i know the whole "do you think jon ever used his powers to Know what his parents looked like" thing is far more devastating than this but what if he tried using his powers to remember original sasha? jon and sasha always seemed closer than the rest, he picked her (and tim) to work with him and tolerated a lot more nonsense from her than anyone else (using his password to access his computer [161], debating his pronunciation of calliope [25], etc)

and ofc jon and martin became significantly closer as the podcast went on, but in the beginning he was cruel to martin when he gave a statement but accepting of sasha? idk i think their friendship was a lot deeper than we realized (ESPECIALLY since his first murder in season 5 was because NotThem provoked him about sasha) and i think jon wouldve used his powers to Know the original sasha, not sure if it wouldve worked though

something I’ve been thinking abt is how many people think Makoto is immune to despair. I don’t think he is. I think becoming the ultimate Hope was BECAUSE he felt despair. He wouldn’t have fully reached that point without Junko. Makoto becoming such a beacon was his last attempt to avoid completely falling and it wasn’t because he didn’t feel despair, it was because he was too damn stubborn to allow everything to go to waste and he refused to sacrifice his beliefs for someone else’s. His inner monologue tells me he DID experience the same new low the other suvivors did in the final trial, but at the point where he had the choice to give up and die, he looked at the others and he looked at Junko and he couldn’t allow it to happen, not out of self preservation, but because the idea that Junko would have control over their lives made him FURIOUS. and that utter refusal to die kicked in, wether luck or otherwise, and he made the concious effort for one last push while something in him was breaking. He had to be broken in order for the Ultimate Hope to come through so aggressively, bc it could only exist in the face of the Ultimate Despair. He snapped the same way she did, but in the other direction. In what could have been his final moments he chose to embody everything Junko wasn’t, and every single optimistic and luck fueled ideal in him suddenly charged forward and pushed him. It was a combination of the final straw and a choice. Makoto isn’t immune to feeling despair, he’s just too stubborn to fall into it of his own volition. I think that’s why I like that scene in DR3 so much. People were SO SHOCKED Makoto actually fell for the tape, that he actually became despair for a moment. I saw people getting mad or disappointed, saying it was pathetic and Makoto seemed to fall from some sort of pedestal for them. Honestly part of me wonders if that sort of mentality, which clearly people had in universe, affected Makoto a bit. Like he started to see himself as less of a person, subconsciously. Prompting him to take more risks, less self preservation, act way more bold. It seems he has to be reminded a lot not to put himself in danger by his friends, to not do something too reckless. All over the place I would see in regards to that scene either this frivolous ‘oh this was just angst drama with no meaning behind it’ or ‘he can do better than that. he’s so weak’ or ‘come on, there’s no way he’d fall into despair, he’s the Ultimate Hope!’ This kind of mentality, which was kind of ironic considering Ryota was there the entire time saying the same thing and treating Makoto the same way. Like Makoto was superhuman. Like Makoto didn’t feel despair the same way ‘normal people’ did. In a way that was also how Munakata saw Makoto. Makoto stopped being a PERSON to the world when he became Ultimate Hope, he became a concept, a belief system, much the same way Junko ascended beyond herself. But the difference is that treating Makoto that way is the opposite of the reason Makoto became such a representative for hope. He wasn’t doing something no one else could. He was doing something everyone had the chance to, he just… was a little more optimistic, a little more stubborn, a little more ‘gung-ho’ about things. He just took the lead where no one else did, where no one else knew they even COULD in the face of Junko’s unstoppable force. She had overcome the biggest threats and obstacles in the world, what could one person do? And the answer Makoto found was, anything. Everything. It doesn’t all rest on Makoto, he’s just the one that was inspired to try to do what seemed like the impossible. But as evidenced by the change in his friends after that trial, it’s clearly not something only Makoto is capable of. The others pulled out of despair thanks to Makoto, but it was their choice to do so.

“But… this world is so huge, and we’re so small. What can we do…? No, we can probably do anything. Yeah! We can do anything!”

does anyone remember when team salvato had that “for fans by fans” fanart merch contest, but like it had a backstory that monika “wasn’t allowed to participate” cause “she always wins and it would be unfair :(” but like all images of her and mentions of her name were glitched out, and in the background of the promo art there was a piece of paper with her poem “Hole in Wall” mostly erased (and not even in her font asset, just in the neutral/MC handwriting font) so all signs pointed to monika’s file being deleted

but then literally none of that was ever directly acknowledged in the posts or the merch for the contest, or in ddlc+ lore, or on other posts from team salvato’s twitter or monika’s twitter account? so, though it probably wasn’t intended to be lore to begin with, we never got any context for it, even within the constraints of the “backstory” for this specific contest?

In the calm silence of the ship, Imogen held her lover close and shut her eyes. Meditation in the traditional sense never came easy to her – to let go of her own sense of self to reach so called enlightenment felt like an unnecessary sacrifice to make. Imogen knew how to quiet her mind enough to stay centered, but she could never surrender herself past that. At least, she used to. 

To feel the warmth of someone she held deep reverence for, to trace the tips of her fingers across the other woman’s skin, to sense every beat of her heart through the Force like a steady beacon of life, made Imogen forget about herself completely. It gave her a taste of that fabled inner peace the Jedi always used to babble about. 

Bix inhaled deeply and nuzzled herself further into Imogen’s chest. “I missed you,” she whispered like a secret confession. 

A powerful warmth fluttered in the bounty hunter’s chest. She smiled at the thought of being missed. If the incessant tug in Imogen’s gut while she was away told her anything, it’s that she could certainly relate. “I thought of you often, as I always have when we are apart.”

“Is that so?”

“It used to drive me mad,” Imogen recalled wistfully now that she was free of her own vice. A playful urge overtook her and she positioned herself to pin Bix beneath her. The mechanic flashed an intrigued grin as Imogen leaned in. “Especially in the quiet moments,” she continued, lowering her voice to a sultry murmur as she brushed her lips over her lover’s cheek and down her neck, “when my longing for you kept me awake at night.”

thinking about how special the closeness of mutually loving siblings is. not even in an incest kink way necessarily its just. so wonderful. your sibling you can trust to have your back more than anyone. you can give hugs and kisses and play videogames and shittalk about your friend groups to each other and all of it screams I LOVE YOU. You can lend your younger sibling clothes because they think your style is so cool and you think its really sweet that they want to wear it. It's such a *comfortable* and *consistent* and *infinite* love. you don't have to get to know each other and talk to all their friends and like what they like. you already know them from the moment the second one of you is born. you know their most embarassing moments. you know how to comfort them. you share food and you always know how to split it; "my sibling likes the strawberry candy and i like raspberry." the older teaches the younger how to curse. the younger teaches the older how to take care of someone. sure, if you're lucky your mom or dad love you. but mom and dad ain't shit compared to the sibs. in the theoretical perfectly healthy family theres still a deep power cliff canyon thing there. but your close brother/sister/sibling is happy to side with you. they'll help you sneak out or give you stuff you're not allowed to have at the moment. let you borrow their things. they'll draw you the most terrible drawing and you'll wish you had a fridge to hang it up on. you'll sing them a badly improvised song and they'll cheerfully try to keep melody and fail. you'll teach them how to tie their shoes. they'll teach you how to believe in nice things. you know? that's your premade teammate in life. that's the one that starts at level one with you and you brave the wilderness together. that's the person who, if you put the work in to maintain a caring and good relationship, will always be loyal to you and the most fun even if youre too many years apart to have much in common in way of interests. your hobbies are boring. please tell me more about them.

꩜ Room Content: No specified character, no smut, fluff, just spending a slow morning together ꩜ A/N: Just had this small scene stuck in my head for a bit so I wrote it down!

The morning sunlight streams in through the kitchen window and diffuses a soft orange glow to the room. Set in their hands, is your cup, as they busy themselves with preparing your morning beverage of choice. 

Theirs is already done and the matching cup has earlier been set on the table where they usually sit. (They like to make yours second because then it’ll be justtt a little bit closer to the prepared temperature since it doesn’t have to sit out longer.)

Before long it’s done and they set it at your spot at the table. Settling in their seat, they take in the tranquillity of the slow morning. It’s quiet until they hear you making your way down the hallway to sit with them at the table.

“Hey there, did you rest well?” They crane their head over to look as you yawn.

You give a noncommittal hum, sleep still clinging to you.

“Well, hopefully you’ll sleep better tonight,” they say, pushing your cup closer to you.

It’s nice, the two of you starting the day together. Tenderly domestic. And maybe their heart does a little squeeze when they realise how syrupy sweet this all is, how lovely it is to be with you.

Slowly, gradually, the morning languidly ticks by.

And maybe someone has an errand to run, some quick task out of your shared home. The both of you find yourselves at the doorway.

“Love you, see you later,” you give them a chaste kiss on their cheek, smiling.

“Yeah,” their gaze flits over your features, and the corners of their eyes soften, “Yeah, love you too, see you later.”
