THATS SO COOL THAT YOURE A DEVOTEE OF KHONSU OMG! Do you have any resources for me to learn about it because I’ve recently become one myself and I only know about that myth where Khonsu plays Senet but I wanna learn everything about him, how ppl used to worship him, any actual prayers people used to use to him yet it’s so difficult to find it all online and also finding ppl who worship him as well
hey!! yeah, i worship khonsu and thoth mainly, but i also worship nefertem, Min, hathor, and nuit :) learning how to play senet was a big part of worshipping khonsu for me. i use a pendulum to communicate with khonsu and move his pieces for him, so I can let him play his favorite game with someone. i also make moon pendants and I made an image of him to more easily worship.
hold on because i’m about to ramble a shit ton.
i like to be very traditional with my kemeticism because there’s the tendency to morph it into something more modern. i have an egyptian calendar, i believe it’s the one recovered in cairo, that allows me to track holy days to the best of our modern ability. on days of great favorability i go out on walks and bring flowers or stones or shells back as offerings, and then i make food offerings. it’s usually some sort of fruit, a bread or cracker, honey, figs, dates, and sometimes red wine or beer. i gift them dried blue lotus flowers. i play music and sing to the gods as well. this is all really up to the individual however.
in history there is little difference in the worship of different gods. sometimes the offerings are a little different, but in the case of khonsu, he is not specific enough of a God to have specialty offerings (i.e. specifically gold, specifically blue lotus, given to Ra and Nefertem consecutively) so you can generalize down to food, beer, incense, and crystals, as Egyptians did often offer things like lapis lazuli, gold, jasper, carnelian, obsidian––you can read more about egyptian crystals here. crystals would be your best bet at a really nice offering, as it would’ve been something precious to the egyptians and thus worthy to present. ancient egyptians essentially practiced their religion in every part of their day because thats simply how their society worked. the gods were real and could walk the earth at any time. so to worship, you carry amulets of a God or Goddesses’ protection––scarabs are common, but so are amulets of thoth, tawaret, amun, and more. so carrying around an amulet of khonsu––or at least his symbol of the moon crown––would be a good way to incorporate kemeticism and khonsu into your life.
prayers—like really original, egyptian prayers—can be hard to come by. a lot of people like to make up prayers but it’s anyone’s guess if they’re accurate. fortunately for you, i have a shit ton of books about egypt and i’m sure i could find something; at least a devotional passage in the Cannibal Hymn or the Book of the Dead (by the way, I suggest reading the Cannibal Hymn, it shows Khonsu as he was first conceived by the egyptians). if you can’t find it on the internet i’m happy to take pics of the book i have and send the pages to you. i can also keep an eye out for information regarding khonsu while i go through my stores of texts.
the fic im working on right now deals HEAVILY in the lore of Khonsu, including his different aspects and how they interacted with each other, their demeanors and their powers. i think you might enjoy that. otherwise, feel absolutely free to talk to me, i love discussing this kind of thing! i’ve done a fair amount of research into khonsu, especially khonsu pa-khered and khonsu pa-ir-sekher.
some basic stuff: khonsu is part of the theban triad in later New Kingdom era beliefs, as he is the son of Amun and Mut. Their collective cult center was in Thebes, hence the name. Represented mainly as a young man with a sidelock, wrapped in white linen and often bearing green skin. there are about four different aspects of Khonsu, I believe.
1. Khonsu Heseb-ahau, the decider of Life span
2. Khonsu pa-Khered, the child
3. Khensu pa-khart, the personification of a crescent moon’s light, highly associated with fertility, i.e. helping women to conceive and livestock to breed. he is also representative of fresh air.
4. Khonsu pa-ir-Sekher, the provider
I think it’s important to note that all these aspects of khonsu could interact with each other. Overall, however, his powers included the ability to heal and to bring fertility. Khonsu also holds power over all evil spirits, and in Egyptian beliefs, evil spirits are the perpetrator of earth-borne sickness, thus in order to heal one might call upon Khonsu to reign in his spirits. His symbols included the crescent moon (often seen worn on his head like a headdress), the full moon, the falcon, and the crook, flail, and scepter (probably the Was scepter but I don’t remember right now). Like all people in ancient Egypt, his name is somewhat up to interpretation due to the absence of vowels in the Egyptian ‘alphabet’, so there are a variety of ways to pronounce his name, including Khons, Chons, and Khensu.
Tumblr media
This is his name in hieroglyphs! You can technically leave out the man at the end because that sign is just a denominative, but people usually leave it in.
His association with Thoth is, I think, what mainly brings him to light when people study ancient Egyptian mythology. Both Khonsu and Thoth are considered Gods of moon, time, and magic, and this is because Thoth absorbed many of the traits previously ascribed to Khonsu. Originally, Thoth was only the inventor of language, and during this time I liken Thoth to the vizier Imhotep. Sharing traits happens a lot in ancient mythology because of how societies move on and through time, forgetting certain gods as others step into the limelight and take over characteristics previously owned by the forgotten god. Still, khonsu and thoth are considered close companions, and play senet a fair amount together. They both have power over the moon and over the progress of time. fortunately for Khonsu he was still a prominent God, which can be rare when traits are suddenly shared between two similar Gods. he was worshipped from at least the old kingdom up until the roman occupation.
Getting back to the topic of worship; it’s hard to tell what’s accurate and what’s entirely bullshit because it’s not hard to slap a bunch of fancy-sounding words together and post them on the internet, pretending you translated some document or happen to know a prayer. despite that, it’s not sin to use these prayers. they are still words, and words are what the ancient egyptians used as well. it’s not for me, personally, but it’s not bad. it’s almost impossible to get prayers transliterated into what it would sound like for the ancient Egyptians due to the issues with their alphabet and the missing vowels.
Alright. Here’s some reliable sources that go more into depth on Khonsu and Egypt than what I feel comfortable reciting from mostly memory.
https://ancientegyptonline.co.uk/khonsu/
http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/godkhonsu.htm
For general information concerning history and Egypt, as well as festivals (which I encourage you to learn about, they’re very fun) this website is fantastic: https://www.worldhistory.org/
Starting page 7 of this will show you some of the constellations of ancient Egypt if you’re interested in other sky Gods and symbols: http://sino-platonic.org/complete/spp253_ancient_egyptian_constellations.pdf
This dictionary of Egyptian words is both incredibly useful, easy to use, and one of the more accurate recordings of the language: https://seshkemet.weebly.com/dictionary.html you can maybe use this to build your own prayers as it holds the translation and transliteration.
If you want to recite poetry in your ceremonies or dedications I have a SHIT TON of egyptian poetry. this here isn’t the best example of poetry but it is accurate and easy to find: http://jewishchristianlit.com/Texts/ANEmrg/pBeatty.html otherwise ask me, I can send you my favorites or a topic you’re looking specifically for
Part of worshipping gods in Egypt is knowing how they were worshipped and how magic was seen by the people of Egypt. magic wasn’t a myth; it was a guaranteed thing, it was the explanation for their science, and this article goes over it well: https://www.worldhistory.org/article/1019/magic-in-ancient-egypt/
Again I suggest reading the Cannibal Hymn and again, if you can’t find it, I can totally send it to you if you DM me. I also have lots of translated texts that you might find interesting.
If you haven’t read some of the more basic religious texts, or looked at the images in the Book of the Dead, this pdf has a lot of good info, especially regarding the different sects of dead souls
For online sources regarding hieroglyphic translations of texts concerning Khonsu, this is your best bet. I like to use these to inscribe my images of Khonsu with ‘prayers’. i’m pretty sure you can access it for free, the only issue you might have is you have to create a free account to access it but that’s all
Page 113 of this text deals specifically with Khonsu pa-Khered if you want to be specific in your worship and study.
If you want to learn about the temple of Khonsu, this paper describes it pretty well.
This website gives some good excerpts from the Pyramid Texts.
That’s pretty much all I can offer you in terms of easy-access, free information that you don’t have to buy a buttload of books for.
Edit: I looked through some of my books and found a prayer you might like. it’s an incense prayer so it’s a good place to start with ceremonies and offerings. it’s from the pyramid utterance 269
The fire is laid, the fire shines;
The incense is laid on the fire, the incense shines.
Your perfume comes to me, O Incense,
May my perfume come to you, O Incense,
Your perfume comes to me, you gods;
May my perfume come to you, you gods.
May I be with you, you gods;
May you be with me, you gods.
May I live with you, you gods;
May you live with me, you gods.
I love you, you gods;
May you love me, you gods.
This prayer generally goes along with burning incense and an offering of milk.
A common aspect of ancient literature in the east and in africa is the repetition of phrases, so that’s why this prayer is structured the way it is. I was, however, unable to find an accurate transliteration of this excerpt. Otherwise I had little luck trying to find transliterated passages relating to Khonsu.

Names of Some Kawaii (and Plushy) Characters
Tumblr media
The stores around here where I live are with beautiful display cases full of toys and stuffed animals that attract the attention of not only the little ones, but also adults. There are bears, unicorns, giraffes, monkeys, dogs in every size! I like stuffed animals (and real ones) since I was little, I prefer to get a teddy than flowers, but here in my city they don't sell as many kawaii characters as the ones we occasionally find on the internet; it was through it that I learned the names of some cute characters and I will share them with you to help you search for cute things to buy or decorate whatever you want, including your PC or cellphone with images and illustrations.
I don't know the story of all of them literally (nor would it fit in a single post), so let's go in geral, by companies or illustrators okay? And when it comes to cuteness-producing companies, the Japanese have a good share. The creations I find the cutest are those of Amuse, Sanrio and San-X.
Tumblr media
Amuse is responsible for the most kawaii stuffed animals (in my opinion); they are sold in Japan, but it seems to me that there are authorized resellers on the web for sales in other countries. They are the creators of the Alpacasso brand!
Tumblr media
Alpacasso alpacas are of various sizes, in very cute colors, even alpacas kids, which would be 'puppies' with round little bodies.
Tumblr media
They also make the rabbit Pote Usa Loppy, who loves strawberries and carrots, the Coroham Coron, a hamster who loves sunflower seed and the Fuwa-Mofu Pometan, a cotton candy-soft Pomeranian lulu, loves to play ball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Coroham and Pometan are super kawaii! There are images of hamster backpacks and doggy size G plushies over the internet :3
Tumblr media
And as if that weren't enough, there are still the round rabbits Usa Dama Chan, who apparently doesn't have paws, but they do, and the hooded rabbit Usazukin...
Tumblr media
There is also a pika (or Ochotona, according to the wikipedia, I didn't know this mammal), a rabbit friend who loves plush blueberries called Kyun to Nakiusagi, Munchkin, a short-legged kitten, but who can stand, only with two little feet on the floor: 3, and Hitsuji no wooly a sheep who enjoys sweets, fashion and dancing, among many others that you can meet on the official Amuse website.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is also a shop on the website, I don't know if they ship to Brazil; on the internet you can find different images looking for the characters' names on sites like weheartit.com and pinterest.com, I've seen online stores that seem to be good options, like otakumode.com and tofucute.com, but I don't shop online, therefore, I cannot give an opinion.
Another company well known for the cuteness of its characters is San-x, from the bear Rilakkuma, and starting with him...
Tumblr media
Rilakkuma is a very relaxed teddy bear who has as his friend another white bear named Korilakkuma, a yellow bird called Kiiroitori and there is a new teddy bear among them, I think it's like a Rilakkuma chibi, maybe it's another character, I'm not sure, but if it's called Chairoy Bear, just like Rilakkuma, but with more fur on his chest and the bear head symbol drawn on his feet and on the butt.
Tumblr media
There are people who mistake Rilakkuma for this other bear:
Tumblr media
But he's not Rilakkuma, he's Brown, Line's teddy. They are different characters.
Another famous group from San-X are Sumikko Gurashi, who are not just animals, but other little creatures that like to live in the corners. They are round and are always huddled, shy. Once in a while you can find illustrations of other characters in Sumikko style, like a round rilakkuma.
Tumblr media
At san-x there are kittens too; what I met recently is called Funwari Necolon, the size of a perfume bottle! The tail is soft and it is literally a little ball of hair nya!
Tumblr media
I loved it :3 Check out his twitter to see how much cuteness!
Tumblr media
And there are dogs like Homekoro, a pomeranian and Berry puppy, a dog that loves strawberries, even has a whale, Jinbesan!
Tumblr media
But the most popular characters in our country are Sanrio, the creator of Hello Kitty that everyone knows, has known or will meet at some point in life, right?
Tumblr media
She has a pet kitten named Charmmy Kitty, who in turn has a pet hamster, Sugar. Charmmy Kitty was a gift from her father and boyfriend Daniel; she loves things that shine and has the key to Hello’s jewelry box around her neck. Hello Kitty has a twin sister with a yellow bow called Mimmy and a mother who makes the best apple pies in her opinion.
Tumblr media
Another cute kitten is Mewkledreamy, very kawaii, chatty, likes dreams and love stories.
Tumblr media
In the rabbits section, Sanrio presented us with several, such as My Melody, a rabbit that wears a pink hood that is friendly to a pink sheep, My Sweet Piano. If you search for mobile themes for these two, you will find a lot of cuteness, especially for android :3
Tumblr media
Sugar Bunnies Shirousa and Kurousa love to make sweets, and Sugar Minuet, a variation in cute colors of Sugar Bunnies, are two rabbits who love to dance.
Tumblr media
Still has the sweet Wish me mell, very white with colorful pompom, delicate and polite, and Bonbon Ribbon, a pink bunny who enjoys fashion.
Tumblr media
Pompompurin and Cinnamoroll puppies are very famous. Cinnamon (or xinamon) is my favorite Sanrio.
Tumblr media
He came from the clouds and works in a cafe, I think his name ( rolo de canela in Portuguese) has to do with the curled tail like one of those sweet cinnamon rolls, it reminds me of a rocambole too (I'm hungry now!), and his ears are so long that they make him fly; His friends also have names in this style, like Milk, Mocha, Chiffon, Cappuccino, Espresso (accompaniment to cinnamon roll, right? lol)
Tumblr media
There is a variation of these characters called Cinnamon Angels, and Poron, all pink with a blue bow on the head!!!
Pompompurin, on the other hand, is a golden retriever that has a funny asterisk in belly :D He loves pudding, he's fun and looks like he hides his owners' shoes.
Tumblr media
And mixing all the animals we have the Jewelpets, with magical powers and precious stones; my favorite is Diana who carries a diamond around her neck and has powers of feminine charm xD Meet each one on the Sanrio website.
Tumblr media
I did not forget other characters more known here, but the post is pretty big ne? ;w;
I cannot give each reader and friend who personally accompanies me with a teddy bear, so that was a way to thank you for your affection, sending cute images that i collected on the internet! See you soon ;3

17 Ways To Predict The Future That You Can Do For FREE (#8 Will Have You Shook - And I Should Know, I Totally Saw It Via Augury)
It was 8.57pm on a Wednesday night. I was sitting on my bed, waiting for the microwave to let me know my lasagne is ready, and that’s when I first heard it.
Silence.
Day 2 of UK lockdown was nearly over, but the tidal wave of boredom - and the consequential existential crises - was set to hit the nation at any moment if it hadn’t already.
Amazon orders of ‘watercolour kits for beginners’ had surged, YouTube workouts I’m pretty sure were filmed in some murderer’s basement were clogging up YouTube's trending page, and returning to the dark side of Duolingo was filling the days of my fellow countrymen.
Whether it’s not being able to work, losing your job, or being sick with the virus yourself, people across the globe are on the hunt for new skills, hobbies, and how-to’s on filling the 24 hours.
Tumblr media
The thing is, your next hobby (the one you will inevitably ditch once you realise you have the artistic ability of a dented tin of tuna) will probably require items you can’t scavenge in the home you’re currently self-isolating in.
And God forbid the skill you decide to take up includes making self-expressive sculptures about your childhood with toilet paper.
Why not take up a skill that doesn’t require paint pots you will inevitably spill on the carpet and lie to your landlord about? Why not occupy your time with the occult, instead?
Of course - you should become a fortune-teller!
With 44 methods of predicting the future available and most of them requiring, well, nothing - or, at the very least, a handful of beans and maybe the odd animal sacrifice - trying and testing methods of seeing need not use up your time, nor the scraps left in your cupboards.
Tumblr media
And once you’ve fulfilled your destiny as a prophet, why not let us know when this pandemic will be over?
But before you’ve even learnt to read palms, and before you’ve even considered how Mercury’s retrograde will affect the heaviness of your next period, you should probably find out what the methods are, and which ones you can do with half a tin of bins and the protein powder from last year when Love Island shamed you into thinking you weren’t good enough.
(Bro, you totally are.)
That’s why I’ve decided to guide you in the next step your spiritual journey. Or at least keep you busy for the next 79 minutes. And given the current state of the world, the latter is far more precious.
But before I launch into the 17 different ways you can trace out your future in self-isolation, I thought we should actually know what fortune tellers are.
A Brief And Totally Ironic History Of Predicting The Future
*pushes glasses up nose*
Tumblr media
Fortune telling is defined as the principle of predicting the future events of someone’s life. There are many different types of the practice and the people that predict the future, from those that practice divination (which involves rituals to see into the future), to fortune telling (which takes place in a less formal setting and is far more symbol based).
The latter found its feet in the Renaissance era, and was firmly planted in Romani culture, explaining why gypsy fortune tellers are the most prevalent image representing the art. In fact, it was ol’ Nostradamus that made his name in this period.
Michel de Nostrodame was a typical 16th century Frenchman.
Only he spent his time working in apothecaries, predicting the future, and writing down what he claimed would happen. In total, he made 6338 prophecies and 11 annual calendars, and it’s one of these prophecies which has become rather relevant to 2020.
That is, it predicts the end of the world. And it’s kind of coming true.
Tumblr media
Nevertheless, the once forbidden art of predicting the future has been founded in our cultures since ancient times.
Astrology was the OG, setting the trend that would spark the uncountable practices currently in practice. Those that could predict the future - whether from their own abilities as prophets, or using systems as clairvoyants - had a strong political stance as prominent advisors.
Obviously, the role has lost respect over the years.
However, the practice faced their greatest amount of opposition during the Enlightenment era as reason began to prevail, ditching superstition. Once it had become, like, so uncool, it became cool again in the 19th century alongside the rise of Spiritualism - AKA dead people can talk to us, k - which tied the capabilities of mediums with those that could see the future.
This was the root of popular culture’s current approach to today’s soothsayers, a relationship sealed with the New Age culture of the 1960s.
Getting your palm read, or having a flick through some tarot cards became a tradable commodity during this decade. And an odd 30 years later, the term ‘psychic’ officially hit the scene.
Tumblr media
Psychics were people that utilised ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) to identify extra sensory information we normal mortals can’t quite detect. Often, this involves telepathy or clairvoyance to assist in their predictive skills.
So - are you ready to join the ranks?
*Throws sticks onto floor to find answer*
Here Are The 17 Ways You Can Predict The Future Even If You’re In Lockdow
Aeromancy
Divination that uses the weather to predict the future
Go outside. Look up. Look for symbols in the sky.
Boom - you’ve just practiced one of the oldest forms of divination to man.
In less stuttered terms, aeromancy is the practice of seeing symbols in the weather that point you to what’s happening in your life right now, and what will happen in the future. Most of these practices rely on this symbolism, and thus have a few explanations for certain types of weather-based events.
Not only is this one of the simplest - and least costly - ways to predict when the lockdown will end, it also makes you a bad bitch. And that’s because it was one of the forbidden arts in the Renaissance period.
Once you’ve discovered your inner rebel when getting your daily quota of vitamin D, you might wish to specialise in one of the sub-types of this art: you can investigate storms, peruse wind patterns, stare at the stars or keep it simple with clouds.
Astrology
Divination by the movements of celestial bodies.
Okay - this one’s gonna take some reading.
Finding out your horoscope these days is as easy as mispelling ‘Gemini’ in google and hoping you don’t end up on a website dodgier than that kebab you consumed 3 days ago.
(Just hasn’t quite settled in my stomach, yet.)
Tumblr media
Astrology is a pseudoscience - that is, it mixes sciences and the supernatural - which studies how the position of the celestial bodies impact events here on Earth. It might be mocked within an inch of its life, but it's figured prominently throughout history.
Going back to 2BC, this has designed the basis of our calendars and our seasons. Historically, cultures have assigned vital importance to astronomical events of note. And now you can too!
Astrology these days focuses merely on horoscopes as astrologers believed those born around the same time of the year when the planets were aligned in a similar way had a lot in common and thus had certain personalities. From there, individual predictions created in the forms of charts were brought to the table.
Finding your chart might be a simple feat thanks to the internet, but interpreting it? Whole ‘nother ball game.
And that’s what you’re going to do for the next 3 hours!
Numerology
Divination via numbers
As with all methods of divination, numerology has a variety of sub-types held to its name - but the basic definition is the practice of assigning spiritual value to numbers. This typically focuses on numerical patterns.
One of the more basic methods of seeing the future, numerology is actually more anchored in our culture than you’d expect. Pythagoras - yeah, that guy that forced you to spend two sevenths of your teenage years obsessed with triangles - even followed its basic principle, claiming numbers were a universal language offered by god(s) as a “confirmation of truth”.
Triangles, man.
Tumblr media
This started with the Ancient Egyptians, who believed life was made up of cycles of numbers, and that harnessing those cycles was how you could discover your key to success. Their fundamental claim was that each individual number has a personality, for example, the number 7 is the thinker or the searcher of truth.
By deducing key facts of your life with numerology, such as your date of birth, and what you should do on the different days of the months, navigating your future via numbers is your next hobby.
Augury
Divination via the pattern of bird flight
As I write this post, I am following the UK government’s guidance to only go outside once a day. You’d think that this would restrict access to this form of fortune-telling, but if you can get to a window, you’re ready to forecast major world events.
Birds have always featured prominently in cultures, with many belief systems claiming the animals are messengers from the gods and can even transcend the borders of heaven. This means if you want to try your hand at augury, you will have to consult ancient texts which outline the patterns you need to be looking for.
And there’s a lot of patterns to look for.
You could be investigating how fast they fly, you could be interpreting the movement of their flight, and you could even be considering the way birds eat if you chuck a handful of grain on the floor.
Evidently, this form of divination is best practiced at Brighton when you’ve got a bag of chips in one hand, and an unknown meat-like substance in the other.
Automatic Writing
Divination via writing
This one might be the easiest to do - but it's the most difficult to do right.
Pen? Check. Paper? Check. Access to the inner thoughts of spirits surrounding you? You’ll need all three to correctly practice this form of clairvoyance.
Many believe that otherworldly beings essentially write through you in this process. So, clear your mind, take a deep breath, and let your hand be guided.
Bibliomancy
Divination using books
Another simple form of fortune telling, this requires you opening a book to a random page, reading the paragraph you feel drawn to, and interpreting the message the gods are clearing letting you in on.
Bibles are the most popular book used for this practice, but any ol’ book will do.
Ceromancy and Capnomancy
Divination using candles
If, like me, you have a minor addiction to candles, this is the perfect pastime to enjoy the pleasant experience of burning a candle and predicting your future.
Tumblr media
The former requires you asking the, uh, candle a question, pouring melted wax from a candle into the water and interpreting the shapes of the cooled wax to find your answer.
The latter involves the interpretation of the smoke of the candle. As this is measured in the same way as interpreting the clouds, you can follow the same principles of aeromancy here, too.
Palmistry
Divination via hands
One of the most famous forms of telling the future, palmistry follows several simple principles and practices. You can read hand shape, you can investigate line reading… And the options don’t stop there.
From more general observations of your own, to more specific divination, all it requires is a hand, and a guide to reading that hand.
Scrying
Divination using mirrors or crystal balls
It’s the official mascot of telling the future - but you don’t need a crystal ball to master this art. In fact, using a mirror to open a portal to another realm and contacting the spirits is far more common.
It’s also far more dangerous due to the potential for negative spirits to cross the barrier into our realm. In fact, that’s how Bloody Mary really made her name.
You can read more about her story here.
Favomancy
Divination using beans or peas
Are you a selfish prat? Were you one of those people that panic bought everything in my local Waitrose, and left shit all for that old guy who just staggered past me?
A - fuck you. And B - this is your new hobby!
All you really need to tell the future is a can of beans, and an open mind. With its origins in the Middle East, by dropping a handful of beans or peas and interpreting how they fell, you can see how the next few weeks might just pan out.
It might follow a complex set of rules, and it might follow very precise principles, but nevertheless, it can help point out the favourable and unfavourable signs for your future.
Haruspicy
Divination via liver dissection
This is by far one of the simplest methods of fortune telling - trust me.
First, you sacrifice an animal to a deity of your choice. Second, you reach into its corpse, and rip out its liver with your bare hands.
Then, you sever the liver into several parts based on deities of your choice. From there, you’d investigate it for signs from the gods based on size, shape, colour, and texture.
Signs interpreted, messages understood, future predicted.
*drops mic into small intestine*
Iching
Divination via yarrow stalks and Chinese coins
This might be the most complicated method of divination on this list, and this might cost the most as you try to get yarrow sticks by next day delivery, but thanks to websites offering to carry out the process for you virtually, finding your future might actually be the most effortless.
Harness the power of ancient Chinese divination via the I Ching (AKA The Book Of Changes) and the principle of cleromancy, the production of random numbers to determine messages from the divine.
This ancient Chinese manual is based on 8 symbolic trigrams and 64 hexagrams which are interpreted in terms of yin and yang...
Okay. I’ll be honest.
I don’t really know what’s going on.
There’s some vegetables, there’s some loose change involved, there’s more yin and yang references than the first day of Coachella… All I know is you find a website that does all that for you, and you ask it a question.
Tumblr media
Moleosophy
Divination using the moles on your body
Live in an urban area? More chance of seeing a fox hump a Chicken Cottage box than the Big Dipper?
Then why not try your hand at reading the moles on your skin?
This system of divination assigns significance to your moles, allowing you to interpret the marks on your body as warning you of your future. And warning is the right word.
Got a mole on your throat? You’ve more chance of being beheaded than Damien’s family members in The Omen. Freckle on your nether-regions? You’re a god-forsaken whore.
There’s many more meanings left to be unlocked - and hopefully not all of them are negative attributes about yourself or your death.
Oneiromancy
Divination of dreams
Ever wondered what that dream you had, you know, the one with Gabriella from High School Musical saying all the old people should just die from Covid-19, cause, like, it’s inevitable, actually meant?
Well now you can!
With more online guides and overpriced books offering to analyse and interpret your dreams for you, accessing your subconscious and predicting future events has never been easier. But you will need to remember what actually happened in your dreams.
Fuck.
Cartomancy
Divination using cards
Couldn’t get Prime delivery on your tarot cards? Have a knack for solitaire?
Pull out your pack of playing cards, and use ‘em to guide your future. There are many rules you need to follow, but it’s a good way to practice your divination skills before you move onto other oracle based cards.
It even follows the similar principle of tarot, with each card having a different meaning, e.g. the 8 and Hearts represents an unexpected gift or a visit.
And if you give up, just play a game of Clock Patience!
Scapulimancy
Divination via bones
Still got the carcass of that animal you slaughtered in the name of your chosen god/goddess?
Good.
Reach into the body, and pull out the shoulder blade bones - aka the scapulae. Examine for messages and markings from your chosen god/goddess, and jot down the future events you predict on your calendar.
Then, check out your council website to see which day they take out the sacrificial goat bin.
Tasseomancy
Divination using tea leaves
It’s the pop culture representative for the occult, making its name in the Harry Potter films and leaving us all with the vile experience of coughing up tea leaves into your morning.
It might be one of the most accessible forms of fortune telling - especially as it is primarily based on symbolism and your own interpretation of the messages your favoured god has left in the dregs of your hot drink - but tea leaves must be used for this practice.
Tea from tea bags won’t have the same effect.

The Doctor with a Thousand Faces
Tumblr media
Art by Paul Hanley
When I say the words "Fourteenth Doctor," what springs to mind? Perhaps you may say "Peter Capaldi," if you want to get super technical. Or perhaps, you may be thinking about Jodie Whittaker’s future successor. And to that point, you may already have someone in mind. Whoever he, or she, or they may be, there are key traits that you tend to expect. The Doctor may look and dress different, but they must also possess a certain "Doctoryness," about them.
Doctor Who is unique. Very few live-action shows have the ability to change their lead actor while maintaining the same character. Sure, they did it on "Bewtiched," but it never became part of the narrative. You could argue that Twin Peaks achieves this with characters like Laura Palmer returning in the form of Madeline Ferguson and Carrie Page. Or even more recently, American Gods with Media and New Media. But what about before that? What about a time before foreign Gods came to America, or certain Time Lords came to British television? What if the undying hero is part of our fabric as a species?
Within its title, Doctor Who has dared its viewers to ponder the question- "Who is this mysterious stranger?" I would venture to say the answer lies somewhere within the culture of the era. Our concept for who the Doctor is, and what they represent has changed throughout the years. As we change as a culture, our expectations of the hero change. The new gods of our pop culture mythology are still fallible, and therefore, subject to change.
It's a fairly popular fan theory that every one of the Doctors is a response to his or her predecessor. And there are even real-world moments when you can see the showrunners course-correcting a bit of bad writing. The Sixth Doctor was so loathed within the higher ranks at the BBC, that the Seventh Doctor is clearly a conscious response. Where Six was brash, Seven was quiet. While Mel was a screamer, Ace was fierce and brooding. On an even deeper level, because Doctor Who is so unique, you can also apply these course corrections narratively.
Tumblr media
The Doctor's incarnations act more as avatars of an overarching hero of great power and intelligence. It would seem as though every regeneration is an opportunity for the Doctor, and us as an audience to ponder the identity of the Doctor. Christianity has God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all aspects of the same one God. What does each of them imply about the other? Is each Doctor informed by an overarching consciousness? Is every aspect made in its image, or is the Doctor the sum of their parts? After all, the Doctor is still alive. We are actively watching the Doctor’s lifetime, which as of yet, is still ongoing.
In the Hindu pantheon, we get gods like Vishnu and Shiva who also take up corporeal form as avatars on earth. Much like the Doctor, these avatars are usually direct responses to their predecessor. Take Vishnu, for example. Vishnu incarnates in several different eras, usually as a response to some great imbalance in the world. But often times, their personalities explore a different aspect of Vishnu overall. As the avatar Rama, he lived so lawfully that, depending on which version of the Ramayana you prefer, cost him the love of his life. In his next incarnation as Krishna, he corrects this by being more anarchic, more bohemian, and much more free-loving. On the other hand, he was also more authoritative, as compared to Rama's gentler nature.
Tumblr media
You could compare these two characterisations to the Third and Fourth Doctors. The Third Doctor literally worked with the military while the Fourth Doctor flew in the face of the Brigadier, hanging his feet out of the Jeep like a petulant teenager. While both Doctors have the same authoritarian streak, they're usually found in opposite directions. The Third Doctor's officiousness melts away into warmth, while the Fourth Doctor's charm burns away with his fury. All the while, each of them demands we as viewers continue to ponder the nature of our terrifying friend.
We’ll spend the entirety of the show pondering that nature. Because, as I stated before, the Doctor’s life is ongoing. Much like Vishnu sustaining the universe, Shiva’s dance has not yet ended, Brahma has not yet awakened. The dance of life continues. We can live in the past or the future, but we can never escape the present. Each Doctor stares down the barrel of their own demise. Even we as an audience see each successive Doctor as temporary. Their days are numbered, and no matter how many times you change your hair, your wardrobe, your gender, we all fear the reaper. So we focus on the now, when we’re alive. We focus on our own unique challenges.
Every son of God, it would seem, has their own cross to bear. Each hero meets a greater burden that speaks to the culture of a time. As Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is yoked with the incumbrance of sexism, so too was Colin Baker yoked with censorship. Conservative backlash has often times landed Doctor Who in the hot seat. "The Trial of a Time Lord," is a story arc that directly addressed the real-world accusations of the show's violence. In "Rosa," the Doctor goes toe-to-toe with the embodiment of a nasty internet troll in the form of Krasko.
It's funny then, to view how this response to popular culture has changed throughout the years. Ben and Polly were practically Bible thumpers compared to the real world culture of hippies that were capturing the hearts and minds of people everywhere in the '60s. In their own way, they're a couple of squares that fly in the face of what was actually "cool," at the time. Even this goes against the mercurial trickster that was the First Doctor, who bit his thumb at your fuddy-duddy schoolmaster in the form of Ian Chesterton. Doctor Who of the '80s seemed like more of a "2000 AD" comic book world, which makes sense when you consider who was Prime Minister at the time.
Tumblr media
Not only is the Doctor's personality explored throughout these incarnations, but the symbolism surrounding the Doctor as well. The name "Doctor," itself has been explored to some depth within the show. What does being a doctor mean to the Doctor? A doctor is a person who can bring us hope. They can also bring us dreadful news. Some of us don't like seeing the doctor because death seems to follow them around. The Doctor also carries a tool as opposed to a weapon. We're given the impression that the Doctor is a person who wants to fix things. Even psychic paper is a symbol for the Doctor's anarchic streak. "Badges? Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!" Psychic paper plays to that devilish side in all of us that wants backstage access and lies on our résumé.  The symbolism of the TARDIS has also changed over the years. Modern perceptions of the police may taint the image of a police box in the same way modern perceptions of America may taint the image of Captain America. However, I would like to think that both Cap and the Doctor represent the potential of what these things could become. The Doctor is what a good cop should be.
Tumblr media
People say Doctor Who shouldn't be political, but from a historical standpoint, that's impossible. It's always had the same character, fighting for freedom from unjust capitalism, to totalitarianism, to unimaginable callousness. The Doctor has never asked what a person's sexuality was before saving their life because the Doctor is an actual hero. The Doctor doesn't have to agree with your lifestyle to agree that life is precious. What kind of Doctor would they be if they went around allowing someone to die? That's no kind of Doctor at all. This is why Doctors sometimes need people around to kick them in the ass when they're being total kumquats.
Whether we call them assistants, or companions, or friends, the Doctor's fellow travellers remain cyphers for the audience, though some more than others. While on the other hand, it would seem as though the Doctor represents something deeper, something more conceptual. Like a doctrine passed from leader to leader. "Never cowardly, never cruel." Keeping humans around to keep the leader in check. We the viewer have this abstraction of our greater self, playing companion to the strangeness that is this existence. We love these stories because they’re our history, our world, and our trajectory. Past, present, and future. They're embedded in our religions and in our myths. So we keep the tradition of storytelling alive so that we might never forget these elements within ourselves. And to remember that no matter how bad things get, to appreciate being alive now.
Hello friends! For those of you who may be wondering, yes I have posted this article already. However, I wasn't completely happy with it, so I retooled it a bit. Sometimes you gotta do that! I've been up to rather a lot since we last talked. I went to see Andrew Cartmell speak in Leeds a few weeks ago, and that was great fun. He had so many wonderful insights into his era. We're still working on K9, but things have been a bit slow because of my pal's schedule. I've still got plans to write an Eighth Doctor article, but I decided to put it off for the time being. I'd like to go a little deeper into his audios and books now that I've finished his comics. I've also got articles planned for Doctor Who in video games, Doctor Who canon, and I might start doing profiles for villains I love.Speaking of profiles, I may also start interviewing some of my favourite Whovians. I know so many avid fans of the show with their own wonderful perspectives, that I wanted to incorporate them somehow! On the Twin Peaks front, I was thinking about sharing a series of comics I've been working on. Each comic explores a different theme in the show. I've also been toying with the idea of writing about other shows. Speaking of which, who all watched Good Omens? I loved it. What did you think?

Dissipating Resentments
Tumblr media
To say that Sebastian was pissed was an understatement. He was so mad, he was furious at Chris and that stupid Glamour interviewer. It was a stupid mono tone interview that Chris had given about his future potential wife.
Sebastian was going through social media, reading tweets and seeing himself become a meme, those never seem to end. His twitter notified about Chris. He had muted all his notification except the ones involving Chris Evans. He had every right to know what the internet was telling about his boyfriend.
He kept calling Chris but the latter didn't seem to answer any of his texts or voice mails and that only aggravated Sebastian more.
Chris was glad that his interviews were over; he couldn't take that shit anymore. He was tired from all the stupid questions he had to answer. There were some good ones, talking about his family cheers him up automatically but almost all the questions irrespective of what interview, they seem to focus on his love life.
Both Chris and Sebastian decided to be quite about their relationship; Chris was not even out to his mom. He was sure that she wouldn't object, and probably she already knows but he still kept it as a secret.
Instead of going to his home, he decided to take a detour and visit Sebastian; they were going to meet the next morning anyways.
Now that Chris was outside Sebastian's hotel room, he felt stupid. He wasn't even sure whether he would be in. His mobile had been buzzing nonstop for the past hour but he figured it'll be some fans tagging him in stuff.
He knocked the once, then twice. He heard shuffling from inside and a string of cuss words as the door opened, Chris chuckled at the silliness of his boyfriend. He loved how Sebastian was always smiling and just being around him would lift your spirits. Words cannot do justice of how lucky Chris felt being with him. When Sebastian smiles it's like...Holy Shit! What is this magic!? And Chris made it his goal to make him smile all the time
"Now what do they want?" Sebastian muttered to himself dragging his lazy ass out of the bed. He stubbed his little toe against the table. He let out a series of curse words opening the door.
There stood Chris, rather a very happy looking Chris and that pissed Sebastian off. He slammed the door as soon as he opened and sat down on the table next to the door grabbing his stubbed toe rubbing it with his palm hoping it wouldn't hurt so much.
"Sebastian? Are you ok? Open the door baby..." Chris kept asking what was wrong and why wasn't he opening the door. Sebastian finally gave in to his pleads and opened the door.
Chris sported a worried look on his face but Sebastian paid no mind to it. He opened the door and walked inside without even looking at his him, Chris was beyond confused.
"I get that you're mad...but I need to know why" Chris followed him inside closing the door behind him and locking it.
"I understand completely that you're not out yet... but you could've just lied in the interview"
"What are you talking about?"
"The Glamour interview that you did..." Sebastian said his voice so quite. He felt stupid that he was mad at Chris for such a petty thing. Chris did what he had to do to maintain his straight image but that kinda hurt Sebastian too.
In all honesty Chris didn't even remember when this interview happened let alone remember what he said.
"I've done so much shows these last few weeks I don't remember this baby...Can we just let this go?"
"Let it go as in just sweep it under the rug and forget all about it? I can't just let this go Chris!" Sebastian snapped at him, the annoyance clear in his voice.
Chris all though was tired he held onto his patience and let Sebastian have his little melt down.
"What did I say?" Chris took a hold of the younger one's shoulder and gave it a little shake.
"'I want a woman who wants to be a mom' you want kids!? And you also said that you'll take care of her!" He yelled. "What about me then? Just throw me to the side when your precious woman comes along?" He sat down on the bed taking deep breaths trying to calm down.
"You're pissed off because of that?"
"Oh there's more!" Sebastian scoffed. Chris should've just apologised but he had to ask.
"You apparently have a thing for Boston woman? Well news flash Chris, I'm neither a woman nor am I from Boston! And Tom Brady who the hell is that?" Sebastian yelled at him.
"He's a quarterback for theNew England Patriots team." Chris held back his laughter, jealous Sebastian amused him more than it should.
"And you like women who insult you? What?"
"No I said I like women who poke fun at me...a girl that I can have fun with" Chris said in a defensive voice.
Sebastian sighed dejectedly and fell back on the bed. Chris sat next to him, he reached out to hold his lover's hand but Sebastian pulled back his hand rubbing his temples.
"Look I know this is hard..." Chris wanted to tell him that no matter what happens he's never going to leave him.
"Do you?" Sebastian snapped cutting him off. "I'm sorry" He quickly added but Chris just waved it off.
"It's just... you keep lying to everyone about us...sometimes I think all of this is not real" Sebastian rubbed his face tiredly. Chris pinched Sebastian's thighs and the latter hissed in pain.
"Real enough for you?" Chris teased him chuckling but Sebastian kept his mean grumpy face and Chris shut his mouth.
"I'm sorry Sebby...I don't need a woman. I need only you" Chris said rubbing the sore spot where he had pinched him.
"It was all for the camera you of all people should know that. How do you think I feel when I see you kissing men on screen?"
"Not happy I guess" Sebastian mumbled
"And I plan on telling my mom about you...I'm sure she already knows that I'm gay" Chris said
"She knows" Sebastian nodded like he knew that already
"I didn't tell her...did you?" He asked
"Somehow moms tend to know all these stuff. My mom knew I was gay even before I realised that I was"
"You're still mad?" Chris asked hoping that he wasn't.
"I was never mad...not at you" Sebastian answered honestly
"Sebastian Stan...jealous is a very hot colour on you" Chris mused stroking his beard
"Christopher Robert Evans...cocky definitely doesn't suit you" Sebastian shot back leaning up pecking Chris' cheek to which he just scoffed brushing off the playful insult.
"Whatever" He rolled his eyes.
They ordered room service eating their stomach full talking about how their day went, obviously avoiding their little fall out just under an hour ago.
It was almost midnight neither of them showing any signs of sleep, they sat side by side watching the local channel, but it was just background noise to them as they kept talking
"There's one more thing about the interview that caught my attention..." Sebastian said
"Oh God don't get mad again"
"No...It's about your tattoos. I wanna know what they mean. You said that they were too personal to discuss..."
"Did you memorise the whole thing?" Chris joked earning a smack on his arm from Sebastian.
"What does this one mean?" Sebastian asked Chris while tracing invisible patterns over his right bicep over the tattoo. Chris was sitting with his legs stretched in front of him and Sebastian on his right same as Chris.
"It means 'Family'. All I am today is for my family" Chris leaned down to face Sebastian capturing his lips, the latter blushed. He felt a warm feeling filling his chest. He was his family. Sebastian moaned when Chris bit his bottom lip and Chris slipped in his tongue fighting for dominance. Sebastian pulled away; his focus was on the tattoos on Chris and not making out.
Chris made a disapproving noise asking what was wrong, no words were needed the look on Chris' face said it all. Sebastian gave him a smile that assured Chris that nothing was wrong.
"What's this one?" Sebastian poked the tattoo which was above the Chinese symbol that meant 'Family'
"It says 'Loyalty'" Chris sighed knowing that he was not gonna get to kiss his boyfriend but instead talk about his tattoos.
"What about this one?" Sebastian sat on Chris' lap taking hold of his left bicep.
"That's my mom's star sign Taurus" He replied patiently.
"Who's Bar...Bards...Is that an 'E'?" Sebastian couldn't read the tattoo properly. It was in the upper right portion of his torso making it hard for Sebastian to read as Chris was sitting.
"Bardsley...It's for my friend Matt, he passed away in an accident" Chris said silently. It still was a fresh wound
"Best friend or was he more?" Sebastian asked trying not to sound jealous. He was very possessive of Chris.
"Just a friend Sebby" Chris grabbed his face placing a chaste kiss on his lips, Sebastian responding quickly.
"A damn good one I guess..." Sebastian bit his lips leaning down kissing Chris where the tattoo was.
"Yeah I miss him..."Chris thought out loud making Sebastian feel stupid about his petty jealousness for the second time that day. He looked up; Chris was smiling down at him amused by Sebastian's curiosity over such mundane things like his tattoos.
"Wipe that grin of your face Evans!" Sebastian warned him but slowly he started to smile too.
"You didn't ask about this one?" Chris took the younger one's hand and placing it over his collarbone. Sebastian read the writing, a look of knowing passing his face
"This is by Eckhart something isn't it? I forgot his full name" Sebastian asked Chris was genuinely surprised by Sebastian's question.
"Eckhart Tolle. How did you know?" Chris asked
"I used to read all these pretentious literacy books when I was young. Moving to a whole new country when you didn't know English wasn't a smooth ride. I was twelve and a lot chubby that time..." He wasn't exactly bullied but communicating with the other people was tough.
"When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself you lose yourself in the world..." Sebastian read it out loud.
"How come you don't have tattoos...you seem to be enjoying mine" Chris asked
"I'm not really that into tattoos...never was" He slid down from his lap getting out of bed as his phone rang, that was never good news. Chris made a noise of protest but Sebastian shushed him.
"Yeah sure I'll be there..."He cut the call mumbling goodbyes.
"Do you have to go?" Chris asked already knowing the answer.
"I'll be back in two hours I promise. They just want me for one scene. You know I can't help it Chris" He tried to reason with him but he knew he was gonna pay for this some other time.
"Two hours...that's all!"
"Thank you thank you so fucking much baby" Sebastian kissed him in the lips quickly leaving with his jacket.

!UPDATE: This post was worded poorly so I decided to reupload it with better wording + edited my theory after other informations were brought to my attention!
I found myself wondering lately about the character of Finn, because there was such little information about him and he appeared for such short time (and I’m thirsty for episode 3), so I tried to find out as much as I could through basic internet research. Please note that this is just a theory and don’t forget to check out the people who inspired me and I mentioned!
Also feel free to add to the theory, agree or disagree!
This might be a mess but bARE WITH ME:
TL;DR: Finn was abused by his alcoholic father which caused him to run away from home and as Sean, we will be able to discuss this with him. There might be a possibility that Finn and Cassidy are siblings, so she might have been abused too.
Also, Finn’s face tattoo indicates that he is a kind-hearted leader and has a friendly, generous personality but can be violent, if needed.
We know that Dontnod has been big on name references, giving a deeper meaning to main characters’ first names.
On the wiki it is noted that Finn’s name might originate from Huckleberry Finn. I thought this is a clever idea, so I rolled with it.
Huckleberry Finn is a boy who runs away from his abusive alcoholic father and later lives a vagabond lifestyle. The vagabond lifestyle is clearly a similarity between the two characters.
Dontnod mentioned in several interviews regarding The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit that it is an introduction to the themes and mechanics of Life is Strange 2. One of the main themes of Captain Spirit was already featured in Life is Strange 2: the loss of a parent. While another important theme hasn’t appeared before which is family abuse.
While in Captain Spirit we got to know that Charles has drinking problems and both verbally and physically abuses Chris, showing that Dontnod doesnt shy away from talking about such subject, in the second episode of Life is Strange 2 no one discusses directly Charles’ problems or that Chris is abused. It might be the fault of short screen time but it might be because Dontod didn’t want such theme to appear repetitive and cheap after using it twice.
And what did Chris do after experiencing abuse from his father in Captain Spirit? He ran away, out of the house.
Another clue is Finn’s dialogue at the christmas market. In his and Cassidy’s case, they didn’t have too much time to introduce themselves, so Dontnod needed to showcase a very brief summary of them in few minutes to get the players interested . They thought it was necessary for Finn to mention that [their group] went through a lot. And when he said it, he looked sad, lost in thought for a second. Probably because this is an important part of his arc.
Tumblr media
An amazing person I got to know on Discord, @mikeyisstrange (BIG SHOUTOUT TO HIM!!!) looked at the model of Cassidy and Finn, and while doing so, he discovered they have similar face structure, also the same height. This could mean they are siblings but I (and him) personally believe they are twins. If this is the case, Cassidy probbaly went through the abuse herself. Here is his post with the proof to this theory.
There is another subject I wanted to talk about: I’ve seen many people worrying that he might have an agressive behavior because of his face tattoo.
Tumblr media
Which isn’t the case, at all. I can only assume people confused those three triangles with three stars which do indicate an agressive behavior and murder committed.
Triangle tattoos in itselves have many meanings, it’s not so easy to figure out what one could mean. But episode 3 has a certain achievement called “The Dharma Bums” and its icon has a triangle. The Dharma Bums is a book written by Jack Kerouac (who is also mentioned by Brody on his blog!)  which has heavy Buddhist themes, the Dharma mentioned is a key concept in many Indian religions, including Buddhism and Hinduism.
Meanings of triangle tattoos what point upward:
– Solar
– Active
– Up
– Masculinity or male
– Father
We also need to note the number (3) of triangles he has, which means:  Force, Opening, Wisdom.
After sharing this theory on Reddit too, a nice redditor with username jostarjoe5 left a very useful comment:
“ Another insight that may or may not be useful here....
Force, Opening, Wisdom.
If we are going along with the Sun Symbolism then you are spot on about Wisdom which is one of the main characteristic of Surya-Dev (sun god) in Hinduism. Some other meaningful traits here are being Friendly and heavily worshipped so Finn is basically a leader if these guys have more members in their group. The son of sun-god 'Karna' is the most generous and charitable person to have ever lived in Hindu Mythology.
Now opening and force this could be related to Sun god in the sense that he is the eye of The Cosmic Form of Lord Krishna (link: is a cool video if you are interested to know about hindu mythology, in which Lord Krishna reveals his Vishwaroop/cosmic form to Arjun on the battlefield of Mahabharat enlightening him)
About the Triangle/Trikona, this symbol is also heavily associated with Lord Shiva which you might have missed, it is associated with spiritual enlightenment as well. (jump to number 26 in this link)
Edit: triangle is also sometimes associated with the Trimurti (trinity) that consists of the three main Hindu Gods Bhramma, Vishnu and Shiv (they combine to form the Universe, to understand the Universe which is also a path to attain enlightenment in both Buddhism and Hinduism......) “
Opening the second link, we are able to get more information on the meaning of triangle in Hinduism:
'Trikona,' the triangle, is a symbol of God Shiva which, like the Sivalinga, denotes His Absolute Being. It represents the element fire and portrays the process of spiritual ascent and liberation spoken of in scripture.
Meanings of fire as symbolism: Energy, Power, Passion, Action, Sexuality, Creativity, Authority, Consumption, The Untamed
Power, Action, Authority: could support the theory that he is a leader.
Sexuality: (shit can he be a love interest?? we don’t even know if he is 23 or just a hardcore 16-17 years old. Y’all know we ain’t shipping 16 and 20+ years olds in this household.)
The Untamed: supports the fact that he lives a vagabond lifestyle.
Lord Shiva is the Lord of Lords, the leader of Gods. Lord Shiva treats others equally, is a loving romantic partner, doesn’t tolerate injustice and evil (so much, he destroys evil), is kind-hearted and forgiving and despite being an important God he doesn’t live like a king nor he contains anything precious.

Logan square is apparently the "luxury location." it IS super nice, i went there on a pass when it first opened. The locker rooms are way bigger and have steamrooms and saunas. It has things that caters to working people (a wework space, for some reason?) which is i think how they justify making that one a "signature" membership, but i never use any of that stuff, so i don want to pay for it. That means about 28 percent of all calls that his company's customers got last year were phone spam. "If you extrapolate, there are likely billions of calls made by telemarketers. In my mind, the numbers are just staggering. You think I have an imaginary husband? Wow, that's an innovative way to dismiss a dissenting viewpoint! I'm sure he'll be amused to hear that a sock account stranger on the internet believes our decade together is all just a delusion. Unfortunately, even though his existence might be rhetorically inconvenient for you, he is indeed a real person who has just as much ownership over the Spanish language as you do. I, however, do not, and so I'm going to bow out of that portion of this conversation.. When the vampire came back to a once noble city in ashes, he could only find four bodies to bury. The devastation was so great. Nearly every precious item was destroyed. Vitamin K plays a vital role in blood clotting. Learn more at How Vitamin K Works. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which keeps the blood clean. The goal of the park is guest happiness and education. You use the "natural wonders" in the park to the fullest advantage by deciding the best trails and other activities that would enlighten the guests the most. Of course money would still be a management issue, as well as trail maintenance, and litter and bathroom cleanup. Miss Cornelia was mistaken. On the morning after the election Captain Jim dropped in at the little house to tell the news. So virulent is the microbe of party politics, even in a peaceable old man, that Captain Jim's cheeks were flushed and his eyes were flashing with all his old time fire.. There was an air about him, he felt a little off and his general aura scared the shit out of me. He started talking about how his cat committed suicide because of transcendental psychosis and how that could happen to anyone. THEN, despite not even knowing my name he thought he let me know he loved me and could tell we were destined to be together. And we seen A LOT. I made my husband watch it as a non fan of horror, and he thought it was "meh". Funny how people can have such different experiences. This liberty goes very far. Sometimes a portal, a faade, an entire church, presents a symbolical sense absolutely foreign to worship, or even hostile to the Church. In the thirteenth century, Guillaume de Paris, and Nicholas Flamel, in the fifteenth, wrote such seditious pages. The little guy I watch is a juice addict, but I got him hooked on water now too. He a 동두천출장마사지 little older though. I just told him it really good for his muscles and brain and it helps him grow big and strong. I practiced so many low stakes encounters by that point, engaging a stranger in conversation for a couple hours was pretty straightforward. (and it didn hurt that I had a solid hobby to talk about).EDIT: Volunteering is just one avenue: if service isn your thing, check out a local sports league, or church, or poker game. There are a lot of groups where you don have to charm anyone showing up and being polite is 100% of the battle.EDIT2: Since this is Reddit, I guess it 동두천출장마사지 needs to be said: DO NOT volunteer in hopes of a meet cute.

10 Ways to Search Google for Information That 96% of People Don’t Know About
Tumblr media
In our era of advanced technology and high-speed Internet connections, you can find information on virtually anything. In the space of just a few minutes, we can find recipes for the tastiest pie or learn all about the theory of wave-particle duality.
But more often than not, we have to sift through a vast body of knowledge to get the information we need, and this can take hours rather than minutes.
Below you will find a list of the most effective methods for searching Google to help you find the precious material you’re looking for in just a couple of clicks.
1. Either this or that
Sometimes we’re not sure that we’ve correctly remembered the information or the name we need to start our search. But this doesn’t have to be a problem! Simply put in a few potential variations of what you’re looking for, and separate them by typing the “|“ symbol. Instead of this symbol you can also use ”or." Then it’s easy enough to choose the result that makes the most sense.
Tumblr media
2. Searching using synonyms
Our language is rich in synonyms. Sometimes this can be very convenient when doing research online. If you need to find websites on a given subject rather than those that include a specific phrase, add the "~" symbol to your search.
For example, if you search for the term "healthy ~food" you’ll get results about the principles of healthy eating, cooking recipes, as well as healthy dining options.
Tumblr media
3. Searching within websites
Sometimes you read an interesting article on a website and find yourself subsequently wanting to share it with your friends or simply reread it. The easiest way to find the desired piece of information again is to search within the website. To do this, type the address of the site, then a key word or entire phrase from the article, and it should come up immediately.
Tumblr media
4. The power of the asterisk
When our cunning memory decides to prevent us from recalling that one key word, phrase, or number we need in order to find what we’re looking for, you can turn to the powerful "*" symbol. Just use this in the place of the word/phrase you can’t remember, and you should be able to find the results you’re looking for.
Tumblr media
5. When lots of words are missing
If it’s the lengthier half of the phrase you can’t remember rather than a single key word, try writing out the first and last words and putting “AROUND + (the approximate number of missing words)“ between them. For example, ”I wandered AROUND(4) cloud."
Tumblr media
6. Using a time frame
Sometimes we urgently need to acquaint ourselves with events that occurred during a certain period of time. To do so, you can add a time frame to your search query with the help of three dots between the dates. For example, if we want to find out about scientific discoveries during the 20th century, we can write:
Tumblr media
7. Searching for a title or URL
To help find the key words and name of an article, type “intitle:“ before the search term, without any spaces between them. In order to find the words from a URL, use ”inurl:".
Tumblr media
8. Finding similar websites
If you’ve found something you really like online and want to find similar websites, type in "related:" and then the address of the site, again without a space between them.
Tumblr media
9. Whole phrases
Framing the search term within quotation marks is the simplest and most effective way to find something specific and in the exact order you typed it in.
For example, if you type in the words I’m picking up good vibrations without quotation marks, the search engine will show the results where these words appear in any order on a website, as opposed to the specific order in which you typed them.
If, on the other hand, you type "I’m picking up good vibrations" within quotation marks, you’ll get only those results where these words appear only in the order you typed them in. This is a great way to find the lyrics to a song when you only know one line from it.
Tumblr media
10. Unimportant search words
To remove unimportant search words from your query, simply write a minus symbol before each one. For example, if you want to find a site about interesting books, but you aren’t looking to buy them, you can write the following:

falling in love at a coffee shop (asgore/reader)
Summary: “You meet one of your top-tier clients. Oh no, he’s cute.”
3k-Kofi Poll Results Drabble - Asgore/Reader, SOULmate AU: Humor, Fluff, & Romance (with just a dash of Angst™)
read it on ao3 / buy me a coffee
That guy had been staring at you for over ten minutes.
Not non-stop, of course, or else you’d have called the cops by now. But he kept glancing at you every so often, and you were starting to get nervous.
He was a big guy, a blonde Monster that reminded you of a minotaur. You didn’t feel any malicious intent rolling off him—not with that Hawaiian print shirt and khaki shorts combo, at least. Didn’t mean you felt any better about it, though. You just wanted some coffee, man.
Aside from that, you had much bigger things to worry about than the blooming possibility of a stalker. Like work, which you had in two hours. For a ten-hour shift. That you’d woken up an hour ago for. God, this sucked.
Work sucked. Life sucked. Everything sucked.
You took another swig of your cappuccino. Things sucked a little less.
It was still dark out, too, which meant that you were going to be stuck in your dead-end of a job for the better part of what was supposed to be a pretty nice day.
Maybe you could call in sick? Two hours seemed like a fine range of warning. You rubbed your temples, groaning into your arms. No, you couldn’t do that. You needed the money.
In that case.
You made it through three extra sugar packets to your already saccharine caffeinated slush of a drink, when a soft, baritone voice echoed from right behind you.
“Excuse me.”
The small shock caused you to jump, but thankfully, you caught your cup before it could tip. Which was more than just relieving, because it was scalding. Your “admirer” had the decency to look ashamed when you whirled around, fixing him with a death glare.
“Yeah?” Usually you weren’t so snippy, especially with strangers. But it was early, and you were tired.
“My apologies for disturbing you.” He began again, in a low, rumbling voice that made your palms feel sweaty. Turns out he was a lot bigger up close. This guy had to be, what? Six, seven-and-a-half feet? Maybe eight if you were pushing it. “But I couldn’t help but notice the symbol on your shirt. You work for D.T. Corp, correct?”
You glanced down, eyeing the tiny logo. It was like an abstract heart, almost square in shape, with a line running through the middle. Too avant-garde for your tastes, but at least it stuck out. The place had a nice reputation, so it wasn’t out of the ordinary that you got attention for it.
“Yeah, can I help you with something?” Your voice tipped more into customer-service mode instinctively, and you cringed. It was such an automatic response, you hated it.
The Minotaur…or whatever he was, gave you an awkward, shy smile. It was such a genuinely warm expression. Suddenly the room felt several degrees too warm for comfort.
“Ah, I am sorry to bother you. But I have important business to attend to at your workplace.”
Then it clicked. You knew you’d seen his face before. He was Asgore Dreemurr, the Ruler of the Monster Kingdom. Talk about your “TIFU” scenarios.
“I was expecting someone…taller.” You offered, giving him a small grin.
Asgore smiled back, the tension melting from his expression. “Ah, I get that often.”
The smile grew as you leaned back, patting the empty chair next to you. “If you’re in need of assistance, please, sit. I’ll be happy to help however I can, Your Highness.”
“Please, just Asgore is fine.” He waved a hand dismissively, settling onto the tiny booth-seat as best he could. It creaked under his weight. Jeez, he was big.
You coughed to clear your thoughts, taking another sip of your drink. “So, what can I help you with, Asgore?”
“Well, you see.” He reached around himself, pulling a small manila envelope. It was surprisingly crisp, and not at all wrinkled, despite being in what you assumed was his back pocket. “In this document I received, it stated that I would need a human witness with me to sign the procedural papers so that we could go ahead with the Reformation Plan.”
His smile dropped a bit at the edges, “However. The only human I am acquainted with would be our ambassador, a young child named Frisk. Given the circumstances, I’m afraid I could not ask them for their assistance. I was hoping that, possibly, I could ask a worker to find someone who’s available to take their place?”
You nodded sagely. Though you didn’t know much about this ambassador, you’d heard of them enough to know that your superiors were adamant that the proceedings take place in the presence of an adult committee. “Alright, so the meeting is…?”
He wrung his hands together. “In a week’s time.”
“And you need a volunteer witness to oversee a legal signing?”
Another nod. “Yes.”
“Understood.” Draining the rest of your coffee, you sighed. It was going to be a busy day. You hadn’t even clocked in yet and you were “on-the-job.” But there was no pussy-footing around this one, this guy was a big client. “Why don’t we meet at the administration building in, say…a few days, and we can speak to the front desk about finding an open appointment for one of our volunteers to assist you?”
It looked like you’d just offered him the world on a silver platter. “Oh, thank you! I would appreciate it.”
“No problem sir, we strive to offer our clients the best in customer service.” Your tone was steadily dropping into a “pre-trained” manner you’d grown very used to using over the phone. It was an unintentional instinct, but highly effective for the general position you had.
“That’s a relief to hear. I greatly appreciate your help!” When he smiled, the tips of two tiny fangs poked out from his upper lip. His eyes crinkled at the edges, one blue, one amber. Both sparkled in admiration. You hoped he didn’t catch you staring.
‘Get it together, agent.’
Like planned, you met up with Mr. Dreemurr at the end of the week. He was just as warm and friendly as when you’d first met him, though with an air of respectfulness that exuded from him like the floral scent he always carried. When it came to business, he seemed to take things seriously, which was both a great relief and a slight surprise to you.
It was his outfit that caught you off-guard the most. A long, royal purple robe encased his form from shoulder to feet, dragging ever-so-slightly on the floor. The shoulder-plates were thick and coated with ornate designs that put your Vera Bradley bag to shame.
He was big, bold, and bashful in a way that reminded you vaguely of Prince Adam from Beauty and the Beast. Considering you’d had a crush on said Prince from a very young age, you were beginning to regret lending your assistance to the royal. He was just too adorable for you to maintain a professional view, dammit.
His largeness just made things even tougher. It was difficult to keep a pleasant distance inside the terribly cramped elevators. It was obvious that he was trying to give you room, as much as he could, but you were still pressed into the fabric of his cape just enough that you could make out the flexing of muscles beneath. One of his hands sat on your shoulder, keeping you upright as he attempted to shift around the tiny space. He smelled so sweet and your entire body was flushed from head to toe with the heat of his body.
And the worst part? Asgore had no idea about the effect he had on you.
It was either that, or he was tormenting you for fun. You’d had a lot of clients who you were attracted to, physically, but you were quickly finding Mr. Dreemurr to be more charming than you’d ever expected.
The silence buzzed as you pressed against a wall, trying desperately to drown out the pounding of your heart with the dull hum of the elevator. Asgore shifted his weight, eyes glued to the far corner.
“So…again, I greatly appreciate your help. Genuinely. This has all been so…” He looked at a loss for words.
“Stressful?” You offered.
“I was going to say Tirritating, but that works too.” The monster chuckled gently. “Tiring and irritating.”
“Ah, I understand that.” You nodded solemnly. There were times when you often felt smad—your preferred phrase for anxious or melancholic scenarios. “So, um. How are things going? About the whole…erm. I mean. How are you adjusting to the Surface?”
His gaze softened considerably, smile hazy and faraway. “It’s changed quite a bit since the last time I was able to see it. Humans have evolved in so many ways. The technology today is amazing.”
Asgore turned to you, eyes shimmering with excitement. “My companions are teaching about how to use the Under—uh, Internet. So far I’ve become rather well-versed in may-mays.”
Did he mean memes? Ohmygod, he was precious.
“Oh?” You bit back the urge to giggle, “And how’s that going for you?”
Somehow, he perked up even more. “Wonderfully! I’ve recently become fond of a particular may-may that involves one person holding another’s flower before they descend into battle! Oh, and everything with the bees!”
“Bees?”
Asgore nodded. “My hobbies include gardening, so I’m quite used to having insects around. I’ve never been afraid of bees, oh, but Asriel was so afraid of them…!”
He stopped then. You watched the life drain from his movements, only understanding the shift when he glanced at you with sad, watery eyes. “Asriel was my son…he did not make it out of the Underground.”
“Oh…I’m sorry to hear that.” The horror of the statement sank into your gut, pummeling you with an unnecessary guilt. You had nothing to do with his son’s passing, but you still felt terrible. Like you’d somehow provoked the resurfacing of this memory.
A thick tension filled the small space, broken only by the soft hum of the elevator continuing to rise. Just as you moved to say something, trying to lift the mood, the elevator dinged. It came without warning, and you jumped a bit.
“Oh!” Asgore smiled, but his eyes were downcast. “We are here. I will let you lead the way.”
You clamped your lips shut, scurrying into the hall before you ultimately said something to make the situation worse. Stupid. You should have just kept your mouth shut. Kept your head down. It was against protocol to get friendly with clientele, and there was no doubt that the King of Monsterkind was not an exception. No matter how charming, or kind, or cute he was—
“Um, are you okay?” You jumped again. Asgore was leaning close to you as you walked, his large stride able to keep pace with your hurried steps with ease. He looked very concerned. “You look as if something is bothering you.”
“Oh—uh—no!” The words tumbled from your mouth gracelessly. “I’m just thinking about…work I’ll have to finish later today. Projects and all. Nothing huge.”
Ohmygod, shut up. You’re embarrassing yourself.
“Wowie! What branch of the corporation do you work for, if I may ask?”
“I’m a receptionist,” you replied bluntly. “It’s not a very prestigious job, but it has to be done. The company would fall apart without me.”
That was very unlikely, but you liked to think it anyway. It gave you a sense of self-importance and confidence in the workplace. Asgore nodded.
“I see! You seem very personable and friendly, I’m sure you’re very good at your job.”
Heat crawled up the back of your neck, a flush spreading across the bridge of your nose. “Oh, really? Thank you, sir, that means a lot to me.”
He gave you that sweet, simple smile again. Your heart pounded.
Dammit, dammit, dammit. You had to get out of this situation before you said something that could get you fired.
“So…why me?” Wait, that made no sense without context. “I mean, why me out of everyone else? I’m sure there are plenty of other highly qualified individuals who were available—we tend to pay legal officials to come in for most signings. Not that I’m not happy to help, of course.”
“Ah. Well,” Asgore began, a pink flush spreading across the ends of his ears. “I suppose you could say, out of convenience?”
“Oh.” Yeah that made sense. Kind of. “Well, I did offer, so you’ve got me there. I’m glad to be of service, though.”
“I’m glad to have your service!” He beamed. “Ah, but if I do recall, you seemed to recognize me, right? I suppose my reputation precedes me.”
You nodded. “It certainly does, Mr. Dreemurr. The entire corporation has been buzzing about your presence. We’re all very excited and lucky to have your patronage.”
“That’s wonderful to hear.” Asgore chuckled softly. “Though I do have to admit, I feel a bit guilty.”
“Guilty? About what?” Oh man, was this gonna be another sadness bomb? You braced yourself, just in case.
“Well, I was not entirely truthful about my reason for noticing you in the crowd.”
Oh. Well that was…slightly relieving. You cocked your head, trying to ignore the fluttery feeling in your stomach. “Now I’m a little worried. You haven’t been stalking me, have you?”
“Goodness, no!” He was quick to reply, looking shocked. “I just…well…that is to say…”
You stopped outside the office door. Asgore gently placed a paw over your shoulder. Your ears were pounding with the thrum of your heart.
“Have you ever heard of SOULmates?”
It felt like the world came to a sudden stop. Those words seemed to flip some switch inside you. Or maybe your feelings were finally bubbling to the surface. The words hung on the tip of your tongue, trembling and joyous.
“Y…Yes. But aren’t those just myths? N-Not to sound rude, of course.”
He just smiled. Your body fizzed with energy. “I suppose it would, after so long. But they are very…very real. And I happen to think…that we might be?”
“What would give you that idea?” It tumbled out before you could stop it, your natural curiosity overriding the urge to accept the idea blindly.
“Perhaps you cannot see it, but…here, let me try something.”
Then, standing outside the door to your boss’s office, King Asgore engaged you in battle.
Not literal battle, of course. But everything went dark, then…monochrome? The world looked like it was filled with a grid, the perfect setting for a battleground. Asgore stood before you, bathed in blacks and whites. Something small and spade-shaped floated in his outstretched palm.
Was that…his SOUL? You’d heard that Monsters had physical interpretations of SOULs, but you’d never seen one before. Looking closer, you saw that it wasn’t spade-shaped at all. It was an upside-down heart.
“Wow,” you whispered. Asgore’s eyes were filled with warmth as he gestured for you to look down.
You did.
It was an incredible sight.
Your SOUL, glowing like star in the dark of night. The color shimmered from top to bottom, almost gradient-like in tones. But obviously and unmistakably your most prominent trait.
“Is this…my SOUL?” You couldn’t help but ask, though you already knew the answer. SOUL research was common at D.T. Corp, but given your low ranking position, you’d never really been involved with any of it. The closest you’d gotten to seeing a human SOUL were the fake display models they kept out for visitors to look at.
But seeing the real thing was so much better.
“It’s so warm,” You murmured, cupping your hands beneath the tiny bouncing heart. As Asgore stepped forward to approach you, the glow brightened considerably. A shyness pooled through you when he chuckled.
“That glow is the sign. I suppose Monsters are more attuned to Magic than humans have been for centuries. Of course, this is an issue we’re trying to rectify. Though I suppose, we’ll have to take baby steps working our way up.”
You looked up at him, watching as his expression tensed. “That is to say…I was actually not going to tell you. Until later of course. But I felt, before we continued our business together, that it would be more beneficial to us both if you knew.”
All you could do was nod. It was against company policy to date clients, so it was good that he’d told you. And at the same time, your mind reeled.
Soulmates were a real thing. And you had a Soulmate! And he was a king! And also your client! And a Monster! The King of Monsters!!
Asgore reached out to steady you as you wobbled. “Ah, I knew this was too much. Please, put it out of your mind for now. We’ll have plenty of time to talk about things after business is taken care of. If you wish to, of course. If not, I would understand.”
His eyes flashed sadly, like he was expecting you to reject him. Without thinking, you blurted, “Of course!”
He looked up, then, a small expression of shock on his face. You scrambled to rectify your statement. “Of course, I would like to…discuss matters with you. After all, perhaps this situation could be beneficial to us both…in more ways than one?”
Mr. Dreemurr smiled. “I look forward to it. Ah. But for now, perhaps we shouldn’t keep them waiting. We’ve been standing out here for a while now.”
Ohmygod, you had, hadn’t you? It was an extremely lucky coincidence that hardly anyone was out in the hall, because you weren’t quite ready to accept the news yourself.
You had a soulmate.
You’d met your soulmate.
And he wanted your company.
He wanted you.
The realization sent a surge of child-like joy up your spine. For now, you could push future complications under the rug. Anything problematic that you had to deal with, you could certainly deal with later.
For now, you were happy.
The 3rd Ko-Fi Goal has been reached! I had a lot fun with this one, even if it is kind of open-ended. What would you do if you found out you were SOULmates with one of your company's biggest clients? I'd spontaneously combust on the spot.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
JINWOO
Q. Do you have a personal favorite on the full album EVERYD4Y?
MOVIE STAR. It might be because I know the production process behind the making of the song and the motive and meaning of the lyrics but the lyrics are very realistic to me. I’ve found that I really like that kind of realism. (laughs)
Q. Is there a song [from the album] that you want to recommend we listen during this current season?
I want to recommend EVERYDAY to listen to during the spring. All the side tracks are good though.
Q. You usually always don’t do much to your hair but your curls are really eye-catching. Whose idea was it?
While I was thinking about our concept, I found this hairstyle on the internet. I said, “I want to do this hair!” while showing the pictures I found to our staff members. They all liked it. Actually, I curled my hair for REALLY REALLY promotions too but no one remembers it. (laughs) I want to keep curling my hair until the end of this promotion. Since I’ve always kept my hair long, I also want to try cutting it short like a buzz cut.
Q. Following “REALLY REALLY”, the public has become more attuned to Jinwoo’s vocal color. Is there a song you want to specially remake while highlighting your vocals?
Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself”. I sang it very often when I practiced my singing [during my trainee period]. I recorded it multiple times too.
Q. You’re constantly working on your variety show skills by appearing on “Infinite Challenge” and “Live a Good Life”. You’re a vocalist in WINNER but how do you feel when you appear on variety shows alone?
As a singer, I think I’m given two options when I get to appear on variety shows. I can either forget the characteristics I show as a singer and immerse myself in the variety show or sustain my singer image on the show. I do the former. When I appear on variety show, I forget all about WINNER Kim Jinwoo’s appearance and I try to show me, the 100% human being Kim Jinwoo.
Q. Spending time as 100% human being Kim Jinwoo must also be precious to you then.
Yes, I’m a homebody so the time I stay at home amounts to quite a lot. But through variety shows, I’ve met many different people and I’ve become quite extroverted. I go outside to spend time with people more often now.
Q. Who is the artist you respect the most?
The late actress Choi Jin-shil. When I first watched the drama “My Rosy Life”, I became obsessed with it. Naturally, the acting she showed on that drama was really good too. That drama was the reason behind my wanting to officially start acting.
Q. Many people always talk about how you are a “warm-hearted person who cries easily”. On the other hand, Seungyoon, who trained with you [for the longest time] said that you are tenacious and that you’re a “genius through effort”. Are you usually very generous to others while being strict on yourself?
That’s right. I really hate to inconvenience others. This makes me be really strict on myself. Because of that, whenever I get angry or sad, instead of depending on others, I tend to repress my emotions often. There are pros and cons to this kind of personality.
Q. Who do you think is the winner of life?
Myself (laughs). When I look back from the time when I was a child who grew up in the countryside to the present where I’m a member of WINNER, there have been many changes. I’m going to continue to work hard to go forward.

MINO
Q. Your never letting go of your camera on set really impacted me.
I’m really into photography right now. I started it as a hobby last year but I’ve become more focused(/serious) about it recently. But because of that, I’ve bought too many cameras that it’s becoming a problem. I counted the number of cameras I’ve bought so far and they totaled up nine.
Q. Do you like collecting things?
Actually, I love things(/objects) in general. Four years ago, I really loved action figures so I collected them. At the time, our dorm was small so organizing them into a cramped space was really exhausting. Now, I like things/objects that are useful and I like efficient things that I can create with more than things I just look at.
Q. What songs do you enjoy listening to these days?
Hmm, I’ll show you my playlist. My all-time favorite song is Childish Gambino’s “Redbone”. I’ve been listening to it on repeat today, here on set. I also like Bachi(?)’s “Beautiful”.
Q. It feels like your rap style is constantly changing.
When I was in high school, I admired rappers with hard/rough voices. I liked rapping voices like DMX so I made my voice raspy and even shouted when I rapped. But you need a voice that has a wide spectrum rather than an aggressive voice when you need to be able to own all the songs in an album. I became aware of that and kept working hard. Once I changed my style, the spectrum of music I could rap to widened significantly. These days, I like to put in unique words into my lyrics. I’m working hard to be aware of the very thin line between childishness and uniqueness. I hope that even if I use a word that has ambiguous meanings, the way people understand it is straightforward. Including myself, I like it when lyrics are memorable to listeners.
Q. How do you react when you are suddenly inspired in your daily life?
I note it down no matter what, whether by writing it or drawing it. I really hate it when I forget something because I didn’t note it down. I usually go to sleep at late hours because I enjoy the time right before falling asleep. Out of all the hours on the clock, that’s when I get the most ideas. When I think while lying down, I get ideas even right before my REM sleep and I either write it down or end up falling asleep, without noting anything. Whenever I fall asleep, I always regret it when I wake up. I think, “Ah! I had something amazing yesterday!”
Q. When I looked at your Instagram, I could see that you’re good at drawing and that you even design goods. It seems that you have a talent in creating. Is there an Instagram account that inspires you while producing music or designing?
Ah, I don’t want to share this… (laughs) I enjoy looking at Matt Cunningham’s Instagram feed (@moon_patrol). He’s famous for making collage artworks. I really like his art.
Q. I just noticed that your phone case has blue roses on it. I also saw a blue rose on the goods you designed.
I’m obsessed with blue roses [these days]. [One time] I was spacing out while starting at them and I looked up the symbol behind blue roses. Because they were originally difficult to attain, blue roses meant “despair/hopelessness” but as it became easier to attain, the meaning changed to “hope” and “miracle”. I loved that so I changed my Instagram profile picture to a blue rose. From that time on, my fans have been gifting me with blue roses, which I am grateful for. One time, during a concert in Japan, I received a real flower [a blue rose] for the first time. I was so worried that it’ll wilt while we were coming back home that I was really careful even on the airplane.
Q. Just like last year, you had your comeback on April 4th. What do you think WINNER will be doing on April 4th, 2019?
Fascinatingly, I used to like the number 3. But we received so much love from our 4/4 comeback last year, and we included the number 4 in the album name (EVERYD4Y), so as the point of connection with the number 4 increases, it feels like 4 is now a symbolic number for WINNER. I even feel different whenever the hands of a clock point to 4. (laughs) Director Yang Hyunsuk also supports the concept with number 4 so wouldn’t there be a high possibility that you’ll be able to listen to new WINNER music on April 4th for at least a few years from now?
Tumblr media
SEUNGYOON
Q. Like the lyrics of EVERYDAY, what is something that feels “new every day” for you these days?
I’ve been taking photos. I like the texture of film cameras so I recently bought one. I take pictures of my members and of landscapes. I’m working on a photo album so I’m taking photos to put into it.
Q. I saw you taking photos of the flowers in the garden right outside. When you are publishing the photo album you’re working on?
It’ll most likely take some time since choosing which photos to include will take time. I’m thinking about including pieces of my writing with the photos. The writing will be about the inspiration I received from the photos. I’ll write the inspiration I got from the photo next to the photo and I’m going to leave blank spaces so people who get the photo album can fill it in themselves.
Q. Where do you usually get inspiration from?
I usually get inspirations from daydreams. With this album (EVERYD4Y), I got a lot of inspirations while thinking about our fans. Even just starting with the theme “fan” takes my thoughts to many different directions. For example, it can be about our attitude when it comes to working hard for our fans, something we receive from fans, or things we want to tell our fans. These are the strongest inspirations I received recently.
Q. Is there a song from this album where the recording process was very memorable?
MOVIE STAR, which I put the most effort and sincerity into when writing the lyrics. Most of the songs on this album can be enjoyed without much thought but we worked really hard to include our stories into MOVIE STAR. When my members wrote their rap lyrics, they tried to exert a lot of sincerity into each word so they kept revising their revisions. In the last part of the song, we all sing together and we sang it joyously as if we were out camping.
Q. WINNER has many hit songs but Kang Seungyoon’s “Instinctively” will always be remembered. Right now, as an experienced musician, is there a song you want to remake?
I feel grateful for “Instinctively” because it’s the first song that made it possible for the public to become familiar with my name. If I were to remake a song now, I think I’ll think about a lot of things before remaking it. When I covered “Instinctively”, I was young and inexperienced so I did it bravely, but now, as someone who lives as a singer who creates songs, the categories of worries I must go through while producing music has become more detailed.
Q. You are now in your mid-20s. Was there a recent moment when you truly felt like you were becoming an adult?
When I look at my past self, I think I wasn’t very understanding of myself and of others. I used to yell at myself, “Why is that all I can do? Why is this all I can do?” Now, I’m accepting of errors and mistakes and acknowledge my own. I also acknowledge that each person is different.
Q. Your members called you a “nagging mom” during their interviews. Which member does things that make you nag on them?
I don’t think I nagged on them that much recently… Actually, I nagged on Mino (laughs). When Mino becomes obsessed with something, he wants to buy all the equipments for that thing like an expert. Mino has been buying lots of cameras these days so I told him to stop buying them but he bought more (laughs).
Q. Who do you think is the winner of life?
Someone who achieves what they want to, someone who chases the happiness they define. In our case, many people liking WINNER’s music and remembering us for a long time, make us WINNERs, don’t you think?
Tumblr media
HOON
Q. Just like last year, you came back with your full album EVERYD4Y on April 4th. What do you think you’ll be doing on April 4th, 2019?
Releasing a new album on the same date would be nice but personally, I want to show a new side of WINNER in a different season with a different vibe. We’ve promoted during spring and summer so promoting during winter would be nice too. If this becomes reality, we’ll probably be working on music [on 4/4] or we might be traveling.
Q. Which song in the album do you have special affections for?
Track 11, the song RAINING. This song is actually my first self-composition. I was treasuring it and didn’t include it in our previous albums but our Japanese agency said they wanted to release it so it was first released through our Japanese album and then released in Korea through this full album. It’s a very meaningful song for me.
Q. From your rap lyrics to your clothes, it seems like you’re a person who has your own specific color. Even when you wore the uniform for the Pyeongchang Olympic Torch Relay, there was a cheerfulness specific to Lee Seunghoon (laughs)
Whatever I do, I put storytelling as my first priority. That’s why even when I pick out what to wear, instead of something tasteless, I tend to pick out clothes that are cheerful and witty while thinking about my image. Generally, I like wearing comfortable clothes but I always make sure to color-coordinate well. Instead of black and grey, I look for colors that are fun.
Q. What’s the story behind the lunch box you posted on SNS? You posted it with the hashtag “#ihatecarrots” but the lunchbox has 6 carrots drawn on it.
The lunchbox is a goods I designed for our Japanese fans. We were able to choose the items. My members chose hats and bags but I thought a lunchbox would be fun. When I chose the band to be green and the lunchbox to be orange, I thought of carrots. The drawing of the dog on the lunchbox is my pet dog, Haute, but he doesn’t hate carrots (laughs). I was trying to come up with something witty and came up with that. Both clothes and items become memorable when there are stories attached to them.
Q. I saw the puppy academy diary you posted on Haute’s Instagram account (@maetamongisdad). There were detailed comments but which comment made you most happy as Haute’s dad?
There were many comments about Haute having a good personality. Whenever I see those kinds of things, I feel proud and think, “I’ve raised him well” so I like them (laughs). I think that dog-training is similar to human education so I make sure to be strict and establish order of rank with Haute.
Q. I saw that you also posted pictures of tasty hamburgers you’ve eaten on SNS. Can you share the #1 tastiest hamburger?
I pick New York Shake Shack burger as #1. When we went to New York to film our music video (2014 S/S), my members were very jet-lagged and tired so I searched up hamburgers and went to Shake Shack by navigating on my phone map. Rather than thinking they’re the best brand, it was memorable how it was in another country and I went to the store without depending on anyone and ordered hamburgers with limited English. I remember I said, “The taste of America!” while eating it (laughs). If I was told to go eat the same hamburger right now, I don’t think it would taste the same. Like I said, stories are important (laughs).
Q. Is there an artist who inspired you quite recently?
Chef Choi Hyunsuk. I went to one of his restaurants recently. I like what he shows as an entertainer on TV but the moment I ate the dish he made, I strongly felt the feeling of eating a piece of artwork. Experiencing the tastes and looking at the stories, decorations, and assortments that were created with the course in mind made me think, “He’s a real artist.”

Entrevista en inglés / Interview in English:
You started <Ex Oriente Lux> when you were investigating the theoretical legacy of some French Occultists. Could you explain ‘the theoretical legacy of some French Occultists’?
I am deeply interested in everything that has to do with the unknown, understood as that which cannot be reached through the cognitive capacities, nor can it be domesticated, controlled or dominated. The French philosopher Simone Weil understands the supernatural as the love for the natural. Based on this, I suppose that this fascination I have for the supernatural, or what goes beyond the ordinary reality, stems from a deep love for nature and for reality itself, as it is. Likewise, through my work, I try to question the ‘mandatory reality’ or what belongs to the consensus reality, what is imposed, pre-established and assumed. As a result, I have always been interested in alternative narratives that defy rational logic.
France, and specifically Paris, is an authentic Masonic labyrinth that hides, behind its architecture and urban organization, a lot of knowledge linked to the occult and esoteric sciences. This is to say, all that unofficial knowledge that has accompanied Western history, although had remain in the shadows. France has been the place of confluence of many thinkers who have been located outside mainstream thinking. Thus, instigated by these motivations, I applied for an artist’s residency at the Cité des Arts de Paris, not only to visit libraries or museums, where I could inform myself about these subjects that interest me greatly but also to walk its streets to be impregned of this hidden wisdom that conceives the existence of issues that challenge the Western hegemonic logic.
Particurlarly, I was interested in studying the controversial figure of the French occultist Alexandre Saint-Yves d'Alveydre (1842 - 1909) and his theories about "Agartha", a secret underground kingdom established at the beginning of the Kali Yuga (Iron Age), according to the Vedic tradition in the 3200 B.C, approximately. This place is more advanced technologically and spiritually than our world and the system of government is what he calls the “Synarchy”. According to him, when our world will adopt the Synarchy system, Agartha will be revealed to us. Saint-Yves also mastered the art of releasing his astral body, and like this, he could visit Agartha by himself.
There are several previous versions of Agartha, or about a similar place, like Pauwels and Bergier version, Ernest Renan or the French freethinker, Louis Jacolliot (1837 - 1890) who created the Agartha myth. There is also an obvious resemblance to the novel by Bulwer Lytton “The Coming Race” (1871) or to “Ghostland, or Researches into the Mysteries of Occultism” (1876) published under the auspices of Emma Hardinge Britten, medium and founding member of the Theosophical Society. As well, the concept of a secret kingdom where wise people live and work existed since the eighteenth century within the Freemasonry of the Strict Observance, with what they call "Unknown Superiors".
These theories about the existence of Agartha supported by Saint-Yves d'Alveydre are related with the ideas affirming the existence of a hole at the North Pole and the hollow Earth hypothesis, fervently defended, among others, by John Cleves Symmes (1780-1829). They are also linked with topics from popular cultures, such as lost races, conspiracy theories, the Holy Grail, UFOs, the Apocalypse and others. As Ekkehard Hieronimus advised: "What is happening in the lower layers of society is certainly much more powerful and effective than what happens in intellectual circles".
I referred to your previous interview to know about <Ex Oriente Lux> It would be great if you explain more details and easier about <Ex Oriente Lux>
As you already know, this project started during an artist residency in Paris. I went there to study in-depth about some authors related to Esoteric and Hermetic Sciences, but also to be closer to the French Occultism tradition that reverberates everywhere in this city. Once there, nevertheless, I found myself totally overwhelmed by the complexity of this matter and, as its name already advises, by its hermeticism and secrecy. But as with every project I do, my first purposes end up always being modified as the reality itself brings new events that I need to adapt to.
For all mentioned above, “Ex oriente lux” is still open, it conforms the first part of an unfinished project. The title refers to the Latin phrase “Ex oriente lux, ex occidente dux” (light comes from the East, power from the West) alluding to the meaning of travelling to the East as a symbolic ascension to the light and wisdom source. The East as a symbol of the occult and otherworldly.
Thus, this first approach to this endless subject is through the most basic and well-known principle of the hermetic sciences -"as above, so below"- collected in the Emerald Tablet by Hermes Trismegistus. This means that as it is “outside” (for instance, the Cosmos) it is “inside” (the Earth). Therefore, there is a correspondence between what we see, and what we can’t see; what is far away and what is close; and so on. As a result of these ideas, the first part of this work is an installation composed by pictures of different types of stones and marbles taken at the Louvre Museum in Paris (a venue with powerful masonic symbolism and full of hidden codes). It depicts a sort of mirror of the cosmos in order to highlight the historic connection between freemasonry and stoneworkers - guardians of secret legacies transmitted through encrypted messages carved in the stones -. So, this photo-installation is formed by pieces of hypothetical planets and landscapes resulting from a sort of Big-Bang explosion, recalling the similarity these stones have with incredible otherworldly imaginary landscapes. These images are printed on transparent plexiglass and cut in different geometrical shapes. Moreover, the installation is completed with smoke, small mirrors and lights that form beams of light in the space.
The second part of “Ex oriente lux” is also based on the Law of Analogy but this time I focused on the ideas related to that what happens in the stars is directly connected with what happens on the planet and our lives. Starts rule the plane of formation of the material world, called the “astral plane”. This plane - another dimension - works as the motor and it connects the abstract - the world of the ideas - with the matter itself and the physical world. So, according to the occult sciences, it is the necessary intermediary for all transformations or movements to happen, this is, the engine of life. In this way, the moon and the sun, which in alchemy have a remarkable meaning as well as being the maximum symbol of divinity in theosophical esotericism, are aligned and reflected on Earth. They are basic elements of our everyday life and they depict the realm of reality. Specially, in the world of outwards appearances we live, not only for being more and more virtual, but even before Internet or AI, it was already a pre-establishedsociety living in a kind of organised scenery.
If I understood about <Ex Oriente Lux>, do you hope to show your interest and language that the important relationship between moon and sun in Occult science?
Both, the sun and the moon, as well as the rest of the stars in the universe, are crucial elements for all forms of esoterism, mysticism or alternative narratives that, for instance, don’t derive from Christianity. The most ancient cultures, the pagan traditions, considered them as objects of worship since they were a source of answers of all that we cannot control or understand.
Could you let me know the process to photograph suns and moons?
I photographed them with 35mm and 8mm film. Only the analogue film can organically catch those lights, since the burnt in analogue film is not necessarily a loss of information as it is in digital photography. Those inherent elements of film that are often treated as mistakes: overexposure, bleaching of the frame, lens flare or ending fading, I deem them to be something precious because these ‘errors’ are, in fact, faithful to reality. Film, as the sun and the moon, has its own life and it’s an alchemy process and it’s precisely this what I find interesting.
Besides, having been born facing the Atlantic Ocean, I have always had the opportunity to enjoy the whole daily journey of the sun, which is always very present in my hometown since it transforms the colours and lights of all that is around. This spontaneous attraction led me to photograph the sun in all its different ways, also because, it is never the same thing. I always felt that being able to enjoy it, it’s one of the biggest privileges I could have… Despite it is sometimes considered as a cliché of beauty, or its features tend to be exaggerated. For me, it a simply quotidian event embodying spectacular radical alterity.
Each photo work’s color (or sky and sun’s color) is different. (black & white, purple, red and so on). Is there special reason?
Regarding the alchemical character of film, I am interested in the transformation it implicates, which is uncontrollable and whose nature is unshowable. When you work with film it exists this relationship with alchemy and magic. Film evokes what it is beyond the rational self, as well as the immanent transcendence that the medium itself already holds. It triggers a kind of mystical experience or poetics. It is a journey to an unknown place, far removed from the actual world, to which analogue photography transports us and it cannot be replaced or reproduced by any other means. I allow myself to be free in the use of colours as a sort of celebration of the miracle of the photochemical and its uniqueness. This is to recreate the illusory and alchemical character of film as well as the blindness and mystery of the medium. There is not an unfailing desire to master the medium, but to appreciate its particular beauty, leaving room for the surprise of what is not preestablished or premeditated. Beauty is in that which is out of control, unfathomable, side-lined, that which is considered useless or unimportant. Beauty is in everyday life.
As you focus on the mysticism / Occult, What did you pay attention for <Ex Oriente Lux>?
When I started this project, I had a lot of curiosity about the occult sciences as was already mentioned. During my research, I learned about concepts such as the "astral plane" or the "law of analogy" but also, I approached an unknown universe for me. All those experiences were translated visually, in a reality-language related to the intimate, the spiritual and the most basic and direct experience of the world itself.
Do you have any message to people or What do you want the audience to feel?
More than messages, I would like my work to be received just as an aesthetic experience that brings new languages and approaches to reality. It’s rather about transmitting openness, to underscore the fact that things are never in just one way, but they can be in infinitely different ways; and about the enjoyment derived from experiencing them, instead of closing ourselves to the otherness. It’s about going beyond the compartmentalised and watertight thinking through which we often see reality. In my work, there is a desire to know what it’s beyond the specific, pragmatic and utilitarian world in which we normally are immersed. It speaks about breaking barriers and borders, about the necessity of being in contact with different types of cosmovision, what links it directly to travel, but it speaks also about other kinds of journeys, more intimates. This is, to softly touch what is very meaningful for us but never ends up taking a specific form, nevertheless. In my work, there is always something that remains unfinished and unclosed; something that can’t be grasped nor categorised. Therefore, my work is located in this liminal and bewildering area which is related to our internal labyrinth in which I decide to get lost and even surrender to that emotional experience; in order to reach a collective unconscious. It is an emotional mechanism that is profoundly human. My work is a permanent search that never ends up dwelling a definitive shape. An endless seek whose purpose never finds an answer. It’s about got steeped by the world and delving into our inner labyrinths. In this sense, it has an oceanic feeling. This is to say, there is a strong inclination to adventure besides the necessity of isolation. These are contradictory concepts, but it is precisely this confusion and indeterminacy that governs my work; a strong necessity to connect to the world but also of seclusion. My work is also about aspirations that never are accomplished. It has to do with temporality and imperfection; a sort of work-in-progress.
It’s funny that sometime after finishing this project about “suns” and “moons”, I discovered that in my astral map, the sun is located in the 12th house which is related to all the ideas mentioned above. Knowing this all this made some more sense to me. The 12th house has to do with the idea of labyrinth, it is the house of the incessant seeks that steadily sails through the uncertainty (…)
You made stone works with photo works. What does the stone work mean in <Ex Oriente Lux>? I just wonder why you work in stone as well?
Actually, it is plexiglass imitating stones. But they are transparent and light stones, like if they were trying to escape from the gravity that stone implicates. This approach to the factual character materials bring is always present in my practice because I consider my photography work not only as a succession of images. Rather, they conclude or find their ultimate meaning on a determined space and position, as well as time. Size, place and material are important issues I bear in mind when creating my projects. These aspects provide new meanings but also create a kind of “aura” due to the total experience we have when experiencing the work…
what was the most difficulties when you work for <Ex Oriente Lux>? Or Do you have any unforgettable story during work?
It was quite a challenging project. First, it was hard to decode all those so cryptic texts written by Alexandre Saint Yves. They are really dense and complex. They’re full of references related, for example, to Kabbalah, even more hermetic to me, or other subjects linked to occult sciences. Secondly, another difficulty was how to visually materialise all those ideas, languages and mental images I was immersed in. This is, what to photograph now?
Also, I decided to become a member of the Rosicrucian Order, but it was not that easy and it required a lot of dedication and continuity so, after a conversation with someone related to freemasonry, I had the feeling that if try to enter in that world, this is to really try to “understand” Kabbalah, etc, my life would probably change forever. New beliefs and information would completely take my life in a different direction. I am an extremely sensitive person, for the good and the bad, so I realised that I was not, at all, prepared for all that, at least in that specific moment of my life. Maybe one day in the future. In any case, this project opened my eyes to new realities and, somehow, it has already changed my view of the world.
It would be great if you explain 2~4 photo works that you hope to mention to subscribers.

This photo was taken during a Solar Eclipse in my hometown, Nigrán (Spain). It was probably the most incredible eclipse I’ve ever seen. I went to a place I love on a mountain called Monteferro with my friend Cristina, where there is an amazing view. It’s not rare that when we both meet; special things happen around. Just a few seconds before the sun started to be covered by the moon, a cloak of clouds coming from the horizon covered the sea very quickly. Suddenly, we could only see a dense layer of clouds as if we were in a high peak but actually, we were not that far from the sea. The light changed becoming slightly darker but not only that, but the whole atmosphere changed in a few minutes. It was breathtaking, we were in a totally different landscape. I had never seen the clouds moving so fast as if they were spirits coming towards us. After some minutes of the total eclipse, the clouds started to move away and everything becomes the same it was; a sunny, bright and clear summer day. I took the picture when the clouds were going back to the horizon, because before I was so amazed that I could not even react.
These two pictures usually are shown in two lightboxes that work as a diptych. They were taken very early in the morning, when the sun was rising, near the Mont Blanc Mountain (France), with a Super 8 camera using the one-frame shoot mood. This moment was after a strong snowstorm. The atmosphere was full of fog which worked as a sort of a diffuser for the sunlight. It was really amazing.
