The Proposal
pairing: seth x reader
summary: Seth proposes to the reader.
warning: FLUFF OVERLOAD!!!!
w/c: 1k
A/N: I may make this into a three part series. THE PROPOSAL, THE WEDDING, THE HONEYMOON!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Everyone was invited to the wolfpack family gathering. It was being held in the woods, lights were plastered around the trees, and the dance floor was made of complete wood from the trees. Tables with pearly white clothes surrounded that oak dance floor, it was everything you could have imagined.
“Hey (Y/N)? Can you help me hang this lantern?” Seth asked, it was only you and him here for the time being. You were both assigned decoration duty, it was pretty exciting. Seth did most of the work. It didn’t click in your mind that you would be in the woods decoring. You were too blinded by the fact that you were about to experience this grand event.
You were wearing a simple white silk dress that stopped at your knees. Cute but fancy. You sat back and watched your boyfriend do all of the work. Being the gentleman he was he didn’t allow you to do anything but sit and watch. You didn’t mind,  nothing was more admirable than seeing his arms flex in his white button-down shirt. We’re not going to talk about how his quads look in the brown slacks.
“What do you want me to do?” You hummed softly.
Seth held the lantern to the tree, “Hold this right here while I go get the hammer.”
You switched places with him, he then jumped down and ran to the table where the tools were. You continued to hum to yourself softly, occasionally looking up at the moons and the stars. It was so beautiful out here, You genuinely loved the fact that we were under the moon.
“You’ve always told me you never believed in fairy tales which is a complete lie”I looked back to see Seth propped down on one knee. My mouth dropped along with the floating lantern. Instantly I could feel tears brimming my eyes.  “This, right now, what we’re experiencing is living proof of a fairy tale. I keep telling people how I fell in love with you but in reality, I didn’t, I walked into love with you. Each step of the way you were there with me holding my hand, not once have you ever thought about leaving me. I wouldn’t be as strong as I am if I didn’t have your love to help me. I’d choose you in this lifetime, the life after this and even if I can’t find you I’ll make sure I do. I choose you and only you. You’re my world, you’re my life, you’re my fresh breath of air. You’re my everything, (Y/N) (L/N). So (Y/N) (L/N), will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
I wiped the excessive tears from my face, “Seth Clearwater, Yes! I would love to marry you.”
Before he could stand I tackled him to the ground, I could hear the pure joy of laughter escaping from his lips. You both embraced one another as you cried into his chest.
“You have to get up so I can put a ring on it.” Seth laughed, he held out his hand helping you up to my feet. Smoothly the ring went on, it glistened in the night light. It was the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. Seth shoved his hands in his pocket, clearly, he was still nervous about proposing, “It looks better on your hand other than Jacobs.” You held my hand up in the sky in complete. You watched the tiny rainbows dance in the ring. It was more beautiful knowing that it came from the man of my dreams.
“Wait, so is there a family gathering or not?”
“Oh yeah, You guys can come out!” Seth shouted, Huh, Seth wrapped his arms around me from behind. He grinned into my neck as you watched your friends and family emerge from the woods. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear, you were pretty sure only the boys and Leach heard his speech but that didn’t matter. It was still beautiful.
“Our plan worked (Y/N)!” Sue walked up to you with her arms out, “You’re finally going to be my daughter!! Ehhhhh!” You both squealed as you embraced each other. Leah soon followed as she also embraced you as well. You all had a tiny family moment, Leah was expressing how proud she was of Seth and you couldn’t fight back my tears. She was watching her younger brother become a man, and you, his soon-to-be wife, knew it was emotional as well.
Everyone continued to approach you, with nothing but pure joy on everyone's faces. Live music started to play swiftly in the background. Everyone began to chat with one another as the party started to gear up. You placed your hands on your fiance's chest, his arms wrapped around your waist. “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
He gently placed a kiss on your forehead, “I can say the same.” Seth pulled you in the direction of the lantern that you dropped. “I have one more surprise for you.” He dusted it off, “I know how much you would love for your grandmother to be here to experience this moment.” He handed you a lantern, on it was a picture of you and your grandmother, and on the other side was a picture of Seth and his dad. “It hurts knowing that they can’t be here tonight but they’ll always be here in spirit.”
Seth pulled a lighter from his pocket and lit the candle that was placed in the middle. You held the lantern dearly to your chest as memories of your grandmother flashed in the back of your head. “You’re an amazing man Seth, she’d love you.” You whispered, you never took your eyes from the lantern, the picture illuminated in the night sky.
“Come on, let’s tell them about the great news.” Seth grabbed your hand, and he lifted it towards the sky higher and higher until the lantern floated in the air by itself. The both of you watched the lantern float into the night sky. He held you in his arms as you both watched the other lanterns join yours.

ok i spent sunday drinking with oomfs and then monday mourning i’m Ready to Share what i can i remember from sunday
the energy was so electric! and not just for josh and annaleigh there was so much love in the room for everyone it was really beautiful
josh and annaleigh were, as always, on point but they were also just giving it their absolute ALL. final sequence was absolutely insane there was such a sorrow and fury to everything… i did cry
it looked like maria was crying during green finch which is a choice i’ve never seen her make so that made me emotional. ruthie also cried in character but in a place she usually doesn’t cry and that destroyed me
delaney westfall did a very funny “NOOOO” instead of her usual gasp during pirelli’s miracle elixir
nik chris was going the fuck off he brought the house down as pirelli as usual but he had such an intensity that night it was making me cry with laughter
after killing pirelli sweeney let out this like little pathetic heartbroken cry and josh usually does that but this one was the saddest noise i’d ever heard
right before pretty women when lovett is bringing toby into her back parlor annaleigh and daniel knocked the bench over and annaleigh had to fix it in character and it was hilarious and the audience ate it up
josh and annaleigh’s last a little priest… so funny so ridiculous annaleigh got on all fours and just moaned at one point and it made josh genuinely actually break which made her break. it was very sweet and the audience picked up on it and loved it
when sweeney and lovett kiss in by the sea people genuinely cheered and hooted and hollered it was so funny and Real
john rapson and annaleigh were going HAM during parlor songs. funniest they’ve ever been
josh’s final “BENJAMIN BARKER” was insane. and so hot
i just need to say it again again the final sequence from the minute anthony and johanna arrive at the shop to when sweeney dies it was just perfect. everyone broke my heart. it was so human.
jo shouts “NO” when she runs in on toby killing sweeney and i’m gonna be thinking about that choice for a very long time. maria was cooking with that.
also just wanna shout out daniel marconi! his physical intensity was insane. this was only my second time seeing him and ugh i really love his toby i’m so sad he’s leaving soon. he plays toby with a little limp and leans into the disabled young man characterization toby usually gets but does it with so much dignity.
ok parasocial corner time
when i tell you the entire ensemble was weeping during josh and annaleigh’s speeches… you can see in the video the sweeney insta posted that 3 of them are crying but it was truly the entire ensemble. i went back and watched my own video and it was just so moving to see the respect and love on display. there’s soooo much love in that company and you can really feel that in the bones of this production.
ruthie was running around taking pictures of josh and annaleigh during their final bows like a mom and it was so cute. love her
overall just so grateful i got to watch this production with this cast and make some wonderful friends through it :’)

ANOTHER LEGENDARY EPISODE FOR THE TWD HISTORY BOOKS. can we get a round of applause please? 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 yes. great. perfect.
you already know what i’m about to scream about. THE RICHONNE PROPOSAL™️ HELLODHSJDHSKBDJSHSHSSBSBSJEISNS DID I NOT PREDICT IT YES OR NO. YES I DID!!!!! THE RING 😭😭😭 HIS SPEECH 😭😭😭 HIM GETTING ON ONE KNEE AND THEN SHE GETS ON HER KNEES TOO?!?1?2!$:)!/!:/& HER RESPONSE TOO?! SEDATE ME THIS IS ALL I’VE EVER WANTED. imagine thinking we haven’t won the damn lottery with this ship it’s neverrrr over for us i love them i love them so much they’re going home next episode, and we’re going to see the ring on her finger WATCH THIS SPACE ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹🥺😁
not even five minutes into the episode and i was being ambushed with both admiration and TORTUROUS PAIN. the cute little callback to 7x12 of them just being on the road, scavenging, surviving, and loving on each other was sooooo cute. rick kissing the back of mich’s hand. DOES THIS SHOW WANT ME TO DO SOMETHING VERY CATASTROPHIC BC I WILL.
BOOM. immediate anguish right after their cutie scene because what does rick do? OH RIGHT HE PULLS OUT THE PHONE OF CARL’S DRAWING AND STARES AT IT SOLEMNLY. CATASTROPHIC THOUGHTS ARE FORMING EXPONENTIALLY LITTLE TUMBLR PEOLLE 😭😭😭❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹😔😔😔😔 i can’t do this anymore no more please. i cried so hard last episode i’m tired brother
that brief scene of rick wanting to bring a gift home for rj. that’s his baby. michonne saying that he’s the brave man, and that just him coming home to them was enough. i need like three days to process this episode it was SOOOOO SOFT
“tasteful noods?” they’re idiots but they’re my idiots. i am also an idiot because just before she said that, i paused the show and read the truck and laughed out loud at the brand. i swear we’re so tethered. michonne and trips, sisters in another universe <3
im not going to sugarcoat anything. idgaf about jadis’s death. in fact, i am celebrating!!!!! will byers is NO MÁS good damn riddance.
ALSO HELLO GABRIEL? i was quite comforted to see a member of the group. those random meetups with haircut were interesting to say the least, especially the kiss because ummm was he not still dating rosita? idk idc i can’t keep up with the timelines anymore it’s not that serious unless it’s rick and michonne
also thank you GABRIEL for the wedding ring, and thanks jadis for giving it to rick. haircut was good for something in the end i guess. doesn’t matter what her ending was, i didn’t feel any reconciliation or compassion. she’s still a piece of shit who stole a great portion of rick’s life from himself and his entire family. burn in the hottest depths of hell. xo!
WAS THAT A PAINTING OF GLENN IN JADIS’S FLASHBACK? IF SO HOW AND WHY IM GENUINELY CONFUSED SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY OR DM ME ASAP
the callback to 6x10?!?!?? spearmint and baking soda?!?! I WAS IN LOVE WITH MY SONS BEST FRIEND!!!!!!!???????? danai and andy took the little richonne file in my brain and STUDIED it to make sure that they filmed every scene that i’ve ever wanted to happen to them. no source just trust me they did it
RICK GIVING MICH A BRAND NEW “M” NECKLACE OHHHHH 😔😔🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 THEYRE SO LOVEBUG. LIKE WOAH OKAY TROY AND GABRIELLA 🥺🥺🥺🥺😭❤️‍🩹 she deserves it so much! and then their kiss inside of the cabin afterwards, and them falling back onto the bed urgsjdvajdbabbs cutie pies!!!!!!!!!!!
every jadis scene pissed me off, so I won’t go into detail too much. you guys know how much i hate her. anyway, michonne using the axe to slice jadis like a cold cut… mother. love her. ALSO her rage when speaking about haircut too, yeah that was the perfect amount of dialogue that i wanted to see from her. her stealing rick’s time of seeing rj’s birth, first steps, etc. UGH. so excellent, you could feel her burning anger in her voice.
all of these callbacks throughout the episode but the best, most important and evident one was the mere fact that they’re a team again. kicking ass, and simply leading each other because that’s what they’re the best at. before any of their romance began, they were trusted confidants who worked so well side by side, and in this episode we got to see and feel the satisfaction and elation of having that back again!!!!!
i felt like i was at a drive thru restaurant ordering the entire episode. can i get some flirting, with a side of ass kicking, and ummm let me get a side of poetic, confessional yearning from rick grimes. yeah, that’ll be all.
rick telling gabriel that he wanted to marry michonne on the bridge. 🥺……. 😡 AND THEN EVERYTHING GOES TO SHIT AFTERWARDS. IMAGINE THE WORLD IF JADIS NEVER KIDNAPPED HIM. THEY WOULD HAVE FOUND HIM EVENTUALLY LIKE HE WAS RIGHT UP THE STREET?? oof — i cannot. we waited so long to hear this admirable dialogue but at what cost. it’s so sad, but at least we’re here now as michonne would say!!!!!
okay. ❤️‍🩹 there’s still so much to unpack but that’s enough out of me for the moment. brain’s still scrambled eggs. last but not least, michonne grimes is the hottest character ever. THE BOXERS?! she looked fucking amazing in every single outfit. if i were rick, i’d be kissing every inch of her neck too HELLO
don’t forget to stream the ones who live episode FIVE 5️⃣ on amc+ and don’t forget to watch it tonight on amc’s channel at 9pm!!!! ❤️‍🔥 so stoked for episode 6. it’s going to be the best one ever. it’s so hard to rank them at this point and i don’t want to either. every episode is better than the last! REAL TELEVISION IS BACK. 🫶🏼❤️‍🔥

Henloo! ^^ I was thinking about Charybdis reader stopping the third round. It was said that Adam was told by Brunhilde to keep the reader from watching the fight between Kojiro and Poseidon. But what if she somehow manages to free herself from Adam's grasp and runs up to the arena with the sole purpose of stopping the battle because: 1) Reader doesn’t want to see Kojiro getting hurt anymore and 2) Perhaps catching a glimpse of Poseidon's genuine remorse makes her own heart soften, ever so slightly.
Charybdis, even knowing the risks of getting involved, stands between the two to prevent them from fighting any further, and forces Poseidon to abandon the fight so neither of them dies, begging him to just give up before it escalates any further.
You could always make a recap for context but I would personally like for the request to be about the aftermath of the round, with father and daughter interacting. Charybdis' relationship with Poseidon would definitely be strained and damaged beyond return, but after the reader gives him a harsh (but sincere) speech that feels like a punch in the gut for him, he's granted the chance to make things right; not as a father, but as a God (since she now has Papa Adam). And with no room for any mistakes, by the way!
-Despair and guilt were the only emotions that Poseidon could feel, as well as anger at himself.
-You, his little daughter, was lost. You had found a new family, a new papa and mama in Adam and Eve, calling them such.
-You now had a massive family, between your new parents, the human fighters, the valkyries, and Hercules.
-You no longer needed him. You no longer wanted him.
-He wallowed in his own anguish, all of which was his own causing, hiding away in a private room that he trashed within moments of entering, then sat for what felt like hours.
-Poseidon was in a fog, unable to comprehend any thoughts other than you, what he did to you, and what he didn’t.
-As a king, he kept all emotions locked deep within him, hidden away from the eyes of others, from the eyes of those who look up to him and respect him, even if it is respect out of fear.
-But seeing you, his child, terrified of him and calling another man, a human man of all things, your papa.
-Poseidon longed for a second chance, to go back in time to that point where he walked away from you and your mother, to take you with him instead of abandoning you.
-He longed to be able to go back and defend you against Zeus; Poseidon clutched his chest over his heart as he could only remember your face when you told him that you were just so hungry, and for it, you were severely punished.
-When the first tear landed on his hand, his hands lifted to his face, finding himself crying. He couldn’t remember the last time he cried.
-When it came time for him to fight, none mentioned his bloodshot eyes, the skin rubbed raw around them as he had to regain his image.
-He entered first, hearing the cheers of many gods, but many who were terrified of him, of his notorious temper and ruthlessness.
-The same ruthlessness that drove you into the arms of another papa.
-Kojiro took a while to come out, as you had wrapped your arms around his knees, making him unable to walk as you sobbed, begging him not to fight Poseidon, or as you called him, The Mean God.
-You were being held back by Brunnhilde, her heart breaking as you were reaching out to Kojiro, calling out for him, sobbing loudly.
-Brunnhilde took you back to Adam, telling him to not let you watch this fight.
-Kojiro made no mention of Poseidon’s eyes, he could tell the god had been crying, but he knew of your past, he knew what Poseidon did to you and what he didn’t do.
-Kojiro respected Poseidon enough to acknowledge that he felt regret for his actions, but he also knew that he was in a fight for his life.
-Poseidon was fearsome, his anger turning on Kojiro, all of his negative emotions coming out all at once.
-It made him powerful, but it also made him very sloppy, reckless, within minutes Poseidon had lost an arm already and had a deep gash in his side, but Kojiro was worse off.
-The samurai had a deep gash in his stomach, as well as a stab wound in his shoulder, and was bleeding heavily from a deep slash in his chest.
-You had managed to get away from Adam, and you had seen Kojiro being hurt, startling you so badly that you didn’t breathe for a few long moments before you ran, rushing down the stands while Adam and Brunnhilde were chasing after you, calling out your name.
-Both Kojiro and Poseidon heard Adam scream out your name and they both turned, seeing you leaping from the stands to land hard on the arena they were fighting on, rolling a few feet.
-You weren’t hurt, just a little disoriented, but you quickly stood as the crowd was alight with cries, seeing a child rushing out so recklessly.
-You leapt in front of Kojiro, despite Poseidon being stunned stiff and not moving, your arms spread, “Don’t hurt Kojiro anymore!”
-Kojiro was gasping softly in pain, “Charybdis!” and quickly the whole arena knew who you were. Poseidon looked conflicted, you could see the sadness in his eyes which surprised you, but you remained firm, you weren’t moving- he wasn’t going to hurt Kojiro anymore, “I’m not going to let you hurt anyone else!”
-Your declaration broke Poseidon’s heart, as it was a jab at him, for him abandoning you so long ago, and Kojiro was fully prepared to grab you and run, to protect you.
-Neither of you were prepared to see Poseidon lowering his weapon, his posture relaxing, “Charybdis- daughter, why are you protecting this human?” he couldn’t understand it.
-Your eyes were like fire, feeling so angry, despite the tears flowing from your eyes, “Kojiro and the other humans are nice to me- much nicer than you ever have been or any of you gods, like Zeus! You are all mean and treat humans like they aren’t worthy of protecting! I’m going to protect Kojiro, and if you want to hurt him you’ll have to hurt me again!”
-The cries of outrage were immediate, hearing your pain, as many knew of your past, and what had happened.
-Kojiro kneeled down, dropping his sword as you broke down into sobs and you turned, rushing into his arms and he hugged you softly, stroking your hair.
-Poseidon believed that should have been him comforting you, but you were right- he had done nothing but drive you away and there was no chance at getting you back…unless…
-“I forfeit the fight!” Poseidon’s declaration had everyone stunned stiff and silent, completely shocked and you turned, your eyes wide as Poseidon spoke down at you, “You are right daughter, we haven’t been very good gods. Perhaps it’s time we learn how.” And with that he turned, demanding a meeting of the gods.
-Nobody had ever seen Poseidon looking so serious and seeing this determination had the other gods scrambling to have an immediate meeting.
-You were taking backstage with Kojiro, crying the whole way as he had been hurt and he was patting your head, laughing lightly, “You’re gonna get puffy eyes if you keep crying!” Brunnhilde couldn’t help but smile as well, seeing your bravery, albeit foolish bravery, in stopping the fight and in turn, stopping the whole tournament.
-Poseidon was the one who came to inform you that the tournament was off and that the gods were going to do better, promising that to you. You were hesitant to believe him, and you were surprised that he didn’t try to come back into your life as a father, as he knew he lost that to another, to Adam.
-The others were just as surprised, seeing him respecting your space, reporting to you like you were his boss, showing you that he was being honest with his words and his actions.
-Poseidon’s heart ached, knowing he would never get a chance to have a father-daughter relationship with you ever again, but being with you, showing you that he was trying to be a better person, earning your smiles and praise, was enough for him.

Safe with me - S. H.
—☕️
You could tell she wasn’t herself just by the way she walked to the front door. There was an oblivious haze in her eyes and a small smile on her lips that most would find friendly- but you knew what it meant. And you knew that she would lie to you, too.
‘Mom?’ You asked wearily while taking off your shoes. You had just finished a shift at Scoops with Steve and Robin, and you regretfully peered over your shoulder to watch Steve’s car fade into the distance, kicking up the gravel and dust.
You could tell she was trying to keep a facade- to act sober. It was clear in the way she tried to keep herself upright, to seem like the paternal figure she should be- but it all felt wrong to you. You wallowed in denial, though. Maybe you were just tired or anxious.
‘Yes sweetheart?” Her voice was muddled and her speech slurred, and it made your heart drop to somewhere beneath your ankles.
‘Just to make sure,’ you began carefully, sending her a small smile as to not alarm her. ‘-you haven’t had anything to drink today, right?’ You couldn’t recognise your own voice; the lump in your throat got tighter by the minute, daring to choke you out completely.
‘No, no, no’ she said, too quickly. She didn’t meet your eyes, and when you stepped into the living room you smelled it. It made you sickly bitter inside, knowing she still tried to hide it after all this time.
‘You’re lying,’ it came out between your teeth, clenched tightly. A thick, drowning wave of disappointment washed over you, all you needed was her admittance.
‘Well- maybe a glass or two. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry sweetheart-‘ she started rambling- the standard procedure. You looked at her with a heart-breaking, desperately pleasing look. It was never a glass or two. She started stuttering out how awful of a mother she is, how hard it was to have a child, how she should have never gotten one.
But you had stopped listening a long time ago. The roar of the wave flushed your skin red, and you ran to your room, locking the door while the words, not again, kept appearing in your head like a mantra.
Your entire nervous system was set aflame, heart pounding so hard into your ribs that it hurt, hands shaking so violently you could barely hold the phone without it dropping it. The tears clouded your vision of the numbers in front of you and sobs wrecked through your body as you dialed a number by default. Steve’s.
Calling him wasn’t planned, wasn’t a usual thing in a situation like this but you felt an overwhelming urge to be protected, to feel safe and far away from whatever monster had swallowed your mother.
The phone clattered against your ear as you held it to close, hearing your mom trying to open the door. You ignored her pleas to the best of your abilities until Steve’s voice was heard on the other line.
“Hello?”
The sound, so familiar and pure and everything good made you cry harder, made your first words a mix of hey, it’s me, and fast paced- panicked breathing and cries.
“Woah woah woah, what’s going on? Are you okay?” He sounded so genuinely concerned, and you willed yourself to try stringing a coherent sentence together.
“Can you come pick me up? Only if it’s not too much trouble, I know you just left and all. If you can’t, it’s totally fine!” You hurried to say, trying to sound as assuring as possible- you would hate to be a burden to him like you were to your mother.
“Of course. Of course I can. What’s going on?” You immediately felt a little pang of relief at his words; you were saved from this hellish nightmare.
“It’s my mom. Y’know the drinking stuff- I just need to get away right now.” You hoped he would get the gist. You had mentioned your mothers alcoholism and depression to Steve but not the full extend of it.
“Shit, I’m sorry y/n. I’m so sorry. I’m gonna come pick you up right now, I’ll be there in like- 8 minutes okay? Can you wait outside for me, maybe? Would that be better?” His voice was filled with care, with concern, and he made you feel like the most important thing in his life in that moment- like his first priority.
You nodded, forgetting that he couldn’t see you. “Yeah, yeah okay I can do that. I’ll go wait. Thanks Steve, really.”
—🕊
“Im staying somewhere else” you told your mother in an h steady voice while hurriedly packing a bag with your basic necessities. You weren’t sure if Steve would let you sleep over but you could always go to Robin’s- even the Byers if needed.
Your mother insisted that you told her who’s house you were going to, and after muttering Steve’s name you were out the door. The fresh air, away from the stench of alcohol and misery was achingly freeing. You walked a little up the road, and sat on the curb until the familiar car came into view. He was driving faster than you’d ever seen and he must’ve only caught you last minute cause the tires screeched to a halt a couple feet ahead of you.
‘Hey,’ he jumped out the drivers seat and rushed to where you now stood. You looked terribly small and fragile, knuckles white from the grasp you had on your bag, eyes red with tears still freely running and your legs shaking like you were freezing.
‘Oh baby,’ he whispered, immediately embracing you tightly. His warm arms enveloped you and his mouth planted on the crown of you head. He felt shudders and sobs wrecking through your body at his embrace. You completely surrendered to it. To him.
You let him hold you, let him take your bag, let him open the door for you. You let him take you away from all the pain and neglect and sorrow.
His hand splayed gently on your thigh on the drive to his house- carefully like you’d maybe break.
“It was really bad Steve,” you whispered. He looked over to you- to your glassy eyes that conveyed everything you couldn’t say. He felt his heart absolutely shatter.
“I had no idea it was this bad, y/n. You don’t deserve this.” His hand gestures in the air, “at all.”
You felt a little embarrassed at him seeing you in this state, knowing what really went on. But he wasn’t condescending or pitying. He cared- hell he loved you. And he wanted to take away all the pain from your precious heart.
“You’re staying over, right?” He asked as if obvious. Relief once again cursed through you, and you put your hand atop of his as he pulled into the driveway. “If that’s okay?” You questioned.
“Always, y/n. Stay as long as you want, whenever you want I swear. Its better when you’re here, anyways,” he said- the last words uttered casually as if it didn’t mean the world to you.
He brought you inside, and his home smelled clean and looked bright- his mom was nice to you and the dinner was great. It was everything you wished you could have, including Steve.
—🕊
Steve had spent the remainder of the day with you, just sitting and talking- watching a few movies and buying a few snacks. You elaborated more on you and your mothers relationship and Steve told you about him and his dad. You felt completely comfortable and never judged in Steve’s presence.
“You can always call me, no matter what time, okay?”
“Okay.” You smiled softly, gratitude radiating from you to him as your arms wrapped around his waist. He immediately reciprocated, letting you rest against his chest as you turned back to the movie playing.
You had never felt more safe in someone’s arms as you did that night, falling asleep on the couch with a blanket tossed over the two of you <3

Last night I finally watched the finale of His Dark Materials, and of course it made me cry. I've read the final chapters of the Amber Spyglass so many times, and cried at each one. Was it perfect for me? No. But it never could be, because perfect for each individual reader is impossible, and an unfair thing to hope something would achieve. But it was excellent. And Dafne and Amir acted their hearts out with those lines between Lyra and Will when they're raging against the fate they're faced with, and with their promises to each other, and they broke my little heart with it. And finally hearing the "every atom of you and every atom of me..." speech... ooft that kicked me in the gut in all the right ways.
But this morning I happened to read the poem by Clare Harner that goes
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
And I was hit suddenly by image after image invoked by each line, of each of them, old now and lying in bed (yes I want peace for them in the end. Some would want them to have a victorious or adventurous end but I think they deserve peace.) Pan pressing his face to Lyra's in a final embrace, and Kirjava pressing hers to Will's, and both humans whispering to their daemons that their atoms will find each other, just as they found each other when they were separated before, and Will telling Kirjava to keep Pan's atoms company while Will and Lyra find each other and look for them, and Lyra saying the same to Pan. They tell them that they know where the opening is, if they want to meet them there, but that they would find them either way. And Pan and Kirjava whisper an unneeded reminder to their humans: tell them stories.
And then a wisp of golden fire and Dust curls around a face in each world. Lyra sees her Death again, and they lead her as true as they did the first time. And Will meets his Death, and recognises them though its the first time they've met, but they lead him true, too.
And maybe Will and Lyra find each other in the land of the dead. I'm a romantic, and think even though they are so far apart and couldn't possibly know that the other was dying, they die in the same moment in their own worlds, whatever their lives have gone on to be. Because the universes kept them from being reunited in life, the least they could do is let them see each other again in death, and even with all the changes of their lives and the years they've lived, they know each other instantly. How could they not? And it's a feeling like finding something precious you have looked for every day of your life (because they have) and finally feeling the relief of finding it, and their ghosts are thin and cold and made of almost nothing. They should pass through each other, except they're made of the same kind of nothing. It doesn't feel like it did when they were in their bodies, but it's enough. Soon they'd be closer than they ever could be naturally in life. And they’re the closest they’ve been in so long. So for now, it's enough to hold each other, hand in thin, cold, ghostly hand.
They are at the jetty and the ferry man greets them, and at first he doesn't know them. He hasn't ferried anyone twice before, and he hasn't been hugged and greeted as an old friend, and Lyra wishes she could jokingly scold him for making her leave Pan last time but even now, decades later that wound is too fresh to come out as a joke, and she misses Pan even though she knows she'll be with him again soon, so she let's the chance for the joke go, and they talk to him the whole journey. They don't know if he's alive, or dead, or some other form that is just his, but he looks so genuinely cheery as they speak to him, in a way that his face looks unfamiliar with being, with so many years of his heavy duty weighing on him until now.
They tell him what happened last time they were here, of how they found their daemons like they said they would, and how the opening would let everyone he ferries back out into the world. He looks genuinely shocked at the news.
"Did no one tell you?" They ask.
"Who would tell me?" He replies.
So they tell him, that his job is not to escort people to a prison, but to deliver them back into the world to rejoin every living thing. That the people he ferries need only tell the harpies their stories: and stories, as long as they’re true, of what they saw in life, no matter how small or boring or painful, and to tell them the good news. And the weight lifted from him further, his back straightened and his face brightened, and as they stepped to the shore, he waved to them rather than regretfully returning to his collections as he had every other time, and they heard the echoes of him whispering the phrase they passed down the line last time they'd been there: "Tell them stories."
And no sooner has the sounds of the lap of his boat been eaten by the mist, but they are replaced by flutter of heavy wings.
Of Gracious Wings.
The voice that greeted them was familiar but different: still loud and bold, but it has lost its strained, cracked and painful sound. Her lips were pink instead of the red of caked, vomited blood, and her hair hung soft around her face. A diet of varied stories, even for just the years of Will and Lyra's life, exchanged for millennia of screeching cruelties in the ears of the dead, has clearly suited her, and the smell of putrefaction had faded entirely. She welcomed them, and other harpies gathered themselves around the little ghosts, as they had all been waiting to hear these tales most of all, and they will pass them on to the others, the ones that are away guiding the ghosts to their freedom, so that they can enjoy the tales too.
So Lyra and Will began at the beginning, though they knew that some of it had already been heard by their audience. They added to each other's stories, filling in details and perspectives. It wasn't a short story, and though they were eager to rejoin the world, they enjoyed the reminiscence of the triumphs, and even the pain of the losses and separations could not be skipped over, as they were all a part of their story and to avoid any part of it would be a disrespect to each other.
But then their story as each other know it finishes: their final clumsy kiss before closing the window between their worlds. Every word from then on is new, and they watch each others lips make the shapes of their tales, food for each other as much as for the harpies. The only shared touch point was every year, their shared moment of peace and closeness each Midsummer. They learned of each other's friends and families, loves and losses. Of Will's life with his mother and Mary, and Lyra's learning in St Sophia's and reconnecting with the alethiometer at long last. Of who they were leaving behind in their own worlds, who would mourn them, despite their promises that they were going to go on to be a part of in every world. And as they reached the end of their stories as they could be told; as they reach that very moment, sitting on the floor of the world of the dead, surrounded by harpies and holding each others hands, their words ran out as they just. Look at each other. And smile. Hand held in cold, thin, ghostly hand.
So they rose, and Gracious Wings escorted them personally to the window they had made so long ago now. They waited their turn, though the queue was constantly moving on eager ghostly feet, desperate to return to the world as were, to feel the sun’s rays on their face once more, before they become part of those rays.
They take a moment, hanging back as other ghosts pass through, to look back out across that other world’s horizon. With delight they find it’s changed for the better: the huge seed pod trees seem to be growing stronger and healthier, and though they only had a small view through the window, there are no signs of them dying off like they were before.
They whispered amongst themselves briefly about doing as Will’s father and Lee Scoresby and all those brave people that held their ghosts together to step out into the world to fight in Asriel’s last stand against Metatron. To hold their particles together long enough to return to the mulefa’s world, revisit the trees they knew, see that spot by the river where they held those little red fruits to each other’s lips.
“No,” says Will at length. “We’ve made Kirjava and Pan wait long enough. We’ve waited long enough, too.”
“Plus,” Lyra says, almost giddy, “Soon enough we’ll be part of that river and those berries and everything else too.”
So they step up to the edge of the window, and smell the air and feel the warmth of the sun with the last time on these faces.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry –
I am not there. I did not die.

Matilda
Tw: emotional abuse
Harry has known y/n since he was 12. He has been there for her worst and her best, never losing contact with her and always answering her calls.
~2013~
He wakes up to his phone ringing, when he goes to decline the call he sees that it's y/n calling.
"Lovie, are you okay?" He knows something isn't right due to the time she was calling. She would always message Harry before calling and this was just out of the blue.
She chokes out a sob. "Harry, I need five hundred dollars. I wouldn't be going to you for this if I didn't but I need to leave this house." He can barely make out what she is saying.
"Yeah, of course. Just grab as much as you need and I'll get movers there and fly out out to our next stop, okay? Does that sound good?" She gives him a small yes.
"Harry?"
"Yes?"
"I love you so much, thank you for caring."
This was the last thing that made his heart break.
"I love you more, now go stay with Grace and I'll send you your plane ticket information. Get some sleep I know you need it."
The phone call ended there.
Few days later, Harry finds out what drove y/n to moving out on such short notice. Her mom blamed her for her father's death.
He always knew she had a bad home life. It was no secret in their relationship, but she always hid it behind jokes and smiles. He home life never seemed so alarming until then.
~present~
Harry had y/n move into his London house until she could comfortably move in somewhere else. She ended up applying to university and getting a job and she brought herself out of the hole she was born in. She moved out in 2015 and has been living on her own ever since.
During quarantine, Harry watch a lot of his childhood favorite movies, one of the being Matilda. While watching, he noticed a lot of similarities between the y/n and the character Matilda. The only difference is that y/n didn't get the perfect ending. She didn't have someone to save her when she was a kid, she had to grow up alone. This made Harry furious for y/n.
How could someone be so neglectful to someone who can't take care of themselves?
How could someone deny love to someone as amazing as y/n?
Harry is reminded of the last time he saw her parents, at her twenty-fifth birthday. He is reminded of how hard she cried after the encounter with them. He left feeling gross and disgusted by the way her parents treated her.
This is when Harry started to write Matilda.
Harry banned y/n from listening to the album until New York One Night Only.
She had been having the best time listening to the album through Harry's performance and having fun with some fans and friends.
"This next song is called Matilda. I wrote this song about someone very close to me who went through a lot in there life. I want them to know that they are personified version of sunshine, you have been through so much but you inspire me daily. You are loved my many and you will never get rid of me, your trapped." He wipes away some of the tears and laughs at the end of his speech.
The song starts to play and the first verse goes somewhat smoothly only a few tear sheed by y/n, but them the verse starts.
"You can let it go
You can throw a party full of everyone you know
And not invite your family
Cause they never showed you love
You don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up"
She is now sobbing holding onto her closest friend. Genuinely feeling overweight with her emotions and a lot of her own insecurities being shown in the song but she's not mad about it. In her opinion this is one of Harry's best songs lyrically.
Rationally she knows how she wasn't at fault for the abuse she suffered but it's not easy to change the way you've been raised. When the abuse is all you know, how are you supposed to recognize real love? When this has been your whole life how are you supposed to reject that? But Harry is right they can't hurt her if she let's them go.
The abuse isn't her.

ok so bap girly here again and can I say I got sucked in back to a 2nd gen kpop binge and omfg imagine a "please don't" k.will au with lando having to see the man he loves marry someone else and he has to be best man and 😭😭 im crying here
I don't blame you. If I wasn't on a Fletcher kick, I would be binging rn and omg K.Will!! I haven't heard anyone mention him in so long, and I can only think of two songs with mv's that are as sadder or sadder (Severly - ftisland and Baby I'm Sorry -MYNAME, wasn't even a myname fan and that HURT)
BUT YES
I was thinking Max F but I'm still on my George/Lando kick (and now a max/charles/lando kick)
Lando and George being George's best man because George lost a bet to Alex years ago so Alex is officiating. Lando is George's next choice, they've been friends for years. Lando has always been there for him even when they've had their spats, and George wants his best friend by his side for his wedding
And Lando....Lando grins and bears it because he loves George. It's always been George for Lando, but he knows that George will never love him in that way. They had a drunken kiss once, and George had a whole panic attack about how he's not gay, he can't be gay, and begs Lando not to tell anyone. Lando just laughs off the kiss, reassures George that one kiss doesn't change anything even though inside he has been breaking because he has loved George for so long and this just proves he can't ever be the one George falls in love with
To make everything worse, Lando genuinely likes George's fiancée. They get a long as if they've always been friends. Alex even jokes that George got himself a female Lando because her and Lando have so many similarities and that just makes it worse. Lando can't help but think that if he was a girl then George would have loved him, but he keeps it all inside. He hides his pain with smiles, he celebrates with them for every major achievement and he stands with them on their wedding day. He tells them they're the perfect couple, makes a speech about them being the definition of love, and later sneaks out to get air.
When George finds him, George is worried about him. He's asking if it's too much for Lando because he knows Lando isn't the fondest of crowds but Lando just fakes a smile and lets George pull him back inside to dance until he can slip away again and this time he has to leave because he can't do this. He can't watch George be so happy, and the guilt over hating his happiness is killing Lando, He ignores calls and texts, and eventually has to pull over because he's just sobbing because he wanted it to be him. He wanted to the one George loved, and it hurts. It hurts to feel selfish and jealous and resentment over something that he should let go off so he just cries
And maybe, just maybe, makes up his mind that he needs a fresh start without George in his life because he can't be the friend George wants, and George can't be the love that Lando wants

So I finished binging The Magnus Archives
and I genuinely have so many thoughts that I can't even put into words
Spoilers for TMA as a whole, I guess
I'll start with Sasha because I want to do every point that hit heavy for me and if I don't do it in order I'll forget something
The idea of being replaced and forgotten, just, my God. And really, how little of the real Sasha we even got from the whole podcast is tragic. We got so little of her, liked her when we first heard her encounter with Michael, and then, boom, she's gone. Replaced. And as listeners, we Know Something will happen, but you just get that building dread every episode, what will Not!Sasha do? Is there a chance real Sasha could come back?
And by the end, we forget about Sasha because of everything else happening.
Tim was worse for me because as soon as his new arc was building up, I knew immediately there was ever going to be one ending for him. His building anger, his loss of his previous self, the information on his past and how it related to the next big fight they were going to. It was obvious he was going to get blown up as soon as the explosives were introduced.
And we don't get much mourning for Tim, because Jon is in a coma, Daisy is trapped, and Martin is losing himself.
I could go on a whole side tangent about the Lonely, make a list of all those hard hitting lines Martin said.
I'm not enough on my own. Can't get it out of my head.
The finale hurts. I can't stop myself from crying. I keep going back and forth about Jon's character
We watch him make questionable decisions for the entire podcast. His whole conspiracy fueled paranoia and just driving everyone away as if it's going to keep them safe. His final choice to take over instead of Elias
It's selfish, because ok, fuck lemme try to get this in words
Jon and Martin are opposites the whole time, I think
Martin's big speech to Peter and Elias where he says, "I'm not a chosen one" always stood out to me. Because there's times where Jon seems to believe HE needs to fix everything, that HE needs to keep his friends safe, that HE needs to save the world because he is SO SO guilty.
And Martin thinks so little of himself, but he puts so much love in others. It's so sad to see his change in S4 with the Lonely, because it's so distinctly not Martin.
He never stops hating himself, never stops loving Jon. Everything he does is for Jon. He had nothing to live for when Jon was gone.
They are each other's reasons. But Martin could be anywhere with Jon and be happy.
Jon needs to fix his wrongs to make them both happy. Whether that is true or not doesn't matter, because it is wholeheartedly what Jon believes.
And so he believes sacrificing himself to try to fix things will be better for Martin, but he never asked Martin what would actually make him happy.
Martin just wants to be by Jon's side.
And back to the selfish thing, I don't mean it in a negative way. I mean that Jon felt he literally needed to give himself up to atone. Like he had lost all self worth. Like he didn't care about himself.
He puts Martin in the worst possible position.
And I cried so hard at the ending, because I knew that they weren't Somewhere Else. They were dead. It mirrored Gertrude and her assistants, the foreshadowing of their deaths as Sasha and Tim dropped one by one.
There was no happy ending for us. There was no fixed world after what traumatic experience had been unleashed. Jon had to pay for his mistakes, but love caused Martin to go with him. (I think about those last few moments of Martin. Alive. Looking down at Jon's bleeding corpse. The panopticon crumbling around him. Martin knows he will die, but he's just had to kill his only Reason to live anyways)
I can't even say they're happy together in the fucking afterlife because the End or whatever exists and claims everyone. I always interpreted that as Hell existing for everyone after death.
And don't even get me started on the themes of finding happiness and love in the middle of the apocalypse
They just wanted to fix things man. It wasn't even Jon's fucking fault, AND OKAY THIS IS ANOTHER THING
I SWEAR Elias has to be Web aligned I fucking swear the strings he pulled throughout the whole fucking series dude. I think the Eye and Web are pretty close anyways but that Manipulating Bastard FUCK HIM
Jon believes he's done everything wrong, because he refuses to blame Dickhead McGee. Doesn't help that everyone is on his ass the whole podcast, and like, yeah, Jon does some stupid shit but come the fuck on why did the foreshadowing of his slowly worse decisions have to end like this man I can't stop thinking about it

March 20th
The Steward and the King
'A great lord is that, and a healer; and it is a thing passing strange to me that the healing hand should also wield the sword.'
...
'It may be that only a few days are left ere darkness falls upon our world, and when it comes I hope to face it steadily; but it would ease my heart, if while the Sun yet shines, I could see you still. For you and I have both passed under the wings of the Shadow, and the same hand drew us back.'
'Alas, not me, lord!' she said. 'Shadow lies on me still. Look not to me for healing! I am a shieldmaiden and my hand is ungentle.'
Shrimp emotions about Faramir and Éowyn
and also the Soldier, Poet, King of it all. There will come a Strider who carries a mighty sword... 😂 but genuinely, not a hard connection to make, and the CS Lewis of it is hilarious to me.
But nevermind the religious squabbles of those old guys, the whole thing about being a warrior and healer is really interesting. A hundred times moreso because of Éowyn, and the painful reality of her life that Aragorn cannot fully understand.
Not much coherency out of me rn but in the context of that post about Faramir and Éowyn and the genderfuckery of their roles in the story...hoooooo boy
March 21st
And he called to her, and she came down, and they walked on the grass or sat under a green tree together, now in silence, now in speech. And each day after they did likewise.
🌰 aaaaaaaah 🌰
🌳 some peace and talk for these tired bbs 🌳
from that evening onward the Nazgûl came and followed every move of the army. They still flew high and out of sight of all save Legolas,
I'm so smug that the way this is written makes it sound like they haven't quite forgotten that he shot one of them down with one arrow. Ha ha
March 22nd
There came at last a dreadful nightfall (...) Four days had passed since they had escaped from the orcs, but the time lay behind them like an ever-darkening dream. All this last day Frodo had not spoken, but had walked half-bowed, often stumbling, as if his eyes no longer saw the way before his feet. Sam guessed that among all their pains he bore the worst, the growing weight of the Ring, a burden on the body and a torment to his mind. Anxiously Sam had noted how his master's left hand would often be raised as if to ward off a blow, or to screen his shrinking eyes from a dreadful Eye that sought to look in them. And sometimes his right hand would creep to his breast, clutching, and then slowly, as the will recovered mastery, it would be withdrawn.
Generally I'm here to comment on the book, not the movies (at least for now) but Elijah you were so real for that oh my god. King understood the assignment better than the actual screenplay did and that's my weird hill that I will probably talk about sometime
Now as the blackness of night returned Frodo sat, his head between his knees, his arms hanging wearily to the ground where his hands lay feebly twitching. Sam watched him, till night covered them both and hid them from one another. He could no longer find any words to say; and he turned to his own dark thoughts.
This makes me want to curl up and die thanks
at times Sam's mind was filled with the memories of food, and the longing for simple bread and meats.
:,,,,,,,]
Dream and waking mingled uneasily. He saw lights like gloating eyes, and dark creeping shapes, and he heard noises as of wild beasts or the dreadful cries of tortured things; and he would start up to find the world all dark and only empty blackness all about him.
AAAAAHAAA i want to go home

Ch.107 - Mr. and Mrs. Simon Riley - Part 3
Previous Chapter - Masterlist - Next Chapter
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Song inspiring this chapter later during Eva's speech: "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw. This song is very personal to me as I made a tribute video for my father when he passed away, so of course I cried immensely when I wrote this. Bear with me if it looks rushed or sloppy! It was a mess in my head with emotions!
*
"Oh, my God!" Soap and Gaz shouted in unison while Price smiled widely at Kiera, each carrying a genuine smile as they were called for the groomsmen's "first look."
"I don't know what I can say that won't get me in trouble," Soap snickered. "So I'll just keep it simple and say you look beautiful, K."
"Thank you, Johnny." Kiera blushed, accepting his embrace before Gaz followed suit, whispering a 'congratulations' into her ear before admitting that Simon was a lucky and deserving man.
Price waited for his turn, his cheeks rising into a warm and genuine smile before he pulled her softly into his arms. "I'm so proud of you two, love," He whispered.
"Thank you, John," She sniffled into his shoulder, feeling him pull back to look at her before his thumb swiped away a tear that settled on her chin. "I'm so nervous."
He chuckled at her, "I can assure you: Simon is more nervous than you. The poor bloke has been tapping his foot impatiently on the floor so hard that I'm sure there's a hole there when he leaves."
"I don't doubt it," She giggled. "I'm so nervous but so ready to get this over with. Simon still won't tell me what he has planned for our honeymoon."
Soap snickered, "We all know what he's got planned."
"Sergeant, shut it." Price warned with a glare as Kiera and Gaz giggled.
Autumn had finished taking the photos for the session, keeping to herself to give Kiera and Simon's groomsmen their time with her, Autumn smiling at how they all seemed to adore Kiera, oblivious to their history together and just how close they truly were.
"Hey!" Teeter chimed suddenly, poking her head around the corner. "Baby, we got twenty minutes before this all starts! Y'all need to get your asses to the end of the aisle because I ain't walkin' by myself!"
"Here we go..." She breathed a sigh.
"Take a breath, love," Price assured her. "There may be a lot of people, but once you two see each other, I'm sure you'll feel like it's just the pair of you up there."
Kristen, Kiera's maid of honor and best friend, helped Eva adjust Kiera's veil and make last-minute adjustments before it was time for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to walk down the aisle.
Kiera took a shaky breath, gripping her bouquet tightly when the music started to play, holding her position as she watched Kristen and Gaz be the first ones to walk down the aisle, followed by Teeter and Soap, and finally Alice and Price being last, each member hosting a huge smile as they got placed at the alter.
"Best breathe before ye pass out, Simon." Teeter poked in a whisper as she noticed Simon's nervous stance. He gonna cry... He gonna cry, she mused, especially when he shot her a glare at her words.
"You're not helping!" Soap mouthed to her, grasping his wrist with his opposite hand as he, Simon, Price, and Gaz stood in the same position, except Simon had nervously pressed his ring finger and thumb harshly together out of anxiousness - a nervous tick he had always done.
Hold it together, Simon. It's not like you've never seen her before! He scolded himself. Well, have never seen her in a white dress vowing her love and devotion to me in front of God and the world. Bloody hell, don't fucking cry, you bloke!
After the music that had guided the groomsmen and bridesmaids down the aisle, a brief moment of silence fell before the song played - the song that was sentimental between Simon and Kiera.
Except it was the instrumental version of "Always Remember Us This Way."
Simon looked down to his feet for a few seconds, taking advantage of the very few seconds to gain his composure before he dared himself to fight the verge of tears before he looked towards her. Bloody fucking hell, he sighed, a large grin smearing across his face before his hands came to cover his mouth. She's all mine. So bloody beautiful.
Both Kiera and Eva's faces matched - both shedding a steady amount of tears as Eva walked her daughter down the aisle, rubbing her thumb softly against Kiera's forearm in a last-minute attempt to soothe her daughter of her nerves as they got closer and closer. "He looks at you with so much love, sweetheart," Eva whispered. "He looks so handsome."
"That he does," She smiled. "It's so hard for me to believe that he's mine."
"For the long run, sweetheart." Eva assured her before they reached the end of the aisle, Kiera's tear-filled eyes stayed glued to Simon while his eyes did the same, except his tears failed to leave the rim of his eyes.
"Ladies and gentlemen," The priest began to say to the crowd. "We are gathered here today to witness the union of the bride and the groom. Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"
"Her mother." Eva replied in a soft voice, tears falling at her answer as the time had finally come, her grip tightening on Kiera's arm before she turned to give her one last hug. "I love you so much, sweetheart."
"I love you too, momma."
Simon smiled as he held out his hand, watching Kiera grasp his as he helped her stand in front of him.
"Good evening everyone, as the priest who has the honor to conduct this sacred ceremony, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to witness the union of Kiera Dutton and Simon Riley. Marriage is a sacred bond, a commitment between two people to love and cherish one another, through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, as long as they both shall live. Kiera and Simon, you have made a commitment to love and honor each other, and to support each other in your journey through life," The priest began. "May the love you share today continue to grow and flourish, and may the Lord bless your union with joy, peace and happiness. May you always find comfort in each other’s arms, and may your home be filled with love, laughter and peace. I ask that you always remember that the love you share is a reflection of the love God has for each and every one of us. And I pray that you will always be blessed with the love and guidance of our Lord. It is understood that the bride and groom have already exchanged vows within the privacy of one another and before I ask the couple to place their rings, I would like to bless this couple with a prayer. Please, bow your heads,"
Kiera and Simon were the first to bow their heads before the rest of the guests followed suit.
"A reading from the New Testament, 1 John 4:7-12: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. The word of the Lord. Amen."
"Amen." The crowd said in unison.
"At this time, I ask the best man and maid of honor to present the rings for the bride and groom."
Kristen and Price both stepped forward. Although Simon technically chose to not have a best man as they were all quote "all his best men," they all concluded that Price was best trusted with keeping track of Kiera's wedding band as Soap was not the best at being responsible for small items. "Simon, repeat after me," The priest directed as Simon grasped Kiera's left hand, holding the ring at the tip of her finger as he hesitated before following the priest's directions. "With this ring, I promise to support you, care for you, laugh with you, share in your burdens, be honest with you, and be faithful to you in all that we may face in the years ahead. I promise to love you with everything I have, from this day forward and beyond."
"With this ring, I promise to support you, care for you, laugh with you, share in your burdens, be honest with you, and be faithful to you in all that we may face in the years ahead. I promise to love you with everything I have, from this day forward and beyond." Simon repeated as he slowly slid the band on her finger, his thumb rubbing over the bulge of the ring just like he had always done, subconsciously easing the nervousness between the pair of them.
"Kiera, please take Simon's ring and repeat after me: With this ring, I promise to support you, care for you, laugh with you, share in your burdens, be honest with you, and be faithful to you in all that we may face in the years ahead. I promise to love you with everything I have, from this day forward and beyond."
"With this ring, I promise to support you, care for you, laugh with you, share in your burdens, be honest with you, and be faithful to you in all that we may face in the years ahead. I promise to love you with everything I have, from this day forward and beyond." She repeated, smiling up at Simon as she had slid the black titanium band over his finger. Fitting, she mused. It looks so good on him.
"Simon, do you take Kiera to be your lawfully wedded wife? Will you honor and cherish her, continue to deepen your understanding of her, and treat her with love and compassion in joy and pain, sickness and health, and whatever life might throw your way?"
"Until there's no more air in my lungs." He answered truthfully, knowing he could've kept it simple by saying I do, but he chose not to - simply because if he could easily lighten the mood by a split second to help ease Kiera's nerves, he'd do his best to slip in jokes throughout the rest of the evening.
"Kiera, do you take Simon to be your lawfully wedded husband? Will you honor and cherish him, continue to deepen your understanding of him, and treat him with love and compassion in joy and pain, sickness and health, and whatever life might throw your way?"
"I do." She smiled behind her veil.
The priest smiled, "By the power vested in me, and with the trust and beauty of you all today, I now pronounce you husband and wife,"
Finally, he breathed, his heart racing in his chest.
"Simon, you may now lift the veil and kiss your bride."
He smiled as he cautiously lifted Kiera's veil and carefully let it settle behind her head. She's so fucking beautiful, he thought. He cupped her face as she leaned into him, their lips locking in matrimony, the sound of the guest clapping slowly fading in the distance as the moment was nothing but theirs. Her hands splayed against his back as her arms wrapped around his shoulders, the couple unable to make their kiss brief as they had been waiting to tie their knot for nearly two years. "I love you, sweetheart." He murmured against her lips.
"I love you too." She smiled, breaking the kiss to look up into his eyes before they joined hands, Simon taking the first step to lead his new bride down the aisle towards the reception hall.
Eva was the first one to greet them, embracing her daughter with a loving hug and kiss before she stood on her toes to do the same to Simon. "Congratulations, honey. I love you two so much."
"Thank you, love," Simon smiled, patting her shoulder. "I love you too."
"Where's Jacob and Evie?" Kiera asked, beginning to look around.
"Mr. Price has Jacob and Kristen has Evie. She's obsessed with her little dress," Eva smiled. "They're right over there."
"Okay. When should I change into my reception dress?" She asked, confused.
"Whenever you want to, sweetheart. Although I think you two should cut your cake first before you change." She giggled.
"Oh, no!" Kiera answered playfully. "I don't trust him feeding me cake in this dress!"
"You're talking like I'm going to ruin that dress, love." He smirked with a mischievous hint.
"You're forgetting I remember what you told me in London before the ball!"
He shrugged, "A lot of things happened before the ball..."
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that," Eva giggled. "I'm going to go smother one of my grandchildren in kisses and spoil them later."
Kiera blushed, "He can't control what comes out of his mouth." She explained as her mother began to walk away, leaving just the two of them to sit in their mischievous silence.
"Just like you can't control what goes into your mouth, love," He smirked, pressing a kiss to the back of her head before continuing his mischievous charade. "Do you need any help getting out of that dress?"
"Later, babe," She giggled. "I know if me and you snuck away now, we won't be back in time to cut the cake."
"I can make it quick. We do need to make this wedding official, you know..." He poked.
"Oh, you always make it quick," She giggled in a teasing tone, knowing it riled him up. "And our wedding was official when we said our I do's, you do know that right?"
"I sure do, love," He smirked against her hair. "You keep teasing me and I'll give you a reason to get out of that dress."
She couldn't help but bite her lip, "And if you keep on I'll put it on lockdown until after the honeymoon."
"You wouldn't dare." He chuckled in a playful tone.
"You know me to keep my word, don't you?"
"That you do, Mrs. Riley."
With much to anticipate, Kiera wasn't surprised when Simon playfully smeared the cake across her chin when it was time for them to make the first slice, although she got her revenge when she pushed a piece of cake into his chin and nose, watching his face flush in embarrassment while everyone laughed at their playfulness. "You're going to take the biscuit, love." He warned playfully.
She smiled before she kissed him, the frosting still on his chin and nose before mumbling against his lips, "Like I said when you finally came home with me the first time: there's no biscuits here, babe. You're a long way from England."
"I'm glad I am." He smirked.
After a half hour, it was time for the speeches of the night before Simon and Kiera's first dance as man and wife - their first private dance. He stretched his arm over the back of Kiera's chair, sighing heavily as he watched Soap stand at the microphone, knowing that whatever was about to come out of his mouth would be nothing close to sentimental. "Bloody hell." He grumbled, taking a deep breath and shaking his head.
Soap humorously removed a pair of pages from his pocket, blowing onto it as if it had collected dust. "I've been holding onto this for a long time," He breathed into the microphone, raising his brows as the crowd smiled. "Although Simon is nowhere close to being sentimental, I can't say I'm surprised he turned out to be a big teddy bear when it comes to the lass next to him there," He snickered at Simon's glare.
"Love, can I have the rest of your champagne?" He grumbled, watching her playfully roll her eyes before reaching her glass of champagne towards him, giggling when she felt his thumb graze against her arm, seeking the warmth of her skin to soothe him from the embarrassment that he was sure to come.
"Even though he didn't choose a best man, I know it was a hard decision for him between the three of us, but we all know he would've chosen me if he had to," He snickered. "With that said, I am honored to stand here today as the best man for my best friend. And even though he'll deny it, we have been best friends for nearly ten years, although our friendship consists of many hate comments, I know he loves me. But, before this speech, I got a very clear warning from him about his expectations before I started blurting out stuff about him. For example, he plainly told me: 'Mate, I am forty years old and you don't need to say anything embarrassing, so just leave it short and safe and nothing emotional.' End quote. So I had a choice to listen to my lifelong friend or continue to live on the edge. So, L.T., I'm sorry. You should know me better than that," He smirked, chuckling at Simon's dangerous glare that was peering back at him while Kiera's face held a playful and amused smile. "I almost can't say this next line... As I stand here-" Soap began to laugh, taking a step back from the microphone.
"Do it!" Gaz and Alejandro shouted from the table, daring him.
Soap breathed another laugh, "As I stand here, I can't help but reminisce about the good old days when we were young and carefree. People were always so scared of Simon here for some reason, but I wasn't. I found it quite amusing to get on his nerves. He won't admit it, but I was like the little brother he wished he had. I looked up to him - he had the brains, the dry humor, charisma, athleticism, and looks if he would've just taken off his mask during our time in the field and now, let's not forget, a smoking hot wife," He raised his brows. "L.T., I'm sorry. Teeter put me up to it-"
"I sure did baby!" Teeter chimed, raising her glass of champagne and crossing her knee over her opposite leg. "She got hotter with age!"
"So, Kiera, I'd like to thank you for your beauty, because if it wasn't, I wouldn't have been here today," He continued with a laugh. "And trust me, Teeter approved for me to say this as she knew it would tick you off and Kyle and Alejandro dared me to do it. So guys, thanks for the fifty dollars," He snickered, glancing over at Simon to see his dangerous glare darken while Kiera's face flushed with embarrassment. "Simon and I have been through a lot. We blew up cities together and got lost in a small town in Mexico... I bet you all were expecting me to say we used to play basketball and football together, aye?"
The crowd laughed.
"We were unfortunately roommates, almost-business partners, and on many occasions have gotten into a lot of trouble together... most of it being my fault and mainly being at a pub, but that's a story for a different day. But, since Simon isn't the most sentimental of the bunch, I've had no choice but to bring out my inner baby and be the sentimental one. Simon has always been my hero. More funny stuff is coming, I promise, but I have to be sappy for a moment at least," He assured the crowd, swaying on his own two feet. "Those of you that know Simon well can agree that he is a man of many talents. If you don't believe me, just ask his wife. He's the smartest person I know and it's come to my advantage many times. He's the reason why I wanted to be an expert in explosives because he made it look so easy. His ability to memorize and process information is unreal. On occasion, this freakish gift even makes him money - like that time at the pub in London when he was able to hold a conversation about the Queen for a minute straight - which is surprising considering he was talking to a stranger about this and to all who know Simon, he's not much for talking to strangers. He could've won money that night, but it was really me who made a bet that I could get you out of your shell and made a bet with a random lad to talk about the Queen. So, you're welcome," Soap nodded, chuckling at Simon's continuous glare.
"God save the Queen!" Teeter chimed, balancing on the brink of being tipsy.
"The Queen has passed, love." Price corrected her with a soothing tone of his voice.
"A photographic memory might not translate to marriage, but I do have a few things that will: Simon is a man of integrity. He is very loyal and trustworthy and is not afraid to tell you the truth, even when you don't want to hear it. Trust me, been there many times. He will always support you - if you've earned his respect - and he always brings humor into every situation. And trust me, if he wasn't on the same channel as my comms that night we were stuck in Mexico, I would've had an anxiety attack," Soap nodded. "We have all been so blessed to watch Simon finally find his person in Kiera, who is also a woman of integrity, who is very loyal and trustworthy and who really knows how to love people, but I will say that Kiera can be scarier than Simon. But best yet, Kiera gets Simon's dry humor and stupid jokes. She isn't offended by it and gives it right back to him and can put him in his place," He snickered. "This next chapter is going to be amazing for you two and Simon, I can't wait for you to be a great uncle to my kids someday just as I've watched you be a great father of your own. Although I can still promise that your son will be sporting a mohawk by the time he's five whether you like it or not. And if you protest, I'll send Kiera on you. It took you nearly forty years to find someone as special as Kiera and I know that you're going to cherish her for the rest of your life. So, in closing, I thought it would be appropriate to recite a poem for one of the greatest romantics of our generation: the poem is called My Pony from the poet Genuine... edited version..."
"Bloody fucking hell." Simon grumbled, leaning forward to hide his face in his hands.
"There are kids here, alright?" Soap chuckled. "We all know the song! But here's the poem," He cleared his throat. "I'm just a bachelor, looking for a partner. Someone who knows how to ride without even falling off. Gotta be compatible; takes me to my limits; girl when I break you off, I promise that you won't wanna get ready... I think everyone in this room knows the next verses. I can't lie that the poem was improvised. Teeter and I listened to that song before the wedding and the champagne isn't helping,"
"Remind me to slip a sedative into his drink to shut him up." Simon grumbled to Kiera, his face red.
"But in all seriousness, I'd like to make a toast: to Simon and Kiera, I hope you two spend the rest of your lives with happiness and love, flourishing with each other as you continue to prove all of your friends wrong that you're really a big softie instead of a big and scary man. Simon, in a non-gay way, I love you - your team loves you... and your wife." He snickered, raising his glass as the rest did the same, each holding a smile before releasing laughter at Soap's silly speech.
Kiera laughed as she wrapped her arm around Simon's, rubbing his hand soothingly as she knew he wasn't used to being put on the spot, watching him shake his leg under the table. When the applause ceased and Soap returned to his chair, Eva being the next one to take a spot behind the microphone, her eyes puffy from holding the weathered piece of paper between her fingers. "I definitely can't top that, but I'm sure Simon is appreciative with that relief," She giggled, watching him relax his shoulders as he sat back in his chair, his hand coming down to grasp Kiera's between his hand and thigh, rubbing his thumb over the bulge of her diamond ring. Perfect.
"Although I can add some embarrassing stories about my daughter, I'll do it at the end of this speech to lighten the mood because I know this won't be an easy one. Kiera, sweetheart, this speech was written by your father and he told me to not read it until your wedding day," She sniffled before revealing the paper from its envelope.
Simon sensed Kiera's heartbreak on the horizon. Sitting back in his chair, he stretched his arm behind her and began rubbing her arm with his thumb, preparing himself to pull her into him when she began to cry.
"Since you were born and you were wrapped in that pink blanket and I smelled and held you for the first time, you stole my heart. I remember the first time your mother and I saw you - you were a little flicker on an ultrasound and I remember asking: "What's that light?" and the doctor told me that it was your heartbeat. The day you were born was the best day of my life. The day you were born made me realize what's truly important in my life. I remember your mother and I used to predict how fast time would go by. Each of us hoped you'd stay little forever, but we knew it wasn't true. I remember when you first went to Kindergarten - standing there in your little purple jumper. I still remember you were so happy to go and we were so sad to see you leave, knowing time would go by too quick. But you changed me. You were always up for the next challenge at age four, ready to get on that crazy little pony that drove your mother crazy every time you swung your leg over its back, from me reading stories to you and to us going on cattle drives together. And when it was your last cattle drive with me, I remember how we raced to the top with smiles on our faces. You told me how excited you were to pursue the rest of your life with Simon, tears in your eyes from excitement and happiness. In that same moment, you changed me - you made me realize how beautiful life is and I'm so grateful to have been able to share it with you and your husband, to see how much joy Jacob and Evie bring into your mother and I's lives - filling our house with so much love at every holiday. And now, your new journey starts and I can't wait to see how you change. I remember when we first met Simon. When I first saw you and him together, I knew then that he was going to be the one to hold your heart long after I'm gone. The way he looks at you is the same as how I look at your mother. I just know your wedding is going to be the most special day in our lives and I know I'll have the best seat in the house. No matter how grown you are, you will always be my little girl. No matter how many hard bridges we've crossed together, I've loved you more and more each day." Eva read with tears streaming down her face, Kiera's tears flowing themselves as her lip quivered. "Sweetheart, I've never been more proud of you. You are such an amazing mother and will be the best wife for Simon. He is a man you truly deserve as you're a woman he deserves. I can't wait to see how far you two go on your journey and I'm so happy to be a part of it. I love you two to the stars."

Still too busy to start writing an essay so here's a (selective) dive into my emotional state whilst watching S2:
MOMENTS I CRIED AT:
The Opening second of S2 because I was too excited and overwhelmed
Simon's reaction to getting the solo (I had to pause bc I was genuinely clutching my chest over how happy he was.)
When Wille was putting on the Ball make-up and started crying over how he was becoming exactly the thing he didn't want to be
Wille's reaction after kissing Simon for the first time since last Christmas
Sara's confession about the whole video INITIALLY, and then my tears got more violent when I looked at Simon's face. He didn't even need to say anything, you could already see it (To anyone who posted hate abt Simon this season - We duel at dawn.)
Wille's closing speech; I genuinely thought that he was just going to abdicate, I WAS NOT expecting that.
MOMENTS I (very) NEARLY CRIED AT:
Stella's poem to Fredrika x the 'I'd rather be secretly in love with her than be some ex that she hates'....bro.
The flashback of Erik giving the Frog globe (specifically placed right after it smashes)
When Wille hugged Kristina and Lugwid (LISTEN, HERE ME OUT- Physicality is everything with and for Wille, and to see affection between himself and his parents was emotional.)
Seeing Felice getting her hair done in a salon x Her feeling comfortable in her skin and embracing her natural hair
The Book Discussion Scene - I am bias bc I'm a Literature student but it was so beautifully done
Simon singing THE song at the Ball
Wille's 'I met a friend last term who stirred new feelings in me...in a way, I wish that it never happened, because then I wouldn't know what it feels like' I'M DONE, DUDE, I CAN'T DO THIS-
Wille closing the curtains and then the two laughing...it's cyclical guys...
MOMENTS I LAUGHED AT:
Rosh and Ayub being cupids on the bus and chanting 'REBOUND' (I can't even begin to describe how much I love these two)
Simon and Ayub arguing over what the actual name of Rosh's ex is ('Just like Yasmine.' 'Yasmina.' 'No, Yasmine' 'It's Yasmina, bro.')
When Wille was threatening the Royal Court with going on social media after watching the video of Simon x Marcus at the Karaoke place
Simon lobbing that ball at Wille during Doggeball (With BRUTE. STRENGTH. AND. SPITE.)
Vincent's 'GODMORGON FUCKERS' at the running meet-up
Wille's face @ Nils when he says that he matched with Marcus on Grindr
Post-Romantic Book Discussion SceneTM where Simon is like 'And we don't know what happened after...' and Sara just goes 'Well she killed herself' LSKSLKS
As sad as the scene was, I nearly lost it when Wille put on that fucking wig
Boris curiously watching the utter chaos of Wille's speech at the end as if he didn't 100% contribute to that happening
Speaking of the closing speech, very much amused at the Queen's '*0*' face at hearing Wille admit that it was him
MOMENTS I '???' AT:
Nils saying that Erik saw Boris and that he was 'LGBTQ' certified (Hello?...Is there a connection here?)
Exactly leading on from this - The rumour that Erik dated a girl who did OnlyFans? (This could've easily gone into the laugh list but my initial reaction was just 'wait, what did he say?')
Marcus saying dumb shit like 'I know you don't want to destroy something this beautiful' and 'You're not your Dad'. AFTER A WEEK (Dude...Go listen to 'Take A Hint' by the Victorious Cast 2012 and think about what you just said.)
When August was giving the whole mucho 'OOoo, but if he goes to the police then what about the drug stuff?' SHUT UP FAM
When Kristina told Wilhelm that should he fail to ascend the throne, then August would be next in line. (I mean, I already knew that this was coming so I don't know why I was shocked, but I was shocked)
MOMENTS I '!!!' AT:
When Stella said 'Yeah, we don't keep secrets' and Sara said 'Don't we?' looking directly at her. (My heart has never jumped sm in my life)
Wille legit pointing a gun at August (...If it was me walking by, I would look the other way. If I was a Hillerska student walking by, I would look the other way. If I was some random dog-walking-in-a-field stranger passing by...I would STILL look the other way.)
When Simon ran after Wille and called out his name as Wille was walking down the steps (My hands were flapping in excitement)
The 'They don;t have names' line. CINEMATIC POETRY.
I was really excited by some of the shots/angles this season bc some of them are beautiful (Just to name a few: The Corridor I Love You Scene, The First Look since Christmas Scene, The Ball Sequence etc etc)
When Sara just straight up told August that she wanted to sleep with him, no hesitation, just saying at it is.
When Marcus was batting back at Simon for breaking up with him (I was initially shocked and was ready to rinse Marcus, but after thinking about it, they were hard truths that Simon needed to hear…And as much as Simon shouldn’t have used him as a rebound, Marcus is still a manipulative gaslighter.)
THE SOUNDTRACK - It SLAPPED SO HARD. It was bop after bop. Was I crying whilst bopping at some. Maybe. Was I creaking my bed bc I was dancing so hard at some?

I’m replaying Devil May Cry 5 (again oops) and Vergil’s whole “if our positions were switched” speech sparked an idea. So anyway, have a little AU bit where the twins’ positions were switched and Dante is the power-hungry asshole (and Vergil is a good dad!!)
*
No, no, no.
This was all wrong.
Vergil had struggled in fights before. But he’d never been this genuinely terrified of losing a fight.
He hit the ground hard, his body one giant ache. He’d stopped being able to identify where his latest injury was, because everything hurt so bad. He still pushed himself back to his feet.
Urizen didn’t even look bothered by Vergil’s best efforts. He sat, looking bored by the battle.
Vergil could not believe this was his brother.
“Nero, no!” he shouted as Nero dashed forward for another attack.
Nero was cut down, once again. He crashed to the ground, covered in blood and too injured to get back up this time.
Nero would die if he stayed here.
The thought hit Vergil harder than any of Urizen’s blows.
But he knew Nero wouldn’t leave him. The two had fought together ever since Vergil had discovered Nero in Fortuna and revealed the truth to him.
But for all the training he’d given Nero, nothing would have prepared him for this battle. Nero simply wasn’t strong enough to face Urizen. Bringing him along had been foolish. He’d let Dante’s humanity talk him into it.
Nero was trying so hard to get back up. He grit his teeth against the pain, arms shaking as he tried to support his own weight. He hardly made it to his knees before he was struck again, crying out as he bumped and skidded along the ground.
Vergil let out a snarl and flung himself at Urizen. Maybe he wasn’t strong enough to defeat Urizen, but he was strong enough to distract him before he killed Nero.
Did Urizen even know it was his own nephew he was trying to kill? Did he even care? Would he truly hesitate if he learned he was killing the person Vergil loved most in this world?
“This was a bad move!” Vergil called over his shoulder. He could see that shred of Dante’s humanity lingering nearby. D, he called himself, as if he could not bear to think of himself as Dante when the majority of that foul man was the creature before them now. “D, get Nero out of here!”
“No!” Nero argued, once more trying to get up. The boy didn’t know when to stay down.
“Nero, go! You’re just dead weight!”
He saw the pain the words caused Nero. He refocused on the battle; hurting Nero was better than watching him die.
“I didn’t come all this way for nothing!” Nero yelled. Vergil could see D trying to drag him away. How the kid still had so much fight left in him for someone who could barely stand was amazing. “Let me go! I’m not leaving him! I’m not leaving him!”
Leave it to Nero to trade a blow for a blow.
Vergil thought of his mother all those years ago, pushing him into the closet to keep him safe. Running off to find Dante and dying in the process because the effort was more important than her own life.
He would do the same for his son.
“Go!” he yelled.
His devil trigger form was getting too hard to maintain. If he lost it, he’d surely die. He refused to make Nero watch that.
“No! No, don’t!” Nero’s cries were growing more desperate. “Let me go! I can’t leave him! I won’t! Please, not him!”
The rubble was collapsing, blocking Nero from Vergil’s view. D had a firm grip on him, and Vergil could tell Nero would escape the battle. He was too weak to resist much longer. He would make it out okay.
Vergil kept fighting; he had to. If he failed here, it would fall on Nero’s shoulders, and Vergil knew Nero could not rise to this challenge, strong as he was. This was too much for a boy. This was Vergil’s responsibility, and he couldn’t let it fall to his son.
In the end, he failed.
In the end, his last thought was of his son fighting so hard not to abandon him.
In the end, as he lost consciousness, he was grateful to have found his son, and devastated to have dragged him into this.
In the end, the thought of protecting Nero is all that drove Vergil to survive, even as everything around him went dark.

My Mister. 나의 아저씨. 8.3/10
I would recommend this drama to my friends. I would rewatch this drama.
Even though the intro has a lot of snow, it makes the show seem so warm. I could tell I was going to love this show within the first few minutes.
Jung Jae Sung from Big Mouth and Prison Playbook is always a welcome face despite playing not great guys lmao. Nice to see Kim Min Seok from Start Up. Omg Kim Young Min from CLOY being trash. Omg Ryu Abel, what's up. She's still so pretty. Interesting for Now We Are Breaking Up's Jang Ki Yong to be this kinda character.
How does Ji An know Ki Beom? He's loyal too.
Life's homework of having someone to meet on New Year's and Lunar New Year's: noted. This young Ji An actress really be looking like young IU. Omg your company reading your texts through CCTV. Unheard of. Ji An monitoring Dong Hoon's phone calls are like how people joke about the FBI monitoring our online activity.
Gi Hoon pisses me off. He gets angry, makes baseless accusations, and does wrong things. It's interesting how he portrays real family so well though in my opinion. Both the other brothers are a bit unlikable (even though ultimately we love them). They're very immature. It's hard to have family that's family but have characteristics so unlike yours.
I cried at grandma's death. She is my favorite character. Grandma is a moon girl like me. Grandma is also a food girl like me.
All the things IU does with Ki Beom are so sly, slick, and kinda cool. She's malicious and intelligent. The things Ji An overhears through Dong Hoon's phone, it's probably like watching a kdrama unfold.
It's interesting how differently the three brothers think and yet find a common love for each other. Their thoughts on the afterlife are different and yet it all makes sense. What a fresh concept Dong Hoon said about reality being hell and he must've done something wrong in the past to end up here. I've though of reality as hell and I've thought of my current life being based on previous life somehow (not that I believe that) but it's fresh to really think that your current life is the afterlife. It's like the same things but with a slightly different perspective.
One of the best things is Ji An starting to care for Dong Hoon as she listens to his phone. How she starts physically chasing after his location, how she kinda relies on listening to the phone. I love Lee Sun Kyun in this kinda role. Very likable. Grandma is the MVP. Since she can't speak, I wonder what she's thinking about. Albeit great acting in showing me how she feels. I smile when Yoo ra smiles. It's genuinely happy. I love how the men understood her after her failure speech and loved her. It's beautiful because even though everyone sees Dong Hoon as a non-talking guy, he's very often vulnerable (esp, with Ji An), and I love that. I love Ji An and Dong Hoon eating and drinking in silence. Amazing how all of Dong Hoon's friends and bros ran to beat up who beat him up. What kinda crew. I'm not friends with enough loyal crazies to do that for me. It's beautiful how much of a crew all the friends are. So loyal and having each other's backs. I'm so glad they take care of Ji An too, especially at the funeral. Ji An's first thank you was so memorable to me. Kinda meek but sincere. She hasn't said a thank you this whole time. I really like the bag that the slipper gift comes in.
It's so tragic to see the whole Ji An discovering that her grandma can get free care thing. Because it's true. Without guidance, how do we know? And people who have money or parents who understand things don't get it.
Wow when Ji An started running to the Minette to confront Yoon Hee, I was like woah woah she's on the move she's on the move. Whenever Ji An runs I'm like yess!! feelings!! Her running when she overhears Dong Hoon asking for her and calling her pretty. I'm with it.

all of part 1 aas my favourite i think because it was the most emotional for me personally.
*im so sorry this is so long i’m just really passionate about poyt5*
Anyway my specific favourite scene of part1 was defo steve’s fight with peter and the aftermath I think because it was so interesting seeing Steve battle with his emotions.Throughout poyt he’s always been so strong and confident and it was really exciting to see him confused and vulnerable.I was so glad Steve automatically assumed it was Peter who initiated the joss and beat the shit out of him because i was worried he would be angry with Omega like how he was when he saw her with Sam in poyt4.It also was so intense watching it all play out and i don’t know how to describe it but it was almost satisfying I guess to finally see Steve lose control(I know that sounds weird but i was literally like “beat his ass steve!”throught the fight)Also Omega absolutely slayed when she spoke up to tell Steve that she wouldn’t forgive him if he killed Peter.I felt like a proud parent.
OMG and when Peter have that big speech??!! I was so shocked I wasn’t expecting it at all(because he was on the brink of death i didn’t think he would’ve had the nerve LOL).And Steves reaction top it all oh my god.Again throughout poyt we’ve only really seen the confident side of steve (apart from poyt4)that’s so sure of himself and it was so refreshing to watch him physically battle his emotions. Also Steve having a panic attack?!?! wasn’t expecting that. Once again loved it because it was so different to the steve were used to seeing AND the way omega comforted him!!I was so proud of her, because that was the first time we’d seen her initiate any physical intimacy because normally she’s too shy!!That was so cute I literally felt my heart melting and when they sat there hugging eachother UGH LOVED IT!!!!!
It also made me giggle when Steve made Omega play that stupid game so he could justify asking her if she loved Peter,he’s so silly.
Now onto the part with Omegas Mom BECAUSE OH MY FUCKING GOD I WASNT EXPECTING THAT.Bestie I’m a sensitive girlie who cries easy you CANNOT do that to me without a warning!!! I was crying so hard bro even after I’d finished reading, as I was trying to fall asleep I was still crying feeling so bad for Omega.I cannot believe the nerve of that woman, she leaves her daughter with a letter she might not have even seen?!? and then attempts to justify her actions by saying “you could always look after yourself better than I ever could”. EXCUSE ME?!?!THATS BECAUSE YOU MADE HER HAVE TO LOOK AFTER HERSELF.Yeah that whole scene at her childhood home was incredibly emotional especially when she mentioned seeing the ghost of her younger self and started screaming after reading the letter(I’m literally tearing up as I type this)I loved steve’s reaction and when he said “we’ll be each-other’s homes”.That was such a beautiful full-circle moment because in the beginning he uses her relationship with her mom to manipulate her into being with him and instead this time he actually tries to comfort her instead of making her feel bad about it.God when she mentioned she’d wanted to die my heart shattered, poor Omega she’s so strong, but I was very proud of Steve I think he did a good job at comforting her.
Another thing I loved that wasn’t a part of part 1 was when they figured out that Steve got her pregnant the first time they got together and he was like “Well you see I told her doctor…” I laughed so hard it was so funny to his old cocky self appear for a moment. OH and when she kissed him and he was like “two months ago you could barley look at me let alone kiss me” I was blushing so hard I genuinely loved that bit like i know it’s a small moment but those are always my favourite. I don’t know how to describe it I was smiling so hard and just felt really warm inside and i was so proud of Omega because of how far she’s come and everything she’s been through.

Thank you so so much for reading!!!
Steve’s panic attack scene was definitely something that I wanted to write since the beginning when I was first thinking about this chapter! I don’t know if I did it justice but I really tried to just write down what I personally felt when I have had panic attacks in the past! It was a bit of a struggle to write that scene bc I didn’t know if I was conveying it well enough! I just wanted to show his slow breakdown at Peter’s words bc you’d never expect an alpha like him to be so affected by Peter’s words.
On to omega’s mom’s letter… I wanted to try and convey like… a nonchalant type of air to it?? Also I love how you mentioned how Steve in the past literally used her lack of a relationship with her mom to manipulate her and now he’s the one comforting her… bc omfg I honestly didn’t even notice that parallel??? But it’s so true!!! It really shows how Steve did change a lot from the guy we first saw!!
And LMFAOOO Steve during the ultrasound appointment 😂😂 just being his smug self. I wouldn’t say that’s his “old” self bc he’s still like that! He’ll always be like that hahaha. Also when he was being awkward with the doctor all like “she’s pregnant so do your thing…” BAHAHAHA (not me chucking at my own shit hahaha)
And you’re right, all the little moments between them were heartwarming and I’m glad you liked those. I tried to sprinkle them throughout the fic bc I wanted to make y’all smile through your tears lol
ily bestie thanks for this fab review!! 🥰💜
