I'm coming back to this platform bc I accepted twitter's fate.

If we've never met, or if it's been a while, hello, my name is Brianna Carmel, I am a DIY singer-songwriter with a folkpunk soul, who also sings in a sadcore indie pop band called Blooming Heads (photo from our most recent show seen above). Based in Sacramento, CA. Our biggest accomplishment so far was probably opening for Crywank when they stopped at the Starlet Room, during their first ever US tour back in August.

I happened to have just put out a solo EP of three ukulele tracks, thanks to my bandmate from Blooming Heads, Josiah Masteller, who did the recording, mixing, and mastering for all three tracks. I'd also like to shout-out my friends @xahferd and @lokeigh for helping me with the gang vocals on the second track. This might be the solo release I am the most proud of.

It's currently bandcamp-exclusive, but I'm going to get it up on spotify, youtube music, etc., in the near future. In the meantime, you can stream it there, and if you really like it, you can buy it digitally for $3 (or more, if you're feeling especially generous).

Also, I book DIY shows in the Sacramento-area! I have for years under the moniker 916 Growth Gigs, I work with bands and artists from a lot of different genres, and I have connects at a couple all ages DIY venues, a 21+ venue, and when the stars align just right, I occasionally throw a house show. I like to throw acoustic shows at local parks as well, as seen above, but it's November, so I probably can't do that again for a while, lol. helloooo doing an introduction post to hopefully gain some traction and find fellow photographers on here :)

my name is chelsea, i’m 20, and i’m an amateur photographer! i use a canon eos rebel t6 (i consider it my baby) and use adobe lightroom to edit. i primarily show interest in nature photography but i also LOVE to photograph house shows and take photos of small/local bands. i am primarily based in my home state of new jersey, travelling far and wide, primarily going as south as glassboro to as north as montclair!

as of right now this is just a hobby. i am not making any money off of what i do in any way, shape, or form. i want to gain more experience in what i do before i start charging people for it :)

Oh good fucking lord so many

Not so much anymore bc I’m an interloper rn and just havnt like been introduced into the music scene much here yet

However I did go searching for local musicians and I did find a few cool people like

Alghol, Beckoning Oblivion, Blood Born, also Slim Duffy and the naughty ones is really fun.

I haven’t had like a FAV house show yet I don’t think, I mainly just go to shows to listen to music and be socially awkward unless I know someone there, many of the ones I’ve been to in the past was people who I went to school with had a band and then I’d go. But there was one that they played in a once pizza hut soon to be law firm it was fun mainly bc there was a family of stray cats by the dumpster

WHAT are we looking for? Photos, artwork, and writing about taking selfies in the bathroom mirror at concert venues. This includes house shows, dive bars, night clubs, rec centers, big fancée event spaces, stadiums, etc. For the purposes of this zine, a “concert bathroom mirror selfie” means that you took a picture of your reflection in the bathroom mirror of a venue while at a concert. Photos that someone else took of you, or that you took of yourself with the camera facing you (rather than a mirror reflection), do not count. However, we may be open to considering such outliers on a case-by-case basis if you feel very strongly about it and can provide a good justification for its fitting within the theme/concept.

WHEN is it due? Tentative deadline is September 30, 2022, for expected publication in mid/late-October.

I love house md. it’s gay, its homophobic. it’s ableist, it has some of the best disability representation I’ve seen. medical malpractice and felonies are committed pretty much every episode, some of these aren’t even related to the case. for as bonkers as everything gets it never stops being a medical drama. it a fucking sherlock adaptation

I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them
