also this fcking man literally spent money and I mean MONEY. To have Dean’s favorite song play at the end of the episode while John and Mary were driving in the car and her quoting off of Dean. The tears will never stop flowing tbh.

Watching "Dream A Little Dream of Me" SPN S3 E10
I love the variety sets. It's probably one of my favourite things about SPN that they can have such a wide and interesting variety of episode styles and sets and in this episode there are a strong handful of gorgeous, interesting settings! Really makes an episode pop.
Thinking about how Dean meets himself in his dream, makes me think... In reality, most of the time, we are the only person to know ourselves that clearly and I can totally see a real-life model for the situation of Dean verbally and emotionally and mentally abusing himself, because he knows. He knows all the deep fears and feelings of failure that he has. He knows the things he hates about himself and he's just speaking them out loud. In normal life, isn't this just so common? When you're in a spot of bad mental health, your brain can be the cruelest thing. You can live with regrets and fears and feelings of failure for so long. Some even hold them for their entire lives.
One last observation... I keep thinking at the back of my mind, about the way they keep talking about how Dean is going to Hell and how they have to do something to save him. And it casts an odd shadow on the belief Biblical Christianity holds that all people are heading to eternal life in Hell after death if they don't recieve salvation. In SPN they talk about 'finding a way to save Dean' and in reality Christians' message is exactly that. Salvation from Hellfire through the cross. It's rather interesting. It just seems odd to hear people (characters) talk so seriously about trying to escape such an end when I am far more used to people ignoring the question alltogether or ridiculing such a "notion" or "belief." It would be really nice if your average person could take such a serious look at their eternal destination, to be honest. Funny how a non-godly, very much non-Christian TV show gets things so much more right than real, normal people sometimes.

Just finished S3 E11 "Mystery Spot"
Just gonna say that this was probably the most attractive I've seen Sam in a full episode lol
Also this one messed with my head. Ew.
But I do enjoy seeing the Trickster lol and I'd be sad if he ever did get killed. Far as I know, he sticks around for a long, long time though hehe.
----
Watched S3 E12 "Jus in Bello"
Good, solid episode. Nothing particularly note-worthy, except for the big fight with the demon horde. That was an epic finish.
Oh, and I liked the moment when the bad-guy/good-guys finally realised that Sam and Dean weren't (well, not techinally but anyway...) criminals and that the demon thing was real and all. That was such a satisfying turn-around. There wasn't the standard "I can't believe this, oh my gosh" thing. At least the cop that had been tracking them would have known enough about what they were about to not need a bunch of filling in and the others just went along with it. It was an interesting and well-achieved change in character dynamics.

SPN Conspiracies - Applying Logic to Chaos
Its been over 2 months now since the Supernatural finale aired. I am still so angry, hurt, and confused by it and I don’t think I will ever get closure unless someone like Andrew Dabb, or Jensen Ackles, actually opens up and gives us an explanation that makes sense.
What annoys me most right now is people trying to gaslight fans into believing that we should accept the narrative we have been given at face value: That the finale was always planned to be that way, that Destiel was never on the cards, that there was no Network interference, that the only changes made were due to covid and were minor at best.
This harmful gaslighting is FALSE.
NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED.
Look, I don’t agree with some of the crazier conspiracy theories. I don’t believe that there was some huge campaign among the CW Network execs to remove anything remotely gay out of homophobia. I don’t believe that the finale was changed because of some desire to make it into a Walker promo. I don’t believe that the finale was really bad on purpose in protest by Dabb for not getting to do an ending he truly wanted. I don’t believe that Dabb left us smart fans a bunch of secret messages in the finale to hint that he was on our side all along and that everything was fake.
I do, however, believe that all of these conspiracy theories have some elements in them that are plausible. At least, more plausible than the bullshit narrative mentioned above that some people are pushing in some desperate attempt to defend the Network (which imo is really strange behaviour anyway - why would anyone care about a TV network with a history of terrible behaviour?!?)
We have facts, based on information provided before the covid lockdown, which for some reason, people like Misha have since backpeddled on. So let me try to outline some of the information that makes no sense.
Below the cut I go on a deep dive into the conspiracies and statements I have heard about the SPN finale and try to make some sense of this whole fucked up situation. It gets long.
1. “Cas was never gonna be in the finale”.
False: We have many fan accounts of Misha confirming that he was filming the finale. We have video evidence of Misha confirming he was going back to film the finale after the lockdown. We have confirmation from fans in Misha M&Gs from March that he had about 5 days of filming left.
We also had fan accounts of discussions with Alex Calvert (I think) where he confirmed the final shot of the final episode was all four of them though I would LOVE if someone can find a source for this.
2. Okay, Misha was gonna be in the finale, but only as Jimmy Novak
False: I heavily side eyed Misha when he said this. But I think I can come up with a plausible explanation for it. Per above, Misha was supposed to film for 5 days. This does not align with the half a day he described of filming as Jimmy Novak. My own belief is that after Cas was cut from the finale (for whatever reason we don’t know) someone (probably Jensen Ackles) put up a fight and complained that Misha should be there for the final episode. The writers probably tried to come up with a way to bring Misha back without having to deal with Cas, and pitched the idea of Jimmy Novak being in Heaven. Misha, obviously annoyed about this, turned this stupid pitch down.
3. Destiel was never a thing, never planned, never part of Dabb’s ending. Bobo and Misha pushing the confession was the part of the season that was Wrong.
False: We have a SPN writer on record saying that Castiel’s confession was the first thing written for Season 15 when the writers returned to the writers room. If it wasn’t planned, why was it the first thing written, why does it align so well with the rest of season 15? Look I know some people either a. hate destiel and refuse to see it even if it slaps them in the face, or b. have major heteronormative goggles on, or c. are just homophobes in denial, but 15x18 fits in perfectly with the narrative of season 15. Everything Cas says, everything that happened in that scene was so in character it just works. It fit. If you just rewatch the season whilst applying some critical thinking skills and pay attention to the narrative and character arcs, trust me, the confession fits in with pretty much every other plot point, and character story in the season.
Also: We have known for a while that the network did market research into Destiel, wanting to know if it would go down well or not. They were well aware of its popularity and considering it. Where would this have come from if not pitched by the showrunner? Dabb must have at least been considering it. If you take all of Dabb era into consideration, starting with mid season 11, all the way through the season 12 build up, season 13 grief arc, and then Bobo’s Destiel break up arc in late season 14, early season 15, it is clear that there was some toing and froing on the issue of Destiel, but ultimately, I still believe that Dabb was on board. He wrote 13x01 for christs sake. No way he wasn’t taking it seriously.
 4. It’s always been about the brothers. The finale just stays true to what Supernatural is all about.
*rubs temples* Fundamentally FALSE: The show has time and again reasserted the message of “Family don’t end with blood”, as well as the messages of AKF and YANA. Sam and Dean may be at the heart of the show, but a heart can’t exist without a body to support it. Without bones, and lungs, and blood, and muscles, and a BRAIN. The finale abandons the shows core messages. It forces the characters back into their season 1 characterisations and the whole thing becomes hollow and souless. But I’m not here to complain, I’m here to lay down the facts. Dean’s heaven was supposed to be surrounded by loved ones right? We know OG Charlie Bradbury was gonna be in his Heaven, we also know CAS was gonna be in there. So this idea that the finale as it currently stands was how it was meant to be is wrong. Dean was supposed to die and reunite with his found family and loved ones. This alone would have been a far better ending than the one given. Do I think this was solely a covid issue? Fuck no.
The randoms that WERE in the finale are proof alone that they could have got people in and quarantined. We also have several actors on record saying that they WOULD have quarantined for the finale had they been asked to return but they WEREN’T.
Lies have been told. Samantha Ferris and Chad Limberg have confirmed that we have been lied to about the original plans for the finale.
This alone is proof enough that there is more plausibility in some of the conspiracy theories than any bullshit narrative some people are pushing in defence of the barbaric mess of a finale we were given.
So lets address some of the conspiracy theories now:
Conspiracy No.1: The CW Network reviewed Supernatural during the covid break, and due to homophobia, refused any Destiel arc that wasn’t already filmed, shut down any potential reciprocation from Dean, and forced Dabb to change his finale.
I don’t think this is entirely what happened. But I do think it is very strange how there is a such a huge disconnect particularly in Dean’s characterisations between what had come before the lockdown, and what came after. The one fact we have here, and please someone provide a source if you can find it because I know there is one, the finale script was still going through changes up to only 2 weeks before it was filmed. We know that there was some weird editing in 15x18 (which was still in post and uncompleted before lockdown) and we know from Jensen’s own mouth that there was more to the confession scene on Dean’s side that was cut. We also know that this isn’t the first time that Destiel heavy moments have been changed in post - the prayer scene is another big scene that went through a lot of changes and Bobo fought to have his script play out the way he wanted it.
There are certain things that in my own opinions, are basically true of SPN which I have put together from years of keeping one eye on the writers room, the network, and all the various comments made. My opinion is this:
The writers room has always been split on Destiel. Some writers heavily supported making it canon, others did not care, or were against it.
The Network considered it over the course of several years, did market research, green lit it, then changed their minds, possibly several times over the course of Dabb’s era. Destiel was pitched to the Network early in Dabb era.
The crew on set were also split. Some people heavily supported it, and worked to assist the reading, whereas others did not care/did not support it. The same can be said for the editing room.
Bob Singer supported the subtextual homoeroticism, but never supported bringing it into text (this is an opinion, but I think it aligns with everything we know about him.) IMO Bob Singer also supported subtextual homoeroticism between Sam and Dean - the guy is gross is what I’m saying. He isn’t exactly a progressive person.
Fun fact - a while back our old enemy Sera Gamble went on a Twitter rant about writers rooms and the ways a script goes through changes. I don’t think this was in relation to the SPN finale wank but she basically inadvertantly confirmed that the Network can step in and make sweeping changes to a script if they want to and if they decide they don’t like the direction of a story. Sera Gamble confirmed this as a fact.
Now. I’m not saying that this is what the CW did with Destiel. I just think its very strange how pre lockdown, the last thing filmed is a heartfelt homosexual declaration of love between Dean and Cas, and we have a finale script that Misha had not seen, but knew that he was meant to film as Castiel for 5 days (5 days on set is over half of an episode as far as I know). Then all of a sudden, Covid happens, and Cas is cut from the finale completely, a desperate attempt to bring Misha back only as Jimmy Novak takes place, which Misha rightly refuses, leading to a finale which makes zero sense narratively and appears in every way completely and utterly butchered.
The only explanation provided by anyone involved is that Covid meant changes had to happen - but that covid didn’t change the actual story at all.
But this makes no sense because we know that Cas was cut from the finale. This is FACT. Do not let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise. Misha was preparing to quaranting to return to set as Cas post Covid, so whatever happened to cut Cas from the finale, it wasn’t Covid.
I’m gonna have to Occum’s Razor this and say that the most logical explanation here is the one that is most likely true. Someone got cold feet with the Destiel story, and to prevent any possible interpretation that included Dean reciprocating, any hints of Destiel were removed from the finale script, including Castiel’s whole appearance.
Now, this isn’t me saying I think that Dabb’s original finale was full of Destiel love confessions and a homosexual kiss or whatever, but I am asking you all to really think about it and ask yourselves WHY Cas would have been totally cut from an episode he was supposed to be in at LEAST half of?
We will probably never know the real reason Cas was cut, but he WAS cut. I’m not saying it was all homophobia, but some fuckery went down.
Conspiracy No. 2: The CW Network changed the finale to make it into a Walker promo because they only cared about raising up Jared and not Jensen and Misha as they were losing them anyway.
I don’t agree with this in terms of the finale being butchered solely to make it into a Walker promo. There are however moments in the finale that are clearly supposed to be Walker Easter Eggs and added to excite fans of Jared/Sam in particular such as Sam’s gratuitous and unnecessary topless scene, as well as the call on the “case in Austin”.
I will take this moment to say something pretty damn controversial though.
*Deep breath*
The fact is, Dean Winchester has been the “lead” character of Supernatural’s narrative for years now, with Sam often being sidelined and not given great storylines himself. Even in Season 15, right up until the finale, I myself felt bad for Sam sometimes because so much of this show has become all about Dean. Jensen Ackles is clearly the better actor when it comes to emotional story arcs, so the emotional heart of the story has most often leant on him.
So you can understand my confusion, when this is turned on its head in the final episode, to make Sam carry all the emotional weight, and have the most lines/screentime, and story resolution (even if his story resolution was just as crappy as Dean’s).
If we pretend that Destiel is not a thing, and ignore Cas’s confession, the story change in the finale from Dean focus to Sam focus is still rather suspicious. Again, I’m not saying I completely approve of or agree to the conspiracy theory that Walker influenced the butchering of the script, but I can believe that perhaps a note went down from the CW to someone like Bob Singer, to emphasise Sam/Jared more than they perhaps would normally, because the CW wanted to shine the spotlight on Jared to raise excitement for Walker.
I can also believe this note might have said something like “we wanna cater to fans of Sam/Jared the most - don’t do anything to piss them off.” but now I am getting into my own conspiracy theories so by all means dismiss this as me being bitter.
Conspiracy No.3: Dabb purposely made it bad, as a secret message to Destiel fans that he had been silenced, by layering meta clues into the episode that he knew fans would notice.
I doubt this one is true. Though some of the theories are quite compelling. The old vampire silent movie theory for instance starts off quite well, but loses me the moment it brings up Urban Dictionary slang.
Sometimes I have just had to accept that Supernatural is a bad show that is sometimes accidentally a masterpiece. However, some writers really did go That Deep with their stories - anything by Ben Edlund or Steve Yockey for instance, their episodes are meta masterpieces with a hundred different layers of beautiful subtextual storytelling and are a joy to analyse. Bobo Berens has certainly done some A+++ work especially now we KNOW that he was working hard all this time to bring Destiel to canon text (so any analysis of Destiel in the subtext in his episodes is very accurate). There have been many other key elements analysed over the years which have been confirmed true. Cas’s death in Season 12, Dean’s time as a demon in season 10, Season 11 ending in unity of dark and light, these were all plot points predicted by meta writers just by analysing the narrative. Sometimes the writers really have been very smart and they do add things to the show to aid us in our meta.
Richard Speight Jr for instance, confirmed that SPN has a visual library that the production team use to give clues and hints in the narrative. Pizza, for example, always means a lie has been told. Whenever Pizza is being eaten or even just mentioned on screen, there is dishonesty in that particular moment.
The beers also have a very specific message and the one thing I can’t let go about the finale, was that Dean was drinking El Sol beer. The beer his dad gave him, that was terrible.
El Sol has been used in the show to indicate something being wrong, a fake reality, or another lie, for the longest time. It is the beer of deception.
The fact that in the final episode of this entire show, Dean is in Heaven, supposedly at peace, and then he gets handed an El Sol beer to drink? Thats a HUGE red flag for any meta writer watching who can read SPNs visual library.
If they had given him the Margiekugel beer of family then it would make sense. Dean is in Heaven, with Bobby, his family, at peace. Margiekugel should have been the beer of choice. But nope. El Sol. Something is wrong.
I don’t know if it was Dabb, or Singer, or some disgruntled ADs and crew members who added these elements into the finale, but their very presence confirms some message of Wrongness.
I could go into a huge rant about Vampire Mimes not making sense and the very glaringly obvious symbolism of cutting out peoples tongues too, but that is high school level film analysis. It’s obvious. It means to silence someone. There is validity in interpreting this as Dabb saying he was silenced. I don’t know how true it is, but i can’t 100% dismiss it, because as I said, this is high school analysis levels of obvious subtextual storytelling.
So in summary, whilst I don’t think that Dabb intentionally went out of his way to sabotage his own script, and leave a breadtrail of secret messages for savvy fans to put together to confirm that he was silenced by an evil network into not getting what he wanted... I do think that there is validity in questioning these odd choices for the finale. Cutting out tongues? Vampire Mimes? El Sol beer?
The evidence is somewhat compelling is all I’m saying. I don’t believe the full conspiracy theories, but as I have said many times before, some fuckery went down.
So What Do I Believe?
That some fuckery went down and whatever company line they are pushing is bullshit.
I believe that the original script included Cas (since thats fact). I believe that the original script probably always had Dean dying on a vampire hunt (due to Jensen’s issues with it and in particular, his sarcastic comments about vampires in the past year or so which in hindsight are hilarious and prove he never really came to terms with Dean’s idiotic death). I believe Dabb’s original script was some less crappy version of what we got, which potentially included showing Jack rescuing Cas from the Empty and resolving the outstanding Empty plot points (potentially this was actually a 15x19 plot since Mark P commented that his final scenes were supposed to be with Jack and Cas), had Cas reunite with Dean in Heaven and had them have a discussion about Cas’s confession. I believe that there was probably a lot of back and forth over how to handle that with some people wanting Dean to obviously reciprocate and others believing they should keep it ambiguous. I believe that Dean and Cas would have reunited with Charlie Bradbury, and Bobby Singer, and possibly others (though if this was the case it must have been very early on since no one ever looped in Sam Ferris, Chad Linberg or any other Roadhouse people).
I believe that Sam’s ending probably didn’t change much, but I do feel that initially they were planning on him ending up with Eileen, because it is the only thing that narratively makes sense. Cutting Eileen and giving him a blurry wife is something I won’t ever understand and Jared’s bullshit explanations are quite clearly pulled out of his ass to appease bronly types. I believe the reunion on the bridge would have included Cas and Jack, with a final shot of all four of them together, at peace (as this aligns with Alex’s comments from around a year or so ago that the final shot was all four of them). (I also am not sure it was always supposed to be on a bridge since the foreshadowing in an earlier episode showed Dean, Cas and Sam all in the Roadhouse together).
I believe that script went through countless changes and redrafts, and not even production people or the types that some fandom people claim as their “sources” would even have seen those early scripts, since even Misha never saw it. I believe that these rumours of Dabb never having Cas in his finale and ignoring all Destiel elements likely come from people who only saw later versions, weren’t party to network discussions and felt bitter about the final scripts they did see (being the crappy butchered one that was ultimately filmed). Those “sources” are now spreading rumours to discredit Dabb.
I obviously believe Dabb is a weak ass pushover who either didn’t care enough to fight back, or gave up since he’s been stuck with fucking Bob Singer on his back for years, but I will NEVER believe he didn’t care about the DeanCas love story, because he has been one of the few writers who has championed for it for years. You can’t look back at Dabb’s episodes in earlier seasons and claim he didn’t care. Dabb was a writer whose creative ideas were beaten out of him by an unforgiving Network only concerned about where their future money was coming from. Do I think he gave up too easily? Yes. But I also have one other huge reason for not believing the bullshit about Dabb being this anti-Destiel villain.
Bobo. Because if Bobo truly believed Dabb was gonna fuck that up at the end, I don’t think he would have given us Cas’s love confession to begin with. If he had known it was gonna end like that, I think he would have reconsidered, because had Cas not confessed his love, I don’t think he would have been cut from the finale. Bobo - a gay man, would not have wanted such a horrible message for queer fans being put across in the show he worked so hard on. He started writing that confession scene the day they returned to the writers room. Dabb would have been there, would have seen what he was writing, probably discussed it with him, after all, other episodes were written with the confession in mind. No way was Dabb planning to fuck up the ending knowing what Bobo was giving us. Nope.
Something went very wrong over lockdown. Someone, somewhere up the chain of power caught wind of the confession scene in 15x18, realised that it demanded a resolution which would make Dean Winchester, their protagonist, queer, and pulled the plug. I believe this did not come from a place of homophobia, but of bad business sense.
The CW is constantly trying to win the approval and attention of the one demo group that they seem to fail at getting the most: young straight men. Supernatural was one of their only remaining shows that appeals to young straight men, and Dean Winchester is more often than not the fave character of those young straight men who project onto him. Making Dean Winchester, established Han Solo of Supernatural, queer and in love with his best friend in the finale would have come across as a betrayal to those young straight men. The CW probably feared they would lose that demo group for good, and with a show like Walker starting soon with Jared at the helm, they couldn’t take the risk.
Hence there was probably a whole bunch of back and forth script redrafts with the Network, with Dabb and Singer fighting to make a finale that would appeal to everyone. There was most likely no way that they could bring Cas back without addressing what had already been filmed, because any resolution of that plot would either a. make Dean queer, or b. address it awkwardly by having Dean reject Cas (this storyline would probably have been slammed by critics worse than the finale because it meant addressing it. It might have got the attention of LGBTQ activist groups and caused a bigger shitstorm than what we got). The best option was therefore C. Bury it and Cas, pretend it never happened. Never address it again and distract Dean with other things. Hope that Destiel fans will accept no answer from Dean as ambiguous enough to imagine a future reunion rather than shutting it down with a rejection, and still keep hold of the blissfully ignorant heteronormative straight boys so they can carry over to Walker when it starts.
I also believe (controversially probably) that there was concern that any resolution of Dean and Cas would have overshadowed network darling Jared Padalecki. If Dean and Cas had come together in the finale, with a very clearly textual homosexual reunion, then that would have been all anyone talked about. The reviewers, the critics, the audience, everyone. It would have been nothing but Dean and Cas (and look, if they did think this, they were right, Destiel trending over the US ELECTION.)
So what is the network to do, when they are losing the two stars who would get the most attention from this storyline? The one star they were holding on to and getting his own show, relegated to third place in the finale of the show where he was first on the call sheet? Nope. That’s pretty unacceptable. Even without Walker I can imagine people at all levels side eyeing the Destiel thing over the years. This IS a show about two brothers, and their relationship should be the core relationship, we can’t have one brother pushed aside in the finale to make way for a queer relationship that will get all the attention instead. It was never gonna get approved for this reason ALONE.
At the end of the day, if I look at it from a business perspective, it makes far more sense that the CW shut down Destiel, rather than “oh Dabb never cared and ruined it because he’s an idiot.” The writers cared, and had built on that story over years. But their mistake was leaving any Destiel resolution to the finale. If they had instead gone and got Dean and Cas together in early season 15, then they could have ended it in a way that satisfied everyone. Destiel wouldn’t have threatened pulling focus away from Sam and Dean, and the show could have gone out on a high.
When I lay out all the conspiracy theories, and line them up next to the cold hard facts, the conspiracy theories in some way or another, make more sense. To believe the company line, the narrative we have been fed, is to ignore your own eyes, ears, and memories pre March 2020.
All I’m asking people to do is take a look at the show, the narrative presented in the show, and the information presented above. I’m not telling you to believe what I’ve written here, half of which is just my own opinion. I’m asking you to ask yourselves if it makes sense to you. Because it sure as hell doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied.

Riddle me this: If Walker can't even make it a 4 season run as a CBS product (with potential of episode trajectory rounding down to 0.0 on some eps in S2 alone both by season decline and loss of Lindsey, much less S3)...
will... CW shows or either parent studio even hire him again?
I mean think about it. They literally sold their prize pony down the river to boost it, it didn't work, all that happened was their entire network glass cliffed and all their properties dramatically devalued overnight. It's expediting the network's heat death as the shell agency that delivers the content for these parent companies. Like the very definition of betting on the wrong horse.
And while he's on CW as a golden child, they may deal with his public tantrums and ignore it, do... you think they're gonna forget him almost torpedoing The Winchesters, one of the few things with a meaningful chance of turning it around for them?
As it is, it doesn't look like Jared's getting mountains of job offers outside of the CW. Even CBS didn't want walker (lol "Pedowitz bid high" bitch why didn't CBS want it on its network). I don't see side gigs, cameos, movie deals, book deals being thrown, I just see vitamin sand water posted everywhere. His star meter is reading lower than his pre-SPN Gilmore Girl Days. His trends have slid behind colleagues he used to be above on socials. His fandom already tore up Amazon/The Boys over their own delusions. He's known for set damages, for PR blowups, and for a toxic fanbase in media abroad--it's not HARD to see why there's not external offers.
I'm-- genuinely wondering if we're seeing the death of the career of Jarpad.
Beyond like, reprising Sam, for simple IP/continuity purposes, in whatever Winchester cameos there may be while it centers on Dean POV. Does the network even have a particular reason right now to encourage Sam forward on it beyond guest spots?
I'm just staring at this grizzly aftermath. I wanted CW to learn it's lesson, I wanted Jarpad to, IDK. Learn. DO better. Stop making terrible choices. Stop veering into the Red lane. And yeah, I'm miffed he didn't. But whatever part of me USED to be a fan of his until the last year or two is still looking at it a bit sadly. Like, wish I could get in a time machine and zap about a decade back and warn the fuck out of Jared about fans, life choices, project choices, and everything else. Like maybe nobody intervened enough. IDK.
Sad, yet entirely predictable. As we've... been predicting. And avoidable. But I'll save the pity for this post. Because at the end of the day, he's chosen to aggress, double down, blow up, do damage, spew queerphobia and whatever else, so my empathy based on past illusions of him only stretches so far.
So like. Probably more harold memes tomorrow. But just a somber moment in general.
Walker doesn't even stream worth HBO picking it up for dev if CW crashes and burns in the ongoing aftermath of the SPN finale causing network-wide abandonment that gouged their ratings and never returned. Other shows would, like S&L. But... I dunno.
It's a weird feeling because there's actually no "yay I'm right" beyond the admitted smirk of pissing off a few assholes that obsess about me worse than they hate boner on Misha Collins himself. That passed quickly. Now it's just a puzzle box of littered broken feelings to sort together.

I just wanna take a moment to say to those who are not in the spn fandom but might have heard of a certain "controversy" regarding a Spanish dub of episode 15.18 that there is no controversy.
What is happening is that a group of shippers in the fandom are mad that their fanon ship did not become canon and since it's a gay ship they are trying to claim censorship and pretend that they want representation.
The truth is that they don't truly care for those things, the just want validation for their fetishized white male ship. One half of that ship, Dean Winchester, has always been portrayed as straight and neither actor, writer, producers have ever implied he is anything other than straight. In fact it is the opposite, they have been vehemently clear about his sexual orientation. And when they have stated such they have been attacked and harrassed and even, in the case of the actor, been labeled as homophobic.
Those same people you may see across your dash or in tags praising Jensen Ackles (the actor who portrayed Dean for 15yrs) and saying that he was censored, that he wanted the ship to be canon and he was upset it wasn't, that he wants to redo the show to bring the character back and fix that- those same people, just two weeks ago, were calling him homophobic just because he didn't say I love you back.
This is not the first time they've done this, by the way, this is what they have done for years, they praise him and claim to love him when he says something they like but if he doesn't, if he points out that his character is straight or shoots down their little ship in any way they call him a homophobe, they try to tarnish his reputation, they harass him, they say he has no right or that his opinion on this character that he has portrayed for years has no validity.
However, in the same breath, they'll claim their true favorite M*sha Collins is the ultimate authority on anything he says regarding the character he portrayed, C*stiel, and all the other characters for the sole reason that he says what they like to hear and praises their ship.
I'm not going to go into details in this post on how they treat and act towards the second leading man of this show, and Jensen's co-star, Jared Padalecki who portrayed Sam Winchester but it would be remiss of me not to mention it; they have a vile hatred of him so big that they wanted to get him fired from the show, they harass him, they sent him threats, when one year he shared a sad post on his birthday instead of being concerned they mocked him and were happy, this is a man who suffers from depression in case you weren't aware, and that's just the tip of the iceberg! They have an all consuming hatred of him (that they deny!) all because he played Dean's little brother who was written from the very first episode to the very last one as the most important person in Dean's life, and because he is very close and important to Jensen in real life. They hate him so much some even want to boycott his new CW show, Walker, which has...wait for it...a gay character.
It should come as no surprise when I say that they also harrass, bully and send vile messages to those in fandom that don't ship their ship. Some even harrass their fellow shippers just because they're not as extreme in their shipping.
Let's talk about gay characters real quick because they'll have you believe SPN had none but that's not true Supernatural did have LGBTQ+ characters and some played major parts like Charlie, a close friend to the Winchester brothers, or Chuck who was actually God. It's not that the show had no LGBTQ+ characters, it's that Dean Winchester wasn't one of them.
But let's get back on track, what is this supposed controversy and is there any truth behind their claims that Jensen wanted the ship to be canon?
One thing at a time, the "controversy" is that in the Spanish dubb of the show Dean says "me too" to C*stiel after his love confession something he doesn't say in the English version of the episode. Now, the shippers are trying to claim that it makes their ship canon and that CW is homophobic and censored it that there is a secret scene that was cut out of the episode and the dubb is the real version of the epi.
The truth is there is no secret scene or censorship, anybody who knows anything about dubbed and translated works knows dubbing is not known for its accuracy. And the "real version" of the epi is the one that aired in English, the shows intended language.
The script very clearly says Dean can't reciprocate.
And the thing about Jensen? They're just saying that because he stated in the past that there was something that didn't sit well with him in the finale and that he struggled with it but he has yet to go into details about it was that he struggled with, it could have just as easily been, and it's way more likely it was, that he wanted more scenes of the brothers having fun [he's always been a big fan of the brothers relationship] so those trying to claim that it's because he was censored from having his character proclaim his love to another male character are grabbing things out of thin air.
(To note: in the finale Dean actually does proclaim his love for another male character. He tells his little brother he loves him. It's a different type of love, yes, but I'm pointing it out cause some have been trying to claim that Dean can't say I love you or that Dean shows no emotion and if you believe that I implore you look up his death scene.)
Oh, and the claims they're making that Jensen wants to reboot the show to make the ship canon? Another baseless claim. Jensen, and Jared, have both expressed an interest in playing these characters again but that's it. At no point has he said or insinuated that it's because he wants to make a fanon ship happen. He played Dean for 15yrs, it was a major part of his life and a character he deeply loves and will forever be connected too, him wanting to someday return to play him again has nothing to do with that ship. And it's kinda insulting that they want to boil it down to that.
In conclusion, the d*stiel shippers are lying to y'all. There is no secret scene. There was no censorship. Dean is and has always been a straight character. Jensen was not upset that Dean didn't confess his undying love to C*stiel. Jensen Ackles is not homophobic. Jensen wanting to reboot or come back to the show, and play Dean, again has nothing to do with that ship. And d*stiel shippers, or to be fair hellers (that's what we call the extreme d*stiel shippers because I acknowledge there are some that just wanna enjoy their ship), don't actually give a damn about representation.
If you wanna talk about censorship and possible homophobia on CW's part focus on how they treat their actual gay characters.

There is something so beautiful yet so broken about Endverse!Cas. He's clearly in love with Dean, and I can see Dean growing close with Cas after Sam let Luci inside of him, but the stress and despair of the apocalypse would tear it apart. Dean and Cas were definately able to survive as long as they did bc they had each other, but the leadership role Dean took on would eventually lead to his downfall. Cas went through many changes in those five years, such as becoming human and living in a deadly zombie infested world, but I really believe Dean (emotionally speaking) leaving him behind is what caused him to do drugs and participate in orgies. Cas just wanted to know what it felt like to be happy and to be loved, something Dean forgot about a long time ago.
Them having a thing in Endverse would explain a lot of things. Even when Cas had a broken leg and couldn't do anything for three months, Dean made sure to share food with him and give him shelter even though he could have easily thrown him out for not being able to help the group. This version of Dean is very harden, but I do believe that him not giving up on Cas then was lowkey an act of love.
Even though Cas knows Dean's plan to kill Luci is absolutely insane, Cas is willing to go with Dean anyways. I think in a way this is a bittersweet suicide. Cas may be a human on drugs, but he isn't an idiot. He knows how dangerous this plan is, but I think Cas wanted to go out if it meant he could spend one last time with Dean. Not to mention I think Cas was willing to die to make sure Dean could survive. Cas clearly doesn't put much value to himself in this world sadly.
When Chuck said "I don't think Cas is going anywhere anytime soon", I believe it also supports this idea that both Dean and Cas had a special bond (even if it ended up becoming broken). Let's be real, this line of dialogue is quite random. After all, our Dean was just trying to look for Cas. It could have easily been cut out to save a bit of time, but I do think this one little line holds power. I mean this entire episode really puts Dean and Castiel's relationship in the spotlight. There are quite a few famous Destiel lines including "I like past you", "Don't ever change", etc. My point is, it just makes sense for that line to have a deeper meaning rather than for it to be a throwaway and I honestly love it bc it implies a much more deeper storyline that quite frankly I could see myself watching.
Finally, past Dean separating Cas vs his other friends when he talks about Future Dean's plan to murder Lucifer alone just speaks massive volume. In his world, he's only known Cas for about a year. They're not exactly besties at this point, but you can see how past Dean holds Cas in a special high regard. Future Dean even admits things are complicated between him and Cas beforehand. We see that Dean knows himself very well (I mean he knew not to trust his future self from the start), and I think Dean realized what exactly he meant by that even if it's not explicitly stated (not to mention when it comes to romantic relationships, a lot of people use the term "it's complicated" as a label).
Thus, I believe during the five years of working together, it would make even more sense that they ended up getting closer than we could ever imagine (atleast comparing it with canon SPN). I mean Dean's protective nature + Castiel's faith towards Dean + going through literal hell and back during those five years sounds like an amazing story waiting to be told. It's truly heartbreaking that that Dean ended up going crazy and Cas just gave up on life at the end of the day. I'd kill to see what happened inbetween 2009 and 2014, bc through these hints, Dean and Castiel's relationship sounds very interesting.
I have SOOOOOO much more theories and ideas of what could have happened, but tbh this is already a really long post.
On another note, I'm in love with Endverse Cas and I want to give him the biggest bear hug in the universe. He really deserved to be protected. I will forever hate that Future Dean was willing to let him die for his own agenda after all the shit they went through. If SPN has proven anything, it's that there is always another way to do something without having to sacrifice everyone around you. In another life (and by that I mean in fanfiction land), I hope Endverse Destiel could end on a happier note and Cas could finally get the love he's been longing for...

HEY! I was cruisin through your page and saw that post you made about JDM and wondering what John and Dean would be like if John had lived, and now it's just stuck in my mind what kind of chaos that would be. Like imagine if Dean still sold his soul for Sam, went to hell, Cas pulls him out, but John is still alive? How would blood junkie Sam play out? And imagine John and Dean trying to fall back into a relationship post hell? So many factors I can't even deal with it all. I can't kick the idea.
DUDE UR MIND.
so i admit to being hung up on how john would still be alive, unless maybe in this verse john gets a year like dean? so like on top of the s2 stressors of sam's visions and abilities, there's also the ticking clock on john a la dean's ticking clock in s3. and honestly this begs other questions i haven't answered previously, like what are john and dean like relationship-wise after john goes on his hunting trip and dean feels compelled to go get sam.
i personally feel like there isn't enough time, like literally logistically, for dean and john to do much more than pine and be petty when they reconnect at the end of s1, and so i do wonder if once john makes a deal for dean's life (which im just gonna stick with in this thought experiment) and everyone is still alive, THAT'S when dean and john finally have a minute to awkwardly and bitterly and emotionally have their first conversation. i won't get into what i think that looks like now, bc you're asking about stuff further down the timeline, but like, for my own records lol, i want it known i think this is how the rekindling starts.
i think re: dean selling his soul for sam, even more interesting to me is john's reaction to that fact. john who has only days left before his deal is coming due, only days left to kill yellow eyes and break the contract, suddenly dealing with a) the death of his youngest son and b) the sacrifice of his oldest one (who he's also in an obsessive, consuming relationship with) like, the incredible blow out fight that dean and john would have (nowhere near as heartfelt, maybe is the word, as the one bobby has with dean in canon) but just the first real screaming match. john raging about how on earth dean could think this was the right choice, dean screaming I DID WHAT YOU DID. SAM IS WORTH IT. ughghghghghghghgh. and then they do manage to kill YED and get john out of his deal, and then once again things have to be dealt with.
god thinking about season 3 with john in the mix is making me want to...eat glass, get drunk, do cartwheels, like im losing it. bc if we think about the sam and dean dynamic of three, sam's terrible grief, the stressors of the demons let loose at the end of s2, worrying about lillith, plus dean spiralling, drinking, fucking, not caring. and then i imagine JOHN FUCKING WINCHESTER in the middle of this, in the middle of sam trying to save the most important person in his life and dean trying to deal with the fact the most important person in his life is maybe not happy at the choice dean made for him, and then john trying to manage two men who don't hold the same respect and fear that they used to (god "a very spn christmas" would probably be a much sadder episode). and then adding another layer of john and dean bitterly separated at this point. angry fucking, bordering on hate fucking, none of the tenderness john used to reserve for dean in these moments because they don't know how to talk about what's happening. john feels like he's watching dean die slowly, and so does sam, and them wanting to connect over that and share that grief while also still being themselves and therefore largely unable to authentically connect bc they have yet to heal the wounds of sam's childhood.
okay im spiraling on that, it hurts too good, so lets jump to the end of season 3, john having to watch with sam his oldest son, his longest-running lover, get ripped to shreds before his very eyes. and like after, i mean, i don't think there's any way sam and john stay together after losing dean, like. there's so much johndean content revolving around the pair of them losing sam, but how miserable and interesting to think about the pair of them after losing dean, without the sexual tension to lean into and watch explode. like no, sam would just leave. he'd find a way to make it john's fault (lets be clear: i wouldn't blame sam for doing that), and john would find a way to make it about sam, and they'd just have to go their own ways which would open the door for sam to go down the sam track with ruby and john to probably do fuck all. drink, fuck random people, generally self destruct.
okay, season 4 is a huge trip to think about bc the story gets so much bigger than just the three of them. i like the idea of dean coming out of hell and still going to bobby first, and then bobby taking dean to sam and then all of them waiting for john to come around to bobby's. this is like almost too much to think about so i have to take it piece by piece.
first of all, for whatever reason, this feels like the season when dean and john finally break through back to what they used to be before john ditched dean to hunt YED. and i think part of why i feel this way is that there'd be a natural alliance in their upset with sam over the blood drinking BUT i think as in canon dean would recover from this bc sam is the most important person in his life, so what would actually end up happening is that dean would fall back into moderator between john and sam's fights, with bobby backing him up.
i also think dean would come out of hell with a clearer idea of what's worth fighting over and what isn't, and i think after hell there COULD be a version of events where he decides sleeping with his father is hardly the worst thing he could do, and also when you've already been to hell, i would imagine it sort of levels out what's really hell-worthy. being in love with your father which ultimately hurts no one, would probably not feel like such a sin after literally being one of hell's best torturers.
i also think dean would be drawn back to john bc with the angel stuff, he'd want guidance from someone other than castiel, and his historically consistent leader is john, so that's who he'd be going to for advice, esp. since sam seems weirdly excited about angels where dean finds them sus af. and also i kind of think john might be a little softer about how he handles dean after hell, and could possibly turn into a more supportive figure EXCEPT for when it comes to his issues with sam that dean would have to mediate.
is this making sense? I feel like this isn't making sense, but my brain is whirring, and im just typing as i have a thought lol.
i think ultimately, a john in season 4 and 5 is a john with a reduced role who would be struggling to find his footing in such a massive production. he spent years with a mission: find and kill YED, and then immediately following that, find a way to get dean out of his deal. i think failing to do that and watching dean die as traumatically as mary (oh god, think of what watching dean die with sam in the room would bring up for john fuck fuck fuck) would do a fucking number on the senior winchester, and that his goal in s4 and s5 would be reconnecting with BOTH of his children, especially as they prepare to face such an enormous challenge as the apocalypse. i think this would be made difficult though, because for dean and john that would initially look (probably) like starting to have sex again, but with a completely different context. so whether that would help or hurt the relationship, idk.
and i think for sam...idk. i think sam would have to work through a lot of shit with learning he's the vessel for lucifer and feeling like he's exactly the disaster fuck up his father always thought he was, and with john RIGHT THERE it'd be even more of a thing. and it would be their goal to find a way through that.
omg this got so long im so sorry, ill stop here, but thank you for these brain worms and feel free to tell me im totally wrong and all that you think as well!!!

Wait they fucked the SPN ending for Walker? How? And now the show is more conservative than the original, which was headlined by known conservative dumbass Chuck Norris? Ugh
tldr (I can attest in the sense that I did watch the very last episode and with everything I've seen until now...... it holds up)
basically from what it seems like they pushed so that the finale ep was sam focused so it would make ppl idk stick with jared and they didn't give dean time to shine or a basic excuse of a storyline at all before the dumbest death he could have had and jensen's obviously pissed
like... can imagine why he would be
also like nothing happened in that ep is2g I watched it live while it was happening and it was all..... filler? like I swear even the fillerest filler episode for any show I've watched had more stuff happening in it than the spn series finale which... was... bad
and like I remember walker promos airing every ten seconds when the ep was airing sssoooo
anyway apparently the cw got heavy on walker promoting and shit and got both jensen & misha shafted which like... I mean misha was def in vancouver for the finale but he wasn't in the ep and jensen spends 15 years playing dean for that?
and like now idk if the background rumors re jared not opposing any of that and basically screwing them over because it was convenient for his new show are true or not but if he is like... ofc jensen is pissed off
anyway like as stated I'm catching up on the whole thing now and with that in mind the finale looked like 'okay we wanted to do a thing but you execs told us that we couldn't and we had to do this this and that so we're going to do it in a way that sucks ass on purpose but that delivers what you wanted' even moreso than it did in the beginning like... it's not bad in the way any other bad finale I watched is bc AT LEAST SOMETHING HAPPENED IN THE OTHERS LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENED IN THIS ONE I'm still trying to wrap my head around it tbh
NOW with this in mind I'mma gonna say what I told @emilysnora when the first walker casting stuff came out but basically
the remake has jared being walker blah blah and honestly I'm not even pronouncing myself on the whole 'I got the idea when reading the interview with the ICE policeman who felt conflicted abt putting kids in cages' because it's not my place to but honestly as your resident white european person it's... really... I mean the nicest I can say it's that it's a very privileged way of looking at it and he probably didn't mean it to be a racist thing buuuuuttt thaaat kind of iiiiisssss so there's that and on top of that we have that it's him plus: - hispanic partner in the force - gay brother who's like AN ATTORNEY FOR THE STATE so like... right wing gay dude? okay - his wife was dead before the entire shebang began so hello fridging before the plot even starts - I gave a quick look at the main cast and like there's one biracial dude plus lindsey morgan and they're the only two nonwhite ppl in the entire main cast (idk about the recurring but I'm talking about the MAINS) add to that the... background premise it's really not as progressive as it looks like honestly
now not to be like your resident person who's like BUT THE REP but like if y'all gonna do a show in 2021 about ppl in texas doing that job having to deal with keeping children in cages or latin american immigrants having all white ppl in the main cast except two of them is like.... kind of... not exactly what I'd do in this time and age
now with the premise that as stated I hate chuck norris's politics and I don't thing great of him as a person or anything else so like pls don't take this as chuck norris endorsement or anything
my grandfather used to be obsessed with it same as like apparently 90% of italian grandfathers bc everyone I know had at least one who loved that show so like I've seen my fair share of it back in the day and to my best recollection - basically no one was presuming it was like.... there to make a political statement it was basically chuck norris roundhouse kicking bad dudes coming from whichever background and saving the day the end but - walker himself had native american ancestry bc he was raised after his parents' death by his uncle who was played by floyd westerman who was like a prominent NA actor so like technically you had the lead who had NA ancestry himself plus there was like actual NA actors having a relevant role which like... bros not to be that asshole but last time I saw that in pseudo mainstream tv in the last ten years it was on a netflix show that lasted one season so make of that what you will, also there were at least two other NA supportive chars from the reservation they all came from like one was the sheriff and the other was a spiritual leader or smth but anyway it had three NA chars played by NA actors - walker's police partner/bff was black - he had the ongoing willtheywon'tthey romance with the district attorney or smth but she didn't get fridged actually she lasted the entire show but anyway like... there was no 'ah he had a wife who DIED BEFORE THE SHOW EVEN STARTED' plotline - in the last two seasons they had rookie rangers showing up and like I went to check on wikipedia to be sure but the girl is half filipina which again not a category that gets exactly much rep on american tv - there was a recurring dude who helped them out in cases but was from another police branch who was def latino (don't remember the background sorry but he def was) also like walker was a vietnam vet which imvho would be an improvement over 'I was undercover for eleven months and my wife died :((((' when it comes to give your main like.... a srs background but anyway the point was that new walker in between the mains has like two nonwhite ppl and if I look at the recurrings it looks like there's four ppl who are latin* but three of them are undocumented immigrants so like... bro there's some typecasting going on I see, old walker had NA/black/hispanic/filipino people in the main/supporting cast and none of them was like... typecast in the sense that they were all cops except two of the NA ones so it's not like they went out of their way to typecast and like obv og walker wasn't making the whole thing a political statement but looking at it...... it's still way more progressive than whatever the new one wants to be
yes even if chuck norris was headlining it
and I mean... again when you manage to reboot a show starring chuck norris of all ppl and you manage to make it less progressive than the og while thinking you're being progressive while rebooting it I mean as we say here ask yourself a few questions and give yourself a few answers, also like the entire point of og walker was crack where he kicks ppl and says doing drugs is bad, I honestly don't get why the fuck they had to reboot it instead of like having the guts to say we wanna do an original thing, bc like in order to say hey I wanna do a show about a conflicted cop on the texas border you really can just make it an original thing and own it not go like I'M REBOOTING WALKER TEXAS RANGER ROUNDHOUSE KICK CENTRAL EXTRAORDINAIRE but that's my two cents make of that what you will

Supernatural - 15x19. Why it’s a good ep considering Destiel
As all of my SPN metas, it’s Destiel positive and happy end positive, don’t like - don’t read.
I wasn’t disappointed of this ep’s outgoing, in fact, I’ve been waiting for something like that.  Here in September I wrote my specs for the last 7 eps, and for 15x19 there was one: “they will not talk about Cas’s saving. And he will be dead in this episode for sure”. I was especially sure about this spec after 15x18. ‘Cause THE INTRIGUE guys.
There is no intrigue at all - only Cas’s returning/saving in 15x20 could SAVE THE SHOW. Other way - it’s never too late to rebel :) Though I don’t think it will be necessary, not in this case.  So I liked the 15x19 outcome and my hopes for the DeanCas happy end are strong as ever. 15x19 made them stronger.
I liked a lot of things in the ep - so, so many of them. Jack and Dean’s grieving. Blood mark on Dean’s jacket. Sam and Dean’s readiness to surrender. Dean’s demand for Chuck, to return Cas - though ONLY CAS AND DEAN THEMSELVES COULD DO IT. Luci’s comeback as a fact - I speculated about it a bit here, though I thought more of Nick calling to Luci. But Nick was also Chuck’s puppet, why not?  Luci’s playing Cas - “let me in”. We saw Dean’s weakness, so clear that it hurts and could be even uncomfortable to watch. We ALL understood that was a coy the moment Luci called I suppose - but not Dean. And THIS FACT alone is nice - not the details though.  Michael’s tragedy, though hidden and not well-played - but it was there.  Chuck’s inability to love. The whole metaness of his character - “I’m cancelling your show” again. His death wish. Sam and Dean’s revenge neglect. “That’s not who I am. That’s not who we are”. Chuck as a human, without his strength. It’s strange, but I think he could be happy now! If he’ll change something in himself, of course.  Chuck’s empty Book of Death. His book is empty now, there will be no new Death... and he can start from the beginning. He can write his own story now and be redeemed - despite all the things he had done. It’s a new page for him as well. Chuck finally could be free himself.  The way Jack became the new Almighty AFTER exploding in the Empty. THE EMPTY IS THE ONE THAT GAVE HIM THE STRENGTH, it’s not the enemy. I wrote about it here.   Amara’s mentioning - and it was Sam who asked about her, she was important for both Sam and Dean all the way.  Beautiful acting - they certainly did their best with the script given.
The way how the children should be free of their parents - Michael and Luci from Chuck, Sam and Dean from Chuck - and their dad, his name even wasn’t curved on the table by the end of the ep and despite the kind words to John in 14x13 we saw in 15x16 and 15x17 how destructive was John’s impact on Dean - not at Sam, ‘cause Dean was protecting Sam all along. Jack from Sam and Dean - this freedom is blurred though ‘cause of Cas’s absence in the episode structure. But his freedom is a good thing itself - for Jack it’s impossible to be a human, Kelly believed that. Cas believed that. Cas saw paradise on earth - so Jack’s chosen fate was in being a Child who is everywhere, in all of us, who doesn’t play with us, but lets us act ourselves. He isn’t the God as we understand him in strict norms, he isn’t cruel and abusive.  And he should be free of any expectations from Sam and Dean - Cas said it in 15x18 to him. Jack is a grown-up in his own manner. He is independent now, and that’s a good thing.
Also, there is a promise in these shots:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see these shots 3 times - before Jack returns all the humans, in the process of returning (see the girl whose bike was abandoned at the road at the end of 15x18 and at 15x19 beginning?) and when he talks about him being everywhere.  One More. The One.  Is Jack the One now? Is he the one more One?  Is it ONE MORE EPISODE? One more story? One more thing? One more... You can continue the thought if you want. All I want to say - these shots are visually important and I find them hopeful :)
I liked Sam and Dean in the end. I’m a Destiel shipper but I’ve never hated Sam and Sam and Dean’s relationship. I just think it’s not good for this relationship to be romantic - it’s not good for both of Sam and Dean. But I respect them and their bond and don’t see anything bad for DeanCas ship in it. In fact, it’s quite the opposite - Sam was helping both Cas and Dean all the time. I’m afraid of thinking what will happen without him. Nothing good I suppose. I liked the way this scene was filmed. It’s also hopeful for me - though the double reading here is possible.  But I think “just us” is not the end.  I liked the names curved on the table as the fact. Now it’s confirmed - they ARE a family. All of them.
I liked the choice of the song - Running on Empty. Wow. Symbolically - ‘cause the Empty in the story is the separate character AND the place, you know. I liked a clip-show at the end. It’s nostalgic and sweet, and it has Cas in it - he IS the part of that, not only as Dean’s love interest, hey. He has his own party.  Here the story of blood ends.  What’s next?
We’ll wait and see.
And now - some things in 15x19 which left me disappointed.
I must confess that I’ve always loved SPN myth-arcs and wasn’t noticing Destiel as a thing for a while because my interests weren’t in the field of shipping. This show wasn’t about shipping for me - and the weirdest, it isn’t about shipping for me now. It’s a DAMN GOOD STORY WITH THE SENSE. And the sense is love. Yep.
So this episode didn’t do well with the myth-arc.
You see, I kinda enjoyed some of Buckleming eps. For instance, 15x13 - I love it, and there are some more. I’ve even appreciated their lack of subtext, parallels, allusions sometimes. They could be very specific. One more example - when Dean in 11x03 cupped Cas’s face, it was very easy to understand the ROMANTIC nature of their relationship and stuff.
But this ep?!
Pandemic situation added some stress I suppose. Nevertheless, all the story with Lucifer and Michael is just catastrophic. The only strong part was Lucifer telling Michael how Chuck can’t love - and the fact that his words were confirmed by the plot, and Chuck’s inability to love finally ended him. We’ve known that. We’ve predicted that. I’ve written about it here.
“You’ve killed your own son” (c) Dean, who didn’t do that.
But the rest part of this story---ugh. Killing Luci so easily? Michael is so plain as a character? Are you f*cking kidding me?!! Even AU!Michael was more interesting, I swear. I had a feeling that I myself could write this part of story better. And it’s not about lack of Cas as Dean’s love interest or hope for his returning, or for DeanCas whatever, I’m pretty sure we will get all of that. It’s about the myth-arc only! One of the main ones from season 4!
All this epic story of Luci and Mike could be done much more better. Like WAY MORE BETTER. With the same convo, you know, with the same outcome, which is absolutely correct - we are not supposed to serve our parents. But different details, WTF! And that’s my main point here.
There are some other things that I’m disappointed about, though less:   1) Betty the Reaper was a total WTF either despite of her eager lines. 2) I need more explanations about how exactly Jack gained his new power, how is he reunited with Amara, how he returned all the people BUT NOT Donna, Bobbie, Charlie, Jody, Eileen, Cas - not the people HE cares about. Or they are not important for him now? This thing could be resolved in 15x20 though. 3) I didn’t like physical violence from Chuck. A) I have some doubts if he can properly do it, he like to watch. What’s changed? I’m not convinced. B) I felt physical pain from that scene. It was awful. It all could be showed for us in a different way, but they didn’t want that. 4) I didn’t like how Chuck’s mind changes every second. I don’t kill you, I don’t care about you, you’ll live and suffer, no, I’ll kill you. It could be written more properly, but hey. This part is much more harder to fix that Luci and Mike’s. 5) I didn’t like the dog move. Like AT ALL. I loved Jensen’s kind voice and his acting, but: A) all these doggy parallels are not for me, I didn’t like how Cas was called a dog before - in Buckleming eps specifically (and that terrible parallel in 8x15!), but not only there. I didn’t like when Atropos called Sam and Dean Cas’s pets either. Not my kink, sorry - and it’s JUST TOO THICK; B) it’s classic move. So classic that it’s dumb! The Bad Guy always hurts some cute pets. Kitties, doggies, birds whatever. That’s how we are supposed to understand that he is Bad. Hey, we all know that Chuck is bad. Why to add something? To mess with Destihellers? Not helping here. 6) The moment with Luci instead of Cas (for Dean, for Jack) could be less “haha gays” and more proper either I guess. It feels more like a mocking to me the way it is, whether the idea was good. Luci played Cas for Dean before (11x11, 11x14), as he played Jess for Sam and Sarah for Nick, and he played a father for Jack. He was in his place there - a mock from Chuck. But you can’t blame Chuck on the poor writing ALL THE TIME. 7)  Also the music. It just didn’t feel right.
8) The end for Jack is right... but also somehow confusing, like something is omitted. Or SOMEONE. You know whom.
Someone whose absence also made Michael so plain, I suppose.
Jack’s story started with Cas, I think it couldn’t end without him. Jack was so devastated to hear about his death - and all is OK in the finale? ‘Cause he is the Almighty now? And Michael - he was also connected to Cas, we saw it in 14x10, in 15x08 - all the way actually. There should be some mentioning of Cas from Michael I think. Not from the DeanCas point of view - it’s Adam who noticed something in 15x08, not Michael, Michael was angry with Cas. But somehow their connection made Michael stronger as a character. Okay, he is not strong enough to rebel. But that’s Cas who said that! He said that he felt sorry for Michael, that it’s Lucifer who was always the smart one.
Without this context Michael isn’t easy to understand - though we heard that Adam is erased and I liked that. That’s a hint - Michael had a strong will when he had Adam, without Adam he is lost, just like AU!Michael was.
I think he is lost because he killed his Lucifer - in both cases. He gave Chuck his ending - and Chuck can’t respect that, he doesn’t like that. He doesn’t like to win.  So Michael couldn’t rebel though he’d known about Chuck’s motives from Cas, and not because of love, but because him being a cuck.  And all this will be much more easier to understand with Cas’s mentioning. But NO. We had a dog instead. Like WTF again???
The Jack’s part could be fixed in 15x20 I suppose. But not Michael’s part.  Well, sorry for him.  Now I must add the myth-arc was also connected with Cas all along. He is not just the main hero’s love interest - well, HE IS, but he has also his role in the plot. HE IS A REAL TRICKSTER of the show, the rebellious one, the rule-breaker - at all levels. So without even MENTIONING him in the main myth-arc all this arc looks like a card house, and not as proper as Luci’s card house from this ep was.
This arc deserved much more better. It deserved Cas as a trickster. Don’t like him even mentioned ‘cause he’s also Dean’s love interest? Well, say good-bye to a proper myth story. And that’s a shame, in my opinion.
‘Cause 15x20 could be 15x19 and vice versa and both eps could win ‘cause of that.
Well, that’s the reality we live in. And we’ve got so much goodness already. We should be thankful for that.
9) Who the hell is curved Jack and Cas’s names on the table? Sam and Dean? Jack? With Mary, it had sense, with all these flashbacks. I understood she curved her name herself. What’s for Cas and Jack? What’s the point? Dead for good? I know that’s NOT the point. So what is it? I can’t understand it here.
We need continuation, guys! :)

SPN Finale Theory: Part Two
Finale realizations continued--taking off of Part One
Chuck’s Swan Song Finale 2.0 and Cas Omitted
Throughout the show Chuck is still trying to get the brother vs brother end using His own "blunt instruments" by bringing back Lucifer(s7-15) multiple times, giving Dean the MOC(s10), bringing in AW Michael(s13) and possessing Dean(s14). It never works because free will, love and family always wins.
So... all of s15, minus the last 2 episodes, were filled with all the character development we saw develop and arcs that were the product of "running their own race". THEN Cas dies.
Everything Cas represents fades away in ep 19. The last time we hear his voice is corrupted by Lucifer. (But it also canonically confirms Dean loves Cas.) How he changed Dean’s self-worth, renewed Sam’s hope, and Jack himself is all that’s left of Cas to help change the narrative and defeat Chuck once and for all. He died believing this would come to pass because he saved Dean.
You feel the disconnect happen in between Lucifer and Michael’s deaths and Jack becoming the new God. But even with Chuck the writers no longer in power, its reverted back to before Cas ever interfered. Family is back to only the brothers and the plot is back to hunting monsters. The ending for each brother mirrors the finales of the season before Cas meant something to them. Dean got a season 3 finale since Cas meant something to Dean first and Sam got a season 5 finale since Cas didn’t mean as much to him until s6.
Carry On:
Dean’s character has dwindled back down to his car, pie, rock music, and beer of s3. He even loves dogs again as if he’s pre-hellhound death trauma. Sam’s character has dwindled back down to the baby brother that no longer wants to hunt but there for emotional support of pre-s5. Even the damn journal's back and Jenny for some reason.
Dean’s s3 "at least then my life can mean something" mindset AKA before found family-Bobby reminds him it always did and Cas saves him returns. He dies by getting stabbed in the back mirroring how Sam died in s2 which led to Cas & the apocalypse to begin with. Dean desperately tries to accept it and begs to be told its ok for him to die. It’s as if s15 Dean that doesn’t want to die is battling with s3 Dean who always feared but expected he’d die on a hunt. Cas doesn't save him this time. Since Sam went on to apparently live a very hollow, apple pie life where he was mourning his brother the whole time it mirrors s5 Dean’s life with Lisa. Sam builds a family but his wife is just a stand-in, his son is a Dean jr, and all his memories surround the parents and brother he lost. Cas still doesn’t interfere. Sam also needs assurance to let go.
Even heaven isn't post-s5 accurate despite the claim that Jack and Cas built this to be the heaven Dean dreamed of and deserved. Sure, Jan. Cas is supposedly alive and well but it’s not known or is [Omitted]; however, what Cas represents is not in heaven either.
Everything about Dean’s heaven is pre-Cas or pre-apocalypse canon:
Pre-s4 cast of Bobby, parents, and Rufus are the only ones “known” to be in heaven. Leaving out post5 family like Charlie, Kevin, even Adam. Cas witnessed the grief and guilt their loss had on Dean, plus all 3 were already included in s15 (AW Charlie but still Charlie callback). Cas would have had them there, on or off-screen.
Despite Bobby being there as supposed found family, he’s also dwindled down to the Bobby of s3. He doesn’t even get up and hug Dean who he hasn’t seen since s8 which canonically doesn’t make sense for post s3 reunions for Bobby or Dean. You get reunited from death, you hug each other; its the Supernatural law of the land.
Harvelle's is thee bar and only actual setting in heaven instead of Dean's dream of Rocky's Bar circa s14. Which Cas not only knows is Dean’s dream, he stood in it. Cas never went to Harvelle's and the only time it was heaven-related was s5 as a part of Ash's heaven only. Dean never mentions it after.
The heaven beer is El Sol. The same in Dean's djinn dream(s3) AND in the Beautiful Room(s4). Not the beer that they've been drinking in the bunker for years OR the ones in Rocky's that are real-life Jensen's. And not because it's his favorite like in s3/4 BUT because it was his first/with his Dad....that's what we're going with? That's what Dean dreams about? No.
Despite heaven being new & improved, it's actually similar to s5 Dark Side of the Moon heaven. Baby just appears and Dean has to follow the road which can only lead to Sam. Which Cas does witness but...interesting.
In conclusion, episode 20 was unbelievable because it's an illusion of what Sam and Dean's life/fate/heaven would be without Cas changing the story and without Chuck being in charge of it. It's not real. It's a figment of what could have been post-Swan Song. This is exactly why you can watch up to season 5 then skip 10 entire years and still follow the finale. If anything its part 2 of Swan Song that Kripke wanted but didn't get. Jensen knew it. It deleted 10 yrs because it deleted Cas and everything that resulted because of Cas. I have no idea what all was Omitted but I have a feeling the finale was still this s5 nightmare, I’m just thinking maybe it was on purpose.
Cas/Misha persevered despite the 3-6 ep arc role he was supposed to have and continued challenging God's narrative for 12 years. This is why ALL of us that are screaming into the void, can't move on, and hated the finale just so happen to ALSO be Castiel fans or Cas/Dean Girls or Hellers or any fan that saw how Cas's entire arc was the driving force from s6-15. We know #CastielMatters/Energies because without him the show would have died with him as false-god Godstiel. We recognized the profound effect he had on Dean and Sam throughout their character development.
I didn't make any of this up THEY wrote this into being. They wrote the show. They wrote the characters. They wrote the parallels and the very specifically done set design/lighting. We just saw it through a lens that maybe you can't see without being more like Cas. An outsider, self-loathing, trying our best in a world where it’s easy to do our worst, have more faith in love than God, and maybe even be a little queer too. Yes, it was a story that started out as two brothers hunting monsters but they grew up. The whole show grew up and this is NOT how it ends.

I saw your Sastiel pack and LOVED it! Why does anyone ship Castiel with Dean though, he treats him terribly? Is Dean like that with everyone AKA if I watch SPN will I be constantly wincing in empathy?
Oh wow, thank you so much for this! Suffice it to say, this could become a rather long response, so I’ll make sure to put it under a read more.
Question for you, nonnie: are the Sastiel scene packs the only exposure you’ve had to SPN? If you’re thinking of watching it, there is a whole lot more to it, believe me, but let me explain this as best as I can for you. <3
The way you see Dean treating Cas in the scene packs is admittedly only a part of their relationship, but it’s the most PREVALENT part. It’s what you’ll see happen between them the most. There are moments of friendliness, even ‘shippy’ moments if you get that vibe.
I used to ship Destiel way back in the s4-s8 era. Initially, my reasons for liking it were that I loved how Cas expressed emotion whenever he spent time around Dean, and the idea of an angel falling in love with a human appealed to me (i.e: Cas FALLING BECAUSE HE FELL IN LOVE). I liked the idea of Dean, a man who didn’t believe in Heaven and angels, finding this one angel and seeing that they can be good. Cas saved Dean from Hell, after all. They were having so many moments together that went from outright hostility on Dean’s end to something of a comradeship and a hint of something more. I definitely saw some of the appeal.
However, that appeal was short-sighted and it was heavily influenced by members of the fandom (the pro-Destiel camp that insisted on seeing it literally EVERYWHERE). I was sucked in, incorporated their views as my own, and hadn’t quite decided where I felt ‘at home’ in the fandom. Especially because when the scene in 4x07 happened and Cas and Sam met for the first time, my first thought was: “Oh shit, I could end up shipping this. I already love their dynamic.” But it was a low-key thought, because bringing up a potential for Sastiel at that time when the fandom was mostly loud Destiel shippers that outright hated Sam, much less the idea of him with DEAN’S angel? You’d get torn to shreds, lmao. So I kept those thoughts to myself, having no outlet to talk about them, until I finally came over to the Sam side of the fandom, risking losing friends and followers along the way, and I definitely did. I unfollowed some people that I initially really liked because of how they made Sam fans feel and how they felt about Sam in general.
I really do think the primary reasons for shipping Destiel are that:
A) Brother bias. A lot of the SPN fans I’ve encountered are generally more of Dean fans than Sam. Sam gets so much flack both within and outside of the fandom. So naturally, Dean fans are going to be more invested in dynamics and relationships for him than they are for Sam.
B) Dean and Cas had a lot more moments together very early on, so they had more of a ‘foundation.’ I guarantee you that if Sastiel had been given the same amount of screen time early, it likely would’ve gone a different direction.
C) Cas’s development - or expansion - of emotions occurred primarily around Dean. The show is very Dean-centered (biased) and you see the show a lot through his eyes. You need to read between the lines and look at it with a different perspective to get Sam’s, much less anyone else’s. So if you’re fixating on moments where Cas is emotional, you think it’s happening because of Dean. But there were many scenes where after talking to Sam, Cas expressed emotion, doubt, and other emotions. Plus, we hadn’t known at the time that Cas had been created with a crack in his chassis, and was already predispositioned to loving humanity and only by meeting Dean (and Sam) was that brought out.
D) The desperation for queer rep. Sadly, there are plenty of Destiel shippers who are straight girls that just want to see two hot men get it on, but there are many people of the LGBTQ+ community that are genuinely looking for good representation. I think the idea of Destiel is something that could’ve worked for rep had it been done right, but it wasn’t. I’m all for more rep, and good rep at that. I consider myself Ace, but still going through it all, so I’m not very involved in the community (although I’m definitely an ally) and I want rep that everyone can feel represents them. What most Destiel shippers don’t seem to get is that people who are LGBTQ+ are not always Destiel shippers and I have plenty of friends who are queer or bi or trans that ship Sastiel or Wincest instead. It comes down less to people who are anti-Destiel being homophobic and more of that some of us just... don’t like abusive relationships, which Destiel definitely falls under.
If you decide to watch the show:
Yes, Dean is very often abusive towards Cas. He’s abusive towards Sam, too as well as Jack. He has anger issues and outbursts that the show loves to sweep under the rug because it’s naturally biased towards him. However, early on especially, we are shown that he can still be good, be gentle, and loving at times. The last 10 or so seasons, we kind of lost some of that. I had to go episode by episode in how I felt about Dean. The most important piece of advice I can give you is watch the show for yourself, and don’t let anyone else’s views impact how you see it.

[  supernatural. misha collins. unknown. agender. ] bright light fading away CASTIEL has found themselves in a new unrecognized land. the last thing HE remembers before they were taken was MOVING ON FROM DEAN AND LEAVING THE BUNKER. they say back in those times they were known to be +COMPASSIONATE, however, also have their moments when they could be -AWKWARD and was always best recognized by SHATTERED HALOS, BLUE, GLOWING EYES, AND FALLING STARS.
@zertheastarters
BASICS
Name: Castiel
Nicknames: Cas (please not Cass!), Cassie (though he’s not particularly fond of this one), and the self-hating angel of thursday, just because :)
Age: Honestly? Who knows. He’s as old as creation, and we don’t know when that was in spn lore. He’s had lines like “in all my thousands of years,” though, so we knows he’s at least thousands of years old.
Gender and pronouns: Agender, usually presents as pretty masculine but has also had a female vessel before, so I headcanon that he Doesn’t Really Care. Uses he/him pronouns mostly, but feel free to use any pronouns for him, he’ll accept anything.
Sexuality: Aspec, homoromantic
Species: Angel. Specifically a Seraph. if you’d like more information on angels in spn you can find detail on them here. You can also find Cas’ powers here, everything under Seraph abilities with the exception of time travel and teleportation (anything that involves his wings) are Cas’ current abilities.
Personality: Cas is driven by doing the right thing and his love for his found family. However, he’s also pretty naïve and has been easily manipulated into doing terrible things in the past, based on the belief that he was doing what was for the best. He’s determined, a good fighter, and is very compassionate. He’s also very awkward in social situations, doesn’t tend to understand social cues, etc. Has moments of being extremely soft and cute, but he’s also a complete badass, and can be kinda ruthless when he needs to be. He’s very smart! He used to be a soldier of Heaven who lead an army, and he’s very strategic because of it.
HISTORY
You can find Cas’ backstory here but I’ll try to summarise the important stuff as best I can!
Met the Winchesters after pulling Dean from Hell. Was little more than a soldier of Heaven at first, did his job, followed orders, was basically emotionless. Started to doubt and feel the more he bonded with the brothers, especially Dean. Eventually rebelled against Heaven and their plan after Dean taught him the importance of free will.
Has died and been resurrected many times.
Lost the use of his wings when he was manipulated by Metatron to make all of the angels fall from Heaven, and to lock them out. He still has his wings, but they’re in very bad shape.
Has been to purgatory, heaven, hell, the empty, alternate universes... you name it, he’s probably been there (within the spn universe, anyway).
Has been possessed by Lucifer.
Has been miserable for a very long time, to the point there’s a whole plot dedicated to how he will die when he finally allows himself to be happy. In the show, this happened when he finally confessed his love for Dean, but I’m bringing him from before then.
Is in love with Dean, best friends with Sam, and a parental figure to Jack.
MISC
Fucks up a lot but has also never done anything wrong ever.
Black oil slick coloured wings!
A grumpy soft boi who is also a complete badass.
Probably thinks this is all Chuck’s fault.
Has Dad Issues. Chuck/God disappeared for years and years while the angels continued to worship him and do things in his name, then reappeared inserting himself in the Winchesters’ lives, then revealed himself to be God and disappeared again, then eventually revealed that he’s been controlling everyone (except Cas, because he, for some reason, didn’t follow Chuck’s plan), then killed Jack, and unleashed the souls of Hell. So yeah... Dad Issues.
Is currently possessing the corpse of Jimmy Novak, and Jimmy’s death has been stated to be one of his biggest regrets.
Feels responsible for Claire Novak, Jimmy’s daughter.
Not good with references even though Metatron once gave Cas all of his knowledge on every story he’s ever read/watched etc. (which is pretty much all of them)
Loves bees and pop music.
He’s autistic.
I’ll be bringing him from the end of 15x03. He literally just walked out of the bunker at the end of the episode when he was brought to Zerthea, so his ‘break up’ with Dean is very fresh.
Probably more that I’m forgetting but I’ll come back and add stuff when I think of them!

Well we were screwed….no I don’t even think screwed is even the right word I would use right now.  Here we are trapped like rats in a crypt with a bunch of possessed zombies trying to break down the door.  As my brothers and Cas were trying to figure a way out of this place or how to stop those—things outside, I was on the ground touching Jack’s cheek.
Thanks to the bastard Chuck, Jack’s forever gone.  His eyes burned out and I knew that there was no coming back from that. This was all too much for me. Jack didn’t deserve something like this, no one did. Not Pamela, not Kevin, and certainly not Jack.
“Jack—” I muttered as I leaned my forehead against his chest.  Why must everything bad happen to those we care about? Just shortly before Lucifer stole Jack’s grace, the two of us admitted to each other while we were stuck in Apocalypse world with Mary that we started developing feelings for each other.
While he was fully human, I taught him the basic necessities on how to stay alive.  And from there we just—kinda grew closer to each other.  Even when he burned out his soul, he somehow made me still believe that he was in love with me.
Now he’s gone.
Suddenly I began to hear something.  Something from within the walls.  As my brothers kept arguing with each other, I pressed my ear to the wall.
“(Y/n)? (N/n).” Dean said.
“Guys I—I think there’s a pipeline in here.”
“Probably a sewage line.” Both Sam and Dean came up and Sam helped me stand back up while both he and Dean removed the concrete slab to reveal the brick structure underneath.  Using the iron pick they chipped away at the brick wall but suddenly coming out was a possessed corpse.
I jumped back screaming.  God I hate it when those things do that.  Cas then picked up the concrete slab and slammed it right on top of the corpse which killed it but the ghost that had it possessed took off flying.
“God I hate it when that happens!”
“You’ve been doing this since you were ten, how does that still scare you?” asked Dean.
“Hey give me a wendigo, vamp, werewolf, leviathan, whatever any day. But having something that just pops out, especially when they look like they’re from the Thriller music video, forget it!”
“Well so much for your pipe theory, now what do we do?”
“Hello.” No. It—it can’t be.  We all turned around and there stood Jack alive!
Tumblr media
My heart stopped and I froze like a deer in headlight.
“Jack? You’re alive?” Sam asked in disbelief.  It can’t be, it just can’t be. Please anyone but god tell me this is a joke.
“That’s not Jack. It’s a demon.” Cas said. At that point, I was enraged. Okay making my older brother into one, and forcing my big brother into being the vessel of the devil himself is one thing, but no I repeat no demon should ever, ever possess Jack’s body.
“What?”
“Yeah.” The demon said using Jack’s voice. “Sorry about that.” he shrugged nonchalantly.
“How in the hell—”
“Look I just got here and I needed a body so—”
“So you are a demon.” Sam asked to confirm this was a demon and not one of those spirits that came out of hell.
“Yeah. I would do the whole eyes thing but—no eyes.” He then walked over towards my bag and pulled out the sunglasses he and I once bought for him when he and I had some downtime together a few months back before we hung out with those teens we saved from the psycho serial killer clown.
“Put those down!” I snapped.  Of course he ignored me and put the shades over his eyes and he said.
“Sorry but I gotta blend in.”
“Get out of him!” Cas sneered.
“Look I know it’s weird. Okay where do I start? Like the first day of school. Hi, uhh my name’s Belphegor I—” I snapped as I trudged up towards him, gripped him by the throat and pinned him against the wall holding my demon blade.
“Get. Out of him!”
“Ooo wow kitty’s got claws. I like that in a woman. I would wink but like I said—no eyes.”
“I’m not gonna ask you again you son of a bitch!”
“Look, hey I can get you out of here. I can help.”
“(Y/n).” Dean said to me trying to get me to get off this demon possessing my boyfriend’s corpse.
“No, I’m with (y/n) on this. He’s an abomination!” Cas said as he came up over my shoulder.
“You’re an abomination with that stupid, dumb trench coat.” I pressed the blade closer to the demon’s neck and I snarled at him.
“You don’t get to talk to him!”
“(Y/n) hey, hey okay back off! Back up!” Dean said as he came up and forced me off the demon.
“He’s defiling his corpse Dean! And you’re acting like you don’t even give a shit! What if this were Mary, huh?!”
“Hey listen to me She-wolf. Jack’s gone! Okay I know you don’t want to admit it yet but your boyfriend’s gone! Now I say we just listen to what he has to say, and if we don’t like it. Then you and Cas can stab him.”
“(Y/n),” Sam’s voice spoke up softly.  I turned towards him and he agreed with Dean. “He’s right. We need to get out of here.” I forced myself out of Dean’s grip and walked away and faced the wall.
“Whew, feisty. She available?”
“Hey focus back to right here!” Dean snapped.
“Right. Look I’m not a crossroads demon or one of those black eyed ones that ooze slime to take out virgins or puppies or—virgin puppies. I like my job, I check in a soul, torment it. Repeat. Simple basic eternity to eternity job. You want all those bad guys back where they came from right? Me too. I mean—we’re like twinses guys.”
“We are not twinses!” Cas snarled.
“Can you fix this?” asked Sam gesturing towards outside.
“Umm no. but I can get you out of here.”
“How?” asked Dean.
“A little spell. You know nothing major.” God he was such a pain in the ass with his cycling of nonchalant teasing. “See a little graveyard dirt, and some uhh angel blood.”
“Cas.” I turned and watched as Cas reluctantly cut his palm with his angel blade and allowed some blood to flow into the demon’s hand.
“Oh wait, one more thing; I also need a lock of hair from a beautiful girl.” Oh hell no!
“You’re making that part up.” Cas stated.
“Actually I’m not. I need the hair otherwise it won’t work.” I walked up to him and Cas said.
“(Y/n) wait, you don’t have to do it. You know he’s lying.”
“Cas I don’t like it as much as you do but—what if he is telling the truth?” he and I looked at each other before I walked right up to the demon possessing my boyfriend’s body.  He gave me Jack’s famed grin that once made me flutter and go weak at the knees.
“Well beautiful?” I took out my pocketknife and picked up a strand of my long hair. Then I cut a strand from underneath so that way no one would notice an uneven strand of hair.
I held the hair in my hands and hesitantly held it over Jack’s hand before finally placing it on top of the dirt and Cas’ blood.  Just before I could remove my hand from his palm, his hand closed over mine and he hummed.
“Mm, so soft. Fierce and calloused but very soft at the same time. Been awhile since I held a girl’s hand.” I quickly took back my hand and held it over my chest and turned away getting creeped out.  Cas protectively wrapped his arm around me as the demon then just held his arms out like he was about to do a chant.
But all he did next was clap his hands, the soil, blood and my hair fell to the ground. At first I thought it did nothing, that was until I heard nothing but silence outside.
“Huh.” He bragged.  I was the first to race outside and all there were around were dead corpses no longer possessed.
“Holy shit.” I muttered.
“Didn’t I tell you? It worked. High five.” Belphegor said.
“The spirits have been destroyed.” Cas said as he walked ahead.
“No, I just blasted them out of those bodies. Yeah.”
“So where the hell are they now?” asked Dean.
We were now in the car driving on home hoping to figure out a plan.  Thankfully Cas sat between me and the demon possessing Jack because all the while through the drive, I could feel his—well metaphorically speaking his eyes were on me.
“You know—you’ve got some good style taste there doll. I like ‘em.”
“Don’t call me doll.” I lowly muttered.
“Alright Romeo enough with the flirting back there. That’s our sister and I wouldn’t press her if I were you. You think we’re bad, she’s worse than us.” Dean spoke.
“Empty threats. Not to say that you’re not strong there doll. I mean—every female demons has envied you for the way you’ve been known to torture us. In fact some learn from you.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere with me.”
“On that note explain to me this, how many souls are we talking about specifically?” asked Sam trying to drive the conversation away.
“What you mean in hell?” asked Belphegor as Sam nodded.
“Oh I don’t know 2-3 billion.” Great.
“Okay for now we just stick to the plan. We head back to the bunker. Figure a way to close the riff.” Dean said as he kept driving.
“If you can.” Said Belphegor.
“You got any better ideas?”
“I do not. But if you wanna buy some time, you could just—contain the ghosts.”
“How?” I asked.
“Magic.” He stated with a shrug.
“And you just happen to know the right spell?” asked Cas skeptically.
“Lucky you.”
“What do you mean by contain them?” questioned Dean.
“Magical circle about a mile wide. No ghosts get in, no ghost get out.”
“Yeah, great, great.”
“But Sam we can’t. Harland, Kansas is less than a mile from the cemetery. What are we gonna do about the people there?”
“We get them out.” Dean stated.
“How?” asked Cas.
“We lie.”
As we drove on we soon found an abandoned car still running up ahead with its lights on.
“Whoa, whoa pull over for a second Dean.” Dean did as Sam suggested and we parked right behind the abandoned car.  My brothers and I got out of Baby and we shined out flashlights on the car.
The first thing I noticed was the blood along the window, the radio was still playing but there was no body so this wasn’t your typical murder.  Yet for some reason this scene was very familiar to me.
“This look so familiar to you guys?” asked Dean.
“Looks like a—woman in white.” Said Sam.
“Exactly.” I remembered back on the first case after we got Sam out of Stanford of the woman in white.
“Guys….I think this is our woman in white.”
“No way we sent her to hell years ago.” Dean said.
“No think about it. God opens up the doorway to hell, every soul to ever go down there escapes. Including our woman in white.” I explained.
“But then that means if she’s back—” Sam stated off before Dean finished his brother’s thought.
“Then every last one we ever killed and sent down there is back.” Well that’s just great.
By morning, donning on our fake FBI uniforms, we headed for Harland and began to evacuate the city.
“Alright look (y/n). Sam and I got the evacuation part down, so why don’t you and Cas take Crowley Jr. and get him the things he needs.”
“Are you serious Dean?” I snapped. “Dean you—you really don’t care how this is making me feel do you? I—I can’t even look at him. I just—I just can’t…..” I took off down the street and he called out to me.
I sat down on a nearby bench and pressed my face into hands trying to contain my sobs but I could feel tears in my eyes.
“(Y/n).” I looked up to see Cas standing over me.  He sat down beside me and I said to him.
“If you’re—trying to make me go back there and make amends with Dean then uhh—” I looked around and found an abandoned half eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwich. “I’m about to hit you in the head with a PB&J sandwich.”
“No, no I—I get why you walked away from him. I—can’t even look at….you know. So I can’t imagine how it must be for you. After all you and Jack….”
“It may have seemed difficult to decipher our relationship especially when his soul completely burned out. But—somehow even in that soulless way, he still made me believe he was in love with me. I have no idea how but—he did. I just….feel like this is all my fault.”
“It wasn’t. The only person to blame for Jack’s death is God. All this time following his orders and commands, and this is how I’m repaid.”
“To be fair we did kinda make you turn against your traditionalist ways. I mean remember how you were back then.”
“Yeah I guess I did have a stick up my butt.”
“Not even a stick is big enough Cas to describe how stuck-up you were.” I teased which caused the two of us for the first time to actually laugh.  It was small but still a laugh.  “I just wish he was still here. Like here here, not some demon possessing him using his voice and doing those little quirks he did.”
“I know. So do I.” he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and hugged me close to him. “So do I. I promised his mom I would take care of him, now I feel like I let her down. Again.”
Eventually I went with Cas and Sam to do some evacuations.  I went to one house just three blocks from where Cas went.  Holding my shotgun close and ready to fire in case any ghosts came up, I called out.
“Hello? Anybody here?” I cautiously walked along the hallways leading towards the upstairs bedrooms.  But when I opened the door, I held in my puke for right there before me were two teenage girls around my age covered in blood, however most of the blood came from their eyes and I knew only one legend that ever made that happen.
Bloody Mary.
I quickly raced to find a nearby mirror.  It worked on her once before and it should work on her again.  But just as I went to grab the mirror that hung in the hallway, she suddenly appeared before me in my reflection then turned into me.
Blood started tearing down my face as I couldn’t look away now.  She had me.
“Been a long time Winchester sister. And in all that time you’ve become a killer, just like your brothers. All those people you’ve helped kill, Kevin, Charlie, Bobby, but worst of all precious Jack. It’s your fault all this happened to him. If he hadn’t liked you, he’d still have his grace.”
“Shut up……shut up!” I soon felt this agonizing pain as I collapsed into the table and she soon came out of the mirror repeating over and over that it was my fault, my fault, my fault.
“Hey.” Oh shit it—it couldn’t be him. I looked up and through the blood that had dripped down from my eyes, I could see Jack’s body standing before us.  Bloody Mary turned into Jack and said.
“You’re a true monster. Killing Sam and Dean Winchester’s mother. Releasing the archangel Michael, it’s all your fault.”
“Yeah sorry there Mary but,” he lifted his shades revealing the burnt out holes in them. “Plus I’m not this guy uhh—Jack. So you might as well hit the road bitch cause honestly out of all the legends you were the worst, and as a demon I don’t mean in the good way.” Mary phased back into herself and launched at the demon but he held up a mirror before her.
And just like last time, her reflection spoke back to her which killed her right then and there.  The mirror shattered and the demon shook the glass off of him.
“That bitch is gonna have it in for me when I get back. Lucky for her, I’ve got something up my sleeve for her for leaving hell in the first place.” Slowly I got up and wiped the blood out of my eyes. “Red looks good on you.” I growled and steadied myself up along the wall. “What? No thank you for saving your ass?”
“Not from you. Had it been Cas or Sam I would thank them. But not to creeps like you.”
“Aww c’mon babe after all the fun we had last night?”
“That was for the spell only and you know it! Now did you find your ingredients for the spell? Does Dean even know you left him?”
“Technically no. See for whatever reason I found myself here and I could hear you screaming….well bloody Mary up here so I figured might as well save one Winchester, maybe their cute sister and maybe get on a better side with you and the others.”
“Saving my life doesn’t atone for what you are.” I said as I cleaned my face up in the bathroom.
“Why so stuck on me? It’s not like I had a choice. This body was the nearest one I could find. I would’ve found another back at the cemetery but those meat suits were well you know. Wormy. Difficult to blend. I sorta got an answer from your brother but I wanna hear your side now. Who was he to you?”
I turned the tap off and stared at him through the mirror.  I dabbed my eyes with a towel and muttered.
“He was a friend.”
“Ahh there it is.”
“What’s there?” I demanded.
“See down there,” he pointed downward gesturing to hell. “You may be praised for your fighting skills and some torture methods. But you are laughed at for your lying skills. I mean I know there’s some truth to it, but I know there’s gotta be more.”
He then slowly walked closer towards me as he continued.
“So c’mon just between us. Was he—Your confidant? Your secret keeper?” he now stood almost chest to chest with me as he now had me up against the vanity counter. “Your boyfriend?” at that my breath hitched sharply. “Ahhh, ding-ding. Seems I’ve found a winner?”
“So what if he was? Just because you have his body and use his voice to talk, doesn’t mean that you’re him. So stop with the flirtation and just—” suddenly I felt his lips on mine.
I almost lashed out but I was suddenly hit back to the time Jack and I shared our first kiss in Apocalypse world.  Jack had just performed another puppet show for the kids, we told them an epic tale of a young warrior searching across the galaxy to eventually become a great warrior (Star Wars).
After getting all the little ones to bed, Jack and I just stayed up and talked and that’s when I leaned in and kissed him.  At first I regretted it because he just sat there in shock, but when he kissed me back I threw my regret out the window and just accepted the kiss.  And ever since then, we’ve been a couple.
I felt Jack’s hands cup underneath my chin just as he always placed them whenever we kissed.  I tried to resist but I guess this is what I needed for long.  Ever since his soul got burned out, his kisses didn’t hold the same feeling of love as they had compared to our first kiss.
Wait—what the fuck are you doing (y/n)?! You’re kissing a demon! A bloody demon! I whined and pushed him away from me and I slapped him in the face.
“Never. Kiss me. Again!” I snarled.
“Oh yeah like I haven’t heard that before.” He teased.
“I’m serious. Whatever you think is happening between us, forget it! Now get your stuff for the spell and get out of my sight!”
“As you wish. My sapphire star.” My heart stopped as he actually used the nickname Jack gave me.  I turned back around and saw that he was gone.
“(Y/n)! (Y/n)!” soon running up the stairs was Cas. “I heard you screaming as I got closer to the house, are you alright?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. I’m fine.” He cupped my face before saying.
“Your eyes are bleeding.”
“Oh right I—I had a little reunion with bloody Mary. But I handled it.” It was best not to tell Cas about the demon coming to save me, since I really had no real father figure in my life Cas has kinda filled in that role after getting him to loosen up a bit and hanging around us humans for a while.
“Does anything else hurt?”
“Well I’ve got a splitting headache.”
“Here.” He placed his two fingers to the center of my forehead and I felt this warmth come over me.
“Thanks Cas.”
“No problem. Come on Sam might need us.” I nodded and the two of us headed outside.
After reuniting with my brother and saving a mother and daughter from the killer clown as well as some other ghosts that popped out.  We saw this bright light suddenly rushing across the ground like the tide coming out.
“The spell.” I said.  The ghosts all glared at us and took chase.
“Run! Run get them out of here!” Sam urged us.  I picked up the kid and took off running down the street.  Once we got to across a certain path of the road, the ghosts stopped and psycho clown couldn’t reach us with his knife.  He growled before yelling at us before my brother finally told him to shut up.
“It’s done. They can’t get out now.” I said.
“C’mon we gotta get to the high school.” Sam said as we now walked calmly out of the neighborhood to meet up with Dean and Balthagar.
After getting the mom and daughter to the high school five miles away, I was leaning against the wall of the high school when I felt two familiar hands cover my eyes.
“Guess who?”
“Enough.” I elbowed him in the chest.
“Ow! Hey I thought we had something back in the bathroom?”
“I already told you, you may wear Jack’s body but you aren’t him. You even touch me again, and I’ll let you see firsthand why demons down there probably talk about me.”
“Ohhh, kinky. I look forward to it.” He flirted.  I glared at him and walked away from him.  I came up to my brothers who were looking inside Baby’s trunk.
“Did he just cover your eyes playing the guess who game you and Jack used to do?” asked Dean.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” I told him bluntly.  He looked towards Belphegor and he said.
“Listen, if he tries to flirt with you in anyway talk to us, okay. I—I had a talking to with Cas and he set me right. I should’ve been more understanding of what all this has meant to you (n/n) I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright. All of this really has gone to shit. I mean not just the souls of hell being free but God literally screwing us over. I mean—guys pardon my French but…..we are in some serious horse shit.”
“She’s right. I mean yeah we can keep up the lie for what 1 maybe 2 days before the real FBI shows.” Sam agreed with me.  We already had two encounters with law enforcement we don’t need a third strike.
“Yeah I figured. But right now we need to get you fixed up.” Dean said gesturing to Sam’s shoulder.  Of course stubborn as an ox Sam Winchester refused but with Dean’s persuasion he managed to talk Sam into showing him the bullet wound he telepathically got after shooting God.
It wound itself looked like it was about to close up but when Dean said there was no exit wound, I got a little worried.
“Hey you remember when you were little, and how I used to always distract you? You know when it involved a band-aid or something like that?” Dean asked as he got the rubbing alcohol out and poured it onto a cotton patch.
“Yeah you—used to tell some stupid joke. You even did it for the munchkin there.”
“Don’t go there green giant.” I mocked.
“Knock, knock.” Sam at first turned away like it was a joke. “Come on knock, knock.”
“Who’s—” before he could say there, Dean placed the patch on his bullet wound.
“Still got it.” Dean praised himself with a grin.  I shook my head and I said nervously.
“Hey guys,” they turned towards me and I continued, “So—when Chuck said welcome to the end…..do you think he meant this? I mean by like—ending the entire human race with ghosts, demons, and all that?”
“Baby girl you know as well as I do he’s been playing us the entire time. So screw him.” Dean said.
“I know but….think about it. If one of us dies, that’s it. We’ve been lucky in the past but now that he’s pissed at us. He’s gonna ensure that no one or nothing brings us back. No resurrections this time. I may not look it but—I’m terrified guys.” Sam being the caring brother that he is, wrapped his arms around me in a big bear hug and I continued. “We’re nothing but rats to him. And now that he’s had his fun, he’s gonna ensure that we end up in the pathway with furious cats ready to devour us. While he just sits back and watches us being ripped apart.”
“Yeah nothing but rats in a maze. Sure we could go left, sure we could go right. But we were stuck in the damn maze. It makes you think—what did all of it mean?” Dean said agreeing with me.
“It meant a lot.” Sam answered. “We still saved people, saved you kiddo.” Sam said looking down at me.
“But what for?” I asked.  He stroked down my hair.  “He just throws us one end of the world after another and sits back just to make us do all the hard work.”
“Yeah. That’s what he does. He gets bored and-and-and-and pulls the rip-chord. That’s what he did with Apocalypse world, and probably….. with all of them. He moves on and starts another story. And you know what—good. Because if he bailed it’s just us. For the first time; it’s just us.”
“You forgot the 3 billion ghosts there Sammy.” I said.
“Yeah well what’s one more apocalypse right?” I softly laughed and shook my head. Sam patted my back comfortingly as he separated from me. “But seriously. If we win—when we win this. God’s gone. There’s no one to screw with us, there’s no more maze, it’s just us. Then we’re free.”
“So you, me and (n/n) versus every soul in hell……I like those odds.”
“Yeah. Me too.” The boys looked at me and Dean asked me.
“(N/n)?” I looked at them.  I sighed deeply before saying.
“Well….I guess you know what this means, right boys?” they softly grinned at me and we turned towards Baby’s trunk as Sam said.
“We’ve got work to do.” Before closing it up.

Faves and fails of SPN (season 15, finally):
Favorite episodes (in chronological order):
15:4 Atomic Monsters - Demon!Sam flashbacks! Dean in a beard! Some old fashioned banter! Meatman! Beaverdale! Love how Sam starts arguing w the parents in the parking lot - Me too, Sam, me too. Loving the self-aware monster. I know Becky is problematique™, but I dig her, so, all kinds of fuck Chuck. He must die, and when he does this is the episode I’ll think about.
15:6 Golden Time - Badass protection spells. Dean in a robe and a hot dog pyjamas. Cas going by Clarence. Jogging Sam. Eileen! God I ship her and Sam, and I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that I don’t ship him w anyone. Liking this ep a lot, every little side plot. Nice. And Eileen is back and I know it won’t last but like, that was awesome.
15:10 The Heroes’ Journey - Pretty neat intro. Monster on monster violence to the sound of Clair the Lune. Oh, and excellent casting of Garth’s kids. Regular people trouble... Awesome! Brilliant! This is the kind of meta storylines this show should deal in, exclusively. Oh my Garth! Explosives! Why isn’t every episode like this?
15:11 The Gamblers - Oh, is this another lucky coin episode? In that case yes please! More inconsequential bullshit kindly! Loving Sam staying in touch w Eileen. Hey guys, remember when you did the gambling thing w your years? And the rabbit’s foot? Good times. Will this be an equally good time? I hope so. A god! Excellent. ”Lady, I’m Tolstoy.” Yeah ya are, and i’m dead. The guys and Fortuna bashing god. And I'm equally delighted and distraught over the lore that god created man, man imagined gods and god decided to create the other gods to play into man’s ideas, or as a distraction.
15:13 Destiny’s Child - Omg the intro! Savage garden! I’m dead. Jack w the sandwich, why is that so funny? Cas is a gem this episode! ”’Sexually intimate’?” Lol. That’s what you get for trying to speak plainly, Cas! Hunter Corp. I’m dead, again. Keep the different Deans and Sams coming! I’m digging this! Why would they send ‘em to Rio? They could be your buffy-bots!
Tumblr media
15:14 Last Holiday - Weird people popping up in the hq is awesome. And Dean’s immediate instinct to yell for Sam reminds me of me calling mr mess for everything! ”Shouldnt you be in the woods? Nymfing?” Monster radar? Oh, oh this is excellent. So mrs Butters is capable of murder when home and family are threatened, good for her. They better not kill her. I can accept them returning her to the wild. Yes! Did I call it or did I call it? Good Supernatural, good boy! And Dean making a cake for Jack! My heart.
Fail episodes (in chronological order):
15:2 Raising Hell - Rowena! Instant win. Ketch. Instant lose. Ketch undressing Rowena with his eyes = rating plummeting. Jeez. A bit dangerous even joking about the GoT finale, don’t you think? Rowena and Ketch full on flirting... this is hell, I'm being punished.
15:3 The Rupture - Don’t call him god! His name is Sucky-Chucky. The shock of Cas! “You’ve been playing us the whole time!” This is how it works Cas, where have you been? They're always solving problems like Jason Mendoza. In-Dean-angry-voice: “Anytime I had a problem and I threw a Molotov cocktail, boom! Right away, I had a different problem.” Rowena! And Sam! No!
15:5 Proverbs 17:3 - Listen, spn, it’s your last season and if you like just wanna stop writing and casting women completely rn i won't stop you or hold it against you (also why are these ladies identical?). We’ve had a terrible run but lets just let bygones be bygones.
15:8 Our father, who aren’t in heaven - Gosh, having Eileen in the show is painful, I’m just constantly expecting a piano to fall on her head. *Ugh* Sucky-yucky-Chucky. But hey, at least everybody else looks better alongside him. Case and point: I never rly cared that much for Donatello, but it’s great to see him, and Michael’s back, sure is nice to see him too.
15:9 The trap - Ugh. Main plot shit and Sucky-yucky-fucking-Chucky. Fail. Although the flashforward to jan 6th 2021 was a hoot (but probably not meant like one, huh?) Dean’s monologue in purgatory though... gosh. This show would be nothing w/o Jensen Ackles. Omg the kiss! Nice. However, the show at this point has lost the ability to offer any sort of pleasure. Because like Sam, we know which way this will go. They used to have some hedonism working for the characters but now they don’t even have that.
Tumblr media
15:20 Carry on - You know what? I’m not gonna make this post longer than it already is talking about the last episode of Supernatural, that has been done better by people w real grievances w the show. The kindest thing you can say about the finale is that it just as well could’ve been jammed into a few extra minutes added to the previous episode.
Mediocre mentions:
Drag me away (from you) - what is this ugly cell interface? The opposite of product placement. Yay! Retro episode! And they got the same actor to play Dean, neato! Dean admitting he had a hard time handling hunting, that always gets me. Woah! That scream effect without reverb was kinda startling. And the camera zooming in on the little porcelain clown even though Sam is nowhere n- oh shit. This was an interesting episode
Inherit the earth - Goooood I hate Chucky. Barefoot Sam is okay though. Digging this soundtrack too. Very un-Supernatural. Nice to meet ya Betty, but I wouldn’t pull up a chair if I were you. Always a fan of the shiteating grin. Jack, stripping god of his power, that’s so hot. And again: kudos to the soundtrack! The Youngbloods and then Jackson freakin’ Browne! And you know, it’s clichéd and kinda vacant, but also kinda nice. I’m cool with the story ending like this. Why did they have to do another one? Supernatural has never known when to quit, and this is the very real backside of this.
Honorable mentions:
I don’t know who this Ardat chick is but killing Ketch puts her instantly in my win column.
Winchester-dumb, new household term.
”Feels like were taking a big, probably stupid risk. Feels good.” That made me feel good too.
I’m vastly enjoying this dark-art hippie couple in Unity and Jack’s interaction w them.
Cas launching straight into his dramatic I-will-not-let-you-end-your-own-life-speech when Sam casually mentions he’d like to talk to death in Unity, that angel has seen some things, and he has learned.
Those are some pretty pretty death effects on Jack in Despair/The Truth.
Obviously Misha Collins
Things that makes you go hmm:
Which of the clowns is this supposed to be in Back and to the Future? Because the one from season 2 was a monster, right? So he would’ve gone to purgatory. You know what? I’m not an expert. I try to not pay too much attention ’cause it makes me funny in the head. But just, y’know, a general objection.
Here’s my deal w death as a looming threat in this show: it holds no weight. And even if it did it has been painted as the ultimate relief, unless you go to hell, these characters know for a fact that there’s a potentially blissful afterlife, so their attitude towards death should be, what? More pragmatic, I think. And it’s partly why Ackles is wasted on this show; That man can deliver a death monologue like it’s nobody’s business, too bad all those words have been rendered meaningless after 15 seasons of this shit!
Tumblr media
Summing up:
So, I did not go into or leave this season happy, I knew how it would end and I was sad for everyone the show screwed over (more than it already had). Which really meant that I always had to force myself to watch another episode, knowing what was coming. But I had to see it through. I did, so I’ll give myself a pat on the back and get to work on my own personal selection of episodes that will henceforth represent spn to me. A selection I’ll enjoy all the way through. All in all I think the most frustrating thing about the show is how it insists on taking itself so freakin’ seriously. It has always done horror *and* humor best and this whole heaven and hell aspect has never sat right w me, and in any case they should’ve leaned more on “supernatural” narrative tropes (if you will) getting out of their plot problems, gambled some more and thought a bit more outside genre conventions *especially* in their main arcs, they opened up so many opportunities that they never even used. They could’ve been more like Buffy, or Doctor Who. That said, I’ll always get that spn-itch, and when I do, I’ll be happy to have seen all the episodes so I’ll know which ones to avoid.

SPN 15X15 Observations
The saga of my shitty cable/internet provider continues. This week I was again watching it on my computer through the streaming app since TV still isn’t getting reliable reception, and my internet connection kept dropping! (Luckily, I’ve also set it to record, so I was able to re-watch the episode after it aired.) So, my notes are much less coherent probably, and I’ve had a long day so my after-episode thoughts probably are too.
Everything else under the cut for those who wish to avoid spoilers and all my rambling:
- Connor isn't going to last long. - wtf? (freaky teddy bear!) - "she and I used to have a thing"? Seriously Dean? - Cas: "Sam?" (aka "Please be the reasonable one.") - soooooo much salt from Cas. - "Agent Swift!" - BABY YODA!!!! - I think the crossroads thing is Cas just making a phone call more or less. - Cas, there are NEVER "too many cats". - LOL I love Cas' literalness - Eeeeee..... love them bonding. - Hrm. So there's definitely a karmic element to these killings. I mean, "Lair" seemed like a bit of a stretch for the other kid, unless the "lie" was in him agreeing with the snobby girls. But I have a feeling this lady here is going to end up with something like "thief" carved into her. (So, thoughts: Avenging Angel? Just Deserts? Probably something new.)
- Also I feel like there was maybe something in that "previously" scene that I don't remember seeing before. (Was talking about Dean going into detail about needing to take Amara out as well as Chuck. I remember part of that conversation, but some parts felt "new" to me? Though I've only seen through this current season once, so I might just not be remembering everything right.) - Sam's worried/concerned about Jack! <3 - "At least this time it's not you and me." Oh man does that feel like foreshadowing. - Not sure I trust the pastor. - I've been watching this show too long. They all feel sketchy. Especially the girl with the headband. *LOL* - Oh man. Are they really going "Torture Porn" on us again? (Apparently) - His (Jack’s) Mom died 3 years ago too. - "I have more dads than most." <3 - "Put your trust in God." Wow. *LOL* Poor Jack. - Cas, you're totally one of his dads. But yes. It is complicated. - Ahhh. Maybe that's what the "Liar" thing was about. (Connor being gay and hiding it?) - Hi Amara! (My cat wants to get into my closet.)
- Amara's still in relatively light colors.
(Stupid internet signal is being a pain)
- I wish I knew what was going on.
(Aaaaand more internet problems)
- I love Cas! (still confused about what's going on.)
- So, what's with the random demon in the squad car? - Dammit.... I had a feeling Jack would end up having to die to kill Chuck and Amara.
(OKAY! Now that the episode is over, I'm going to re-watch parts of it so I can find out what the hell I missed! (still irritated))
- Jack HAS one of those teddy's! I wonder which one got it for him.... (My guess is Sam or Cas) - Maybe it was Zack in the cop car at the end? He DID say he was really bored. - Reason why I was thinking it might be something supernatural was because the one who did it seemed to know in advance who they were going after, but that lady just now stole from the poor box. So, how did the daughter know? Unless she'd done it before? Hrm. - Minor note: "We've been on the road almost two days." WTF? SPN doing somewhat realistic travel times?! *LMAO* - Trying to tell what's in her other hand. Looks like it's duct-taped closed into a fist around something. A transmitter maybe? It's an odd detail that I don't think gets explained. - So, did she call him a "liar" because she saw the two of them as having dated and then he came out as gay at some point? - So, they're just gonna leave the Impala there while it's gassing up? *LOL* - I still love Cas for this part. Sharing his "Journey". - Okay, got to see the guys' talk with Amara. (At least the first half of it.) I still think it's risky for Dean to tell her about Jack even being a player on the board. Though I get that he had to give her SOMETHING so she would get that the threat is credible. That they actually CAN do something against Chuck. - Also, SPN can't settle on its history. *LOL* But that's nothing new. Back in S5 it was God and Death and Death couldn't remember who came first. Then at the end of Season 10 we got an updated version with the Darkness (Who didn't seem to have met Death prior to her imprisonment.) Now, Darkness and God were twins. - Ewwwwww.... dead guy. - Wow.... They actually textualized that. (About Mary.) - He sounded like he meant it when he said "I will never hurt you." - I still love Cas being a subtle badass. - Jack... it's NOT the only way... (And I'm pretty sure Sam HAS forgiven Jack. But I don't think they've really talked.)
SO.
I apologize that my "notes" this time are a train-wreck, but so was my internet connection, so sadly, this is what happens when I watch part of the episode, miss some important bits, and watch most of the rest of it (while still missing more bits) and then when it's finally over I can finally go back and re-watch the bits I'd missed. And I wound up mostly just re-watching the whole thing again anyway. And some things definitely made more sense, and I definitely noticed some things I hadn't caught the first time.
I know a lot of people aren't going to like it because it mostly featured Cas and Jack while being light on the brothers. (But there WAS some good brother content!) I did enjoy it well enough though. (Like, it's not gonna make my top 10 total episodes, but I liked it better than a lot of the ones earlier this season.)
Organizing my thoughts is gonna be a bit hard (I've had a long day) but I'll make an attempt here.
Cas and Jack's arc: It definitely had a more old-school SPN horror vibe to me, though more like some of the newer horror movies (like Saw and the like) and I think both characters were written well. We had two awkward angels who still don't get all things human, but they obviously care. There was also a lot of talk about God in a way that I felt made both of them feel awkward considering their perspective on Chuck. I do still wonder though about some of the details of what Sylvia was doing. Like, I get how she'd probably been stewing about the one boy for a while. But the lady (could never quite tell if it was Valerie or Mallory) had literally JUST stolen from the donation box when she stepped outside into the trap laid for her. So, was this maybe a habit of her's? How would Sylvia have known about it beforehand? And also, what was with the crossroads demon at the very end posing as/possessing a police officer? Is he going rogue because he's bored? Is he acting on some weird kind of orders? I saw some theories about maybe the Dad made a crossroads deal to spring his daughter, but... I dunno. Unless it's supposed be a tease for something to come later, it feels odd and random.
Overall, I did really like Cas in this episode. I thought his blend of salt, cluelessness, and altruism was good, and I loved what he said about his past, and how he found his new purpose. Because he has been drifting quite a bit since he lost his original purpose. But he definitely seems to have found it again with Jack. So naturally he gets to find out that Jack is fated to die taking out God and the Darkness. *sigh* Dude CANNOT catch a break! Also, JACK! I love him so much! (And honestly, I'd had suspicions already that this is what had been troubling him. I'm glad he finally told one of his dads at least.)
Also, just wanna reiterate, I loved that bit at the beginning when Dean suggests Cas and Jack go tackle this case "that probably isn't anything (supernatural)" and he turns to Sam like "Please be the sane one here." (My hope/headcanon is that Sam encouraged him to go because he knows something has been troubling Jack, and if Jack won't open up to Sam about it, maybe he was hoping he'd open up to Cas at least. Then maybe SOMEONE could help him. But I don't know if the writers are thinking that deeply about Sam.)
Speaking of Sam and Dean... Okay, overall I thought their part of the episode was okay for what we saw. Like, the brother talk in the Impala, mild bickering about driving times and regular mundane stuff. Also their talk with Amara had some GOOD emotional beats in it. For Dean and Amara. Sam was mostly just there. And then he wasn't even there for the main part. So... *sigh* It's not that I begrudge Dean having that moment. I mean, he definitely had more of a connection to Amara than Sam did. But it still feels like not much really happened with him besides being a soundingboard and showing some concern for Jack. Hopefully we get more of him actually being important to the plot in upcoming episodes.
But let me reiterate that I DID like the talk Dean and Amara had! I'm glad that she textualized something that I know a lot of fans have theorized about Mary and her purpose narratively. That prior to her resurrection she had been put on this pedestal, but Dean and Sam were actually able to get to know the real woman. That the real woman was better than the memory because she WAS real. Flaws and all. (Not that I blame Dean for being angry.) I'm just glad that it was said outright. Because I got the feeling from some of the things Samantha Smith has said at cons that that was part of the point of Mary's character since S12, to make her real. And I know a lot of people couldn't see past her flaws and still hate her. (I DO think some things could have been handled better with her character, but that's not the point of this long rambly post today.) Also, when Dean said that he could never hurt her? It felt like him telling the truth. Maybe he was able to get that feeling across because technically he WAS telling the truth, since the plan is for Jack to be the one doing the hurting. But I dunno.
Anyway, overall I thought it was a decent episode. It had some good character moments in it, and considering I thiiiiink the next episode is going to be very Sam and Dean heavy, I'm not gonna begrudge Cas and Jack some screentime in this one since things are likely going to be getting dicey here fairly soon.
(And again, I apologize for how scattered this is this time.)
P.S. Oh, and one last thing before I forget. Especially after last episode, I find it odd that Jack still thinks BOTH brothers haven't forgiven him. I get why he would think that about Dean. The dude outright said it was going to take some time. But Sam, as far as we've seen has been shown to be supportive of Jack. So, I wonder if it's because Jack still hasn't forgiven himself? Or if it's because maybe he and Sam haven't really talked about that whole issue, so maybe Jack thinks Sam is just avoiding it? (Or if the writers are just lumping Sam&Dean together again because WHY would anyone see them as two separate entities? *salty*) Because if anyone in this show SHOULD be aware that the brothers don't always think the same it should be Jack. Because from the start Sam has tended to hold a different stance in regards to him than Dean. *sigh* Ah well. We'll see how things fall out. Especially considering what Cas (I’m assuming anyway) told Dean about Jack and Billy’s plan.

I’m a Lover, I’m A Fighter
Tumblr media
Victor Henrickson had some weird cases as a cop; he could tell you bizarre arrests, weird suicides and fucked up reason for murder. But this was a strange one.
The case centered on Fergus Crowley, who is known as a shrewd businessman as both pawnshop owner and realtor. Crowley usually gives an air of superiority and coiffed. So it pretty much shocked the entire police force when they found out Crowley beat up the town drunk, John Winchester, with a pair of brass knuckles.
Victor entered the interrogation room, along with his partner, Cole. Crowley was in handcuffs, looking calm and bored as usual. He looked up at Victor and smiled.
“Henrickson.” He nodded as Cole and Victor sat across him.
“Ok, Crowley, why did you do this?” Cole asked, “I mean, it’s not your style and why would you do that to John of all people?”
“Yeah, Crowley.” Victor said, “You send him to the hospital.”
Crowley just looked them back at them calmly and then sighed.
“I’m gonna tell you gents a story.” Crowley said, “I assure you, it has everything to do with what happened.”
The two men looked skeptically at each other, but they then shrugged. They quicker they finished this, the better.
“Well, I came here to Sioux Falls on business. Yes, it was a pawn shop, but it was cash for cash business.”
“I then had trouble with my car, so I brought it to the only garage I seen, Singer Salvage. That’s when I met Robert Singer.”
Victor raised an eyebrow. Everyone knew Bobby Singer, he had a huge junkyard. He was also a crusty, grumpy old man who drank and swears a lot. Crowley saw his face and chuckled.
“Ys, I know. He was very crusty when I met him.” He laughed, “I thought he was a drunk redneck and he thought I was a pompous ass.”
Crowley just shrugged and said, “He was probably right.”
“Since this is a small town, we kept running into each other and we discovered we had the same love for mythology and lore.” Crowley said with a smile.
“He was good company and we learned we had other things in common…including our parentage.”
Victor and Cole noticed Crowley started acting fidgety, but he quickly masked it.
“Next thing I knew, two years have passed and well…we fell for each other. We have been living together for quite a bit.”
Both officers looked surprised at that.
“I didn’t know that.” Cole blurted out, making Crowley give him a condescending smirk.
“Well, so sorry about that.” He said sarcastically.
“As I was saying, we were pretty hot and heavy for a while. But we talked about other thing, he was great company. But what really sold it for was what he did for those boys.”
Cole and Victor looked confused at Crowley’s statement.
“Boys?” Victor said.
“I’m sure you know of the Winchester boys?”
Cole and Victor nodded; they both went to school with Dean and his little brother, Sam.
“Well, let’s just say their daddy has a peculiar habit of dropping his boys at Bobby’s and then picking them up from god knows how long like little pets. Bobby hated that, but he loved these boys.”
Crowley sighed as he wrestled with his hands.
“Finally, when Dean was 16, he was hospitalized and well…we all knew who and why it happened. That’s when he had enough. He took the boys in and threatened John with his shotgun. That’s when dear old John scurries away.”
Victor couldn’t help but squirm in his seat. He remembers whenever he saw Dean in school; he always had strange bruises on his arms or a black eye. But dean was always a hothead, so he thought he just got those in fights. He didn’t think it was from his old man.
“But I digress.” Crowley said, “Bobby got custody of the boys and they never been happier. If anything, it helped their own sexuality crisis.”
He then looked at the two police officers and grinned.
“I understand you been invited to squirrels and his boy toys wedding.”
The two men nodded with smiles of their own. Dean and Castiel met three years ago and after a year of oblivious affection to each other, they hit it off.
“I guess I should mention my own nuptials, about a year ago.”
“Um, Congratulations.” Cole said.
“Anyway this is finally brings us to the present.” Crowley said, “It seems John decided to come back.”
Seeing he got the men’s attention, he continued.
“Somehow, he heard Squirrel was getting married and wanted to meet his fiancé.” Crowley said with a smirk,” Imagine his surprise when he found it was a man.”
Victor and Cole cringed at that.
“Ah yes, it was that bad.” Crowley said, “Then he found about Robert and I. he blamed him, saying that he turned his son into a faggot.”
Crowley rolled his eyes at the last statement as though it personally offend him; he then frowned.
“We were at the Roadhouse and they took it outside. We finally hear John’s truck and figured that was it. Then we heard a loud noise and then Bobby crying out. We got outside and found Bobby bleeding on the ground and Johns tuck speeding away.”
“You think John hit Bobby with his car?” Cole said.
“I don’t think, I know!” Crowley said, “I know that son of a botch nearly killed my husband.”
Crowley then composed himself and then glared hard at the two police officers.
“Bobby and I came from shite families, with a whole treasure trove of vices. I watched him raise those boys ten times better then John. Bobby Singer is someone I’m damn proud of calling my husband!”  Crowley growled out, anger present in his voice.
“Now tell me something, why should Robert be in the hospital, almost half dead and that wanker walking around?”
Crowley’s smug smile came back.
“So, I had to make sure he knew that his actions had consequences.”
“So, you went to the bar where he was…” Cole said, “And you…what, waited for him?”
“Yes, the wanker was drunk as usual. He saw me and called a fairy.”
Crowley chuckled darkly.
“Then I showed him what a fairy can do.”
Crowley then sighed as he leaned back against the chair, crossing his arms.
“So, what are we gonna do here, gentleman?”
Victor and Cole sighed and looked at each other. This was a tough one.
Crowley beat the crap out of John, but it’s pretty obvious that John hit Bobby with his car, which prompted Crowley to do it in the first place. John was a scumbag, but he they still have to enforce the law.
“We have to hold you, until someone comes to bail you out.” Victor said, “You will be charged unless John comes to and drops it.”
Crowley nodded and stood up, while Cole took his arm and lead him back to his cell. He then looked back at Victor.
“I don’t regret a damn thing.” He said before he was led out of the room. Victor sighed and rubbed his face
You will never hear it from him, but the only good thing about it is that John knows what it’s like to be the victim.
Kudos, Crowley, Kudos.
AN: Man, this one took a while. I was inspired by a CSI NY episode where Mark Sheppard plays a Irish longshoreman that killed a man by beating him with brass knuckles. That just stuck with me, so the main theme of this was Crowley beating up someone with brass knuckles.
People who read my stories know how I feel about John, so don’t be too surprised by my John hate. Cole and Victor are the first ones it thought of with the police officers. Crowley won’t admit it, but he has a soft spot for the boys and his husband. I had to put Crowley as a pawnshop owner, I just got Rumplestilktson vibes.
Crobby for the win!
Comments are loved! I don’t own SPN!
