This is a very very unfinished thought but I've been thinking a lot as I reread the books about how the women of House of the Dragon don't really get catharsis and how that'll likely be worse in S2. Say what you want about asoiaf but a number of named women there experience catharsis.

They kill their abusers (Lysa, Cersei, Dany). They regain some agency after a violation (Lysa, Cersei, Lady Stoneheart, Dany), and they refuse to forgive the people complicit in their subjugation (Lysa, Cersei, Dany, Lady Stoneheart, Jeyne Westerling).

Obviously, three or four isn't enough in such an expansive cast of characters but the point remains that they claw back their autonomy however they have to. They're allowed to be angry, bitter, unforgiving and cruel to their abusers in a way women in House of the Dragon just aren't allowed. They're allowed grief, grief that is violent and destructive.

The women of House of the Dragon don't get angry. They stand around and stare plaintively at the camera, they cry prettily, and they plead for peace and non-violence. They suffer and suffer and suffer and there's no relief.

#although dany doesn't really set out to kill her abuser #in fact she doesn't really think of him as her abuser #but the fact remains that her story begins with his death #she gains her dragons and agency through his death #lysa murdering jon arryn #lysa not going to riverrun when hoster is on his deathbed despite cat's letters #she denies him relief for his crimes against her and it's one of my favourite moments in asoiaf #cersei killing robert #cersei eating robert's children taking back reproductive autonomy from the man that hurt her #lady stoneheart turning her grief and pain onto the riverlands #she hangs freys boltons and lannisters uncaringly #it's a failing of the storytelling because this is supposed to be the feminist retelling of the dance #but instead the misogyny that leads up to the dance has been defanged.#the point of the show has been obscured behind endless arguments of the supposed illegitimacy of rhaenyra's first three children #the women fighting for power have been replaced by evil men perched on their shoulders telling them to do bad things #they're helpless victims carried along by the stream of inevitability #or something idk #also i am not including alicent trying to take luke's eye and injuring rhaenyra as cathartic because they are not the cause of her sufferin #house of the dragon #not asoiaf thoughts #daenerys targaryen #lysa arryn #cersei lannister #lady stoneheart #alicent hightower #rhaenyra targaryen #helaena targaryen #rhaenys targaryen

I love the Green Dragon keg that only teleports you to the Green Dragon.

#lotro #like. i dont know what i expected.#anyway i think that this will be very useful for farmers faire #also might be useful for shortening inn league initiation runs #im thinking... teleport from the golden perch to your house and hit up this keg to take you to the green dragon #then leave the green dragon and go to the floating log instead #obviously #but i bet it will save you a lot of time on what is tbh the longest leg of the trip #well the longest leg if you have swift travel between brockenborings and stock #if you dont then thats the longest leg #but at least you can always slow horse it and it takes you right where you need to go #as opposed to slow horsing it from stock to hobbiton and then getting off at frogmorton which is currently the way i do it #anyway when midsummer fest starts ill time it and see #it also depends on if you can put the keg outside i think #if you have to wait for multiple loading screens to get to it then it might not be so good #just tested it and it can be placed in yard hooks #also if anyones wondering why i have an optimized route for the inn league initiation quest #its because the inn league initiation quest is THE way to get lixp during festivals #because the inn league initiation quest is 7 quests in a trenchcoat #and you get lixp for all of them #same for the ale association run in bree but like bree is laggy during festivals #i dont want to be doing timed shit there

I’m defs a dog person and i spend a lot of my time ensuring my dogs have full and enriched lives, and then I just vibe with my cats as if they are lil housemates. But lately I’ve been dedicating a lot of time to webinars and reading material on how to be a good cat mum and my cats are really benefiting from what I’m learning!!! I bought this tall cat tree that reaches the roof and Figgy feels safe enough to come and hang out with everybody in the living area because she can now be up high. Isn’t she cute!!

#Figaro #the cat edition #phone pics #they have a big cat tree in their own bedroom #and their room is inaccessible to the dogs #so that they’ve always got a safe space #but now I’ve put a cat tree in EVERY room #so they’ve always got somewhere to perch #and they have the opportunity to sit up high if they want to hang out in communal spaces #one lil cat tower faced out the window down to the chicken coop #so they can sit on it and watch the chickens go about their day #it’s so cute #also I’ve recently learnt that even though cats can be buddies #they usually don’t like sharing the same food and water dish #or even eating and drinking in eyesight of each other #so I’ve added extra food and water dishes to other rooms of the house #I hope they feel better about dinner time now! sorry kids I didn’t know you don’t like to share!

I’ve been wanting to reopen commissions soon but I rly need to make new examples, maybe try to figure out what ppl are most interested in (I think my most commissioned items are always icons, so? Those will be included) and what I can do…I also want to refigure my prices. Like I do want them to be affordable, and I do love drawing for ppl, but I also want to make sure I have the bandwidth + time for them and also feel like I’m being compensated properly since I do have a job now so they would be the Side Thing aaa TwT

but I’m finally at a place where I feel like. Not burnt out after every week and I’m in a nice routine now and pretty used to my job, so I feel like I can handle more on the side. Very excited abt that. Not excited abt making new examples or figuring out what I wanna offer etc tho I hate the logistics of commissions. Part of me wants to do a pay what u want thing with a set minimum and maybe start exclusively offering them thru kofi since it’s so easy, but we’ll see!!

I look to maybe open them around June so like. If anyone is interested, I’d love to hear what kind of stuff u guys would want? 🤨

OH MY GOD also guys. please literally go to any amateur theater or whatever that u can near u. i went to a live performance of the it's always sunny ep where theyre doing the nightman. or whatever. it was soooooooo silly and so fun and in that room i could feel centuries of people gathering in rooms to laugh together. this is what can save humanity
