shipping is, prevalent. shipping even rpf is ingrained into tumblrs culture on every side of it if you dont like it thats a you thing, you can 'blacklist' tags so just add 'rpf' or the shipnames to them and you should be good!

continuing with that idea, curate your own experience is the most important thing on this site, blocking and blacklisting is normal and very much allowed and welcomed. almost no one is going to change how they do or act around here for one person, just unfollow or blacklist.

but do NOT put long posts or x reader fics, anything in the main tag without putting it under a 'read more' tab people will get annoyed by you

followers dont matter!!! no one CARESSS about basically anything this site is wonderfully anonymous and we can't see how many followers anyone has so genuinely no one gives a shit do whatever you want

thanks for the explanation though. I dont really know Stols, just that i used to see them around in the community. I followed them for a short time on their Charlie blog and i never really saw them do anything they did on goetiia, just that they werent very active on that blog. there was a situation that someone copied all their tags because they posted comparisons screencaps of them but if i'm not mistaken they settled the conflict

as for ezy and sheep I wasn't aware of their drama but I saw the callouts and vents they'd post and I think ezy might still be around? like I said i don't know the whole situation but yeah

hi again! i really do appreciate you asking because it should be encouraged to ask questions. even if you don't know where to go, it's always fair to ask someone who could answer your question if they talk about it.

but yeah, i've heard about it and i'm just hoping things settle after this. shit happened, people have moved on and i'm hoping that we don't have to deal with something as public as that was. as for the other two, i'm not sure. i don't keep track and if they're around, they're around. i always keep 'em blocked and its none of my business to see what they're up to.

and that's totally fair about asking on my opinion! i usually try to write out a very honest opinion with reasons behind it. while i don't necessarily hate people for their actions, i know they can grow and move from it. however long it takes, i think that should be an expectation if you WANT people to be better instead of repeating the same hateful spouts of reminders for what people did. people fuck up, and if they don't care to change, that's on them, though it shouldn't require an admittance of guilt or an apology every time people mention what they did.

for Stols' situation, i personally think it's all on how they change their ways to treat others and if it shows. that's it, really. not everyone will be easy to forgive them if they do return and IF there's changes. that's all on them if they do better, and i hope they do, but tumblr just isn't a safe place to unleash all of that unchecked negativity and behavior. i hope they get better and find the time to work their ways through their issues.

When i tell you i'm so confused to why I received this ask... 😶 but since you're here, here are my thoughts;

1. If anything, admin's biggest ships are vmin, yoonmin and minimoni so who are ‘you people’??? 😭 And don't get me wrong, i just love these three interactions the most and don't think they're more 'real' then the other ships, i genuinely think jimin is close with and loves them all. So i'm unsure if this is targeted at this blog or you are venting in general?

2. There had been many moments where members said things to another that made me really uncomfortable and was awkward to watch. As you mentioned, sometimes jokes do get overboard and it might not be the intention but the delivery. There are things they've said that if I were the recipient, I would be hurt (especially since I'm a sensitive snowflake fr 😭). But if my partner/friends/family were to do that to me, I can talk to them myself. I don't need strangers on the internet to go after them for me and spam them hate and death threats. BTS had shown us many times that they get upset at each other and can resolve it themselves. They can decide if it's just a joke or if it is hurtful and they want the other member to stop. Everyone has different tolerance level for jokes. @anon, i agree with you that we don't have to treat them as kids and excuse every slip-up. But as much as I've seen people defending hurtful words, I've also seen a lot of people hating on them for comments they made that no one even knows how the recipient truly feels about. I trust them to settle their own conflicts and set their own boundaries.

3. The biggest victims of the two mentioned ships by anon, are literally the three boys themselves. The amount of hate I've seen targeted at all three boys for this two ships to 'sail' always make me sick to my stomach. There are times where i wish the three of them could just stop interacting with each other, but knowing how much they do love each other, of course I would never genuinely want that for them. I've seen people not just defend mistakes, but also twist unrelated issues. All in order to fit their ship narrative, rather than what anon said about them preferring one of the members over the other? (i might be wrong tho ofc) If anyone think your ships are more important than the boys themselves, you really need a second to reevaluate. @anon, I’m truly thankful that while you seemed frustrated about the situation, you at least still stated that you like both of them even if they might have upset you at times.

hey from one nd person to another the comic where fm gordon says a slur seems kind of in poor taste. ik ur not intentionally making light of it and tht occurring in fm should be criticized but while you dont make it out to be a good thing making jokes about it and calling him a "slurboy" is kind of questionable? it makes it seem more like a plotpoint and angst rather than the creator of fm genuinely fucking up in the past (and having moved on from it)! i think exploring fm coming to terms with being nd is a good idea but this isnt the best way to do it. if you want me to explain my point more lmk if/when u post this and i will! someone already made a post abt it but it was kinda strongly worded and i wanted to approach you more calmly because i genuinely dont want to call you out or start drama or anything ;-;

i would like to know how is it in poor taste when freemind explicitly gets clocked at the very end for saying it. the entire point of the comic was to show that saying the r slur has existed in his source and is bad

im not sure how much more direct i can get, with the disclaimer/warning list growing longer and longer and out there for a huge sign that says “this au can get dark as fuck and these subject matters are treated seriously/not something to mess around with.” Like yes, there are some jokes in the asks and other comics, but that specific comic is not supposed to be “haha thats funny”. it has a serious tone using a rough sketch style bc i was super tired and wanted to vent

was it just the direct reference to it that just made people uncomfortable? because thats 100% understandable, and i made sure i tagged it appropriately (although admittedly, a little bit late since i thought the filter would catch at least the main thing)

i think what some people somehow got from it is “exploring sensitive content = endorsing said content” which! that is not the intent! i absolutely do not want people saying that word! I don’t want people thinking that is any way okay for this character to say

and people just. dont want to read for context for whatever reason. theyll start watching it and get taken aback by the slur and start blaming me ‘hey you never warned for this’ when very early on i keep mentioning over and over ‘you dont have to watch it if you dont want to! This has slurs and 2000s internet brand humor/style’ You really dont, I’m not forcing you to watch it- Literally all you need to know is either canon half life or hl/vrai. thats it. fm mostly follows hl1 with very slight changes.

so i had to make something that:

1. warns people who arent aware and dont want to go through my asks or about/warning pages (for whatever reason) and just want to see the art

2. also NOT downplay freemind’s canon assholery. listen, i kinda despise writing mean and cruel characters, theyre hard to do, and a lot of people get shit for doing it wrong or people going “character = author”

i’ve also considered leaving the bubbles blank, but then people could fill it with whatever they want, then blame me for being vague. or they’d fill it in with a different kind of slur that freemind has never used, even if he MIGHT be the type to do that. I needed to explicitly mention that it is ableist slur. There are shitty racist and other problematic jokes, but never those kinds of extreme racial slurs to my knowledge.

Although I do see your point that maybe joking about it outside of the serious stuff might not be the best route. The slurboy jokes are getting stale, and I will try a better way to remind people.

The thing that gets to me is that it feels people are more than ready to defend either Ross Scott or Gordon Freeman the fictonal character himself. I don’t??? really care for Ross Scott, so I don’t know if he’s ever brought it up specifically. I’m not really calling him out or cancelling him. Idc for some white man’s feelings, im only bringing the timeframe of That era and reworking it to fit in This current era.

And I hate to break it to people: Gordon Freeman is a blank slate character, you can project whatever the hell you want on him as long as it’s not freakshit illegal garbage. The machinimas (fm, hl/vrai) do have SOME characterization that I want to nail down. It fucking sucks when characters are ooc, and I’m trying not to do that, even if it means sacrificing some comfort. But still mostly staying in my comfort zone if that makes sense

1. i didn’t say txt is an “aspect” of bts. i mentioned them because what they are is the second bg big hit has created from scratch and the immediate successors of bts, a company that, until txt, had NOTHING but bts going for them. and even though txt is already becoming successful, the fact is that, just eyeballing it, bts brings in about 90 to 95% of big hit’s total revenue. big hit has a challenge regarding what they will do to cement themselves as a company beyond bts, and txt is the first step in that direction. when i say cash cow i mean a secondary source of income. my intention was not to disrespect txt at all, which i made clear in that textpost!! i don’t even stan txt and i’ve kept saying that they were far better than bts on the end of the year performances!!! i said, and i quote “txt ate them up because txt is a new group (that has a lot of passion and are hardworking ofc, this isn’t attacking them personally)” 

just a little caveat though, an idol group is always a money making machine for a company... like. it’s important to me that you know that. like, i hope you know that big hit isn’t looking to make groups saying “oh boy, i hope they flop! i hope they’re happy doing what they like and i will never care about the utilities :)” idol companies are literally some of the most money hungry industries because they often operate at a loss. don’t for a second think that bts and txt and any group is more than an asset for the company, whose sole purpose is to make money.

2. idols hate bts?? listen, in the entertainment industry there’s always gonna be drama and backstabbing, so i’m sure there’s animosity between many groups, i’m not naive enough to say that no one hates bts, the same way i’m sure there are plenty of idols who hate exo, who hate red velvet, who hate x or y. but the way you say this is such a delusional, paranoid way to put it. afaik, the last celeb/musician to trash talk bts publicly was befree or whatever tf his name was, that asshole rapper who mocked namjoon and yoongi and called them sellouts for joining an idol group. and that guy is a fucking failure! i think he even went to jail, didn’t he? so please, tell me who these other idols hating bts are, and where are the receipts so i can blacklist them.

3. one part of stan culture i fucking despise with my whole being is fanwars using cultural appropriation and racism as “gotcha” cards. this is a clear example of this. first you say it’s inferior to like groups who have participated in ca. alright. i will give you that. the you turn and say bts hasn’t done that and that groups such an nct who have done it recently are to blame personally, it’s not just the company’s mismanagement. okay! so by your logic, being a bts stan is superior because even though they HAVE done problematic things, they apologized. it’s really transparent how you pick and choose what is an acceptable apology and what isn’t based on your personal feelings about the group in question.

i just need to know if you are black or if you are muslim or from a minority that has been hurt by cultural appropriation, if you are then you will know that when an idol group apologizes for doing such things, it is no one’s place but their own to decide whether to accept that apology or not. i am not black, or asian, i am a latin woman who can’t tell you whether it’s okay for bts to do the things they have done. you are contradicting yourself by saying other groups who’ve done cultural appropriation are worse, and then turn around and say to me “dont pull out the bts rapline were also problematic card bc they apologised for it and havent done it again” because guess what? not everyone has forgiven bts either! they have said the n word! they have done native american culture appropriation as recently as december 2020 and neither them nor big hit apologized for that! yoongi releasing the mixtape with that jim jones sample in it was NEVER addressed by him. it was a company statement. so who are you to say that the people still hurt by yoongi’s actions, whether intentional or not, can’t talk about it and be mad at them? IT DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY. 

i am not here to pass moral judgement, that’s why i don’t bring up ca in arguments. it is not my place to say whether what nct did with the muslim aesthetic should be forgiven, the same way it’s not my place to tell people who like nct that they are “worse” for liking them. people who reduce their stanning to how many “woke points” you get based on the artists you like clearly don’t care about activism in real life, they just care about it online for fanwars. to feel better about themselves for liking “unproblematic kings” and well i have news for you, NO CELEBRITY IS UNPROBLEMATIC. bts has learned from their mistakes, but they will continue to make mistakes every once in a while, case in point, the jim jones thing and the native american teepees appropriation.

i run a yandere writing blog as well and i was wondering - is it okay to use general tags (like once that dont include the word 'yandere')? because I wouldn't want people in the general tag for the thing im writing for to come across it if might trigger them or if they'd send me hate for it or something, but im afraid it might not get seen as much if its only in yandere specific tags. do u have any advice on that? its ok if u dont, then feel free to delete this!!

Yandere, Lemon - all that stuff shouldn’t be in general tags because there could be minors and people be triggered. However, you need to put it into these tags so that people will find it. Usually, people aren’t like “Oh today I want to read a yandere!x” story, they’ll be like “Oh today I want to read an x story” and then stumble over yandere and search for that specific yandere if they liked it.

You should definitely give people a chance to not see your content by tagging yandere in the tags so they can blacklist it. However, if you are super afraid just put “YANDERE WARNING” before your story in the same post and they can still skip it seeing that (if they didn’t blacklist the tag).

Don’t take shit from anyone really tho. You are only as responsible as they are for reading your story. No one ever says they need to finish what they started despite being uncomfortable, so if they read it anyway, knowing it’s not their cup of tea then you are not more guilty than them.

You are not guilty for writing what you want until proven otherwise (aka someone points out you are glorifying something problematic or the like).

They are not guilty for not reading your stuff bc they don’t like yandere (and you can’t force them to).

You will always get h*te for writing this kind of stuff, sorry anon. Just grow a thick skin right now and stop being too scared to do your thin. Post them in the general tags and be kind to people asking you to tag something specific (e.g. blood, death, etc), but don’t bow to every whim. You need to respectfully not give a fuck tbh! If they still decide to send you an ask (and not just blocking you) after you tagged ‘yandere’ for them to block, they read the request/saw your warning before the story, and h*te on you because they read it, then honestly why should you care.

I said it at the top, lemon, yandere - all of it doesn’t belong in the tags for fandoms. Because there are always people who will get upset or triggered or are too young. But you will definitely be seen less if you don’t put them there and there are also a lot of people that want to see your content too!!

In a book shop, there aren’t just books full of bland literature about things that won’t trigger people either, they have erotica novels, crime fiction, etc. out in the open too, no matter how intense it is. And you don’t see someone complaining about the latest display of crime novels on the open street either, do you? Tumblr is as much your platform as it is everyone else's and you deserver to be here and to be seen just as much. So be respectful but stand above anyone’s Karen-complaining.

That said, it’s just my opinion. Some will share it, some will think it’s helpful, others won’t like what I just said. I could have the best response in the world and some will still go against me, and that’s fine. That is their problem, but I am not making it mine, and that’s how I think everyone should run their blog until taught better. If Tumblr were to put out a note saying that this content is banned then so be it and we have to accept it. But other people have no authority over you, don’t forget that.

Yo, that part about portrayal? Bullshit. I am speaking from experience and let me tell you, the amount of fics with Ink having a soul and being the "uwu soft kiki bean" in Russian part of the fandom is overwhelming. Plus he is portrayed as the "creator" quite a lot, so yeah. There aren't many actually good fics there

so uh, don’t diss people’s portrayals of things (even if you don’t particularly like the portrayal). fandom doesn’t need people policing what people can and can’t do because that’s not what it’s about. i just happen to prefer the canon personality over the fandom’s more popular portrayal of ink. i’m not saying people need to do things a certain way, because i (and everyone else in this fandom) are allowed to have a preference for the content we consume.

so even if i wish canon ink got more of the spotlight, im not gonna go out and start shoving canon ink in everyone’s faces, i’m gonna let people have fun with what they want. this is my blog, so i can do my own thing here, but i’m not going to go actively seek out people on their own blogs or their own fics or communities to tell them that they should stick to canon and never have fun with things.

so if the russian utmv community portrays ink like that? cool, i don’t care, i’m just not going to consume any content from that side of the fandom because my preferences differ from theirs.

my preference for errink is that of their canon personalities. all i’ve been saying these last few posts of mine is that i PREFER errink as shown in a more “canon to their personalities” way. unfortunately, the majority of errink in this fandom is NOT to my preference, so as a result, i tend not to like errink as a whole because of the way it is largely portrayed.

so like, as a general rule, if you don’t like something, JUST DON’T BOTHER WITH IT. just don’t consume any of that content, block or blacklist if you need to, but don’t go spreading hate and negativity and trying to police people around because you have a preference for something different.

pazam: a mess, truly a mess

so i usually dont do these kind of posts, i guess you could say its a call out of some sort? but i never liked that word, i prefer rather to just compile sources on WHY people would believe that a certain person is not truly as nice and understanding as they seem. consider this more of a psa post, detailing on whats going on with pazam on the sfm community, why so many people are against them.

So, a while back, tumblr user jymble made a post on the main tag stating that pazam was transphobic. they linked back to this post, which contains screenshots of pazam in a group chat stating that they do not feel comfortable with the idea of trans people. now, this did happen 9 months ago, true. however, for the record, pazam is already an adult, 24 years old, so they should have some tact. and as further and more recent events will show, they actually havent changed that much at all, at least not as they claim.

While at first this would seem like they had finally learned their lesson and apologized, the things they add on after the @s become quickly worrying. Not only do they admit to ‘have gotten into trouble with this stuff before’, meaning they have probably shown their transphobia in other places and been called out, but they also stand firmly on the fact that they will never understand it or ‘get’ it.

And of course, as jymble points out, the implication that the people they were talking to were only acting like that because they were young.

A while after this post was made, Pazam had posted an apology, and went onto contact jymble asking for the post with the evidence of their transphobic to be taken down. The reason? They were afraid people would see it and think they were still transphobic and not give them a chance.

In this more recent post, you can see the conversation play out between Pazam and jymbles. Long story short, Pazam feels that it’s unfair that that post is still up after they apologized, and jymble of course said they would rather not take it down, people deserve to know what they did and take their own conclusions, even if that involves avoiding them. How does Pazam respond? By flat out deleting the apology post. I’d love to show the apology post to give you both sides of the story but I cannot anymore, because Pazam in a very bizarre move just deleted it because they got mad a trans blogger wouldn’t take down their post with proof.

a lot to unpack here, but perhaps most notable is when jymble simply stands her ground and tells pazam she wont take down the post, pazam straight up decides, without being told to or anything, that they should take down their apology. later on, they made a post stating why they deleted the post, and saying they had ‘been forced to’.

I also would love to link it here, but as of now of writing this, like, not even an hour or so after I had seen that post, it got deleted. The only memory I have of it is a conversation I had with my boyfriend about Pazam, in which I copypasted a fragment from that post that read:

“ So for those wondering where the apology post went, I was forced to delete it. I wanted to archive it in some way so I could pull it up for reference, but there was no way I could. Also I didn’t really want to see it every time on my blog because quite honestly it’s upsetting to look at.”

There are some lies and twisting of truths here. Pazam wasn’t forced to delete it, they decided they should do it as a way to somehow get back at jymble. And the excuse that it was upsetting for them to look at is just inexcusable, what matters most, letting people know of what youve done and that youre sorry, or just never addressing the situation?

But, well, I’m just hoping you’ll take my word for it. As you see, Pazam has officially deleted ANY traces of acknowledging this situation on their blog.

This worries me. If Pazam is truly as concerned that they will be seen as transphobic as they claim, why are they deleting anything that could give them a chance of showing their own side of the story?

Now, that is the end, for now, of Pazam’s history with transphobia. However! It is not the end for some other very shady things.

Namely, Pazam has consistently whitewashed characters from Smile For Me, specially Kamal, and when called out on it, simply deletes the asks.

Want to know how I know this?

I sent them an ask myself. I had come across this picture of Boris and Kamal:

And I knew that this wasn’t right. I can understand using light colors and doing watercolor, but if they can make Boris’ hair brown and vivid enough, why not Kamal? He looks like another character completely, or like he’s deathly sick! 

So I sent them an anonymous ask, perhaps a bit exhasperated, true, and my wording could be better. It went something like: “i am begging you to draw kamal with darker skin”.

I waited, checked. But nothing came of it. They never answered it.

Pazam flat out ignored when they were told they had drawn a canonically brown man with skin way too light. Not even a lone text post saying ‘hey anon, i dont agree with you’ or ‘hey anon im sorry it wont happen again’. Nothing. No word, no opinion.

And with this situation going on with them evading responsibility, I can’t say I’m fully surprised.

And, yet another thing. People had expressed concern over the fact they had drawn their Flower Kid, who is 17, in very intimate and close positions with Dr. Habit. It included nuzzling faces, cuddling in bed together, wearing his coat...

And they did hear the claims this time. As of now, their Flower Kid is 24, according to them.

Except... They do not look 24. At. All.

this is a 12 year old. at best. short body, stubby legs, big head. those are all attributes of a very young character, usually children. like, legitimately, thats how childrens anatomy is in real life. the younger the person, the bigger their head is in proportion to their body.

We have already had an adult trying to justify drawing their flower kid who barely looked like an adult if at all in intimate situations with Habit. Let’s not let it slide by again.

And yes, I’m aware Pazam claims that those pictures were not supposed to be interpreted as romantic, ‘only platonic fluff’ and that they intend to keep it that way, but I have talked to my boyfriend who is a survivor and he said it very well could be a case of someone just trying to cover their tracks.

BUT, all that being said, maybe this one particular instance could be just us being wary. Still, it does not diminish all that they have done, specially ignoring the whitewashing claims.

What you are going to do with this information, I do not know. Maybe you don’t care and will keep reblogging their content. Maybe you’re disgusted by them. But I’m just here to give you the facts. Personally though, I’m not willing to give them much of a chance after the way they’ve behaved. They are 24 years old, three years older than me, and I think I could do a better job of handling a situation like this, frankly.

back when I first listened tma (months before s4 started airing) I thought they were “okay” in the sense that martin’s crush was cute and interesting to see, but personally i think jon had much more chemistry with… well, anyone else, no offense, and that martin’s crush was completely unrequited

when s4 kicked in it had jon worrying over him and trying to talk and even gouge his eyes out with him and it was treated like he reciprocitated his feelings? which? I had trouble believing? It Could be read like that but for me it made much more sense that jon was feeling increasingy Pretty Desperate and Very Guilty for many things (struggling w/ his humanity & monsterhood, basira & melanie being stuck in the archives and also being angry at him, the death of people most importantly his former Friends) and martin was 1. the only remaining member from the original assistant crew and 2. falling into the lonely, its no wonder he was fucking worried about him and wanted him to be safe!! Jon absolutely cares abt martin, but still for me it still was hard to believe that he had a crush!

even if i were to believe that by the end of that season he had romantic feelings towards him (which, as you probably had picked from this ranting, i do not), i’d still think about it as “he’s desperate for something that grounds him and he cares lots for martin, but they barely know each other.” and thats… important! I cant remember a single conversation between them where they were on genuine good terms (except when he asks him if he’s a ghost and where he confesses that he’s scared), they cant understand each other’s jokes, i’d hardly call them friends by the end of season 3, i dont Understand When or Why jon would have started to develop a crush on him in s4 considering he barely talked with him at all!! (i dont ask much! some common ground and chemistry!)

sorry, im getting sidetracked; having all that in mind i could be like “okay, whatever” if in this season they could have more development in that regard, getting to know each other and finally getting to the same page, BUT THEN EP 1? 2? jon straight up says that he loves him and its like??????? I simply dont buy it! i dont! im sorry but i cant!

EVEN WITH ALL THAT i could simply be neutral about it! but people on this fandom push it like its the best thing of tma and even sell tma as this romantic story which?? is?? not?? tma is GOOD, it has GOOD CHARACTERS, GOOD CONCEPTS, GOOD HORROR STORIES, but the ROMANCE of it was poorly handled imo

so yeah, TLDR: I don’t think their so called romance was well handled over the seasons. You’re right anon. I was actually thinking of an alternative while I was working today and was actually gonna ask and offer like a special tag for me when I like bash/complain about Cody? Since like legit the only time I get like this is on Wednesday’s on particularly Cody centric stuff on the show. Which depending on the episode can be a grab bag. Like legit I dont want this to be a reoccurring thing and im just tired of it. Like I honestly didnt give a shit about any if this cody stuff until I got the anons calling me out on it.
