Lancelot (Arthuriana)

Iconic figure in arthurian mythos, and a strong influence on the "knight in shining armor" character archetype that we know and love today. While his exact lore varies a lot, some key details are that he was brought up in Arthur's court by the Lady of the Lake as the perfect example of chivalry, was one of the knights of the Round Table, and was the father of Galahad. His name is also really fun to say but that's just my opinion. He did have an affair with the king's wife Guinevere that led to the downfall of the knights of the Round Table, though.

Hup (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance)

He fights evil with a spoon as his main weapon. His friendship with Deet is wholesome af and he stood up to SkekMal, one of the most terrifying physical threats in the whole series, to keep Deet and her friends safe. Short king in every way.

I finally watched the Dark Crystal television series. I have no idea why I waited so long, it was a great show. It did upset me that the show ended with a cliffhanger and wasn’t renewed for a second season. Ugh. My favorite character in the series was Hup the valiant paladin. a niche question, but has anyone ever pondered what classes the dark crystal: age of resistance characters would be in a D&D campaign? my thoughts:

Rian: relatively straightforward. he’d probably be a paladin or a fighter Hup: canonically a paladin. my little guy. my fun time boy. Deet: maybe a spores druid or a shepherd druid. i could also see ranger. Brea: wizard. next question. Seladon: she stumps me. some kind of high CHA caster?? wizard?? warlock?? Tavra: paladin Aughra: divination wizard. come ON now.

A paladin is a person who has sworn an oath. An oath can be anything, hup. As long as you fight for it, you are a paladin.

The sun had yet to emerge over the horizon, yet Theo was using the dorm's common room as a training ring. He thought it a good idea to get some squats and other various muscle bilding exercise in before the first bell rang, but it was evident that Zyldove did not share that sentiment.

Several warnings had been given to the Paladin as his classmate went about her morning and prepared a beverage for their Rogue, but none had stuck.

While being dragged back into my Steven Universe phase, I can’t stop thinking about the song It’s Over, Isn’t It? from Hup’s perspective about Rian and Deet’s relationship

And don’t get me started on Do It For Him/Her

What I’m getting at here is Hup is the Pearl to Deet’s Rose Quartz and I am losing it HELP ME--

I have the movie in the background while I'm drawing and I have to look up during the Podling Party scene. Then I notice the podling in the middle of the band and I headcanon this little guy is Hup! (Until a comic or novel explains his fate)

Red is the trademark color of the Podling but like, the hair and hat on this guy screams Hup to me. And I've listened to the "Trial by Stone" podcasts and theories they talk about concerning Hup and his relation to Kira and yeah I'm just having a moment at the similarities.
