FAQs on Road Safety, Crash Barriers and More
Tumblr media
With millions of Indians on the road every day, road safety is of utmost importance. Road accidents are among the biggest causes of deaths in the country. According to the NCRB data, over 1.55 lakh lives were lost in road crashes across India in 2021. That is an average of 426 daily or 18 every single hour. Given these figures, road safety needs the much-needed attention. Here are some FAQs and their answers on road safety, crash barriers and more:
Question 1: What are common road safety rules for motorists?
Here are some common road safety rules for motorists;
They should always wear a seatbelt
They should avoid distractions such as using mobile phones, listening to too loud music, or talking over the phone while driving
They should stick to the specified speed limits
They should get their vehicles serviced regularly
They should follow traffic rules
They should drive carefully during bad weather
They should maintain a safe distance from other vehicles
Question 2:  What is a road safety audit?
A road safety audit is a formal procedure to assess how safe a road is. The audit tries to identify the causes of accidents and take preventive measures. For instance, it checks whether there are any blind spots that are hindering the driver's view of traffic. These audits are done for existing and proposed roadways. This is a proactive approach to improve road safety and reduce the number of accidents.
Question 3: Why do local authorities conduct a road safety audit?
Auditing roads is important as it helps to:
Identify areas where speed bumps, crash barriers and, proper signage are needed
Incorporate road safety features
Remove obstacles
Reduce the possibility of legal action against authorities and contractors
Question 4:  What are vehicle barriers?
Vehicle barriers refer to devices that help cars to slow down deliberately. They are most often used in areas with high pedestrian traffic. For instance, areas near schools and hospitals have had speed bumps to slow down vehicles.
Question 5: How do crash barriers work?
Coated in zinc, crash barriers have a shiny appearance. This helps in first capturing the motorist's attention and then forcing them to slow down before reaching the barrier to avoid a crash. Motorists do not miss barriers as they come in bright colours and have reflective coating that makes it hard to miss. They also sometimes come with signs to ensure drivers know they need to slow down.
Crash barriers also help in streamlining traffic. Not just that, in case of an accident they prevent vehicles from veering off the road or smashing into oncoming lanes. They can be used on roadways, flyovers and bridges. Metal crash barriers are often preferred over concrete crash barriers as they are more durable. Crash barriers are also called metal crash barriers or highway side barriers.
Question 6: What are different types of crash barriers?
W Beam Crash Barriers: These barriers have a 'W' shaped beam rail element.
Thrie Beam Crash Barriers:  These barriers feature a triple wave shaped beam rail.
Pedestrian Guard railing

I think there's a really potentially dark kind of lonely desperation in the way Mirage kidnaps Noah
Like, Noah immediately starts to panic and yell to be let go, and Mirage's response to this is to lock the doors and go faster
It's fucking terrifying from Noah's point of view, he's confused and is in the process of committing a crime--
--He's not just worried about his own safety, he's suddenly been thrown into a high speed, high profile car chase with a multi-vehicle car pursuit and he's going to be unable to help his family if he ends up in prison
And these are city cops in 1994 and Noah is an adult cis male POC, he is absolutely beyond fucked if any of the cops manage to identify him even if they don't outright catch him
And then Mirage creates a copy of him that is sitting in the driver's seat and taunting the fucking cops, fuck fuck fuck
His fear and panic is overwhelming, he's being trapped and driven somewhere and he can't figure out by who or what or for what purpose, and the cops are after him, and if he's busted then what happens to his mother? What happens to his brother?
It's incredible he stays even somewhat calm.
Meanwhile Mirage is fully having a great time.
He finally found a human like Bumblebee did, the human actually found him! How convenient-- Some may even say it's destiny. Even if the human was trying to steal him. Rude!!!
Now he has someone he can play with, though. Optimus might not yell at him too much since it's not really his fault this human tried to steal him.
Stealing the human instead sounds fun to him, actually. Turnabout is fair play, and all that.
And I do believe that on some level, surely Mirage understands this is not great to do, really.
But Mirage also seems really terribly lonely amongst his team; It doesn't feel like he fits in with them quite as well, and we know all the bots miss Cybertron.
Mirage and Bee seem particularly socially oriented, and Mirage seems to be quite possibly even more outgoing than Bumblebee is, based on both of their portrayals in this and the prior film.
So Mirage might have pushed aside his better judgement in the name of companionship and having fun for once, perhaps for the first time in a very long time, fuck it, we ride.
As someone who can't go out and do things because I'm disabled and COVID will take me out, I truly understand the difficulty of forced isolation into perpetuity.
So I can really feel for Mirage -- He just hit his breaking point, and could not resist the joy of treating the highway like the Speedia 500 racetrack, of really letting his rubber burn and having a potential friend along for the ride.
Plus, he got Noah away from the cops, and that's good, right? It must be! I mean he got the attention of even more cops, but they're probably dead now. That was a pretty sturdy road barrier, after all.
But the fear Noah must have felt in that moment is genuinely upsetting.
His brother's life was on the line here, not his own, as far as he's concerned.
And of course, Mirage would not have known that right away, fair enough.
But even when being begged to stop, Mirage egged on more cops, drew more aggro from the authorities than was needed and did so at extreme risk to his passenger, and carried on. He had a good time.
And that's really fucking scary, that Mirage's loneliness and overall sense of isolation was so severe that in many ways it overrode his compassion to some degree.
When Noah is panicking, Mirage was physically feeling Noah's fear. Feet were digging into his interior, fists slapping against his windows, hands gripping him from the inside, tense with anxiety.
We know Mirage cares deeply about Noah, and later on, Kris as well.
But when they first meet, there's this somewhat blatant disregard for Noah's fear that he only sort of half-heartedly, somewhat jokingly even tries to address while he just keeps flooring it.
Sure, at that point, as far as Mirage knows, this dude was just trying to steal him. He doesn't have a feel for who Noah actually is yet. He doesn't know about Kris. He has a right to be a little suspicious, and it's reasonably understandable if he wants to fuck with someone he thinks is just a bog standard petty car thief for a minute.
But Mirage isn't all that suspicious; He knows the power balance is so wildly in his favour that it's sort of whatever, really. Why investigate when you can be driving?
He eventually "tests" Noah when he finally reveals his root mode to him.
And to be fair, he even acknowledges that this is probably a lot for Noah to deal with.
But then he responds to the equivalent of a Barbie doll shaking a twig at him by levelling a charged weapon directly at Noah's head and chest.
We know that Mirage isn't actually going to fire. Probably.
But Noah doesn't, and all he has is a pipe, after a joy ride from hell that scared the living shit out of him and put his entire family's wellbeing at extreme risk.
It's kind of fucked up; Of course it's understandable from both sides, knowing the perspective of both sides. Noah needs that stolen car money. Mirage was about to get stolen.
It's not the greatest situation for them to be meeting in.
But holy shit.
Mirage is a little... Excessive.
Which is consistent with the behaviour we see from him after he gets more familiar with Noah, and we know he's not going to hurt Noah or Kris, and he's just a very energetic type of bot. Okay.
But I wonder how Mirage behaved prior to meeting Noah. How much of his excitability and outgoing nature and willingness to do pretty much anything comes from the joy he gets from having his own human, getting to have a new friend, finally?
How depressed might he have been previously, given how abundantly happy he is, how quick he is to disregard almost anything else in favour of having a friend-- Even if he has to take a human temporarily captive in order to obtain that friendship?
We know his care for Noah ultimately overrides his sense of self-preservation as well.
But Mirage is extremely intense and high energy, and that's interesting, because you wouldn't necessarily think of a fairly isolated, lonely alien lost on a foreign world as being so upbeat and exuberant.
He wants to be happy. And he's very invested in the few people that can make him happy.
Mirage is the definition of ride or die, and that can actually be pretty scary.
He didn't give a second thought to causing at least one likely fatal car crash with his illusions, so that he and Noah could evade arrest.
We already know he's willing to take out humans if need be.
It's a good thing Noah's a good guy, because I can easily imagine Mirage as willing to do nearly anything to keep the new friend he found...
Anyway, my break's over now. lol

Through actions like protests, letter-writings, die-ins, and more, we defeated 21 out of 22 anti-LGBTQ+ bills attempting to move through the Florida legislature. One of these bills, HB 1639, sponsored by local representative Doug Bankson, was particularly egregious. It sought to redefine "sex" in a way that excludes transgender, non-binary, and intersex people, and to prohibit a person's state identification documents from reflecting their gender identity. As the bill was heading towards its downfall in the legislature, the Deputy Executive Director, Robert Kynoch, of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) released a memo to county tax collectors in late January rescinding previous department policy (IR08 - Gender Requirements), which allowed for Florida residents to change the gender marker on their ID to accurately reflect their gender identity. The memo wrongly excludes gender identity from "sex" in an effort to subvert the democratic process to redefine sex - and prohibit gender marker amendments - absent legislative authority. In a similar way, the legislature continued its attacks on the rights of immigrants and people experiencing homelessness in the form of HB 1451. This bill, which passed and was signed into law by DeSantis, restricts the acceptance of community IDs issued by community organizations to immigrants and individuals experiencing homelessness. Community IDs are essential for demonstrating that a person is a resident and member of a given community. It is already tremendously difficult for these groups to acquire valid identification, and this law imposes yet another barrier to identification.' /End ID]

Doing research for a fic and—
Goddamn the car accident that killed Makoto’s parents is so fucking confusing. Now I’m not expert on car crashes but I don’t know what the fuck happened here. I can make the assumption that the car swerved and hit a barrier based on the angle of the crash—
Tumblr media
The problem is the only barrier visible stops a considerable distance from the crash site—
Tumblr media
Now the view of the whole road is obscured by the smoke cloud at this angle but there is another shot where barriers are visible so we can line them up and guesstimate where the other barrier would be—
Tumblr media
So it’s possible they hit the barrier EXCEPT— The direction the car is facing would imply they would need to be on the left side of the road since in Japan the drivers seat is on the right side. They would’ve had to have gone way out of control to end up on that side of the road. (For context it’s a four lane highway.) They could’ve swerved, ended up on the wrong side of the road, hit the barrier and slid to a stop, BUT their stop had to be more abrupt than that based on my hypothesis as to how Makoto got out of the car—
Tumblr media
We can see that he didn’t crawl out because he begins face down on the ground— why would he have crawled out just to lay down only to stand back up? (Stop drop and roll maybe?) Plus the car isn’t even on its side, there are only a couple of ways he could’ve gotten out:
One, opened the door and fell out (he would’ve had to have come out of the front passenger side based on where he fell, which wouldn’t make much sense considering he would’ve either had to have been sitting shotgun or have climbed from the back seat into the front seat)— but neither of the doors are open and I doubt he closed one as he fell.
Two, have climbed out of one of the windows (presumably they were shattered) and fell, not on his hands and knees or his feet, but flat on his face (again, based on where he’s laying he would’ve had to have come out of the front passenger side) which is possible but weird (He could’ve been sitting in someone’s lap in the front seat— I don’t know how stringent child care safety was in Japan in the early 90s— though he would’ve been six or seven during the crash so it’s less plausible, though he does have that weak sickly Victorian child vibe so he could’ve just been small for his age?).
OR, three: he was flung through the backseat window as of the impact and landed there. (The angle of the crash supports this.) The way Makoto fell is strange for this explanation of course, he shouldn’t be facing towards the camera, and he should also be much more injured— but it’s the best I’ve got.
With this I’ll also add that the car likely caught fire after Makoto was ejected. (The initial crash would’ve been further back and ground to a stop beside where Makoto landed when he was ejected.)
So to summarize I think the car swerved to avoid something, likely another crash, ended up on the wrong side of the road, hit a barrier, wherein Makoto was ejected, the car caught fire and stopped, or the car stopped and burst into flames.
Of course none of these explanations are really any good both because of each individual ones improbability and the fact that none of them take into account the other cars visible. This is just the best I can make of something that really doesn’t make much sense.
AND AS FOR THE ORIGINAL CUTSCENE:
Tumblr media
ITS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD!
HALLELUJAH!
We can see the tire tracks that clearly illustrate the path the car took before it crashed. It swerved to avoid hitting Aigis most likely.
NOW: ABOUT MAKOTO.
There’s really no way to know how this fucker got out. What I think happened after is this: he rounded the car, fell to his knees potentially out of shock before being able to stand back up. And then falling to his knees again just further from the car.
There’s also the possibility that the third image is simply the first taken from a different angle but Makoto is facing different directions so I don’t think so.

“I figured she’d be here by now,” Scott checked his watch again, but no sign of Brinkley. He’d thought she’d be fine on her own. She’d smarted off that she didn’t need a baby sitter, but even the guys didn’t travel alone much. It was better to have someone to at least watch your back.
“Probably lost track of time,” Kevin could tell Scott was worried or at the very least anxious, “She’s a tough girl,”
Scott wasn’t sure if he was more worried about her safety or if who his imagination suggested she might be with.
------------------------------------
“GOD, I haven’t had red meat in so long,” Brinkley nearly passed out as she chowed down probably the best burger she’d ever had in her life. She hadn’t had a cheat day in months - she could splurge a little.
Curt chuckled a little as he took a bite of his own. He knew some would be upset if they knew she was here with just him. But, he wasn’t doing anything wrong. She was here by choice. He laughed to himself again as she took another bite and let out a satisfied groan.
“Not sure I’ve ever heard you make those noises before,” He joked, but his smile fell a little as he thought better of the comment in retrospect.
“Sure you have,” She nudged him under the table with her foot, “You’ve heard worse,”
He was relieved that she felt comfortable enough to joke about such things.
“Well…I guess,” He couldn’t stop his instinctive wink.
Brinkley smirked back at him, but did not like the uneasy feeling in her gut that was telling her she was doing something wrong. Curt noticed a change in her face.
“You alright?” He asked, wiping his hands on a napkin, looking mildly concerned.
“Yeah…just probably my stomach not liking all this fat and grease,” She joked, willing it to pass.
“Told you it’d do that…” Curt was smug, recalling his warning long ago when he was staging her diet. He checked his watch, noticing they still had a couple of hours before they had to be at the arena, “Do you wanna kill some time before the show?”
Brinkley’s stomach tingled again, but she ignored it as she considered his offer. Perhaps it was foolish, but she found herself willing to trust him again. Afterall he wasn’t the first person to be an asshole when drunk. She placed the boundary there - she could trust him sober.
“Sure, what’d you have in mind?”
-----------------------------------------------
Country music played over the radio, nothing new when it came to riding with Curt. He had a different rental car now - no long front bench seat. The console between them was a welcome barrier for Brinkley who knew in all logical scenarios that nothing would happen. But she knew, even now, that there was a weakness in her specifically for Curt. She couldn’t pinpoint it, but it was definitely there.
He drove through a natural everglades area where all that existed were only power poles, a few clusters of palm trees, and sawgrass broken up by wetlands. The narrow highway had few other cars. It wasn’t much to look at, but it was better than any concrete jungle.
“Makes me want to go fishing,” She lamented, passing yet another boggy lake that was probably teeming with wildlife.
“I love fishing down here, especially on the ocean - not far from here is where I got that shark on my wall at home,” He tried to watch the scenery too, but kept turning back to her.
“You’ve mentioned that a time or two,” She teased, having sat through the bullshark story multiple times, “What?” She asked, catching him looking yet again. She was dressed down in leggings, a sports bra and a loose-fitting tank top, she was no stunner right now.
“Nothing…” He blushed a little being caught, “Just realized the last week or so has been weird because I missed this. You know, riding together, bullshitting. Guess I didn’t realize how used to you I got,”
“Yeah, I don’t think either of us realized that. It's been weird for me, too, ya know,” She wanted to put her hand on top of his that rested on the gear shift.
“I bet. Having to share a room with those two constantly would be a big change by itself,” He had been wondering how that arrangement was going. It had shot a few eyebrows up, but Scott didn’t seem to be hiding anything anymore.
“Well…I kinda don’t anymore,” Brinkley admitted, chewing her bottom lip a little as Curt looked over curiously, “It felt too much like…living together? And way too soon to even think about that. Staying a couple days at his house was one thing…but together every night day in and day out. I’d get on his nerves. I don’t think it’d last very long,”
“Tell me about it,” Curt teased, taking a firm nudge from her.
“Hey! I’m not THAT bad,” She pushed his arm, “...was I?” She followed after a thought of uncertainty.
“Nah, I’ve had way worse travel buddies,” He shrugged his shoulders, “Way worse,”
“Yeah, but did you ever rib any of them into a surprise threesome,” She said, trying to get shocked reaction.
Curt feigned thought and she slapped his shoulder as he laughed.
“But I got you good, didn’t I?” He cocked one eyebrow at her. She tried to pout but couldn’t resist smirking. Curt felt the weight that had been weighing on him the last several days lift away.
“So paying for your own room gets pricey after a while,” He cleared his throat, knowing he wasn’t being subtle.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Curt,” She said, though she sounded somewhat forlorn about it, “For a few reasons. But yeah, it would add up if Scott wasn’t paying half. I told him he didn’t have to, he’s basically paying for a whole room.”
“Yeah, but how many times might he be in yours…it probably comes out even,” Curt reasoned. He noticed she blushed, “You don’t have to act like I don’t know what goes on between you two,”
“I know…it’s just -” She thought for a moment on how to put this, “It’s still weird for me, navigating everything. And now I’m doing it without you,” She sighed, “Just a lot of adjustments. It's kinda scary being alone sometimes.” She looked around curiously when Curt pulled the car over onto a gravel shoulder and parked.
“I know I didn’t make things any easier on you,” He said turning to face her, “I am truly sorry for anything I did ever that hurt you,”
Brinkley could see the sincerity in his eyes and couldn’t stop looking at them. She felt desire and guilt collide in her gut and found herself very confused at the mixture of feelings.
“I know you are, Curt.” Her hand itched to reach up and touch his face. But her stomach twisted at the thought of betraying Scott, “I think I can trust you from now on…as long as you aren't drinking,”
“Well that made my day…” he flashed a smile, “You know…if you're ever too scared or anything.  You can always call me…” he offered, “I'll have a roommate, probably Ray, but you know everyone likes you. You're always welcome.”
“Thanks…I appreciate the offer, but at some point I gotta grow up a little,” she shrugged, biting her tongue to keep from asking if he'd just come to her room instead. She knew what those kinds of invitations could imply and clearly she wasn't disciplined enough quite yet with the thoughts flittering through her mind.
“We should get back,” Curt clenched his jaw as he noticed the digital clock in the car, “Don't want anyone worrying about you,”
Brinkley knew that was barely code for Scott. She nodded, finding herself slightly disappointed.
------------------------------
“Where the hell have you been?” Scott asked as he saw her enter the back door of the arena. His eyes went to Curt as he walked in directly behind her,  “What's this?” He asked,  barely concealing his accusation.
“He was the only one at the gym.  He just gave me a ride,” she said in an even tone,  hoping to not rile him up further. He reached out for her,  pulling her to his side.  He kept a warning glare on Curt as he encouraged her to walk down the hall.
“I'm fine,  Scott. You don't have to worry about me…” she set her things down in the locker room.
“Its not so much you I'm worried about,  it's him and whether he's learned to keep his damn hands to himself,”
Brinkley couldn't help but enjoy the way Scott desired to protect her,  even if it was a little patriarchal. She went over to him,  slipping her arms around his torso and laid her head against his chest.
“I didn't mean to make you worry, I'm sorry,” she was relieved when he returned her embrace.
“I'm gonna be honest,  I don't like caring about other people this much.  It's not easy to trust people.  Especially around here. I don't want to be made into a fool,” he stroked her hair, but his words felt like a warning,  even a veiled insult.
She swallowed any offense she felt. She could butter him up later and hopefully make up completely. She definitely did not like being on his bad side.
“Did Scott say much?” Curt asked as they were alone in the gorilla once again.
“A little…but nothing really much,” Brinkley adjusted the sports bra top paired with the black shorts, “Do you like it?”
“It looks incredible on you.  Hell, what wouldn't?” He looked her over.  He bought the damn clothes. He should be able to look.
“The other shorts my ass half hangs out of them…. Saving those for the pay per view. People will be paying 29.99 for each cheek,” she joked.
“And lucky me,  I get the view for free,” Curt teased.
“Nothing you haven't seen before,” she teased back,  getting ready to open the curtain. Just as she stepped out,  he leaned in to her ear.
“Nothing I haven't fucked before either,” he murmured, smug that she'd have to spend the next fifteen minutes in front of the crowd without responding.
---------------------------------------
Brinkley was glad the next show was in Miami, they didn't have to change hotels, staying near Hollywood, Florida. She was tired and was happy to decline the invitation to go to a nearby club. Even Kevin tried to convince her to go,  again raising her suspicion that he and Scott were in on this together.
She was comfy in a tank top and panties,  not having to care about appearances in her own room.  That alone was freeing. She cranked up the air to combat the humidity and collapsed on the bed to mindlessly watch tv just as there was a knock at her door. She groaned and drug herself off the bed. Looking through the peephole, she instantly recognized that stubbled chin. She opened the door with her hand on her hip.
“Can I help you?” She said playfully, but her face fell when she saw Kevin standing right next to Scott. His eyebrows went up as he reactively looked her over before she darted herself behind the door.
“Well…I was making sure you didn’t wanna come with us to the club,” Scott stepped a foot in the door, “But now I’m kinda thinking I’ve got other plans,”
“No, I told you I’m getting some rest in while I have the chance,” She saw Kevin step in after him, “Hey, I didn’t say you guys could come in!”
Scott shut the door, letting her hide behind his body.
“He’s seen me fuck you before, doll,” Scott laughed as she pushed Scott towards her bag so she could at least grab one of the oversized t-shirts she’d stolen from Scott. At least it would be long enough to cover her.
“But it was dark, you guys were drunk and we were mostly under the sheets,” She reasoned, still standing mostly behind Scott.
“True, she wasn’t as much of an exhibitionist as that Toronto chick,” Kevin recalled, laughing at the warning face Scott shot him. He knew from the intensely curious look on Brinkley’s face, that he might have started something.
Scott might have hinted that Brinkley may be down for some fun with all of them, but at the moment, it didn’t seem like she was. Maybe he hadn’t asked her yet. Sharing a room with her occasionally would be a lot better if he was also getting something out of the deal. Satisfied at the moment by stirring the pot with Scott’s road history, Kevin decided to leave for the club.
“Toronto chick?” Brinkley asked after the door closed.
“Some of us guys have regular girls in certain cities. Not every one…but some.” He admitted, suddenly thinking about Pittsburgh, “Not gonna get mad that I got my dick wet before I met you, are you?” He asked, almost condescendingly.
She frowned and walked back to the bed, flopping down on it again. “NO. I was just asking…” She couldn’t help but be a little jealous of them and wondered if he’d turn them down if they showed up. She had a comeback on the tip of her tongue, but guessed better of mentioning anything with Curt for the moment, “Sorry, just in a bad mood,”
“Well that’s why I’m here,” He walked to the bed, crawling across it to slide up behind her, “I know I was an ass earlier,I wanna make up for it,” He pulled her hair away from her neck, kissing the tender spot behind her ear down to her neck.
“Scott…” She meant to say it in protest, but her tone softened itself. She lost more of her will to resist as his hand slid over the curve of her hip and down over her ass, “You know…I know you jacked off that first night we ever stayed in the same room…” She remembered how he’d grabbed her ass that night in a similar way.
“You did?” He asked with a hint of surprise in his husky voice, “Were you awake the whole time?” He squeezed a cheek, remembering how he’d fondled her that night, “And you weren’t mad?”
“I mean… a little,” She gasped as he manhandled her backside, “But…I was turned on, too…when you touched me, it felt different than when anyone else ever had,”
“Did you want to touch me?” He pulled her back against him, slowly gyrating against her as he worked himself up, “Were you dying to turn over and see my dick?”
She nodded, her breath quickening, “I was close to turning over…but I didn’t want to freak you out or make you stop. I almost touched myself right as I felt you cum on me,” She flexed her hips, pushing more firmly into him.
“God damn, you’re such a dirty girl,” He bit the back of her neck lightly as his hand snuck around and down the front of her panties, pleased to sink his fingers in the evidence of her arousal, “I didn’t mean to…but damn just touching you turned me on so fucking much,” He nipped and pulled at her earlobe with his teeth, “Cum for me, baby girl,” He softly commanded as his fingers toyed rhythmically with her clit. He knew from the tremors of her body that she was close.
His words were all that she needed as she bit her pillow to muffle some of the strained whimpers. Even if she was ticked off at him, Scott had a way of making her respond so easily that it made her forget why she was even upset.
As the aftershocks tingled across her body, she couldn’t take his teasing anymore.
“Scott, I need you…” she said, the words barely leaving her mouth before he was stripping her of her clothes. He wasn’t sure why he was so aroused, but he knew the moment he slipped inside of her that he was not going to last long. He started with quick, firm strokes, laying between her legs as they wrapped around his waist.
The way she dug her nails into his back didn’t help stall his stimulation. He felt those impulsive words battling their way out of his mouth, but he held them back, not believing they could be true. They were just words brought on by a passionate affair. There wasn’t much he wouldn’t say when he was buried to the hilt inside of her.
“Don’t stop…please…harder,” She begged, trying to stall her orgasm as long as possible to match his. She struggled to withstand the pleasure she felt, heightened by the heat and weight of his body laying firmly against her. She could tell he was losing control, his restraint was dwindling as he shortened his strokes, penetrating deep into her sex.
She cried out into his shoulder, the frantic pleasure coursing through her as she felt him pulsate inside of her. She loved the feeling. Damn Curt for not pulling out or using a condom…she preferred the feeling of a full cunt, damn the consequences. Thinking his name so soon after climaxing flooded her with an awkward sensation, but she shrugged it off as she relished Scott’s full weight over her. She loved the feeling of him over her. He barely supported himself on his forearms as he collected himself.
“Sorry baby, you got me pretty worked up…” He apologized for his short tenure, “Give me a little bit…I’ll make sure you’re taken care of,” he felt guilty now, not saying the words. Sure they were in the heat of passion, but he would have meant them. He could just as easily say them now in the afterglow. The way she was looking up adoringly at him, like he was the only man on earth should be good enough for her. But he didn’t want to say them only to have to take them back later when, as everything else had, it inevitably failed.
“Scott…it was amazing…and as long as I’m with you, I’m happy,” she ran her fingers tips along his cheek.
“I don’t deserve you,” He kissed the tip of her nose and then her lips lightly, “I’m just some dirty old man who can’t keep his hands off your beautiful, hot body,” He teased her a little. Brinkley laughed, pushing him off of her and to his back. She swung her leg over his hips, straddling him.
“You might be a dirty old man…but I have the same problem of keeping my hands off of you,” She ran her hands down from his shoulders over his broad chest and torso, “I can’t get enough of your body.”
Her praise went straight to his groin, surprising him that his spent cock ever so slightly twitched.
-----------------------------------
It was late as Curt walked back to his room. He had limited himself to two drinks and that had been hours ago. He knew he was walking to the wrong door, but he couldn't seem to will himself elsewhere.
He stood outside her door, staring at the room number.  He had no excuse to tell her why he was there. She would assume it was because he was horny and she wouldn't be wrong, but it wasn't the only reason. It was nearly 2am - she was probably sleeping. If he just knocked softly he wouldn't disturb her if she was asleep.
Just as he lifted his hand, the door cracked open slightly. He jumped and moved quickly around the hallway corner.
“No,  Scott…don't leave.  Just stay….pleeeeeease,” Brinkley begged in a sleepy, pleading voice.
“Are you sure baby?” Scott paused at the door, “I don't want to impose,” he joked,  not quite as tired.
“Shut up and come keep me warm,” she demanded, causing him to close the door.
Curt felt his heart racing. How could he not have considered Scott might be there. She did say they didn't always sleep together all night.  But he was guessing they did so more often than not and didn't realize how often it truly was.
It was a close call, he should take that as a hint to stay away. But he only seemed to think of how to be more careful next time.

OC lore drop
An overview of my OCs and the settings they belong to! The settings range from “fully-outlined/partially drafted novels that i genuinely intend to write one day” to “loose string of scenarios to put my guys in.”
Casey and Vincent
(she/her, he/him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Premise: Casey lives in the middle of nowhere Texas with an elderly woman (Margie) for whom she’s a live-in caretaker. Vincent shows up on her doorstep with a shovel in hand, asking if he can dig up something of his that’s buried on Margie’s land. Casey tells him no, and don’t come back. A few days later, while visiting a neighbor, Casey is attacked by monsters. They tear the neighbor to shreds and almost get Casey, but Vincent comes out of nowhere and distracts them while she runs for home. When she gets there, she realizes that the monsters can’t seem to cross the property line. Vincent gets badly injured, but Casey drags him to safety.
They are then stuck indefinitely on this square acre of land, unable to leave lest they get torn to shreds by the many-toothed creatures prowling the invisible barrier. Casey nurses Vincent back to health and in doing so realizes that he is definitely something Other Than Human. She also learns that he’s really weird, but really sweet, but mostly really weird. He starts to dig up the land but still won’t tell her what he’s looking for.
genre is romance and soft horror, very similar vibes to my tma fic "resigned" if you’ve read that. Vincent and Casey’s dynamic is p much "it's not body horror, not to me, not if it's you."
Max and Braiden
(both he/him)
Tumblr media
These two are from a story that was basically my highschool big brain take on "what if superpowers happened in the real world but people who had them got EXPERIMENTED ON??" That’s still the setting but the plot has taken a sharp turn into classic American road trip. Max has the power to generate, manipulate, and breathe various gasses, and Braiden can make copies of himself.
The basic premise is that, while escaping the facility where he’s been trapped for a number of years, Braiden meets Max for the first time. Max already knows him, however, and is in fact madly in love with him. It turns out that Max was in a relationship with one of Braiden’s copies who was recently killed, and meeting the Original(™) Braiden is the first time he finds out that there’s more than one of him. Cue lots of questions about nature/nurture, what makes a person inherently themself, and Star Trek style philosophical ponderings on the personhood of clones. All of this happens in a ragtop convertible against a backdrop of late summer highway.
(if braiden reminds you of my martin design, no he doesn’t <3 (actually he does because he is a character i put a lot of my own struggles with depression into, and his personality is adjacent to martin’s s5 I’m A Huge Bitch Because I Have Boundaries Now vibe, so martin ended up reminding me of him and i committed IP theft on myself about it))
Fantasy / DnD OCs
I’m bad at fantasy worldbuilding so i just kinda toss all of these guys into scenarios in my head and mix them like salad. I’m trying to put together something with a cowboy/western kind of energy but i haven’t gotten far <3
I have a group of OCs from a scrapped fantasy setting who I’ll add to this when I have more recent sketches for all of them. (If you’re wondering where the lesbians are. They are here. I’m sorry I don’t have more drawings of you on hand, lesbians)
More dnd OCs can be found just in my dnd tag but here are the honorable mentions:
August
(he/him)
Tumblr media
Half-elf bard. He has been the icon on my personal blog for years and, in retrospect, playing him was absolutely my first step towards questioning my gender. He has 18 intelligence and 10 wisdom. He once hooked up with an NPC and scored a 24 on his performance check. He even has a meme. Party on, king
Aurelian
(he/him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(2nd image is before i gave him horns. ft. fiancé Pesh, they/them)
Aurelian is a pirate. He’s an outlaw. He’s a horse girl. He’s been looking for his mysteriously vanished fiancé long enough that he has trouble picturing their face. He exists because I heard Chasing Twisters by Delta Rae and had to make a dnd character about it.
Vasha
(she/her)
Tumblr media
Angsty wild magic sorcerer who started as a hostile NPC when i DMed for some friends. Took on a life of her own and ended up in lesbians with the party’s orc fighter. Since that campaign ended I am trying to find her a gf like Mrs. Bennet matchmaking for her five daughters

Enhancing Road Safety: The Lifesaving Power of Convex Mirrors, Barricades, Road Safety Gloves, and LED Solar Blinkers
Improving security through innovation: The evolution of product security:
Introduction: In the realm of road safety, every precaution matters. From highways to city streets, the potential for accidents and hazards is ever-present. In this blog post, Nevertheless, with the advent of innovative road safety products, we now have the opportunity to mitigate risks and save lives. we’ll delve into the lifesaving capabilities of four key road safety products like  Convex Mirrors, Barricades, road safety gloves, and LED solar blinkers.
Convex Mirrors: Expanding Vision for Safer Roads Convex mirrors provide a wider field of view, particularly at blind spots and intersections, improving visibility for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to detect approaching vehicles and pedestrians from various angles. Blind spots are reduced and awareness is enhanced by convex mirrors, preventing the occurrence of accidents.
Barricades: Creating Safe Zones and Managing Traffic Barricades serve as essential tools for creating safe work zones, diverting traffic, and managing crowds during road construction, maintenance, or emergencies. Additionally, these barriers act as physical barriers, preventing vehicles and pedestrians from entering hazardous areas. Whether it’s redirecting traffic away from a construction site or delineating lanes during an event, barricades play an indispensable role in maintaining order and safety on the road.
Road Safety Gloves: Protecting Hands and Improving Visibility Specially designed road safety gloves offer protection and visibility for workers and cyclists, featuring reflective strips or high-visibility colors for enhanced visibility, even in low-light conditions. They also provide protection against abrasions, cuts, and impacts, reducing the risk of hand injuries.
LED Solar Blinkers: Enhancing Visibility and Signaling Self-contained, solar-powered devices equipped with LED lights that flash or blink to attract attention are LED solar blinkers. They are commonly used to mark hazards, delineate lanes, or provide warning signals to drivers and pedestrians. By enhancing visibility and signaling potential hazards, LED solar blinkers help reduce the risk of accidents, particularly in areas with poor lighting or visibility.
Conclusion: Innovation and technology are crucial for safer roads. Products like convex mirrors, barricades, safety gloves, and LED blinkers help save lives and prevent accidents. They expand vision, create safe zones, protect hands, and enhance visibility. Let’s prioritize road safety by embracing these innovative solutions for a safer future.

Guess who's stranded on the highway with a flat tire?
Do I know how to change a tire? Yes, I do. Is it safe to do it on the shoulder with no one else to keep an eye on the road? Nope. Not happening.
So while I wait for assistance (outside of the car, beyond the barriers and at a safe distance from said car, wearing a fluorescent yellow vest, with the triangle in place), I'm writing fanfic on the notes of my phone.
Because what else am I supposed to do for 45 minutes?
TL.DR: Road safety is important and you'll always have fanfic

more from my draco in mundane apocalypses universe. draco works as ground crew at vienna airport. please imagine him in a little red suit. this draco really likes droney post punk
4:45pm, Mazur Parking Lot
All disasters start a little bit before the moment they occur on paper, not in the sense of a chain of misfortunes and oversights that lead to some offending spark, but at the atomic level, as some unspeakable but tangible ghostly drawback of energy, trailing ahead of the wave that will inevitably surge up and cover the shore. The air really does crackle, birds do fly the other way. Draco's little Citroen, which had been brought to some mundane level of sentience as a byproduct of his magical core, felt the change inside its little banged up french-made chassis, something tightening, something bracing. The Vienna sky hung gray and perpetually unimpressed overhead, the smokestacks from the refinery reaching up to meet the thick, pillowy mesh of contrails and exhaust fumes and mist. Draco dug around the cupholder for the other end of the aux cord, thumbed at the wheel of his iPod until Godspeed joined the rumble of the engine, a chorus of real and recorded mechanical sounds at war with the silent world. The rear view mirror catches his eye, a flock of black birds surging up from the field and over the highway signs.
7:56am, G gates, Vienna Airport
The days Draco has to work the G gates are the hardest. Being part of the ground airline staff at any airport is a swift and effective way to take the magic out of air travel, particularly when one is doomed to a uniform so bright red it messes with the sensors on the automatic doors. But there's just something particularly dreary about this corner of Vienna Airport, hidden behind three sets of escalators and passport control, reserved for budget lines to non-European countries and extreme long haul flights. The sleepy passengers who needed to be nudged into action are enough to deal with, as are the secondary document checks and nonsensical codes he's forced to scribble on boarding passes, but when supplemented with an immeasurable range of national particularities and quirks, the entire experience becomes unbearably meaningless. From the impotent divination of picking a seat in advance, to the arbitrary membership cards and priority lines that get people to the same nowhere fast, the tyranny of this muggle, modern world weighs on Draco like a mountain on his chest while he rattles off the boarding script. There, too, lies more tyranny - his melodic, nasaly German, his precise, aristocratic English, both of which he is instructed to use as a kind of impenetrable and impatient barrier against passengers who more often than not consist of foreign workers and elderly immigrants and refugees, when they aren't diplomats and backpacking kids. He spends his G gate days turning away grandmothers with misspelled names on their documents, wrenching his arm out of the grip of elderly passengers in wheelchairs sent off to go home from various hospitals on their own. He's not entirely clear on the math, but he's fairly sure that when the Ministry banished him to the continent and snapped his wand in half, the idea wasn't that he should ever find himself in any position of power again, not in the least one so mundane. The airport safety alert chimes for the third time this hour - they play it more often up here. A teenage boy dressed in dirty clothes sits next to an armed federal policeman on the black plastic bench by the giant glass window facing the direction of the Danube. The sky is always hazy on this side, the smoke from the refinery by the airport rolling lazily both downstream and up into the sky.

Whirlpool Canyon, BC (No. 1)
When traveling the Alaska Highway and looking for a nice spot to stretch your legs, Whirlpool Canyon is a great option approximately 65 kilometers north of the Liard River Hot Springs. Situated in a narrow braided channel on the mighty Liard River, water flow slams into a series of shale banks and twists and turns through the canyon, churning up daunting whirlpools and eddies that are no place for boats or canoes.
The canyon is best viewed from the safety of the shore, and there is a parking area located just off the Alaska Highway that will lead to a short pathway down to the river bed. Walking to the left will lead up a to a higher vantage point above the canyon, and visitors will get a good perspective of the power of the great northern river. Use caution when walking along the cliffs above the canyon because there are no barriers or guard rails in place.
The Liard River flows through the Yukon, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories before entering the Mackenzie, where its flow is destined for the Arctic Ocean. It was instrumental in developing the north during the fur trade era, and it has been used as a mode of transportation for First Nations since time immemorial. Whirlpool Canyon is a great place to view the Liard River at its best. The area also features a good abundance of wood bison that are mostly found in this part of British Columbia.
Special Notes: There is no signage indicating where to turn off the highway to access Whirlpool Canyon. When traveling north from the Liard Hot Springs, the parking lot will be located on the left side of the highway approximately 9 kilometers past the Coal River bridge. The parking area is quite large and suitable for larger RV traffic or trailers.

The World is Mine (Whole World Ahead)- Samm Henshaw for Mammon
Oooo this is a cool song! I've never heard it before but it definitely has a good beat!
Let's see what I can come up with for Mammon!
Also, for anyone who wants to listen to the song as they read this, click here to listen to it off of YouTube.
•▪︎▪︎◇°●♡●°◇▪︎▪︎•
The couple was dancing in the entry hall of House of Lamentation; they couldn't help it. MC was so excited that that they just broke out in dance and their boyfriend couldn't help joining in.
Today was the day, baby!
The two were headed to the Human realm! They were leaving the Devildom for awhile to go on a road trip through the Human realm! It was a hell of a thing to convince Lucifer to let them go. In truth, the oldest brother didn't want or expect them to go.
Those two begged and complained nonstop (and boy were they good at it) till Lucifer finally agreed--with one stipulation. The two could go to the Human realm for the summer if they could behave from the next five months without incident
And boy, was that so freaking hard (both trying to behave and covering up the things they did...), but they did it! The pride demon was honestly shocked and knew he must of missed something, but without any proof, he had no choice but to fulfill his end of the agreement.
Lucifer watched the two dance in the otherwise silent room, sighing and shaking his head.
"Alright, enough." He told them, holding his hand out. "Now give me your wrists."
Psyched, MC quickly gave the man their arm and watched him draw the rune on their wrist.
For safety reasons (for those in the Human realm), there was a hefty security in place to prevent people from traveling between the Devildom and the Human realm. If they had major traffic between the two worlds planned, they'd simply take down the barrier for a minute to let people come and go.
For something as simple as Mammon and MC spending their summer on a road trip in the Human realm though, all that was needed was this rune to bypass the barrier, which only worked if Luce or Diavolo was the scripter (but of course, Barbatos also had the ability to do so in Dia's place)
"Now make sure you are back by the end of July or so help me, I'm not against sending a search party out for you two--"
"Oh c'mon! We'll be back on time!" Mammon assured his brother as MC's rune was finished. The second brother offered up his own wrist. "You worry too much."
"And I better not get a call that you broke any laws over there." Lucifer warned, starting on his brother's wrist, careful with the intricate design. "The slightest sign of trouble and you're both coming home."
"Luce, we'll be fine!" MC assured the very stressed man. "We'll see you at the end of July."
Finished with Mammon's rune, Lucifer sighed and released his brother's arm.
"Just...be careful, alright?"
The couple nodded in unison. Lucifer felt like he was releasing ducklings to the wolves and he couldn't tell if the two headaches in front of him were the ducklings or the wolves.
The pride demon took a deep breathe.
"Alright, your car should be there when you get to the other realm." He told them. "There should be no one around to see you two appear so you should just be able to get in your car and go."
"Hell yeah!" Both Mammon and MC's faces lit up again and the two goofs started dancing again.
Lucifer sighed at the sight before (somewhat regrettably) saying the incantation and followed it with a snap.
And the two were suddenly on a vacant highway strip in the Human realm with Mammon's car right next to them.
Not even bothering to open the doors, the couple jumped into the convertible and Mammon stuck in the keys and hit the gas.
"WHOOO!" MC threw their hands in the air, enjoying the speed and the wind through their hair.
Devil, it was just so exciting! Finally, the human was back in their realm with their boyfriend!
Their scream was all the encouragement he needed to go faster. MC reached over and turned on the radio.
Get away from where we came from
Where we'll end up, I don't know
We got the whole world ahead and the old world behind
Nothing in the rear view but wasted time
Steal my heart, I promise I won't tell
This was already so perfect! As the couple sped down the highway, it felt like there was nothing they couldn't do--
Police sirens. This quickly?
"Shit..." Mammon cussed under his breath. He hated dealing with human cops. "Hey babe, can you get that card and paperwork outta that drawer there?"
MC opened the compartment in front of them and sifted through the trash and random papers. There was one problem though.
"Babe, they aren't in here."
"What?? Waddya mean they aren't in there?!??!"
Shit. Mammon probably left them on the stand next to his bed last and forgot to put them in the glove box.
Devil, this was such a pain! What was he gonna do now???
.....
......
"Eh, fuck it." The man slammed on gas even harder.
"Mammon!!!"
"Relax!" He grinned at the human. "I won't let that big, bad coppa catch up to us!"
Tail me, if you dare
Ride 'till there's no road left
Coppers in our trail
Would you follow me over the edge, darling?
The greed demon was all full of confidence--till they reached a broken bridge up ahead.
"Sh-shit!" Okay, now he was panicking.
"Mammon do something!!!" The human started slapping his shoulder, begging him to change course.
Instead, the car ran into the barrier and then up through the air. Both were using their entire lung compacity for their current scream.
Somehow, the two landed on the other side, completely unharmed.
Other than the sound of the radio, it was completely silent between the two for a full minute.
"I could have died." MC said, still in complete shock.
"I could have wrecked my car."
The two turned to look at each other, a smile slowly raising on each of their faces.
Suddenly, MC grabbed their boyfriend's shirt and pulled them in for a kiss, both of them high off of whatever the hell that bullshit they just went through was.
This was gonna be a fun road trip.
You're the whole world and the world is mine
You're the whole world and the world is mine
You're the whole world and the world is mine
Bonus! Three days later.
The couple was finally hunted down by the police and was given one phone call when brought to the jail.
"Yeah so...we need bail. And probably a lawyer." Mammon said reluctantly into the phone.
Lucifer was at his desk, pinching the bridge of his nose as he held the phone up to his ear with the other hand.
This poor man could feel a headache coming on.

Too Salty to Geaux Home
Corrosion is a natural process that occurs when certain materials are exposed to environmental factors such as moisture, oxygen, and salt. In the case of Louisiana, the presence of saltwater greatly contributes to corrosion in various structures and equipment.
The state of Louisiana is known for its extensive coastline and abundant waterways, making it highly susceptible to saltwater corrosion. The combination of saltwater and the warm, humid climate creates an ideal environment for corrosion to occur. Saltwater contains dissolved salts, primarily sodium chloride, which increases the conductivity of the water. This increased conductivity accelerates the corrosion process, leading to the deterioration of metal structures.
One of the most significant impacts of saltwater corrosion in Louisiana is on the state's infrastructure, particularly bridges and highways. Louisiana has a vast network of bridges and roadways that are constantly exposed to saltwater due to their proximity to coastal areas and water bodies. The saltwater corrodes the steel and concrete used in the construction of these structures, weakening their integrity and posing a safety risk.
In addition to infrastructure, saltwater corrosion also affects offshore oil and gas platforms, which are crucial to Louisiana's economy. These platforms are constantly exposed to saltwater, which corrodes the metal components and pipelines. Corrosion in this industry can lead to leaks, spills, and environmental damage, as well as costly repairs and maintenance.
Another area where saltwater corrosion has a significant impact is in the maritime industry. Louisiana has a thriving port system, with numerous ships and vessels constantly navigating its waterways. The saltwater environment accelerates the corrosion of the metal hulls and other components of these vessels, increasing maintenance costs and reducing their lifespan.
To combat saltwater corrosion, various preventive measures are taken in Louisiana. One common method is the application of protective coatings on metal surfaces. These coatings act as a barrier, preventing direct contact between the metal and the saltwater. Regular inspections and maintenance are also conducted to identify and address any signs of corrosion before they worsen.
Furthermore, research and development efforts are underway to develop corrosion-resistant materials and technologies. These advancements aim to enhance the durability and longevity of structures and equipment in saltwater environments. Additionally, education and awareness programs are implemented to educate individuals about the importance of corrosion prevention and the proper maintenance of structures and equipment.
In conclusion, saltwater corrosion is a significant issue in Louisiana due to the state's extensive coastline and waterways. The combination of saltwater and the warm, humid climate creates an ideal environment for corrosion to occur. This corrosion affects various aspects of the state's infrastructure, offshore oil and gas platforms, and maritime industry. Preventive measures such as protective coatings, regular inspections, and research into corrosion-resistant materials are essential in mitigating the impact of saltwater corrosion. By addressing this issue, Louisiana can ensure the longevity and safety of its structures and equipment in saltwater environments.
