What do you think it might mean to have Eddie wearing Buck's blue henley (or a copy of it at least) from 2x01 in the upcoming episode?

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about seeing Eddie in that blue Henley!! For starters it is definitely the same blue Henley Buck wears in 2x01! Eddie just doesn't wear blue all that often (18 times out of 140+ non uniform costumes!) so the fact that we have him wearing blue and not only blue but a blue Henley we've seen before on Buck is an interesting choice and hints at a couple of things. We of course need to remember we have no idea which scene/scenes this Henley is appearing in and who those scenes will be with and that may have an impact on why this particular Henley was chosen.

Firstly we have the scene we saw Buck wearing this blue Henley - in season 2 - he gets home to find Maddie in his shower having mistaken her for Abby, we have Buck cooking for Maddie and having a conversation about lying low/ hiding out before Buck shows her a picture of Abby.

The most interesting and probably important part of the conversation is the 'Eat, Pray, Love'  section. The idea that Abby is out exploring the world, but actually exploring herself and getting in touch with herself on a sexual level. Its especially interesting when we think about Buck comparing himself to Ana in season 5 because; Abby had a serious relationship which didn't end on her terms, she then dated Buck (having been pushed into it by Carla) to get herself back out there before leaving to escape and find herself. its implied that Abby slept around a bit before meeting Sam and finding her happily ever after with him.

Its interesting how that concept kind of ties in pretty well with Eddie's own dating trajectory - his relationship with Shannon didn't end on his terms, he dates Ana to get himself back out there (having been pushed into it by Bobby) and now we've got him going on a few dates as he figures himself and what he wants out, before in theory finding his version of Sam (cough Buck cough) and getting his own happily ever after.

Eddie dating around and actually discovering himself in a romantic and possibly sexual sense - something we've been give enough clues in canon to know hasn't really happened before now. Whatever his dating life is going to look like in the next couple of episodes (cough Marisol cough) its going to be about him exploring rather than settling down in a serious relationship - the settling down comes after the exploring in the same way it did for Abby.

The other side of the coin is the Eddie wearing blue. Like I said, its not a colour we see him in often, In fact we only see him wearing blue (other than his uniform obviously) a few ties - I'm including denim shirts in this 

2x04 - dark denim shirt -Eddie is with Abeula in hospital - Carla comes in with Chris 2x07 - Navy blue suit - touring Durrand School - light blue denim shirt - Shannon comes round to discuss Christophers new school 2x10 - light blue marl tee - Eddie and Shannon have sex and Chris comes home 3x03 - light blue denim shirt - Eddie drops Chris back off at Bucks post tsunami 'Theres no one I trust more with my son than you' scene 3x04 - (more teal than blue but I'm including it) Chris wakes from a nightmare 3x09 - navy blue tee - Therapy with Frank - post fight club 3x12 - dark blue waffle sweater -Eddie gets called to Christophers school - meets Ana 3x18 - light blue button up shirt - Mays graduation party 4x08 - mid blue denim shirt - Eddie introduces Ana to Chris as his girlfriend 4x14 - navy blue tee - Hospital - the Will scene 5x10 - navy blue shirt with dot pattern - Chris wakes from a nightmare 5x14 - light blue/lavender long sleeve tee - dream sequence in kitchen with Chris 5x17 - white henley with a blue shirt over the top - Christophers bedroom - conversation with Buck and then in Texas seeing family 5x18 - navy blue shirt with dot pattern, blue blazer -HenRen vow renewal 6x08 - dark blue distressed tee - Eddie helping Chris get ready for his school dance 6x09 - dark blue shirt - Eddie asleep on his couch 6x13 - Blue check suit for the Poker game

The thing I hope you're picking up from these occurrences is how much they are tied to family. every single one of the scenes when Eddie is wearing blue represents a key moment in Eddie and Christophers family life and how it is developing. Central to it all is Chris as all of the scenes are connected to him in some way even when he isn't present (perhaps especially when he is not present) even the scene in Franks office in season 3 is about Eddie not wanting Chris to end up like him, while the shirt and blazer worn to HenRens vow renewal is very much focused on strong family dynamics - especially his dynamic with Chris as we see in the flash forward/back scene.

However, in season 6 we have started to see the blue break away from being quite so tied to Chris and family dynamics and be a bit more focused on Eddie from 6x09 - its interesting that we see this split happen when Bobbys voiceover is talking about the Santa Anas coming to an end and the city resting before the cycle starts again. Eddies arc in that episode is about Eddie 'separating' himself from Chris - becoming more than just a father (and firefighter) and because the editing ties that scene to Buck and the blue check suit worn to the poker date connecting so heavily to Buck seeing where this next blue shirt is worn is going to be interesting.

Its because of this use of blue on Eddie that I'm inclined to think that the reuse of this Henley is more to do with it being blue and therefore about some key moment in the Diaz family dynamic/ the Buck and Eddie dynamic than it being connected to potential eat pray love experiences, although its entirely possible that both concepts are valid and correct in this case as we do have Eddie wearing Blue in connection with Ana (and with Shannon although she was less of an eat pray love thing!).

Until we know more about which episode its is definitely for and who else is in the scene its impossible for me to parse out meaning as I haven't seen the script and so much of what I glean from the costumes the wardrobe team put the cast in is derived from the text - which is the same way the Costume designer would make the decisions they have about the costumes we see on screen. Without that text for context, I really am only guessing as to the meaning of a costume and I'll always lean more into colour theory than I would anything else which is why if pressed I'm more inclined to think that they are reusing the Henley for the simple reason that its a Henley in blue. Eddie wears a lot of Henley's - its a key part of his wardrobe - and if they needed a blue one, why spend more money when you already have one in stock (I would have different feelings if it was Buck rewearing it rather than Eddie being seen in it for the first time, then it would definitely be about connecting the scenes) especially when Buck doesn't wear Henleys any more, so I am more inclined to lean towards it being worn in a key moment for the Diaz family/ Eddie and Buck's dynamic in some way over the eat pray love connection because of the Eddie in blue of it all.

Sorry I can't really give you a more focused answer than that, I just really have so little context to go on because even the bts gives us no vague context to work with!!!

Okay now I wanna talk about the Buck fell too soon, Eddie fell too late thing. Because in a sense yes, but at the same time I think it's different circumstances? I know I can only say this with 6 seasons of knowledge about both Buck and Eddie but I think you need to take it into consideration that anything going forward will take all 6 seasons into consideration, so you can look at previous seasons in a different light over new information. It is what I did with my Eddie fell first meta. I can only make the argument I'm making there because of things that happened in season 6. And obviously if you look at season 2 as just season 2, Buck absolutely had a crush on Eddie. Imma assume given the canon information that Buck is not interested in men, he did not know what to do with those feelings and decided that was a deep admiration and never looked at it again on a very classic bisexual I don't know if I want to be you or with you manner. Eddie is hot, they get along well, Buck is still hung up on Abby, Eddie is married, I don't think he looked at it too hard, but you can definitely interpret the way he acts as there's something happening. Is he yearning for Eddie? Is he yearning for family? Is a combination of both? But when you apply season 6 knowledge things can get fuzzy? Because Buck wants love, has no idea how to get it, loves to look for it in the wrong places, how no idea how to identify it, or how to pursue it himself. So to see him having something of a crush on Eddie before he really got to know him, take whatever those feelings were, put them in a box, label it we're the best of friends and never look too closely at it again is plausible. As in those feelings have been there and growing but he never thought to look at them twice because Eddie never really gave him a reason to. Kinda in a we're really close but I don't have someone else to use as a comparison so I will assume that's the normal thing. And when you switch to Eddie, you can have him as steadily falling in love with his best friend and slowly becoming aware of said feelings. There was no initial interest from Eddie to Buck because Eddie is still loves Shannon during season 2 but you have a different effect here. You have a crush on a hot coworker that evolved to a deep bond that Buck suppressed as anything other than friendship and you have a deep friendship that steadily became more. I guess in the end it all comes down to if the show decides to make them canon, with what perception of the story they would go for, you feel me? Because there's a lot of ways for them to retcon their relationship to make it plausible and to make it look planned. But I personally think that right now the easiest way to do that is through Eddie. Because things like the will and Eddie's arc in 6B make it easier to retcon Eddie as in love with Buck. But also the way that the average viewer is seeing Buck with Natalia as the resolution of the couch and they would have to work more to change that perception starting from Buck. I think if you started season 7 with Eddie dropping a "I think I'm in love with Buck" more people would accept it than if Buck went "I think I'm in love with Eddie". I don't know if I'm making any sense but I guess that my point is you can have Buck having the box he put the crush break and him realizing there are real feelings in there that are out of his control and you can have Eddie slowly but surely falling for Buck and realizing theres something there as early as the tsunami. It all comes down to what they would want to do with them if they actually decide to kickstart a romance between them.

hey hi I just caught up with the new chapters of unless you ask me to and first of all, ;-; tears, that fic is amazing I cant wait for the rest. and second, I've struggled with my sexuality for a long time and being demi has been at the back of my mind but theres not a lot of stuff that really goes that in depth about it? so idk I've never rly known but ur demi eddie rly calls to me and like thank you?? you wrote him so well! Darling! I'm so happy you're enjoying it! (Even though there are tears!) I've spent a long time struggling with my own asexuality/demisexuality and things like-- wtf even is attraction? How do you conceptualize and define that when most of the time you're just "ehhhh?" about the whole thing? And maybe things like watching your friends thirsting over people is just confusing or not your own experience at all so you don't even know how to feel about it.

I've run into the same things where there is just not a lot out there that really takes the idea and dives into what it means and how it affects relationships and self-esteem and falling in love. I really wanted to change that.

It's always so special when I have someone comment about how much my demi!Eddie has showcased their own thoughts and experiences. Seeing yourself in your favorite characters and stories has always been so important to me. I really love when I can make people feel Seen and Understood in this thing that can feel so isolating and so much like you're wrong and defective and broken.

There is just something about Eddie in general that resonates so deeply with me but also so much with that concept of asexuality (and also aromanticism? I usually think he has some kind of grayromantic vibes as well) and I've been really enjoying exploring that and what it means through him and the issues he might have.

You seem to know quite a bit abt venom and I don’t rly know who else to ask so…..I’ve been wanting to pick up reading the comics but I’m not rly sure where to start so I was wondering if you have any thoughts on where to begin/ what I should read first thanks!!

I have lots of thoughts!!! This is long and im sorry.

Fair Warning: If you are looking for the movie storylines, you will not find them. The movie storylines, to my understanding, are an amalgamation of different arcs from the comics. The recent movies are not comic-compliant for their origin stories meaning the other content isnt going to line up w comic-canon perfectly ( I can talk more about this if anyone is curious!)

Short answer 1: there is no good place to start just pick up a Volume 1 from any author and go at it.

Short Answer 2: Mike Costa's 2016 run. Volume #1: Homecoming (leads into the most recent run by Cates and Stegman and you can work backward after you catch up)

Long Answer:

It depends on how much back story you want and what stories youre looking for. Venom goes through many different iterations and hosts over the years so theres a few different places you could start based on ur personal story tastes and what you want out of the comics. Im going to outline the general runs from newest to oldest.

Keep in mind i havent read all of the comics yet so im going off of what i know and my own experiences working through the comics.

Note: In general, you get more bang for your buck by buying Omnibuses, complete collections, collected editions, volumes, etc instead of individual issues. (I only buy back issues for collecting purpose or for ongoing series). You can also read them for free online if you dont like paying money for things (personally i like owning things but w/e)

Anyway:

If you want to really see the relationship between eddie and venom you can start w the Mike Costa run from 2016 or the Donny Cates run from 2018. I LOVE the donny cates run but theres some backstory and info you may miss if you dont have other knowledge of venom from previous comics. (Flash Thompson, Cletus Kassidy/Carnage info mainly) Most of it is easily google-able though and if youre jumping into later issues im guessing you dont care too much about spoilers so google away! I think the Cates and Stegman run of venom is so so good it adds some dark story elements and new layers to the character of Eddie (#11 and #12 will hurt you in a good way). It also adds some mythology and additional lore to the symbiote that i kinda love. This is also the most recent run and it ended earlier this year. The venom comics will begin a new run next month i believe but i have no idea how beginner friendly that will be.

The Costa run will require you to know a little about Flash Thompson, but again all easily google-able. As i mentioned above, this directly leads into the Cates run. The costa run starts as the transition between the symbiote being w Flash Thompson and going back to Eddie Brock through Lee Price and then the story follows Eddie.

Speaking of Flash Thompson, this is a good place to start if you want the full lead up to where the comics are now. Flash Thompson as Agent Venom comics are from the Rick Remender and Cullen Bunn runs, beginning in 2011. This was part of a Rebirth for the character and lasted for i believe 40-something issues. There are 3 large complete collections (2 for Remender and 1 for Bunn) or theres smaller collected volumes. (This leads into the Space Knight story line which will then put you at the Costa run.)

If you wanna start with Venom #1 in his solo comics, David Michelinie's 1993 Lethal Protector is the first issues of venom solo comics and i can outline where to go from there as these issues are usually collected in like limited runs with series titles (ex. Venom: The Madness, Venom: Seperation Anxiety, Venom: Carnage Unleashed etc.) instead of just having the volume numbers and it can get confusing v quickly. The Venomnibuses collect a lot of those early issues and story arcs along with some appearances in other characters' comics all in order. Theres 3 Venomnibuses currently that collect all the venom comics (plus bonus issues) up to 2003 i think? So that includes all the OG venom solo run from Michelinie and the Daniel Way runs and would set you up to start the Agent Venom story arc. Again this is pricey if your buying omnibuses but theyre also like 1000 pages and cheaper per issue in the long run.

If you want REAL OG venom and to start from the beginning, Marvel Comics has an Epic Collection for venom called Symbiosis that collects a good amount of venom appearances in the Amazing Spider-Man series before he got his own series, including Eddie's origin story. Although this collection does miss some crucial story points like #361-364 (i think) which is the first fight between carnage venom and spiderman and #375 which is the point where vemom/eddie go to San Francisco (also first canon appearance of Ann Weying) and is basically the launch point for the 1993 6 part Lethal Protector series (as mentioned above). Those missing issues i THINK are on a spiderman collected edition, you can also buy back issues online or just read them for free online if u feel the burning desire to read them.

Like i said, theres no qrong place to start it mainly just depends on how you wanna do it. Some people are purists and wanna start from the very beginning, others may just wanna dive in and work backwards (basically what i did, i started on either end eventually ill meet in the middle).

Okay but Buck doing everything physically possible to save Abbys fiance because he’s that bitch and then shit goes wrong and for a moment it looks like both him and the fiancee are dead and obvs abby is losing it but theN EDDIE IS LOSING IT AS WELL AND BOBBY IS HOLDING HIM BACK AS HE SCREAMS FOR BUCK 

and then Buck and fiance appear with Buck grinning like the dumb puppy he is and fiance gets handed off to Hen and Chim and everyones okay and it’s all great

and then theres a quiet moment where Buck and Abby get to talk now the chaos is over. Buck sliding up to her in the hospital or something and he’s feeling awkward as shit but they have their little closure talk and Abby is all “thank you for saving them” and Buck is all jokey and

“So did I earn myself an invite to the wedding?” and then it gets all awkward for a moment because oop Abby is getting married and Buck is alone and  Abby goes to speak but Buck is all “It’s okay, Abby, I’m really glad you’re happy” 

and AHHHHHHHH okay and Abby is all “ME TOO” AND “EDDIE SEEMS REALLY NICE” BECAUSE SHE TALKED TO HIM AT THE CRASH AND THEN SAW HIM LOSE HIS SHIT WHEN HE THOUGHT BUCK WAS GONE AND IS LIKE OH YEAH THEY DATING.

AND BUCK Like, okay, buck admits they’re not dating but has his like epiphany moment of “i am happy though. Even without that kind of relationship, i have my family” but something Abby says about him and Eddie gets to him and you get a look as she walks away to go into her fiances room or whatever when you see Buck all like considering and shit

aND THEN!! We get May’s graduation party and Michael has a date booked with hot doctor and Athena’s home safe and bitching about the lack of a fireplace and Hen has decided not to become a doctor (she is not leaving okay it can’t happen, i want her to follow her dreams but stay with me Hen) And Buck and Eddie have a couple too many drinkies because it’s been a longass few weeks

and tipsy Buck goes outside to have a moment to himself and after a moment Eddie follows him out and they have some soft banter bullshit before Eddie asks how he is about Abby’s return and everything and Buck looks back into the party where you have all the happy family/couples being adorable and Buck smiles and says he’s okay and looks to Eddie who is all like flushed cheeks from the alcohol and smiling and

“Good, you deserve to find someone, i’m sorry it wasn’t Abby” or whatever and he just!! he looks so soft and lovely and the look comes back where Bucks like “oh shit.” and he just leans forwards and kisses Eddie all sweet and soft and quick in the moonlight and then pulls back and Eddie is wide eyed and Buck licks his lip in that nervous way he does and Eddie lets out a little croaking 

“Buck-” 

anD THEN SOMEONE CALLS THEM IN TO CUT THE CAKE NOT KNOWING WHAT JUST HAPPENED AND BUCK QUICKLY GOES IN AND EDDIE FOLLOWS AND MAY IS THERE ALL HAPPY AND CUTTING HER CAKE AND EVERYONE IS CHEERING AND THEN THERE’S JUST BUCK AND EDDIE ON OPPOSITE SIDES SHOOTING EACHOTHER LOOKS AND THE SEASON ENDS AND WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR SEASON 4 AND

3x16 thoughts

 Okay I have a lot of thoughts about this episode, but I wanna focus on this interview Oliver did with TVLine first. And this is really long, so everything’s under the cut.

So this first question, when Oliver responds, “Often the people with the biggest smiles can be struggling the most.” is so true and something the fandom, I know, has recognized pretty much from the pilot episode. Especially with all the trauma Buck has been through, his lack of therapy, his obvious abandonment issues- he’s had a smile on through pretty much all of it. He’s always seemed to bounce back so easily and I think it’s a little refreshing to finally have that acknowledged that like, yeah, Buck has been struggling and he’s done a good job at denying it to himself/hiding it.

Then in the second part of his answer, Olliver says, “-they’re not really ‘his’ people. He doesn’t have anyone else who’s ‘his’, and everyone else in the firehouse does have that person, that crutch.” I think it’s really important that this was finally addressed in the show. Oliver actually just tweeted out, “Of course Buck has Eddie and the rest of the 118. They are his family. But they also all have people outside of the firehouse and away from him. Buck is the only on where if you took away his colleagues... he’d be alone.”

THIS IS WHAT THE FANDOM HAS BEEN SAYING FOR *AGES* AND ITS FUCKING NICE TO FINALLY BE VALIDATED ON THIS FRONT

And yes, of course, Buck has Maddie, his sister, but again, it was brought up she’s already left him twice. And yeah, she came back and he’s not mad, but lemme tell ya, when people leave you like that-no matter the reason why-it leaves a hole in your chest and a feeling that will never go away, it’ll always be in the back of your mind, whispering, “but what if they decide I’m not good enough again, and leave?”

Buck doesn’t really have a family outside the 118 to lean on and it breaks my heart.

Then, the interviewer address the question, does his co-workers know he’s been feeling this way? And Oliver’s answer is heartbreaking. Because he’s right. His family has their own families, their own problems, their own worries-- they don’t necessarily have time or remember to think to check in on Buck. This really makes my fingers itch to write something because this is raising red flags for Buck’s recovery during the incident with the firetruck, the embolism, the tsunami. How often was he forgotten because his family got busy? Or assumed he was fine, when really he just wished he had a shoulder to cry on or a friend to lean on? It hurts different when you realize the family you have forgets about you, even if it wasn’t on purpose. (check in on your friends, guys, reach out, especially now)

FAMILY ISSUES! FINALLY! So it was a bit of a shock to hear Maddie left Buck twice (which means buck found her after she left him with their parents and before things got bad with doug and i need to know MORE). Oliver mentions in his response that “there are a lot of family ussues that we’ll hopefully get into at some point.” uh, HELLO??? Combine that with “bad parents but not bad people” Buckleys and this is turning into a Buck Begins episode I *desperately* need. And like I mentioned earlier, I still believe theres always gonna be that fear that Maddie’s gonna leave him again, no matter how irrational, because when something hurts you that much, you don’t get over it easily, if at all.

So, shush, I like Abby’s character. TBH, I didn’t entirely dislike her relationship with Buck in season 1 either. However, I am glad that Oliver addressed that Buck has moved on from her, as much as he can. I’m glad she’s coming back to give him some closure because he deserves it, damnit. Oliver said, “So he’s not waking up and pining over her, but there are questions that have led to some doubt about his self-worth.” And as much as this breaks my heart, I’m not surprised.

If people keep leaving you behind, it doesn’t take long to start to doubt your self-worth, wonder what’s so wrong with you that no one can ever seem to stay for you.

And, back to the episode, I think the pool scene really highlighted how the team doesn’t realize how lonely Buck is. They all (aside from Eddie) almost seemed to shrug off his concerns, not doing a *whole* lot to reassure him, until Bobby’s firm words at the end of the conversation. I think it shed a little light onto how worried Buck is about being alone, being left alone, being left behind by the people he loves *again*. I hope that after this, in the next few epiosdes and next season, we get a little more of the team being there for Buck. Because Buck has been there for *everyone*, even total strangers, and it’d be nice to see the favor returned from someone than just Eddie for once.

Jeez, wow, okay, so there’s my thoughts on that. I’ll probabaly have more to scream about later, feel free to drop in my asks and scream with me.

1.

Eddie woke to a delicious aroma filling the house. Buck was in the kitchen making pancakes. He looks so good. He always does, but Eddie loves the way he looks in his kitchen, and bedroom, and living room, just every room in the house feels more like home with Buck in it.

“Morning babe.” Buck smiled. “Hope you’re hungry.”

“Starving.” Eddie smirked before kissing Buck.

Eddie licked his lips. “Yum blueberry.”

“Ok. Let et me these off the burner, then you can kiss me as much as you want.” Buck smiled.

“I don’t know I mean I love kissing you, but your pancakes are delicious.” Eddie laughed.

Buck placed the pancakes on a plate and Eddie was immediately kissing Buck again.

“Pancakes can be reheated but you’re so hot right now I don’t wanna miss this chance. It’s not every morning we have the house to ourselves.” Eddie said before deepening their kiss and dragging Buck to the couch.

Buck was making dinner for his two favorite people. Chris and Eddie.

“Dad this smells so much better than your spaghetti and theres no smoke.” Chris giggled.

“Hey! I try my best.” Eddie smiled.

“It’s ok dad we have Buck to take care of us now.” Chris smiled. “You can’t cook but you give the best hugs.”

“He’s right...about both.” Buck grinned as he came up behind Eddie wrapping his arms around him tightly.

Eddie was sick and he heard a lot of noise from the kitchen. Eventually Buck appaeared in the bedroom doorway with a tray.

“I made you some soup. Can you try to eat a little?” Buck smiled.

“Can you feed me.” Eddie said softly.

“I’d do anything for you. Of course.” Buck sat perched on the side of the bed spoon feeding Eddie some soup.

“Thank you.” Eddie said with a soft smile.

“Ok now get some rest I’ll be here if you need anything.”

“Thanks, love you.” Eddie nodded.

“Love you too.”

Eddie parents were coming to town and Buck was meeting them for the first time.

He decided on chicken, corn, and potatoes. Buck was really nervous.

“Wow this boy is a keeper mijo.” Ramon smiled.

“Yes. He is not only so sweet, but he’s a great cook.” Helena nodded.

“My thoughts exactly. Good to know there’s someone taking care of our son and grandson.” Ramon said patting Bucks shoulder.

“Always sir.” Buck nodded.

“Please call me Ramon.”

“Yes sir...I mean Ramon.” Buck smiled.

Eddies swore his heart skipped a beat. Chris was sitting on the counter dancing. While Buck had a bowl of batter in one arm and a wooden spoon. He was alternating between stirring and using it as a microphone.

Eddie stood there staring frozen in love.

“Dad. Are you ok?” Chris giggled.

“Yeah. Just wondering why you two are having all this fun and didnt invite me.” Eddie pretended to be offended.

Eddie walked over and removed the bowl from Bucks hand and spun him around before dipping him and giving him a soft kiss.

“Ew.” Chris said.

“What?? Buck wanted some sugar.” Eddie said

“I’d have preferred the cookies.” Buck joked earning a cheer from Chris.

“Hmm I’ll remember that later when you’re begging.” Eddie whispered in Bucks ear causing him to blush.

Buck walked into Eddies smoke filled kitchen. The sound of the smoke detector going off and a pan with something chared and smoking in the sink.

“What are you doing?” Buck laughed.

“It’s nothing.” Eddie frowned.

“Hey it’s ok.” Buck smiled.

“I wanted to do something nice to treat you. Show how much I love you and I can’t even do that with out ruining it.” Eddie sighed.

“I can think of plenty of ways for you to treat me that don’t involve you cooking. Although many of them are hot.” Buck wiggled his eyebrows.

Eddie still seemed unhappy.

“Hey it’s ok. You’re better with the grill than I am, and your coffee always is better which I don’t get how I mess up coffee it’s pretty easy. So basically our talents combined make a full functioning adult and I think that’s really special. You’re better at laundry too...sorry again about turning all the whites pink.” Buck laughed.

“You’re right. We are pretty good together huh?” Eddie smiled.

“Perfect match.” Buck grinned.

With childhood secret, do you think theres anything that could be too much for buck to handle, that would negatively affect him/maddie relationship? Cause while I thought adoption, etc part of me wonders if too big of secerct for maddie to keep from buck

Okay, i’m not adopted. I don’t know what that’s like. sometimes I swear I was switched at birth, but also not a fact. 

oh shit what if Maddie found out that Buck was switched at birth while she was working as a nurse?! check that shit! what if Maddie came across Buck’s medical records while she was working, and it turns out he was switched at birth, and not even their parents knew!!!!!!! so she shut the fuck up about it all these years!!!!!

okay not likely so moving on.

um adoption seems the most likely for me. if it’s not some kind of childhood trauma. but like what kind of childhood trauma would Maddie keep from Buck.

do I think there’s something too big for Buck to handle... I want to say no. I really do bc he’s going on 30 now when we’re getting this storyline so I want to say that no there’s nothing that he couldn’t handle as far as learning stuff about himself goes.

I do think there is stuff that Maddie thinks that Buck might not be able to handle simply bc she’s so protective of him, but as far as stuff Buck can or can’t actually handle? ... i don’t know...

and as far as negatively affecting their relationship.... ehhhhhh I think that Buck might think whatever it is could negatively affect their relationship, but I think they’re a lot stronger than that, and I really think that even if whatever it is has them on the rocks for a while, that their relationship will mend and will heal.

Under Pressure: The Sequel - Chapter 1 - Eddie/Buck

Things in their relationship is moving forward and Buck is happy. He is also scared. Could it be too good to be true? And it seems the universe still has a few things to throw at him and Eddie, complicating things further.

Buck stared at Eddie as he walked across the room and headed to were they kept their toys and equipment. ”Sir?” Buck asked quietly. ”I won’t do it again, please I don’t want a paddle” Buck whined as Eddie looked for something. ”Oh don’t worry, you’re not getting a paddle” Eddie said as he grabbed what he was looking for. It was a little black bag. Spotting it Buck whined and shook his head, whilst Eddie sat down on he bed and beckoned Buck over. ”Sir please” He begged as he walked over and dropped down on his knees so Eddie couldn’t put it on. ”I don’t want to wear it” He said as Eddie got it out of the bag, dismantled it and put all the pieces on the bed. Eddie put his hand out. ”Buck, get up” he said sternly and reached for Buck’s hand to get him to stand up.

”Noo” Buck whined and looked up at Eddie. ”I don’t like it” he said and pushed Eddie’s hand away. ”Buck, you’re not supposed to like it. It’s a punishment. Now stand up” Eddie commanded. Buck shook his head and put his head against Eddie’s knee. ”Want a spanking in stead” he whined. ”You don’t get to decide your punishment, that’s not how this work. Right now you only need to wear it for 24 hours, if you continue to not obey you’ll have to wear it longer and we’ll add on punishments to this. Now be a good boy for me and stand up” Buck let out a little cry and pouted as he looked up at Eddie. He did nothing but raise an eyebrow at Buck.

”Please, Sir, I don’t need to wear it, I won’t do it again” Buck whined as he slowly stood up and put his hands in front of his crotch. ”Buck, put your hands behind your back” Eddie ordered. Buck stomped his foot and whined loudly as he put his hands away. As Eddie started undoing his pants, Buck squirmed and sniffled. ”Sir, please don’t put it on” he whimpered and took an awkward step back seeing as his pants and briefs were around his ankles. ”Buck” Eddie warned him. ”You will now wear it for two days, would you like to add another day?” he asked.

Buck shook his head as he whimpered and cried. ”I don’t want to wear it at all!” he sniffled. He shuffled his legs and stepped out of his pants. He bit his lip as he watched Eddie. ”Buck. Come here” Eddie ordered. ”No! I don’t want to wear it so I’m not going to!” Buck snapped at him and gave him a quick glare. He breathed quickly as he watched Eddie stand up, he shuffled back until he hit the wall and he whimpered as Eddie stood right in front of him.

Eddie grabbed the back on Buck’s neck and held him firmly. ”Excuse me? Can you repeat that please?” Eddie asked in a low tone. Buck shook his head quickly. ”No? Do you remember talking about how this relationship is going to work?” Eddie asked seriously. Buck nodded, still keeping his gaze down. ”Then you should also remember how we talked about listening, being respectful and following the rules, no?” Buck whimpered and squirmed under Eddie’s grip and hard stare. ”I just didn’t want to wear it” Buck managed to say in a quiet whisper. ”This isn’t always about what you want but what you need. Now you’ve earned yourself a second punishment tonight” Eddie told him and Buck let out a sob.

”Theres your original punishment for touching yourself that was being locked up in the chastity cage for one day, that you increased to three days with your protesting. And there’s your added punishment for being a disrespectful brat that will include 15 minutes in the corner, a spanking and you’ll write a letter apologizing to me and yourself for your behavior. Understand?” Buck sobbed as he nodded. ”Are you going to act like a brat or be good boy?” Eddie asked and tilted Buck’s head up so he would have to look him in the eye. ”A good boy!” Buck cried as he rubbed his eye and sniffled. Eddie nodded. ”Okay, undress and go find your spot in the corner” Eddie let go off Buck’s neck and took a small step back, just enough so Buck had place to take his t-shirt off.

Eddie crossed his arms over his chest and watched closely as Buck walked over to his corner and leaned against it. Now that Buck couldn’t see him Eddie couldn’t help a little smile on his lips as he picked up Buck’s clothes and put them over a chair. Buck was a cute brat and he was glad that he trusted him enough to show him that side of himself.

”Alright, times up, come lie down” Eddie said as Buck’s fifteen minutes in the corner was up. Buck wasn’t really crying anymore, just sniffling and breathing a bit shakily. Buck wasted no time in obeying this time though and walked straight over and lied down over Eddie’s lap. ”Why are you being punished?” Eddie asked as he stroked Buck’s bum gently. ”For being a brat and disobeying” Buck sniffled. ”Thats right” Eddie replied before quickly starting the spanking.

”Ow, ow, ow!” Buck sobbed as his ass was growing more warm and painful by each smack. ”Sir, I’m sorry! I’ll be good!” he cried as he kicked his feet slightly and reached back with his hand to try and rub his bum and maybe stop a few smacks from landing on his sore skin. ”Hold on, a few more” Eddie said, grasping Buck’s hand and keeping it still against his back whilst continuing the the spanking.

Tears were running down his cheeks as Eddie helped him sit up. Throwing his hands around Eddie, Buck sobbed as he continued to apologize. ”I’m sorry I was a brat, Sir, I won’t do it again” he cried. ”Oh baby, you totally are going to be a brat again” Eddie said softly and tried to not laugh as Buck pulled back offended. ”No, I won’t!” He whined. ”Baby, it’s okay, it’s natural and I’ve been waiting for it to happen a while. Some sub boys are that way. I was expecting this” Eddie explained and stroked Buck’s cheek. Buck looks down sad. ”You knew I’d be a bad boy?” he asked quietly and bit his lip to stop himself from crying.

”Buck, you are not a bad boy. That’s not what a brat is. You are a good boy, such a good boy for me and I’m so lucky to have you. A brat is a good boy who tests the limits now and again, to feel safe and reassured by them being enforced. Sometimes you’ll be able to stop yourself when you feel the need to be a brat but if you can’t, I will be there to handle you” Buck looked skeptical but did a little nod.

Eddie gave him a smile. ”You are a good boy, Buck” he reassured him and gave him a kiss. ”Can you stand up please, it’s time to put the cock cage on” he said and gave Buck’s hip a little squeeze. Sucking his lip in and bitting down on it, Buck sniffled as he stood up slowly. He watched as Eddie grabbed everything he needed. ”Okay, I’m going to start now, let me know if your skin gets pinched” Eddie said as he grabbed the base ring and pulled Buck a bit closer.

By the time Eddie was finished putting it on, Buck had tears running down his cheeks again. ”How long do I have to wear it, Sir? I can’t remember” He asked tearfully as Eddie inspected his handy work. ”Three days. Let’s say 6.30pm. Hopefully we won’t be on call but if we are we’ll take care of it when we get back to the station and everything has calmed down”

Whimpering, Buck brought his hands up to his face and pressed the heel of his hand to his eyes. Eddie shuffled up on the bed, took his t-shirt off and patted the bed. ”Come lie down baby” he said and held out his hand for Buck. ”Good boy” he said softly as Buck took his hand and crawled up on the bed and lied down with his head on Eddie’s arm. Shuffling around a bit, Eddie had about half his body on top of Buck, his foot between Buck’s and his face close to Buck’s.

”Shhh, you’re okay, I’ve got you” Eddie whispered calmly as Buck whimpered and squirmed. ”Calm down, baby” he whispered and reached up to grip the back of Buck’s neck. He gave it a squeeze before just holding it in a slight grip. Not too hard but not too soft. ”Close your eyes, focus on your breathing, the touch of my hand and the weight of my body on yours” Eddie whispered as he looked at Buck.

Eddie watched as Buck took a shaky breath and blink a few times before he let his eyes stay closed. ”Good boy, that’s it, just relax” Eddie said as he tightened his hold on Buck and pressed a kiss to Buck’s lips. As he continued to whisper his praise for Buck, Buck finally relaxed and slowly his breath evened out as he fell asleep. Getting comfortable, Eddie closed his eyes to try and get some sleep too.

Looking up as the bell rung, Buck quickly shoved the last piece of brownie into his mouth and put the glass of milk down on the table before following Chimney, Hen, Eddie and the rest of the crew down the stairs and into the firetruck. Getting into the seat next to Eddie he put his headset on and smiled. As they started driving, Buck stared outside.

Sniffling, he reached up and wiped his nose before looking at his hands confused. ”Wow, guys, I think my allergies are blowing up. Maybe they’re advancing” he mused and turned to look at Eddie. ”Did you look at the pollen prediction today? When I checked it said there wasn’t a lot of pollen but I feel like there’s a lot of pollen” Buck said and rubbed his eyes before squinting. ”Are you guys not feeling this? I can like see the pollen!” Buck said amazed as he looked outside.

Chim and Eddie looked at each other confused. ”You okay?” Eddie as  he looked at him. Buck nodded and smiled widely.

Jumping down from the steps on the truck, Buck chuckled as he thought of how nice it felt to be sitting next to Eddie. Eddie was wonderful. And so handsome. Smiling as he grabbed the bag of equipment, he hummed happily as he pulled out a pair of gloves and rolled them on as he followed the others into the building.

Spotting Athena arresting a woman, Buck looked around frowning. There was so much colour and so much noise. He took a quick step so he was closer to Eddie. His frown deepened as the crew stopped and he looked down. ”Uh oh” he whispered and raised his hands to his chest. His eyes widened as he saw Chim and Eddie walk away, he was all alone and in danger now. Gulping, Buck looked at the colors in front of him and tried to analyze it all. Gasping, he stood up straight and grasped his bag as he leaned back a bit to try and protect himself.

”Did these beauty queens shrink or are we suddenly giants?” He asked confused and turned to look at Hen that was supposed to be beside him. Stumbling around in a circle as Hen was gone, Buck turned his terrified gaze back to the little humans.

”I think he means you guys!” Athena said appearing out of no where again, the woman she’d been arresting was gone. Buck looked at her wide eyed. ”Hi Athena! These are the tiniest little ladies I’ve ever seen. Teeny tiny!” He said and held up his fingers to show her how small they were. ”Excuse me?” Athena asked. ”So tiny” he whispered and looked down at them again.

”Henrietta!” Athena shouted making Buck jump slightly. ”Thena!” Hen shouted happily and stepped over. She gasped. ”Oh you smell like love” She said softly and closed her eyes as she sniffed the air. Buck wrinkled his nose, he couldn’t smell anything. Was his nose broken? ”Chimney! Eddie! I need you guys over here!” Athena shouted as she looked back at them.

Turning around, Buck grabbed the balloon and gave it a sniff. No, his nose wasn’t broken, he could smell the balloon just fine. Obviously it was Hen’s nose that was broken. Giggling as he punched the balloon and watched it bounce into the other balloon his mouth opened and stared at it fixated. They were so pretty.

”Guys, look at me! You know where you are?” Chimney asked sharply causing Buck to turn around quickly, tangling himself up in the balloons. ”Im stuck” he pouted and tried to break free from the balloons. ”Help!” He shouted as he headed a balloon and it came right back and attacked him. He could hear Hen crying and he would help but he was busy fighting his own war.

”Hey, hey, hey” Buck looked up and stopped punching balloons as he heard Eddie speak. ”M stuck” Buck whined and looked at Eddie sadly. ”I’m going to get you out okay? How are you feeling?” Eddie asked as he started to untangle Buck from the string of balloons. ”I feel stuck! Thats what I feel!” Buck snapped and grunted as he punched one of the ballots hard.

”Enough! Stop moving  and calm down” Eddie said firmly. Buck immediately stopped moving and looked at Eddie wide eyed. Getting Buck free, he led him over to the entrance and away from the public next to where Hen, Chimney and Athena were. ”Guys, we have to put these on you okay? Its for yours and everyone else protection” Athena said as she reached for her handcuffs.

”I don’t want to go to jail, I haven’t done anything” Buck sniffled as Athena brought his hands behind his back and cuffed him. ”Please, I don’t want to go” He cried and hung his head sadly. ”You’re not going to jail, Buckaroo. We just need to take you to the hospital to get you checked out and find out what you guys have been dosed with” Athena said as she borrowed the handcuffs of another officer and cuffed Hen as well.

As Athena grabbed his arm, Buck whimpered. ”No, no, no, Eddie please, don’t let her take me, please!” Buck cried and tugged  himself free from Athena’s grip and leaned against Eddie. Eddie took a deep breath and sighed at the confused looks his coworkers, minus Hen, was sending him. ”Can’t we drive them? We’ve been taken offline anyway” Eddie suggested as he patted Buck on the shoulder and gave it a squeeze. Athena looked at Chimney who shrugged. ”I mean he’s right” he said. ”Sure. Go on, drive them to the hospital, I’ll radio it in” Athena said and handed Chimney the keys for the handcuffs.

Getting Hen secured at the head of the ambulance, Eddie put Buck next to him before giving Chim the ready to go signal. ”You guys feeling okay still?” Eddie asked as he glanced at the two. Hen gave him a happy grin and a nod. ”So good” she replied. ”I want you to hold me” Buck mumbled and pouted as he pressed as close he could to Eddie. Hen chuckled as Eddie brought his hand around Buck’s shoulder. ”How long?” She asked as Buck closed his eyes and leaned into Eddie’s hold. ”How long what?” Eddie asked and looked at her. ”How long have you been dating?” She clarified with a smug happy grin. Eddie chuckled and looked down at Buck. He was silent for a moment. ”Five months” he replied and looked up at Hen who gasped. ”Chimney! They’ve been dating for five months!” She shouted excited. ”Wait, wait, wait, what?” Chimney shouted back. ”I think you’re math sucks, you’ve only been on the job for four months” Chim replied and glanced in the rear view mirror.

Eddie chuckled and shrugged. ”Your math is correct but so is mine” He said. ”I have so many questions right now!” Chimney said as he pulled up to the hospital. Eddie laughed some more. Hen was just sitting there blinking. ”We’re here” Chim said as he turned off the engine and got out of the car.

An hour and a half later Hen had been picked up by Karen, Chim had driven back to the station with the ambulance and Eddie was riding in a taxi with Buck. The man was more awake now. ”Is Christopher home?” Buck asked as he rubbed his wrists where the cuffs had been. ”No, he’s with Shannon remember” Eddie said as he looked at Buck. ”Awwww, but I want to see him” Buck whined and pouted. Eddie chuckled. ”He’s coming over on Friday and he’ll be over for two weeks then, you can see him then” Buck still pouted but it was a tiny bit smaller.

”Do you think there’s someone at the station who doesn’t know we’re dating by now?” Buck mused as he grabbed Eddie’s hand and stroked it. Eddie chuckled at Buck’s actions before shaking his head. ”No I’m sure Hen and Chim have been able to tell or text everyone by now. You okay with that?” Eddie asked. Buck grinned as he nodded. ”Mhmm cause I love you and now they know it. And they found out by you taking care of me so that’s the best way cause you’re always taking care of me and making sure I’m good” Buck rambled. Eddie was about to respond when Buck suddenly gasped and sat up.

”We have ice cream sandwiches in the freezer! Can I have one?! Please!! Pretty please!” Buck begged as he looked at Eddie wide eyed and pleading. Eddie groaned silently before nodding. ”Yeah, you can have one” He replied and shook his head. The munchies was kicking in then. He glanced at his watch. Only 2-3 hours before the worst of it should be over. Looking over at Buck who was doing a happy dance singing about ice cream sandwiches, he hoped the hours would go by quickly.

”Oh and Sir! Its passed 6.30pm” Buck grinned and patted his crotch. ”I can be free” he shouted, switching his song from ice cream to cock cages. ”Oh god” Eddie groaned. He made sure to tip the taxi driver well before ushering Buck inside.

I was talking to Juju last night. I got another full circle moment for ya.

So we know the Lucy of it all if gonna be revealed and has to contribute to relationship decisions being made. But what if…

Big fight. Taylor finds out. Makes a scene cause she’s angry and says not nice things to Buck in front of Lucy and others.

The dust settles. Taylor’s gone. And they are all just standing there and Lucy says “wow that’s not the way you talk to someone you love.”

And we’ll have another moment where Lucy’s words or experiences are used to show Buck what he needs to do…

I think we were all talking to Juju last night - I chatted with @loveyourownsmiilee a fair bit as well - especially about the grey shirt repeat of it all!

I am very much in the Lucy reveal leads to a big showdown club. I'm intrigued by the idea of it being in front of Lucy and her making a comment on it ngl. How that could play out - not sure. theres a part of me that actually would enjoy Buck and Lucy reaching a point where they can 'joke' about the kiss and what a mistake it was but also for Lucy to not be aware that Taylor doesn't know - make a comment when they meet but for Taylor to have to remain civil because of it being in a professional environment (May Day at the dispatch fire is my preference). Then Taylor has it out with Buck at the loft - because there is a reason we've barely seen her elsewhere this season and I just feel that become so symbolic of everything that is wrong with the relationship and how much they're trying to force something that doesn't work (open plan living not a good thing for two people who are in a relationship for the wrong reasons and thus cannot get any space from each other!!). it will be all 'we said no more lies' etc etc and Buck will come back with 'yo said you didn't want to know etc etc' and we'll end up with this stalemate which I think will spill over into Hero Complex - maybe they agree to give each other some space for a couple of days because Buck will be looking after Chris while Eddies in Texas and Taylor knows about it - wasn't happy intially but is now grateful for the space it will give them while they 'work through it'

I can see Buck going into work the next day and telling the fire fam about this row that they had - Maybe Lucy corners him somewhere a bit later, I'm not sure, but - then yes she makes a comment like you said 'thats not how you treat someone you love' - and it can be taken both ways - both Buck and Taylor can be at fault Taylor for whatever she's done (because bonus points if she goes all ethical conflict!!) and said, and Buck because he hadn't been fully upfront with Taylor etc. And if Lucy then makes some comment about it not being heroic to stay in a relationship thats not working or 'sparking joy' that they can be complex but it shouldn't feel like you have to put in that much work - with some of her own experience thrown in - then we're really going to see the good stuff!

Because all of this has to happen while Eddie is in Texas - I truly believe that the break up has to happen before Eddie is back (at the end of 5x17) so that it can build into the idea of starting over and the parallel of both Buck and Eddie dealing with the big (relevant) thing in their life at the same time would be wonderful!

buck heads to the beach one night after a really stressful shift for a relaxing midnight swim

heading to the beach after a really rough day is kind of Routine for him at this point. hes found his own Spot on the beach where theres hardly ever anyone there, even if its in the middle of the day

he swims out to this rock formation in the water, just kinda sits there and stares out at the night sky as he just kind of sorts through his thoughts

then out of NOWHERE, sb next to him says “whats with those scars on your chest?” buck screams. the voice screams. buck looks over and sees a dude resting his elbows on the rock next to him, and maybe its just dark and bucks imagining things, but he swears this dude has gills and scales on his arms

after the initial shock, buck ends up talking to this dude and getting to know him a little bc he figures like. why not. if he gets murdered by this stranger, he gets murdered

this dude is weird tho. at some point, buck scoots over to make room for the dude to sit next to him, but he refuses, says hes fine where he is

buck finds out this dudes name is eddie and that hes not from around here, but thats about all this guy seems keen on sharing

the next morning, he talks to maddie about the dude

“So, I met someone last night,” Buck says, still a little confused and shocked from the night before.“Oooh, someone’s moving on from Abby!” Maddie says smugly as she passes Buck to pour herself a cup of coffee. “What kind of someone, huh?”“A... not human someone,” Buck replies hesitantly. He can feel Maddie’s eyes staring a confused hole into the back of his head.“Excuse me? Did you meet a dog or something?”“No! It’s just...” Buck sighs, runs a hand down his face and turns to lean back against the counter as he sorts through his thoughts. “It looked like a human, y’know? And, I don’t know, maybe it was just dark and I was tired, but it looked like he had, y’know... Gils. And scales. I don’t know. And he acted really weird, too. He said he’s ‘not from around here’.”“Huh,” Maddie says, clearly trying to decipher whether or not Buck’s lying to her or not. “Weird.”“Yeah, that’s one way to put it.”

buck ends up heading to the same spot on the beach at the same-ish time every night for like a week, trying to find the eddie dude again, but he always seems to not be around

then one day, after a shift that really fucked him up, hes sitting on that same rock with his face buried in his knees and sobbing when suddenly, a soaking wet body is sitting next to him and pulling him into their side

when buck finally manages to calm down enough to look over at whos next to him, hes. shocked, to say the least, when he sees a shiny, emerald green tail right next to him. and then he looks up more and sees that its the eddie dude from before. and he really should have half a mind to freak tf out bc oh my god, mermaids are real???? but this guys arms are so warm and comforting and he had such an awful day and he’ll take all the comfort he can get right now

I can't stop thinking about Buck x Eddie x Shannon so here are some hcs that nobody asked for :)

So Eddie and Shannon are trying to work things out but Shannon notices things are off

And like yeah she knew things would be different, they have to rebuild trust and all that, but theres something else she can't quite put her finger on

Meanwhile Buck is coming around pretty often and they actually hit it off spectacularly

(Shannon is almost a little jealous at how much Christopher loves him but he never oversteps, he just fits in nicely)

Anyways one day she notices that whatever is toned down in Eddie when it's just the two of them is there in spades when Buck is around and it clicks. Eddie is in love with Buck.

She waits until Christopher is in bed and Buck goes home and sits down with Eddie

"So how long have you been in love with Buck?"

And Eddie's sputtering bc he only recently realized himself but he's been trying to squash the feeling bc actually things with Shannon have been going really well

"I swear nothing happened. Nothing will happen. You know I wouldn't do that to you."

And shannon's like "but what if I was okay with it?"

Eddie: ??!?¿¡¿

Eddie: wait are you breaking up with me?

Shannon: no like. We continue doing our thing. But also you can date Buck.

Eddie: this feels like a trap

Shannon: I love you and I want you to be happy. Buck clearly makes you happy. You basically put your love life on hold for 2 years and I dont want you to miss out on anything else because of me

Aaaanyways Buck and Eddie start dating and Buck and Shannon bond even closer over their mutual love for Eddie

Eventually they start doing things as a throuple but it's never just Buck x Shannon

(The two of them went on a date once to try it and it wasn't bad but it wasn't something they felt the need to do again)

And Christopher absolutely loves having three parents who all adore the shit out of him

YEs!!! YES I DO!!!

So I think Maddie and Chim are like sorta together after everything that goes down in the hospital, but its not perfect. Theres something they’re still dancing around and need to let out, but they cant figure it out. 

Since they never got their first date, when it gets closer Chim asks Maddie to be his plus one.

“We never really got a real first date. So, I was thinking…do you wanna be my date to the wedding? We can make it official?”

So of course Maddie says yes, and Chim really makes it official by picking her up and getting her flowers. (He won’t tell, but Chim feels like hes gonna puke until their safely in his car on the way there, Maddie’s flowers in a vase at her house.)

The wedding is spectacular, and everyone cries, and the reception is at the firehouse, and Bobby and Athena’s radiant love is fucking infectious.

Maddie asks Chim to dance and they bust out their weirdest moves to some pop music until a slow song comes on. They kinda freeze for a sec until Maddie just pulls Chim in close and they just forget everyone else is even there as they sway to the music.

Maddie realizes how much she really wants to kiss Chim, because they haven’t since the hospital, but she doesn’t wanna do it in front of all his friends and coworkers, so once the song is over they slip off to somewhere private.

They talk about how they’ve both been recovering and how things probably will never be easy, but thats okay. Chim still wants to make sure he’s not pushing her, and Maddie says she’s scared of losing him. Chim tells her he isn’t going anywhere, and for the first time Chim takes the initiative and pulls Maddie in and kisses her.

It get’s heated because wow she wants Chimney in every single way she can have him, and for a second she’s worried if he feels the same or not, but then he pulls her in even tighter and yep, he wants this too.

They both know they they can’t leave the wedding because it’s Bobby and Athena dammit and they don’t wanna ditch on them just because they’re horny. 

So they decide to keep things calm and relaxed and enjoy the rest of the night. They break off and hang with Hen and Buck and Eddie and just kinda keep their distance. 

Once people start to drift off and say their goodbyes, Maddie and Chim hightail it out of there, Maddie telling Buck she’d see him later (something is clearly going down between him and Eddie though, so she assumes he has other things to worry about.)

They get back to Chims place and start making up for lost time, because if they had realized they could’ve been doing this instead of dancing around each other for the last 2 months, they would’ve. 

After everything at the end of the night, when they’re cuddled up in bed together, Chim asks if this means they’re official now.

“Are you asking if I can be your girlfriend?” “Okay when you say it like that it makes us sound like teenagers.” “Chim I’m teasing.” “I know, I know. But I’m serious.” “As long as I can say you’re my boyfriend.” 

And they smile and laugh because sure they sound like teenagers, but who cares, they’re happy.

He still have moments where he still blame himself, even when multiple people told him it wasnt his fault.

Sometimes he wakes up with heartaches and wounds  he thought were healed up 6 years later painfully reopened with a memory to that night, words that were spoken, what ifs playing in his head.

4 years ago, he would drink until the line between living and dying became a blur, to punish himself. That same year he decided drinking was too much.

2 years ago, he kept it hidden from everyone except for himself. He would go out once he reached that number. That ended with people finding out anyway.

Buck doesn't know why his whole family have been around him today.

He doesn't mind the touching or the attention from everyone. It's really nice to be honest.

But lately they've been a little....wolfish.

Like this morning when he was saying good morning to the new recruits and chatting with them. He had an answer to a very interesting question on the tip on his tongue when he felt someone clap on his back. 

It was Eddie, but with a very weird look on his face. Not really angry but it wasn't really happy either. "Hey Buck, you're late to working out."

He did forget, so he turned to say goodbye to the people but they were gone.

He thought it was weird but he didn't pay no mind to it and went about to work out.

And then the chief of the 477 came along to visit. He was a new chief just looking to see what kind of place Los Angeles was.

He saw Buck and started chatting with him, admiring how hardworking he was. Which was flattering.

"We could use someone like you on the force upstate son."

Oh. He was just looking for recruits. *Wait, can he do that?*

Before he could ask that, he felt someone wrap a arm around him and drag him into a hug from behind.

"Um...hey, Bobby." Buck said surprised at the Captain being this clingy. "um...this is my captain Bobby Nash."

He splayed out on the ground, arms and legs wide and loose.

"Day off, so I literally got all night with you."

His friend only huffed and went to the other side of him, kicking the ground back and forth.

The wind picked up lightly, slighting going through his jacket and sending shivers down. He honestly didn't know what he was doing right now, or what directionn he should go from here. Was he talking him down, or just being a friend? The lines blur sometimes....

He sighs in thought. This is going nowhere.

Tiredness started creeping in, and he slowly starts regretting coming out here with his friend to talk about feelings.

So...he started talking. To keep himself awake.

"So...you heard any good shows out?" He heard the slur his voice took. "Theres this one show called...Some'm."

He heard a small laugh. "I'm sorry I don't remember the name, it's been awhile. I remember these about some wild story about the small town that has this big old wild mystery and knowing that I remember about it is like this kid has this mask. Which is pretty creepy if you ask me."

"Are you describing doctor who?"

The one thing Buck did not expect to see when he walked into the fire station is his Captain running from another guy full speed.

Hen grabbed him by the arm, shaking her head. "He's fine, but it's a long story..."

The pile of paperwork daunted his view.

He knew this was all part of the procedure, and that he should be used to this after 20 plus years but it still sends dread down his back.

It doesn't get any easier writing down different forms: forms of release of transfer, accidents and other things..

After while they all blur and it gets tiring.

They got into an argument earlier that day according to Han, and it got pretty bad. His voice was still sore from the yelling. So he wasn't surprised when they told him (after calming the pilot down) that he was probably hiding and not suddenly kidnapped.

They spent hours the next day across the desert and throughout the city. Luke and Leia both felt his presence but barely. He was close somewhere, but hidden purposely.

Tired, they drugged back to their home, Han seemly miles away from them.
