Johnny Storm x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Langauge, One Pick-Up line Summary: Ever since you got powers from a space mission, you’re stuck with your team who are figuring out how to get rid of your powers altogether. But your one teammate decides to plan things out to make a little money. It’s getting out of hand when he only annoys you.
A/N: @just-one-ordinary-fangirl is making me too obsessed with Johnny Storm. The perfect match, she says and I’m a little scared because I can see it. This is gonna be a disaster and we need more Johnny Storm on my list.
Tumblr media
Not everyday someone wakes up with powers and always gets told that they make a room not heat up. Out of every super ability you can have, it was ice powers. How stupid is that? Sue had the best one, you wanted to be the one to leave a conversation so easily by disappearing. But it doesn’t seem to be great when you have to strip bare.
Not your ideal of having, so you just had to go with your own. You were told so many times how much yours weren’t horrible. You couldn’t say it in front of Ben. Everyone knew why.
A walk in Central park, you were relaxing in the summer air. Seeing dogs run down the grass, people on bikes riding down or people walk down. You can hear someone pant and call out to you. Turning, you see a man who was running. “Hey, can you help me with something?”
You look at him in confusion and nodded, “Yeah, sure-” He shoves his water bottle into your hand and he kneels down on one knee to tie his shoe, “Thanks.” You couldn’t help but grip the bottle in irritation. The man stands up with a sigh, “Thank you.” He takes his water bottle and opens the cap. You look at the bottle and your eyes widen.
The two of you stared at the bottle that was now frozen. He stared at you, shockingly, “You’re...” The man stuttered and you can’t stand making a crowd if he ever bursts out in excitement. With a turn of your heel, you walked away. “Wait!” You hear him shout, you reached your hand out and the ground becomes frozen as you sprint walk. You hear the man slip and fall so you take that chance to run.
Heading back to the tower, you shoved your hands in your pockets and made your way through the doors, greeted by the front desk. The elevator dings and you see two people walk out. “Hey!” Johnny jumps at you, hiding something behind his back, he grins a little too big. “I have something, you might want to see.”
“I’m not in the mood, Pretty Boy. Now move before I give you a frost bite.”
You take a step to the side till Johnny mirrors your movement and holds his hand out. “Come on,” He tilts his head at you, “I promise you, you’re gonna love this.” You stare at him stupidly to have him just show you and leave you alone. He pulls it out and grins, “Ah, isn’t it cool?” You gawk at the horrendous toy. “It’s you!” He says.
You can see the blue outfit that your team wears with the number 5 on it. He looks at the toy, “And looks it’s got this!” He lifts up the arm and pushes a button. “Johnny, I-” You get cut off by a squirt of water hits the center of your face causing you to look deadpan.
Johnny kept a smile on his face like a five year old. Your eyes were still closed as the water drips down your face, “Johnny?”
“Yeah?” He asks, waiting for the most fantastic response from you. You reach up to your face and wipe away the water, you sighed, “I don’t have water powers.” Johnny looks at the toy, “But ice is water.” His shoulders drop, “Come on, I’m trying here.”
“You’re not even trying, Johnny. These aren’t things we should be happy about. We’re freaks now. And I don’t want... a toy that looks like me,” You say, “Besides these won’t sell.” Johnny lowers the toy and smirks, “Well, I saw these in every store. By tomorrow, we’ll be like the Kardashians.”
You roll your eyes and slowly thought of something. “Can I see the toy, I actually think these are cool.” Johnny hands you the toy with a cocky grin. You smiled at the toy and your hands grow colder. Johnny’s face drops, “Woah. Hey! That’s the prototype!”
The toy began to freeze up like an icicle and you dropped it on the ground, shattering it to pieces. You peer up at him, sadly, “Oops. Cold hands.” You hear the elevator ding and that gave you the chance to walk in like nothing happened. Johnny stood there like you just insulted his mom.
With a grin, you waved at him like a high school girl and fake grin in the world as the elevator doors close.
The next day, you hadn’t seen Johnny since morning. Sue and Reed were already gone and left on a date. Ben was in his own room while you sat in the kitchen, eating whatever you made from the fridge. You hear the phone ring and you made your way to it and picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Ah, Miss L/N. I have a package for you.” You furrowed your brows to your doorman in the lobby. You never ordered a package, but if it was another of those fanart from kids, you couldn’t refuse. “Alright. I’ll be down there in a bit.” You hung up and made your way to the elevator. Pushing the Lobby floor, you waited in the small room, stopping to let a fellow person into the small room with you.
His small grin winked at you as you forced one onto your face. He shivers, “Brr. It’s a little cold in here, is it?” He asked. You rolled your eyes at him and sighed, “Maybe next time don’t wear short sleeves,” You say. The man looked over his shoulder at you, awkwardly.
You obviously were the problem but you didn’t care one bit.
Once the doors open, the man was the first one out and you met up with your doorman and he handed you the small box. “Ah, here you go, Miss.” You nod once at him and hear someone laugh.
“Look who it is. DQ Blizzard. What’s got you down here?” Johnny asks, leaning on the desk. You turn away and headed straight for the elevator. “Listen, Pretty Boy. I’m not in a good mood.” Johnny trots behind like a child, “When are you not in the mood? Look, I know yesterday with your own figurine was... too much. But in all honestly, it was sick.”
You turn toward the opens doors, “Keep talking, I’ll make you into a popsicle. Now shut up.” Johnny quirks his brows up as a ‘Got it’ and never spoken again. You two stood there in silent, finally being in a peaceful room with one of the most annoying people on the planet.
The elevator opens to a woman and she comes in with a small grin. Johnny nods at her and she faces away from you two. The woman sighs, “Strange. You guys feel hot and cold?” She asked.
Johnny glances over at you before turning to the woman, “No. Not at all,” He spoke. Seconds, you could see Johnny steam up a little. You hear the woman let out a gasp, “Didn’t they fix the vents last time? Whoo. It’s hot,” You watch as the woman began to take off her suit jacket and Johnny watched her slowly. You found a way to stop him, kicking him in the shin causing him to yelp.
The elevator dings and the woman leaves glistening with sweat and the doors close once again. You shook your head slowly, “You’re disgusting.” Johnny shoves his hands in his pockets and grins. “Come on. Enjoy it. You were hot, too, admit it.”
“Actually I wasn’t. Maybe try a little harder because you can’t get to me that easily,” You say, leaving through the doors once they reached your level. Johnny followed behind with a grin. “Oh, come on. I get to you all the time. Even when you’re 0 degrees below, you still heat up in the cheeks. Admit it, Snowflake.”
You turn around, “Don’t call me Snowflake.”
“Hey, you call me Pretty Boy, what’s wrong with Snowflake?” He asks, he glances at the box in your arms, “I wonder what’s in the box.” He smirks at you in a bad way that gets you thinking. What was this jerk planning? You ripped the box open and saw plastic wrap. You pulled it open and saw what looked like Johnny. As a toy.
“What the hell is this? Did you get me this?” You asked, Johnny glance into the box again and so did you. A letter inside made you read it instantly.
Push the button on the back.
You look at the doll and pushed the button on its back. “Enjoy your new room.” You furrowed your brows and glared at Johnny. You raced to your room and pushed your door open, your mouth gapes at the scene. “What the hell, Johnny!” He comes in casually with his hand in his pockets. “What? I actually like it.”
“I don’t! Everything is...” You turned to the bed sheets that had his face on it, “You!” Toys of Johnny in his Fantastic Four suit were all over the place. Your curtains were blue with the number four on it. Johnny even added your figurine around the room.
“Where the hell did you get this stuff?” You asked, pacing around the room to gather all the merchandise. Johnny looks around like a proud guy. “Well, you know people get creative with us being top trending people, and I am the hottest guy here while you... hottest girl on the team as well, they made things for us. And I had a few people I know. It’s an early birthday gift.”
“My birthday was a month ago.”
Johnny pauses, lifting a finger up, “Okay... late birthday gift. But, hey...” He smiles like a child, pointing at you, “You are my biggest fan.” You grab the pillow case that had his face on it and threw it at him. “You’re so annoying! I hate you!” YOu shout.
Johnny laughs and catches it. “Come on! It’s amazing! It took me hours.” You throw another object at him and he blocks them with the pillow. “Woah! Hey!” You throw more things, “You! Are! So! Annoying!” You say, you began to run over to him till he takes your face in his hands and your lips crash onto his. Your fighting stops and your hands go over his. Your lips relaxed on his and he pulls away.
You open your eyes to see his blue hues, his grin tugging his lips. “What?” You asked. Johnny still rested his palms on your cheeks, “You’re as red as I am on fire.” You stomp on his foot causing him to hiss and reach for his foot. “I hate you,” His back hunched over to grab his foot with his hand till you kiss him again and his head lifts up to kiss you back again.
The kiss lasted for another second and you pulled away.
“Now clean up my room. I expect it to go back to normal,” You say. Johnny looks around the room to see your obsession with him and it made him grin. “I think it is normal to have a room filled with myself all over. That bed sheet isn’t gonna be the only Johnny in bed.”
“Ugh, you need to work on your lines.”

Stardew Valley imagine Reader/ ?????
Tumblr media
Possibly Sebastian... but who knows.
-So, I have been playing Stardew Valley for hundreds of hours in just few weeks and finally had de courage to write my own imagine. (Nice, I get off the game to write about it).
-I will avoid pronouns as much as I can, but when necessary I will use they/them. I hope everyone feels included.
-English is not my main language, but I am doing my best.
- I will, sometimes, bring some fanarts I made too.
Let’s go <3
The slow pace of the bus makes you feel dizzy. You look outside and see the most lively and green landscape you had ever seen, and along with it you feel the memories of old times coming to your mind.
Those days in the farm seem so far away now, playing with animals along your cousins, running around the crops, swimming in the rivers and lakes, fishing... and in the late evening sitting by a fire with your grandpa to hear stories about the valley.
Stardew. Stardew Valley, a place cherished in your memories.
You never imagined you would be going back to that valley to live in the farm from your childhood, taking with you just a small luggage. You are tired, sad and broke. Your wrists still hurt, a gift from hours typing in a computer of Joja corporation.
You don’t know how everything went so wrong. As a kid you always wanted to be a veterinarian or maybe a biologist, but you ended up in that corporative job, making thousands of reports that seemed the same one and attending meetings to talk about nothing. If you told yourself, that bright kid full of hope and wonder, that you would grow up to become such a bitter adult, you wouldn’t have believed it then.
At least you had the courage to leave.
You hold tight in your hands the letter from your grandfather, attached to it as a last light of hope that moving to Paradise farm can help you start new.
The bus stops and the driver asks you if you need help with your baggage, but you decline. You didn’t bring much.
You stand beside the bus sign and feel the soft breeze from the valley, listening to the birds chirp. Those memories seem more alive inside you.
“Hey! You arrived!”
A friendly call takes you out of your thoughts as a ginger woman comes towards you with the nicest of smiles.
“I was worried that the bus would be delayed but you are just in time!” she says, taking your baggage from off your hands before you can say anything. “I am Robin, the town’s capenter, you must be the new farmer! Lewis asked me to pick you up!”
“Hi...” you stutter, shaking her hand.” I am y/n.”
“You caused quite a commotion here at Pelican. It is not everyday we receive a new villager, a new farmer, then!” she says, taking your luggage to a small red pick up truck parked beside the bus stop.
“Actually... I am not a farmer. I am just going to live in the farm.” you say a little unease about how friendly she is. You are used to the apathic city people.
“Well, I guess living at Paradise makes you a farmer now.” She says a giggles.
As you take a dirt road, she continues to speak to you cheerfully.
“I just came by truck because I thought you would be bringing much more stuff. Your farm is actually very close.”
“I... I don’t own much.” you reply. “WHAT THE …!?”
When she parks by the gates your wonderful memories and hopes connected to Paradise farm seem to shatter. The landscape is taken by weeds and all the structures you remember seem to have aged twice the time you had been away. Trees had outgrown the charming paths or rock in which you and your cousins used to race each other, the little ponds where you used to fish were surrounded by twigs and bushes of weeds. The sight of the land was a mix of leaves, twigs and boulders.
“Not much of a Paradise anymore, hun? But I guess with a little effort you can bring it back to it’s bright.” Robin says as she notices the disappointment in your face.
“I guess...” you say, dispirited.
She takes you to the old cottage and the view is not much better. The wood seems a little rotten and cracked, you are afraid of what you might meet inside.
“Y/n! I haven’t seen you since you were this little!” an elder man comes out of the cabin and waves at you.
You think you remember him. Probably one of your grandfather’s friends. He had many, unlike you.
“Oh, I guess you were too little to remember me. I am Lewis, Pelican Town’s Mayor. You know, your granpa and I used to be friends since we were very young and this farm was full of coops, animals, fruit trees...”
Robins ahams to him to call his attention to your discomfort about the current situation of the farm.
“Oh... I mean... Sure you will do a good work of taking care of your grandfather’s property. Anyway, I am here to welcome you and say that whatever you need, you can call me and that If you have anything to sell to the city or export, you jut need to put it into that box, I will gladly take it and return to you with the money.” he says, in a very mayorish manner.
“Thanks.” you reply.
You are not very good with people. Maybe that is why you ended up behind a computer job.
“It is almost lunchtime!” Robin exclaims, she is so spirited. “So why don’t you put your bag in the cottage and come have lunch with my family? After that one of my children can show you around town. My son Sebby is almost your age, I am pretty sure you two will get along.”
“I... I don’t want to bother.” you reply scratching the back of your neck, uncomfortable.
“It was not an invite, it was a demand!” Robin says, and you can see the seriousness printed on her eyes.
You leave your bag beside the old bed in the cottage and follow her to the truck. After a small ride, you find yourself in front of a big house in the mountains.
“I think I have been here before.” You say, as you look at the lake slowly flowing near you.
“Probably when I was still building the house. I remember you and your grandfather’s other kids swimming around the lake. I think Sebby used to play with you sometimes. I guess if you remember each other.” she says.
“I surely don’t remember that.” you say, pointing at a giant boulder pile beside the lake’s source.
“Oh, that. That is the result of a landslide provoked by Joja Mart.”
“JOJA MART?!” you screech.
The simple mention of the company’s name makes you sick to your stomach.
“Yeah, they say they are working to get it removed, but they wouldn’t have to if they had not caused it in first place. I bet they were exploding the mines in search of gold, like the leeches they are.”
“Probably.” you agree to Robin’s inflated discourse.
When you get in the house, you hear the sound of a small explosion, followed but smoke and a funny smell.
“Oh Yoba! Dad, are you ok?! I guess I overcharged the batteries again!” you hear a girl’s voice and then a fire extinguisher being activated.
“There can’t be a fucking minute of peace in this house.” a guy comes from downstairs complaining. He is wearing a hoddie and has headphones hanging on his neck.
“Sebastian, language!” Robin says.
He turns to you and for a moment seems completely astonished to see you there, but quickly turns back to the apathic face he had on before.
“Hi honey! Maru and I were just doing a little experiment, but it got a bit out of hand... Oh, hello!” a man comes out of the room where the smoke is coming from.
“Y/n, this is my son Sebastian and that over there is my husband Demetrius.” Robin introduces you as you wave shyly.
A girl comes out of that same room. She is cleaning her glasses worried, but as she glances at you, her face shines with a bright smile such as Robin’s. She runs towards you and starts shaking your hand with both of hers, excitedly.
“Hello! I am Maru, and you must be the new farmer!”
“I... han... not a farmer actually. I will just live in the farm.” you reply uneasy.
“Oh, but I guess living in the farm will make you a farmer, then.” Demetrius says and giggles.
“I am going back to the basement.” Sebastian mumbles taking the direction of the stairs.
But Robin stops him by grabbing the back of his hoddie.
“Sebastian, it is lunchtime, so why don’t you go to the kitchen and put on the table for our guest, hmn?” she says in a way only a mother could.
He grunts and heads to the kitchen.
Maru leads you there by the shoulders while asking you:
“So you are from Zuzu city, right? How is life there?”
You can see Sebastian turning to you with the corner of his eyes when he hears it, he seems a little interested.
“Busy.” you answer.
She keeps staring at you with a smile as if she is waiting for the development of your answer, and does it until you feel uncomfortable enough to either attend her expectations or flee.
“Well... it is crowded. People are unfriendly, time seems to go by very fast...” you say, cracking your fingers anxiously. “There are more malls, I guess.”
“Interesting!” she replies with that same smile.
“So, you will be now taking care of Paradise farm, hm?” Demetrius says while sitting down next to his daughter. “I guess you will be having a lot of work taking care of all those weeds.”
“I actually don’t intend to work as a farmer.” you reply.
“Oh really? What kind of work do you do, y/n?” he asks gently.
“I am a reviewer. I mean, I was. I used to take care of paperwork, write reports on data and... you know, spend the day in front of a computer. I think I will find me a job to do this, but from here.” you answer.
“Sebby here is a computer geek, too! You two will get along well.” Robin says while serving you more food than you think you can eat.
“I am a programmer, mom.” he mumbles, facepalming.
“You should not be afraid of trying your hand at farming though.” Demetrius says. “Darling! This food is DE-LI-CI-OUS! As I was saying, this land has very productive soil and the town is an exporter, I am sure you can make some profit by selling whatever you produce. Also there is much foraging around you can pick and sell, there aren’t much people who take their time on doing that. The Salmonberry season will be here soon.”
“Thanks honey!” Robin replies with a giggle. “I am pretty sure y/n has it settled for the computer job.”
“Actually, I am pretty broke.” you think while taking a bite of Robin’s food. It is really good.
REALLY GOOD. You can’t remember the last time you had a homemade meal and the thought of it brings tears to your eyes.
“Oh, dear! Is it too spicy?” Robin asks, serving you a cup of juice.
You shake your head negatively trying to wipe the tears, ashamed. Sebastian and Maru stare at you, concerned, they even exchange a glance of worry and then, look back at you.
“No,no I... I have... a gland problem, I tear up sometimes... when... I am... eating?” you stutter, sobbing a little.
“I think I have heard about that. “ Demetrius says. “Maybe you should pay a visit to doctor Harvey in the town. He is a very good doctor.”
You nod as you continuously take bites of that wonderful food. It is so good to finally have a meal that isn’t pizza or a cold burger.
While having lunch you discover that Demetrius is a scientist. You take great pleasure in listening to him talking about how diverse is the Stardew biome. He also talks about minerals, the land’s properties and many other scientific things while Maru stares at him like she is the proudest daughter in the world. You feel like you would look at him the same if he was your father.
Sebastian rolls his eyes more times than you can count and when he is finally done with the whole “family and guest lunch” thing, he stands up and says:
“I am going out for a smoke.”
“Actually Sebby, could you please take y/n to get to know the town?” Robin says while she collects the dishes.
“Mom, I think you better ask Maru, she is better suited for these kind of things.” He whispers at her, but you overhear.
“Oh well, so maybe you wanna stay and take her turn in washing the dishes?”
You swear you can hear him cursing while he passes beside you and makes a sign with his hand for you to follow him. You feel unease, but Robin points at him and shakes her hands indicating for you to go.
Sebastian takes you outside, to the garage and hands you a helmet.
“What?” you say.
“What?” he replies while putting on a helmet himself. “We’re taking the bike”
“Bike?” you ask.
Sebastian uncovers an old-fashioned bike and gets ready to sit on it, but you stop him by giving him back the helmet.
“No, no, no.” you say, gulping your breath. “I can’t, sorry.”
“What? Aren’t you from the city?” he says.
“I can’t ride a bike.” you say, shaking your head frenetically.
“You just sit down and hold on, I am the one doing the riding.”
“Look, you don’t really have to do this. I will just go home and you can tell Robin I had to... do something else.”
“You don’t know my mom.” he says while taking off the helmet. “Ok, wait here, I will grab the truck keys.”
Sebastian doesn’t take long to come back with the keys and the both of you get inside the truck. He lowers his window and immediately puts a cigarette in his lips.
“Do you mind?” he asks you.
“Actually, can I have one?”  you reply feeling awkward.
“You smoke?” he says while rising towards you the pack with a cigarette extended.
“Only when stressed.” you say while letting him light it up for you.
“Yeah. Me too.” he says starting the engines.

Antithesis
Fandom: Good Omens
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley
Description: Azirafell finds something unexpected when returning to his shop one afternoon- the pawnshop is now a bookstore, containing a fussy angel with a very familiar face. Meanwhile, on the other side of town, an equally familiar-looking demon awaits Anthony back at his flat. Now, Aziraphale and Crowley must figure out how to get their opposite selves home, a feat which shouldn’t be too hard for a group of supernatural beings… as long as they can get along for more than a few minutes at a time, of course. A Reverse AU crossover.

Part 1
Azirafell stepped out of the taxicab and slammed the door shut behind him, snapping his fingers to miracle a few dollars into the driver’s hand. The demon didn’t feel like exchanging final pleasantries; while he’d been able to shut his eyes, it hadn’t been much of a rest, as the ride had been unnecessarily bumpy and left him in a slightly sour mood. All he wanted to do was go to his pawnshop and pour over the latest collection of knickknacks he’d picked up.
So, it was with great shock that once the taxi sped off and Azirafell turned around, he found an old, dingy bookstore standing in the space where his pawnshop should be. The demon blinked a few times, rubbed his eyes, then blinked again. Sure enough, the bookshop remained- a place that looked dusty, warm, and unbearably homey. This must be part of some elaborate prank, the demon thought with noise of disgust, though Azirafell had no idea who would dare try such a thing on him.
“Alright, what the heaven happened to my shop?!” the demon exclaimed, slamming open the old wooden doors. It was just a he feared- rows upon rows of dusty, filled-to-the-brim bookshelves. Azirafell’s lip curled into a scowl as he stalked further into the room, trying to find the cause of his beloved shop’s upheaval.
Meanwhile, Aziraphale the angel had been carefully restoring an ancient book when the slammed door caused him to jerk in surprise and tear a hole right through the page he was working on. He sucked in a breath, trying to control his swiftly rising temper, and henceforth missed the loud declaration from the intruder. Aziraphale carefully set his tools down and stood, adjusting his waistcoat in preparation for meeting his uninvited guest. He took a few seconds before leaving the back room to see if he could sense any supernatural presence- sure enough, the unmistakable tingle of demonic energy filled the air around him.
The angel frowned. Crowley often came over unannounced, and while he usually entered dramatically- as “dramatic” was the demon’s default setting-, he’d never slammed the doors like that before. With a twinge of fear, Aziraphale wondered if something bad happened- had Hell gotten over their fear of the demon who could (supposedly) survive holy water and come to destroy him once and for all?
“My dear?!” Aziraphale called, rushing out into the main room, looking around frantically. “Are you alri-”
The angel sharply cut off his words as he rounded a corner and came across the demon- at least, the creature’s aura certainly identified it as a demon. The face, however…
“Um… what’s going on?” said the other version of Aziraphale, and the angel frowned, noting the double pupils and, more concerningly-
“My goodness, whatever are you wearing?!” Aziraphale blurted out before he could stop himself. He clapped a hand over his mouth, knowing this to be the least of his worries, but he couldn’t help it. He prided himself on his fashion, as outdated as it was, and to see himself in a coat of deep teal, black, and white in lord knows what sort of pattern caused an involuntary reaction of horror.
“What am I wearing?!” the mirror image said, lips twisting in a sneer unbecoming on such a face. “What in Satan's name are you wearing?! You look like you stepped out of a Victorian catalogue! It’s the twenty-first century!”
“Excuse you, this outfit is considered ‘vintage,’ which I’ve been told is all the rage now!” Aziraphale pursed his lips, unable to stop himself from verbally lashing back. If Crowley saw him now, he would be astounded. But, the demon before him was not Crowley, and therein lied part of the problem. Aziraphale shook his head briskly, clearing away the thoughts of fashion choices in favor of more pressing matters.
“This shouldn’t be our concern right now,” he said, voice returning to a calm, reassuring lilt. The mirror version of himself flinched at this, as if physically pained by the angel’s demeanor. “Let’s try this again- I am Aziraphale, an angel, and this is my bookshop. And you are?”
“Azirafell,” the other version said, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “A demon, and this is supposed to be my pawnshop.”
“…Right,” the angel said, resisting the urge to comment on the demon’s on-the-nose choice of name. He knew Crowley would certainly mention it if he were there. “Well, I regret to inform you, but this building has never been a pawnshop; I’ve owned this bookstore for well over two centuries.”
“Same amount of time as my own establishment,” Fell said, one eyebrow raised. “I have a feeling that one of us isn’t where they’re supposed to be… and that would probably be me.” The demon let out a huff of air and rolled his eyes. “Typical. Nothing is every easy, is it?”
“Indeed,” Aziraphale said, thinking of how to get this unnerving version of himself out of his bookshop as soon as possible. He certainly couldn’t contact Heaven- not that he ever would, seeing as he was on his own side now-, and Hell was surely out of the question. So, really, the only option was-
“Anthony!” Fell suddenly exclaimed, startling the angel. The demon frowned, staring at the floor in contemplation. “I wonder if he ended up here, too…”
“Your Crowley?” Aziraphale ventured, and the demon met his gaze with a nod. Aziraphale smiled. “Well, it seems we’re both of the same mindset, at least somewhat. I was going to suggest we call my Crowley and see if he’d have any idea of how to sort this out, seeing as demons are more of his thing…”
Aziraphale trailed off with a vague hand gesture and Fell sighed again, flopping onto a nearby couch with a weary wave of his hand.
“Fine, sounds like as good a plan as any,” he responded. Aziraphale beamed at him even more and the demon wrinkled his nose. “Ugh, will you wipe that stupid grin off your face? It’s unnerving.”
“I could say the same about your constant scowl,” Aziraphale muttered tetchily, not liking when he was told not to smile. However, he knew arguing further was a lost cause, so he ignored the demon’s scoff and went over to the phone. He dialed Crowley’s home number first, figuring that he would try his cell if he didn’t answer.
“Hey, Aziraphale,” Crowley answered on the second ring, and the angel frowned. Crowley didn’t usually greet him by name.
“Hello, my dear. Um, I’m not quite sure how to explain this, but I seem to be having a sort of… situation at my bookshop.” Aziraphale glanced at the demon still lounging on the couch. Though Fell faced away from him and was seemingly focused on examining his nails, the angel was certain he was listening carefully to everything he said.
“Let me take a wild guess,” Crowley said, and Aziraphale heard a twinge of strain in his voice. “Another you showed up at your place and nearly took your head off?”
“Er, well, I wouldn’t say he ‘nearly took my head off…’” Aziraphale frowned, noticing that the demon on his couch had perked up and was now watching him, fully focused on the conversation. “But yes, there is another version of myself here. Well, sort of. He’s…”
“Guessing again- he’s a demon?”
“Yes, actually.” Aziraphale’s frown deepened and then he jumped suddenly as Fell appeared at his side and snatched the phone away.
“Crowley, right?” the demon said, sticking out an arm out to physically hold Aziraphale away from grabbing the phone back. There was a beat of silence on the other end, before Crowley responded, slowly:
“…Who’s this?”
“Oh, it’s Lord Beelzebub, just dropping in on the call to say hello,” Fell responded with a dramatic roll of his eyes. “Who do you think it is?! It’s another version of your angel- and I’m guessing you have my angel in your apartment right now?”
“Uh, y-yeah,” Crowley said, and Fell smirked at how utterly taken aback he sounded.
“Okay, good. Well, not really good, but at least we’re in the same boat. Now- hey!”
The ever-smoldering fire in Fell’s eyes flashed as Aziraphale snapped his fingers and miracled the phone back into his hand. The angel smiled triumphantly and quickly said into the mouthpiece:
“Crowley, dear, it’s me- listen, I think it’d be best if you and Anthony meet us at the bookshop so we can sort out this whole mess as soon as possible. Agreed?”
“Agreed,” Crowley responded. He paused, then said, softly, “Be careful, Angel, alright?”
“Of course, of course.” Aziraphale waved his hand to brush away Crowley’s concerns. “I’ll be perfectly fine; just please get here as fast as you can.”
“Will do; see you soon.”
With a click, Crowley hung up the phone. Aziraphale did likewise and then focused his attention back to the demon in his bookshop, who currently stood with his arms crossed and a mildly annoyed expression etched across his face. Aziraphale cleared his throat and tried another smile, which was met with another curl of the demon’s lip.
“Right, well, Crowley and Anthony are on their way,” Aziraphale said. “Knowing Crowley’s driving, I’m sure they’ll be here soon, but… care for a spot of tea while we wait?”
***
Approximately thirty minutes before Crowley’s phone rang, he was tending to his plants. The large fern by the window looked particularly scrawny, and Crowley was giving it a stern lecture when an overwhelmingly angelic presence appeared out of nowhere, almost knocking him to the ground with the sheer force of it. The demon steadied himself and gripped the plant mister tighter in his hand; he’d used it as a weapon once, and he’d use it again if need be (though he doubted tap water would have much effect on an angel save for making it angry at being spritzed).
Crowley cautiously stalked towards his front door, plant mister held out in front of him like a gun, wondering what any angel other than Aziraphale could want with him. And this angel was definitely not Aziraphale. Crowley was extremely familiar with the soft vibe that hid Aziraphale’s true nature as a Principality; his angel gave off a sense of warmth and comfort, unlike the presence Crowley felt now that gave off an aura of cold power. Whoever this new company was, they meant business.
The doorknob jiggled a bit as Crowley stopped dead center in the middle of the room, ready to attack. He wondered half-heartedly if he should call Aziraphale and let him know that something was about to go down, but he knew that any distraction could mean his instant discorporation. Because he and Aziraphale were now on their own sides, Crowley wasn’t sure they would get another chance at returning to earth with human bodies. So, he decided to face the potential threat head-on and hope for the best.
“Who’s there?” he called loudly, putting a demonically threatening undertone into his voice. Crowley sensed the presence on the other side of the door still for a moment, before a shockingly familiar voice responded:
“I should be asking you the same question, demon.”
Crowley blinked, plant mister lowering a millimeter as he struggled to understand why his own voice had responded. There was a gentle sigh on the other end of the door and another half-hearted shake of the doorknob.
“Listen, we can make this easy, or we can make this difficult- your choice,” the voice said, and though its tone was calm Crowley knew the presence wasn’t playing around. Still in a fighting stance, ready for an altercation, Crowley snapped his fingers and miracled the multiple locks on the front door open. Slowly, the door swung inwards to reveal the last person the demon expected to see.
“…Well,” said the other version of himself, dressed in white and pink and brandishing a glowing caduceus staff in front of him. “This is unexpected.”

Did you see arcanelucario's headcanon based on ilselani's fan art of Eren Annie and Falco? Could you write something like that with those three, it's been bugging me since I saw that fan art and I think you'd write something really good for it. Love your fics
Ah, this one has been sitting in my ask for so long I feel bad >///@arcanelucario and @ilselani are such talented people, so writing something based on their work is an honor ^^
Babysitting
EreAni. Modern AU.
3952 words.
Annie doesn’t hate kids. She doesn’t even dislike them. She just doesn’t know what to do with them when they’re in her presence, so she tries to avoid them as much as possible. It’s been tough to do now that she’s been dating Eren, who enjoys hanging with the Grice kids, family friends that are so close to him that they might as well be related. But even at family gatherings, she tries to keep interactions with them to a minimum, preferring to keep her conversations with them short although she suspects that giving children one-word answers to all their questions make her difficult to like. She can’t even bring herself to smile in front of them because kids make her so nervous, and her default bitch face isn’t that much better. Still, she tries to manage as best as she can.
But she can’t avoid any of that now that Eren has agreed to babysit Falco, one of the Grice children. Colt, Falco’s older brother, was spending the day with Zeke at a ballgame that was taking place downtown. Zeke only had two tickets, so Falco, who is far more thoughtful than Annie thought that an eight-year-old child could be, graciously volunteered to stay at home until Eren offered to spend the day with him so that he wouldn’t have to spend the day moping. She had initially shuddered at the thought of having to spend the day with Falco, who probably though her frightening because of her apparent dislike of him. (She doesn’t dislike him. That’s just her face. She actually thinks the kid is quite charming even though she never really knows what to say to him.)
Needless to say, she’s not really looking forward to this. She’s sure that the kid will come out thinking she’s some sort of witch by the time he gets picked up tomorrow.
“Do you want to sit in the front or in the back?” Eren asks Falco.
Falco hesitates when he sees that Annie slips into the driver’s seat, probably thinking that the cool blonde is far too scary to sit next to even though his cousin Eren has been dating her for quite some time. After a while, he finally says, “I think it’s fine if I sit in the back. You want to sit in the front with Miss Annie, don’t you?”
“You can just call her Annie, you know,” Eren says as he opens the door to the back of the car so that Falco can slide in. He takes the seat next to Falco, waving a hand when Falco begins to protest. “It’s fine. I get to see Annie every day. She’s probably thankful that you’re here now so I have someone else to bother all day.”
“He’s right. He’s annoying if you’re stuck with him all day,” Annie says from the front. She adjusts the rearview mirror so that she can see the both of them clearly in its reflection. Falco looks surprised as if he hadn’t expected her to talk, but Eren just gives her the same adoring smile that he always does. “Buckle up, boys.”
Eren helps Falco buckle his seatbelt before doing his own. “Is there anything you want to do? Play ball? Watch the game on TV? Play video games?”
“Er, it’s okay,” Falco mumbles. He picks at imaginary lint on his clothing, his eyes flitting nervously at where Annie sits in the driver’s seat. “I don’t want to disturb Miss Annie while she’s doing her work.”
“It’s just a bit of reading,” Annie tells Falco. She’s an editor at a publishing company, something she’s mentioned once or twice at Eren’s family parties. She didn’t think Falco would remember something like that or had even heard. “Even if you’re noisy, I listen to music while I’m working so I probably won’t hear you guys at all.”
Falco looks relieved, but Eren frowns and leans over to poke Annie’s cheek. “Are you really not going to hang out with us? Zeke’s out with Colt, so now Falco and I are lonelier than usual. Doesn’t a day with us sound better than reading a bunch of manuscripts?”
She takes a quick glance at the rearview mirror, eyebrow raised. “Falco? Sure, I’d love to spend a day with him. But you? No, not at all.”
She sees Falco smile a little bit to himself, stifling a laugh behind a hand, and she thinks that maybe they’ll be alright after all.
The car ride home is a lot livelier than she expected it to be. Annie was sure it would be filled with a lot of long and awkward silences – Falco was a quiet child and she wasn’t really one for conversation herself – but Eren had a surprising number of car ride games up his sleeve. He only played them with Falco knowing that Annie disliked distraction when she was doing anything, especially driving, and the two played numerous types of games all at once. She was impressed with their ability to jump from game to game seamlessly without any hiccups or confusion – word games, geography games, twenty questions, a game called padiddle where they would watch for cars with one headlight out, and punch buggy. It seems that punch buggy is Falco’s favorite because he can sock Eren as hard as he could and Eren would cry out, rubbing his arm and complain about how strong Falco is.
Annie doesn’t usually get too invested in what happens in the back seat of her car. She usually tries to ignore the people who sit there unless they’re too drunk and on the verge of throwing up on the car cushions. Otherwise, she’s learned to drown out whatever happens there. She kind of has to when Sasha and Connie clamber into the backseat drunkenly singing old 90s songs off-key, but watching Eren and Falco playing car games makes her smile and she finds herself searching for cars driving past with only one working headlight.
She finally spots one – a tiny white car with too many bumper stickers and strangely shaped headlights that are too round, only one of which is working – and before she can stop herself, she reaches up to touch the roof of the car and says, “Padiddle!”
Both Falco and Eren seemed surprised, but Eren smiles widely when he looks at the white car that Annie had spotted through her rearview mirror and says, “Ah, we’re going to lose if Annie’s playing, Falco. She’s a much better driver than I am, and she’s an expert and looking at all rearview and side-view mirrors.”
“Padiddle – Miss Annie: 1, Eren: 7, Me: 6,” Falco says, reciting the scores he’s kept tabs of off the top of his head. “She still has to catch up with us, so we could still win. Will you be playing the other games with us too, Miss Annie?”
“Um, sure,” Annie says, checking the mirror again but this time so she can switch lanes and drive around a particularly slow driver. (Really, if you’re going to drive that slowly, why bother even getting on the highway?) “And you know you can call me Annie, Falco.”
“Okay,” Falco says. He fumbles with his hands in his lap for a second, looking up shyly at her. “Annie.”
“Punch buggy!” Eren yells suddenly, giving Falco a good punch on the arm. It’s probably not the hardest he can punch since he might give the poor boy a bruise, but it’s enough for Falco to cry out in surprise, rubbing the spot sorely while Eren grins. “How many points is that for me now, Falco?”
In the end, Annie wins both the geography and word game, Falco wins padiddle, and Eren wins punch buggy (although Annie is pretty sure he cheated because it’s not like that many people drive Volkswagen Beetles anymore).
“Okay, I need to edit a few manuscripts by the end of this weekend, so don’t bother me unless it’s to eat lunch,” Annie yawns as she unlocks the apartment to let them in. She doesn’t mind her work, but it does get tedious after a while. At least publishing houses are pretty much over the vampire romance craze, although she does still get a fair number of weird supernatural romance books to look over.
“Will you be in your room all day, Annie?” Falco asks. There’s a little frown on his face that he tries to hide, but she can tell he’s disappointed. She thought he wouldn’t mind it and that she wouldn’t care, but she hates looking at his ocean blue eyes, sad that she won’t be joining them.
“I suppose if I finish early I’ll come out and play with you guys,” Annie says, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. She never thought she’d actually consider spending time with a child willingly, but here she is. “I’ll try my best, okay?”
His face lights up in an excited smile. “Alright! Don’t work too hard, okay? My parents say it’s best to take breaks in between so you don’t wear yourself out.” He turns to Eren, tugging him along to where the TV is so that they can watch cartoons or play video games. “Come on, Eren!”
“Coming,” Eren says, but he gives Annie a smirk before he lets himself get dragged away.
If Falco weren’t here, she’d tell him to shut up, but now she only rolls her eyes before disappearing into her room. As she sits there in her room highlighting and crossing words out, she wonders why this work seems so unappealing compared to the muffled laughter she can hear on the other side of the wall.
Before noon, she had asked them if they wanted to order take out. She wasn’t in the mood for cooking nor could she take time off her work to make a meal for them anyhow. Eren, however, assured her that he would be fine making lunch for all of them. It would give Falco life experience too (although Annie thinks Falco is a bit too young for that). She didn’t really trust Eren with the stove or any kitchen appliance aside from the microwave (and sometimes not even that), but she figured that having Falco around would make him less likely to burn down the kitchen.
It was well past noon when she realized that Eren had not called for her, so either they hadn’t started making lunch or they had forgotten her completely. From the giggles she hears from the kitchen, she suspects it must be the latter, but when she enters the room and finds them laughing and sticking cooked spaghetti noodles to the ceiling, she thinks she probably should have thought up a third option.
She waits in the doorway waiting for them to notice her, but they never do. Pushing herself off the doorframe, she clears her throat as she walks towards them, eyebrow raised. “What are you two doing?” Annie looks around at the kitchen, chin raised to stare at the noodles that are creating unknown shapes on the ceiling. “Is this lunch?”
“Er…yes?” Eren says with a guilty smile on his face. “I was showing Falco how to cook the noodles. On a completely unrelated note, did you know that you can’t put oil in water when you’re cooking spaghetti?”
Annie narrows her eyes. “That’s where the expression ‘oil and water don’t mix’ come from, Eren. Did you try to put oil in the spaghetti water?”
“Maybe,” Eren says, not looking her in the eye as he rubs the back of his neck. “It’s fine though! I emptied out the pot and just cooked it in normal water. Ask Falco.”
Falco nods enthusiastically. “Yeah, and Eren said that you can see if the spaghetti is ready by sticking it to the ceiling. These ones are all ready,” Falco tells her, pointing happily at the noodles that hang above them. They must have stuck half the noodles up there already. “I don’t know how we’re going to get them down though.”
“It’s sticking noodles to the fridge, Eren,” Annie sighs, but she must admit that there’s something amusing about this whole thing. She glances at the half-empty pot of noodles sitting on the counter and shakes her head. She’d cook more, but she knows that the rest of them will end up on the ceiling as well. She walks over to Falco and ruffles his hair. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll just call or take out and you and Eren can do whatever you want with these noodles as long as Eren cleans up afterward. What do you want? Chinese, Italian, Indian? I have some menus if you want to look at them.”
“Oh, um,” Falco says. He follows Annie as she leads him back to the living room, handing him some menus to flip through. When she sits down, he takes the seat next to her, sitting so close that his fine blond hair tickles her arm as he leans into her, pointing at certain foods and asking her opinion of them. The noodles she told him he could play with are completely forgotten.
In the kitchen, Eren has fetched the little stepping stool and is using it to reach the noodles stuck to the ceiling. He looks over at Annie, admiring the sight of Falco sitting cozily beside her. When he sees Annie take a quick look at him, he smiles and mouths, “Cute.”
Quickly, she looks away and returns to attention to Falco, telling him which shops are the closest and have the best delivery. Looking after Falco is pleasant, she thinks, although she doesn’t know if she could ever get used to it.
After lunch and a quick board game (Apples to Apples, which Falco says is his favorite), Annie retreats into her room, trying not to look at Falco’s disappointed look when she disappears. She doesn’t dislike him, she just has work to do. At least he’s an understanding child who whines when she leaves (although she can’t imagine a child ever becoming so attached to her that they would miss her when she has to go). She’s back to reading more manuscripts – a time-traveling fantasy, a murder mystery, a fictional biography – when she hears a knock on the door. It’s gentle and hesitant, nothing like Eren who usually just barges in because he’s so excited that he forgets that she’s working.
She puts the draft down and takes off her glasses, rubbing her eyes a bit because reading has strained them, and she always forgets to take breaks unless Eren is there to bother her. Turning to the door, she asks, “Falco? Is that you? Do you want to come in?”
The door creaks open slowly and Falco’s head pops in. He quietly tiptoes in, a box of donuts in his hands. “Hello, Miss Annie,” he says, forgetting that she’s allowed him to just call her by name without using an honorific in front. “Would you like a donut? Eren and I went to go get some while you were working. He said they’re your favorite and that you could use a break.”
“Annie, Annie,” Eren says, barreling through her door and smothering her in a hug. “I let Falco choose all of them, but I let him know which ones you like the best.”
“This one,” Falco says, pointing at one with a gorgeous chocolate glaze on it. He points at another one that’s dusted with powdery sugar, probably filled with chocolate or some sort of cream. “This one is my favorite, the jelly-filled one. I bought two so you could have one too because they’re especially good.”
“How very thoughtful of you, Falco,” Annie says. She takes a napkin and plucks the napkin out of the box. She smiles at him. “I’m sure it’s delicious.”
“He didn’t get one for me,” Eren pouts, plopping over onto the beanbag Annie has in the corner. He waves a hand to call Falco over. “Give me a chocolate one, Falco.”
“Ah, okay!” Falco says, trotting over to Eren and giving him the donut he asked for.
“If you get any crumbs on that beanbag, I won’t hesitate to murder you, Eren,” Annie tells him. She takes a bite, licking some of the sweet strawberry jelly from the inside, relishing in how the sweetness goes perfectly with the soft doughy.
“She’s kidding,” Eren says, winking at Falco.
“Hm,” Falco says. He doesn’t look like he believes Eren entirely, but he takes a place next to Annie, putting the box of donuts down on the side of her desk that isn’t littered with manuscripts. He takes a jelly donut for himself and takes a bite of it, a delighted grin on his face after tasting its sweet goodness. He looks at Annie and asks, “Do you like it?”
“I love it,” she replies, licking her thumb to get the rest of the powdered sugar off it. “You have good taste, Falco.”
“Thanks!” Falco beams.
She wonders if she’ll look after Falco again. She doesn’t think she’d mind it.
They eat Chinese food for dinner, takeout again because Annie doesn’t think she can stand seeing more noodles thrown at the ceiling, and play a game of Monopoly because Falco asked to even though Eren warns him against it. (“Annie’s a monster at Monopoly,” he whispers to Falco when he thinks Annie isn’t listening. “She’ll take the railroads, then Boardwalk, then Park Place, and she won’t even bat an eyelash once you start losing! She won’t even care!”) As expected, they both lose to her although Falco holds off surprisingly well considering it’s his first time playing against her.
“You’re just too good, Miss Annie,” Falco sighs, falling back and collapsing on the floor. He lifts his head and looks at her curiously. “Say, are you this good at video games?”
Off to the side, Eren shakes his head and makes a huge X with his arms, warning Falco not to even think about it. “She’s even better at video games, Falco. We’ve already lost this badly. We should just retreat now.” To Annie, he says, “Don’t you have some work to do? We’ve distracted you long enough, haven’t we?”
She ignores Eren and smiles at Falco. “Falco, do you want to play Mario Kart?”
Falco grins. “Yes!”
Behind him, Eren groans.
She wakes up that morning later than usual. Bleary-eyed, she sits up and looks over at the clock on the bedside counter, the screen blinking 10:30. She frowns when she realizes that Eren isn’t in bed with her, but it’s possible that he and Falco decided to sleep on the couches in the living room. Or, she thinks as she stumbles out of her bedroom to find them both sprawled on the floor and the TV playing the Mario Kart menu song in the background, he could have just fallen asleep playing video games.
Annie yawns, walking over to Eren and kneeling next to where he’s sprawled on the couch to poke him in the forehead. Falco’s on the other end, curled up in the corner with all the pillows. She had left them at ten after winning multiple games of Mario Kart, telling them to go to bed after a few more games. She never should have believed Eren would keep his word.
“Huh?” Eren mumbles, swatting at her hand. He blinks at her sleepily, smiling when he sees that it’s her. “Annie.”
“Eren,” she replies, poking him once more and ignoring his groans for her to stop. “What did I tell you yesterday?”
“Uh…” Eren sits up slowly, rubbing at his face. “Not to play video games all night.”
“What did you do?”
“We played video games all night,” Eren says, a sheepish grin on his face.
She pinches his cheek. “Wake up Falco and clean this up. We need to eat breakfast. Zeke’s going to be here soon to pick him up.”
“Alright, alright,” Eren yawns. He pokes Falco on the side. “Hey, kid, get up. We need to clean this all up and Annie’s going to make us breakfast.”
“Oh,” Falco says. His mouth stretches in a wide O as he yawns, his hand covering his mouth. He sits up, rubbing his eyes and giving Annie a sleepy smile. “What’s for breakfast, Miss Annie?”
“Hey, you’re supposed to helping me clean up!” Eren says as Falco leaves him with the tangle of wires and remotes.
“You can clean it up yourself,” Annie tells him. When Falco meets her in the kitchen, she hands him a bowl and reaches up to get the flour and sugar in the cabinet. “You want to make pancakes with me, Falco?”
“Yes!” Falco says happily.
“Aw, Falco, do you like Annie better than me now?” Eren says as he wraps up the controllers and puts them away in the cabinet under the TV.
“I just think Miss Annie is really nice,” Falco says, looking at her shyly.
Eren looks over at Annie with an accusatory glare like she had meant to steal Falco from him all along. The fact that Falco like her at all is a surprise to her and while she thought having a tiny human attached to her would be annoying, she does find Falco a sweet child and pleasant company.
She simply smirks at Eren before handing a mixing spoon to Falco and telling him how to sift the flour and sugar together. It’s nice being a child’s favorite, she thinks.
“So,” Eren says after his brother has come to pick Falco up and return him home. “What did you think?”
She can feel how tightly Falco had squeezed her as he was saying goodbye, making her promise that she’d play with him again the next time they saw each other. She doesn’t usually think children are cute, but she can’t help but think that word suits Falco exactly. She thought that looking after a child would be more tiresome, but Falco was surprisingly easy to take care of.
“He’s not that bad,” Annie replies, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “I guess kids aren’t as bad as I thought.”
“Really?” Eren says, raising an eyebrow. He leans towards her, a mischievous smile on his face. “Does this mean you wouldn’t mind having kids? I think they’d be cute, especially if they looked like you.”
“What are you saying? I didn’t say anything…,” she mumbles, her face growing red. She reaches for his shirt, but he’s slipped out of her reach, dancing towards their bedroom.
“I’ve already thought of names. I wrote them all in a notebook, too,” he tells her as he disappears into the room. He pokes his head out, a notebook with the cover folded backward in his hand, and reads the list. “Chauncey, Gertrude, Ronald…” Each name is worst than the last.
“You’re not naming them,” Annie says, stomping after him and ready to grab the notebook from his hands. “You’re not naming them, Eren.”
He lifts the notebook so that she can’t reach for it and smiles at her when she glares. “So you want kids?” he asks her.
“Well,” she says, embarrassed. She fiddles with her bangs, brushing them out of her face. “I wouldn’t mind. Just as long as they don’t look too much like you.”
Eren laughs, letting his arm drop and allowing her to grab the notebook from him. It’s empty though – the names he had recited were all ones he had made up – and before she can say anything, he plants a hard kiss on her lips. He pulls away, a playful grin on his face. “Then let’s make a lot, yeah?”

Here's what DBZ has done for me in only the last year
(Mind you, I've only been dedicated to watching for about 2 years, but that makes the last year even more amazing bc of the short time span)
This will be sort of a long post. But if you like sappy stuff like me, then read along!
1. It made me draw more
I was hardly ever drawing since I started my full-time, adult job in phone retail bc my stress levels were high and my creativity low. But ever since really delving into the DBZ series, I'm constantly in a mood to draw something. (Bless you, Yuya Takahashi, my art brain short-circuited when I started the Majin Buu arc)
2. I made new friends
I have nothing against the friends I currently have. Hell, the ones I still DO have since high school are my ride-or-die's. But, to have the ability to make new friends (and not bc of them being coworkers that I spend nearly every day with) just off of something we all share a passion for? Amazing. I even have one new friend I text like, every day and she is the sweetest thing. And all because we bonded originally over our love for DBZ! I'm now part of a group chat of girl who love Vegeta (bc, come on, how can you not?) and have found so much amazing art and writing that I even bought my first fanzine and have been planning on meeting most of these guys/gals in person someday!
3. It made me stop caring what others think
Ok, maybe not completely. Life and human emotion is a little more complicated than that. But, as I've made these new friends and seen their passion and creativity for a fandom that has been kicking and screaming (literally) for like, 20+ years is so AWESOME. And in observing this, and as my own love for the show grew, I started branching into territory I had never ventured to before, creatively. I started doing fanart. I started writing fanfiction which is something I never thought I would be able to do. I even posted publicly to my lifelong friends and family (some of whom used to make fun of me for liking anime when I was a kid) that I just didnt care anymore. I wanted to like what I wanted to like, and to have fun, dammit. I may have always seen like the type of person to do or say or wear whatever, but my mind was always thinking of what others thought of me. I no longer want to, and I've been slowly really growing out of that self-consciousness for a while without me realizing it. All because I was so in love with the world and characters of a fiction that ppl grew up on.
4. It taught me to keep fighting for myself
Listen. In our shitstorm of a world as of late, my mind was a mess. I was constantly living in the past, constantly fighting back anxiety and stress in waves that were often debilitating. I even rode the roughest wave of depression in YEARS, to the point of wanting to give up on ever doing something arts related again. But, I was still watching DBZ, still delving into the story of characters I had grown to love, and it was the ONE really bright thing I cared about that wasnt my husband at the time. On top of all that, watching DBZ has been, not quite a distraction, but a coping mechanism for a good/bad/sick day throughout the entire year. It has made me want to grow as a person, to be someone better and stronger than the person I am today. I've always been headstrong in my dreams, but adulting really wanted to suck those things out of me for good. DBZ has made me realize there is a shared passion in a show so beloved, that it has opened multiple doors of conversation for me, even at work! (I have Vegeta on my phone case, lol)
5. DBZ has taught me to never give up
This is such a cliche, something a lot of people have said about this show. But, to reference back to the above points, I really did want to give up everything early this year. I wanted to quit my job, to move states, to be alone. I wanted to never write or draw again bc "I was never going to be good enough" (silly me) to be recognized. But, with the comfort and assurance of my husband (God bless him) and through the comfort of watching a show that filled me with joy, I grew. My husband and I sold our art at a local parsde and actually made a profit! (Small profit, but I was expecting to only break even, so I was very surprised.) My favorite character in the show ended up being Vegeta, which surprised no one who knows me, but for reasons that I've come to understand bc, at first, I didnt know why I liked him so much. But, I began to get it. A character like Vegeta, who is constantly being one-upped, constantly being viewed as 2nd best, constantly struggling and training to be better, was exactly how I felt. And sometimes, I still feel that way. The art world is incredible, but also cruel and overwhelming. It's easy to beat ourselves up, but much harder to push ourselves off the ground when random people like to kick artists while we're down. .But, I brushed myself off, got to my feet, and basically gave the middle-finger to the world and to myself for ever considering giving up. I would be stronger. I would be better, in every aspect of my passions and dreams, and I would NOT give up. I wanted to be like Vegeta who, through growth and reflection, took pride not only in who he was, but eventually, in his OWN strength.
In Short (lol):
DBZ has literally changed my life in such a short span of time. And I am forever grateful to my husband for finally sitting my ass down and making me watch it, and also to the fandom, who has been nothing but supportive and friendly in my short time here. Thank you, Akira Toriyama, and thank you Toei Animation. You've literally helped a person who needed to see a show like this one more than she ever thought she would.

A Candle For The Caribbean: Charity Anthology
Titles and Summaries of Stories and Fanart
Tumblr media
The outpouring of support from artists and donors has been truly inspiring. As of today, we’ve raised $1650.00 in funds, all donated directly to organizations supporting the ongoing relief efforts in the Caribbean.
We’ve received the first proof of the anthology, including the list of works being offered. For a minimum donation of $10.00 to any reputable charity supporting victims of Hurricane Maria, you can receive this collection in e-format containing all the creative works from The Hunger Games, Outlander and Overlander fandom, to be published on December 7th. We will continue accepting receipts through the end of January, 2018. Send these to [email protected].
Below the cut, you will find a preview of all the stories and works being offered, including the titles, authors and story summaries or opening paragraphs of the works to be published.
We here at Love in Panem cannot express enough how grateful we are for the number and quality of stories and the number of people who’ve stepped up to contribute to this cause. This includes the wonderful banner makers and betas who have made this anthology a success.
Without further ado, find the list and summaries of artists below. A warning: It is quite a long list :)

Forever, My Muse by @alwayspeetamellark
He needed new inspiration and fast. It was over four months ago he had his last exhibition and this creative rut had found him. Simply nothing was coming out right. He had tried everything, from taking a trip and getting away from things but to no avail. He still lacked the inspiration and when he put brush to canvas nothing came to life, as it should have.
From Peeta with Love by @PatriziaNordsee
July 2017 - Peeta / Lufthansa Flight 707 to Puerto Rico
10 hours is a long time. How will I spend 10 hours sitting in the economy class of a plane with nothing to do but wait? Nothing to do with my hands and nothing to think about but the reason why I left Germany and am now on a plane to Puerto Rico. Left the country I called home for such a long time.
Now flying into the Caribbean. 10 hours is all it will take to bring me from Frankfurt in Germany to Juan Santa María International Airport. 10 hours to transfer my soul from Germany to Puerto Rico.
Hurricane Force 5 by @thegirlfromoverthepond
Peeta was exhausted.
Or rather, he was beyond exhaustion.
He wished he could find solace in the landscape in front of him. The endless blue of the sea, marked here and there with little puffs of white, meeting the sky, in a never ending palette of blues. It would be breathtaking if he could take his mind of the disaster all around him.
Let’s Hurt Tonight by @katnissdoesnotfollowback

Perhaps, Maybe by @everlarkingjoshifer
Weariness bore her sleep addled thoughts as Katniss leaned her head against the car window while rows and rows of unlit mast poles passed by. Blinking slowly she suppressed a yawn as yet another tree the length of a small apartment building whisked by. Furrowing her eyebrows, she tried to guess which kind it could be, but it passed by too quickly and her sluggish thoughts fogged her memory. Unable to conceal yet another yawn Katniss repositioned herself against the all too comfortable seat.
“Tired?” Peeta asked giving her a sweet smile.
‘No shit Sherlock,’ she internally said but thought better of it, choosing instead to just shrug nonchalantly.
Not With Haste by @llmarmalade
Summary: Prim and Peeta were never reaped, Peeta married Delly Cartwright who died and Katniss never married. The Revolution occurred naturally after President Snow died. Prim was killed in the City Circle bombing.
Redemption by @notanislander
She sits alone in the sand overlooking the bay. After pulling the overnight shift at the hospital, this is her favorite place to be. The sounds of the waves crashing and the gulls calling to each other gives her a sense of calm that she cannot seem to find anywhere else. The breeze softly blowing her hair soothes her. She’s glad it’s high tide though, sometimes the smells at low tide are a bit overpowering. She sits there, contemplating the past few days, contemplating her life, contemplating what brought her here to 4. And why she stayed.
Ride Through the Meadow by @savvylark
“Get back on the saddle. Just like riding a bike.” Johanna's words echo in my head as I ride my way through to short cut through the meadow to my favorite park. That’s the problem, dating is nothing like riding a bike. There’s a focus, you can see the terrain ahead of you and know what you’re facing. There’s a clear goal and destination in mind and, if you have a companion on your journey, you keep the same pace, there’s an understanding with the common goal ahead that spurs one another on.
Smitten With You by @litlifelover
These days Katniss enjoys her life as an editor for children's books, which can be stressful at times, but never to the degree of her former career as an event planner. She likes her quiet evenings and lazy weekends, loves that she can visit her family regularly and is able to spend time with her nephews. There’s even the flexibility to meet with Madge after a work day, enjoy a cup of coffee and talk about everything best friends talk about.
Someday by @norbertsmom
Summary: In this Everlark take on West Side Story, Katniss is a Puerto Rican girl living in the Seam neighborhood of the town of Panem. Peeta is a white baker’s son living in the merchant area. Their families each belong to rival gangs. Can the star crossed lovers survive when the feud comes to a head?
That’s How You Change The World by @geekymoviemom
I wake, shivering, in the dark of the night. Peeta is passed out cold, the morphling I shot into his arm nearly three hours ago keeping the worst of his pain at bay, at least for now. But it’ll be all too soon before he wakes again, startling with the intensity of his agony before he remembers that moving makes it all that much worse.
The Buzz Around Town by @florence68blog
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the relationship between Peeta and Katniss ended before it even began. Ten years later they meet again. However, the only thing Peeta is able to observe is that Katniss is even more unreachable than ever …
The Lucky Ones by @historywriter2007
West Virginia, December 1969.
“Peeta Mellark, you need to get back here and fix this right now.” Glimmer screeched.
Peeta stopped halfway down the walk to turn and face his fiancé. Her blue eyes were clouded with anger, he thought she would understand but obviously, he was wrong.
“There's nothing I can do, Glimmer. I got my draft notice, I'm not going to turn my back on my country.” Peeta raised the letter in his hand, his blood began to boil, how could she not see this was the right thing to do?
Too Familiar by @hutchhitched
Katniss smiled as she read the text messages that flashed on her phone screen. Her co-worker and friend, Peeta Mellark, and she had enjoyed a running commentary for the past few months—ever since they both begrudgingly admitted that they shared the same corny sense of humor. Katniss found him remarkably funny and had lost track of the times she’d (literally) laughed out loud at a quip he’d sent.
Unsafe Waters by @jobanana7
Sept 6th JFK international airport The day was finally here. After a month apart from his love, he was coming home and he was ready for it. Before his company asked him to go to New York to do this presentation that Peeta hadn’t thought would take so long, he asked her dad for permission to marry her before he left. Had she known he did she would’ve teased at him for sure but he was ready with his Grandma Sae’s rings on his person and a beautiful would be bride by his side. He was ready. He just hoped she would accept his proposal.
When You Kiss Me…by @chele20035
Dog trainer Katniss Everdeen got to help wounded vet, Peeta Mellark. Neither one knew what to expect when they receive invites to a special New Year’s Eve ball in London, England.
Outlander
Jamaica by @bonnie-wee-swordsman
Summary: A scene that we haven’t yet gotten in Outlander canon, even four books afterward: Brianna tells Jamie about the dream she had about her parents being in Jamaica. Based upon Voyager (Chapter 61) for Jamie’s side of the event, and Drums of Autumn (Chapter 40) for Brianna’s, so expect spoilers for both.
Memories Of The Moon by @phoenixflames12
He sits on the white boulder below the cave, gazing up at the moon. The cup of weak stew that Young Jamie had brought up that evening clasped between hands that are numb with cold.

Alec Hardison sat at his computers a few days after the Irma and Maria hurricanes hit the islands in the Caribbean. Parker and Eliot were off buying supplies, they had just finished a job in New York. Hardison was just testing a program to search for any potential clients that Leverage, Inc could take on when his laptop dinged with a new email.
