@honorkills. — angelica.  where does your muse draw inspiration in life? what motivates them?

     inspiration, in truth, doesn’t dictate theo’s life very much. they aren’t artistic, they don’t have very many goals, and they’re content to kind of move through life the way they have been since they first returned to human society. they’re not looking to accomplish anything, they don’t have anyone they’d like to seek revenge on, etc. most of the inspiration they do encounter has to do with simply...living the rest of their life, really. for that they can draw from the world around them: the beauty of the natural world, the idea that they could commit good, if they wanted to, the knowledge that they’ve made it his far and haven’t messed up too terribly. the only inspiration they’d need is the encouragement to keep going, rather than give up well before they’re meant to. on days where that’s difficult, they think of the people they used to have in their life, and the achievements they have managed to make, and that typically sets them back down the right path.

     theo is mostly motivated by the past, and by learned experiences. they went through quite the hardships when they were young, including violence, war, and love lost, and all of those sufferings have turned them into the person they are today. they are almost entirely motivated by not wanting to commit the same mistake twice: hence, not letting people in, not being involved in either human or lycan communities, and being kind enough to slip by but not enough to form attachments. they are more than content with their own company, and have become quite adept at motivating themselves without needing the input of authority figures or peers.

“we find the monitoring systems first,” he instructs, observing the eerie stillness that swallows the hangar. stepping forward, genji takes point. cautiously, the mercenaries fall in step behind him. “it will show us what happened here.”

genji unsheathes ryu-ichimonji, moving swiftly, deeper into the base. deep, like a beast’s belly. not yet aware that @honorkills is watching.

I firmly stand by the opinion that no, not all religions and not all cultures are worthy of respect, or worthy of keeping around. If they lay the foundations of persecuting or killing people for things they didn't even choose (being born a woman who 'dares' to think she's a human being, or queer, or albino, etc.) then it should be forgotten in the annals of time and left to rot.

"But they're entitled to their beliefs'' only works if people could choose where they're born and to whom they are born to. And, guess what: they can't!

Saying that someone is entitled to their beliefs would be great in an ideal world, but this is a world where people entitled to their beliefs kill their children for not living up to their strict religious expectations, and where theocratic governments (and even so-called secular governments) can make immutable traits a capital crime or something that designates you as less-than and unworthy of living your life unhindered and unharassed.

We live in a world where people are actively trying to bring this shit over to other countries. We live in a world where it doesn't matter where you live, really, you're still at risk of abuse or death if your parents and-or community are fanatics of some flavor or another.

Christian. Muslim. Mormon. JW. Or hell, even an atheist who believes in some pseudo-scientific biological evolutionary psychology where humans are meant to breed and if you don't have that drive or have a preference that isn't compatible with that then you're an evolutionary dead end and somehow useless in the grand scheme of things regardless of your other contributions... Among many others! There are many stripes of inhumane and abusive idiocy to choose from! (Even my ilk - Satanists - aren't immune! See: O9A, JoS... But at least I acknowledge that they exist, that they are also Satanists, and that they are a problem.)

And sure. You can't force people not to believe in something. (Well, you can if you levy a tax on non-believers (Sharia), or if you force someone to convert on pain of death (Christians in some historical cases - among many others), or...) But you can stop pointlessly defending something from well-earned criticism. You can stop saying "people who do bad in the name of muh religion aren't TRUE believers!!!"--because I'm sorry cupcake but unless your belief requires a certain ethnicity and you can prove they aren't part of that ethnic group, or an initiation into the order or whatever, then you can't just say they aren't what they say they are.

O9A and JoS neo-nazi Satanists are still Satanists and it does no one any favors to No True Scotsman their existence away. Muslims who marry off their nine year old children or honorkill their daughters for some stupid fucking "reason" (of which let's be real, there are no viable reasons) are still Muslims. Christian Evangelicals (need I espouse their crimes against humanity?) are still Christians. Mormonism and Jehova's Witnesses are both whackadoodle cults that should be seen in a similar light as Scientology. Muslim fugitive arrested, held without bail in Staten Island strangulation of 'Westernized, Americanized’ daughter

She was becoming more Westernized, more Americanized. She didn’t want to wear the hijab.

Update: In an ironic twist, the now deceased Ola Salem - whose father was arrested in her death (honor killing?) - is the woman who started the infamous Rye Playland melee in 2011 after being told she could not wear hijab on certain rides per safety rules. She died not wanting to wear the hijab.

A former Olympic boxer charged with the strangulation of his daughter — an activist for the rights of Muslim women — was arraigned on murder charges Tuesday and ordered held without bail, the Staten Island district attorney said.

Kabary Salem, 52, was extradited from Kuwait on Friday, ending a year-long manhunt that started shortly after his daughter, Ola Salem, 25, was found strangled in Bloomingdale Park, a 138-acre park on the South Shore of Staten Island, the morning of Oct. 24, 2019.

Salem fled the country, possibly spending time in Egypt, authorities said — and even tried to throw investigators off his trail by telling The New York Times his daughter had complained to him that she was being tailed by another car on the highway.

“I want to know what happened to her, what is the reason for that, but no one tells me,” he told the news outlet. “I am just waiting.

“She was a really good, beautiful girl.”

The ruse didn’t work.

Kabary Salem was indicted by a grand jury Nov. 3 and charged with murder, manslaughter, concealment of a human corpse and strangulation.

It’s unclear where the slaying took place; a source familiar with the investigation said Salem and his daughter had been in Pennsylvania, where he owns a restaurant. It’s believed after the slaying, the suspect drove to Staten Island.

There, according to the indictment and other court documents, Salem allegedly dragged his daughter’s body into Bloomingdale Park, covered here with branches and fled, returning to Pennsylvania before leaving the U.S.

“Throughout the course of this tragic case, we had never lost hope that the alleged killer would be arrested and charged,” District Attorney Michael McMahon said.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to hold this defendant accountable for the brutal act of violence he has been accused of committing against his own daughter.”                   

It’s unclear what sparked the violence. The DA’s office wouldn’t comment on a report that the father wasn’t happy with the man his daughter was dating.

A source who knew the daughter told the Daily News she was becoming more Westernized and didn’t want to wear her hijab.

“She was very outspoken,” the source said. “She wasn’t timid.”

“She was becoming Americanized,” the source said.

Salem’s lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.

The suspect was a top boxer in Egypt and competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. His daughter also boxed and had dedicated her life to championing the rights of Muslim woman.

Salem, 52, is a former professional middleweight boxer from Egypt who went by the nickname “The Egyptian Magician” and who competed in the 1990s through early 2000s, including in the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics

Notoriously, Salem killed one opponent, Randie Carver, in the ring in Kansas City in Sept. 2000 after repeatedly headbutting the doomed man, news reports from the time show.

Carver never regained consciousness after being knocked out in the 10th round, and died two days later from blunt head trauma.

SHAFIA FAMILY MURDERS

HONOUR KILLING

            The Shafia family took place in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The victims were sisters Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17 and Geeti, 13 as well as their stepmother, Rona Muhammad Omar, 52. The victims were found deceased inside a car which was discovered underwater. They were killed by their father Mohammad Shafia, brother Hamed, 20 and mother Tooba Mohammad Yahya.

            Shafia and Tooba also had three other children. Rona was the first wife of Shafia; she was infertile and had to live in a polygamous home with his wife Tooba.

            Tooba had seven children and Rona raised them and had a strong bond with them. The family left Afghanistan in 1992 and moved to Australia and later moved to United Arab Emirates. Shafia made a fortune in Dubai working in a car company and then real estate and became a multimillionaire and settled in Canada in 2007. Rona was in a loveless marriage, and was abused by her husband and wanted a divorce. Rona was treated like a servant and a slave by Shafia and Tooba, who kept her passport from her. Her family stated that Rona feared for her life. The oldest daughter, Zainab fell in love with a Pakistani boy which made her father angry, so much so, he threatened her.

            In June 2009, a worker at Kingston Mills locks found a black car in the water, divers found four victims inside. Hamed had earlier reported an accident with a different vehicle belonging to the family in an empty parking lot that morning. It was believed the car in the parking lot was the same vehicle that pushed the black car into the water. The four women were locked inside the vehicle and drowned as a result.  It was believed that they were murdered due to the four victims bringing shame onto the family through their relationships as well as wanting more freedom.  

            In July 2009, Mohammad Shafia, Tooba and Hamed were arrested on charges of murder under the guise of honour killing. They were found guilty in 2012. The surviving children of Shafia and Tooba were placed in the care of social services.
