Some texta colorings I did of Akari from the Pokémon manga, How I Became a Pokémon Card. He's a trans boy who wants to be a cool Pokémon Trainer to compete with his Rival, Akira, but his mother isn't very supportive. I made his hair and eyes green because I love green.

With little regards to either proper wound care or medical hygiene, Kolisnyk uses the bent and twisted fingers of his injured hand to drive into the soft earth, regaining purchase with the claw-like movement, before pressing the laceration in his palm down into the blackened topsoil. It’s with an irritable hiss that he then pushes down, using the combined momentum of his motions and Calleum’s swift tug to haul himself upwards. A momentary stagger overcomes him as he rediscovers the world on both feet, and Calleum’s hands hasten to balance him by his lower back and bicep, while Kolisnyk tilts and throws the other hand back out for some semblance of balance. He looks rather wretched, Calleum notes, while Kolisnyk continues to be quick as ever, readjusting and canting to the side, stabilizing as he shifts his weight onto the notably less muddied part of his body and the leg that doesn’t look half-beaten in its war against nature, and Calleum soon finds that he isn’t quite mature enough to reign in the soft breath of laughter that wells in his chest and releases with his observations.

From Pulse. This puppy took a little bit, with the brain constantly shifting words around and leaving me very, very confused every time I read it over. Hoping it ended up coherent. Kolisnyk is Riley, and this is the aftermath of what happens when he isn’t paying much attention, falling down an embankment, and he just so happens to do so while Calleum is absently wandering about the forest that surrounds their school somewhere during the low light of dusk, too. Riley then reveals himself to be much like any doctor, with an apprenticeship steadily underway in healing, but still making the rather poor choice of disregarding his own basic health - like slapping down a newly attained laceration in his hand into dirt.

Anyway... how are we liking the new tense? It gives me Hell~ But it’s functioning far better in terms of comprehension for me than past tense used to, and it’s all starting to flow quite nicely during the writing process, too.

i like to imagine akari got to wear the uniform he wanted after the end of the manga. (who is this? pokemon history under the cut!)

for those of you who don't know, this is akari from the manga 'how i became a pokemon card (1999)'! (bulbapedia link)

he is a trans boy, and to my knowledge is the only canon trans boy in all of the pokemon franchise among the small handful of canon trans characters.

this manga never got an official localization, so how some chose to translate the matter of akari using different pronouns differs from translation to translation. the sentiment stays the same though - akari is a boy, though he was born a girl.

this and the tension it causes with his mother is the main focus of this chapter of the manga. i would even say the subject of dysphoria is communicated pretty decently for how old the manga is, though usually through the metaphor of pokemon!

though the ending for the chapter is kind of ambiguous, so i wouldn't call it a perfect representation, its still pretty cool to see a canon trans character in a manga thats almost as old as i am. thank you if you read this far, and please give this manga a read!

So you know how in folklore, revealing your full name to Faeries was considered incredibly dangerous? As in, they could have power and control over you- to enchant or even change who you are all because of a name.

This lore doesn’t seem present in TWST, but I’m also sobbing at Silver, who if he even had an “original” name from the Knight of Dawn and Princess Leia, that name is likely lost to time. And even more, Silver clearly has no last name given in the main game

So in folklore, there were Fae tricking humans so they could “steal” their name and take power over them. But in Twisted Wonderland, would it be the Fae voluntarily gifting their own names to Silver? Like “Silver Vanrouge” where the relationship of father and son between Lilia and Silver is finally recognized by both of them. Or even the possibility of ‘Draconia’ being an additional last name since Malleus also became a son to Lilia. As an acknowledgment for their love as a family.

I would unironically love if Silver had an incredibly “clunky” name made up from the various Fae that we know. Like this family, this connection, isn’t perfect but the love is there. And it’s all represented in his name that’s stitched together by Fae from all walks of life, whose paths managed to cross just in time to meet this human boy

There is a manga called "How I Became a Pokemon Card" made by Kagemaru Himeno in 1999. Who is unsurprisingly also a tcg artist. It had 6 volumes with 38 chapters total, and were mostly stand-alone stories about how the Pokemon became Pokemon cards.

It also features a canon trans character.

The final chapter, chapter 38, is called "Akira and Pikachu's birthday." Akira made a promise with his best friend, Akari (confusing I know), to be the coolest trainers ever. His friend got a Scyther for finishing middle school which caused Akira to beg his mom for one too. He gets a pokemon, but it's a Pikachu which he doesn't find cool. During an argument about it with his mom, a group of Ariados attack and Pikachu defends them. Causing Akira to see Pikachu is cool.

Akira is a trans boy. His mother agrees to giving him a pokemon because it might help him become more feminine. He openly identifies as a boy but has to wear a girl's school skirt. He uses "ore" as a pronoun for himself, one that's typically used by men. While his mother insists on using "watashi", one typically used by women.

this could be a different person but we cpn that it’s xz who booked since it’s in CQ. also whoever this was booked premium tickets and not discounted.

no one “released” a rumor or anything, some fans just noticed this while booking their tickets and found it interesting.

• 8/13, WYB allegedly drove and went to XZ’s LOCH shoot. You may see some photos and videos that is allegedly the proof but you can’t even see the driver’s face. There’s also some talk that “WYB” was wearing a motorcycle helmet so there will be no chance people seeing him. I don’t know what to think. I understand how exciting it is, how hilarious that people even speculate about this and the fact that cpns like this is dangerous. i would hate for melon/yxh accounts to pick this up and get them in trouble. We already heavily speculate that they visit each other on set because or some clues we see — no need to dig and investigate too much. 🙏🏼

• In the morning of 8/17, Paparazzi were saying XZ and his co-star from the past are not real and have no chance. This went on #1 HS. As expected, XZS pulled some mild sweets. 18:33! YIBO ZHAN ZHAN!

YBO updated minutes later. But my favorite would have to be their second update with 22:30 AI AI ZHAN!

• WYB became the first spokesperson for Pokemon Trading Cards, this is wonderful cause we know how they are big fans of it. I’m happy seeing them basically be the face of brands that they have always loved ( like chanel and gucci for example )

There is also some conversations that said XZ was not seen going to work that day. He & WYB could be working on Ad materials and other things, but that means they can go back home earlier. They don’t need a full day to spend Qixi together, tho that would be nice too. They just need time to be together on this romantic day. Maybe we will get more details in the months to come but we wish them all the happiness! 💕

• A new BTS on XZ sort of complaining about WYB/LWJ not looking at XZ/WWX with “yearning” as he walks away. This is so hilarious to me cause it’s so on point on what we have seen from XZ. He may be the calm & poised XZ to everyone but with WYB, he can act spoiled. He can demand more and be frank. The way he wants WYB/LWJ to show the kind of devotion he expects is just— why? why????? and you have WYB who will willingly spoil him and grant his every wish. ✨ A true example of XZ wanting the love WWX/LWJ have to happen to him too.

• This month, I saw 2 questionable videos going around related to them. I do not endorse spreading these videos around but i can’t help that it pops up on my weibo feed and fans really have different etiquette when it comes to this. But i have to say that it should be a genera rule to not promote these proxy shooting because it’s too invasive. If they are hiding, we should not be the ones exposing them. They are already working enough as it is to keep their privacy. Please do not ask me for the video. I am mentioning it here for archiving purposes only.

One video is from WYB’s shoot of Luoyang, Lele & YanYan were assisting another guy aside from WYB with an umbrella. Why would they do that? We know the hiding by umbrella ploy was used before, like in SDC 3. So are they using the same tactic to protect this friend when he is visiting the crew?

Second one is at a hotel. Video is allegedly from a 🍤, they were more interested with XZ but they filmed WYB was also in the same hotel. XZ went in without any luggage too.

The videos are not clear at all, to the point that you can’t provide this as evidence in court that “based on this video it’s clearly wyb or xz” , so take it with a grain of salt.

• The start of everyone’s love for the AU pair Shengyang x Chen Shuo! This Sunshine couple! ☀️ These two are so passionate about their dreams, one with art and other w/ dancing. Their smiles. Their positive disposition. How can you not love them???

There is also the observation that SBMS premieres 9/1, conveniently when all the activities for Summer Movies, which includes OnO is done. This is not the first time this year that their projects were not released within the same period. It feels too much of a coincidence. This drama will be done in a month so i don’t know if WYB’s Bright Road can still squeeze in it’s airing before the year ends, tho i’m not optimistic cause drama licensing is tricky. Before LOCH gets released Spring Festival 2024. No matter what happens, All I know is BXGs are booked and busy!
