. Tinkaton is your ace, but you also use Cetitan, Galarian Slowking, Ceruledge, Gyarados, and Garchomp.

Cetitan is a bulky monster who gets the ability Slush Rush, which doubles its speed in the snow. Galarian Slowking can set up snow with Chilly Reception, at which point Cetitan sweeps.

Ceruledge is solid for coverage and gets powerful Ghost and Fire moves. Gyarados and Garchomp are my two personal favorites for double battles, since Gyarados gets Intimidate and is immune to Garchomp's Earthquake. Not to mention Garchomp + Rough Skin + Rocky Helmet is a mean combination.

Tinkaton is the definition of scary and cute, her hammer is made of the parts of another Pokemon! With Gigaton Hammer and Protect, she sweeps everything in her path.

But back to the actual headcanons, Kieran is intimidated as HECK by you. You easily sweep his team whenever they battle, and your neutral expression the whole time makes it feel like you're mocking him. He's so frustrated that he can't win.

He thinks you're just some stuck-up strong trainer, to be honest. You don't talk much, and when you do, it doesn't come off as friendly or warm. He starts to hate you, at first.

...But then, he sees you caring for one of your Pokemon after they get hurt. Your Gallade damages one of its blades, so you do your best to patch it up before taking it to the Pokemon Center for immediate care. The whole time, you're humming a soft melody to soothe your Pokemon's pain. Kieran watches in shock-- it's nothing like the stone-cold Y/N he's used to. You.. actually care about your Pokemon? And you're so gentle with them too. He's amazed.

Kieran finds excuses to hang out with you after that. One of his Pokemon gets hurt, and he immediately seeks you out for help. The Elite Four is super confused because they thought Kieran hated you, but now he's suddenly... not?

Kieran finds that his heart flutters when he listens to your voice. He can't describe the feeling, but he just feels at ease around you. He realizes soon enough that he's fallen in love with you.

Piers X Masc Fairy Type Trainer!

🎤 - Piers isn't really about the whole dark/fairy rivalry. He doesn't really care much either way what Pokemon you train. Fairy types aren't exactly his thing, though. A bit too... pastel for him.

🎤 - He doesn't battle with you personally all that much, he will if you ask, but not without snarkily asking you if you just want an easy sweep, only to give you a massively formidable run for your money with his team despite the type disadvantage.

🎤 - If your aesthetic matches your Pokemon, expect him to give you shit about it once he's more comfortable with you. Hey, he's got nothing against pink, but would it kill you to have some contrast in your outfits? Needless to say you can invite him to coordinate for you anytime.

🎤 - This is the case with anyone he's dating, but though Piers acts aloof and distant, he's dedicated in his own special way. Not huge on PDA, but if you're satisfied with someone nearby just... being, that's what he can offer.

🎤 - You always get free admission to his shows ofc! Piers is a bit shy about his relationships--but can you really blame a musician for wanting to keep such things private? Fans can be nuts. But at some point in his songs he'll always look over at you, maybe gesture in your general direction, some kind of acknowledgement that's vague for both of your sakes, but you both know what it means.

🎤 - Just don't expect him to dedicate any love songs to you. ...Publicly.

🎤 - He's a good guy if you just want a very simple relationship, little pressure to be together all the time, but a strong love when you are. Just a strong love that is quite private and a bit subtly shown, but if you can read him well you know how strong his feelings really are.

🎤 - You guys absolutely share custody of an Impidimp. You teasingly say it has his droopy eyelids. He replies that it has your poor color sense.

🎤 - More than likely, that one Impidimp is going to turn into many. You two are going to become crazy cat men for Impidimp.

🎤 - So while Piers doesn't put much stock in competition or rivalry, expect your relationship to have a lot of banter, eye-rolling, and snark, but that doesn't mean he loves you any less.

GN Reader x Arven 

- No such thing as privacy exist, all his Pokémon have to exist in the same room.

-Will take over the lighthouse, with a bit of a paint job and cleaning it all up to make it a real living space. Not enough space in his dorm room for the two of you and all his Pokémon and yours if you have any!

- Would never admit it but loves going shopping together, loves explaining various berries and vegetables from different regions.

- If the academy ever has the chance to go out of the region, bet he’s going to drag you along with him, of course he’ll ask nicely but this young man wants to try different cuisines. 

- If going too Kalos the first stop is too see Siebold- his idol. Siebold and Arven have a battle: in the kitchen with the aid of their own Pokémon. Good luck you’re the judge but it’s clear that Arven puts more love in his cooking for you then anyone else along with the aid of his partners to help with flavors and cooking. 

- It ends up being a world wide trip once the two of you graduate though from the school. 

- By chance if you’re scared of Pokémon he takes things really easy and Mabosstiff is your new best and slow buddy. The dark type acts much more like an old man even when now healed.

- If you have no Pokémon? Don’t worry it’s not uncommon really not a lot of people at the academy own a Pokémon yet most are their for normal studies as they teach more then just trainers. His gift to you on your first year anniversary is a cute little Fidough caught in a Cherish Ball!

- Originally he was going to catch it in a Love Ball but the little fairy type was stubborn until he used the special pokeball he ended up getting from buying so many things at the market one time.  

- He’s really sweet but sometimes teases a bit too much for anyone’s liking. 

- Caught you once dancing alone and decided then he was going to join in- he’s not a good dancer at all. Though he has a really soothing voice so he’s quite good at singing. 

- Butterfly kisses are his forte, they were designed for Arven only. 

- Bring him a sandwhich- sorry he’ll pick it apart after the one time he got a very questionable sandwhich from Nemona. 

- Dates usually happen outside, inside only if it’s raining. 

- If anyone tries to challenge you while you two are on a date- expect to be carried. Takes the term Run Away a bit too literal- can’t have anyone ruin your time together! 

- Will give you his vest if you’re cold even in the blazing sun, sees you shiver even a bit and on it goes, he just has it on all seasons of the year even if it’s puffy. 

- At first he wasn’t sure about dating at all: still having family problems so it probably takes at least a year after the main events for him to find a little closure. It’s always on ongoing battle - but since you were there for him he’ll be there for you. Long as you’re both handling it together on equal terms.

- Arven is a sweetheart all and all even with his deep past but he’s a very depenable young man and wants to see your smile be it remind him of the setting sun or rising moon.

Spider-Man 2099 + Pokémon hcs (part 1)

First of all I have an uncanny talent of being able to make Pokemon AU out of anything. Second of all, thank you @xinakwans for inspiring me with your post about what Pokémon Xina would have.

Miguel

Ariados

He’s Spider-Man right? He’s gotta have a spider Pokémon. There are a few different spider Pokémon I just think Ariados suits him the best.

Miguel raised Ariados for his research and experiments to re-create Spider-Man’s powers. After the lab accident which gave Miguel his powers, he takes Ariados home with him.

Ariados does not like Miguel at first but they do eventually grow closer and make a great vigilante team.

“Its feet are tipped with tiny hooked claws that enable it to scuttle on ceilings and vertical walls. It constricts its foe with thin and strong silk webbing.” – Pokémon Emerald

Umbreon

Miguel has had Umbreon since he was a kid, when they met it was still an Eevee. He was surprised when it evolved late one night.

Eevee is “The Evolution Pokémon”, I think Eevee might have sparked Miguel’s interest in genetics. Unfortunately, there isn’t much money in being a Pokémon researcher…

Salamence

The year is 2099 and dragons are still really really cool.

Zubat

No real reason for Miguel owning a Zubat, my Miguel plushie just sits next to my Zubat plushie on my window and I think they look cute together.

Xina <3 <3

So I think that Xina is one of the better actual Pokémon trainers, never went pro or anything but took training and battling seriously.

Gengar

Xina traded Miguel for his Haunter, and it evolved into Gengar.

Snorlax

I haven't decided if Xina patiently raised Snorlax from a hungry little Munchlax or is she played a mean flute solo in order to capture it.

Kadabra

Xina planned to trade Kadabra to Miguel so it would evolve into Alakazam.

Starmie

When Xina was young, she would train every day in the pool with Starmie.

Espeon

A while ago someone made a poll asking what kind of pets Xina and Miguel would have. I couldn't quite pin down if they were a dog/cat/lizard/squirrel couple but I knew for sure they were an Espeon/Umbreon couple.

Charizard

Xina and Charizard are really close, with Charizard being Xina’s starter Pokémon raised from a Charmander.

Charizard does not like Miguel. Xina may be willing to forgive Miguel but for Charizard it’s an on-sight flamethrower to the face.

Xina can mega evolve Charizard to Mega Charizard X.

Lyla

Rotom

The “lore” around Rotom in the Pokémon franchise itself is interesting. Rotom is a ghost-type Pokémon that can inhabit and “possess” appliances. Rotom originally seemed to be a sort of mischievous poltergeist, but in the latest entries in the franchise it seems to come with and be an essential working component of some electronics like phones and pcs. The Rotom inside the Pokedex even talks.

So essentially in this AU Lyla is a Rotom. She still takes the form of the Lyla we all know and love but the reason Lyla sometimes feels like a sentient being with thoughts and feelings is because…she is. Inside the box that contains “Lyla” there is a Pokémon.

Miguel had no idea that Lyla was a Pokémon until he brought her to Xina.

Lyla-Rotom is an Electric/Fairy type.

Okay, so I have an issue. I am a mother of two and my oldest is one of *those* trainers. Full pokédex, hundreds of badges, keeps saving the world ever since he turned ten. You know the type

The problem started on my daughter's 7th birthday last week. She has always dreamed of being a dragon-type gym leader and has asked her brother to give her some dragon eggs as a birthday gift this year.

Well, my son thought that was a great idea and gifted her six eggs that she has been running around with constantly. They are currently very close to hatching.

Can you please direct me to any resources on how to make sure my daughter and our home survive the following newborn pokémon: deino, gible, dreepy, frigibax, goomy, and bagon. Should I go catch myself some steel and fairy types?

Truth below and Ideals above. Reading this makes me want to find a drink, so I can only imagine how you must be feeling.

A child that young should not have six Pokemon at all, much less ones as territorial and difficult as Dragons. I delivered a lecture at a conference once about how to approach and handle Dragon-type Pokemon from the perspective of a non-specialist, which you may find and read here.

Unfortunately, I do not believe this will help you. I do not know anything about Frigibax, but frankly, the idea of gifting a child with no Pokemon a Deino, Gible, and Bagon is horrifying. Dreepy and Goomy may be okay, but I would still not risk it.

My first advice would be to stall the eggs' hatching. This is... not something I suggest lightly, I want to be very clear. Ethically, this is sketchy at best, but I believe it better than allowing them to hatch right now. Place the eggs within the Pokemon Storage System- For eggs, this will place them in a state of stasis, so they will not become any closer to hatching.

At that point, find a specialist. An existing Dragon-type Gym Leader, or perhaps simply a specialist Dragon Tamer who is willing to help. They will have to teach your child how to handle dragons, and then you can have the child allow them to hatch.

If you simply catch Pokemon to defeat them, the dragons will see you as a threat, not an authority figure, and this will only make things worse.

If the dragons all hatch at once, I believe there is a serious risk they will view each other as rivals and enemies. However, I am not a specialist in dragon-type behavior.

I am a veterinarian. This is extremely far out of my expertise. Place the eggs in the Pokemon Storage System and then find a dragon specialist, or barring that, your local Pokemon Rangers, immediately.

The 40 x Pokemon

A post for @the-ravenclaw-werewolf ! I hope you like it!

I simply love her mass crossover fic, and it is one that has become something of an inspiration for me in terms of “Watching the series” fics. I haven’t started yet but I have a couple ideas in mind.

One of the things I love doing is giving anime characters pokemon teams and, to show my love for the story, I will be giving pokemon teams to each of the members of the 40!

Some guidelines, while I will do my best, some characters will likely have less than 6 pokemon, mainly due to lack of familiarity with some of the characters. Any Pokemon I pick will not only represent something for the character, but they are Pokemon I can actually picture them having if they were Pokemon trainers.

Right now, I have teams for four characters picked out, and if it gets positive reception, I will do more!

Now, without further ado, let’s get this started with….

1) Killua Zoldyck from Hunter x Hunter

His partner and ace is Pawmot. Not only is it an electric type, but it is also a healer with its signature move, Revival’s blessing, showcasing Killua’s innate, kind nature. Sylveon is here for similar reasons, and I made it shiny to represent Alluka in his life, who is canonically transfemale.

Absol is a Pokémon that is often misunderstood, just like Killua, and also can represent his past as an assassin. It doesn’t hurt that Absol has cat-like features and a similar color scheme to Killua.

Slurpuff is here due to Killua’s love of Chocorobos. I can totally see these two chowing down on some, lol.

Gholdengo may seem like an odd choice but Killua is often associated with his skateboard and Gholdengo is a surfer. Plus, I can see Killua being one of the few patient and determined enough to gather all 999 Gimmighoul coins to evolve his.

Finally, Manectric is totally a Killua pokemon. He also loves dogs and there was a bit of cut content of Killua once having a puppy when he was younger. Sadly, he ended up having to kill it because of his parents.

Mega Manectric is the thunderbolt pokemon and would be the perfect pokemon to be able to keep up with him in Godspeed.

2) Emma from Promised Neverland

Whenever I think of Emma, the first pokemon that comes to mind is Scorbunny. Athletic and fiery, I think it and Emma would be instant friends upon meeting and would help Emma survive her ordeals. It would be a Cinderace by the end of the manga.

Pikachu is also a Pokemon I can see with Emma. A fast, forest dweller and mascot, and it serves as nice common with Killua, who has a Pawmot (aka an evolved Pikachu clone).

Emma screams “dog person” and being the Badass Normal, she deserves a badass, normal dog pokemon. Stoutland would be not only a tracker but also a guard for the younger kids.

Gardevoir represents Emma’s unwavering kindness and empathy. I can see Emma raising it from a Ralts and fostering her with all the kindness in her heart. Gardevoir and Emma also have a tendency to be self sacrificial.

Grimmsnarl may seem like an odd choice, but just because Emma is a kind and compassionate girl doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a dark side. Grimmsnarl, being a dark and fairy type, is the perfect pokemon to represent both aspects of Emma’s character.

Finally, Lanturn. To be honest, I just think Lanturn fits Emma to a T, with both of them having a playful nature and serving as the heart of their teams.

3) Ciel Phantomhive:

Granbull is Ciel’s starter pokemon, and one that represents who he was before the incident and even who he is now. Ciel is a complicated character and both he and Granbull can be scary, but there is a softer side to them.

Dusknoir and Banette represent Ciel now. Dusknoir has one eye like Ciel, and is something of a grim reaper of the pokemon world, making it similar to Sebastian. Banette not only is a ghost pokemon known for its vengeful nature but it’s a toy, or rather a doll.

Larvitar just has bit Ciel vibes. It may evolve one day but I think it staying a Larvitar would be symbolic of Ciel as he is now. Cubone would have been another good choice but I think Larvitar fits better.

Finally, Hisuian Zorua and Plusle represent things that are spoilers but if you know, then you know. I will say that Plusle also connects Ciel with Killua and Emma.

4) Nagisa Shiota:

This team was terribly easy. Serperior and Seviper are here because of Nagisa’s association with snakes.

Weavile represents Nagisa’s talent for assassination and it is also a small and frail powerhouse.

Espeon is a Pokemon that represents Nagisa’s inner kindness and eventual path towards becoming a teacher. I can see Espeon helping Nagisa rally his troublesome students when he is older.

Roserade is a feminine looking pokemon that can be male, and also can fit on a team for one with a talent for assassination.

Finally, Mawile is a Pokémon that looks outwardly cute but has something terrifying about them. Mawile has their huge jaws and Nagisa has a natural bloodlust. It also has the capacity to mega evolve and become a true menace.

Chapter 1

Professor Oak looks towards you as you are the last one to enter the room. There are three other students in his office waiting to be granted the first gift of the Oak’s Club. The blinds let the fall sunlight wash over the professor’s messy desk. Faintly you wonder why he didn’t clean up before the three of you showed up. Probably not a priority for a man that quite recently moved to this region in search of further knowledge. Everything you’ve ever heard or read about him makes you want to ask him a million questions. He’s one of the most accomplished researchers in the country. Which is why you are here before you can even unpack your things at the campus provided housing. Professor Oak chose four students he thinks show exceptional promise.

He invited you here on the recommendation of his colleague, who happens to be your ex boyfriend’s mother. The same ex boyfriend that standing to your left rolling a classic pokeball between his long fingers. Serious is the only way you can describe the look on his face. It is so unlike the normal gentle expression he used to look at you with. The one you’ve loved since childhood. Your stomach drops, sending ebbs of dread through your veins. Of course, you knew you would have to see him soon but you didn’t think it would be quite this soon. The break up wasn’t clean and when he left right afterwards you weren’t sure he was ever going to come back.

The man to your right is a stranger. He is tall with impressive muscles you can see even through his loose fitting shirt. His black hair is pushed off his forehead. He looks like a model you’d see on the billboards in Levincia. The stranger radiates a calm soft energy as he smiles towards you. Something tells you he’s not from this region.

Next to the tall stranger is another man you haven’t met before. He’s a few inches shorter than the other man and has delicate features. His plump lips are pulled back into a smile as he looks around.

“Ah, you must be YN.” Professor Oak says letting his eyes drift over the four students in front of him. “This is Yoongi, but as you're from the same town I’m sure you already know that. This is Namjoon. He’s a second year student, originally from Kanto and this is Jimin. He’s also a second year student originally from Johto.”

The old man points to the tall man as he says Namjoon and the shorter man when he says Jimin.

“Nice to meet you.” Namjoon greets, his voice far lower than what you expected. The tone almost makes you forget about the man on your other side. “I’m studying growth and illnesses in Grass-Poison type Pokemon.”

“Nice to meet you, YN!” Jimin says his voice is soft and warm. There’s something almost angelic about him. “I’m studying growth in Grass and Fairy type Pokémon.”

“Nice to meet you.” You say without glancing at Yoongi. If you look at him you aren’t sure you will be able to hold it together. This summer was supposed to be about getting over him and you thought you succeeded. Obviously, you’re wrong if his presence is making you feel this way. Almost as if you are right back at square one. “I’m studying Battle Strategy and Training.”

“I’m also studying Battle Strategy and Training.” Yoongi says in an almost monotone voice like he would rather be anywhere else in the world.

The professor holds out a single pokeball with both hands. You take the pokeball, holding it gently as if this is the first time you’re holding one. In fact you have one on your belt right now with your Luxio, Spark, who you’ve been raising for several years.

“As a welcome gift to Paldea University and the Oak’s Club I have a Pokemon from my home region. This Charmander is ready for a new adventure and you are the perfect trainer for that task.”

“Thank you so much, Professor Oak. It’s an honor to finally meet you.”

The old man smiles at you before he continues speaking.

“Please meet me at the stargazing event by 7:30. The Dean has asked that I introduce you to the students before his welcome speech.”

He nods before turning to walk back to his desk and take a seat. Without another word the boys file out of the room and you follow closely behind. Yoongi darts away from the direction of the dorms you know he’s staying in. Cabo Poco is too far away to comfortably commute from.

Namjoon and Jimin follow beside you, not saying anything for a moment as they look at their newly acquired pokeballs. There is so much you are wondering about each of them, but blurting all your thoughts is surely not the right choice. When you reach the lobby of the main building Namjoon turns to you.

“If you ever need help Jimin and I live in the Indigo building.” He says stowing his pokeball away. “I’d offer to show you around but I’m supposed to meet my friend soon. See you later, YN.”

Namjoon walks through the large front door and you see him descend the many steps into town.

“I have to go too, but let me get your number. That way if you have a question about something I can help you out!” Jimin says holding out his phone to you.

Quickly, you type in your information and he smiles brightly. There’s no anxiety when around Jimin. It’s like he’s washing a calm aura over you.

“I’ll see you later, Jimin.” You say before starting the walk back to your dorm.

You will need to get supplies in town later, but for now you need to unpack your room. Though your hometown is one of the closest towns you’ve only been to Paldea University one time. On your phone you follow the map to find your building. You are so glad your mom made you save the map despite your protest.

You’ve been assigned to the Violet building. There are eight buildings a short walk away from where classes are held with studio style apartments for students to stay. Approximately 300 students live in each of the buildings named for different colors. Pink and Violet for first years, Indigo and Blue for second years, Green and Yellow for third years and Red and Orange for fourth years.

Many students are walking the same path as you. When you reach the large courtyard between the buildings you stop staring up at the tall buildings. As their names suggest each building is a different bright shade. In the center of the courtyard is a statue of Uxie, a legendary psychic Pokemon, surrounded by a fountain.

Before you go inside you let your new Pokemon out of their ball. The Charmander walks towards you tentatively sniffing the air. You squat down to their level holding out your hand in a non threatening gesture. They nuzzle their snout against your hand and you giggle.

“Should I give you a name buddy?” You stroke your hand across the back of your Charmander’s head and they make a positive sounding vocalization. “How about Sriracha?”

The flame on the tip of their tail wavers for a moment indicating happiness. Genuine happiness fills your heart knowing you get to raise another Pokemon. You’ve always wanted a fire Pokemon but they aren’t common in the area you were allowed to explore as a child. Your parents only allowed you to keep Spark. They wanted to make sure you really knew how to take care of a Pokemon and now you are ready for a whole team.

There isn’t a Fire type gym in this region but you’ve seen videos of the ones in other regions. For as long as you can remember your goal has been to become a champion then start a Fire type gym. Most of the battles you’ve done were with your classmates but you are determined to find more difficult competition here at Paldea University. Yoongi has been your only real competition for years. The two of you were the only ones who took battle strategy class seriously. It makes sense, in this world not everyone can be a top trainer.

Sriracha follows you closely with each step you take towards the Violet Building. When you get into the hallway you decide to call them back to the pokeball. There are a lot of people roaming around. Sriracha doesn’t protest, seeming nervous about all the people as well. You hope you can grow a strong bond with this Charmander.

When you get to the door with your name on it you take a deep breath before unlocking the door with your school ID. There is a small hallway leading into your room where you’ve put a rack for your shoes. You walk a few more steps inside. To your left is the kitchen, bathroom and your walk in closet. Kitchen is a strong word; it's mostly just a sink, a hot plate and a small refrigerator. The bathroom has a shower tub combo as well as a toilet, sink and mirror. It’s quite spacious considering.

To the right there is a six by six cube bookcase at the end of your bed. It acts as a nice separation from the other side of the room. Your parents left you a light pink couch and a TV with a stand that has extra storage space. It's the one that used to be in your room at home. You don’t imagine you will spend much time watching TV but the thought is nice. There is also a desk provided by the school.

One of your parents made your bed but left the rest of your things packed away. You are thankful for that. The last thing you need is to spend the rest of the day searching for your things. You sit on the couch unzipping your largest suitcase. It takes nearly two hours but eventually all your clothes and belongings find their new homes. Before going down into town for the rest of the items you need you rest on your bed.

Taking in your new surroundings you sigh wishing there was something to distract you. Seeing Yoongi after so long brought up a flood of emotions you thought you would have more time to process. Why would he accept an invitation to the Oak’s Club when he must’ve known his mother recommended you? You’ll have to see him at stargazing and every Oak’s Club event after that.

The stargazing event Professor Oak mentioned is when on the first night all the students gather on the lawn together to look at the stars. It's a good way for people to mingle and meet each other. Your parents met on their first night at this very school and all these years later they are still happily together. Is it foolish to hope that maybe the same will happen for you? But you don’t want to settle down. Being the top champion has always been your dream. Couldn’t a lover potentially get in the way?

After resting for twenty minutes you make the trek down the many stairs that lead to Mesagoza. Spark joins you on the walk bringing you a sense of comfort in this new environment. Lots of students are roaming around town stocking up on essentials and exploring.

Once you’ve purchased all the items you need a delicious looking food stand comes into view. You purchase your food and round a corner to find a place to sit. It’s only after you’re seated that you see your ex sitting just a few tables away. You decide to ignore him and dig into your food happily. Spark lies at your feet like a guard as if he can feel your unease.

When you are wiping the corners of your mouth the chair in front of you scrapes across the ground and Yoongi sits down. He looks less serious than before but something is still different.

“Hi, YN.” He says, folding his hands on the table as he looks at you.

“What do you want?” You say harshly meeting his eyes.

“Can we please talk? I swear I didn’t have a—”

Spark is glowing like he’s charging himself to shock Yoongi. You hold up a hand to your ex boyfriend and recall your pokémon to his ball. The last thing you need is to have to explain to the Dean why your Pokémon is shocking people.

“I don’t want to talk to you, right now.” You sigh, closing your eyes for a moment to collect your thoughts. “You broke up with me out of the blue then left the region for months with no explanation.”

Yoongi nods his head before standing. He takes a few steps away before turning around and scanning you with his eyes. His voice is soft when he speaks.

“If you ever want to hear my explanation, come find me. Oak’s Club is going to make us be around each other and I’d rather we were on good terms.”

Yoongi walks away without a further word. Part of you really wants to know what he has to say, but the other part of you knows you should forget about him. You miss Yoongi but how could you ever trust him after what he did?

Back in your dorm room you put away your new items. You let Spark and Sriracha out of their Pokéballs. They get along well immediately much to your surprise. Usually, it takes a little while for different types to warm up to each other.

It doesn’t take you long to get ready for the stargazing event so you decide to eat a snack while watching TV. Spark curls up on your lap while Sriracha stays on the floor watching curiously. You vaguely wonder if they have ever seen a TV before.

At 7:15 someone knocks on your door right as you are getting ready to leave. Namjoon, Yoongi and Jimin are standing in front of your door. Seeing them standing side by side in front of you shows off their height difference. Namjoon is at least four inches taller than Yoongi and Jimin.

“Hi, YN!” Namjoon says cheerily. “I thought we could all walk over together since campus might still be a little confusing for you two.”

You greet them before stepping outside and closing the door behind you. Namjoon leads the way asking how you’ve been finding things so far.

“Not too bad.” You glance at Yoongi who once again looks serious. “I introduced my Pokémon to each other and it went really well.”

This captures both Yoongi and Jimin’s interest; they look at you with curious faces. Namjoon also looks towards you.

“You have another Pokémon?” Namjoon asks clearly surprised and you can tell that he’s excited to hear what you have to say.

“She has a Luxio named Spark.” Yoongi says before you can speak for yourself.

Namjoon almost looks annoyed that Yoongi answered for you, but quickly bounces back to ask questions. For the rest of the walk over Namjoon and Jimin talk to you about Pokémon. Yoongi doesn’t join the conversation despite having just as much to say. You know he does because you’ve talked to him for hours about Pokémon.

“Oak’s Club hello!” Professor Oak says when arrive. The four of you greet him, watching as he grabs something from a nearby table. He holds a stack of four jackets. You can see a small logo of a pokeball with Oak’s Club curved over the top. Below the ball is Yoongi’s name. “I had these jackets made so you can match while representing our club.”

Professor Oak hands each of you a bomber style jacket and you see that he’s personalized them with your names. On the right sleeve you see a Charmander. Each of you has the Pokémon you were given embroidered on the sleeve.

“Thank you so much!” You say running your fingers over the material.

As you wait for students to start showing up Professor Oak asks about your new Pokémon. You learn Jimin named his Cottonee Candy Floss, Yoongi named his Squirtle Crush and Namjoon named his Bulbasaur Bom. Professor Oak seems excited you decided to name your Pokémon. He believes it’s an important part of bringing a trainer closer to their Pokémon.

As more students are finding spots on the grass Professor Oak tells the four of you that he’s going to talk about his plans for the year as well as why he came here. After he speaks each of you is going to introduce yourself to the students and say a little about yourself.

The four of you slip into your matching jackets as Professor Oak steps onto the makeshift stage and speaks into the microphone.

“Hello everyone, my name is Professor Samuel Oak. I am from Pallet Town in the Kanto region. Moving here is the next step in furthering my research and helping nurture the budding researchers and trainers of this university. I’m excited to introduce you to the Oaks Club. A new club this year with individuals handpicked by me. Each of these students has shown exceptional potential in their chosen field with enthusiastic recommendations from my colleagues.” With over 2,000 students watching, Professor Oak is as calm and cool as when he was speaking to just the four of you. “During this year I will meet weekly with these students to discuss a variety of topics as well as give them hands-on experiences. We will be holding benefits throughout the year to raise money for different departments here at Paldea University. In winter we will take a trip to my home region in preparation for the spring excursion.”

A trip to Kanto? Excitement floods your body dreaming about what that trip could be. Professor Oak is one of the most well connected researchers in the world. You can only imagine what kind of knowledge and training he could arrange for you. Your eyes turn to your other club members. Namjoon doesn’t look as excited as you’d expect him to be. Shouldn’t he be excited to return home?

Professor Oak waves the four of you over. You follow them on to the stage and Jimin is the first to introduce himself. He looks confident like he’s spoken before this many people hundreds of times.

“Hello, my name is Jimin Park. I'm a second year research science student with a focus in the growth and evolution of Grass and Fairy type Pokémon. I am originally from Cherrygrove City in the Johto region. My goal is to better understand why grass and fairy types grow the way they do and what outside sources can effect that growth.”

The students clap and look genuinely interested. You are thrilled to be around people who care about Pokemon as much as you do. Most of the students look excited to be here and you can hear many of them talking as Namjoon steps up to the microphone.

“Hi, my name is Namjoon Kim. I’m a second year research science student with a focus in growth and illnesses in Grass-Poison type Pokemon. I am originally from Saffron City in the Kanto region. My goal is to find cures for common illnesses faced by Grass-Poison Pokemon.” His dimples show as he speaks into the microphone.

Yoongi steps forward when Namjoon steps back. He seems calm enough but you know he doesn’t like speaking in front of people like this. His tongue darts out to lick the corner of his mouth before he speaks.

“I’m Yoongi Min. I’m a first year battle strategy and training student. I am from Cabo Poco here in Paldea. My goal is to become the Pokémon League Champion.”

A roar of gasps sweeps through the crowd. It’s a big goal and everyone knows how hard it is to achieve. Even you are a little shocked that he's saying these words to so many people. Yoongi has told you he wants to battle the gym leaders but he never expressed interest in being champion. Contrary to popular belief those things aren’t mutually exclusive. Taking on the champion title requires more responsibility than just battling. Has something changed his mind in the time he was gone?

Yoongi steps back and you take his place smiling nervously as you look over the crowd.

“Hi, I’m YN. I’m a first year battle strategy and training student. I am also from Cabo Poco and my goal is to become the Pokémon League Champion this spring.”

More gasps and a few cheers can be heard from your position at the front. The reigning champion has been in his position for six years. Many have tried and failed to beat him. It would be good for the school’s reputation if one of their students finally beat the Kai Huening. You are confident that you will be that one.

The four of you move away from the microphone and find a spot in the front. The Dean starts his speech talking about the history of this school and all the things he hopes the students can accomplish this year. Trying to pay attention is harder than it should be. Your mind is racing with the possibilities this year will bring. If only it was already spring so you could start the real adventure.

When the dean finishes his speech Yoongi walks away and students surround your group. They all want to know how you go into this club and what they can do to make sure they get in next year. Obviously, none of you have any real advice. Still you tell them to make themselves stand out.

After about fifteen minutes of talking music begins playing over loudspeakers. This is your cue to lie on your back and gaze at the stars as the name of the event suggests. A few staraptor fly overhead as you watch the bright stars light up the night sky. Namjoon starts pointing out constellations and telling you stories relating to them. He reminds you of Yoongi in the way he seemingly knows a lot about a variety of topics.

When you get back to your dorm you quickly get ready for bed and collapse into the soft comforter. Despite your excitement you fall asleep quickly dreaming of battling the random faces you saw today.

On Monday morning your alarm wakes you an hour and a half before your first class. You stretch your fingers to the sky before getting off your bed. The process of getting ready only takes thirty minutes leaving you plenty of time to head to the dining hall for breakfast.

Sriracha follows closely behind you as you navigate the array of breakfast foods available. Monday, Wednesday and Friday you have three classes: Intro to Theory of Battle Strategy at 9AM, Intro to Pokemon Human Relations at 11AM and Intro to Battle Training at 2PM. This schedule gives you plenty of time so won’t have to worry about sprinting to the next class.

Peacefully, you eat breakfast alone before heading off to your first class of the day. The lecture hall is nearly half full when you arrive. You opt for a seat in the second row several seats away from anyone that is already here.

Everyone is minding their business looking at their books or phones. The second option sounds more fun to you right now. Instagram is the first app you open where you are greeted by a picture of Kai Huening. He is standing in the snow with his Avalugg, who is just as tall as he is, smiling like there is no place he’d rather be. Montenevera, Kai Huening’s hometown, is one of the places you are looking forward to visiting the most. You’ve never had a reason to travel there but it looks beautiful and you are interested to learn about the place that raised one of the greatest pokemon trainers of recent decades.

After a few moments of scrolling you look around the room. More students have taken their seat and as your eyes scan you don’t see anyone you know. Maybe, one or two of them talked to you yesterday at stargazing but you can’t remember.

“Hi, you’re YN, right?” A girl with shiny eyes and a beautiful small face says as she sits beside you. When you nod and she continues speaking. She has short black hair with bangs covering her forehead in a way that really suits her. “I didn’t get a chance to talk to you yesterday. I’m Chaewon Kim. I live down the hall from you.”

“Nice to meet you!” You reply and are about to ask her where she’s from when the professor takes her place at the front of the room.

Nothing very important is discussed during class but still you take diligent notes. If there is anything useful being said you want to make sure you have a note of it. Chaewon falls into step beside you as you walk towards the library. With little prompting she tells you she is from Alfornada, home of the Psychic gym, and is here to study battle strategy and training. There are two gym leaders in Alfornanda and the younger one is the same age as you and Chaewon. You wonder if they know each other, but decide not to ask just yet.

In the library the two of you find a table and start comparing schedules. She is in all the same classes as you. Chaewon speaks so brightly you can’t help but feel happy when speaking to her. You are happy to keep talking to her about pokemon and whatever else you can think of until it's time for Pokemon Human Relations.

When you enter your next class Yoongi is sitting in the third row on the left. You guess you knew he would be in at least one of your classes but you hoped it wouldn’t happen. Chaewon starts moving towards Yoongi and you tap her arm.

“Let’s sit over here.” You say jerking your head in the other direction. Chaewon looks confused for a moment but follows you to the other side of the classroom. Under normal circumstances you wouldn’t volunteer information about yourself but something about Chaewon makes you know she is going to be here by your side for a while. “That guy over there is my ex.”

“Isn’t he in the Oak’s Club too? That must be awkward.” She whispers eyes briefly darting towards your ex dressed in an oversized black hoodie and ripped jeans. “Sorry, maybe I shouldn’t have said that.”

“No, it’s okay. I don’t think it’s going to be easy.” You say keeping your voice low on the off chance Yoongi can hear you from the other side of the room. You pull a notebook from your bag and settle into the seat. “It's kind of complicated.”

The professor begins class as Chaewon is starting to reply. Chaewon cuts herself off and gives her full attention to the front of the room. Much like your last class the time is spent going over the key concepts you will be covering in this course. You can feel Yoongi’s eyes trained on you and a quick glance confirms that he is in fact watching you. It’s much harder to forget his existence and what he did to you when he’s in the same room as you.

“Do you want to get lunch?” You ask, trying to get out of class as quickly as possible.

“Sure!” She pulls out her phone as the two of you walk towards the dining hall. “Isn’t the food so much better than you expected?”

Chaewon and you fall into a conversation about the different foods you’ve tried so far. Once you’ve made it through the line and chosen your food you sit at a table by the window. You tuck in to your food admiring the view until a sweet voice interrupts your train of thought.

“Do you mind if I sit here?” Jimin asks with a smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. “I’m Jimin Park.”

He directs the last part towards Chaewon as he sits down next to you. Jimin includes both of you as he asks how your very first classes were. He seems pleased when you tell him it wasn’t hard and tells you how his professors just dived straight into the material. You almost wish your professors had done the same so there was less room in your brain to think about your ex boyfriend.

The three of you talk about your hometowns over lunch and what you are looking forward to. Chaewon and Jimin are following you out to one of the front lawns when Chaewon says something that surprises you. Though maybe it shouldn’t.

“I want to beat the Elite Four.” She holds her head tall and confident when she says this.

Battle Strategy and Training as a major isn’t always about being the best trainer in the region. There are a multitude of things a person can do with that degree. Nothing she’s said in the last few hours of knowing her would leave you to think she would want to battle them. Usually people are very upfront with that. In your experience it’s something people mention in the first twenty minutes of knowing someone. Trainers like you want people to know they think they are good enough to take on that challenge.

“That’s a really tough challenge.” Jimin says releasing his Cottonee from his ball. Candy Floss rests on Jimin’s lap letting out a happy noise. “The winter tournament alone is going to be tough competition.”

The winter tournament is to determine who has the honor of representing Paldea University in challenging the gym leaders. Of the sixteen best in the school there are only two winners. In order to qualify for the tournament you have to be recommended by a staff member and show above average battling capability. The top champion of the battles gets $7,000 and a basket filled with useful items for their adventure. Technically other students can still try to face the gym leaders, but they usually don’t. If they can’t even win against their peers it’s unlikely they would be able to defeat even the first gym leader.

“You think we don’t know that?” You ask leaning back onto your elbows in the grass letting the sun wash over your face. “You can’t accomplish this dream without an incredible amount of hard work.”

Chaewon smiles, being glad to have someone who understands her. Nothing about this is easy but it’s what makes your whole body feel excited. Raising, training and battling pokemon is what gives you the biggest sense of accomplishment and joy in your life. There is nothing in this world that you want to do more.

“If I don’t make the cut this year I will just train even harder for next year.” Chaewon says brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. She pulls a pokeball from her bag and a Seel appears. Sriracha starts shaking their ball so you let them out and they immediately start playing with Chaewon’s pokemon. “This is Pearl.”

Jimin explains his whole process of naming his pokemon and you follow up by saying the name just felt right. Your method of naming is much closer to Chaewon’s from how she explains Pearl getting her name. It's nice talking to someone who isn’t Yoongi about pokemon. A whole new perspective from two people who grew up in two places very different from your own.

“Jimin, what made you come all the way over here?” You ask, realizing you never got around to asking him that on move in day.

“There’s more opportunities for me here.” Jimin says picking at the grass under his hand. You wonder how many times he’s been asked this question since he started here last year. It must be a lot. You hope he isn’t tired of answering it. “Cherrygrove is a very small town. I could have gone to the bigger cities of my region, but none of them excited me the way Paldea does. I’ve found a lot of good things here so far.”

“I always knew I would come here.” You say looking up to the sky. “My parents met here. My journey to becoming champion was always supposed to start here.”

Chaewon’s eyes widen and she vigorously nods her head like she’s had the same thought. This launches you and her into a conversation about who your parents are. Her parents own the Seabreeze Cafe in Alfornada and have been together since they attended school here. You share some information about your parents and Jimin interrupts you.

“Like the researchers?” Jimin perks up keenly when you say your parents' names.

“Yes, do you know their work?”

Both of your parents are fairly well known pokémon researchers but for different things. Your father has spent the majority of his career studying feeding habits in grass and bug pokemon while your mother studies and practices medicine on large pokemon. She has a particular fondness for fire types which she has passed onto you.

“Of course! Your fathers paper on the long term effects of PokePuffs on combee’s really got me interested in pokemon nutrition.”

You can tell Jimin wants to ask a million questions but he restrains himself. You’ll have to remember to give him your father’s email later. He would love to talk with a passionate student about his research.

Intro to Battle Training is a bit longer than your other classes. When you enter the classroom you see many of the same faces from your first two classes. Notably, your ex boyfriend is absent and for that you are thankful. Kai Huening’s younger sister, Bahiyyih, is in this class. You recognize her from photos on Kai’s instagram even though it looks like she’s giving herself a hard rebrand in the last few months. It completely slipped your mind that she’s the same age as you.

This class goes much like your others with the professor explaining key concepts and his class structure. The first few weeks will be spent entirely in the classroom. After midterms you will spend half of the class time outside or in battle areas implementing the skills you’ve learned.

He gives you one homework assignment due by the next class: Battle a trainer and write a paper detailing the points that could be improved upon based on the training categories he briefly introduced. He ensures the class the required textbook will expand on each category.

It’s been a long time since you battled a trainer. Spark has mostly fought wild pokemon and you’ve yet to battle with Sriracha. Yoongi has been your only real competition for years. Finding someone that challenges you the same way he does will not be easy. Though Bahiyyih might give you a run for your money. She was raised battling the current champion after all.

You head back to your dorm alone planning on studying for a little while. As soon as the door closes behind you, tiredness overwhelms you. After removing your shoes you make a beeline for your bed and fall asleep on top of the blanket.

Light is still streaming through your window when you wake from your nap. Quickly, you check the time and decide to go for a walk. It’ll be good to familiarize yourself with the surrounding era.

On your way out you see Namjoon playfully spraying his Bulbasaur with a squirt gun. You keep on your path not disturbing the cute moment.

The large gates that surround the school automatically open when you scan your student ID. You let Spark roam free as you walk away from the school. He seems happy to be outside but checks over his shoulder every few minutes to make sure you are still there.

Tall grass adorns each side of the path where you can see small wild pokemon roaming. You walk for nearly twenty minutes finding yourself close to the edge of the river. Your eyes scan the area for a moment before one pokemon in particular catches your eye.

According to your Pokédex app Azurill is a round, blue mouse Pokémon. It has circular ears with pink insides and there are two white dots on its cheeks. Azurill has a thin, black, zigzagging tail and a large blue ball at the end about the same size as its body.

The ball is bouncy and packed with the nutrients it needs to be able to grow. The ball can also be used as a flotation device. It can be seen bouncing and playing on this rubbery tail. The tail can also be spun around like a lasso. When the tail is thrown, the body can go as far as 33 feet. Though Azurill is typically docile, it swings the big ball on its tail to smash into opponents bigger than itself when angered. It lives at the water's edge, where they gather to splash around for fun on sunny days.

You approach a lone Azurill trying to sneakily capture it without drawing attention to yourself. Reaching into your bag your fingers find a classic pokeball and grip it tightly. Spark stays close to your side patiently watching as you fling your ball towards the pokemon. The Azurill goes into the ball, shaking it aggressively before breaking free. The pokémon bounces seeming angered by your attempt.

“Spark, can you help me catch a pokemon?” You ask planting your feet onto the lush grass with determination.

He lets out a happy cry nodding his head. Spark loves to help you in any way that he can. His posture is rigid as he wants for your command. It’s perfect that you stumbled upon a type that’s weak to electric. Not that this should be a particularly difficult battle for the pokemon that you’ve been training for years.

“Spark, use thunder shock!”

Your loyal Luxio digs his claws into the ground harnessing the electrical energy running through his body. Spark jumps into the air, bright light surrounding his form, shooting a large bolt of lightning into the air. The wild pokemon bounces into the air when the bolt makes an impact. The Azurill’s muscles are frozen by the electricity and they are floating in the air until Spark backs off at your request. The Azurill falls to the ground trying to muster the energy to fight back, but they can’t even lift their head.

You throw the pokeball again, hitting your target. The ball twitches instead of shaking and you hold your breath. Your heart races while you wait to see if the Azurill will escape. The ball stills on the ground and you retrieve it. A smile spreads across your face. A new pokemon for you to nurture.

You lean down circling your arms around Spark’s neck when you are sure the electrical charge has diminished. He rubs his head on your cheek and a giggle bubbles past your lips. You reach into your bag for a treat and hold your palm out flat while you praise Spark. Your Luxio gently pulls the treat into his mouth with an appreciative hum.

One of your greatest goals for this year, besides becoming champion of the pokemon league, is to create a bond like the one you have with Spark with all of your pokemon. It was easy to bond with Spark, but you know that might not be the case for future catches. Each pokemon is unique with their own personality, likes and dislikes.

Stomach growling, you decide to head back towards campus planning on going to the dining hall. When you are nearing the gates to the school you hear someone. When you turn you see Bahiyyih Huening and a smaller girl you don’t recognize. You recall Spark and hide behind a tree just close enough so you can hear what they are saying.

“You’ll never live up to Kai’s legacy!” The small girl says as her Magikarp tries to use tackle on Bahiyyih’s Pachirisu. The Magikarp looks like it's been shocked already and the tackle doesn’t hit very hard. “You’re always going to live in his shadow and you’re not even interesting like Lea. Just a boring student who brings shame to the Huening family.”

“You shouldn’t speak to her like that.” You say popping out from behind the tree. You can’t stand to hear another ridiculous word come from that girl's mouth. “She’s literally beating you. Your Magikarp is one hit away from being unable to battle.”

Bahiyyih looks over her shoulder and you can tell these words are affecting her more than she wants to show. She takes a deep breath and turns back to the battle at hand.

“I am my own person and I am a much more skilled trainer than you.” Bahiyyih says without a waver in her tone. “Kepi, use Thunder Shock!”

Her pokemon does as she commands and you were right, the Magikarp is unable to battle when Bahiyyih tells her pokemon to back off. The other girl picks up her pokemon and runs away without another nasty word.

“Hi, you must be YN. I’m Bahiyyih Huening.” Bahiyyih says scooping her pokemon off the ground and into her arms.

Bahiyyih has bleached her long beautiful hair giving it a soft blonde color. She is wearing a black tank top with her hometown’s name written on it and black ripped jeans. Her chunky black boots give her at least another inch of height making her tower over you.

“Nice to meet you.” You say studying the many piercings decorating her ears. “Does this happen a lot?”

She lets out an unamused laugh and sighs before she replies. Her words are slightly muffled from pushing her face into her Pachirisu’s fur.

“Yeah, it's happened three times since I got her last week.” She looks up at you as she says the next sentence. “I can show them how wrong they are but it still hurts knowing that these people have preconceived ideas about me because of my siblings.”

Bahiyyih changes the subject as the two of you begin walking towards the gate. She asks you about your classes and you realize she is actually in all your classes, not just the last one. Bahiyyih talks fondly of battling and is excited to face even more of her classmates.

“The best thing about being here,” she says once the two of you enter the dining hall and are filling your plates. “is that it's warm. At home there is snow on the ground 365 days a year. I had to buy a whole new wardrobe when I moved.”

“I really like your style.” You say loading noodles onto your plate.

Bahiyyih smiles and you can tell that it means a lot to her. Maybe she was nervous about her new style, but it genuinely suits her nicely. When your plates are full you look for a table but before you can sit down you spot Jimin waving you over.

Jimin is sitting with Namjoon and a handsome man you don’t recognize. You sit next to Namjoon with Bahiyyih right across from you. The stranger quickly introduces himself as Taehyung Kim, a second year healing major with a focus in music therapy. Taehyung is from Azalea Town in the Johto region and decided to come here because the music therapy program here is far more advanced. He and Jimin became friends last year when they were in Pokemon Human Relations together. They bonded over both growing up in Johto. They lived fairly close to each other but never managed to run into each other until they came to Paldea University.

Much to her dismay the boys already know who Bahiyyih is and aren’t surprised that her major is Battle Strategy and Training. To their credit though, not a single person asks anything about her brother. Instead Taehyung starts telling everyone a story about the time he saw a wild Gyarados that almost capsized his fishing boat.

When Taehyung finishes his story it seems that Jimin has told Namjoon who your parents are. He tells you how much he loves a very specific paper of your mothers. You feel proud knowing your new friends respect and are deeply interested in the hard work your parents do. At the same time you don’t want to talk about them all the time.

“Did you catch a new Pokemon?” Namjoon asks, looking at your three pokeballs where there used to be two.

“Just before I met Bahiyyih I caught an Azurill down by the river.”

An excited roar takes over your table as they want to know every little detail. At this moment you are so content talking about your favorite thing in the world.

Pokémon AU! Iguro Obanai

“Lord of the Poisons~ welcome him, Iguro Obanai~! He’ll wear down your Pokémon with deadly poisons and drown out your chances of winning~! The one and only Poison Elite Nine”

Type of Pokémon

Obanai uses Poison-type and he would be a Elite Four member(or Elite Nine as to fit the Hashira)

Kaburamaru would be a Shiny Ekans(as Shiny Ekans are the closest to white, small snake Pokémon you can get)

Obanai uses Poison-types solely because Kaburamaru is a Poison-type

Obanai’s choice of his league team is the following in exact order;

Seviper, Scolipede, Drapion, Toxicroak, Crobat & Nidoqueen

Nidoqueen is Obanai’s ace and strongest of his six. The reason Nidoqueen was chosen over Nidoking is as a attempt, to try cure Obanai of his fear over women

Nidoqueen is practically Obanai’s starter Pokémon, gifted from the Master, and she has special IVs and access to a Mega transformation

Whilst all the other five Pokémon on his team are self-found

Type of Trainer

Obanai is extremely strict and tough on his Pokémon. He suspects them to follow his commands with no hesitation and he won’t take shit. If they purposefully disobey him, he’ll punish them

By putting them in the PC at the Pokecentre for a few hours so they learn their lesson

As a Elite Four/Nine, Obanai is one of the nine most powerful Pokémon trainers in Japan and his training schedule reflects this

Obanai uses direct counteractive moves to get around his Pokémon’s weaknesses. Every one of his Pokémon can fight a ground-type or a psychic-type

Kaburamaru is not a battle Pokémon, kept out as a detection and security alarm as his senses are refined. Many shiny collectors try to buy Kaburamaru off Obanai

Anytime Obanai is out of the Tokyo Plateau, he is exploring the forests for specific berries and natural healing to support to defence items to be held by his Pokémon for additional help, alongside his two allowed Super Potions

Obanai is not favouritistic towards any of his six team but with his ace Nidoqueen, he is slightly less tough on as she is his best fighter

Obanai’s main strategy up against enemies is the poisoning status condition. He uses Poison Jab or Cross Poison and once he has inflicted poison, he mixes inbetween offence and defence until the enemy Pokemon faints from poison

However. Obanai is very grateful of and protective over his Pokémon. The moment even just one is injured or fainted, he either rushes it to a pokecentre or uses his own supplies to heal it

Kaburamaru is the only Pokémon that stays out constantly. His team are usually sleeping in their pokeballs unless summoned, Obanai believes they should preserve their strength if not being used

Obanai doesn’t nickname his Pokémon. They all are called by their species like Sanemi. He may shorten down their names at times, as when he called Nidoqueen; “Nido” but that’s it

Fun Facts

Obanai’s room in the Tokyo Plateau is a very forest-like environment, full of poison-type Pokémon in the trees. He seems to be fine staying in the room as the Pokémon must be docile

Obanai collects Fairy-type Pokémon to give to Mitsuri. She has a few gift Fairy-types from Obanai and the only non-fighter Pokémon she has shown out, the Alcremie is also from Obanai

Obanai prefers using Nidoqueen and Crobat when having to battle Legendaries

Obanai is apart of the ‘big three’ of the Elite Nine members, alongside Gyomei and Muichiro

Yes. I still purposefully picked Crobat whilst being fully aware of it’s friendship evolution method. Obanai and his Crobat have a close relationship than can rival his with Nidoqueen

Obanai’s Nidoqueen is clingy and playful. She likes making friends but she has a very serious side and can be really cruel. She is very attached to Obanai and gets jealous over Mitsuri

Obanai’s Crobat is a quiet, monotone Pokémon by nature. He gets a thrill out of battling and likes to trick humans into thinking he drinks blood. He views Obanai as his surrogate human father

Obanai’s Toxicroak is a fun jokester, who messes with his opponents and enjoys playing with younger Pokémon he finds. He gets scolded the most by Obanai for his unserious, light-hearted behaviour

Obanai’s Drapion is a ferocious, emotionless machine built for battling. He doesn’t like his fellow teammates and expresses favouritistic love towards Obanai. He will never disobey Obanai

Obanai’s Scolipede is very calm and friendly. He enjoys setting up Pokecamps and likes to race other Pokémon for fun. He is also a big metalhead, Obanai and him bond over metal music

Obanai’s Seviper is elegant and dark, with a nasty thirst for victims to bite. It simply despises having no attention and enjoys participating in Pokémon contests. He and Obanai have a matching fang of severity

Obanai’s only non-battle Pokémon are all from Mitsuri; so a Muk, a Stuntank(since both are poisons), a Mawile(since she thought Mawile is a cool fairy type) and a Galarian Weezing(since it’s a mixture of poison and fairy)

Max and I went crazy over this not too long ago LOL he is absolutely a fairy type bitch. Here's a team that I mocked up for him, actually, featuring Luvdisc because there's NO WAY he's not using the literal heart shaped Pokemon on his team. Also, Max's Pokemon caljinx art because I still obsess over it.

🌈 Does your OC speak more than one language? If so, how many and which?

He learned some Mandarin (specifically Sichuanese) as a child but didn't retain much on account of having no one to speak it with after his mom was murdered (yeah that's a whole thing)

I think his foster homes at best had no interest in helping him retain it, and at worst actively tried to scrub any trace of his culture from him. As an adult he is trying to learn Mandarin again but I think a lot of the nuances of the form of the language his mom spoke are just lost to him now.

does jinx count? This is a tough one because honestly he just likes Having Things. He has a lot of collections (makeup collection, plushie collection, nail polish collection, sex toy collection... I could go on)

Until Jinx, no one had ever really gifted him anything of sentimental value, and there aren't many things that have followed him from household to household or boyfriend to boyfriend considering his penchant for burning everything to the ground and starting over.

We'll say: his cell phone, a silver rose necklace from Jinx, and his mom's hair clip that he's been carrying around for 2+ decades.

What if the Teen Titans were pokemon trainers

Doing this summary again. So basically pokemon is something I loved as a kid/teen, then I outgrew it around the time Black&White came out. Now I am back into it and am having a lot of fun imagining pokemon teams for characters from other cartoons I like now/liked as a kid. I have done a bunch of posts for Disney cartoons, and a couple od cartoon network ones (No Nick ones.. yet). Teen titans was one of my favorite shows growing up and I have been wanting to do pokemon teams for a while. So here are teams for the Main group of Titans, Titans East, and 3 anti hero’s. Now I used the 2003 version of Teen Titans, since that was the one I watched every week as a kid but if anyone really likes Teen titans Go you could probably still use most of these pokemon for that show too (Change out a certain one of Raven’s for a Ponyta, and maybe another certain of Robin’s for I don’t know farfetch.)

Now one thing important about the 2003 version is that when describing the dynamic between the titans the writers (using Robin’s name/voice) summed them up as “We are not five hero’s. We are one Awesome team". In this version the titans were all extensively trained in combat, and did everything together as a team. I do not want to take there powers away, or change their dynamic. Since they do have powers (In Robin’s case gadgets and lots and lots of martial arts experience), and already have numbers through each other; I do not think any of them would feel the need to catch a full team of six. So I am giving everyone 3 pokemon.  

The main titans will also each have a shiny pokemon, the one I think would be their top pokemon, or the one that best encompasses their emotional arcs/places on the team. I also gave each of the Titans East a fairy pokemon, mostly because I saw half of them had fairies and figured okay this can be their teams version of shines. Without further adieu, teams below

Main Titans Robin

 The Leader of the team

Taillow: Well of course the iconic “Bird Boy” needs a bird pokemon. It scouts ahead, trails bad guys, and yes does fight in battles. I picked Taillow for Robin due to the birds flying and normal type (Headcannon that Normal or duel Normal types are Robin’s favorite, because they are similar to him) and brave gutsy nature, which mirrors the boy wonder’s own.

Hitmonchan: Robin’s strongest pokemon. Given his martial arts and combat knowledge Robin would also have a fighting type pokemon. I picked Hitmoncham because it’s a classic fighter, that can land a serious punch, and is always training to better itself. Wiki also says it will train by sparing with its trainer, if said trainer is tough enough to be able to keep up. Since Robin definitely could, this pokemon would be a great partner for him on and off the field.

Shiney Absol: So n the 2003 version Robin walked the line between good and bad more than Raven, or any other titan. (I exclude Terra because she ultimately decided she wasn’t/did not want to be a titan.). In season one Robin believes that their is “Good” and “evil”, the two have a very clear divide, and that because he places himself on the side of good, he has justification to take any risk or try anything. A belief that clever villains (Slade) learn to exploit, and even Robin himself crosses at times. 

I am giving Robin an Absol because at the end of his arc, and in episodes centered around him in later seasons , Robin is forced to admit that he thinks very similarly to Villains he fights against, and has the potential to be like them. I am making this his Shiny pokemon to show his relationship with his friends, and how at the end of season 1 he tells Starfire that he will never turn out like the villians he shares these similarities with, because he knows that his friends will never let him.

Starfire

The strength of the team. Proof that innocence does not mean ignorance

Starmie: A star shaped pokemon, for Starfire. One that like her is equal parts strong, powerful, and beautiful.

Shiny Blaziken: I will make Starfire’s ace her shiny to show her prowess as a fighter, lying underneath all her curiosity and sweetness. I really wanted to give Starfire a strong fire type. The torchick line is a good line, that’s popular among girls. I am giving Starfire a fully evolved one because our girl is more than capable... I also kinda really like the idea of Robin and Starfire both having fighting types for their strongest pokemon, Robin’s being a regular fighting type and Starfire's being a duel fire/fighting type. I think that really suits this couple.

Dunsparce: Yeah yeah yeah. I know its a pretty lame, weird looking pokemon. It’s the closest Pokemon I could find to Silky okay. It’s Starfire’s pet.

Cyborg

The Muscle, mechanics, and resident big brother of the team.

Electrode: a good electric type for Cy. It helps stop his systems/machines from overloading/taking to much electricity. Its detonation could work as a substatue for Cyborg’s sonic cannon if he finds himself in a situation where he has taken damage or needs to conserve power. I also think it would make a really good guard Pokemon for Cyborg’s room, or any place he keeps machines that for safety reasons only he should touch (be where of Electrode Beast Boy).

KlingKlang: here is Cyborg’s strongest pokemon. Steel is another type I feel like Cyborg would favor/want to train. And since he is a shop class guy with an expertise with cogs and gears, he and a fully evolved gear shaped steel type pokemon just to me feel like a match made in heaven

Shiny Mechop: This one is Cyborgs little buddy (For real I love dynamics where one person is really big/tall and then the other is really small. So since Cy is an already a big muscle man gonna say that an ever stone was used to keep Machop as mini muscle) and extra pare of helping hands. It knows how to use tools and crawls into tight space Cyborg cannot fit to fix things. If the pare are not training or battling together they can often be found outside throwing the footballs around. Cy has even tried to teach it to play video games with him and BB (though it sometimes destroys the controls).

Raven

The Hope and steadiness of the team.

I picked her pokemon from a Psychological perspective. In addition to her not having a ponyta I also excluded “Raven” Pokemon like Murkrow or Crovisquire because while they may match Raven’s “esthetic” I do not see them as matching in other ways.

Haunter: a ghostly spirit pokemon. Clever, somewhat creepy, kinda looks a bit like the shadowy magic Raven uses. It's not a dark type though, because Raven does not do dark spells. It's also generally a very silly pokemon and goes to lengths trying to get Raven figure out that she will not accidentally blow up the world if she laughs or has fun ever now and again (Haunter gets along really well with Beast Boy. It will enlist his help if it seems like it's trainer is being particularly difficult in this area.)

Alakasam: A strong psychic pokemon for this heroine with such strong powers. Alakasam and Raven's meditate together, and are able to use the similarities in their abilities to communicate telepathically, and could maybe even draw assistance/metronome from each others power pool. They have done a lot of good together. But they also both share that internal fear of "what kind of destruction would I be capable of if I ever lost control". This holds them back considerably. I don't think they would be brave enough to really give it their full power until season 4's finale battle with Trigon.

Shiny Togepi: Raven was the Titan that turned out to be great at and really like babysitting, so baby pokemon for Raven. I picked Togepi due to it being an empath (just like Raven) pokemon. More than that though, Raven has always feared that her heritage means she is fated to be bad. Togepi's sense what is in others hearts and refuse to obey those they see bad in. Being Togepi's trainer assures Raven that she is not her heritage and is fully capable of choosing to be/do good. It is her shiny because it's the pokemon that helps bring out the best in her.

Beast Boy

The comfort and laughter of the team.

So my original plan was just to give him a sea, land, and flying pokemon, since he has performed Hero work in all three. When I picked the three I found I could not leave them less than fully evolved. BB has been these animals and knows full well what they would need. This led to him ending up with the strongest team.

Manatine: Beast Boy's water/sea pokemon. Helps him keep his friends and the T-Sub safe. It evolved from Mantyke all the way back in season 1 after Beast Boy and Aqua Lad were able to put aside their differences and beat the army of Tritant's.

Donphan: this is BB's land pokemon. He liked elephants in the show and donphan's being a rock type also works because rock/earth had so much to do with the terra arc. To which BB was integral. So I am going to say that BB's little phanpy liked and wanted to help Terra almost as much as BB did. Her betrayal was all the worse for it because not only did it lose a friend, but then it had to watch its, normally carefree and happy go lucky, trainer go through such a long period of heartbreak. It evolves into Donphan in the first part of Aftershock, while trying to protect Beast Boy from Terra. It isn't able to that time. But it is still a comfort to him after the season 2 finale, and the pair get stronger over the next 3 seasons.

Shiney Altaria: Beast Boy's Ariel pokemon. I chose Altaria because of its strong typing, and because it is covered in fluffy pillows. It's his shiny because of the three it best represents the lightheartedness and support Best boy brings to his team. For most of the show its a little bird. It evolves at the beginning of season 5, like the first or second episode. The doom Patrol see it evolve. By the end of that arc (when Beast Boy and what's left of the titans Allies go to face the Brotherhood, not when Terra comes back) Best Boy and Alteria have found stones and mastered mega evolution.

(Okay so it looks like I didn't mention this up higher, but Starfire and Beast Boy are the only two Titans I could see using mega stones with their partner pokemon. Raven and Alakasam are scared of the effects/loosing themselves, and Robin and Absol are stubborn and adamant say they do not need "extras" to be Hero's).

Terra

the lost girl, trapped in a cycle she could not beat alone

Dugtrio and an Alolan Marowak: Terra first two pokemon that she has pre meeting the titans (though her Marowake was probably a Cubone then, and it evolved in between her first meeting and when she came back, a ghost of the sweet girl they met before). They represent her loneliness and how unstable her life feels to her. She is close with these two pokemon and they do care about her. Terra set's them free before staying to stop the volcano. The Titans want to take Dugtrio and Marowak back to the tower and keep them until they can figure out how to reunite them with Terra. But after everything that went down the pokemon pair decide to leave Jump City to wonder again. They are eventually found and picked up by Terra's older bother Geo-force, and live happily with him.

Onyx: This pokemon actually belongs to Slade. When he and Terra commonsense their plan in Aftershock he places its pokeball in Terra's hands with instructions to use it to help bring the titans and the city to their knees. The thing is big, mean, and super destructive. Laying waste to the town alongside Terra, Slade's other goons, and robots. Terra leaves it behind when she gives up during the battle at the start of part 2. What ever happens to Cinderblock/Overload/Plasmus happens to it. The next time we see it again would be the amusement park in "Things change".

Butterfree: I know, I know I said each character would only have three. But a.) Onyx wasn't really Terra's pokemon so she technically only had two. b.) Terra acquires Butterfree after coming out of the statue (before seeing Best Boy again). By this time she has released Dugtrio and Marowak, and is starting over with an empty slate.

Terra finds butterfree as a caterpie one evening when she gets caught in a storm on the way back to wherever her place of residency is. The storm is clearly scaring caterpie and Terra take pity on it, and takes it back with her. It turns to have been right at evolution, and was holding off until it could find a safe place to. It evolves into Metapod that night and Butterfree a couple weeks later. Terra keeps the butterfree as an emotional support pokemon. If it can go into a chrysalis, come out as something new, then go on to live a good life... well than maybe so can Terra.

Okay so this is already getting posted late because my computer crashed and the repair shop could not fix it, so I had to order a new one. Plus i think it's long enough with just these six. So I will post it as is and if it gets enough likes/comments I will post a part 2 with my pokemon pics for the The Titans East, and the two other anti hero's. The two other anti hero's are Red-X and Jinx if that gets anyone wanting to leave likes and comments in an effort to motivate me to write part two faster

Asticroo w their croo of Pokemon~~

He isn't a trainer, but he runs a small garden and plant shop in a pretty rural town. He mostly manages the shop and garden with some help from his Pokemon and friends (and their kiddo), but also part-time helps rehabilitate Grass and Fairy type Pokemon. Since his garden space is small, he can only accept a few Pokemon at a time, but does his best to help with work load from their local Pokemon Centre.

Oh and I mostly stole the official style (as you do) for this image cuz thought it'd be fun to try those trainer drawings

Gnosia Characters as Pokemon Trainers

I’v been thinking for a while about which types of Pokemon would be used by Gnosia characters. This is mainly based on my personal impressions. Order of the characters is totally random. THIS MAY AND WILL CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS FOR GNOSIA.

First of all, I think that Setsu would be using fighting types, just because their past as a soldier. For some reason I see them with the ones like Machamp or Lucario. 

Raqio would definitely be the psychic-type trainer. They could also use some fairy-types, according to their fancy sense of style, but I think that psychic type (according to some events) would fit them much better. Alakazam or even Mewtwo (if we include legendaries) would be a cool match for them.

Next is Stella. Well, I thought about grass/fairy type for her. Grass type just because the Plastic Flower event and fairy type... I dunno, she reminds me of Gardevoir a bit, maybe that’s the case.

Next one is Shigemichi. Dunno, he’s just electric/bug type for me. There’s no more to explain, it’s just an impression. I think he would look cool with Vikavolt or even Magnemite if we include just electric type.

Sha-ming could be either fighting type or ground/rock for me. Similar to Shigi’s case, pure impression. I’d see him with Gliscor or Krookodile. 

Jonas could use steel or poison types. Steel, because of, well, the thing attached to his arm, and poison, because... well, I just claim that he’s.. let’s put it in kind words, a connoisseur of alcoholic beverages, which TECHNICALLY is poisoning an organism. He’d look cool with Magearna or Seviper 

Yuriko is definitely Dark/Ghost user and I do not want any discussion about that. I can only imagine her ordering Gengar to use Dream Eater on basically anyone who would cross her. 

Otome is easy to link as a water type. Like, come on, she’s a damn whale. Tbh any fish pokemon would fit her good. 

Remnan.. poor boy, I’d give him ghost type, just because how traumatized his character is. The perfect partner for him imo would be Mimikyu.

SQ, the bimbo queen. Come on, we can all agree that she’d definitely use pure fairy type. Florges, Togepi, Alcremie, anything cute would fit her as a good partner.

Next one is Comet. Well, according to her place of origin, which is high in lethality planet, the poison type would probably be the best. According to her.. slimy thing, her main pokemon would be Muk.

Chipie. Well, Chipie is a cat person (literally and figuratively). He could be friend with any cat pokemon, but the main type would be normal in my opinion.

Kukrushka. Technically I could give her a fairy type, but some traumatic event called KUKRUSHKA INCIDENT leads me to give her a dark type. I think that she could use Zoroark or Sableye.

The last one, but definitely not the least, is Gina. Technically, she’s a space traffic controller, I could give her for example a steel type, but I have no clue what specific Pokemon she could have as a partner.
