Hiccup was glad that he always checked under his forklift before using it. Yes, he worked in a pretty clean warehouse, but some animals could get in from time to time. After that time where he’d almost run over a squirrel, he always checked.

And this morning, he found quite a surprise.

There was a black cat underneath the heavy machinery. They were cowering a little, obviously scared. They looked like they hadn’t been properly groomed in a while and had been through the rain.

“Hey, buddy.” Hiccup offered his hand very slowly to let the cat sniff.

The cat didn’t do that. Instead they lashed out with a paw, scraping claws over Hiccup’s hand.

“Ow!” Hiccup pulled his hand back to examine the scratches. “Gonna need a bandaid for that,” he muttered as he watched the blood well up.

He wasn’t one to give up though, and especially not with an animal. So, he offered his hand again, but kept farther back this time.

The cat began to creep forward. They hesitantly met Hiccup’s gaze with piercing green eyes, then looked at his hand.

“It’s okay.” Hiccup kept his voice quiet and gentle. Somehow, he was already falling in love with this cat. There was just something about them that drew him in.

The cat sniffed his hand all over. He hadn’t reached out with his bleeding one, as he didn’t want to startle the cat with the smell of blood. Besides, he didn’t want to risk being scratched again on the same hand.

Hiccup felt a sense of victory, his heart swelling, as the cat nuzzled their face against his hand.

“I’m gonna take care of you, bud,” Hiccup said, smiling. “I promise.”

Oh btw since I watched it a couple days ago I want to point out how insane Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull was

First off aliens exist now but they aren’t from our space they’re from an inter dimensional space

Indiana jones broke up with his fiancé a week before the wedding since he wasn’t able to win any arguments with her

They also had a son together which Indy didn’t know about

The aforementioned son makes a monkey army at one point which is never shown nor brought up again

There are giant ants who get controlled by the skull

There’s a cult of what I can only assume were immortal people who get controlled by the skull

Idiana jones is completely chill with his companion being a dropout and wanting to fix motorcycles for a living (until he finds out he’s his son, but I think that’s more for comedic affect)

Idiana and his ex were in not quicksand but I forgot the name and mutt Williams (that’s the sons name btw) grabs a snake to pull them out and the snake is somehow fine throughout this all

Mutt asks if indiana Jones knows this guy and when he responds yes mutt says ‘I’m going to kill him’ despite that not at all what he wants to do

Indiana gets fired and then like three days later becomes the vice principal

He hides in a refrigerator to escape a nuclear bomb and gets flung probably a couple hundred metres at least and survives

He’s a suspect of the fbi

The Russians broke into Area 51

It ended with Marion and Indy getting married so I guess the next one won’t do the typical brand new cast

During a chase scene they crash into a library and Indiana helps some kid with his homework

Probably also some other things since it’s been a few days

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.
