There's an incredibly fucking interesting contrast between how kind and benevolent Theresa is and how fucked up what she did to Amiya (in choosing to pass the Civilight Eterna onto Amiya).
Almost everyone who is In The Know thinks that Theresa is so fucked up for doing this, for being the reason why Amiya is forced to shoulder the entire weight of Sarkaz history and to be uncontrollably overwhelmed by other people's emotions and feel them as they die:
Shining sees Amiya and feels a pang of compassion:
Warfarin thinks it's better to just let Amiya die in her sleep and thinks that, in a moment of desperate, misguided hope, Theresa condemned a little girl to a horrible fate:
Kal'tsit really doesn't want Amiya to fight or lead the Chernobog operation because fears that she will suffer the same fate Theresa did, smothered out by the cruelty of an uncaring world (but at the same time, she also believes she has the right to choose for herself):
Even Amiya's potential token is (what seems to be, to me) a plea for forgiveness from Theresa:
But the thing is, Amiya doesn't think this. She has absolutely every reason to hate Theresa, to despise her for showing her love but taking her life into her hands and saying "my path is now yours," but she doesn't. In fact, Amiya is more grateful than anything else that Theresa has given her the Crown, and with it, the power to change things (but at the same time, even that is called into question. Remember that one conversation between Amiya and the Damazati Cluster as Bill in Episode 10?:)
There's this one scene in Episode 8 in particular that really gets me, where Rosmontis asks Amiya that shouldn't they hate the people that turned them into the monsters they are, but Amiya can't agree:
Even if Theresa was the monster who made sure she could never live a normal life and the reason for the suffering she's experienced, she was her mother, how could she agree? She was her mother, she loved her and Amiya could never bring herself to hate her.

I’ve gone on and on about how Leo wants to be who Splinter finds is the ideal person (which just so happens to be Splinter’s ideal version of himself) but I have yet to really touch upon how Donnie is the one who most directly parallels Splinter himself to an honestly shocking degree, Raph’s taking from Splinter’s teachings and parenting has resulted in an unhealthy mixup in the different dynamics of a family versus a team, and Mikey is the one who is simultaneously the most focused on family and the most intrinsically himself which both leads to his better grasp of mystics and honestly what just might be the healthiest dynamic with Splinter.

Gluttony Is Not Just Excessive Eating
Yes, it is a main component of gluttony, but that's not all it is!
(And yes, this is also in response to people complaining about how Helluva Boss's Queen Bee-lzebub is not fat despite representing the sin of Gluttony)
Gluttony's etymology originates from the Latin word gluttire meaning "to gulp." This is to emphasize how someone can over-indulge in food and drink.
While gluttony's base definition focuses on the act of overeating and overdrinking, it is also important to note how people overeat and overdrink.
Many church leaders dating back to the Middle Ages have expanded on gluttony in one way or another. But the most popular interpretation comes from St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica. He goes over 5 different ways that gluttony can tempt us!
Laute – eating food that is too luxurious, exotic, or costly
Studiose – eating food that is excessive in quality (too daintily or elaborately prepared)
Nimis – eating food that is excessive in quantity (too much)
Praepropere – eating hastily (too soon or at an inappropriate time)
Ardenter – eating greedily (too eagerly)
The fact that there are at least 5 different ways gluttony can be interpreted is already incredible enough.
But it is also important to note that the first 3 ways focus more on the eating of food while the last 2 focus more on the speed in which food is consumed. Also, the food in question doesn't just refer to quantity, but quality of food can be seen as gluttonous too!
So, with that out of the way, how does this all relate back to Queen Bee?
⚠ SPOILERS FOR HELLUVA BOSS SEASON 1 EPISODE 8 ⚠
Throughout both the song "Cotton Candy" and the majority of the party itself, she encourages her guests to eat and drink to their heart's content.
Whether that be enlarging their food, offering giant kegs, or raining candy down on the guests, there is no doubt to anyone that she is encouraging gluttony from her guests. (At least, in the party-girl hedonistic approach and not to feed one's sadness like in the case of Blitzo).
Since excessive food and drink can often make a person feel good, I like the idea of an extroverted party-girl representing gluttony. And she is a fun character with both her performance and making sure her guests are well entertained and taken care of. It's honestly a refreshing take on the deadly sin.
The main point here: you do not have to be fat to be gluttonous.
As long as you have the core concepts of inspiring gluttony, I think that's all that really matters in the end, and Queen Bee knocks it out of the park.
And lastly, while this might be a headcanon more than anything else, I bet all of that dancing and flying is amazing exercise.
If she is putting that much effort into her performances and parties, she must be moving around a ton to organize, rehearse, and interact with everyone. So, if people out there really need a reason to why she is not fat, that's just my thought.
Anyways, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I honestly just wanted to rant to get it out of my system.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts! I'm sure there is probably more about the topic that could be covered by others but I just wanted to rant about my perception of it all. Thank you!

one hope I have for taylor's future music is that whenever she inevitably directs more music videos we get something more based in reality. on the whole the videos she's directed/co-directed have had this feeling of not being real-life and that's not necessarily a bad thing — e.g. the midnights videos are all so cgi heavy, but they're cohesive as a collection and have the sense of unreality that comes with dreaming or being half asleep, and similarly the cardigan/willow videos blend fantasy and reality in a fitting way for the album themes — but for me something that really stands out with all too well in contrast is how grounded and real it feels and I'd love to see her explore that more in her videos!!

Still packing stuff and now i'm looking for a box for this.
My dad and i made it a few years ago for halloween, probably 2015/16 if i'm remembering right. It's made from a lays can, a wipes container from his work, and paper maché. I don't remember what the wires and front metal bits are from, but the middle actually lights up! It has one of those long battery-powered emergancy lights in it and some colored tissue paper

Stolen from Scummy's reblog because I wanted to do it too!
Note that most half-filled squares are ones that are technically true, but it's under specific circumstances and rules, will explain below
So, for now, some Blorbos from me:
-Intense in loves and passions (for Nobunaga, for MC once they get together, for trying to get Mitsuhide to take better care of himself, in his care for others, dude is just passionate for his loved ones!)
-His love for Nobu and his interactions with Mitsuhide can get a little fruity, not gonna lie.
-Technically orphan since we don't really hear much about his family aside from his poor upbringing and having to be a bum to get by until Nobu came into his life. Agas in discord has also told us about RL Hideyoshi and how much his mom loved Kennyo and I think that's funny to think about sometimes.
-Frequently violent but only when it comes to protecting his loved ones. He thinks one of them is in trouble and the man will go feral trying to find a way to help them. Overall speaking, he's not particularly violent, I don't think though.
-----
-Nothing anyone says is gonna make me change my mind about this man being bisexual. Nope, not happening.
-Technically a tragic backstory as he frequently does Team Oda's dirty work of spying and torture, but his tragic backstory is not quite to the extent that some other characters go through, like poverty, figure-headness, and killing a loved one.
-Technically frequently violent, but it's mostly in the pranks he pulls. Not ferally violent, in a sense. He's sneaky about his violent tendencies. You don't want to mess with his wife, after all.
-Divorced? He's a double agent that always goes back to his ex (Team Oda).
------
-Being an immortal vampire means you must have some complexities and that doesn't excuse you being fruity, monsieur.
-Technically an orphan as I don't think we hear much about his birth family as we do Leonardo and Vlad. They're mentioned sometimes but no word on their current status as he tends to focus more on his found family. Until I get confirmed status, he's orphan status to me, thus why the creation of his found one.
-Divorced from Vlad, duh.
------
-Listen. Listen. Devon/batteryrose was onto something with shipping Nokto and Slivio. Plus, been thinking of finding ways of shipping my OC and him with Rio. Just something about Nokto and the Bentonite princes does something to my mind, okay?
-Technically an orphan after what happened to his and Licht's mom, plus the whole reason for the Belle procedure is because his dad died. Maybe it doesn't count because he was an adult when his dad died, but, technically speaking, both his parents are dead, so...
-Murderer by technicality because of Blood-stained Roses Day (all the princes at the time were said to have participated, so, technically speaking). He also tried to poison some merchants for a business deal, so attempted murderer too, technically?
-----
-Have you seen this demon when his family is in danger (actual, perceived, or otherwise)? He will go absolutely bat-shit feral when his family is in danger! Once you're under his wings, nothing will stop him from going to the absolute limit and beyond for you.
-Technically divorced from the Celestial Realm because of Circumstances™️, not from a specific person.
-Also on a technicality, because of that... whole war with the Celestial Realm, so some angels were more than likely killed, right?

"Biden is the best choice and he's actually really empathetic and reasonable but also you can't wait for a candidate that won't do genocide and war crimes because to become a presidential candidate you have to be willing to do that" see what you fundamentally don't understand is I'm not waiting for a candidate that won't do war crimes, because I know that. I cannot morally stomach this system, it's a joke to claim its democratic, and AMERICA DELENDA EST. this country is a plague on this Earth

Note to myself so I can articulate some stuff out of my brain this evening:
There is a future waiting for you where you will get to see and make new memories with the loved ones you miss that you’ve had to leave behind for the moment and there’s a future where you’ll make many more new lifelong loved ones. It seems so very and annoyingly far away right now but it’s waiting and you will get there. There’s a future where you’ll get to live with old and new loved ones where movie nights are common place and casual nights out and other hangouts and field trips are as expected as you like. Life will still be hard but it won’t be lonely. There will be people who will let you lay on the floor of their bedroom and complain and will come to yours to do the same and they will be within walking distance, either down the hall or down the street. It won’t happen today or in a month or maybe even in three years but it’s there.

Geneeeee!! Has anyone done Gene?? Nevermind I have a backup option: Zeke!!
DTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I literally never get tired of seeing you in my ask box 🥹❣️
Unfortunately, you got beaten by Nikki, because she asked about Gene first!! You can find that here:
https://www.tumblr.com/goldendoodlerlockerlove/741996094993661952/character-asks-gene?source=share
So, I suppose this ask will be all about Zeke!! Whose last name remains undisclosed for some reason.
First impression: I actually wasn't too sure about Zeke at first?? I never disliked him. I always enjoyed him as a character. But him being the Mad Pooper in Broadcast Wagstaff School News was just so strange to me, pfffffft. However, I did immediately find it quite sweet that he did it for Tina. I don't ship Zekina that much, but I can definitely see why a lot of other people do (but come on, people, stop using this ship as an excuse to bash Tinimmy, I am still so tired of it--)
Impression now: I love Zeke, he's hilarious. And his interactions with all of the Belchers have been great. Him calling Gene his precious lil' lamb in Stand By Gene?? Adorable (please correct me if I got the episode where he said that wrong)!! He's genuinely such a sweet kid with a newfound love of cooking, which I love to see. He deserves the best. I hope he finds someone nice in the future.
Favorite moment: Probably when he busted out that mascot costume for his grandma, because that was one of the sweetest moments in the entire show, in my opinion. The boy loves his grandma, and that's so adorable. They clearly have a super sweet bond. Also, side note, the story about his grandpa wooing his grandma because of a similar mascot costume is so cute. It kind of gives me Boblin vibes, not gonna lie.
Idea for a story: I would love to see Zeke bond more with Bob when it comes to cooking, the boy is clearly talented, and I would love to see what he can do if that talent is properly nurtured by someone as caring and experienced as Bob. The two would definitely have a great time.
Unpopular opinion: I don't think Zeke treats Tina so much better than Jimmy Jr. like a ton of other people say. He's a thirteen-year-old boy just like J Ju is. He's had his fair share of not being great to Tina, and let's not forget the lore that he actually used to be kind of a troublemaker and bully back in the day. Of course, he's matured a lot since then, and I love him, but he doesn't treat Tina as well as a lot of people say. There are just way too many Tinimmy bashers, and I will not stand for that.
Favorite relationship: I think his relationship with Jimmy Jr. is my favorite. He's always wrestling J Ju, and J Ju is always down to get tackled by him. Those two idiots just have a very special bond, and it's great to see.
Favorite headcanon: I'm honestly not sure!! Maybe the headcanon where he begins working for the Belchers and honing his cooking skills because that is always wonderful to see.

Okay but after watching and hearing about Untold Origins, I am....actually slightly hopeful for a happy-ish ending for BSD?
I know we're years away from the manga actually ending, should all go well behind the scenes, but even so, the way the ADA - the organisation that Atsushi (our protag) is involved with - was created gives me hope.
Because you have these two loners, one alone by his own will and his fear of himself and others. And the other alone all of a sudden after a secluded but happy life with loving parent, growing slowly to fear the world. Yet in each other they find a family and find a new present, find meaning and colour in each other.
Fukuzawa learns to overcome his past, and Ranpo grows to look forward to his future. And together they create a place where their present will be safe, where they can help not only themselves but a very cruel world.
In addition, at the start, they are both (in essence) extraordinary but completely ordinary people. As in, Ranpo doesn't actually have a special ability despite his unusually high perception and deduction skills, and Fukuzawa doesn't yet know of his own ability and only has his near inhuman swordsman skills. And in that ordinariness disguised under extraordinariness, they affirm each other's humanity.
It's just so seriously special to me, as much as it's funny, that the founders of the supernatural-based agency weren't special in the sense of having supernatural powers. I can't quiiiite articulate it into words but there's SOMETHING in there about how the ADA was founded on a baseline of finding the extraordinary beauty of just being your own weird kind of human being, no powers needed. That, actually, being extraordinary was still being human.
And where I'm going with all of this is to say that...well, look at all the members of the ADA. And look at the way the agency was founded, by whom, and what it represents. The ADA was started on a basis of actually helping someone who felt alienated from the world find their place in it while also protecting them from it, and we SEE in Ranpo and Yosano and Kunikida - even in Katai, honestly, though he left - how it did exactly that. Helped someone perhaps not find meaning in their future, but definitely find love and hope in the now.
So why can't I believe that given what the ADA stands for - a family, a bright present, a place where one can rediscover their humanity and find a place in a seemingly meaningless world - the manga won't end with something like the way Untold Origins ended? People coming together and fighting their way through the everyday, just content in the fact that at least for now, they're alive and together?
