I’ve seen many people reblog a post which contains tweets that, in my eyes, amount to a single complaint that is only half true (but that I agree with for the most part). But anyway, here’s a longpost:

I think it’s mostly wrong to say FPS multiplayer “peaked” ("was most fun for the playerbase"?) with Source games in the way presented. Believe it or not, you can still join a server with 30 people playing on a user map with fucked up assets everywhere, and some of the 30 people playing will be 14-year-olds with bad mics getting mad at being spawn killed by someone with 20,000 hours in the game. In fact, there are servers like this in most Source games, including Garry’s Mod, TF2, and CSS and CSGO (but honestly I think TF2 is most representative of the above scenario). I just launched Valve’s community server browser and have found an unending list of silly-sounding servers for TF2: Minecraft trade, Murder at the Mannor, Zombie Escape, Medieval Mode, all full or near-full. I checked Garry’s Mod: SCP-RP, Zombie Survival, Clone Wars Roleplay, “Swamp Cinema”, 1980’s Mafia Roleplay, DarkRP (x20), again, all well-populated. Admittedly CS2 was mostly deathmatch servers (due to it being Source 2 and not Source and so missing a lot of plugins that would allow for “fun” servers), but CSS still had surf, bhop, minigames, and jailbreak servers still going and full. My server browser won’t show CSGO for whatever reason, but up until CS2 released I know for a fact that these silly ass servers still exist there too. The implication that these servers and their conditions are gone is wrong. You don’t want a server with the exact same conditions though, I think you want to relive the specific memories you’re having and feel happiness again. But maybe I’m going too far there.

How about this. I’ll give it to you, Dusk developer, that for you FPS multiplayer peaked with insane TF2 trade servers, but you also make boomer shooters for a living, so I think you’re biased towards enjoying an older generation of games anyway. Modern FPS games are fantastic and in their own ways contain a lot of fun. Modern games in general fill the spaces that, for you, TF2 servers filled. Have you seen Roblox minigames and Minecraft server plugins? They’re actually crazy and decently well made. I’m excited that kids have grown up in such a good environment for games. They have tons of options that we didn’t have back then. It’s awesome! Like, don’t let your nostalgia blind you to the fact that kids are having just as much fun as you now. TF2 and Garry’s Mod are not the be-all, end-all of FPS multiplayer fun. That sentiment I completely disagree with and think people should get over.

But like, how the hell does competitive gaming play into this? I truly don’t buy the wording of “Esports and competitive ranking ruined multiplayer”. It’s just not true. Not only are the servers you’re mourning still exist, they’re still well-populated and their “golden age” coincided with some of the greatest heights in competitive FPS gaming. You know what’s funny? When CSGO released in 2012, TF2 saw a drop of almost 10,000 average players. It recovered basically the next year. Besides a small dip in 2018, TF2 had held around 50,000 average players since its release, until 2019 where its average player-count has risen to about 80,000 players. Garry’s Mod wouldn’t peak in total concurrent players until 2015 and has had a dedicated core of players averaging around 25,000 since like 2013. Seriously, these are incredibly consistent player-counts throughout the release of Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, Apex, and Valorant. In fact, contrary to the tweeter's implicit assumptions, it seems like nothing much has changed, and that competitive gaming did not, at all, ruin or depopulate these “fun” spaces.

So, again, how does competitive gaming and esports play into this? Only thing I think is valid is the fact that a few popular modern FPSes don’t do the whole “community-hosted server” thing: Apex, Fortnite, PUBG, Valorant, and Overwatch all do not have native community-hosted server support. Which, to be frank, is bad for their competitive gaming scene too! Esports has ALWAYS used self-hosted servers for practicing to get better. I don’t know the argument for not having these sorts of things, maybe not developing the toolkit for these things is easier than developing them. IDK. But I agree that it is bad that many popular games don’t support this sort of thing. The “self-hosted netizen” is a category of person that’s been declining for a long time regardless of the effect of competitive first-person shooter games on the casual first-person shooter games self-hosted server market. But again, for the topic of the post, I think this is a completely nonsensical implication. As far as I can tell ALL Valve-made Source engine games have active and popular community servers still, and the popular games ALL have very populated servers with “fun” gamemodes and atmospheres. Competitive has grown very popular, yes. It's true. It's fun to compete, everyone knows it. But esports has taken very little if anything away from the casual playerbase of Source games.

(Also, for the record, during the actual multiplayer FPS golden age of the time, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 shooters, there were no self-hosted servers for us, and it was still the most fun anyone ever had playing casually on console. It was the age of trickshotting and montages, man! For the intent of this post that exact restriction counts as “keeping players from interacting with one another” yet these games, especially COD, were, uh… infamously social. Not to mention these games had competitive scenes alongside the casual scene perfectly fine.)

I think, really, ignoring the actual content of the tweet, these tweets are just about nostalgia for your childhood. Which is fine! You can miss things you used to do for fun and no longer do. Probably every human that’s ever existed has gone through this. I mean, again, it is kind of popular in current culture to be nostalgic. The 90s aesthetic, early 2000s media, retro games, super hero movies, cartoons being consumed by adults to a greater degree than ever, et cetera. I think to some extent the complaint itself isn’t like, a completely unclouded judgement of the Decline of The Beauty of Multiplayer Gaming throughout the years. The concrete complaints in those tweets seem both a little rose-tinted and unnecessarily doomerpilled to me. But like, regardless, it’s kind of your fault for not returning to these things, man. Go join one of those servers if you’re not busy being an adult with a job and friends and other obligations that may keep you from doing things that you’re not used to and have fun like you did in childhood. Or is that what's actually the problem…? I don’t know. A suggestion. I just think in the end the complaint isn't valid.

This post is long and I had a LOT of thoughts that I may have missed or chopped off at the incorrect time. I think the picture I'm trying to build has probably been communicated, though? Maybe I’m not considering something, maybe I overinterpreted implications, maybe the fact that the playerbase of TF2 and Garry's Mod being highly consistent for ten years or whatever is not indicative of anything I've said, but I hope regardless you understand that like, at least part of this tweet is weird to say in the ways I've attempted to untease. People young and old are still having crazy times in video games and esports has done, as far as I can tell, absolutely nothing to change at, ever.

ohmygosh okay so

with my good old lifelong youtube special interest, i had a period where i was just FASCINATED by all the actual workings behind the various mrbeast channels (and the story of how he got there), particularly mrbeast gaming (which was basically just minecraft videos)

and- ok this might just turn into an infodump for a sec cause i find the operations of it rlly interesting sdfsdk. i had a wonderful rabbit hole week where i watched a ton of videos from the perspectives of ppl who were actually in those challenges, which led me to find out about the mrbeast gaming discord server...

A monstrous thing with 60,000 members and zero channels you can talk in (thank god). It took a while to even JOIN cause it was always at member limit.

The whole thing basically got nuked last year and reformed into some sort of fortnite thing that ive never quite looked at since, but the way it worked was members would fill out a google form with their discord info, and anytime they needed people for a video they'd use some kind of bot that randomly selected a bunch of those form submissions, and checked them against people whose discord accounts were currently online. those accounts would be given a role that let them into some extra discord channels that held the relevant details for whatever the event was.

I joined the server, filled out the thing, and months later, ACTUALLY GOT SELECTED

a couple hundred people, if i recall correctly, had been as well, and the mods announced they were going to hold interviews over a couple hour period later that week, looking for people to be in a future unspecified video.

the odds of me having even gotten to this were crazy so i was already hyped, but i kept my hopes low just to manage it all sbjdhf

The interviews were done in five voice chats, with enough room for one player and a mod. someone would join, get interviewed, then leave the call, then there was a split second opportunity to click on that call with just the right timing as a hundred other people tried to do the same.

somehow, i got in one! i was interviewed by a guy called brethoodie, who was the actual head of mrbeast gaming behind the scenes?? I think??? and like-it actually went super well. we were vibing and it was just a really nice conversation tbh. he had a question they asked like 'if you won 100k and had to spend it on something for urself (rather than donate it, pay off debt, all the other realistic but generic responses), what would you do?' and i thought abt it and realised that in this fantasy land, i'd go all out crazy on materials for some kind of massive art project or sculpture type creation, and he said that was one of the most interesting responses he'd had!!

after that i continued to watch the voice channels and i realised that at the rate they went, they really couldve only interviewed like. i dunno. 20-40 people max? so i was feeling PRETTY good about my chances. he said theyd get back to me in a week or two if i'm in, but I just never heard anything back.

which was like, fine? was disappointed ofc but like. Oh Well. it was an interesting time regardless

One of the first scenarios that popped into my head when I first read TIITTV (I found this series around the time part 5 was posted), was a Drista vs Krang kind of fight. And then I realized Drista may be invincible by default, but that doesn’t mean she’s all that dangerous. (There’s a difference between dangerous and deadly, Dris is definitely a little deadly) So I let the thought go pretty quickly. But I fell down the rabbit hole again and was like, ‘hey, what if we put the deadliest characters from each world in the same room and see who was more dangerous?’ Then I thought: XD as dsmp’s most deadly/powerful. But when considering XD’s powers, it made me realize how little he actually uses them. And that’s when I went back to Drista. Because listen, XD may be more knowledgeable about his powers(and therefore is more able to restrain them in power), but, what is essentially a ‘baby’ god… Drista is the personification of Chaos for a reason. She’s as trigger happy as a 14 y/o logging onto her older brother’s Minecraft server through his account and going crazy with operator commands. (See what I did there ;>)

I thought about this a bit too much and I honestly have no idea anymore. There is an unexpected amount of stuff to consider about the SMP gods, and also a bit about Krang too. Thoughts :D?

Oh, dude, that'd be kinda sick actually. Buncha flashy weapon and potion summoning shots. But yeah, not that she'd know how to actually use them effectively, lmao, she'd have no need to ordinarily.

Hm, I could see an AU where Drista decided to go along with Tommy to check out where she was sending him- but we slide back the timeline a little bit to take place during the Krang invasion. We place some slightly arbitrary limitations on Dris where she can't make another portal right away, but it's too dangerous for them to just sit around doing nothing, hence, joining the fight.

Hm... I'm not sure how much I'd want to take away the main fights from the original rottmnt cast, pretty big part of Leo's character arc in particular, but I could also see Tom and Drista clocking that the big alien flesh ship up in the sky as the probable source of their problems. Drista could hypothetically fly up and help with some portion of the fight, even if that's just by throwing down splash potions to help Leo and hinder the Krang.

I mostly like the thought of her and Tommy tearing up, like, krangified busses and shit. Both because it's badass, and because it doesn't interfere too heavily with how the original storyline plays out.

Alternatively- Krang 2 (the sister Krang) is still on earth in government confinement or something. If she were to break out, she'd likely want revenge on the Hamatos, and especially April, no doubt. I... Have some things that haven't happened yet that would technically make contacting the members of the dsmp possible, but I can't say anything about it yet because it's a pretty big spoiler.

But when things go sideways, Tommy could hypothetically use this unspecified method to contact some godly assistance from the dsmp. So that's a pretty feasible way of setting up a hypothetical fight between one of the Krang and Drista. I doubt she actually has much genuine combat experience, so I could more so see her acting in a supporting role for the others- ooh, she could have a cool scene where she summons a thunderstorm and starts fighting by summoning lightning.

It'd be hard to hit such a fast moving target though, so it's not a completely overpowered ability. Possibly have to get the Krang to stay still for a few seconds to land a shot on her?

Anyway, that's about the extent of my ideas for this concept. Although I'm fairly certain I'm not going to be involving the Krang at all in this series (outside of being mentioned), it was fun to think through the hypotheticals :D

my favorite pastime is imagining my blorbos playing minecraft. what kind of player would they be? what would they enjoy doing the most? idk what it is about minecraft but it can tell you so much about a person

fpk would primarily do redstone stuff. he's not very good at combat or exploring, he's a bit slow and his small hands don't mesh well with a keyboard, and he doesn't have the artistic creativity for building. but with redstone? he could build insane farms, or advanced mechanisms, he'd be the mf to spend all night making a working redstone computer within the game

grimm complements fpk's redstone skills insanely well. he has the eye for aesthetic and enjoys decorating fpk's base to make it look prettier. all those crazy mechanisms fpk builds? grimm will create the most impressive looking outer shell to make it more pleasing to look at. will always offer to decorate your house, and spends most of his time making the area around everyone's base look good

hornet is an explorer, she's the one lagging the server by loading hundreds of chunks every time she's on. she doesn't need a map to find specific locations, she memorizes where they are and can easily track them again after returning home. she would also be pretty good at combat, though her lack of patience means she often dies in very stupid ways. also, she loves bullying zote. asks fpk for redstone trap advice just so she can build a tnt trap under zote's house

holly almost exclusively makes cute little farms for animals and spends their time fishing. they stay away from combat (though they're surprisingly good at it) and instead choose relaxing activities. if anyone builds a strip mine, you'll often find them mining in peace. whenever anyone needs a lot of cave resources, or wool, or a shit ton of wheat and potatoes, holly is the one who has it all, and they will always let you take all of it

zote kind of sucks at everything, but, of course, pretends otherwise. he will challenge hornet to combat (loses), he will try to fight the zombies that surround his house (dies to a random creeper) and he will go mining for diamonds (drowns in lava). if the server had a death counter, he would be at the top, and of course would boast about it. whenever he's not attempting to fuck over hornet's house, he chills at holly's farm, and he will accidentally let all of their sheep out of their pen

lewk is still very young at this point in the au lore, so he mostly just watches either of his dads play. after getting his own account, he would just run around and check what the others are doing, offering to help them around (even if he doesn't really know what he's doing or how all of it works. he is a baby after all). he would particularly enjoy joining hornet on her adventures, and every time he dies, hornet teleports him back to her, despite being against using cheats. he also gets free stuff from her that she gave him using commands. their little secret. how did that baby get a fully enchanted netherite sword? clearly he's just that good

Long Rant !

Just a rant about an experience we had recently, please do not read if you are/support “endogenic systems”!

(Any who ignore the warning above and send hate/yell at us, will be promptly blocked! We don’t care.) Read below the cut.

We are a recently discovered system, and a minor (no we aren’t fucking 13 don’t do that fake claim bs that every single mf tries), being so—we know very little on how to handle our… systemhood, for a lack of a better word. We have been having a hard time recently, and decided to go and play Murder Mystery on Minecraft's Hypixel with our Partner and best friend. We cosplayed together as characters from Honkai: Star Rail, Us: Robin, Partner: Boothill, and out best friend as Firefly/SAM.

We played a few rounds, and eventually came across a Hu Tao cosplayer. We immediately got excited and interacted with them, our partner actively chatting with them for a few rounds after that. Eventually, many rounds later, we all added eachother on Discord, made a group call, and played a lot more.

During this, we had paused or Murder Mystery round to talk about everyone’s preferred names, pronouns, and then to pick a new game.

The person who led the new friend group, who we will call Oak as a fake name (all fake names ahead), had set up the original group of: Oak, My Partner, My best friend, “Aventurine”, “Baizhu” and then “Zhongli” who couldn’t make it to the call. When picking between Build Battle games, a person was added to the group—and we'll call them “Juliet”. Juliet immediately joined call, and was very picky about how we played. On top of this, Juliet brought up how they’re autistic, overstimulated, and pissed off—after being in call for less than five minutes.

Now, we also have autism, this is very understandable. Though, we immediately got a bad feeling, by how they got very pissy about the how we played Build Battle and not the game they asked us to play right away—that being The Blocking Dead. We played two more rounds, before eventually playing what they wanted, not wanting to exclude anyone. When we did this, they then begged for us to let their partner, who I’ll call “Romeo”, into the party AND our group chat. Me and my partner, who had created this group, weren’t initially very happy with this idea—again, being people pleasers, we didn’t speak up, and we let them in.

We played many, many rounds of The Blocking Dead, before finally all getting burnt out, and leaving call. Me and my Partner ended up in a voice call, just chatting and finally us unmasking and just getting to be exhausted with our partner. In the midst of this, Oak had advertised their server to the group chat, and “Romeo” had joined in. “Romeo” almost IMMEDIATELY pointed out the fact that PluralKit was in the server, then claiming they're mentally ill and loved that bot. Then, “Oak”, also admitted they’re a system, and needed the bot for accommodating purposes every now and then. Suddenly, Juliet Introjected as well, also claiming they were a System. We felt like we could trust that group—mostly only “Oak” and “Aventurine, who were the only lasting few of the group besides our already known friends.

After we said “oh shit, not just us, then?/silly”, Juliet then said Plurality was their special interest, and suggested a group chat that could ONLY consist of the systems. Romeo, Juliet's partner, immediately spammed their name, making them check DMs. Suddenly, four of us are in a group chat, and we are all saying hi. Juliet first asks us to all state who’s in front, and our names and pronouns. Everyone else besides Oak and I go first, Oak saying they’re usually blurry, and us lying and saying we weren’t sure, and gave basic pronouns that mostly consisted of any/all.

Now, we ask basic questions, hoping to get an answer on where to start on being accommodated for our disabilities, non mental, and they then delve into talking about how—getting diagnosed isn’t important, and how, it doesn’t matter if you “have trauma” or not. Then saying that medical professionals don’t care if you have trauma or not, and just want to help you heal and cope with your disorder. They don’t care if it’s “traumaless” or not.

Now, in retrospect, we should have really left there—but we felt obligated to stay, so we could protect our new friend who could fall victim to this. Eventually, the conversation escalated from Oak asking about terminology, specifically “what does polyfragmented mean?”. Juliet immediately began talking about how Plurality is their special interest, and went on to talk about it. They explained it, and then decided to add that Plurality can be caused without trauma, again. This becomes a pattern in the rest of the conversation, continuously going on and on with medical “proof” that used outdated terminology, and came out as far back as 2013.

By this point it was only us and Juliet talking, Oak completely leaving the conversation, doing something else. We were left skimming over all of this with our partner, who urged us to say something first to “Oak”, but we weren’t sure if it was safe to or not.

Now, we'd like to pause the conversation to mention—Romeo is 19, it’s in their profile, and Juliet claimed that they’re only 16 even though, before this, said they were around TWENTY-ONE OR TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OLD.

Taking their age into consideration, after a chat with “Oak” when the group chat between the four of us went dead, we then talked to “Oak” with our partner. Apparently we all had the same gut feeling of discomfort, and went straight to kicking them from the main group chat, and eventually oak left the “plural group chat”.

Boy am I glad you asked!!!!!

So the premise is that grian’s a watcher and kind of a god? Sorta? At least partially. And he’s been building on a private server of his (as one does) for a few millennia, and he starts to get a little bored, and decides to join a multiplayer server, because player interaction is good every once in a while. And it’s been forever since he’s seen kristen (the goddess of death) so he joins her server!

But when he joins, he notices that everything’s a little. Strange? He didn’t get a communicator on login (which always happens, so he’s very confused) and when he asks some players walking by they look at him weird and ask if he means a ‘phone’ (which he has no clue what that is). Plus, everything’s just kinda… odd. Off. The lighting’s too dim for a place with that many people (which, wow), there are barely any trees and no one’s punching any (even when some say they need wood for a project they just walk past), and no one’s using their inventories.

So grian checks out the details of the server, and hardcore is on. He’s confused at how this many people are still playing with hardcore on, especially with skipping nights by sleeping off, and with such poor lighting. And there’s a huge death count to something called ‘old age’, which he’s never heard of before, and the server-wide pain reception is set to max, and apparently no one had logged in and all of them were bred like passive mobs??? And the only reason he could join like normal was because he was a god and kristen had whitelisted him before the changes were made?????? At least it’s on peaceful mode???

As grian has a very minor meltdown on a bench a chunk away from the empty lot of land that is spawn (which was even more confusing because there’s always some sort of welcome at spawn) and this very polite man with a lovely mustache who introduces himself as mumbo (though grian can see that, since even though name tags are turned off too, he can still see it due to watcher/god) asks if he’s alright, then offers to house grian until he finds a job and can get his own place.

Grian, while at first a little confused at having to buy a house (why not just build one?), he does quickly come to learn that the land costs ‘money’ (why not just use diamonds as currency, like everyone on every server ever??), so the next day (mumbo insisted that he sleep for some reason) he announced that he was going mining a thousand blocks out or so, and left to find a relatively untouched piece of land (leaving a very confused mumbo jumbo in his wake).

He mines for most of the day, and due to the server being on peaceful mode, he is unbothered by monsters, and though he’d assumed that there wouldn’t be anything valuable left to mine due to all the players, all the recourses were practically untouched! Which is also worrying, but he won’t complain if it makes him wealthy! So he returns to mumbo’s home, already having forgotten that land costs ‘money’, and asks mumbo where and how he should build, as the city has a general cohesiveness that he doesn’t want to interfere with.

So mumbo reminds his new friend(?) about the cost of land, and the existence of money, and takes grian to a place that would buy his numerous diamonds, all of which are carbon copies of each other, to a place that would buy them for a fair price, and not ask how he got his hands on them, or how they’re all indistinguishable from one another.

Thus, mumbo whisks grian away to a pawn shop that is admittedly quite seedy, and run by a man named quackity. At first, the man seems to think he’s being targeted by a shabbily-made scam, but once mumbo convinces him to test the diamond’s validity, he becomes thrilled to buy each and every one, his grin somehow widening with every diamond confirmed real. He didn’t ask where the diamonds came from (in a literal sense, as grian brought them out of his inventory one-by-one), and mumbo didn’t ask how buying all these diamonds wasn’t making him bankrupt. A fair trade in many ways.

So grian then uses his new money to buy the largest adjacent plots of land available (which is quite a few, in the richest-people section of the city, where very few people live, which is on the edge of the city and pretty much the middle of nowhere), and he gives half of the rest of the money to mumbo as thanks for helping him out, then sets off to build his new home!

At present, I have 10,761 word of bullet notes of plot points, so I have a full plan for what will probably end up being ~50k words at minimum to the most recent events I have planned, since I tend to drabble on, plus I’ll have to be less vague for… everything! Even what I’ve written here’ll be expanded on a lot when I write it for real, I’m just really excited to talk about it :D

I've been thinking about Technoblade a lot lately. I miss him.

I have a few things I've been thinking about written below

One of the things that hit me after the news was how hard it was to explain the impact he had. My parent's reaction was basically "a youtuber died? Oh, wait you're crying, I'm sorry it's making you so sad." When I heard the news, I was working on a piece of art that I planned on being the first thing I posted where he would see it. I haven't finished it still. I never got to share the impact he had on me, or the fact that he was the reason I'm making art again in the first place.

What is hard to explain to others is that it wasn't the youtube part that made it sad. I wasn't grieving for a youtube channel, I was/am grieving for the person behind it.

Technoblade had a skill and dedication that I had never seen before in minecraft youtube and doubt I ever will again. There's something mesmerizing about watching his videos and seeing movements in his character that seem natural and expressive, and a skill that makes the most talented player run. Like technodad said, sometimes you would question if the other players could even see him. But most people who watch his videos know there's so much more than that.

Technoblade is probably one of the best people I will ever know, even if I only knew him from videos. Some of the stories we only learned after. Like Techno checking in on friends who were struggling, or calling sick friends every day, or creating lore for a dying server. But there's so much more that we knew already.

For a man with a reputation of selling out and asking for money, I have never seen a man give more. His siblings can go to college, if they want. I cry every time I think about it. He raised so much for the sarcoma foundation, but even before then he was giving so much. His fans were over a third of the UHC donations, that's over a third of the donations from one person's fans in a 200-person international event that he wasn't even planning on joining. In MCC pride they added a bell because he asked, so that they would get more donations.

Even not considering charitable donations, we know he was helping so many of his friends. From encouraging Tommy to use his character in thumbnails or video titles, to making sure that Nihachu wasn't spoken over in DSMP events, to calling out his friend's channels if they were with him when his sellout timer ran out. I remember hearing from mcc channels about his intro videos for his teammates. I remember mccs of him sending raids to smaller channels. I remember animators thanking him for being the only one to respond when they asked for audio files to use.

He always encourages his fans to be a good community and it showed. I remember the potato wars, and him calling out fans for being rude and encouraging respect and support for squidkid, and supporting him instead of dragging him down. I remember mcc games where fans were angry, and Techno was telling his team that they did well and reminding the chat to thank the crew for their time and effort organizing. I remember him emphasizing that no one should be pressured to be perfect, and that the tournament should be fun. I remember his dsmp character changing to be more accurate to what he said instead of sensationalizing, and a story line that changed to include more people. I remember a dry humor that made the dark plot of the dsmp accessible to the people that wouldn't have been able to watch otherwise. I remember chat requests for callouts to lgbt groups that were always instantly answered with acceptance. I remember skywars videos titled just so that they sounded better for colleges, but techno teaching us anyways. I remember fans responding to hate by making a charity raffle for coral conservation, responding to sadness by donating to cancer research. I remember a man who told us his odds were better than they truly were so that he didn't make us sad, who made jokes about his surgeries, and made merch about his death, giving us something to laugh at even as we cried.

I remember chats filled with thousands of people asking Technoblade for a story and listening for hours as he shared his stories with us.

I miss him. I miss the good and acceptance and joy he brought to a community of millions. But the community is still here, and I will forever be glad for that.

okay so not as rabid as usualll but im doing a little writeup of a situation i am in because i am not quite sure what is. Goaing Oan

soooo like ages ago i was added to this discord server, it belonged to a friend i met at a convention and their group of friends was in there. it was a while ago, im not sure how long but at this point it would've been over a year ago. last year was. a shitfight because i was so busy with work, and since then I've inly become more busy, so I didn't really go in there very often. i do remember maybe joining an active voice chat a few times, but i dont think i was in there for very long each time, the longest i was in there was probably under thirty minutes? not sure, this was a while ago

anyway, i think at some point i left the server (it was a minecraft server by name, and i don't play that much anymore). i have no idea if i personally made the decision to leave or what. i just don't know.

i was hanging out with a friend last night and they were scrolling through a discord server and i recognised some of my friends in there. i asked them about it and they told me it was the same server. in the moment, i felt like making more of an effort to talk to and befriend this group of people, as i am no longer as stressed as i was with work (but still very busy) and so i asked them if they could send me a link. they said something to the effect of it wasn't their server so they didn't want to hand out links, which is fair but the way they said it struck me as being a bit odd. so, i messaged the person who owned the server and asked if i could be let in (on my friends advice). they messaged me back saying that "a few of the admins and mods were uncomfortable with you in their space" and that they would "double check with them but it isnt looking too good right now"

which leads me to where i am now. i havent been in this server for at least a good six months, but probably much longer. i thought i left, but i was possibly removed? im really unsure about the circumstances to be plainly honest.

i know that if anyone is reading this, i probably sound like your average socially unaware loser who was clearly being an asshole in some way im not disclosing in my post but. because it was a while ago now and ive been so busy, im having trouble remembering my interactions in there - but in my interactions with others i do a lot to ensure that im being polite and friendly with others. i just have no clue what i could have done, either online or in person to make these people so uncomfortable.

this also reminds me of a very unfortunate situation a few years ago where i had a nasty argument with someone who was previously a close friend, and they told all of our mutual friends that i had told them to kill themselves (i hadnt, we'd just had an argument). i had worked very hard to build that connection with those friends, and because they were closer with the other person, they had believed them. i foind i was suddenly uninvited from the group chat, and when i went to go and say my usual hellos to them (because at the time i had no idea about the rumour) they all reacted very strangely and all seemed incredibly uncomfortable, so i left them alone after that. this incident caused me to socially isolate myself for years, rather than pushing everyone to tell me why i was making them uncomfortable. i still havent heard directly from those people today, which would be fine if they showed no interest in talking to me, but at a convention towards the end of last year, they came up to me and asked me where I'd gone, and have been friendly since, but the level of that seems to fluctuate back into them shunning me, for reasons I'm unsure of.

this situation did a lot of damage to me, but i dont want to flip out just because the situation im in now reminds me of the last one. unless they tell me what's wrong (which i dont think they will) I can't really learn anything specific from it, so i guess at this point i just have to try and be more careful in social interactions with others in the future and try not to let it bother me? i just have no clue other than that

This morning I woke up in a terrible mood. I didn't want to see or talk to anyone. I felt like an outcast in a way. But I figured like usual I'd get over it with time and tried to stick to my schedule. I shaved my body today and discovered the irmine I caught last night escaped his trap. He also shit in front of my door. I wasn't very hungry this morning so I just made a packet of soup. I got to stream a little late.

I warmed up with a few different things. I thought I was doing very poorly and sort of gave up by drawing basic shapes. My confidence was crushed today. I felt like I was being judged or not taken seriously for being in such a poor mood. I was extremely close to quitting and laying in bed but I committed to working on the commission for a couple hours. Eventually I started feeling a little better. DS showed me a nice YCH she wanted.

After stream I watched a few youtube videos on Minecraft anomalies until lunch time. I almost napped. When I took Sporticus out before lunch, mom said we'd be moving but the way she put it made me think it was going to be this year which was sudden. It was news I couldn't process at the time but I got the timeline cleared up since I misunderstood. This is happening next year or later which was already a plan I knew about. I again wasn't hungry for lunch so I made a can of beefaroni.

While I worked on a pic of Princess Celestia, I talked to JD for awhile about the housing situation and then about whatever. I JUST realized that I forgot to do today's request because I started shuffling the kinds of projects I work on throughout the week. So for some reason I thought it wasn't a request day but it was. Anyways, I also worked on my Mr Bean VRchat world and experimented with how I'm going to animate the lighting. I left JD early to use the bathroom before my therapy appointment.

Therapy was interesting, I went over what I've been journaling specifically for the appointments and he helped me realize that I'm overthinking and that it's contributing to my stress. I've begun using 'problem solving' as an unhealthy coping mechanism. I also told him about how I think I've been having trust issues lately and we started delving into that. He asked me something like "When have you given someone your all and experienced them leaving you?" This was a really good way to phrase it and I gave him a couple examples. I couldn't pull it all off the top of my head though and we were running out of time so my homework is to remember the kinds of relationships I've had and determine when I've experienced this kind of thing.

After therapy I decided to stay in VRchat and joined BD since she was on and I know it's her day off. She was playing Go Fish with DR so I joined them and it was very fun. He won most of the rounds, he even won on turn 1 which was so lucky. He did that by getting three 7's and asking me if I had a 7 which gave him an instant set of 4 which is a victory. Then we checked out a couple dog worlds and I got into my dog gear avatar to be funny. I didn't quite feel like I belonged, I sort of felt like a 3rd wheel. But I think they liked having me there.

I joined DS while she worked on her fursuit. We watched a Markiplier video and a She Ra, finishing season 2. We did our puzzles and she headed off for bed. I planned on spending the next hour alone doing something so I hopped on the Minecraft server. BR happened to be playing and invited me to a VC so we chatted and played together. It feels weird opening up to stuff like this. I always feel like no one wants to play anything with me so when it happens, I feel like they are just waiting to get me out of their hair even though they are the ones that approached me.
