No, because he’s canonically aroace. And imagine what would happen if (grabs random gay couple that’s canon) someone wrote a straight Henry from Red white and royal blue and shipped him with June: outrage and more then a little hate under posts about it. If that’s what would happen with a canon gay character then I fucking expect the same from a canon aroace character. I’m sorry you can’t ship this single character get the fuck over it

It’s an erasure of representation. Take any canon queer character and ship them with someone that doesn’t fit their canon sexuality and watch the fallout.

Treat aspec characters the way you would treat a canon gay/queer/trans/FUCKING ANYTHING character!!

That’s not to say you can’t build on an a character’s canon sexuality. for example, you could make it so Alaster is aroace flux, or that he’s grayromantic and aegosexual and also bi!

I believe if you do write him without him being aroace, then it’s a bigger issue then if you build off his pre-existing sexuality!

Acknowledging the fact that he’s aspec canonically in an authors notes would also be good

I believe that if you speak another one that isn't already there it will take longer for him to learn these since languages can differ so much from each other and if he hadn't even heard a single word in it... Yeah... (I mean, compare some languages and you see that their sentence structure are completely different)

First of all, thank you so much for loving the au, it's kind of getting demotivating a bit to see the fandom slow down but I'll ALWAYS have modern! coryo brain rot. So, I guess someday I'll be shouting into the void lmao.

I do think that when it comes to preferences, he does prefer chubbier people. He's one of those guys that likes being able to just really grab and slap anything and everything because you've got more than enough meat on your bones. Also, idk how to quite explain it, but I think he enjoys what he believes is a more realistic (?) body, like he'd deadass get so offended if you thought you had to shave or cover up stretch marks. He comes from a very superficial world where the beauty standards are impossible to achieve (edit: i’m NOT talking about being skinny being impossible, i’m talking about general beauty standards and having an unrealistically proportioned body like the ones in media, i’m aware that skinny people exist) . It's like how for a while, Aphrodite and other similar goddesses were depicted in media as very skinny but when you look back at how they were actually worshiped, there are statues and carvings and etc. with belly rolls and all kinds of versions of bigger bodies. That's what reader's body reminds him of, gets him feel closer to God and all that.

I'll get to some actual kinks in a second, but I do think he likes more of a reluctant person. He's someone that is built for the chase and that really revels in the wooing process, he'd never been in love before you, so the rush of intense feelings kicks his adrenaline into overdrive. It's a sort of predator/prey thing without being a full-blown kink, Coryo stalks and he circles around you until you're given such a small window of escape that you already missed your chance by the time he decides that he's done waiting around. You have the whole cutesy 'will they? won't they?' thing going for a bit until you just don't anymore.

In my head, modern!coryo's reader is a virgin for that exact purpose lol like he does have a fuck boy past that's typical for his place in society, so I just love the idea of sex suddenly becoming so "special" to him now that he's possessed with the need to mold your experience around him so you could never be satisfied by anyone else. I think he'd want to keep some of that shyness and insecurity no matter how much experience he gives you, so he can reassure you and praise you and tell you to suck on his fingers so the stretch of his cock won't be all you can think about.

He does favor praise over degradation but when he does degrade it's more... positive (???) in his eyes, calling you dumb because he wants you know you don't have to be smart, saying you're his slutty whore because he wants you to feel comfortable enough being as nasty as possible with him, etc. No matter what name he calls you, he's adding 'my' in front of it. The words will be the same, but his tone will change based on if you're driving him crazy (basically if he gets jealous for no reason again)

I also think that's he way more of a Dom type, he'll never go into extreme type stuff and he's more of a gentle Dom depending on the situation that led up to you fucking or making love. My modern!coryo is never going to let you have more control than letting you ride him (and you always end up getting tired, so he has to take over, which he is more than happy to do!). His control issues are severe like they are in canon, he's exhausted trying to hold himself back from just losing it on everybody. So, having a stress toy of an s/o that he can micromanage and love without limits does wonders for his mental health.

He's obviously obsessed with spanking/LIGHT impact play. The only bruises you'll get will be from him squeezing you too hard or littering your body with hickies, he'd bite you to pieces too but he likes to think that he has some sense of decorum.

He could get behind silk bondage, whether it's patterns on your body or spreading you out on the bed with your ankles and wrists tied to the bed frame. the wedding celebration of Yna and Gia last night. the loml officiated the wedding (unexpectedly) and we had a blast singing our hearts out on karaoke. drinking all the open beer (it was a lot. i assure you) and saying "cheers" everytime someone breathes HAHAHAHAHA it was a fun night. pale pilsen and fundador all night. bonded & met with new friends last night, too. to more bonding moments~

Feeling

excited for our future. the possibilities of having a wedding. or to be married tovthe love of my life. ahhh. I'm feeling excited! I've been thinking a lot about last night, too. i feel that my friends needs to be with me when we get married. so i need to work hard to bring them here with me or to go to them. lol

hihi..I think I'm seeing a lot. of repeating angel numbers. 111, 222, 444, 333 888 stuff like that. I feel like shifting isn't real though, and thats the reason why I cant shift (cause its not real) how do I.. fix this mindset? Subliminals dont seem to.. do much. for me. And I'm also scared after seeing a tumblr post (iykyk) of a "shifter" be like "ya i faked lmao its all fake" and worried everyones just. lying. I don't know what to do. I mean I'd like to think ur legit but like idk anymore....

TO START I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT MY LOVE IF IT FEELS SMOTHERING AT LEAST TAKE A BREAK

if the mindset is what you think is holding you back, i recommend taking a break from actually attempting to shift. try to distract yourself first. maybe consume content, do some of your favourite hobbies, self-care, or even vent. find an outlet. sometimes, you can try to forget about it at first. that's completely alright. i did the same thing for a few weeks in early 2021, and focused on getting my life back together before anything else. do some things you enjoy, and just breathe for a while.

those angel numbers serve not only as guidance, but also as a reminder of your shifting journey. even if you're not feeling well at the moment, know that it's not forever. angel numbers, even if they seem insignificant sometimes, could do a lot for confidence.

not everything one person does has to work for other people. if subliminals don't seem to do anything for you, that's alright. there are other ways to restart and redirect.

here's a few tips i could give:

(1) 3 positive changes

one tip i found for fixing your mindset is to retrain your brain by noticing 3 positive changes in your day. instead of looking at what's going wrong, focus at what's already there. it doesn't necessarily have to be about shifting—if something made you happy today, take some time to appreciate it. your relationships, your everyday activities and interactions, and the way you take care of yourself. you did it. you can do it. accept the change, and acknowledge what you've been given. take some time to feel good about it, to be assured.

(2) - law of assumption || self-affirmation

another way is to make use of the law of assumption. don't focus on getting the results, assume you have them already and are making plans on what to do with them now that they're there. you can also add in some self-affirmations here. even if they sound a bit arrogant, so long as they make you feel validated, and aren't actually harming you. live like you already have your desired reality; sometimes, a bit of a forceful push is what you need.

(3) - try to take advantage of a weakness

this is somewhat related to the first tip! for example; instead of feeling restricted by a short attention span, use it to go all out and visualise several scenarios in your DR. or, if you feel like you don't know how to visualise well, try making a moodboard or writing/reading a scenario about your DR to at least immerse you more. instead of thinking things to be weaknesses, compensate for them. if you can't fix it, then work your way around it. again, think of what's already there, but make a way and build on it. for every flaw or mistake you find, think of 2 more things you could do to better yourself.

i don't know what else to tell you, to make your time with it be more worthwhile, but what i can say is that the pain isn't always for nothing. a person's shifting journey isn't always going to be rainbows, and sometimes, it really feels like nothing's going to happen at all. but all i could suggest is patience—even if it isn't what you wanted to hear. there will be a day for you, and it's only yet to come.
