Okay sorry I was talking with my mother

1) I hate sir Pentious’s new character. Sure, he’s fun. But oh my gosh, I miss his old character. The way that’s he’s not at all remorseful and just purely wants destruction  and to rule over the pentagram city. But now he’s too goody goody(I haven’t seen the new episode, pls don’t spoil it), and turned WAYYYY to easily over to Charlie’s anti-Christ ass, and wanting to be redeemed. He should have stayed a spy for longer and I would’ve loved to see his dynamic grow with the Vees(especially Vox) and how he worked for them as a spy. His rape scene wasp so uncomfortable and unnecessary, and speaking of that his and cherris relationship should of never of even been thought about. It’s such an awkward thing, as they’re rivals and Cherri has destroyed things that he’s made and insults him.

2) speaking of Cherri, she offered Angel drugs(which seems like it’s a normal thing for them as she’s so causal about it) when she knew he was there at the hotel that’s for redemption, but also she was so rude to Angel when he was trying to get Nifty out of the cleaning closet??? She’s a much better friend in the pilot and in the addict music video. She’s showing actual friendship and concern for Angel, nothing like she does now.

3) Alastor. Sure, I like his moments, but he’s so painfully edgy it’s not that good. His radio sound effects are good, I miss the old effects that he had in the pilot and his old voice actor, but of course viv is a “it’s my way or the high-way” gal and she dumped all of the previous cast. He’s nearly completely different now, claiming that Charlie is like his daughter(I swear to god he better be manipulative to her in that moment), when in the pilot he openly mocked her and what she was trying to do. He seems way to open about his emotions and wanting r help Charlie, using a TV(???) and playing along when what she wants to do. He also seems to much like an attention whore, which could be a good character trait if he wasn’t the way he is now. Also he’s too touchy touchy with everyone, especially Charlie.

4) Angel dust is not as interesting now as he was to me in the pilot. Now he’s just a porn star who gets raped and abused and is going to be redeemed. I’d love to see his old character traits(from before the pilot and during, such as mafia, insane, violent, ect), rather than just “oh he’s a gay sex spider who sometimes does violence but he’s such a good person now for finding love and refusing drugs!!!! :3”.

5) Husk’s new voice. I see the appeal of his new one, but his old voice actor just hit different. Make that skinny 1970s gambler man sound like he smokes 5 packs a day. Also I can’t stop thinking about the cat from Coraline.

6) almost everything about vaggie. Her design, her actions, and her backstory. It’s cool that she’s a fallen Angel but oh my gosh!! Don’t reveal that in the first season!! Slow burn that shit!! And why did she do quickly realize that he’s murdering ‘innocent souls’?? They’re in hell for a reason, she didn’t have to think that just because it was a kid it was innocent of any crimes it did. They revealed it too soon, it would have been a good twist for season 2.

7) vivziepop seemingly mocks Christianity and I had to look up how Saint Peter looked like, AND SHE WHITE-WASHED HIM SO BAD. HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE HE SHOULD, AND HES SUCH A COMPLEX PEROSN FROM THE BIBLE AND AND SHORTENED HIS CHARACTER SO BADLY.

-Dante’s Divine Comedy is 100 cantos (verses?) split into 3 parts: Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven; Inf. has 34 cantos and the others have 33.

-The story follows his journey alongside Virgil (the Greek Roman poet who wrote the Aeneid, which follows Aeneus, who was a Trojan [from Troy, an island in modern Turkey] who, with divine guidance, founded Rome [?] to civilize the world)

-malevolent comes from bad wishes; think volition

-the Malebranche(s?) were demons who were tasked with torturing the greedy (?) extortionists and politicians (?) who tried to surface from the lake of boiling pitch; each of the demons were named after contemporary “celebrity” figures and I think is something like a tongue-in-cheek pun making fun of them

-Limbo is the “top” layer of Hell, where there is no punishment except lack of connection to the divine (sounds familiar, living the same life but lacking a greater meaning… truly a mild form of hell). Jesus lifts several renowned souls from here into Paradise.

-Achilles was in the second layer, lust, for being lured to his death by someone’s daughter

-Joe Jonas was at Virgil Abloh’s funeral, and the entire wikipedia page for that man is some absolute rich people shit (no offense to the guy I don’t really know much about him)

-the Bugatti Veyron was named for an engineer who helped design it and was supposedly sold at a substantial loss per car; only 450 were build, and its top speed is between 250 and 300 miles per hour (1 mile every 12 to 15 seconds)

-the Chiron was named for, um, wait sorry I forgot

-Charon is Pluto’s moon; Pluto is also Hades; Charon does not appear to have a Roman counterpart

-Styx comes from the Greek word stugein which means hate. The word Stygian is very cool

-if you weren’t buried with money and couldn’t pay the toll to have Mercury (Hermes) take you across the river Styx, you had to walk its banks for 100 years before you were allowed to cross

-Apollo is both Roman and Greek (?) (was borrowed directly from Greek into Roman) (not confusing at all)

-the Wikipedia page for “list of cultural references in DC” is a mile long and I didn’t even make it through the A’s before it was time for bed

-Arachne challenged Athena to a weaving contest and got turned into a spider… I bet this is where Ancient Greek/Roman people thought spiders came from, like they were all her kin

-wait does this have anything to do with Paradise Lost? (a 1667 epic poem by John Milton… I’ll come back to this one [maybe])

-DC was written in the 1300s and took 20 years to write, Dante Alighieri died shortly after and apparently it was normal back then for it all to be in verse (and I bet I’m missing sooo much nuance by not being able to read it in its original Italian)

-Rome was a (bicameral?) republic until Julius Caesar, who was a dictator, was famously stabbed in the back by Brutus, per William Shakespeare’s play called the same, which was *not* written in old English. After JC died the Roman empire started with Augustus (see July -> August), then Tiberius, the latter two were mentioned in the Bible as the relevant emperors during the events of Jesus’ life

-there was a Roman emperor later on named Titus, which makes me think of Titus Andronicus, which is also a Shakespeare play that I otherwise know nothing about

Wick modern AU: Explained +Some fun facts

Uhm, i was gonna wait until i finish this AU's synopsis and new book cover, but both will be taking a while until they get ready...

And i wanted to post this "overview" for a while now, anyways, here's some fun facts and a summary of the story:

I'm really proud of Sam's shading, but the twins look weird and Tom looks old...I won't use this cover, 'cus Travis and Duncan are main characters as well and i want to include them on the cover. +My art style changed!

Story summary:

Just a quick thing! I changed quite a few things to fit the narrative and the modern days setting, i hope you understand!

The story of this AU happens in September 2014, a little less than a month until Sam’s birthday, where the Weavers aren't dead– Well, most of them aren't...

The narrative is centered on a curse, that was based on the audio that plays when you pick up Benny's bible, where 7 people are affected by it: Tim, Tom, John, Sam, John's brother/Sam's dad(I won't name him), Mary and James.

Sam's, Travis' and Duncan's side of the story will be more on the investigative side maybe with a bit of comedy(I'm not good with writing that, so it will most likely be just investigation), while Tim and Tom's side will be the more angst and unusual/horror side. Sam will have a bit of horror as well, since he's linked with them by the curse, but the twins will definitely have the spotlight when it comes to horror/unusual stuff.

Fun Facts:

General:

The story happens a week, maybe a bit more, after summer break

Even tho one of the first chapters is set on school, them going to school will probably just be mentioned or implied, Example: Them leaving a school bus

For some reason, i saw a few stories where everyone knew what polio is and how it works, which i felt it wouldn't be realistic, so that won't happen here

It has a lot of paranormal stuff

The summer camp by the Weaver's property is closed and has been like that for a few years now

Just Mary and James call the twins Changelings, the rest of the city knows there are "changelings" walking around, just, not that the twins are them

There's no changelings, they think there is, but in reality it's just a curse(like that's something lighter than a demon switched with a child at birth)

The song that helps me get in the mood of this story when I'm writing is "Far too young to die" by Panic! At the disco

Timas Weaver:

Tim is 12, he'll be 13 in...approximately 3 months

He was born December 30th 2001 and is the oldest between him and Tom

He's almost an inch shorter than Tom

He has a huge burn scar! It goes from a bit more than half of his chest, both his arms, his palms and his whole neck, he got that scar when he was 3 years old

He's does not have asthma, but he does have extreme pyrophobia on it's place

He has flat affect, his face doesn't match his emotions/he looks serious most of the time(I'm so sorry if I don't portrait it right! Please give me constructive criticism if I do something wrong here!)

He's a theater kid and would be quoting a lot of musicals if Mary didn't isolate him and Tom from the world(The theater part only exists because of his and Tom's masks)

The whittling thing exists here, but like, it won't be of much importance to the story, the knife will! But not the whittle part

He despises spiders and it's Tom's fault!

He climbs trees (there's not much I can say here to be honest)

He has this...i don't know if you can call it a quirk, but, he tends to tilt his head to the left, it's kinda random

He's ambidextrous, was left handed, but Mary forced him to learn to use his right hand

He teached himself how to throw knifes...don't mess with him

Tomathy Weaver:

Tom is 12 and will be 13 in approximately 3 months

He was born December 30th 2001 and is the youngest between him and Tim

He's almost an inch taller than Tim

He doesn't have Polio now, he did when he was...around 5 years old

His left leg is bigger than his right one, his right feet reaches his left ankle

His left ankle is paralyzed, that's why he uses a leg brace

He's claustrophobic, he developed that on the same day Tim got his scar and pyrophobia

He won first place on a spelling bee before he got Polio and he used to spell when he got anxious, but after John's disappearence he started shuddering, shaking and cracking his joints instead, very similar to how he shudders on the game

He loves spiders!

He is really flexible, but, because of his polio, he can't play around with it anymore

He likes to draw

He has pretty bad scoliosis

Caleb Weaver:

Caleb is 9 years old

He was born August 19th 2005

He's almost the same height as Timas

He was a year old when Tom had polio

He's actually James' kid, not John's

He won first place in 2014's(the year the story happens) county track meet

He dislikes Tim

Lillian Weaver:

Lillian is 5 years old

She was born February 28th 2009

She's a bit tall for her age

She's notorious for making little deals between her and her siblings, like helping them get away with something in exchange of something(getting her out of class during their recess, buying a new plushy, etc.)

She's a really curious and affectionate kid, loves hugs, kisses and especially being picked on someone's lap

She loves bunnies(even tho this isn't a surprise)

Benjamin Weaver:

Benjamin is 14 years old and will be 15 in less then a month

He was born October 24th 1999

He's just really tall compared to the twins (it's kinda funny, Tim and Tom are 4 years older than Caleb, but they are just an inch taller than him)

He's really religious and prays a lot for his siblings' health and safety

He's been trying to take care of Tom after John's disappearence, since Mary doesn't do it, much the opposite, she hides Tom's medicines on purpose

Mary Weaver:

I didn't give her neither an age nor a birthday...i probably need to do that

She had an affair with James, when the twins were 4 and Benny was 6, Caleb was born from this affair

She doesn't hit any of her kids, but she does neglect most of them

On the nights between Saturday and Sunday, she doesn't sleep, she spends this time praying with a candle, then, before they go to church, she writes everything that happened that night on her diary

She has a lot of diaries, she keeps them in the attic

She's a little bitch(i don't know what else to say about her)

Pastor James McAlroy:

James also doesn't have an age nor birthday (i only have the Weaver kids and Sam's birthdays)

He won't appear much, but he does have a big role on the story

He's Caleb's biological dad(i mentioned that like 3 times already)

He tried doing a "honest-to-god exorcism" on the twins, it was just a cover for an attempt of murder

He's a toxic little shit(there's not much I can say about him)

Samuel Burton:

Sam is 12 years old and will be 13 in less than a month

He was born in October 2nd 2001

Him and Travis are Brothers on their mom's part

He's cousin with the Weavers, minus Caleb, they just don't know each other

He can be just as smug as Travis sometimes

He absolutely hates going on ghost hunting, he thinks it's dumb

He has long hair and freckles all over his body

He's just too lazy to tie his own shoes

He's the only one that remembers to bring a backpack when ghost hunting

While Travis is the camera man, he's the flashlight guy

Travis Burton:

Travis is 15 years old and i don't have a birthday for him, well, he would be born in 1999 just like Benny

He doesn't like wearing glasses, but doesn't have other choice, he either doesn't take proper care of his lenses and gets his eyes irritated or he just lost them

He's the face of his and Duncan's channel

He tries to drag Sam to be part of the channel, but he doesn't really want to be part of it

He cusses way too much

He's brave, only because he goes face first into danger without thinking

Duncan:

Duncan is 15 and would also be born in 1999

Big ass coward, sends Travis and Sam to go investigate on his place every fucking time

If you've stumbled across this blog, it's either from one of my more popular mutuals or a random fandom post I made. I'm sorry because I guarantee you are not getting what you came for.

The name's ETheArtist, you can call me either E or Denny. I don't mind either. She/her, female, straight. I'm over the age of 18 but try to keep this blog PG-13 as much as possible. There will probably be horror/light gore/the occasional suggestive content but that's as far as it goes.

I have an interest in cartoons, video games, and anime. I absolutely adore animals (yes, including snakes and spiders) and cool art.

I am a libertarian. My political opinion on most things boils down to 'fuck the government, leave me alone'. Pro gun, pro life, pro equal rights, pro public mocking of any and all politicians.

I'm a Christian so expect bible verses and memes. I'm not here to force my religion down people's throats, but this is my blog so... I'm gonna post what I want.

Personality / Brief history / important things about MC / Reader for my fanfics or when I make requests.

Okay, I decided to do this more for myself when I make a request to someone, but this is also useful to let you know a little more about the MC / "reader" of my fanfics.

The MC is a cis-woman of almost 1.60cm in height, (age may vary) but generally the age will be between 20 and 23. She is heterosexual/straight (I don't know if there is a difference between the two things, but I don't understand why I would have two words for the same thing) and usually in fanfics she has never had a boyfriend before the character she will be together with (be it Jake (Duskwood), Jason (Todd), Spencer (Reid) or any other character). 

She was born in Brazil and lived a large part of her life there, and depending on what story she is in, she makes an interchange trip abroad because of college, and because of that she lives far from her family and lives alone, but she has her faithful companion, a male Schnauzer dog (his name in fanfics is undetermined.)

MC has always been a lonely person, because after several events in the past she does not trust people easily, and the only people she does trust are her family, but she still has trouble talking about her problems to them.

Furthermore, MC is a very shy, introverted, anti-social person and suffers from social phobia, which of course, is a perfect combo to be an alien in society and not be able to make friends, even if she wants to.

MC also doesn't know where it all started from, but she does know that she has probably suffered from anxiety for many, many years, even though she only discovered it a short time ago, and went to get help even less time ago.

Because of anxiety, she ends up being stuck in her own world, or I should call it, hell itself. Her mind is a mess, bad, unreal and meaningless thoughts invade her mind all the time, and because she has been this way for so long without help and not knowing what to do, her situation has worsened to the point where her anxiety starts to change into a depressive anxiety.

However, as much as she has been suffering with her own mind for years, she can always count on her family whenever she needs them, even if they are distant from each other, they are inseparable. 

Her father, as much as he doesn't understand most of the things she goes through, supports her and wants the best for MC, and so he does what he can to help MC pay for psychological treatment, and even though he doesn't understand, he always makes her smile and laugh, even when the situations are bad, even though he was always busy because of work, he always did what he could to be together, even in the simplest things, like family lunch, playing video games, watching movies, shopping together.

Her mother, on the other hand, has been through similar things like MC, and always try to help her the way she can, always speaking encouraging words, helping MC to do her things when she couldn't, sleeping next to the MC when she couldn't sleep because of anxiety, always being by her side, always supporting any decision, no matter the situation, MC's mom will always be there to hear her, either to hear about something that MC wants to do a lot or when she has some fear. 

And there is also her younger brother (3 years younger), as much as they ended up arguing for silly things, he is her best friend, maybe her only true friend, always having fun together doing what they like, protecting each other, always being one for another, even when it was not known which words were right to say.

MC is blessed to have such an amazing family, and as much as she couldn't say "I love you, you are everything to me" to them, she loved them with all her heart and soul, and she couldn't say what would happen to her if she lost them, but probably something really bad would happen.

As much as it seemed that MC doesn't care about other people, maybe looking selfish and boring to others, she cares a lot about others, but she knows that this is also one of the big reasons why she suffers from anxiety, caring for others more than for herself, and for her own mental health, she had to try not to think so much about the problems of the world that she cannot solve. 

Some people may think that she was wrong in doing this, but she wanted to have some sanity, even if little and trying to recover, than to go crazy with things that are impossible to fix, at least impossible for her to fix.

As much as many find it strange, MC is very happy in her work, and does not mind working in "simple" jobs (basically jobs that earn little), and as much as she doesn't have much money, just enough to live reasonably well, she is happy with what she has and doesn't care about the money.

I think that's it, there are some other things that I only do when I'm writing specific situations, for example, MC's opinions on certain subjects, and honestly I don't have time at the moment to make the MC's different opinions, and just say that she tries to be as neutral as she can, because she knows that extremes are never good, and that when asked which side she is in a situation (depending on what it is, but usually she says), she says doesn't have a side because it doesn’t identify herself by either side, because both are extreme, and this usually leads people to think that it’s on the fence, but it’s not like that, it’s more or less. "You were teleported to a place, there are two paths, one on the right and the other on the left, at the beginning of each of these paths there is a person, each talking about their paths and talking about why their path is the best of than the other and why you should follow their path. And then you must make a choice of which path to follow " But MC does not agree with either side, and will not wait there to see which side gives her the best benefit as many would do, she goes there and moves on, where there is no path, where there is no one, because she doesn't want to be on anyone's side, she wants to make her own opinions, and not follow what a group is saying. 

Oh, and one of the philosophies she follows is of yin and yang, which says something like "There is good and there is evil, both need each other to exist, there is no good without evil, and no there is evil without good, and that nothing can be completely good or evil, since, however small, there is evil in good, and there is good in evil. "

Everyone is insecure about something. It’s kinda fascinating how even though all of humanity is exactly the same (in terms of our struggles and insecurities, we don’t vary) we still judge others for having them. Confidence is seen as a virtue and the most attainable goal. Society profits off of your insecurities tho so be aware of what they are and don’t let yourself be scammed.

It was only the first day of official college for Blue, and it was not going well. She’d been secretly relieved when she learned that it was tradition for the older Foxes to walk the freshmen to classes. Campus was big, the buildings were weird, and she hated asking for help, so hopefully with her teammates’ help she wouldn’t get lost.

Her hope was in vain.

“I’m pretty sure we are at least in the right building,” Dan said.

“Then why are these doors all labeled with thousands instead of hundreds?” Blue demanded. “We need room 255, not 2250!” They’d been having this argument for about 10 minutes now and had still not found the room despite lots of wandering around. Blue strode back down the hall purposefully, noting the changing tile patterns below her feet. Why did half the building have purple tile? It made no sense.

Dan gave up and waved at a person who clearly knew where they were going. “Excuse me! Can you help us find-”

“Room 255 is down the hall, take a right at the end.” The girl pointed back the direction Blue had come from. “Everyone misses it. It doesn’t even look like there’s a hallway over there, does it?”

“Not really, no,” Blue said. “This building is a mess. What even is up with the numbers?”

The girl laughed. “This is actually two buildings smashed into one. See where the tiles change from gross to less gross?” She gestured behind them. “When they expanded the building they gave it a whole new name but also kept the old one.”

“Business majors,” Dan spat. The girl laughed again and shrugged. “Thank you!” They went around the corner and, as promised, found a hallway they had somehow missed, with a big sign for 255. “This is your stop, Blue.”

“I’m glad I insisted on being 20 minutes early,” Blue replied. “Who is walking me next?”

“Allison. See ya!” Dan ducked out, and Blue took a seat in the giant lecture hall.

Allison appeared shortly after the class ended, dolled to the nines as usual but - for once - not wearing heels. Blue gave her feet an exaggerated surprised look. “Sneakers are fashionable too,” Allison said indignantly. “And I am not walking you to the engineering building in heels. We have 10 minutes to go half a mile, and then we have to navigate the maze that is that hellhole of a building.”

She wasn’t exaggerating, either. Her next class was on the farthest corner of campus, and the lower level where her class was located was even more confusing than the business building had been. At least Allison seemed to know where she was going. She led the way down some stairs and through a maze of corridors until Blue was completely turned around, but they arrived at the correct classroom on time. 

“Aaron will be here to walk you back to Fox Tower,” Allison said. “Good luck with your class! 

Blue took a seat and pulled out her knitting needles, glaring at anyone who came close enough to stare at her. It was going to be a long day.

Blue flopped dramatically onto the bean bag at Henry’s feet. “I can’t believe it’s only Tuesday,” she groaned. “If this is what college is actually like, I should never have wished for it.”

Henry smirked. “Practices getting to you?”

“I’m used to practice. It's the early mornings that are killing me! And the classes.” She threw a pencil at the wall. “I’m surrounded by idiots.”

Katelyn laughed softly from her desk. “That sounds par for the course,” she agreed. “But if you’re going to complain, can you go elsewhere, please? I have a boatload of homework.”

“But it’s only Tuesday!” Blue was aghast.

“Junior and pre-med. Get out.”

“Is that any way to treat your new best friend?” Henry asked with obviously fake dismay. “You wound me!”

Blue laughed. “I’ll get this rascal out of your hair.” She reached out a hand so Henry could help her to her feet.

“Please.”

“See you at practice tomorrow!” he called as they left the dorm. “Thanks for the cookies!” To Blue he whispered, “run.”

They booked it down the hall as Katelyn shouted after them. “You better not have eaten my cookies you little -” They slammed the door behind them, cutting off what seemed to be an impressive stream of curse words. Blue raised an eyebrow; Katelyn could apparently give Ronan a run for his money.

“I didn’t actually eat her cookies,” Henry confided as they descended the stairs, footsteps echoing. “She’s just really fun to prank.”

Blue rolled her eyes. “You’ve known her for all of a week and a half. How does she rank pranks when I don’t?”

Henry gave her a wide-eyed, innocent look. “I prefer to keep my fingers.” She laughed. “Also, it’s a Vixen tradition to haze the newbies with harmless pranks, but no good deed goes unpunished in my book.”

“Ah. The Exy team doesn’t really have anything like that.”

“The Exy team doesn’t know the meaning of harmless.”

“A fair point,” Blue conceded. She opened the door to her floor and pulled out her keys to open her dorm door. “Speaking of the Exy team, are you looking forward to the game on Friday?” She nodded hello to Renee and Nicky, who were having their Tuesday Bible-study session at the desks, and flopped onto the love seat. Henry chirped a hello to them as well before flopping across Blue’s lap dramatically.

“I really am,” he said, deliberately ignoring Renee’s disapproving look when he put his feet up on the armrest. “I just wish I knew the routines better. A week and a half is really not enough time to learn everything, even if one week was an intense boot camp.

“A week surrounded by pretty women in short skirts sounds like a dream,” Nicky chimed in. “Not that I could relate.”

“I could,” Renee said with a snort.

Henry laughed. “I can’t.”

“I knew it!” Nicky shouted. “Allison is going to have to pay up!”

Henry raised an eyebrow. “I see I’ve been subjected to the famous Fox bets.”

“Famous??” Nicky squeaked.

“In certain circles,” Henry replied with a smirk, nodding his head towards Blue. “What was the bet, exactly?”

“Gay or straight.”

“Well you all lose.”

“What?” Nicky almost screamed. “Dang it. I thought I had it in the bag.”

“Sorry not sorry,” Henry said with a salute. “I’m aro/ace.”

“Or Henrysexual, as he likes to call it,” Blue said dryly.

“And what does that mean, exactly?”

“That he’s not interested in anyone either sexually or romantically,” Renee answered. “They’re both the A in LGBTQA.” Nicky gave her a bewildered look and Renee sighed. “You really should look into our history more, Nicky.”

“You’re right as always, Renee,” he said. “Seems like a shame though.”

“Why you little-” Blue started to reach for her knife.

“And on that note I’m out of here!” Nicky yelped, scrambling to his feet. “I’ll look it up tonight!” He slammed the door behind him. Blue and Henry looked at each other and laughed.

“Sorry, Renee,” Blue said contritely. “I didn’t mean to ruin your Bible time.”

Renee shrugged. “He’s going to need to learn to control his mouth at some point.” She smiled with perfect sweetness. “Better you threaten him than me.”

Henry gave her an appraising look. “You do knives too, I think Blue said?”

“Did. Did knives. I try to use other weapons now.” She held up her Bible. “I’ve thwacked a boy with one of these and I can do it again.”

Blue wasn’t fond of having people babysitting her, but she had to admit it helped her learn a lot about campus as a whole. Allison and Nicky knew all the gossip, and how to get in with the best professors. Dan knew all of the school traditions and kept her from doing “unlucky” things like walking under the clock tower. Aaron knew all of the best study spots, and Neil had escape routes for any given situation. And Andrew?

Andrew had just introduced her to the best smoothie she’d ever had.

They were in the gym - the student one, not the athlete one - and Blue had had no idea there was a smoothie booth here, let alone one that accepted her food card. Andrew had shown up in Aaron’s place after her Environmental Science class and marched her over here without a word. He’d ordered them two chocolate and peanut butter smoothies (with protein booster) and a third mango strawberry one and marched them over to a table, still not even truly acknowledging her presence. And tasting her smoothie, Blue didn’t even care.

Then she realized he had paid for the smoothie. She stared him down across the table, hazel eyes meeting hers. She set her cup down with a small thump. “What do you want.”

He appraised her for a moment before nodding and sipping more smoothie. “I want to know how Ronan got that damn spider into our dorm.”

Blue snorted. “Prank war or not, sometimes a spider is just a spider.”

“It was the size of a dinner plate.”

“Point.” She sighed. “I helped him sneak it into Kevin’s bag when he was talking history with Gansey,” she admitted.

Andrew huffed. “Kevin has no survival instincts.”

Blue laughed. “Not off the court, he doesn’t.”

Neil appeared out of nowhere, as he was wont to do, and took a seat next to Andrew, who slid the mango smoothie over to him. “Thanks, Drew,” he said with a soft smile, and his eyes lit up when he took a sip. “It’s my favorite.”

“As you said.”

“Like 6 months ago!” Andrew raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, yeah, eidetic memory. How are you finding campus, Blue?”

“Too orange and with badly designed buildings,” she replied, “but at least the smoothies are good.” Andrew’s lip twitched, she was sure of it. “What is Aaron up to today? Normally he walks me back to the Tower around now.”

“His classes are different on Wednesdays,” Neil answered. Andrew gave him a look. “You’re not the only one with everyone’s schedule memorized.”

“I know why I know them,” Andrew drawled, “but why do you?”

Neil shifted nervously in his seat. “In case something happens and I need to find everyone.”

“Something as in a zombie apocalypse?” Blue asked, purposefully derailing the conversation. It worked. Andrew launched into a spiel about saving his family, and Neil argued for the benefits of rescuing all the Foxes until Andrew gave in. Blue sipped her Knockoff Reese’s smoothie, her own nickname (much better than the official one), and watched them. It was rare that Andrew talked in front of others, even to Neil, but she always enjoyed seeing this side of him. They weren’t friends, exactly, but they had an understanding after the whole lake incident. These two had seen the supernatural and hadn’t run away. That was kind of nice. They were assholes, yeah, but so were all of her Raven boys.

She was pulled out of her thoughts by a question from Andrew. “Sargent sews. What do we need to keep an apocalypse survival village clothed?”

Blue grinned, and jumped right in.

Blue took a deep breath and leaned forward, pressing her forehead against the cool metal of the lockers. Behind her, Allison and Renee were chatting and Dan was reviewing the notes on their opponents, the Badgers, one last time. Their first game was going to start in 45 minutes and Blue was terrified. Not that she’d ever willingly admit it.

She took another deep breath and straightened up, turning around. “Ready?” Dan asked. Blue nodded, and they all headed over to the team lounge where the boys were already waiting. Blue sat down on Gansey’s lap, ignoring the conversation about the Badgers that he was having with Neil, and put her feet up on Ronan’s lap. He pushed them off and she put them back. He left them that time, apparently defeated for now.

“Now that you’re all here, it’s pep talk time,” Wymack boomed. The chatter immediately silenced. “Here’s the thing, kids. We had a close game with these guys last year, and no doubt they’ve improved. You guys are the reigning champions and they will be coming for your throats. But we are not the same team we were last year.” He stared them each down in turn. “This year, we will work together. This year, we will fight as a team. Do you understand, Lynch?” Ronan sneered, but Wymack continued like he’d responded affirmatively. “This year, they won’t even know what hit them. Are you ready?”

Henry loved being part of the cheerleading squad. He was in the best seats, decked out in orange, encouraged to scream at the top of his lungs. He got to chant and run and flip and show off, and watch his friends play. None of his friends had been in the starting lineup, which was unsurprising, but it gave him a chance to see some of his heroes up close. He’d been rooting for the Foxes since they’d started to turn around last year, and it was fun to analyze each player’s style. It was also fun to see how his friends ranked among them.

Kevin Day was always the best. He was known for his precision: impossible angles, trick shots, balls moving just fast enough to squeeze through and not a hair more effort. His opponents knew what kind of tricks he would pull, and yet they still couldn’t stop him.

Neil was the fastest player in the entire NCAA, and was probably faster than all the professional players as well. And he was good. He’d come a long way in the last year, going from a rookie to better than average, and adding his speed into that - he was an unstoppable force.

Then, fifteen minutes before the end of the first half, Blue went on the field. Henry had watched her games at the end of last year, after they’d become friends, and he knew her style (as well as anyone could). She was strong. She was accurate in her shots. But Blue’s strength? It was that she was unpredictable.

With most strikers on the field, Henry could learn within a game or two how each player would move in almost any scenario. How they would block, how they would dodge around. With Blue, it was hard to say. She switched up her game on purpose but also by instinct, unwilling to let herself get boxed into a way of playing, a way of life. It made her difficult to face, according to Gansey, because she never acted like any other players on the field. When you expected her to strike, she dodged. When you expected a dodge, she hit you head-on. She’d duck around and through and could not be stopped.

And so it was today. Blue ducked around a ginormous linebacker and feinted for the lower left corner, a logical place to shoot based on the placement of the goalie. The goalie anticipated that shot and moved to block it. Blue scored in the upper middle part of the goal right as the buzzer for the half rang out.

None of his friends were on the field long, due to their status as newbies, but they all played well. Adam got a chance in the first half, and Gansey took one in the second. Ronan’s time in the goal coincided with Blue’s time on the field. He let in one goal, but blocked several more than that, and Henry was very proud of his friends.

The game ended 6-4, Foxes favor, and Henry cheered with the rest of the Vixens.

The team was in the parking lot, talking about the game and the plans for a party that evening, when suddenly a short blue blur ran through and tackled Ronan. Renee watched in alarm before realizing that it was a child- a girl? - in a white shirt, baggy overalls, and a flat cap. “Kerah! Kerah!” the girl shrieked, and Ronan laughed as he picked her up and gave her a big hug.

“Opal! What are you doing here?” he asked.

Just then a tall, handsome boy in a gray suit ran up to them, panting. “There you are,” he wheezed. He straightened up when he saw Ronan and gave him a nod. “Good game.”

“Oh fuck off, Declan, it’s not like you’ve ever liked Exy.”

Declan shrugged. “It got you into college, didn’t it?”

“Be nice!” The girl said to Declan without letting go of Ronan. “Kerah! I got to see you play! It was so fun!”

“It’s good to see you too, squirt,” Ronan said with a soft smile that looked out of place on him.

“Can I stay with you?? I don’t want to go home!”

Declan looked pained. “Please take her,” he said. “I don’t know if I can survive another car ride.”

Ronan squatted down to the girl’s level. “Just for the weekend, then you have to go back to Aurora,” he said. She shrieked inhumanly but joyously and latched onto his neck. “And you have to keep your boots on.” She pouted. Ronan stood up and looked around at the Foxes, who were all staring at him.

“So, um, who is this?” Nicky asked.

“Opal,” Ronan replied.

Do you prefer today's trends/styles, or ones from the past? Both have awesome stuff, there’s no need to pick. I’m really into the mom jeans of the 90s, but I also like the yellow trend that’s been going on recently.

Being too cold or too hot? I’d rather be shivering but be comforted with a thick blanket, than sweat bullets and have absolutely no way to cool myself down.

Uploading music to your iPod, or buying CDs? Depends. I used to buy the CDs of my favorite artists then just download the other music I’m not as passionate about.

I try to make my bed every couple of days, just so that the sheets don’t fall completely off the bed, LOL.

My favorite number is 10. It’s the date of my birth, ayyyyyy. 

3. What’s your job?: 

I work at my local elementary school as a paraeducator, which is a very fancy word for a teacher assistant. I work mostly with kindergarten students, and I work with them on their math and reading skills in small groups. I also monitor them at recess and lunch, and I send out the kindergarten bus students to their buses. 

It can be a very stressful job, but I work with an incredibly awesome staff (both professional and supporting). I also A D O R E my kiddos. Sometimes they try that adoration, but they are great kids who try their best every day.

I really liked Little Women, Jojo Rabbit, and 1917 this awards season. But other movies that I’ve been re-watching lately are Jurassic Park, You’ve Got Mail, The Birdcage, and The Sound of Music.

It depends on how complicated the puzzle is, LOL. My patience can get the better of me.

I will listen to practically anything tbh. If I vibe with it, I listen to it.
