Okay, but I'm sure some have noticed it's been a hot minute since I've done some drawing, and there's a bunch of reasons! But, for what I am willing to share:

Simply an art block. I don't know what to draw. I haven't been pulled into any doodle or illustration ideas too much lately and have been suffering from an ever-so-light burnout. Any recent art I've done is character based (like designs or refs), so not really anything anyone would be too interested in here. I have been sitting on doing a line-up of the hazbin gang to actually figure out how I would draw everyone, so maybe it'd be good to get around to doing that?

To follow up on that hazbin line-up idea and burnout, I think I've been getting a bit burned out on Hazbin. Not to say I'm leaving the fandom or not to expect any hazbin art in the future at all (who knows, a piece for the series might strike inspo). BUT, now would be a good time to remind that this is very much not a Hazbin-specific blog, it's a "whatever strikes my fancy at the moment" blog. And lately, while still a bit in a Hazbin mood, I've definitely been steering into other and new hyperfixations. It's honestly impressive I stayed in a Hazbin mood this long, I'm a very "get into a different fandom every few months" sort of person. Unfortunately, with a new fixation means new characters to get over drawing (I get very awkward drawing canon characters, it took a while to even attempt drawing for Hazbin haha). But, I'll probably push through and make art for it? I dunno, we'll see. I already wrote two stories on Ao3, so there's that, I guess?

So yeah, not dead but have been stumped on inspiration to draw and a bit Hazbin-ed out. I'll probably get back into it when season 2 comes out. Who knows, I could totally get back into it before then. But considering a large, if not most of everyone, who follows me (which I've never mentioned but holy shit, there's definitely more than I ever thought I'd get. Thank you so much!!) is for Hazbin, I figured it's fair to remind and warn that this is more of a multi-fandom blog.

Hopefully, I'll get more out of this funk with the art soon! I just wanted to give a quick update and offer a semi-lazy doodle.

theres never a time where the Scooby Gang hating on Scrappy will make sense, i feel. like think about it. in-universe, what did Scrappy ever do to make them hate him that isnt what he already did when they used to like him?

literally all the jokes in modern Scooby Doo where the entire gang is like "oh we don't talk about Scrappy ¬¬" feel so meanspirited for something that just literally does not make any sense.

the ONE TIME Scrappy did something evil was because James Gunn hated him for no reason other than "he was written into the show at a time where the writing was less good", and it was in a movie that isnt even canon to the cartoons, so even that cant be a reason for the characters to hate him.

like i dunno, i might not care about Scrappy himself that much (i dont dislike him either) but what i do care about, is that the characters are basically mandated to never ever bring up a part of the series' history unless its to shit on it for absolutely no reason and act OUT OF CHARACTER at that to be mean to a character that is literally a CHILD, where the writers could instead like, write Scrappy better? the writers could bring Scrappy back and make him better as a character instead of just ragging on his existence every time they get to even aknowledge he existed.

like they brought back Flimflam, a character from a show Scrappy existed in, and a character most people also agreed SUCKED in that show and was just as if not more annoying than Scrappy.... yeeeet Flimflam was written better there, and people really liked him in that movie. and yet still, the only time they mention Scrappy in that movie is like "Hey, where's Scrappy?" and everyone answering "Who's Scrappy??" like COME ON, you FIXED FLIMFLAM and couldnt bother doing the same with the one most overhated character? so overhated, the trope that means "character everbody hates" is called THE SCRAPPY.

but yeah i also feel like he would try to actively avoid the whole school stuff. he wouldn't want to be asked with unnecessary questions about his past, lifestyle, etc.

he already wishes to live a normal life, after all.

he's still healing himself; both physically and mentally. and whatever your role might be around this time-- either as his best friend or even as his girlfriend, you would've support him either way.

just know that ash appreciates you a LOT. even when sometimes he doesn't even know on how to express it that well :")

okay so if the romance route happens somehow, he would be taking you out on a casual date during your break days or even his. depending on your schedules.

but his protective and cautious instinct is still present as always. he wouldn't want anything to potentially harm you when he's trying to move on from his old life with you.

his trauma and his past still haunt him at times, so he's just so, so lucky and grateful that you're there with him even during his lowest moments.

if he ever works or something, you probably will join him so you both work together in a way ( if it's smth you're able to do ).

you both def would live together if you two finally got some stable jobs ( or if you're still studying somehow, part-time job then ); separating the bills smth like that so you both would pay in a fair amount for the monthly rent and even for the groceries stuff.

omg dunno why but the idea seemed comforting-

he wouldn't mind for anything else bc if it meant to live a normal life with you, then so be it.

-How I feel about this character

HES SO FUN such a great introduction to the kind of character ty likes to play and in general a huge part of what makes pop so fun... such a good twisty turny arc of being a mentor figure and yet not and accepting your past mistakes as part of who you are in the eyes of others but still being able to a. see that you have done wrong and b. righting the wrongs that people want you to n letting the ones that others cant forgive you for lie rather than try and go out of your way to push yourself into their life again.

-All the people I ship romantically with this character

ehhhh honestly not that many considering? like there's a line in the epilogues thats like "my eidolon is dating someone?" which to me reads very much as a flip on well why is this a necessary thing for An Ending to do wrt characters. which informs quite a bit of my thoughts re quentin and his relationships. i do like thinking about quentin and henry though not in an outright relationship and in an au where canon doesnt happen i can see this weird very unstable polycule happening with the rest of the tower gang. this does not end well. nuclear fallout. also in extension of og quentins deal with henry i think its funny to imagine a romcom situation thing with president stoker & quincy where to stoker this is a death note ass scenario of trying to avoid quentin but also never really caring to push him away so much that its an outright rejection of his advances.

-My non romantic OTP with this character

I LOVE THINKING ABOUT URSULA-URSA AND QUENTIN IN HOW DEVOTION AND SELF-SACRIFICE AND WEIRD ASS HISTORY TOGETHER PUSHES THEM AWAY FROM EACH OTHER WHILE ALSO BEING A KEY PART OF HOW THEY DEFINE THEMSELVES NOW AND !!!! like i dont think of it in terms of an otp or whatever but theyre for sure one of the top dynamics i think of when i think back on pop s1... i have to relisten to pops2 as well cause the stuff with q and sloane was also just. so good. i love them. theyre so fun to see bounce off each other

uhhh dunno if theres a lot of Unpopular Opinions to be had when im not even sure of the Popular Opinion on him. like the things i have to say about where he ended up were also talked about by the creators so like. shrugs. i think i could get along with him in real life?

Hello hello hello!!! I have returned!! I'm not abandoning this like I have 99% of my other projects! (I was then shot 57 times)

Shooters turn! Hooray!!! He's been drawn up for a bit, I just procrastinated colouring him whoops.

Okay! So, outfit (namely the top) is the same ol' thing; just with duller colours so he doesn't stick out like a neon blue thumb. It was the biggest issue with his design in my opinion. I like the fit, hated how bright the colours were! So we changed that!

Also, he's got himself a messenger bag. No real reason for this one, he just seems like he'd be the type of person to carry all his stuff in one (me core). Id like to think he just found it and took it for himself, eventually decorating it with patches and pins.

I've also given him a sort of ghillie suit cape thing, having repurposed an actual one because he didn't want to wear a full suit + got way to hot in it. So the cape was his work around for that. I dunno, I just think his priority is being as stealthy as possible. He seems like the person to be aiding from the sides and not direct battle.

Also also also! The necklace!! We're sticking to canon with his whole 'fiancé left me cuz I gamed too hard' thing - though might tweak it a little to give some actual reason behind it. The video game thing can just be what he says to avoid the truth.

Aaand we also did his mask! I thought it'd be cool to do those alongside the character (excluding Sheriff who doesn't own a proper one). Since the rework makes them more of a prominent thing and not just a "oh yeah we have these!"

(Ignore the fact I didn't colour the nose)

The mask is still pretty similar to his canon one, even with some differences in the shape, eyes and colouring. I wanted to make it look like he'd had a go at customising it. Namely with paint and completely covering the eye where his eyepatch is (in this, his eye patch thing is just that; a fancy eye patch he made to "look cooler than the boring pirate aah ones"(Edit: it also can function like a flashlight!)). Like most things I do, there's no reason for this other than I thought it'd be funky.

I believe that's all I got to say about him design wise! Brutux'll be next as soon as I figure out what I want to do with him.

Tweaked Ankle Au

I dunno what younger me was on, but was looking at old google docs and found this old mc:sm au

Basically it goes like Ellegaard loses her leg sometime before the order is set to fight the enderdragon. Because of this they take a break for a while, letting Ellegaard build her prosthetic and learn how to walk again. This break causes tension with the group slowly fracturing and becoming more and more unstable.

Now onto the fight with the ender dragon, it goes the same as in canon with them freezing up and Soren deciding to use the command block to despawn it. This completely breaks the group with Ellegaard blaming herself, Ivor blaming Soren, Gabriel fighting to keep everyone together with magnus conflicted and unsure on what to feel. Soren thinks he did what was best but isn’t so sure. The group splits with it going the same way as canon, with the exception of Ellegaard hiding that she only has one leg away from people.

Now onto mc:sm season 1, Olivia goes to find Ellegaard, she does what’s needed to sneak into the dome of concentration. Except when there she find’s Ellegaard fiddling with her malfunctioning prosthetic. Olivia is shocked but brushes past it trying to explain about the witherstorm, Ellegaard, panicking tries to stand up and ends up falling onto Olivia causing her to faint. Even more panicked Ellegaard anxiously waits for Olivia to wake, when Olivia does, Ellegaard promises anything to make sure Olivia doesn’t tell. Olivia still stunned tells her they need her help fighting a witherstorm, Ellegaard agrees.

The story goes the same with the exception of Ellegaard being kinder to Olivia. Then in episode 3 when the gang is leaving Soren’s fortress instead of Ellegaard lying about having a tweaked ankle to not be the one who sets off the f bomb, she’s genuine with her prosthetic malfunctioning and having complete locked up. The gang is shocked but they don’t have time for it, with Jesse taking magnus’s armor a setting of the f bomb. Magnus dies and Ellegaard loses it and completely blames herself.

Soren is able to stop her before she reveals the lie and basically tells her that it is her fault and not to sully magnus’s name. The gang is confused and unsettled by this but brush past it now they have to worry about 3 witherstorms. Olivia, though is growing more and more concerned, while having to help Ellegaard with fixing her leg. When ivor shows Ellegaard is seething but unable to do anything. To distract the witherstorm axel, Lukas and Petra go while Jesse, ivor, Soren, Olivia and Ellegaard head to the far lands.

When the secret is revealed, Ellegaard attempts to take the blame but fails when ivor instead blames Soren. Stating that he didn’t believe in them and let Ellegaard be the fall guy when he was the one to blame.

When the witherstorm is defeated, Jesse reveals the orders lies and Ellegaard basically goes on a self imposed exile. Only to later return when Olivia tracks her down and tells her that she still wants to be her apprentice, Ellegaard agrees. Unbeknownst to Olivia this basically Ellegaard way of killing herself, passing down all her knowledge and skills so she won’t be needed anymore.

This eventually turns into Ellegaard helping the new order find the eversource, making sorta amends with ivor and eventually going with Jesse, and the others through the portals. That’s all I’ve found written so far, might continue this

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 30!!!

So, I'm in episode 30. Specifically I'm at the scene where the gang meets the...frog hag (not sure how her name is spelled. Pavlorna?). And I thought of a fun Grimmorning one-shot idea.

The hag offers to make a deal with each of them to get whatever they have lost back. Frost has lost two things; the feelings he felt when Gricko gave him the whistle, and an ounce of fear.

I dunno if he'll get either back, but an idea came to me. If in canon he makes a deal to get back his fear, what about an fic, where he instead chooses to get back the feelings. And those feelings were, like, the ones that originally triggered his affection for Gricko. And when he gets them back he essentially remembers he loves Gricko, and it's all sad and touching and happy and he eventually confesses.

Just a thought I had, the canon might end up being something all different. We'll see when I get there, I can't wait~

(Also, Gideon and Kremy matching lobster costumes is hilarious, this group and their Friends references istg-)

GI-GANG RISE UP!

Okay, so Gigan came in first place, so naturally here he is. The take here mostly takes from the Final Wars design, since it's my favourite of the two canon looks for him. It's so Edgy and...Gigan-y, also I like the idea of him having different weapon options. (I also have a toy of so there was easy reference material).

Since these monster designs aren't supposed to be workable suits, they can get a bit more out there and exaggerated with the body types and limb arrangements. In this case, Gigan would be like, super tall and gangly with long arms, to the point of uncanniness if you catch him standing still (a rare occurrence). I almost imagine he fights like a figure skater with a bunch of knives strapped to them.

There's two things I'm not sure on. The first is that buzzsaw. I thought it'd be more functional as a weapon if it actually came out (on an arm in this concept art, but maybe it could be a flying drone?).

Second is his colour palette, so I made two. First is based on Showa.

Here's the second one, based on Millenium/Final Wars.

Last thing, I dunno if I'm still gonna give my Godzilla designs canon sizes, since I was originally using Heisei scaling, but thinking of switching to Monsterverse sizes.

Also don't have much in the way of lore for most characters, but that might be something I could get into if I expanded this project (which is a big maybe considering other stuff I have going on.)

Hana scans over the room, shoulders sagging in relief when nothing seems out of order. “Get up Tenko, we’re going.”

The boy carefully sits up, pushing against the backs of his hands in a way that makes his wrists twinge. “Going where? What time is it?”

His sister looks through his room, grabbing his school bag and shoving some of his clothes in with his coloring sheets and handwriting practice books. “Dunno. Mom just said we’re leaving for a little bit. I think we’re going to a friend of mom’s house.”

Tenko didn’t know mom had any friends.

“Can Mon come?”

Hana shrugs, slinging his backpack over her shoulder. “I’ll get his leash.” The ‘don’t touch him, Tenko.’ goes unsaid.

 Alternatively: Decay acclimates to Tenko’s body only a few minutes later and everything goes differently. Everything goes... better, maybe.

Do you have an age chart for Mr.Ashly? I’d assume he’s somewhere in his 60s (2015 M.E.) the only time we got to see a younger version of him was that one photo, wonder if he met the guy who runs the No.9 Gang in Piranha Pit?

I don't but now I want to make one, cuz he is the oldest character so it'll be interesting to see

Also I don't knowww if he's ever met that guy, I dunno if he'd want anything to do with an anti-inkling gang leader (But now this makes me wonder why the hell inksports are even allowed to be played on piranha pit… hmm)

But anyways, since we're on the subject of random canon characters with barely any bits of lore— If he were to meet up with someone like that, it would have to be someone like Glen Fiddler (they really made a 3d model of him and did nothing with else with it).

From that tiny bit of info about him in the sunken scrolls, I don't think he's the ceo/president of SquidForce as some others might think he is, because the company isn't even mentioned at all. My best guess is that he's the ceo/president of whatever fuckass company was commissioned to build the Splatsville lobby tower… or a secret third thing that Splatoon 4 will elaborate on

I have enough self control not to write another meta fic, but...

Micah Bell as a self-aware video game character that actually started off as a good guy. It's why Dutch trusts him and why he insists that Micah is a good man despite the fact that he's very clearly not -- he's been programmed to think so.

Maybe it's a black mirror situation, maybe he's code gone rouge, I dunno.

What I know is that The Gang is not meant to survive, regardless of Micah's actions and the repeated suffering/death/betrayal of everyone around him drives him crazy. He begins to think his reality to be a dream, stops believing people are real. You know how easy it is to be cruel to NPCs in games, blow them to pieces for the hell of it because ultimately... there are no consequences. And without consequences he just gets meaner and meaner, more of a killer for the hell of it. Just to see what would happen.

Perhaps this is why he is the white hat and Arthur is the black one. Arthur's role in the story changes when Micah abandons his. Dutch does say the absolutely insane line of "I know you'll betray me in the end, Arthur. You seem the type" right? Again, he's programmed to lose trust in Arthur, but doesn't make sense when his and Micah's roles reverse. Micah might think this is all his fault, which is why he seems to hate Arthur with a particular passion.

I think that with time, the reality will start to crack and more people will realise that something is wrong. Arthur first, of course, but he struggles to figure it out because unlike Micah, he doesn't remember shit when the game starts over. The only thing that persists is the feeling of things being off.

In my head this is a "the protagonist is also the villain" kind of story, told from Micah's POV. Probably starting with the first loop, the true story, then summarising all the other ones including canon, before reaching The Breaking Point. I'm throwing this out there, maybe someone will get inspired by it or I'll come back to it once my wip folder's empty (like that's gonna happen lmao). I just wanted to write it down before my dumb ass forgets the idea ever existed.

This is one of those 'the readers put way more thought into this than I did' questions. ;D

It's more 'not supposed to change' more than 'can't', since if you follow my fics, Anguish was 'different' even before it was banished to Earth - being dissatisfied by Alagadda was why it was so drawn to the Doctor. Anguish is also creative - it's a storyteller and it can lie.

( What hasn't been delved into is that being a storyteller makes Anguish the Humour most like the Hanged King. )

( Other creatives who left Alagadda were SCP-5075 - in SCP-canon, such as it is, the Porcelain Gang Bang invented punk music. )

Baby Alagadda doesn't really have lore because it's just an excuse to draw monsters as cute babies, so I don't know what the Hanged King's intentions are. The King might just want them to be babies forever, which brings things back to the 'no change in Alagadda' problem. However, if the King wrote the baby lords as beings that will eventually grow up, then the intention has to be that they change over time. Like, I dunno, writing a tabletop gaming system instead of a play, where the Hanged King just gives the background and rules and the players improv the rest rather than being in set written roles.

If the baby lords were intended to grow up, then Papa King would definitely be proud that its Yellow Lord could create its own music. :)

no one knows when or how these two became friends at all. like it's kind of known that they met a couple years back at the same function but no one knows how they actually managed to get along enough to be considered pals

if he had to choose between them, Psychic would pick Dearest in a heartbeat. Void is aware of this and is only mildly bitter about it.

Void is no more close with Psychic than he is with Radi or the Space Gang. they don't really have any emotional investment in each other's lives.

however. they do understand each other in a way that no one else does.

the others have noticed how separated Void and Psi's friendship is from everyone else's. they don't really know what to make of that.

Psychic is the first one outside of BF and GF to figure out that Void is a black hole.

he doesn't bring it up by himself for a long time. Void doesn't want to either, so it takes a long time before either of them address it.

but when they finally do, it becomes very clear that Psychic is not going to tell anyone. he's not going to see Void any differently. not that he thought much of the guy before but this isn't something that's going to affect that.

Void is glad but doesn't like. appreciate it the way one would. he's just as whiny, just as self-absorbed as before.

but this is the point where he and Psychic come to understand each other a little better.

Psychic doesn't actively try to hide his interests, but he never bothers to bring them up either so Void actually has no idea what he does outside of read and also kill people probably

Void has no clue what working for the Dearests entails and he doesn't care enough to ask

meanwhile Psi knows practically everything there is to know about Void. not that Void has much going for him beneath the surface /hj

Psychic mainly sticks around because he finds Void's character interesting, not out of any genuine care for his not-cousin

Void hangs with Psi mostly because Psychic is smart and funny, and in case he ever provides anything Void could use against the Dearests. gotta weed out that competition ykyk 💅 ✨

if Void was Sans in Underverse season 1, Psychic would be Frisk.

Psychic is dangerously loyal to the people he cares about. we see this primarily with the Dearests. not with Void.

Void shows loyalty to no one. he'd drop any of his friends if he felt he had to, even the ones he enjoys the presence of slightly more.

(with the exception of Jet. nothing could force Void to abandon Jet.)

but maybe if you gave these two time and also enough character development... 👀

You got me thinking and. While I find the SR reboot pretty fun, I'm so disappointed by its story. To me, the most interesting beat it had going for it was the weird dynamic between the main characters. I was playing a slightly older avatar so I really digged the idea that the main character was this person trying to get by in "normal" society, but ultimately consistently undermined by their innate ability for large amounts of senseless violence. At first, their friends and roommates think this is a good thing, as it starts to earn them money. As the gang gets bigger and bigger, though, they get cold feet, and start to become afraid of the main character. If I was writing the game, it'd be the roommates who betray the main character, not the... mustache guy with pistols whose name I can't recall. He'd be a red herring, the only one to stick with the boss, and the rest of the game would be about taking down your former friends. Hell, you even have a good setup for multiple factions to fight against. Each of the roommates controls a part of the gang that's based off of them. You could keep the absurdity and have the right level of darkness that's kinda SR's thing. Anyways, those are my thoughts as someone who did actually play through all those LARPing missions and thought they were kinda fun but had better ideas for something that might fit better with the other games.

i agree, i think you have a really good set-up for something involving your roommates betraying you since they could all be part of a rival gang (kevin and the idols, neenah and panteros, and then have eli working with marshall defense). the nahualli really should’ve been used as a red herring; i knew before i even finished the game he was gonna betray us (i just didn’t think his canon motivations were gonna be that terribly written).

i feel similarly that i don’t necessarily outright hate the roommate angle, i just wish it was utilized better. while i dunno if i’d call my AU a full-blown rewrite of the reboot, i do implement a lot of things i would’ve done if i were rewriting the actual story. for one, i really wish there was more tension between them. i can believe that they’re in rival gangs and living together, i just wish that would cause some obvious friction. i don’t want them to completely trust and love each other. i think them questioning their respective gangs and liking or disliking each other more would make sense as time moves on, but like there’s no build-up or reason for them to be so buddy-buddy.

idk. there’s a reason no one trusts each other in my AU and why the nahualli is on anteros’ side from the start. the writing and story of this game really is the worst part imo. it’s unfortunate bc i can see hints of decent ideas or directions it could’ve gone. maybe one day i’ll sit down and actually try to do a “rewrite” of it in a similar vein to my srtt and sriv rewrites, but idk. i think the reason i keep it confined to a non-canon AU is that i just don’t think the reboot characters themselves are strong enough to hold it up. why else do you think i have so many old characters be the focus of it😭😭
