I saw the ask you answered from another anon about cloneshipping, and I balled my eyes out. I'm a closet cloneshipper too. I came into the fandom about a year ago and ended up with the antis before I even knew what that meant.
I've started to secretly follow cloneship blogs, but I'm a decently popular fanfic writer in the anti group, and I really don't want to lose my readers by coming out 😭
I've never written a cloneship fic, and I mostly write x reader, which I know is a whole different topic for another day, but I love the content you all put out!
I put a short, non-aggresive blurb on my blog that I don't cloneship to appease the masses, and several cloneship blogs blocked me. It's sad, but I don't blame them. I've seen the hate spewed out by antis, and it's just disgusting.
Well, thanks for that list of friendly cloneship blogs, and thanks for being so nice to us in the shadows ❤️
👤 Incognito Anon
i'm really glad that post was able to help you in some way, friend. i'm gonna be honest, i had no idea it was so common for people to feel trapped in anti circles, and it makes me so sad. we should all be having fun - that's what it boils down to.
being a writer myself, i understand the fear of losing your reader base. i only have one non-shipping work, but i have at times wished it could be separated from my cloneship writing because i'm really proud of it and i know that shrinks the amount of people who will interact with it. however, i'm proud of ALL of my work. all of it brings me joy - and not just that, but it brings other people joy. it's meaningful to them.
all that to say.. i think sharing my work with a small group of people who cherish it feels better than having a larger audience. but i know that's just me personally.
if i may, i'd like to encourage you to make a side blog where you can interact with fandom in a way that brings you joy, and an alternate ao3 if you ever want to dabble in cloneshipping fic. maybe you’ll always stay in both places separately, maybe you’ll find that one feels better than the other and make the leap eventually. regardless, the option is there, and we'd love to have you.

In my kingdom some healthy deancrit is allowed and welcome its like when a girl is at brunch with her friends and the waiter comes up and asks what drinks the table will be having and they all agree on water until one brave soul asks “should we be bad?” They all chatter amongst themselves debating on whether they should until the waiter cheekily adds that they should “treat themselves” triggering them to start hyping eachother up before they end up ordering bottomless mimosas at noon. On my blog that is deancrit.

Contrary to popular belief Vance is actually really quiet. He doesn’t say much and If you avoid his corner at the grab n go then you’ll notice it’s pure dead silence. Bruce, however, does not stop talking. ever. Over achiever Bruce always talking about his grades and his exams and baseball and tournaments and songs he’s been listening to recently and ‘hey Vance what’s that book you were reading can I borrow it wow this book is so good I’m going to write a monologue.’ And Vance just nods and hums he listens intently and files everything he says away in a little Bruce corner of his brain and just never forgets. Bruce will mention a movie he liked and forget about it within the next week and Vance will come back and bring him the book it was based off of since he liked it so much even if he forget that he did.

wait what did u mean by "it doesn't make sense that the school treated the flock like shit", can u explain? sorry i'm kinda dumb & also i haven't read the series in like 10 years lol
lol no worries! i mean, in a genre sense i guess it makes sense, bc the school is supposed to be "evil," so of course they'd treat the flock badly. but from a logical/realistic point of view … genetic engineering is expensive, and the flock are very rare and unique. it doesn't make sense to abuse them or neglect their physical needs because they could die or develop serious problems, and then the school would be down a bird kid and would have wasted millions of dollars on creating and caring for them in the meantime. plus, for scientific accuracy, most lab animals (in real life) have strictly regimented diets, exercise, daily schedules, etc. to control for various factors in experiments, so that scientists don't have problems like "is this guinea pig naturally small or did its growth get stunted because we don't feed it regularly?"
and all of that isn't even going into the types of ethical oversight in labs when it comes to using lab animals so like… yeah the school basically abused the flock bc That's What Villains Do, not because it made sense in any scientific way.

Kara would have given up being the hope for thousands of people just for Lena to have hope.
Lena would have given up the life’s of thousands of people just for Kara to stay alive and come back.
They both were ready to ignore all of their morals just to protect each other. That’s how much they love each other.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm sorry for how offended I sounded in this post. I was offended, and honestly, I still am. I don't understand how any logical person can genuinely consider pedophilia to be such a non-issue as in the reblog you shared, and it terrifies me. The fact people can not only say things like that, but it's a widely shared opinion in this community is specifically why I don't feel safe in proship circles anymore. I've tried to put my thoughts together in a (hopefully) clearer manner.
I think there are some subjects that inherently don't deserve to be treated with polite discussion the same way most do.
You don't debate with people about transphobia or racism because making it a debate implies it's even something that needs to be considered from "the other side" at all, and I think pedophilia needs to be treated the same way. What pedophiles think shouldn't matter in the same way that what homophobes think doesn't matter. I hope we can agree that the fact we've gotten to a point where what rights gay people deserve is considered a political topic is horrible, and I believe we've gotten to that point in part because engaging with the subject at all lends credibility to it. It's a relevant/correct enough opinion that it has to be argued about, and that puts their foot in the door.
Whether or not pedophilia is objectively bad shouldn't even be a discussion, let alone one so widespread and pressing in this community that almost everyone has a statement about it somewhere on their blog. Echo chambers aren't beneficial to anyone when there's a conversation to be had and outside perspectives to consider about a given topic. But you can't seriously engage with people who try to defend pedophilia (offending or not) in the same way that you wouldn't consider the viewpoints of people talking about how they think being gay is immoral. We cannot lend credence to what these people think, and treating the discussion like a debate to be had at all gives them all the validity they need.
These are dangerous things to be posting. I know you probably get the words "normalization" and "politicization" thrown at you a lot, but that's what you're doing by posting/reblogging things like that. Trying to make pedophilia seem like something that shouldn't define a person and isn't innately bad or immoral is normalizing pedophilia, and considering their points at all is politicizing pedophilia. Of course, you as one blog runner aren't going to suddenly make everyone believe that pedophilia isn't that bad, but I don't think it's a coincidence it's such a common sentiment in this community. Nowhere else even engages with the idea, so it doesn't surprise me that neutral/positive feelings toward actual, real pedophiles is all too common here.
There are some things that don't need to be given the dignity of being an argument to be considered, and I believe pedophilia is one of them. You don't genuinely listen to or consider whether Jewish space lasers caused the California wildfires because that's objectively an insane thing to say out loud. Nobody hears that and thinks, "Well, I should at least hear what they have to say to back it up, maybe they can say something insightful." I think we should treat people trying to defend pedophilia with the same attitude.
I've noticed how normal it's treated as in this community, and I mentioned the slip backwards in my original ask. The general consensus on "para discourse" keeps going farther little by little and it scares the living shit out of me. First, I was told that proshippers don't support attraction to real children. Then, I saw that far too large a chunk of the proship community are actually attracted to real children and self-identify as MAPs. Then, I was told they were deeply ashamed and used their blogs to vent about their sicknesses and would never seek out contact with children. And now, I'm being told it actually is okay for pedophiles to be in contact with kids and that they shouldn't feel ashamed of it. We keep walking backwards as a community, and I don't feel safe or comfortable with it anymore.
If you (proshippers in general) don't want people to assume you're a pedophile when there's a community-wide pattern of pedophilia apology and normalization, you have to be loud about disavowing them and excommunicating them from your community. You can't be in a community that's 1/5 pedophiles, defend them with your platform, and welcome them into your spaces with open arms, and then be shocked when people assume you're a pedophile too. Especially when that pattern drives out people who are also staunchly anti-pedophile. It's a serious problem I don't see many people try to do anything about. There are awful people everywhere, but I've never seen a group where they're so loud and visible with it. The fact they feel comfortable doing so here is another testament to how normalized it is in this community, and you as a community really shouldn't let it get any worse. You shouldn't tolerate sharing a space with pedophiles.

A big thing you still have to keep in mind is that paraphilias are not controllable. You don't wake up one day and decide you want to have a piss kink or a sadist kink or anything of the sort. It just kind of happens. And the big three paras are the same way. It's not quite something you choose.
But what you can control is the damage that occurs because you have that paraphilia. Just because you're into piss doesn't mean you are going to piss on your non-consenting partner. Just because you're into sadism doesn't mean you are going to hurt your non-consenting partner. Just because you have a big three para doesn't mean you're going to actually engage with the subject of those paras.
And that's what should be endorsed. Because, frankly, not endorsing anti-contact kink/para acceptance goes against something else I'm also very much so about - harm reduction. Acceptance leads to finding healthy outlets. A lack of acceptance often leads to unhealthy outlets and harm.
And I don't want to ever find myself on the side that leads to the most harm. And frankly, neither should anybody else.
It's like dog cropping. Keep it legal or you'll end up with backyard hack jobs.

Epic: the Musical Animatic Idea:
GUYS!!! GUYS I JUST HAD A VISION!!! A BRILLIANT VISION FOR “There Are Other Ways” AND BECAUSE I CANNOT DEAW I WILL SHARE :)))))))))
ok ok so
you know how the songs begins with Circe trying to play into Ody’s sexual attraction because it is another “way of persuasion” and all that, right? good.
so my thought is that because the melody and rhythm of the song there resembles a ballroom kind of dance (i wanna say tango but idk ballroom dance that well to be super sure), then it should be Circe leading Ody into a ballroom dance with her (showing that even tho “there’s no puppet here” she still has an advantage over him, as well as showing her trying to slight of hand his sword)
and when he refuses (i see Circe pulling him into a dip but he shoves her away), the music plays Penelope’s melody; THEREFORE IT ONLY MAKES SENSE FOR PENELOPE TO APPEAR ON STAGE
and when Ody says her name (“my Penelope🎶”), she should be the one leading him in another ballroom dance
AND WHEN ODY SAYS THAT “it’s been 12 long years” PENELOPE SHOULD PULL AWAY EITHER BACKSTAGE OR IN THE BACKGROUND AS HE SINGS ABOUT HOW MUCH HE MISSES HER
And then!
after Ody replies “wait, you’re helping us?” Circe’s nymphs should appear (they should be a dance troupe i think bc tbh there are not a lot of dance number songs in Epic) and either dance in pairs while Circe sings or some other number which Circe then joins at the end or something
but yeah
there ya go *jazz hands*

Hii!!! I had some questions about normal packs!
in chap 17, Dr. Keller mentioned how it was her parents, her and her brother, but they were also part of a larger pack? I was wondering how civilian packs live? Like if the pack consists of more than just a pairing and their children, would they all live in a home together (sorta similar to how 141 all live in a barracks together)? Sorta like how reader’s family pack all lived in a traditional home setting (i assume)?
tysm!!!
Hi love!!! Thanks for the question!!
It kind of depends on the pack and their structure and the means with which they have to live off of, and also their size. Smaller packs (like the 141) may live just in one house under one roof and have their personal spaces along with shared spaces. That can get cramped quickly, though, as packs get bigger. Larger packs, think like three or more alphas with subsequent betas and omegas as well, might opt for more like commune-style living with each alpha and those claimed specifically by them living in their own private residence, with other shared spaces. They'd of course spend a lot of time together still, but too many alphas under one roof can cause issues, as well as it just gets uncomfortable if you've got a lot of people squeezed into one small space.
So yeah, it kind of depends on a lot of factors, but typically larger packs will opt for having their own private spaces while living still within close proximity of each other.

How do theories of justice fail when you apply. Them to disability justice?
well!! it depends which theory you look at. I’ve been fixated on Rawls’ theory of justice lately, so I’m going to focus on him, but honestly a lot of these problems are true of more than just Rawls
firstly: a primer on Rawls. Rawls constructed something called “the veil of ignorance” in order to figure out what kinds of justice people would agree to IF they knew nothing about themselves or the society they would live in. the argument is that you can’t decide what is just and fair if you come in with a vested interest. anyway, through this process he arrives at two principles (well. kind of three. anyway)
every person should have basic liberties
(2a) equal opportunity: every office should be open to any person, given they have the skills required to fill that role
(2b) difference principle: any inequality in society should be to the benefit of the worst off
I have. problems! first: Rawls does not assume healthcare to be a primary good. this means that there is no basic liberty associated with healthcare. this is a massive oversight, for, I think, obvious reasons
second: Rawls is pretty open about the fact that these principles are only open to those who are participating in a paid labour market. remember the difference principle? yeah, well. if you don’t have a job, you’re discounted from “the worst off”, because you don’t count as “a participant in society”. this means that the unemployed are pretty much able to be treated however the fuck society wants to treat them
third: it’s unclear how the equality of opportunity of principle should apply to someone with fluctuating needs and abilities. if someone is the best architect in the world one day a week, and then needs to rest for the other six… should they still be treated as if they are the best person for the job? Rawls has no answer for this. it is also not clear where the burden of responsibility falls in respect to making workplaces accessible enough that people are actually able to reach their full capabilities
fourth: Rawls explicitly says that nobody behind the veil of ignorance is disabled. the veil of ignorance only chooses “the representative man” (a head of household who is able to represent the needs of the average person in a society). if you know nothing about yourself EXCEPT that you’re abled….. how on earth is disability justice going to happen?
now, because Rawls is really popular to critique, people have a variety of answers to these questions. but none of them seem super satisfying to me. adapting Rawls’ principles to fit the needs of the disabled seems disingenuous when Rawls deliberately excluded disabled people from the get-go. that being said, there are huge possibilities here for having a crack at social contract theory as a whole, so to Rawls I am genuinely thankful

What are ur thoughts on calling your significant other papi? I see why people like doing it, but it’s always been uncomfy for me to call them that because Spanish was my first language and Pa is something I used to call my actual dad. Like I don’t feel weird with the word daddy because I never called anyone that as a child so like idrc when it comes to the English one. I also feel weird because i used to have an ex who really liked it when latinas would call him that, and even though I don’t like being fetishized, it’s like im disappointing them if I don’t say it. But what’s ur opinion? Do u have any like childhood ties with that term that makes it uncomfy to use like that?
ur so valid. personally, i'm not mad at the use of 'papi' bc i grew up fatherless so i don't really have any connection to the word, similarly to the word 'daddy'. i've only called one of my exes papi (he was latino) and it was in bed and he asked me to. i didn't feel weird about it but it just doesn't do much for me. i categorize daddy as the more sexual term mostly because of the online discourse i grew up observing about the word in kink community. the difference between daddy and papi for me is that papi has more warmth? like i get that its used in all contexts but i mostly grew up hearing my friends call their dads papi. i have heard my best friend call her dad papi and later the same day she called her bf papi and i was just like ??? for a second before remembering how fluid the spanish language can be and what her relationship w her dad is like. so i guess a large part of it depends on what your relationship is like. i understand how papi can be an endearing nickname. when you're in a relationship and someone takes care of u, it's an appropriate title. with the right person/right writing it can be good, but when it's forced it's corny. i'm not against it, but sometimes it just doesn't work. one more thing: you are more than your native language and the way others have sexualized your cultural identity. i could go on and on about this, but what do u guys think?

Wanted to ask you about colour palettes but got cold feet so I'm deleting my blog instead
Noooo don’t delete your blog, where would I get cursed drawings of Danny?
Hmm, colour palettes. I think I do vaguely follow the major colour schemes. A good chunk of my work have analogous colours. I don’t follow the schemes intentionally; it’s more like I move toward them because they naturally look good. It’s a matter of throwing stuff on and seeing if they work.
Even then, shove the colours around. You could start off with a complementary colour scheme and desaturate one colour while keeping the other strong, for example. So: classic colour schemes, but only as a loose guide. Mess with the hue/saturation/value to create different balances.
I feel like there’s a lot more I could drone on about but I’d likely stop making sense without visuals. Marco Bucci has some great Youtube videos that worked well for me.
Lastly, use references. Colour references do not need to be related to your subject matter. I’ve used pictures of dogs or underwater volcanoes to colour portraits of people. If the colours go together elsewhere, they’ll go together on your art.
