current obsession: unfortunately the vampire book series i have been like talking about so much, silver under nightfall and its sequel court of wanderers !! i am thinking of what i wouldve done differently in the sequel fkskfksf (also coming to the horrid realization that they were like setting up pegging but i dont think my guys ever got pegged. whats the point. truly. heres my editors notes. why didnt the main character get pegged? like theres so many things that were set up and mentioned and that didnt come to fruition and thats not my only critique its not JUST about pegging. but the lack of pegging is like representative of many of the issues i have with the book. why didnt he get pegged. they bring it up MULTIPLE times and yet we never saw the strap. they describe it in universe as being "shafted" and YEAH i certainly feel shafted !!! i need answers!!!!!!!! im OPENING my googledocs and writing the fic where he gets pegged !!!!!) this will like pass in a couple days im sure. i think. i hope

Idk why I thought about this last night... but not just quirk genetics but also physical traits and how they work in mha

For example, whenever I see future kids or whatever they're called, they're usually a 50/50 split between the parents with hair, skin, build, physical details and their quirk is some kind if perfect pairing between parent whirls. But we know from canon that this is way less likely to happen and genetics work differently there

Just look at the Todoroki family. It seems like ice and Rei's traits are more dominant overall with hair color and quirks (we can only guess at Fuyimi or Natsuo's). All the kids ended up with at least some white in their hair. Natsuo has zero red hair while Fuyumi has small red patches, but they both also have grey eyes - Rei' characteristics. Endeavor literally had a quirk marriage to have a perfect eugenics baby that's a 50/50 split between him and Rei and it took 4 kids for him to sort of get what he wanted.

Unfortunately we dont have much data or info on many of the parents, so I'm just looking at what we do have.

Next is the Bakugou fam. In our world, blonde hair is a recessive trait meaning darker hair colors will almost always win out. The only way for parents with blonde/brown hair to have a kid with blonde hair is for both parents to pass down blonde alleles that might be hidden further up in the family tree. This also means that two blonde parents cannot have a brunette kid bc both have recessive blonde alleles.

Masaru has brown eyes and brown hair while Mitsuki has blonde hair and red eyes. Katsuki got all of her genes which means it was either luck or mha universe has different dominant and recessive alleles than we do. Maybe blonde hair is dominant there. Considering how many characters also have red eyes (Katsuki, kirishima, shigaraki, stain, iida, tokoyami, Erie, and a few others) we could maybe say that red eyes are also dominant traits but we cant know for sure without seeing how genetics work. Theres also the fact that sometimes hair and eye colors change for whatever reason... like how shigaraki's eyes were grey and hair was black before his quirk came in and they turned red and blue respectively.

Idk just thinking about genes and quirks and wondering about how different traits are more or less likely to be passed onto future generations

when luna first met five (the visitation) she fainted in front of them due to it being her first time being shunted around the timeline

she quickly realises that this means that eleven knew she was going to pass out and didnt say anything... which means every incarnation from five onwards knows that she passed out in front of them

she's most worried about meeting six, he's going to have the most creative flowery insults for her about that

speaking of five - luna had a crush on them when she was a kid due to thinking that they were a woman

when she found out that they weren't a woman (thanks to the 'sexual awakening' scene from black orchid) she was a bit embarrassed

instead of the six & peri comment she accidentally drops this when under the truth field in time of the doctor meaning that eleven, twelve and thirteen all know this (so do fourteen & fifteen but im waiting to write those two later down the track lol)

all of the doctors know that luna is a lesbian. she hasnt come out to any of them. maybe she's made it obvious? she doesn't know

she does get to meet sappho with the first doctor and he kind of went "...oh that explains a lot"

speaking of one - luna gets along best with susan, vicki and dodo. they all try to get into trouble together

luna always ends up stealing the doctor's clothes - she's walked around in the original four scarf (not the second one because someone ripped it up), as well as seven's sweater vest, eight's original coat and nine's leather jacket

luna isn't sure if the reason eight, war and nine all wear leather jackets is because of her or because of ace. or because of none of those things

the doctor has met the seeker and insulted it. several times. they dont tell luna that theyve done that 'cause they dont want to put luna in danger, but they will call the seeker "a pathetic egocentric moron with delusions of grandeur and hypocricy"

luna frequently wonders if the doctor is aware that their life is a tv show because of how little they care about the fourth wall

SORRY I TOOK AGES GETTING TO THIS i wanted to answer it on my pc for typing reasons. umm i know i havent really talked about any of them but since i went on a dive into looking into my neph lore yesterday ill tell you about her!!! (link is art of her lolz)

so baseline info about the mc server i was going to do with irls because thats where she started; we were all making silly characters to play over i think it was summer break just because we could. basic thing is a lot of things would happen to our character, then something very major, then the next day they would wake up in the mc world. so everyone was from a different universe basically. i think each lineup was like... two were aliens/alien-esk but each from different little worlds <- not super sure, one was more from a modern world, one was from a pjo universe, then neph was from a old time-y royal thang. (100% chose that because i had techno;s crown on my skin and wanted an excuse to keep it also because i was very into royal aus when i made her)

OK so basically her story is like. any royal au you'd ever read inthe world. she grew up with her parents heavily disinterested in her, leaving her teachers to deal with her bc they were like who care we just need you to wear the crown one day and rule so we can chill forever. acted decently the same with her brother who is like 4 years younger than her or something. who cares this is not about him !!

her story is a lot of just being ignored and being both understanding and vaguely spiteful over it whatever, she deals, does her school yada yada. one day she ends up getting pissed off after her birthday is ignored once again so he goes to the royal guard and is like hiii! train me :3 and her being prince he was like. yeah ok ? sure. whatever. uerrmm she trains, shes like awesome really, she gets better than the guard over the time its cool its whatever shes just cool like that. Whhile she's training she meets one of the guards, also in training, her name was evelyn . You already know they fall in love 🔥 but its secret they cant really tell about it because of a lot of reasons ehhh whatever. years pass its pretty cool they also get caught a few times but dont Amen. changes on neph's 21st birthday though, her fuckass dad catches them kissing, drags both of them to the court in front of the queen and is like GUESSS WAHT.!

the king and queen order for evelyn to be beheaded. and she is, in that moment, and neph has to watch it. neph is ordered to be exiled but shes like you literally just killed the love of my life <- does some cool quick thang and yanks a sword from a guards hand and starts demolishing the court room. she doesnt get away unscathed obviously, shes a little fucked up and bloody but she does not care she keeps going 🔥anyways she kills her mum and dad, steals her dads crown, then dips. and then yay wow she wakes up in the mc world !!!!!

theres some other things in-between there, and even more about her after the whole dropping into the mc world but ehhh... u get her baseline lore thats ok. i willll say she does fall in love again and is so sick and twisted over it ❤️Sorry neph

Fighter Pilot AU - All the character's roles in the storyline so far (Pt. 1/3)

Hello everyone! I decided to organize my notes app more by adding everyone's roles to this post. So far, this AU includes Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Shanks, Garp, and Mihawk. I hope I can add in Koby somehow bc Luffy/Koby has my heart but as a newbie to the OP canon storyline I'll have to read more of the manga first since I just barely got to the Water 7 arc...

Anyways, heres the masterlist of major traits, roles, flying habits, etc. that I can think of for Luffy, Zoro, and Nami! Enjoy!

Luffy: Luffy is a fucking lunatic while flying...you know the scene at the end of maverick where the enemy 5th gen pull that free flying shit and use gravity/steering alone to evade fucking missles??? yeah, luffy does that shit. bro takes "dont think just do" too literally and is somehow the top of his class bc of it. Shanks definitely taught him that.

Luffy is Zoro's best friend and also close to Sanji, but in this AU, Luffy and Zoro are either childhood friends or just happened to be in the same company together for basic training and have stuck together since then. Maybe in the past, Zoro was Luffy's nav until Nami joined the group, and then Zoro flew solo afterward like he wanted.

He's the youngest of the group for this series as well, at least under 21 but above 18. In modern standards, enlisted soldiers will be 18 or older for this AU, but I also dont think Luffy is old enough to drink. That being said, Luffy doesn't care for smoking or alcohol anyway since he prefers to eat all the snacks he wants lmao

I also believe in adoptive dad Shanks supremacy in this AU. Yes, I know who Luffy's canon dad is. No, I will not be following canon. Canon is simply a suggestion at this point, and this entire AU is self indulgent as hell anyway. Shanks being luffy's father figure means that having to spectate Luffy in the marines is both reassuring and also two seconds away from giving him a panic attack but we'll talk more about that in his own entry later.

Zoro: Zoro joined the marines with Kuina the moment they both grew out of foster care. Even though they were both in separate locations for basic training (Zoro in the east blue and Kuina was probably in the north blue) they constantly kept in contact. Kuina is essentially Zoro's big sister, and he looked up to her a LOT and is the main reason why he even became a pilot.

In the beginning, Zoro joined to be in infantry (or infantry equivilant) and Kuina joined to be a pilot (I can see her being a fighter pilot for sure, but she would also probably do well as a bomber or even a test pilot in the beginning). Kuina would always talk about her achievements and adventures when she was legally allowed to, and Zoro would do the same. After a year, when they were setting up a meeting date to visit each other since Zoro would be stationed in the North Blue with her, he gets the news that she passed away.

During his assignment in the North Blue, which was originally supposed to be 2 years long, he was pulled out a year early. This is when he meets Mihawk. This meeting will most likely be when Zoro decides to change career paths and after months of arguing with admin and the world government he can finally change jobs to be a pilot and finish what Kuina started: Becoming the world's greatest fighter pilot.

Zoro flies like he fights in the manga/anime. Defensive and only offensive when his squad is threatened. This is how he gets a confirmed kill after resuming his assignment in the North Blue under his new job title. Although he's the newest to piloting in the top gun program in this AU, he's extremely gifted, and I also believe zoro is smarter than people make him out to be as well.

Nami: Nami originally became a pilot for the pay (irl in the U.S. pilots make decent pay as far as I know, so im basing it off that knowledge. Piloting can have diverse pay, though). She wanted to send money to her family to help keep them afloat, especially since their home relies on agriculture for income. Although she prefers nav over being a fighter pilot, her skills caught the eyes of a few top gun instructors, and so she used that to be able to get accepted into the program. Her, Usopp, and Robin bond over this, despite Usopp being a talented fighter pilot as well.

Nami is also extremely smart, not only academically but also practically. Her street smarts, as I like to call them, are extremely useful to the friend group, especially when training and doing mock combat exercises. Zoro actually respects this about her and grows to become a close friend of hers as well. In this AU, when Zoro doesnt know how to talk to the men about something, he'll usually go to Nami since not only is she great at reading people but also doesnt sugar coat her thoughts or feelings.

I like to think that Luffy also latches onto her as well, and when she attempts to leave the program, Luffy immediately refuses to let her and gets the rest of the group to encourage her to stay. She's always had a rough time trusting people, but the friends she's made out of her squad members have helped her open up a lot more.

@wibble-wobbegong i am half awake and im putting this here so i dont forget bc i saw one of ur posts about max and mike briefly and smthn abt mike getting stuck into the ud and i might be totally off base and looking WAY too deep into shit but. mike and max might actually also parallel two of my favourite silmarillion characters, Maglor and Maedhros- those two even have the same hair colours as mike and max And similar personalities.

however im having trouble figuring out who is who. maedhros has red hair, yes, but his death is a self-sacrificial active suicide where he jumps into a pit of fire and then is sentenced to the Everlasting Darkness in death until the oath he took is fulfilled by somebody else which ties more into mike imo whereas maglor is doomed to roam the shores of middle earth basically for eternity. maedhros is more openly snarky than maglor, but maglor is more passive aggressive imo.

maedhros is also described as having been 'reborn' after he was captured by sauron (much like max being attacked by henry and then being trapped even after el revives her). however, maedhros ALSO loses a hand, which makes me think of mike losing an arm in the s3 dnd game. Im also staring at mike and ‘hellfire club’ and him being burnt when jason lights the hellfire picture on fire & how maedhros cast himself into a chasm of flame.

but heres where it gets even weirder: maglor and ARWEN parallel eachother too. they essentially have a very similar fate although for different reasons. arwen is a half-elf and therefore can choose a mortal fate, which means that a.) she will have to wander the shores of middle earth until she dies eventually and b.) she will not pass into the halls of mandos in death and instead will face the 'fate of men' which is generally mysterious. Maglor, on the other hand, did not fulfill his oath (just like maedhros), and so, will be sent to the Everlasting Darkness when he dies (just like arwen he isnt getting the ‘right’ afterlife), but in the meantime, still wanders the shores of middle earth.

this is beginning to smell like 'mike gets stuck in the ud'. OR 'max is stuck in the ud/void for the next while'. im leaning towards max almost, because while mike has arwen parallels, the max-arwen parallels are more blatant.

and here's the thing: i know that st seems to reference lotr more than the silmarillion, but maedhros and maglor are some of the ONLY silmarillion-only characters who are still very directly tied to LOTR, as maedhros and maglor raised Elrond together, and Elrond's knowledge of Maglor's fate is what causes him to fear arwen suffering the same fate. so maglor and arwen are paralleled, and maglor is also technically arwen's 'adoptive' grandfather. So somebody like the duffers/the st team, who are DEFINITELY lotr fans, are VERY likely aware of maedhros and maglor, it’s not like maedhros and maglor are some niche characters from the corners of the silmarillion.

SO! I'm not sure if Max is Maedhros or if Mike is Maedhros or same with who is Maglor, but they could also be mix and matching elements of both of them for each of them.

and like. im thinking about all of the 'deal' imagery with running up that hill and 'making a deal with god' because thats LITERALLY what maedhros and maglor did. The gods of tolkien (the valar) are literally SPECIFICALLY known for living on a hill,  and maedhros and maglor, alongside the rest of their brothers and their father, swore an irrevocable oath to retrieve the silmarils (which, THOSE arent just gems- they’re representative of LIGHT, they literally hold the light of the two trees inside of them, theyre very very much a literal and metaphorical representation of light in tolkien), and this vow was literally like a deal, that they would retrieve the silmarils and would not rest until all three were retrieved and when tolkiens says ‘they could not rest,’ what he actually means is ‘no afterlife for them’. And so like i mentioned earlier,  maedros’ death is a self-sacrificial active suicide where he jumps into a pit of fire and then is sentenced to the Everlasting Darkness in death, possibly until the oath he took is fulfilled by somebody else somehow buts thats not full clear- he cannot even go to the afterlife until his oath is finished, he is stuck in limbo in the Everlasting Darkness.

Smthn smthn max and mike possibly both trapped somewhere, maybe in diff places (mike in the void like maedhros vs max in the UD somehow/henry’s mind, like arwen and maglor wandering the shores), cant come back until they get the light (the silmarils)/their good memories smthn smthn making a deal imagery smthn smthn swapping places imagery

idk what the full tie in is yet. but. many thoughts.

i get that people genderbend male character to be female in mxtx stories (esp if those ppl are wlw) because the majority of characters are male and it is focused on mlm content. so i support wlw simping over cool necromancer lesbians you go girlies, but in general i tend to stay away from genderbend stuff because sooooo much of it is made by cis ppl and it can be a bit transphobic? it also a lot of the times falls into the cishet gender stereotype shit of "women big boobie slim waist small big lips big eyes, men big buff strong macho 8 pack square" which is! oh no cringe!

yeah EXACTLY like my thoughts too. bc the vast majority of genderbending made by cis ppl really is just. like you said. biological gender stereotype shit. i feel like most trans people i see are made pretty uncomfortable by this, and i can totally see why, so i am too. but at the same time i DO understand wlw who want more content with girls/wlw characters esp when there are so few to begin with. so like im kinda willing to give wlw the benefit of the doubt in this case even though i dont rly like to interact with it myself. but also, my beloved sisters in christ... baihe exists

the only genderbending ill really interact with is works with sqx, he xuan*, and hua cheng like since theyre the ones that are shown to or mentioned to change gender in canon. (ling wen too, tho tbh i dont rly care about male!ling wen lmfao, just for the sole reason that, well. i am a lesbian. tho i do have to say the lore behind her male form is actually rather compelling and i think if mxtx were more skilled and open to writing analysis about gender, it could lead to a very thoughtful and nuanced discussion of how ling wen views herself, rather than just if she looks like a cis woman shes a woman if she looks like a cis man shes a man. because iirc she only shapeshifted to get the extra power she had in her male form? that doesnt mean that she is now a man, but in those scenes the book automatically refers to her as such. would love an extra about ling wen's self image and gender. but no, we had to get the statue sex and weird underage amnesia stuff 🙄)

thoughts on fablehaven coming to live action

WARNING. i ended up going on a rant that isnt totally relevant to a live action fablehaven but enjoy!

i would love to see more fablehaven content and possibly bring more people into this universe by a live action show or movie! and hopefully they would find actors that fit the characters’ looks and personality too.

on the other hand though… a lot might not live up to what i’ve already imagined in my head. it could prove to be very hard to find good actors to play these characters.

i think someone else pointed out how bad dragon cgi can be and this gives good reason to fear an adaptation of SotDS. If these books are going to be made into a show or movies then i want them brought to justice and unfortunately that doesnt always happen.

i’m not sure how much the live action should stick to the source material because some things could be cut and some things could go into more detail than they did in the books. (one thing they should cut is the kids going with errol in the second book bc that just sends a bad message😂)

i knoww these are kids books with kids at the center but at the same time i wouldnt mind more time jumps with them growing up between books (especially between fablehaven and dragonwatch) some things i feel i would take better if more time had passed and if the character were older

for instance, seth going into grunhold or being on the mission to wyrmroost. i feel like i would take that situation a bit better if seth had matured both physically and mentally from the boy who opened the window on midsummers eve and that seth wasnt just consistently being arrogant and ignoring everybody’s warnings like a child would but instead had grown up and when he did defy everyone people wouldnt say its bc he’s a dumb kid but would actually consider his actions to be that of a brave man who took the time to think about what he was doing [not saying that seth isnt brave but it is often shown that seth has some selfish or childish reasons for doing things]

i dont mean to say they should get rid of all his faults bc a big part of seth’s character is making mistakes and learning from them. (also the consequences of seth’s mistakes make up most of the plot😂) but cmon he consistently defies everyone bc he thinks he knows better which whether or not he does help in a situation it can be annoying to see someone like this get their way all the time. i’d like more maturity shown with seth character in between his crazy stunts to break up all the impulsiveness.

all the crazy stuff that they go through all happens in the span of like 3 years? theyve thought each other were dead, actually watched people die, suffered some serious betrayal, and faced death numerous times so yeah give these kids some time to breathe! idk if im alone in thinking they should physically grow up through the series bc it is a kids’ series with them in the spotlight but im just sayin.

would it be sending a bad message if they did physically grow up though? would that be like telling kids you CANT change or be better until youre older? bc obviously children can learn from a mistake pretty quickly but i just feel like with all that happens itd be better if they aged more than they did in the books.

also if they did adapt the books wouldnt they have to make the characters older? bc it would take a while to make a tv series or movies and the actors would obviously age right?

(Sorry if theyre ooc, i’m still new to writing for this fandom)

-Ok so

-Poor baby is a little dense but hes not stupid

-It might take him a little bit to notice

-You guys were at this fancy UA event with a lot of reporters and heros and stuff

-And you were being interviewed and stuff like most UA students had been (especially class 1-A bc of the villain attacks)

-And Kiri is having this excited conversation with a pro hero

-And when he looks over at you he expects you to be done with the interview by now

-But you aren’t done

-Even worse he sees you looking really uncomfortable

-You were struggling to make eye contact and your responses were short and simple

-As he made his way over to you he heard one of the questions

-“Some people say your hero costume doesn’t show enough skin. Why is this?”

-Ooh baby boy felt his blood boil

-Of course it was a social event but even with that he walked straight past the reporter and lightly put his hand on your shoulder

-You looked so relived

-Kiri gave a very fake smile as he kindly told the reporter, “Sorry to steal her from you but we have business elsewhere.”

-Without waiting for a response he gently led you over to a quieter spot

-The audacity of some reporters i swear to god

-You guys were hanging out with Bakusquad

-You didn’t hang out with most of the people there on a normal basis so you felt a little out of place

-Of course you didn’t try to look uncomforatble because these were Kaminaris friends and he obviously hung out with them for a reason

-The only other one you interacted with constantly was Mina

-And that was for when the girls of class 1-A had their sleepovers (if you dont identify as a girl just know they invite you bc you are awesome and get a special pass)

-Anyways Bakugo was getting passionate about something

-And with Bakugo Passion=Anger or somthing

-You knew that it was how he dealt with emotions and you didnt blame him

-But at the same time it put you a little on edge

-Bc you know angry men yelling is terrifying

-Denki is probably on of the least observant out of all of the characters

-Poor Chargebolt only noticed you were uncomfortable when you awkwardly and subtly grabbed his hand

-He looked over at you like ???

-and then hes like 🥺

-Says you had a study session planned

-You explained it was just kind of loud and overwhelming and that you did enjoy being around his friends

-In the future he would keep a closer eye on you when Bakugo explodes like that (literally or figuratively)

-This man is so fine and yalls need to start simping for him

-He had asked you to come find healthy study snacks with him

-This is how he shows love ok he makes sure you are living a healthy life style

-Anyways you went off to grab something from a few isles over and you promised it wouldn’t take long

-So of course Iida was concerned when it took you more than 2-3 minutes because it wasn’t a big or busy store

-It was just the local grocer

-When he went to investigate with healthy snacks piled in his hands he was flabbergasted to see you talking with a man whos looming prescence towered over you

-Hears “So are you doing anything later today?”

-saw the uncomfortable way you tried to shrink away from the man

-he was immediately jumping in like any good civil person would do

-“Excuse me sir that is my s/o you are talking to”

-Oh boy this man had the audacity

-Remember in like… the second episode when he saw Bakugo in trouble and immediately jumped in while looking extremely freaked out?

-Anyways you were hanging out in the common room with a small sprain you got during training

-And Mineta approached you

-Ok this is a mineta hate acc first of all

-And he struck up a conversation with you and it was kinda okay at first

-And you were just like ‘I want to leave’

-But you couldn’t move easily

-All you could do was pray

-and your prayers were answered as Deku showed up looking for you

-And this boy was the fastest on picking up on the tone of the conversation

-He silently walked up, picked you up bridal style and just walked away while shooting a glare at Mineta

-The minute you were clear of the little pervert Deku was immediately bombarding you with questions asking if you were okay and apologizing

-You were kinda flustered that he had to fully pick you up, you tried to tell him that you could walk

-But he just shook his head and said you needed rest

-Anyways the next day Momo gave Mineta a black eye bc you told her what he said about her
