SO I was inspired by This Reblog and absolutely adore any and all dragon Aus. And was hit with a rapid bit of inspiration.
Danny sighed through his nose, rolling his shoulders as another blob coiled across his arm like a serpent. It was an interesting thing, how they mimicked other forms, though he didn't understand all of it.
Normally they wouldn't mimic him so much, not so strongly at least. But well, the ghosts here were mere whispers, visible to a few and unable to interact much. Which is what really brought him here in the first place.
Apparently something is blocking the access to the Realms here, enough that someone needs to do something about it. And look, he's not the Ghost King (thank fuck, he'd never be able to have Star-Time if he was) but he does sort of have a job to do. As the child of Time and new Ancient of Space to-be.
Not to mention that as said new Ancient-of-Space-to-be the Observants can't complain that much about him entering a world they didn't like.
And oh boy, this world. Yikes. There's some corrupted stuff freaking everywhere (even if not visibly), and monsters. And he does mean monsters, a lot of these things are corrupted as all heck- though thankfully the skeletal undead ones leave him alone no matter what form he takes.
On the other hand? There's this little gremlin child that reminds him of Ellie that runs into him repeatedly. Danny is starting to think it's on purpose actually. Child? Child where are your caretakers, you can't just charge at the lion-horse people- ... Danny despises prophecies. Alright child, he's going to start following you because you haven't even eaten tonight apparently. And your weapon has broken. Twice. And you're apparently surrounded by ghosts, how has he not noticed- alright. OKAY. This is fine.
-------------------------
Link, would like everyone to know, that he is actually having so much fun right now! There's this sort-of Hylian that he found when looking for Koroks whose sort of like a stal-hylian? Or something? But they're nice!
And they have wings! He thought it was some sort of cloak at first, but no, they're full on wings! And he's going to convince them to take him flying. He will.
After he takes care of this itching on his back, because it's getting really distracting...
Yes I used Flight Rising specifically because @fairy-lights-and-blobs mentioned it specifically for Danny's wings.

A Danny & Link <3 But also feel free to imagine them as mixed with any dragon really.

Daily fish fact #685
Lampreys!
Tumblr media
While some lampreys turn to a parasitic lifestyle as adults, drilling into the sides of bigger animals to feed on their flesh and blood, lamprey larvae, ammocoetes, are actually filter feeders! The lamprey larva life stage can last up to a decade, and they spend their time being half-buried in sandy substrate, consuming whatever tiny organic particles float to them. Ammocoetes' feeding rate is the slowest of any suspension-feeding animal, and due to this they require a habitat very rich in nutrients.

people are discoursing about the laios and shiro fight bc that was always going to happen but i do hope that wave crests quickly and we can all come to see it as what it is: literally one of the best written fights between two people who are both entirely justified in their actions and acting without any malice or cruelty of all time
#theres a tendency - especially in action and faction based media (which a lot of fantasy is or is in dialogue with) - to depict fights only#as happening between someone who Is Right and someone who Is Wrong#and getting to see a full on beatdown between two dudes who are both acting in an entirely understandible way and who both dont actually#want to hurt the other at all - to the extent where their desire to maintain a positive relationship with each other is the SOURCE of their#conflict in the first place - is just so cathartic to see#like unpopular opinion but sometimes you do just need to Fight someone to work through issues youre having#like irl i would not recommend that extent of Force obviously#but if you're two people in a situation where neither has active power over the other sometimes the healthiest option involves expressing#and receiving genuine anger that is not filtered through a social buffer#like sometimes you just need to yell that someone is pissing you off by how much they invade ur time and space and sometimes you need to#yell that someone is sabotaging your ability to interact with them by not expressing any discomfort with your behaviour ever#AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO BE YELLED AT#BECAUSE it sucks. it sucks to experience and until you can both share that space of feeling awful with each other youre not gonna get past#it and you're not gonna understand each other's pain#i think they're both wonderfully well written characters and its a testament to their depth as people that i can so easily understand why#and how both of them are behaving the way they do#im still only like halfway through the manga but it is like my favourite character interaction scene so far#fred says a thing#dunmeshi

Slowburn Au I thought would be really adorable to draw out--
Basic premise; Adrien doesn't immediately fall in love with LB and instead kins her bc she says the things he could never as Adrien. Marinette understands can relate to Adrien social inept-ness on a spiritual level so she finds herself playing the middle-man to help him make friends.
Adrien doesn't think he's in love with LB because he was taught that love is gradual and love at first sight doesn't exist.
Marinette doesn't think she's in love with Adrien bc (Canon divergence starts here) Love is a spark and happens instantly; Like the stories she's been told by her parents.
Obvi they get over this and realize in some ways they're both right and wrong and it takes 4-5 seasons to realize its love, and another 4-5 for a reveal-

The Great Notes App Exodus: Half-Dead and Still Kicking
The thing is, Jason’s been a ghost for a while, okay? Six whole months, and it’s been a goddamn adjustment, being capable of floating through walls and falling through furniture if he’s not careful, if he’s not concentrating. He goes unseen and unheard in a manor too full of grieving to only be residence of two people - Alfred keeps his room tidy and untouched, as if it’s a shrine to keep care of, and Bruce is…
Jason is, was, Robin, so he can’t quite help himself from following in Batman’s shadow as the man patrols, more vicious, more brutal than Jason has ever seen him. He takes more risks, gets injured more often - and it’s terrifying, the way Batman grieves, as if trying to follow him into the grave. So Jason follows, unbeating heart in his throat, and only relaxes again when Bruce is safe in the manor, sleeping off whatever injuries he got during the night.
He can’t interact with the world, but he can watch the shades of past residents going about their lives, and he learns things from doing this even as he fears becoming them one day, mindlessly replaying a life long passed. He can snoop and explore without worry for being caught, and if he ever gets bored he can practice flying (so much harder than it seems - he’s careful never to go too high, too worried that he won’t be able to come back down again, even with the ceaseless curiosity in the back of his mind wondering - just how far can I go? Beyond the sky? Could he touch the stars, if he wanted?) and when everything is terrible, when the memories of his death, his last few hours of life, haunt him, when he is drowning in his own head, he finds distractions; the way the air currents sometimes seem to react to him, trying to move things like ghosts do in those terrible movies, chattering to whoever is around and pretending they can hear him, finding mysteries to solve (what’s up with that camera kid, anyway? He’d never noticed him before…) and trying to read books in the library through sheer force of will, usually ending up just reciting the parts he knows.
(Two months and a bit in to this whole “ghost” thing, he finds out the deal with the camera kid. Jason can only be relieved because, kid’s got a point - and Bruce seems to do better with someone to protect, to teach, to watch over.
He’s not practically tearing people apart with his bare hands anymore. He’s not taking hits he should have been able to avoid anymore. He’s not lurking at the edge of rooftops anymore, staring at the ground as if contemplating how far away it is.)
And Tim… he’s weird, but brilliant, and Jason feels a little protective of him. Follows him whenever he goes out, sharp eyes watching his back regardless of whether he can protect it or not (and maybe it’s his imagination, but the world seems more real when he’s watching over Tim, closer and present in a way he can almost feel, as if he could actually affect the world, if he just tried hard enough - if he just needed to desperately enough).
And then, six months after his-… after this ghost thing started, something… changes.
Something Happens, and he can almost taste the strange Knowing - something, somewhere, has gone wrong, or perhaps right, and the ripples extend beyond the event, slipping into each corner of the universe with the subtlety of a truck, and yet somehow unnoticed.
The ghosts notice. Pale shades lift their heads, existing outside of their own memories for the first time in an age - and Jason, who is new, who is Robin, who lived in Gotham where all things become possible, is hit by the wave of Something Happening Elsewhere Rippling Out and wakes up in a box.
In a coffin.
(But Jason has been a ghost for six months, and the pain of living again is enough to reach for the existence of being a ghost, and by the time he has sorted himself out and half-clawed, half-floated his way out of his grave (again), he doesn’t expect himself to be anything but what he has been for the past six months.)
(And then, of course, he discovers he can interact with the world if he concentrates, if he wants it enough, and he assumes that Whatever That Was made him a stronger ghost.
It’s not an unfair assessment. Incorrect, but not beyond reason.
Why would he think he came back to life, anyway? That’s a bit far-fetched, really.)

Very amused that people who don't know me at all read apparently half of what I posted earlier on I/P and decided my take that "I don't support any nation state and think we should do away with all of them but since this is the system we currently have it's decidedly antisemitic to single out Israel as The One To Destroy Above All Others and we should instead support peace and safety for both Israelis and Palestinians" is equivalent to "genocide is good actually." Like I know this is tumblr, aka the "piss on the poor" reading comprehension website but also like, idk, maybe learn to read before yelling at random people online and accusing them of supporting genocide? Also for the record, it's *really fucking weird and antisemitic* to yell at random Jews on the internet and accuse them of supporting genocide because they have Opinions You Personally Disagree With.
You can, in fact, simply block people who's takes you don't like. It's free! And easy! You hit the three dots at the top of the post, it opens a drop down menu and you select "block". Now the person who you think has Bad and Evil Opinions™️ will never show up in tags for you again! Problem solved! They might, unfortunately, show up on your dashboard if someone you follow reblogs something they posted or added to, because tumblr is slightly broken in that regard, but you will be saved from their opinions in tags. And they won't be able to interact with you! And there's even a handy feature you can use to hide *all* content they've ever made/posted, even stuff you're dearly beloved mutual who thinks they're cool reblogs. You just, blacklist the username. Now they will show up as filtered content and you have to manually unhide any post that mentions their username in any way, saving you from the Opinions You Don't Like. And they're free to continue *their* internet experience without you yelling at them for tagging things with something that is a general filter/sort/information tag simply because *you* think their opinions are Bad and Don't Belong There.

i know i havent always done this myself until recently but if you're posting something that overtly relates to a specific media, as in the post has a photo from it or has text describing it (including fanworks), please consider tagging it with a main tag especially on a platform like this where we have a filtering system.
i know its not fair to expect people to cater their posting habits to your requirements, but if i see another post that contains something from a media that triggers me because it wasnt maintagged so my tag filters missed it, i might just lose it

Pitch: An absurdist dramady version of The X Files. Like in the style of Pushing Daisies or Northern Exposure. Or Arrested Development lol. where instead of being assigned together they meet at some kind of investigative seminar (or a new agey 'self discovery' thing Melissa dragged Scully to and Mulder's there investigating something or meeting someone?), and Mulder and Scully meet and instantly become inseparable and get married by the end of the conference and have to integrate their lives. It's like a supernatural version of 'Dharma and Greg' except instead of trying to mesh the hippy stoner astrology rebel family background on one side and the WASPy conservative rich family background on the other side, you've got the 'emotionally traumatized and involved in a massive conspiracy involving aliens and eugenics for profit' background and the 'boisterously eclectic middle class family of navy brats and moby dick fanatics' background on the other side.
Scully's a pathologist and Mulder's working the x-files with Jerry from Ghost in the Machine and later Jeffrey Spender, but they end up involved in each other's cases all the time while arguing about them. Samantha was taken but returned like a year/18 months later with no memory of what happened and she grew up feeling like such a freak because of it that she's obsessed with being very normal, so she thinks Mulder is too 'out there' and too overprotective, and doesn't want to believe in the conspiracy stuff. Scully and Samantha don't get along but Sam does think she's better than Diana. Who pops up from time to time to wreck havoc.
Carl Spender is openly Mulder's biological father because it came out when Teena divorced Bill, but he's still a megalomaniacal power monger in the center of a conspiracy and Mulder still hates him, he just also thinks that Mulder should acknowledge him as a 'decent father' because he hasn't let the syndicate outright kill him and hasn't targeted his new sort-of daughter in law. Mulder and Jeffrey know they are half brothers and Jeffry is insanely jealous both because 'Ol Smokey likes Mulder better (cares enough to taunt him instead of just ignoring him) and because Mulder's much better at investigating paranormal stuff. Jeffrey has also always had a crush on Samantha and is trying to protect her from the Syndicate, but Samantha thinks it's too weird that he's her brother's half brother and won't have anything to do with him.
Jeffrey's also jealous that Mulder got married and to such a normal woman from outside the pool of special conspiracy people when CGB will be expecting him to marry who he picks, so he keeps trying to set Scully up in the eyes of the Syndicate or the Bureau in retribution but she and Melissa have the opposite of CC's 'woman danger tragedy magnet syndrome' and effortlessly sidestep his incompetent little plots without hardly even noticing by simply being focused and intuitive.
Melissa is the only one from either of their families who thinks their being married is a good idea. Also Melissa ends up dating the Lone Gunmen. All of them, in a complicated poly situation that both Mulder and Scully are mildly alarmed by this but it's actually very sweet.
Scully's friend Ellen is concerned that Scully doesn't seem to see how suddenly and wildly insane her life became, kind of like becoming a mob wife but with bugs and goo and aliens, but Scully shrugs it off because it's interesting and she has Mulder now so that part's good, plus he needs her, and you can't choose your in-laws can you.

𝐏𝐇𝐘𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐊 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄
ヽ( ´O`): What is their body language like when sleepy?
━━ Robin is perpetually tired, but when he is especially sleepy he does trudge around and tends to yawn and stretch often - and he cracks every time. Robin's patience also very quickly depletes when he's not rested - and he tends to get irritated faster - his calm aloof mask will fall during these times too. If you ever want Robin to curse at you or be a bit more unfiltered in his responses, this is the time to bother him - although don't be surprised if he broods and isolates during this time.
╰(*´︶`*)╯: Do they appreciate hugs? Would they prefer to give hugs or receive hugs? What kind of hugs do they like to receive and/or give?
━━ I'd say its a 10/90 split. 10% being the time he does appreciate physical contact but its only with a few select people - otherwise do not touch him. As for hugs by strangers, he has a pretty strict, "don't touch me" policy. Intruding on his personal space is a quick way to get him to view you in a lower light; animals have no control over such things but sentient creatures should know better than poking and pressing someone, or something, they don't know. Interestingly enough while Robin doesn't really like being touched, he is fine with initiating it with strangers - granted its never anything particularly heavy and most of the time is just a handshake. Anything more than professional touches to this group of people is a farce - he has no gender bias for who he exploits and has no issues utilizing people's natural craving for touch. He won't like it - persay - but he recognizes its usefulness.
When it comes to that 10% he opens up a bit more and will be accepting of physical intimacy - although he still tends to forget about it most of the time and unless he's feeling particularly affectionate he will keep his hands to himself. It isn't due to lack of trust or hostility with this specific group of individuals though; much more that he is so used to not having physical intimacy that he honestly just forgets about it. A quick reminder or someone else initiating that contact will get a positive response and if he's in a good mood and not overstimulated/stressed, a return of said affections.
Robin's relationship with touch in general is complicated and deeply rooted in the environment that he grew up in. Zaun isn't the most friendly place to be and he really only had his family for physical comfort and genuine affection. Most, if not all, of his experiences with touch after the accident were to establish dominance, to injure/kill, and were generally a negative experience over all. Even though Abel was gentle in his touches and usually amiable - Robin was firmly aware that these were just ploys to gain favor and held no genuine care behind them. He will never admit any of this, and claims that this is just how he is, but his background had a massive impact on his character regardless of if he wants to own up to his trauma and how it changed him.
(ó﹏ò。): Are there any foods that make their stomach upset?
━━ Robin doesn't have any food allergies but due to his current state of unlife most food bothers him since he cannot digest it properly. Too much of this and he will get sick and probably cough up blood, but he can ingest a little. However he is not fond of sweets in the slightest; he prefers bitter or savory flavors as he often finds that sugary/sweet foods make his teeth "feel fuzzy" - and it is a feeling that he absolutely hates as it makes him feel unclean and like he has to immediately brush his teeth. The only sweet food he does enjoy (and will happily receive) is caramelized pears; here is the recipe below so you can see the flavors he fonder of:
2-3 pears
10 green cardamom pods
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar light or dark
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

I should learn to start reading the tags on the fics I'm about to read, bc a few times now I've started reading a fic, gotten jumspcared by something that has been tagged, and then noped out of it.
It's a bit funny, honestly.

Its so funny how everyone can be in complete agreement that fanfic can be good and thoughtful and empowering actually, and cartoons can be smart and insightful and challenge young viewers to see the world with more nuance actually, and everybody can be all in on the critical thinking when its making points that they personally agree with, but the SECOND someone comes for something you enjoy with a criticism you didn’t already think of or agree with yourself, watch how fast the tune changes to “omg its JUST fanfic, its not that deep” or “omg its JUST a cartoon, its not that deep.”
Interesting. All I’m saying.

also our Tourette's has been flaring up in a way that's getting painful but it's basically like:
seasonal allergies make our eyes watery and irritated
we rub our eyes a lot which causes some of the eyelashes to fall out and irritate our eyes more
this triggers our trichotillomania so we end up pulling out more eyelashes which makes our eyelids even more sore and irritated
the combination of sensations from the wateriness and irritation triggers one specific tic really badly
that tic makes our eyes even more watery and irritated
the cycle continues...
(also if we have to use a fan because the weather's getting warmer, that makes our dry eye syndrome flare up and makes everything even worse)
it's currently mostly our right eye, but sometimes it's the left one or both, although I know this time last year we had a bunch of issues with our right eye getting really bad. it's painful and we have constant sensory issues from it and our vision ends up getting really blurry.
I'm guessing it's triggered by seasonal allergies because it always starts in spring, around when the birch trees start releasing pollen, but I'm not entirely sure what's going on with that because we keep the windows closed. it started at pretty much the exact same time that our mum's hayfever first got bad this year

This is Revavroom. It's a Steel/Poison type Pokemon, based on a car engine. An old scrap car engine is enspirited and constructs a body resembling that of an automobile. Its highest stat is (physical) Attack, with a modest base of 119. Its natural learnset includes a lot of Poison, Steel and Normal-type moves. Let's take a look at its available TM moves.
Tumblr media
Here is a partial selection of Revavroom's TM moves. Cool, makes sense... wait, Rain Dance? How does that fit? That's the only Water-type move it learns, and its only other setup-y moves are Toxic Spikes and Sunny Day. Revavroom doesn't have anything that could make use of rainy weather. Looking at Revavroom's set, it makes me think... something's missing! An incredibly specific and somewhat thinly distributed move that would be right at home in the learnset of a physical attacker AND a car. ...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
There's a distinct lack of Revavroom here. In fact, there's a distinct lack of most horse pokemon, as well. My original thought when I realised that Revavroom doesn't learn High Horsepower was "huh, maybe it's just the signature move for Mudsdale and didn't get distributed", but I was wrong. So now I'm wondering... who looked at Revavroom's set and went 'yeah, the car can summon rain but it can't summon its innate horsepower to ram a foe'
My son... who hurt you... why does Gamefreak hate you so much...
