i think every company that tried to go all in on the AI tech craze owes us all reparations for subjecting us to the most insufferable onslaught of performative advertising that's ever been witnessed on this earth

#i actually feel a level of unspeakable hostility when i see an ad for anything AI related #and it's not just because of the ethics of it / environmental impacts etc #it's the fact that it's been injected into EVERYTHING #even places where it really doesn't serve ANY functional or practical purpose #having to hear techbros preach AI at you is as enjoyable as having a toddler throw up on you as you're taking off on a 12 hour flight #i watch youtube on my ps4 and thus get ads and every second or third is some ai garbage trying to entice me to be meaninglessly lazier

#the first time he did it in unmortricken i was like Fuck Yes and little did i know he would just keep doing it the whole time #DESPERATELY hoping they keep both of these things. i Love when characters have tiny little habits sprinkled in their actions #to me these things kinda sorta symbolise him no longer being afraid to really be himself #like he no longer has to hide certain things about himself that inside of the cfc wouldve made him appear ‘suspicious’#since he IS like so much different than any other morty ever #also barely related but like. em is fundamentally such a good character bc everytime we see him he’s feeling something different #in his first appearance he was cold and distant because at the time he was new to being free and was strictly focused on his goal and wasn’#even sure if it would work #in his second appearance he seemed hopeful and honest both of these things just being a trap to get the people of the citadel to trust him #and his old colder self unfurling near the end after he successfully becomes president #in his third appearance he seems giddy almost. he’s constantly giggling before and after sentences and he’s super eager to just Get The Hel #Out. and also to reveal the truth to morty prime. make it so that he doesn’t have to be the one to shoulder everything anymore.#and this fourth appearance. apart from a few little details he really just seems happy and comfortable. the entire episode he was just doin #whatever he wanted and nobody got in his way at all. and i could not be happier #normal about this character!#rick and morty #evil morty #rick and morty spoilers #odiespeak

The culture around creation right now is fascinating to me, because whether we’re talking a blogger with a couple hundred followers on a dying website or the biggest artist in a generation, huge groups of people seem to think that creators should mold their creations to suit the consumer and get angry when they do not. When in reality, the creator gets to decide the direction and it is on the consumer to let it go and find something else to consume if it isn’t what they want.

#this shows up time and again #with anons asking bloggers to change something about how they blog #or fans demanding their faves change who they work with or how they create #that isn’t the consumer’s call #the consumer can choose to consume the creation or not #but they don’t get to decide the direction #and it’s not to say no one should have an opinion #but it’s they way the opinions are expressed that feels different #it used to be ‘yeah I love This Band…their second album wasn’t my fave but man do I love their third and fourth’#and now it’s ‘This Band should completely change their sound because I personally am bored of it’
