what is astral projection and how is it connected to shifting? (sourced information)
astral projection
noun
a supernatural phenomenon in which a person’s astral body is said to separate from the physical body and travel to or in a different plane of existence. (dictionary.com)
The term was first recorded between 1885 and 1890.
"The idea comes from a 19th century mystical system called theosophy which claims that we have seven bodies from the lowest physical to the highest spiritual and mental bodies," Dr Susan Blackmore told HowStuffWorks during an interview. (Astral projection: Facts and theories, Callum McKelvie, Benjamin Radford, February 25, 2022)
According to Wikipedia, astral projection takes up some type of form in the following religions: Kemetism (Ancient Egyptian), Animism/Shamanism (Amazon, Inuit), Hinduism, Shinto (Japanse), Taoism (Taoist), Judaism, Christianity, and Western esotericism.
The idea of astral travel is ancient and occurs in multiple cultures. The term "astral projection" was coined and promoted by 19th-century Theosophists. It is sometimes associated with dreams and forms of meditation. (Astral Projection, Wikipedia)
"what is western esotericism?" (can skip)
Western esotericism is used as an umbrella term for a wide variety of historical traditions that were traditionally neglected in academic research but have been moved to the foreground in recent years. These include “gnostic,” Hermetic, or theurgical currents in late antiquity, the so-called “occult sciences” (astrology, alchemy, magic), Jewish and Christian kabbalah1, theosophy, Rosicrucianism2, illuminism3, occultism4, spiritualism5, and related trends in modern and contemporary culture such as new age and occulture. (University of Amsterdam)
1 a form of Jewish mysticism that focuses on understanding the hidden, secret knowledge and meaning within Jewish tests and practices2 the belief that its members possess secret wisdom that was handed down to them from ancient times. 3 belief in or claim to a personal enlightenment not accessible to humankind in general 4 the study and pursuit of hidden knowledge, often aimed at achieving spiritual insight or personal power 5 a system of belief or religious practice based on supposed communication with the spirits of the dead, especially through mediums
"what is theosophy?"
theosophy, occult movement originating in the 19th century with roots that can be traced to ancient Gnosticism and Neoplatonism. The term theosophy, derived from the Greek theos (“god”) and sophia (“wisdom”), is generally understood to mean “divine wisdom.” Theosophical writers hold that there is a deeper spiritual reality and that direct contact with that reality can be established through intuition, meditation, revelation, or some other state transcending normal human consciousness. (theosophy, editors of Encyclopedia of Britannica, J. Gordan Melton, May 9, 2025)
In esotericism, astral projection (also known as astral travel, soul journey, soul wandering, spiritual journey, spiritual travel) is an intentional out-of-body experience (OBE) in which a subtle body, known as the astral body or body of light through which consciousness functions separately from the physical body, travels throughout the astral plane. (Astral Projection, Wikipedia)
Most people see astral projection as a method to shift, there are countless posts about it on forums, some I will list below if you would like to read for yourself.
e1 e2 e3
There isn't much talk about astral projection, but it is the sister of shifting and can be used as a method of shifting. I've heard talk of waiting rooms, and astral projection can be used as a waiting room as well.
There are so many possibilities regarding shifting because shifting is limitless. Recently I've had an out of body experience right after shifting/manifesting, which I now believe to have been astral projection.
Update: I have learned something new, astral projection is when, "...your consciousness fully leaves your body and floats around this reality." (@callsigndio , commented).
So what I experiences was likely the void state, which I will be doing more research on tomorrow!

The In-Depth Look at Julie-Su Part 6: Knuckles #16-23
Issue #16 is a one shot. Here Knuckles is upset after finding out that his mom plans to marry her new boyfriend. He runs off not wanting to talk to anyone at the moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First (But definitely not the last) time that Julie kisses Knuckles. Then they share a nice quiet moment together.
Tumblr media
Issue #17 & 18 features yet another past echidna guardian with a ton of backstory. He meets Julie-Su who is riding an absurdly evil looking horse type of creature.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love that she's giving him attitude even when in the thrones of death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In issue #18 she stops by Lara-Le's house (Knuckles's Mom) for some tea and cookies and to hear about of Tobor's (The echidna with the unique eyes) backstory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another moment I like. Here we see Julie-Su going from being in complete denial about wanting a relationship with Knuckles to hugging him on the exact same page. Kind of reminds me of Michiru from Fruit of Grisaia who would also fail at trying to be a tsundere type.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second kiss scene.
Tumblr media
Issues 19-21 barely has Julie in it and centers around the Royal Acorn Family. It really feels like a plot that should have been in the main Sonic comic series but for some reason ended up here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Issue 20 features the first full appearance of Elias who would later show up in the Sonic comic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this point Julie gets knocked out for pretty much the rest of the arc.
Tumblr media
Next arc 22-24 is going to be a bit tricky to talk about without getting political because it features politics. Please keep in mind that this arc was written way back in 1999.
It features a importance first appearance of Julie-Su's half sister Lien-Da working with the Dark Legion to smash stuff up. No matter what you're views are I like to think that people would come together against the anti-flat screen party.
Tumblr media
Did some quick research and found this from howstuffworks. Flat screen tvs used to be called HDTVs when they were first released around 1998.
"Those sets came from manufacturers like Panasonic and Sony, and had a different appearance -- they were wider than standard televisions. That's because the new HDTV standard also included a new aspect ratio. The standard aspect ratio was 4:3, the new ratio was 16:9. They also came with a hefty price tag -- the first sets on the American market cost $7,000 or more."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lien-Da has never looked more sinister. You can really tell that the artist (Jim Valentino) enjoyed drawing the Dark Legion and it's various members.
Tumblr media
Nice Chaotix group shot. This upcoming full page scene I'm going to let speak for itself and that's all I'll say on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope you enjoy seeing Julie hang upside down because that's what she spends the most of issue 24 doing.
Next up: More hanging around and the Dating arc.

HowStuffWorks is full of slop written by ai. Not a good source.
hello, could your provide any sources? I haven't been able to find any sources suggesting that it isn't reliable, and MBFC still rate it very high for factual reporting. you're the second anon to message about this, so it's clear that you aren't the only person who doesn't believe HSW is reliable, but I do need to find a reliable source before I start removing this source from my fact checks

Are we all descended from a common female ancestor? | HowStuffWorks
Yes, all humans share a common African lineage but it's something else between African and Asians that goes beyond the common connection between the two. Ancient humans who are no longer with us, share something with Africans that dates back millions of years back to when Homo Erectus wondered about our planet.
This is a double connection between Africans and Asians that no other humans can make claims to each other. Yes, all humans are the same people living on earth today, it's just that Africans and Asians history goes back further than any other groups of humans on earth.

Is there a specific reason public transportation sucks in the US? I don't see why cars are still dominant when it's so obvious trains are the way to go.
Here's a few articles for you, anon - these are about how cars became the dominant form of transport in the US and still are.
HowStuffWorks: Why did cars become the dominant form of transportation in the U.S.?
The Atlantic: The Absurd Primacy of the Automobile in American Life
Bloomberg: 9 Reasons the U.S. Ended Up So Much More Car-Dependent Than Europe
The gist of it is that after World War II especially, more emphasis was put on road infrastructure in the US, and air travel also became (slightly) more affordable and popular simultaneously. The railroads declined as a result, and US public transit suffered massively. But even before World War II, Americans took to cars on a more substantial scale than people in other places did, likely due to how the automotive industry operated in the US (you can blame Henry Ford for a lot of that). With supplies easy to obtain for manufacturing in the US, especially oil and rubber, it was natural for the US to start whipping out more cars than anyone else - and buying them, too.
Remember that post-WWII, American infrastructure more or less remained untouched, whilst other countries had significantly more rebuilding to do. The automotive industry thus continued to grow unchecked, and this led to a direct decline in the railroad industry. Today, most US railroads just run freight, with Amtrak being the only national passenger service and various commuter rail services in populated areas handling high volumes of commuters each day. It's a shadow of what we once had, and it's devastating.

At 4:30 a.m. Nov. 20, Marshall Brain II, founder of the popular HowStuffWorks website and longtime director of North Carolina State University’s Engineering Entrepreneurs Program, sent an email to those he called friends and colleagues. He wrote that—contrary to what his manager had announced—he wasn’t retiring from the university; he’d been forced out.
Less than three hours later, according to his death certificate, Brain shot himself in his office on campus. He was 63.

The homesickness of liminal spaces
‘Hiraeth: a Welsh phrase for homesickness or yearning for a home to which you can not return, or for one that never existed in the first place. this phrase relates to liminal space with many of the images we relate to liminal space being artificial, a place that never existed in the first place, and the ones that are real are places that are no longer functional, old malls, deserted playgrounds, gas stations at night all places that used to have people in and on every day. People are the important thing in this equation, most places now as liminal spaces are used as familiar places devoid of people, bereft of life, devoid of what makes it familiar. The familiarity of a place one may have a memory in but have forgotten until seen again but in a new context.
Age affects all even places, with most just being kept up with and reworked to fit our ever-growing idea of sense. A mall in the early 2000s and a mall now are in different places even if it's the same mall. The website HowStuffWorks explains it better than I could and even goes into how COVID helps further this idea. Many real liminal spaces are places of transition or places in between where you're worn down by time and abandoned, losing the thing that makes them familiar, the livability of the space. Well-kept abandoned buildings from malls to gas stations in between modern and old school are the most common spaces that can give one a sense of nostalgia and yearning for what once was even if they had never been there before. its pace that we all have been but never paid much attention to until they were gone, it the mundane sense that was taken away from them that makes them liminal.
The internet has captured this greatly with artists and urban explorers alike posting pics or art of images that give one a since homesickness for the images and places, Unlocking memories that may never have been. Old Minecraft servers are a good example of this, I did not use online Minecraft a lot but a video by Cresendex on YouTube called (Liminal Space - the Fear of Forgetting) touches on his childhood memories and their relationship with liminal space. The video goes into how in exploring his old Minecraft servers he came upon many things that he had forgotten, explaining to the viewer what had been made for and how seeing it then without his old online friend made it feel wrong.
The way he explains the other liminal space in his video was very personal but relatable, I may not have been in Minecraft servers, but I do have an old computer that I found after looking into this topic and logging back into it was a trip to the past that I didn't know I needed. After opening it, I was met with an old screen saver, an old steam file,as well as my old youtube. The whiplash of it all was both nostalgic feeling but also a little unsettling on how this one device had saved a me I no longer recognized. The idea that this one device staying stagnant while I move on and grew up was one I had not thought of when putting away in storage, by accident I made myself a time capsule. It was and in between me now and then, a transition that happened without me noticing. That in between is what makes a liminal space like that what they are, we can tell what it was or what it should be but we don't know what happened to get it like there. The missing bit of information is what unsettles us, but also makes us long for it. It's the mermore that were there or that relate to it that make us crave these places or images. The homesickness for something that can never be again.

Hi I was looking into the HowStuffWorks and I found multiple sources confirming it's reliability.
Columbia University links to it on this page: https://guides.library.columbia.edu/c.php?g=197055&p=4519057
Education World rating: https://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/site-reviews/how-stuff-works.shtml
Kinda biased but HSW FAQ on reliability: https://www.howstuffworks.com/faq.htm#U
The site isn't considered an academic source though. In my opinion it's equivalent to a news site as there are opinion and lifestyle articles which are biased in nature. But when it comes to factual articles the facts written are checked and sourced properly.
Anyway hope that was helpful. Have a good day or night!
hi, thank you for sending these sources in! of course no source is going to be perfect, but from what I've seen it doesn't seem to be considered unreliable. I'll keep an ear out about it and be cautious to double check anything I read on there, but at this point I'm not planning to exclude it from sources I use unless anyone sends in a reliable source detailing why it is no longer considered reliable

It is very sad that so many of you believe in a system that is filled with falsehood. I've received so many insulting comments on some of my posts. I've never been one to comment without doing my research before questioning the authenticity. of the author post if I disagree with them.
One thing about me, I never post anything without irrefutable evidence to support my blogs. The entire human race living on earth today are decendents of one African woman and one African man who had dark skin.
The white race is a very stupid invention for people who needed to find self gratification because of poverty and oppression from Monarchs and Black Empires that ruled earth during the dark ages and before,
