oh man ALL THE TIME. i actually frequently have to stop mid-fic and switch whatever i’m writing on bc my brain is stuck. i’ll start in my notes app sometimes, but i get stuck there SO fast, and switching to laptop only helps sometimes. what i usually need to do, and this is weird and embarrassing as shit, is text fics to my friend in instagram DMs 💀💀 the combined pressure of her literally watching me type and the character limit per message, forcing me to send and accept what i have, keeps me juuuuussstt stressed enough to finish. and sometimes i write on napkins or notebooks or my arm or whatever.

OH AND!! i got this advice from a veronica roth interview, which i’m even more embarrassed about but whatever, is to literally start over. she said her writing process is to write something, rip it up, and then start again, because then she knows which parts are important (bc those parts come up again in the second try). me personally i think that’s stupid as shit, so i never delete/destroy anything i write ever in case i can reuse it (and i have dozens of times), but the retrying advice is pretty sound tbh. if i’m stuck, i literally just stop, put the first draft away, and start a second one without even looking at the first one.

if neither of those work, i honestly leave the fic for a while. sometimes i return to it, sometimes it’s just not meant to be and it stays in my drafts forever. either way, don’t get too attached and don’t worry too much. you can write!

however if i’m stressing about posting before i go to bed and i truly cannot get ANYTHING to work, i write a random line of dialogue and see what happens from there.

“I told you to cut that out!”

DNI if you're fem and read my masc stuff with a fem perspective. you have plenty of fem!reader stuff, plus i write gn!reader often, read that. not the masc!reader stuff.

how does my tagging/labelling work?

tags -

i will always tag smut or any kinks!! this will be seen as cw smut, or for kinks cw biting (for example)

I've decided something

In my HPMA fic that I've mentioned thousands of times, I will incorporate some other users OCs into it, like Jordan, (courtesy of @avielex) who's a year older than Eli, gives him writing advice but finds him a little annoying. (it may or may not be a reference to my dms)

My favourite Weasleyposter is also included (aka @cherry-pop-elf) as, of course, George's spouse. (btw, is it okay if I call you Weasleyposter or Bella?)

I only write for Spencer Reid currently. In the future, I hope to expand to writing for some other characters but I'm in my Reid brainrot era currently, so I won't take other character requests.

I write smut, fluff and angst, so you need to specify which genre you want. I've noticed a lot of requests just give an idea. To help me get a better idea of what you want, please give me as much detail as possible.

👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about?

i have several fic ideas that have just petered out and i'm resigned to not finishing. it's not about not sharing them, it's about making peace with never finishing them. (i also have several fics i havent touched in months but im DETERMINED to get back to but that's a separate problem.)

one of those is, sadly, femdomverse 3 (and everything else i had planned). i have shared bits and pieces about it before, and it was going to be called "points present" bc she leaves a pair of her underwear as a ~treat~ for getting his first points ladkfjasldkfjaslkjf

i think my big problem with femdomverse was just down to teething problems. i wrote fdv1 on impulse in under 24hrs, i dont think i would've even finished fdv2 if i wasn't trapped in my appt with covid (thanks covid.) it sorta grew into a much larger idea than it started as and trying to figure out planning it out once i was already in the middle of it. i think it was a good lesson for really taking the time to think out longer projects fully before i post anything in the future.

but fdv still has such a place in my heart and its spirit lives on in my other girlfics!!!!

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

ooooooh gio for u. as a treat. i'll talk abt my sargewood fic idea. this doesn't really count as a wip yet bc i haven't written anything yet, BUT circling back to the first one, planning out longer forms fics is important for me in the writing process. i've only talked abt this with care in DMs so i guess this is its first proper public sharing.

so, it's an au where kyle never really got into racing, he and logan knew each other in carting but kyle's career petered out and he and logan fell of of touch. for logan, his career progresses as we know it irl, until he gets dropped at the end of the 2024 season and he ends up without any sort of drive, goes back to florida in a sort of career limbo. and runs into kyle again!!!!!

but!!!!! surprise!!!! kyle's a dad! (this was all thought up around this btw. i was like how do i make singledad!kyle as a concept into an actual story with substance.) kyle and a high school ex had a baby, kyle realized he was gay so they broke up, she's very very smart and got into law school or smth so she's off doing smart businesswoman shit and kyle is the primary parent who gets child support. (amicable coparenting!!! just to be clear!!!!)

so with all of logan's new free time he can spend all this time with kyle and his kid to the point where lines start to blur and he now has all this free time to unpack any feelings that might pop up. writing a chaptered fic would be so so daunting but i think it'd be a good challenge for me, i just rly need to sent aside time to rly work on outlining everything i want!

i'm not quite sure how to answer this question aldfjaslfjasldfja i'm big on. feeling morally neutral abt the fiction we all write. HOWEVER i do know that like, oscarmark is ~controversial~ and i do have this wip. that i havent touched in a while but i love the concept so much i still rly want to get back to at some point. the wip actually predates fdv and i originally was like 'oh i'll just anon post it i'm too embarassed' but now any embarassment abt the wierd shit i write is GONE lmao. i did talk abt it in the replies of this post and thats the most i've said about it before. it's really just a contrived silly little plot all just to set up oscar being fucked over the side of a boat. which is public sex technically which is also a crime. its v self indulgent its very For Me i hope i can take it out of wip purgatory someday :'(

now, story from the beginning.

i followed her with my now deleted old tumblr account, for quite some time actually. probably around january? i was very intimidated back then. like, very intimidated. she has something authorative about her that i can't quite explain, something that makes you want to get in her good grades. so i was keeping tabs on her blog and eventually used the way she talked about kylian to add to my perception of him to create his character, and i'd written a bunch of stories already. i saw her reply to an ask where she said she read my fics, and i was kind of nervous about it because well, her words made up part of my kylian and the way she analysed matches showed that she's pretty critical and logically thinking, and i desperately wanted to know her opinion. i eventually thought i should thank her for playing a part in the creation of my kylian, so i typed out an ask and wanted to send it. my dumb ass never really used tumblr like that before so i fucked it up and sent it to swaggy instead (because you two had this insane reblogging thing going on... it was a mess) who then passed it along to her (@swaggypsyduck sorry again for that!!) and she replied in this whole paragraph and then sent me the link in my comments.

i made this tumblr soon after and followed her, and she followed me back immediately and said hello and everything, but i didn't really talk to her. until she comes to my dms talking about ethan and kylian's bond because she watched a documentary about kylian in which he talked about ethan sleeping in his bed sometimes. that was the birth of the burden of being the little brother, because she kept going on and on and giving me more ideas until i had enough material to make a fic, so i did. that's the first fic that's hers.

and then basically she kept coming to me with little ideas or questions and i started writing snippets for her, and she started her word vomits (which are greatly missed. i want them back) and that was essentially all we talked about, apart from my habit of asking about her day etc until one fateful day that i decided to be a bitch answering dumb asks which got out of control and got us talking about other things and now here we are. here we are.

Hi! Pyre is not a commissioned work, its just something I've kinda of struggled/put off writing for a bit (namely the first chapter, guys the first chapter took me like a week to write by itself)

I've always said, if you have an idea that you'd like me to write you can always drop it in my requests when they reopen (hopefully soon), because I do feel a little guilty about making people pay for fics and what not. I've talked about maybe trying to start a patreon or something so people who wanted to could support me, but I have no idea what I'd put on there other then maybe doing like where patrons can send me requests even when my requests are closed or like their requests would get priority + maybe like early access to fics? But to be honest unless like a bunch of you guys are interested in something like that, I doubt its something I'll ever do.

Good morning!

I'm back, from the dead. Yes, this is sunshinebanjos, author of After Lifetimes without you who dramatically exited a few weeks ago. So. A little of what I think will be an FAQ

1) What happened?

Honestly, I don't know if you guys saw any of the posts I was forced to make. So. Quick summary.

My husband and I's marriage... Wasn't going great. I started an emotional affair with my best friend Sitch, who I met through the fic. Was this wrong? Yes. And I know that and so does he so... Don't like. Harrass him.

When my husband found out he deleted everything, or rather he made me delete everything. The fic, the discord, my socials. All of it. I spent half a week trying to forget all of it, and I thought I could but... I realized. This wouldn't solve my marriage. There were a lot of problems there from before.

At the end of the week, I left. I wanted my best friend back. And... All my other friends too.

Last night, we officially ended things.

2) So now what?

The server has been recreated and built upon by @caffeinatedreese I owe him a lot. The fic was recovered by various readers and posted there. Thankfully, I have also managed to recover my Google docs.

The server is as wonderful as I left it. I missed all of you. Truly. You have made this week bearable.

3) Okay, but what about the fic?

It IS posted on the server. And... When I start writing again I will post it again on Ao3. When will that day be? I don't know. I hope soon. I just... Need to feel safer about it.

And I'm going to write again soon. I might be posting on discord first for a little while. Just to get back in the swing of things and then on Ao3.

I would lie if I said that the stats didn't matter to me both as a writer and as a reader - I have seen very short but brilliant stories and lengthy DNF fics. Kudos/likes, as much as I appreciate them, are just one of the ways to let me know how you liked my story, but what matters the most, are comments (or DMs) where the readers tell me what scenes/characters/events and so on they liked the most (or what they didn't - I'm always open to constructive feedback btw!). If I know what my readers like, it's easier to come up with future fic ideas!

-> As it is a NSFW collab, all genres are allowed, INCLUDING dark content. That being said, minors, please please please DNI with this collab.

-> You don't have to be following me for this collab, but it's preferable (since it's a follower celebration collab), and I'd appreciate it if you don't unfollow me after everyone's posted <3

-> You can club your entry for this collab with other collabs as well <3

-> I accept character x reader, character x character, poly ships, love triangles, crossover ships (anime crossovers) , heck even selfships :D

-> All forms of writing are allowed (drabbles, fics, oneshots, headcanons, moodboards, etc)

-> No limit to word count, however, please do include a read more if your fic is 500+ words to avoid clogging the dashboard.

-> Multiple repeats of characters are possible, however, if they're repeated 4 times, then I'm locking them.

-> Exceptions: Tetsuro Kuroo (4 more slots open for him, but not Doctor Who!Kuroo), Ken Ryuguji ‘Draken’ (3 more slots open for Draken but not Divergent AU Draken or Hunger Games Draken) and Mitsuya (4 more slots open for him but not Hunger Games Mitsuya)

-> While the repetition of a character is allowed, it MUST be with a different au/role (Eg, once Doctor Strange!Satoru Gojo is locked, another entry on Doctor Strange!Satoru Gojo would not be accepted). Variety matters!

-> If you're including multiple characters in one story, the characters' entries are counted (love triangles especially)

-> When your entry is accepted, please reblog this post as much as you can.
