i’m sure you have such a busy life doing great lovely things but this is my formal request as someone who has read literally all of your ao3 works and is your secret #1 stan
baby i need a long form jegulus fic from you so bad please im on my hands and knees
nothing fades like the light was so delicious but i needed MORE 😭
the really good jegulus fics are LACKING we need a hero and i nominate you
if you’re feeling bored crazy silly goofy this summer……. you know what to do.
hi! i know this message is intended to be complimentary and i’m glad u enjoy my writing but please don’t send me stuff like this lol. not once have i ever indicated that i take requests nor that i want to and it is actually quite odd to ask a stranger to write you a book for free!
like. i’m trying to say this as gently as possible but these kinds of messages are just. SO out of touch. it takes hours for me to write a single ch of a fic, hundreds of hours to write long-form novel length fics—it’s a labor of love, which is why i do it, but it’s still labor. and i’m not gonna work for anyone but myself for free! i am an adult who is in school and working two jobs on top of that to make ends meet and my main concern this summer will be making sure i can pay my rent, not writing fanfiction!
like. in an ideal world i’d be getting paid at least $20/hr for my labor. let’s estimate that it takes ~5 hours for me to write one ch. if u want like a 20-30 ch book length fic, that would run u about $2-3k. and i still might be undervaluing my own work there! does that help put into perspective the amount of work this is? and not just the amount of work i’m doing, but the amount of work ANY fanfic writer is doing, and sharing for free? please realize that it is actually insane that people are ALREADY writing & sharing free books with you.
also. not really sure what u mean when u say really good jegulus fics are lacking and honestly that is a mean thing to say! i know u mean it as a compliment to me but i do not want any compliments that put other writers down. there are lots of really talented and wonderful writers pouring their time and effort into longform jegulus fics; i’m sure you can find some that u like if u spend some time looking. and this is definitely not the place to look bc ‘nothing fades like the light’ is probably the only jegulus fic i will ever write simply bc i don’t like regulus v much! lol
anyway. want to reiterate that i’m trying to say this all gently bc im assuming that u are maybe someone young who does not write fic and/or does not have to worry abt paying rent etc and that’s why maybe u didn’t understand how this message would come across. but please take this as a learning opportunity to understand why this is a very weird thing to send someone and definitely do not send me messages like this again lol

“When super shoes came out, we all had to grapple with questions about what, exactly, we’re pursuing when we line up for our non-professional races,” Hutchinson says. “We all thought we were engaged in the lofty pursuit of self-knowledge, but super shoe sales suggest that we really just wanted to beat our rivals and training partners.”

Help My Mum Fight Illegal Renoviction!
$800 needed urgently for July Rent
Two months ago, my mother's landlord said that he was kicking her and her roommates out of their house. My mother did not understand this required a legal document, and agreed to try to be out by July 1st. One of her roommates managed to secure new housing by the deadline, but her and the others did not. She finally reached out for help, and we contacted the Residential Tenancy Board who informed us that since they have never received a legal notice of eviction, they aren't required to leave yet. The problem is, since one roommate already left, they are short her share of July's rent.
We must get the landlord to issue a proper, legal eviction notice. If they cannot pay this rent in full as soon as possible, he can file for a 10-day eviction for non-payment of rent, rather than the four month notice for renoviction which they are owed.
You can send funds to paypal.me/sphinxRegalia or if you're in Canada, e-transfer to icarusAbstracted@ protonmail.com
Thank you so much for sharing & donating, and any advice u can offer, especially for finding an advocate or legal representation is most appreciated. i am helping my mum with this but both of us are sort of hopeless with paperwork and will need all the help we can get to fight this!
$0 / 800 as of 4th of July 2023

We can answer this actually we love talking about Cool Art Stuff.
Despite what one may assume, sharp edges in watercolor is actually quite easy! Come, sit, allow us to share our secrets. It's like 50% "materials" and 50% "we spent a long-ass time figuring out how to do sharp edges in watercolor and now we're really good at figuring out the exact combos of consistency and brush stroke required to make those really hard edges"
The first trick is, of course, to not try and do it at the beginning of the painting. When you're just starting to block shapes in to your watercolor, pursuing sharp edges is a fool's ordeal, and you can only really get those sharp edges in as finishing touches near the end of the work.
The second trick is to work wet-on-dry - this limits the spread of the watercolor and allows you to prevent bleeding, but you have to make sure your painting is COMPLETELY dry before painting, or you'll risk having some ill-defined lines and bleeding.
The third trick is to work with... cake watercolors? There's a tern for it, we just can't remember it - dry pan watercolors, where you have to wet the paint to "activate" it, offer you a LOT more control over the consistency of your paint, and using a relatively thick paint will allow you some REALLY sharp lines! Fair warning, your mileage may vary based on the specific paints you use just because pigment is Expensive and cheaper brands of watercolor will almost definitely be, like, cutting out as much pigment as they can manage in order to cut corners, and the sharp edges will be less obvious the more transparent they are.
As a general rule of thumb when you pay for Fancy watercolor you're paying for the insane amount of pigment that they put in their Fancy Stuff and that lends itself a lot more to Sharp Lines (plus one thing of it will last Fucking Forever). The black we use Specifically is an Artisanal Fancy Brand that we don't remember the name of and we've been using the same ~$10 thing for more than a year without even using up half of it, but honestly the actual paints you use are the Least important part of doing watercolor, you can do like the exact same thing with dollar store paints it'll just be a bit less pigmented.
The fourth trick is to just, like, practice a TON. You WILL have to spend time getting it right. It will take a Long-Ass Time. You will have So Much Trouble. Unfortunately this step cannot be avoided but we can still warn you that you'll be trying to make really sharp lines for like an hour and it still won't quite work.
The last trick is to uhh

Between Vee eating cards to fuel her magic and there literally being a cardgame called Magic the Gathering, how long until Gus and Hunter end up at the local nerd/game/comic store, getting increasingly frustrated as the attendant patiently tries to explain the rules of the game but the boys can't figure out how to activate the human magic glyphs and the attendant can't figure out why the two kids keep trying to fight them on the rules.

I kept changing my Tavs voice to be higher with each of the masculine variants bc I could never decide which one suited him more and because im Like That i Had to come up with an in-universe excuse to why his voice kept changing. So I just declared he has magical testosterone potions he used to get from a pal in baldurs gate. but ever since the squid ship stole him away and he woke up with the rest of of the Gay Brigade in fuckall nowhere, hes so preoccupied with the tadpole/absolute nonsense that the journey to baldurs gate is getting prolonged and he cant get back to his prescriber!!! So bc he isnt taking it every day, some effects start to wear off. They wont ever go away completely to his relief, but his voice gets a lil lighter and less hair is growing back after shaving. Its like when you forget to get your T re-prescribed and go a while without it bc life and busy and then one day you wake up to a blood moon . and its like. ah. i see. better get back on that boy juice huh
