Getting fake components into the supply chain is easier than you might think. As a manufacturer of hardware, I have to deal with fake components all the time. This is especially true for batteries – most popular consumer electronic devices already have a healthy gray market for replacement batteries. These are batteries that look the same as OEM batteries and fetch an OEM price, but are made with sub-par components. Aside from taking advantage of gray and secondary markets, there are multiple opportunities along the route from the factory to you to tamper with goods – from the customs inspector, to the courier. But you don’t even have to go so far as offering anyone a bribe or being a state-level agency to get tampered batteries into a supply chain. Anyone can buy a bunch of items from Amazon, swap out the batteries, restore the packaging and seals, and return the goods to the warehouse (and yes, there is already a whole industry devoted to copying packaging and security seals for the purpose of warranty fraud). The perpetrator will be long-gone by the time the device is resold. Depending on the objective of the campaign, no further targeting may be necessary – just reports of dozens of devices simultaneously detonating in your home town may be sufficient to achieve a nefarious objective. Note that such a “reverse-logistics injection attack” works even if you on-shore all your factories, and tariff the hell out of everyone else. Any “tourist” with a suitcase is all it takes.

Okay, I lied. It's me again! 🫠🤤🥵
Since Kindergarten Teacher!Ari Levinson got paired up with a nice Aunt to a cute niece, what kind of pairings would the following have in that same Kindergarten School? How would they meet up and how would they hook up?
1) Administration Officer!Lloyd Hansen - He's also in-charge of the Secretaries, Nurses, Receptionist, etc.
2) Maintenance Coordinator!Curtis Everett - He's in-charge of the Bus Drivers/Supervisors, Utilities, Security Guards, etc.
3) Principal!Steve Rogers - He's in-charge of Academics and Administration
4) Accountant!Bucky Barnes - crunching numbers
5) Public Relations Officer!Ransom Drysdale - includes Marketing
6) CEO/KG Consultant!Andy Barber - He's the head honcho
7) Kindergarten Teacher!Nick Fowler
I don't know if you're aware, but I've been naming you evil goblin Anon. Turns out the goblin is occasionally a softie, who doesn't only want to see me suffer 😜
In reference to kindergarten teacher Ari.
Under the cut because my reply turned out long. Also some of these are fucking hilarious 😂 really, better not be drinking when you read it, especially Lloyd and Nick 🤣
Lloyd - of course he's in charge of all the secretaries, receptionists and nurses, I bet he has a different one for every day of the week (weekends included) 😎 He likes to undo buttons on women's clothes, but loves to push buttons even more. And what a better opportunity than meeting with an OSHA inspector! In reality, Lloyd makes sure everything is perfect when it comes to regulations, nothing needs to be improved, but he just loves the faces you make when he plays a careless asshole. His smirk when you stare at him, unsure if he was joking or being serious about leaving some wires for the kids to play with. At the end of inspection Lloyd makes a comment that usually after being poked and probed at the doctor's he gets a lollipop, but what you'll give him instead after your probing 🤣 Lloyd instantly knows he hit the jackpot with you, when he said in a low tone "I've never violated OSHA regulations at work, but I can violate you a bit later, if you want me to, Sunshine" and you moaned.
Curtis - Your catering company is newly hired to prepare meals for the kids of that kindergarten. The staff can also get the meals, but you've noticed Curtis never joins others at the time of meal. You've made some inquiries, if perhaps his meal wasn't paid in advance, but it turned out it was, he just ate it much much later (apparently after everyone was gone). So one day, after helping out dishing out all the food to hungry kiddos and the staff, you take Curtis' portion and go around looking for him. You find him in the far corner of the playground, sitting in the sun and eating a small sandwich. Turns out, Curtis avoids shared meals, because he's aware the kids are a bit scared of him (he's big, dressed in dark clothes which often get dirty from all the maintenance work he does, and has some visible scars). So he eats alone and later takes his catering portion back home. Somehow, since that day, you end up sharing lunch with Curtis. And one day he asks, if you'd maybe like to also eat dinner with him. In a restaurant.
Steve - gets me, because I said so 😏 Seriously, tho. Steve ends up with a doctor/nurse. It's a completely outside of kindergarten meeting, however it's because of the kindergarten. Steve ends up in your ER after getting into a fight with one of the fathers (it was a complete mess, Andy almost went completely gray because of it). When he tells you he got into a fight you almost roll your eyes, because you're so done with aggressive men. But then he mentions he punched a kid's father after learning he was abusing his kids. And he didn't care if he was going to lose his job, he doesn't tolerate any bullies, but especially ones hurting children. It wasn't a part of medical treatment, but you were ready to suck his dick right then and there. Instead, you offered him lunch (and went down on him afterwards...)
Bucky - he's a nerdy, focused, hot as fuck cutie who ends up with a fellow cute, nerdy accountant. You managed to get into kindergarten's accountant on internship, though they usually hire only Bucky. He's half your colleague, half mentor and 100% the hero of your needy dreams. There's occasional flirting, but Bucky won't cross the line as long as you're an intern. So you spend your working hours being dutiful, but also talking over your passions or new discoveries, or funny stories. You kinda meet Bucky's sister, because she tends to call at least once a week and he just puts her on speaker - which led to you occasionally joining their conversations. Then in the evening you lie in bed and get yourself off, imagining Bucky. Then your internship ends and it's almost heartbreaking that you won't get to see him daily. Bucky asks if you'd like to do a small send-away, which ends up just the two of you in a nice restaurant and then a stroll and ice cream, and then you losing count of your orgasms.
Ransom - I never even thought kindergartens have PR officers. If it's a private one then I get it, I guess. But I don't think Steve would run a private one, so we just going to assume Ransom does marketing for them as an annoying favor (while also having his main job for a different company). Still, pro-bono or not, Ransom is adamant on maintaining his level of professionalism, which means his level of snobbish. You're a single mom who is very engaged and critical. Steve doesn't have to rein Ransom in, because you're there, marching into his office with complaints about making the new website of the affordable kindergarten look as if it was for upper class only. There are a few other occasions when you clash with him, until the annual kids' photoshoot comes. You're ready to argue with Ransom again, expecting him to organize some snobbish royal type of stiff photoshoot, but instead it's a carefree, happy chaos at a mini zoo. And Ransom is there in simple jeans and softest looking sweater, holding a fucking baby goat. You bluntly propose him sex, because you really really felt like fucking him. What starts as a few hot booty calls turns into something more serious.
Andy - poor Andy needs someone to help him survive this kindergarten from hell that he's running. The kids are great, but his staff is causing him gray hair 😂 You meet Andy when you write your dissertation and set up a meeting with him to talk about economics in educational systems. During your interview Andy notices that while you ask very smart questions, you seem bored by it all. It's quite unprofessional, but you admit to him that you chase your degree, because you always thought you want to make a big career. But the last few years, especially since you've been visiting some kindergartens when doing research, you've found yourself longing after that - having kids, caring for them and for a household. You blurt out to Andy that you get so very excited about doing decorations and baking for the holidays and if you could that would be your daily reality. It hits a certain spark in Andy's housewife kink, but he simply comments that you can always make that dream come true after getting your degree. He also asks you to give him a call when your paper is finished. And you actually do. You're so proud and happy (including being happy that it's over), then Andy invites you to dinner. Few months later you end up married and pregnant and happy to stay at home.
Nick - first of all, when I thought of Nick as a teacher the only thing that came to my mind was:
Tumblr media
🤣🤣🤣
seriously, I bet he's the one teaching kids about secondary locations
So I went with that thought. Nick is a teacher, but not of one group of kids. He's hired to do safety drills and teach how to call an ambulance, or what to do if you know something bad is happening to another kid. He's also there when groups go on trips. But he occasionally can be too cool about it, aka too brusque. Kids love it, but you - a fellow teacher - try to keep him in line. At a kindergarten's funfair, where Nick helps kiddos throw balls to dunk principal Rogers, you eat too much funnel cake (well, you tell yourself later it's because of all the sugar) and drag Nick into an empty classroom for a quickie (insert a joke about taking him to a secondary location🤣)

Since the first post about it, I am now eternally rotating Yandere Town in my mind. Lately it’s imagining how the townspeople would react if the reader was a complete recluse. There’d be clandestine watchtowers in place with a view of the readers home, and any time they left people got some equivalent of an amber alert that their darling is out and about, so be on your best behavior! Everyone working double time to make every second count should they encounter the reader, tripping over themselves to try and make enough of an impression that they just might come out more often.
The more desperate folks get dressed in blue collar outfits and pass themselves off as inspectors who “just need to take a quick look around, make sure everything’s in order.” The reader is equal parts relieved that the town takes citizen safety so seriously and confused as to why five people have showed up in the last three days, not to mention that they seem more interested in chatting than doing any work. The local government cracks down on that pretty quickly, but a few people still slip through the cracks.
Once they all get some idea of what the reader enjoys, the events going on in town get weirdly specific. Checked out a lot of horror books at the library? Big horror movie night in the gym! Spotted shopping around the farmers market? Time for the local festival with plenty of fresh pies and homemade treats! Frequently stop by a certain restaurant? What do you know, they actually throw this big feast in town every year! Crazy how it just happens to fall on the readers birthday, huh? They wouldn’t want to miss it, would they?
And since I’m a big fan of darlings who can read between the lines, the reader catching on that people are acting weird and leaving the house even less than they did when they first arrived, and turning away any unexpected visitors, even if they really are there to check on the house. Unrest sweeping through the streets because nobody’s seen them for the past month, and the leaders have to resort to drastic measures to keep the peace. The fireman chalk up the destruction of the readers entire house to be a horrible case of flawed wiring, they really should’ve let someone check that out. Nowhere to stay? Don’t be silly! Anyone in town would be happy to take them in until they have somewhere new to stay. It’s a close knit town, so expect plenty of guests! Surely the reader won’t mind, they can’t dictate such things in someone else’s home, right? :)
(Apologies for the long-ish ask, it’s just been rotting my brain and I needed to get it all out of my system. Love the stories, love you, have a wonderful day.)
YES YES YES!!! You have reached into my mind and took my exact thoughts to the point where I don't actually have much to add to this.
I definitely think being a recluse would lead to more yanderes invading your privacy, ironically enough. If they can't come in for inspections, your "neighbors" offer to renovate and maintain your home. New paint, gardening, one of them even offered to start digging a hole in your backyard to put in a pool (no ulterior motives here! they totally aren't hoping to catch you in a bathing suit on the dozens of cameras surrounding your house). While you may be missing some things and you're pretty sure you have less locks on your windows now, you can't deny how much nicer the house looks. Hopefully you don't get too attached because, like you said, something bad may happen if you spend too much time inside. They won't resort to burning it down unless they're really desperate. Most of the time, a burst sewer line or power outage is enough. Maybe the utility company will shut off your water, forcing you to stay at a friend's for a while.
Never apologize for long asks! It's a genuine delight to see how excited people get about my writing <3

I feel like James definitely wants to see his grandbabies and his daughters and will do so no matter what he has to do.
(I am assuming you are talking about William with this)
But yes, he would want to see them, and also post time skip he would fall around 39-43 because it was not uncommon in the Victorian Era to have children young, just because I do not think I put that on the timeline and I have not decided when his darling had Eloise and she is 19-20 post time skip. I just don’t think I have posted that before so just doing it now.
Madeline would be the one to easily find, attending university classes early or already graduated and teaching physics classes at an all girls school, most likely as an assistant teacher since she is only 17-18. She has no social standing like her sister and cousins have, she left that all behind, only having a teaching job and a small cottage in the countryside. It would only be a matter of time before one say she is sitting at her desk in her bedroom, grading papers in the evening, and she hears a knock on the front door and she goes to answer it and she is just standing there but stunned and scared when she sees her father. Madeline had always been the mentally weaker of the two, more prone to manipulation, and it would likely be possible for William to convince her to at least talk to him and perhaps come back home to see her mother, uncles and their darlings, her aunts, but chances are if she agrees to go she will not leave again.
Eloise on the other hand, has her walls, has power and titles, her husband is a powerful man, being a Duke and working with Andrei to stop out any underground crime activity to prevent any mass crime outbreak from happening again. But then due to Eloise’s own career as a detective she is often out and her children are left with a governess. He could easily encounter her eldest child, an adopted girl she saved during one of her cases, while she is out at the store with her governess. She will be at the flower market at Vauxhall and the wind will blow off her hat for it only to be picked up by a stranger with bling hair and the same red eyes her adoptive mother has, he will smile and hand it back to her and adjust her hair when she puts it back on. Soon enough her governess will call for her and she has to say farewell to William before running off, but say if her governess lost her while she ran off to catch her hat, well then lucky she has someone kind who is willing to help her find her way home…
When Eloise’s eldest child goes missing, she immediately begins to panic and looks for her, dropping all of her cases and spending all day and almost all night looking for her. Her husband does the same, using his higher up connections to see what strings he can pull to look for her. Eloise will return home one day, nearly passed out from exhaustion, her husband is at a meeting with an inspector at Scotland Yard who is helping look for their daughter and the staff is asleep for the night. Eloise goes to check on her twin infants, of which she had in a cryptic pregnancy which scared her half to death when she thought of all the things she did during said pregnancy that one should not do during a pregnancy, when she goes up to the nursery she notices the door is slightly ajar and when she opens it fully.
“She looks like you when you were this small.”
She nearly screams when she sees her father sitting in the armchair while cradling her sleeping baby girl while her son lay in his cradle. When she gasps at the sight of her father he merely holds his finger to his lips and reminds her to be quiet since the babies are sleeping.

I just love that we all collectively agree (especially in your AUs) that Pen is the type of person that WILL commit a felony when she's bored lmao. Its probably half the reason why Colin can't leave her for more than half an hour cause he knows when he comes back Pen is halfway finish with her illegal activities (of course the other reason is that Colin goes batshit feral when Pen's more than 5 steps away from him.) I just love morally ambiguous Pen
It's always the quiet ones.
Penelope made a lot of interesting contacts during her time as Lady Whistledown. For example, there's Dr. Cullen, Mrs. Cullen, and their lover Inspector Swan. She also knows Gen of course, several paper boys, and publishers of high and low reputation. The hack drivers and servants she has interacted with in the past have found her friendly. She finds the friends she made through Gen, such as the courtesanas, to be such lovely people.
Colin finds out quickly in their marriage that he rather be his wife's accomplice so he can do damage control than have no idea what she got up to this time. It's partly why he was so invested in getting back to her when he left with his brothers to track down Eloise. He missed his wife, but he also knew damn well Penelope was getting up to something back home.
And he was right. Penelope needed a distraction back in London, so she started to gather all the tea she could find over several days. Then she and Kate (who is always down to get any English tea out of her house) did a miniature reenactment of the Boston Tea Party. In the early morning, when no one would see them, they threw it into the Thames. They proceeded to promenade later in the day to see everyone's reaction.
When Colin heard the story after he came back, he immediately knew what wife was up to when he was gone.
He doesn't know if he's madder at the act itself or that his wife wasted food.
Penelope rolls her eyes at him and says, "I got the good tea from Kate and Ms. Kazan."
"Is Ms. Kazan the pharmacist wife?" Colin asks after thinking for a moment.
"No, Ms. Kazan runs the black market apothecaries."

@firestorm-heroes (Layla)
Pressing his lips into a thin line, Detective Inspector Gavin Troy tried to resist the urge to scowl. One would think that, after spending his entire life in England, he would be used to the rain by now, but that was hardly the case. Every time he had to go work out in it, he found himself mentally counting the minutes until he could get back inside, and dry off. Somehow, getting soaked at night just made everything seem even worse. So far, River City had not exactly impressed him either. When he volunteered for these international assignments, they were usually in larger cities, and the cases had real weight to them. He could not quite believe Agent Walkers from the American DEA, when the man insisted that a surprisingly amount of drug traffic went through this town. Sure, it was possible, and years in Midsomer had taught him first-hand that little unassuming villages usually held some of the crazies secrets imaginable… but he still could not fully accept that this city was some kind of crossroads in the international drug market. Without proof, that one was simply too far out there, even for him. So far, this stake-out had provided nothing useful. No one had gone in or out of the old warehouse, leaving himself and several other officers from various agencies all standing out in the cold. Leaning his shoulder against the crumbling brick wall he was standing behind, Troy briefly wondered if the other men were also silently counting down to when this would be called off, and they could all go get a pint. Of course, American beer was nothing like they had back home… but that was a minor point right now. Besides, he would rather just have tea or coffee—something to warm him up. In America, they always insisted on chilling their beer (likely to convince themselves it had a flavor), and a cold drink was the last thing he wanted right now. Allowing his thoughts to wander for a moment, and masked by the rain, Troy missed hearing the sound of a window opening in the warehouse even though he stood almost on top of it. He did not, however, miss a lithe shadow separate from the overall darkness and slip into that window. He had a radio with him, but he was reluctant to call in the movement until he was sure it was something more important than a homeless person sneaking in to crash, or a particularly large cat taking advantage of an unsecured opening to get out of the rain. Troy took a few steps forward, eyes fixed on the window he had seen open. This time, he also listened carefully to catch any sounds that might give an indication toward what he had seen, and what the figure’s business was in the supposedly abandoned warehouse.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

“Looks like you got yourself an admirer, Inspector,” Artherton commented, an uncharacteristically teasing smirk gracing his features.
“I beg your pardon?”
Artherton waved an intricately decorated envelope in Reid’s direction and the constables standing around all hollered and cheered like school children.
Reid snatched the envelope from Arthurton, turning away before anyone could see the heat rising in his cheeks, and stalked back to his office, slamming the door closed behind him.
He sat at his desk, turning the envelope over in his hands gently, almost reverently, taking in the intricate artwork running across the high-quality paper. As soon as he laid eyes on it, he was brought back to the little market stall he and Jackson had come across in London with the young woman shyly selling cards and other small artworks. He hadn’t commented, but Jackson must have noted the way he was enraptured by her, by her china-like art, all the same.
His hands shook as he opened the envelope and pried the small hand-penned card out. Again, that intricate artwork bordered the paper, delicate leaves and vines with the odd heart-shaped bud here and there.
Reid,
I’m not one for fancy words and declarations, as you well know, but it felt imperative to mark the occasion nonetheless.
You’ve given me more than I could have ever hoped for myself, and I will be forever grateful for that.
Come over for dinner and I’ll show you just how much.
Happy Valentines day.
Yours,
H
P.S. Turn the card over.
Reid felt his cheeks grow warmer still as he read. Then he turned the card over and he couldn’t help but gasp as his blush deepend exponentially.
Right there, for anyone who had dared to open this letter to see, was a rough sketch of Reid sprawled naked across a settee, looking wanton even in the sketches rough edges.
He shoved it back into the envelope then shoved the envelope into the depths of his pockets, willing his face to cool down. He couldn’t quite help the twitch of his lips as they threatened to break out into a smile.
He checked his watch—the very watch gifted to him by Jackson, no less—and surmised it was late enough to leave without drawing too much attention and not so early that he would be seen as over-eager by Jackson when he arrived.
On the first count, at least, he was wrong.
“Off to meet your lady friend, sir?” Drake teased as soon as he opened the door to his office, and he felt heat rise to his face once more.
“That is hardly your concern, Sergeant,” Reid bit back, unable to regret the harshness of his tone when Drake just snorted in response.
The whooping and cat calling followed him until he was on the street, the station's doors closed behind him.
When he reached Jackson’s home, he barely let the other man open the door before he was barging in, brandishing the letter in the air. “What on earth possessed you?”
“Lovely to see you, too, Reid,” Jackson said with a raised eyebrow, clearly amused.
“Do you not care who could have seen? What assumptions could have been made?”
“Relax,” Jackson said with a laugh, smoothing his hands up and down Reid’s upper arms. “No one woulda known it was from me.”
“That’s hardly the point.”
Jackson snorted, leaning back from Reid. “You tellin’ me you didn’t enjoy it?”
Reid took a deep breath, but he knew the pink on his cheeks belied his true feelings on the matter, knew that Jackson knew his irritation largely came from how aroused he’d been by receiving such a thing.
“How did you have that drawn?” He hissed.
Jackson leaned in close, pressed his lips to Reid’s cheek, then whispered against his ear, “I drew it.”
Reid swallowed thickly. “I didn’t know you could draw.”
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” Jackson said coyly, taking a step back, leaving Reid feeling cold with his absence.
“Like, for instance,” Jackson gestured to the small kitchen behind him, to the table set for two, candle in the middle. “I can cook.”
It was only then that Reid noticed the smell of fresh bread and home cooking, noticed the cosy ambiance of the entire room. He blinked, taking it all in, warmth combined with an odd sort of melancholy filling him up at the sight of it, at the realisation that Jackson didn’t just invite him here to bed him, that he actually had romantic intentions, too. At the realisation that all this feeling, all this love he didn’t quite know where to put, wasn’t at all one sided.
“Say something?” Jackson prompted quietly, eyes uncertain.
“You can cook,” Reid said slowly, turning a little to give Jackson his full attention again.
“That a problem?”
“Certainly not.” Reid smiled, reaching out to take Jackson’s hand. “Just unexpected.”
“This is okay, then? ‘Cause we can skip dinner and get straight to bed you’d prefer.”
Reid shook his head, giving Jackson’s hand a small squeeze as he tugged him closer. “This is more than okay, Homer.”

Local farm haul featuring Merlin, our quality assurance inspector! Two ears of corn, a jar of house-made blackberry jam, radishes, one plum, one heirloom tomato, one peach, one nectarine, raspberries (that literally taste like fresh air and sunshine), and strawberries. (We also got an avocado but that's not in the pic because we're in zone 6 so it was obviously not local lol). $29 for all of that and the food miles from where everything but the avocado was grown to our home was about 4. Anyway support your local farms and farmers markets

Round 2
From the outside, this chemo seems much better than the first. My husband feels awful and is taking more time off work. Nausea, diarrhea, and extreme fatigue. What makes it better is that he isn’t having the agonizing pain he experienced last time. He says he wasn’t expecting this, but I was. I think it’s hard to imagine feeling terrible when you are feeling good, just like it’s hard to imagine feeling good when you are feeling terrible.
Of course, I have no way of knowing how this feels from the inside.
Our homeowners insurance is trying to drop us and is sending an inspector over today. It’s Floria bullshit happening at peak hurricane season. They did this to our neighbor too. I am going to play the cancer card big time today because we do not need the headache , stress, or expense of this. Thank goodness we recently had a dead tree near our home removed and my husband fixed the loose boards on our deck. This came out of the blue without any notice. Say a prayer and fingers crossed.
Other than that, I am getting ready for back to school and working hard on a curriculum I’m writing: The History of Chocolate. I created it during the pandemic for my kids, but bringing it to market requires a lot more work. I’ve read almost 30 books about chocolate, which makes it hard not to crave. I think I have 4 more books left this week and then I can start compiling it together. I’m also a bit dizzy because many of the books share the same stories. It’s a fascinating topic, but it’s challenging to make sure there isn’t too much overlap between the books. I should be done in a month or two. I’m actually really excited about it and hope it becomes a good passive income stream.
So that’s it. Chemo after effects , chocolate, and a home inspection. Good Lord, won’t I be happy when my life feels like mine again!
When will that be?

Post-canon where Dean and Cas "retire" and set up a business as paranormal home inspectors and supernatural remediation specialists.
Ain't nobody gonna pass up a gorgeous well-maintained farm house with original fixtures and wainscoting from the 1860s even if it's haunted as all get out when the owner is selling it for 70% market rate. Which is where Winchester Home Inspections & Paranormal Remediation comes in!
