When people say "they won't talk about their feelings!" of someone going through it, I always feel bad for that person because maybe they're worried that once you know, you'll bring those feelings up when they're not ready for them. You have the knowledge and the power to ruin their day when they're fighting so hard to compartmentalize, and to you it feels like helping and caring but to them it feels like bumping into them while they're trying not to let water spill from a cup.
#i get stressed very easily#especially financially#so i try not to think about it unless i have to actively deao with it#but then my mother will bring it up and it's like can you not I'm trying to enjoy lunch not vomit from anxiety#i work so hard to not get carried away and its so easy to rip that down you know#like yes paying off a mortgage will suck i am aware#however there is nothing i can do abt it at 8pm on a sunday over roast dinner so why are we bringing it up

#bakuspeech#and I guess this counts as#bakuspecial#ouuuuuu#my art! on cards! characters I kinda got to build with my visuals!!#also upon getting this which I had mailed to the senpai's place instead of mine in an effort to break the curse we immediately#ran a game. that was supposed to be short. but ended up extending past midnigt#AND had to stop for the night before act 2 even begins#but. its SO fun. the game pieces do just the right amount of heavy lifting for u that it frees u up to make up Real out there stuff#like. we ran a game on the browser version. and while it was also Really fun it got stressful to make stuff up#now if we're stuck we just pick up cards#and like. idk for kinda the first time really? I get the appeal of roleplaying with someone else#I'm usually such a control freak about the stories I tell lmao#with the visual aids in this set I get to imagine the character dynamics so much more easily#like this time around the senpai picked the scientist archetype#and he made that guy a white guy with some means who has been sending people to death to serve his science#and my character's an asian guy who was with a pest control service (yes I picked the trevor henderson character lmao)#who got drafted into the bureau and works as like cleanup/fodder#so immediately I got to go like oh so I hate your guts. and you condescend at me#which turned out to be a Very fun dynamic to roleplay lmao#throughout act 1 we've made this dynamic steadily Worse. one of them envies the other into oblivion#while the other can now communicate with No one except his mission partner#and we're gonna craft the second act as chase. a predator and a prey. gods. it was SO fun#its so funny both of them were touting to be smart or good at their job. and then they went into the zone and Immediately got fucked up#this game really gives u that satisfaction and fascination with like. when things go wrong in way too thematically fitting and messy ways#lmao my contract's fulfilled I do not have to talk this game up. its just really fun. man I enjoy that so much#sadly my pool of english speakers who can play this game with me is not big#I'll try and find time to run a few small games in the near future... maybe during lunar new year#I was over at the senpai's today to toast out birthdays lol. to get that out of the way we've been planning something like that for weeks#weve been both way too busy. with different sliding scales of uh. how pleasant that busy's been

i've been dying for a poll option ever since i saw my followers' answers to that text post from february 2022 asking people whether they pronounce beloved as "be-lov-ed" or "be-loved". many people were emphatic about only using one option, and many others use both but were not always able to articulate when they use 2 syllables vs. 3. so out of the goodness of my heart and my insatiable lust for knowledge i have gone through the notes on that post and written down some likely contenders! you're welcome!!!!
BEFORE YOU ANSWER! think about how you would pronounce beloved in the following syntactic contexts:
noun, talking directly to the beloved: hey there beloved
noun, talking about rather than to the beloved: my beloved lives in a pineapple under the sea
adjective in a noun phrase: my beloved x lives in a pineapple under the sea
verb participle: x is beloved by y
okay poll time! there are no wrong answers!! and apologies in advance if i didn't capture your truth, i only had 10 options and life is a rich tapestry!!
#oh man i could have easily come up with another 5-8 options but they cap you at 10. which is probably a good thing#one person said they say 'my be-lov-ed x' but 'my much be-loved x'. the only difference being the 'much'. couldn't fit that one on here#someone else said they use 3 syllables in a possessive noun phrase (my be-lov-ed x) but 2 if it's not possessive (the be-loved x)#one person said it depends on whether it's past or present & i wasn't exactly sure what that meant. 'x is beloved' vs. 'x was beloved'?#i also think there's likely a distinction for some people between 'x was beloved' and 'x was beloved by y' but couldn't get into that#oh and then there's 'beloved by' vs. 'beloved of'#and since some of these are syntactic distinctions and some are semantic or otherwise i'm sure there's a whole matrix of combinations#like '3-syll noun if it's a person but 2 if it's a thing. 2-syll adjective/verb participle for both people and things'#that was beyond the scope of this poll lol#but mostly why i'm so curious is because people will very emphatically say something that might not mean what they think it means#like for instance i got the impression that at least some of the people saying 'be-lov-ed when i'm talking to them‚ be-loved when i'm#talking about them' actually mean they use be-lov-ed as a noun and be-loved otherwise#and some of the people saying 'always 2 syllables' probably have exceptions that they weren't thinking of at the moment#in particular 'dearly beloved'#and i'm very curious to know if 3-syllable people still use 3 syllables in the construction 'he was beloved by all'#so i think people's answers might change when given a list of more detailed options#fun with pronunciation#prosody#my posts#also i stressed for so long about what to call beloved in the 'x is beloved by y' construction#but settled on verb participle because i think it's fairly descriptive and accurate#so hopefully that's not too confusing? like it is a verb participle but for a verb that doesn't exist anymore (other than the participle)?#and even in 'my beloved x' beloved is a verb participle being used as an adjective if you're thinking more etymologically#but a lot of people were distinguishing 'be-loved as a verb' from other forms and i assume what they meant by that was 'x is beloved'

#tiddytaco#b#thinking about it rn bc today while i was driving my mom home from pt#she saw someone she knew from years ago driving & was like FOLLOW THAT CAR & we met them in a parking lot#& the conversation turned to 'hey what the hell happened to your parents' pretty quickly bc our families hadnt been in touch#& it was a long conversation in the hobby lobby parking lot#& idk if itll ever Stop being fresh in my mind but now its Extra fresh in my mind#that whole time period was just so insane & awful#bc it was like Ok we're caring for both grandparents#& then my grandpa died#& all our pets at the time were very old#& when he died it occurred to me that we could easily lose both grandparents and all 3 pets within the year#it turned out to be like a long drawn-out year & a half from the first to the last#& looking back it seems impossible that is was that short a time period bc it felt like an eternity#we got off easy with grandpa bc he died before it got too bad but with grandma it just kept getting Worse#& the climax of the caring experience was traveling to take her to my uncle bc he wanted to take his shift caring for her#& that was so . So bad. SO bad#like it literally could not have gone more smoothly and it was SO bad#just thinking about it i feel like im there again i get so stressed out

#blame Kat for this lmao. she got the Yangchen novels first and I very easily give in to peer pressure (that wasn't exerted. but whatever)#three days earlier than scheduled too. which worked out perfectly bc I picked them up on the way home from grandma's#and carried them for 2 km. 2 hardcover books + the thick cardboard boxset they're in#+ the backpack full of food my grandma gave me#in the rain#I nearly fucking died#I'm not made for this level of physical exercise 😅#okay moving on#nia stop calling things like this poor financial decisions challenge#it cost like. the equivalent of 40 bucks#I have 30 times as much hidden away in my sock drawer#and I am usually responsible with my spending. I'm allowed a slightly more expensive treat every once in a while#also my dad doesn't know but I'm sure if I would him 'hey I spent 3.8k on a pair of books is that okay'#he'd be like 'why tf are you asking when have I ever said no to you spending money'#but again. I do try to be mindful#which is why as much as I want the lok art books and could probably ask for money for them. I won't#bc they cost an arm and a leg and I cannot morally allow myself to spend that kind of money#anyway. getting distracted again#do you know how hard it was to get these? I checked like 3 marketplaces before I did#and I was fully ready to get them in russian because non-classical english books are impossible to come by here#sanctions and all that. but somehow I did. and it only cost half the money in my bank account#I don't even know if Russian editions exist. these books were written before the war and before the gay propaganda ban but still#I didn't find them when I looked. maybe they don't sell them now that the law is in place or smth#I don't really care enough to look it up#the point is. I now own the books and can happily read about best girl kyoshi whenever I want#if the stress for an upcoming event doesn't kill me. that is#also I have read rok before but it was 3 years ago so my memory is vague. and I just realised how much thinner sok is?#I'll have to check the page count later

When a cat gets her claw stuck on something and just tugs at it pathetically while looking at me so I have to just grab her and maneuver her claw free. Because she's so stupid that she doesn't understand that Tugging doesn't free something that is hooked onto something. You must Push.

VERY ferocious when it comes to hunting bugs.#will force her way out of an unappealing situation. whether or not she should be able to.#she also bites all the time. like all the time. i cant cuddle with her bc i just end up getting chewed on.#i still Try to cuddle with her but ya kno.#anyways theyre both dumbasses but tally is somehow even more of a dumbass#despite being the sleek black cat to june's calico. tally is kiki and june is bouba. and tally is the dumber one.#every so often they come with me on trips and theyre in the boxes for over an hour. neither of them like this.#but once theyre freed. well tally is just fine. no grudges no lingering stress. nah shes Exploring!!!#whereas june runs and hides and stays hidden for days. as much as possible. to avoid more box times.#tally forgives and forgets. june holds grudges. theyre both pretty stupid though.

i try n assume everyone has good intentions first unless proven otherwise to combat my immediate instinct to assume everyone is out to get me, but also because i know it takes a long time to learn how to control your temper and i know from experience that if youre not given the space to fail at it not only will you never learn but youll end up resenting yourself . if no one else is gonna give people that grace at least i can .

Sooooo, the local bookshop that's popped up retains Pratchett books for me and keeps them for two weeks so I can come collect them before The Competition is allowed to have them (he's an arse, really mean and rude so they have No Problem flat out going "nope! Sorry! None of those right now!" while, ya know, a stack of em is right behind them at the counter lmao).
Anyway, the manager is very stressed and tired of some of the staff who are... not very good at their job and literally, while talking to me about The Competition, when I agree and reach the same Obvious Conclusions™ about stuff like "are the books in the window for sale?" (they have price stickers on, the answer is yes, or there are copies that are) and goes "do you want to work here?"
So, long story short, any of ya'll wanna help me translate my CV into Scots Gaelic because I pulled out the Scots brogue and I wasn't raised to not follow through on a joke lmao?

#kirbyliker12art#the witch's house#ok so theres parental neglect and psychological abuse uhh a handful of killing and some body horror#theres so much psychological torment i know i said this but i cant stress this enough this will Absolutely Ruin You#the witchs house is about the corruption of an innocent wish after being used by another and punishment never being delt#theres a shit ton of unreliable narration and reading between the lines and reoccurring symbols and other insane stuff#ive genuinely never seen a character get written in such an unlikeable way but in a very slightly pitiful way(and 100% being intentional)#theres also the light novel this was based on (The Diary Of Ellen) n theres some small details and symbolism exclusive to that#like. ok i cant really say it here i dont wanna spoil but thats why its better to read it after the manga#u can notice all the details not present in the manga and think abt all da implications#however said body horror is elaborated on in a more detailed way and since its text u cant really skip past that as easily#u can prob pirate the manga if im bein honest and theres a fan translation link for the light novel on the wiki page at the bottom#why is this so weirdly well written its the prequel to an rpgmaker game .u guys know what witchs house rpg is right..u better#u dont have to know what happens in the game before reading i think its more intense that way (the game is more surprising though)

The Last Of Us Part 2 has a ton of accessibility options and Control has damage multiplier and reduction (up to being literally invincible) and Layers of Fear 2 has a "safe mode" that removes the danger monsters pose and I just LOVE that games are moving towards "play however you want, it's cool if you just want the story without difficulty, just have fun!" and away from the "if you play on easy you're a coward" bs I grew up with
#video games#i love horror but get scared and stressed out easily#so being able to discover and enjoy the story safely is really fucking cool#jumpscares yes monster chases no#and yes walking sims can still be very scary#unpopular opinion: video games should be fun#fun is different for everyone#if you like being chased by monsters that's super cool#i don't (if i can't fight back)#i like spooky jumpscare walking sims that aren't actually dangerous
