“Hey Buck, I have to run to the store really quick. Do you need anything?”

He looks up from his spot on the couch and lays his book on his chest, his eyebrows raised.

“Now?” he asks, looking at the time. “It’s late.”

“It’s only 8:30pm,” you giggle. “It’s not late.”

“No,” he states with a shake of his head as his finger points out the window to the city lights that shine brightly against the dark sky.

“No what?” you ask, narrowing your eyes. “No…you don’t need anything?”

“No you’re not going anywhere. It’s dark out.”

“So? I need my face wash.”

“Use my soap,” he says as he picks up his book up again.

“No. I want my face wash. I’m going.”

He drops the book again and stares at you.

“No. We can get it tomorrow morning.”

“Bucky.”

“Doll.”

“I’m going.”

“Don’t be a brat.”

“Brat…I’m not…oh my god Bucky!”

“You can’t go out now! It’s too late and it’s dark. You’ll get stolen.”

“Stolen!” Your mouth falls open before you huff, “I will not be stolen.”

He keeps staring, his expression getting grumpier by the second.

“Yes. You will be,” he states, setting the book down and standing from the couch.

“I will not! And anyway I have my pepper spray.”

“What will pepper spray do?” he asks, arms crossed over his chest. “Have you ever seen the movie Taken?”

“Have you?” you ask in a mocking tone, matching his stance.

“Yeah…Stevie made me watch it.”

“Bucky. This is our neighborhood.”

“And? What does that have to do with anything doll?”

He walks closer.

“I’m coming with you. You can’t go out by yourself.”

“This isn’t 1940 Barnes. I can take care of myself.”

“Doll face,” he murmurs, gathering you in his arms. “I know that but I’d rather come with you.”

“Fine. But you have to buy me chocolate.”

“All the chocolate you want,” he says before kissing your lips.

“And don’t call me a brat.”

“But you are a brat,” he croons, trying to shush you with more kisses.

“Not for wanting to go buy my face wash,” you say in between kisses.

“You just don’t like to listen to me,” he teases, tightening his hold on you.

“I do like making you grumpy,” you wink before digging your teeth into your bottom lip. “You’re extra cute when you’re grumpy.”

He smiles wide, erasing all grumpiness from his expression.

With a giggle you pepper his scruffy cheek with kisses. “Still cute Buck.”

“Going out by yourself in the middle of the night,” he mumbles into your neck, ignoring your playful words. “Someone will just grab you up and boop,” he continues as he let’s you go and makes the motion of picking something up and dropping it into his pocket.

“That’s all it would take!” he grumbles.

“Fine,” you laugh. “You’re paying.”

He grabs his hoodie and throws it over your shoulders, waiting until you push your arms through before he zips it up.  Your mouth turns up into a grin as you watch him walk over to the couch, going on with his mutterings as he starts to slip on his loafers.

“What are those?”

He turns to you, his eyebrows drawn in. “My loafs.”

“No,” you say pointedly. “I’m going by myself.”

His mouth falls open and he glares at you disbelief.

“Respect the loafs doll! Let’s go.”

You huff and roll your eyes, making a disgruntled face at his feet before lifting your chin and stomping passed him.

He ushers you out the door and leans down to whisper in your ear. “Brat.”

Buck clears his throat and licks his lips, unable to tear his eyes away from Eddie’s darkening gaze. "Do you wanna get out of here?"

“Yes.”

They share an Uber and head back to Buck’s loft, Buck’s hands itching the whole drive to reach across the backseat and touch, but knowing once he starts he won't be able to stop.

Eddie pays before Buck even has a chance to pull out his phone, saying that Buck paid for their drinks so it’s only fair Eddie pays for the ride. And something so simple, so small, shouldn’t leave Buck a little stunned and speechless but it does. Because Buck has done this dance before (many times actually) - picking up a stranger, buying them drinks and taking them home - but none of them had ever offered to pay for anything. Not even a fake move to pull out their wallets or phones. And don’t get him wrong, Buck likes paying for his date/hookup, but to have someone else want to take care of it (take care of him) … it feels good.

“Buck?”

Eddie is looking at him, eyes shimmering from the glow of the streetlight and Buck is struck again by how beautiful he is.

“Yeah, sorry, I’m coming.”

They manage to keep their hands off of each other on the elevator ride up but as soon as the door to Buck’s loft is closed, they’re on each other - mouths meeting in a messy and desperate kiss, hands fumbling with shirt buttons as they clumsily make their way up the stairs to Buck’s bed.

Eddie pushes Buck back onto the bed and then plasters himself on top of him, grinding his hips down as he kisses along Buck’s jaw to nip at his earlobe.

“How uh - how do you wanna do this?” His breath is warm against the shell of Buck’s ear, causing goosebumps to prickle at his skin.

If Eddie had asked Buck back at the bar, he would’ve seductively purred into his ear about how much he wanted to fuck Eddie into the mattress, pulling such beautiful sounds from him. But now with Eddie’s solid weight pressing down on him, the hard line of his cock against Buck’s own, his answer has changed.

“Want you to fuck me.”

When Bobby next asks him how he’s doing Eddie can answer quickly and honestly with a genuine smile for his Captain. The new lightness on his face makes Bobby smile back broadly, his eyes lightening up with relief and happiness at Eddie’s obvious progress. 

It’s been weeks since the night he’d faced and claimed the truth inside him and while he hasn’t told anyone else about his new label he thinks he can talk with a little more honesty and a little more understanding with Bobby than the last time they spoke about his heart.

“I’m good Cap, real good, Buck gave me a book he thought might help me and I’ve been reading it, and other stuff, talking to Frank about things, you know...” 

He rolls his eyes as the next begrudging truth leaves his lips, “and it’s helped. Which is annoying, I hate it when Buck’s right about stuff.” 

He doesn’t really and Bobby knows that so he laughs at his exaggerated grumpiness. The quiet chuckle is warm, they both pause a moment as they reflect on Buck and his overwhelming desire to help the people he loves.

I am pushing through Severed Artery until I get it done! I'm really really hoping it'll be posted tomorrow, if things go right. While I fill in the last missing pieces, have Buck reminiscing™ about the shooting. Because if there's a chance to tie anything back to that moment, I'm gonna take it lol:

“Uh, could you… grab some clothes from my locker?” Buck asks as he wanders into the showers. He turns on the faucet at the sink he usually uses, not even daring to look in the mirror, afraid his bloodstained face would be staring back at him. Tommy enters only a moment later with Buck's jeans and a hoodie that Buck knows Eddie stole from him. He doesn't know how it got back in his locker, but he's not knocking it. “Do you want me to help?” Tommy asks. Buck wants to say yes, he wants the comfort Tommy usually brings, but… what he really wants- who he really wants- may not… “N- no. I got it,” Buck says with what he hopes is a reassuring smile. “Why don't you get out of those clothes and I'll throw em in the washer,” he suggests instead. Buck simply nods and quickly sheds his clothes, the tacky blood drying on his skin making the fabric stick to him a little. He hands them to Tommy without looking at them. He can't. Tommy disappears and Buck shoves his hands under the too hot water. His heart drops into his gut as the water turns a pale pink. He's suddenly staring at his bloodied hands in a hospital waiting room, horrified at the fact he didn't notice how much of Eddie's blood covered him. Each time he reached to wipe tears away, he'd flinch at the sight of his hands. Chim had showed up with a shirt for him, and Bobby had softly coaxed him into the bathroom. Chim stood silent by Buck's side as Bobby scrubbed his hands. Buck made the mistake of looking in the mirror then, at the specks of blood scattered across his face like the freckles he used to have as a kid. “He asked if I was hurt,” Buck had whispered as he stared at his reflection. He had huffed a humorless laugh and shook his head. “I don't think I would've noticed if I was.” He doesn't think he would now either. He whimpers as his hands shake. He remembers the tremors from the last time, that didn't really go away until Eddie was out of surgery. He hadn't noticed them until Taylor took his hands. Maybe he should've asked Tommy to stay with him. Maybe he could put Buck back into some semblance of order before he faced Chris. No. It didn't work with Taylor. It won't work now.

tease tidbit tuesday

(yes i have shared the beginning part of this before. what about it?) so this is public transit subway au where buck is sitting across from eddie with a piece of paper saying "please wake me up at union station" taped on his hoodie. and this is an au where eddie is confident and flirty which we love to see

"Hey." Eddie lightly taps the man's shoulder.

"Huh?"

"We're almost at Union station."

"Oh. Thank you so much." The man looks up and his eyes widen.

He looks Eddie up and down. "Holy shit. You're hot."

Eddie doesn't have much time to react before the guy adds, "God. Please ignore me. I have no filter when I wake up. Or anytime, really."

Eddie regains himself and chuckles. It's time for payback. 

"No worries. You know, you have really nice eyelashes. You're beautiful," he says softly.

The man's breath hitches and a blush fills his cheeks, matching the pretty mark above his eye.

"No one's ever called me beautiful before."

Bringing more honey, when you call my name. Pretty sure I've posted this bit before but I reworked it and like it much better now. Plus I'm trying not to spoil too much before it posts (hopefully) Saturday. Enjoy 🥰

Eddie jolts awake at the jingle of keys in the front door. His heart, slamming into his ribcage, slows as he begins to recognize a familiar pattern, one he’s heard countless times before in different variations. First a loud whisper – “Shit!” – when the door doesn’t close as softly as intended. Next a muted thump as shoes are toed off and set next to his and Christopher's. More faint thumps stumbling to the bathroom, followed by the inevitable flush and water running, then footsteps retreating to the living room. There’s some indistinguishable humming while a blanket and pillow are arranged. Next is Eddie’s favorite part. A content sigh as six-foot-two-inches of Evan Buckley settles on the couch, wiggling and smacking his lips as he pulls the covers up to his chin. Lastly are the reverberating snores Chris will tease and mock Buck about in the morning.

here's a lil something from the marriage of convenience fic <333 since it's@monsterrae1's bday and this fic is for her, i thought it would be fitting to share a snippet from it. 🥰

"What about Chris?" Buck rasps out, even if he knows he'll end up saying yes anyway. "What does he think about all of this? Is he even—?"

"He's on board." Eddie cuts him off, his cheeks tinting a darker shade of pink. "He might have been a bit confused at first and he wasn't excited out of his mind exactly… but he's on board. He said he always wanted to be a big brother and if that means you'll be living with us full time then he doesn't see the downside." Eddie smiles, soft and gentle.

"He won't help change diapers, though, and I have to buy him some new headphones so he won't listen to the baby cry all the time." He adds, amused.

Buck can't help but to huff out a weak chuckle at that.

"You've really put a lot of thought into this, huh?"

"I have." Eddie raises his chin almost defiantly. "How would this even work? If we get married? What will happen if you wanna date or if you wanna bring someone home, or if—?"

"I haven't dated anyone in almost a year, Buck. And honestly? I don't have any interest in doing so." Eddie clears his throat and looks down, a small crease forming between his brows as he crosses his arms against his chest defensively. "I'm done trying to force these relationships with women I don't really care for. It's not fair to them and I'm really tired, so… Yeah. You don't have to worry about me."

"You say that now…" "And I mean it." Eddie's gaze locks with his and there's a fire in his eyes, his jaw stubbornly set. "I'm done dating. I wanna marry you, I—" He clears his throat and hesitates a bit at this but then continues like that flicker of doubt never happened. "It's purely platonic. I just wanna help you get Luna, be able to take care of her like I know you want to. I can do this, Buck. Let me do this for you."

"Okay." Buck whispers finally, after a few seconds of silence. His heart is beating hard in his chest and he staggers forward, stepping closer to Eddie as he feels his legs wobble and his knees go weak with how much he wants this, how much he aches for Eddie right in this moment. "Okay." He repeats, a little bit louder, but his voice shakes and trembles embarrassingly so.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." Buck lets out an almost hysterical laugh, full of disbelief and awe. "Yeah, I'll marry you."

So I’m not sure what tf in doing with this one but ems is forcing me to write it so here it is 😂 it an actors au staring with fwb 🥰 i'm probably going to end up making an actual outline soon cause i truly have no idea where I'm going with this one, other than the vage original idea.

Snippet:

When Buck went to drama school - before he got kicked out - one of the first things his favorite teacher warned him about was to not screw around with his co-stars, he had said that it always got messy, and most of the times the fall out wasn’t worth it.

Buck had told him that it wouldn’t be him, that he would never risk his career like that. If only he could see him now, he would be so disappointed.

Eddie Diaz was a walking wet dream; from the very first moment that he walked into set, Buck wanted him; he nearly dropped to his knees right there in the middle of the makeup trailer when the other man smiled at him. He wasn’t really surprised when at the end of the day, Eddie had followed him to his trailer and took him apart right there and then. Eddie had taken him in his mouth and sucked him for all that he was worth, and then the asshole had smiled and walked away before Buck could return the favor.
