everyone on the cast just announced their spots in the series, it was your first time doing this so you were a bit nervous. you watched your phone as all the positive comments started to roll in.

you heard the door to your trailer open and saw a familiar face, walker. you would never admit this to anyone, but you did sort of have a crush on him. but you had to put the admiration to the side now that he was your co-star.

“Y/N, do you want to go grab food since we’re done shooting for the day?”, he asked you.

“sure! where are we going?”, you replied as you got up and started exiting your trailer.

“i don’t know, in-n-out?”

“yeah, sure”, you said as you walked to the car.

the whole car ride was filled with scream-singing to one direction songs, it was amazing. the light that shined through his hair made you admire him even more. how the sunshine made his eyes sparkle. the way his smile grew when you were both singing along to the music that shaped both of your childhoods. you had always dreamed of nights like this, now they became your reality. your only wish was that he would see you as more than a friend.

the next day you arrived to set early and we r straight to the hair and makeup trailer, which was were walker was also. you couldn’t wait to see him.

“hey Y/N, how are you?” walker asked as you walked through the door.

“i’m good, a little tired tho, how about you?” you replied.

“i’m good!”, he said.

you two fell into easy conversation while getting makeup done, or getting your hair fixed. it was always easy with him, you always felt safe and at home while you were with walker. it was just something about him.

“action!”, you heard and immediately started to act out your scene with walker. it was going to be in the finale episode, where you place your necklace around his neck. it was supposed to be a little romantic, but it shouldn’t have affected you this much.

walker’s deep blue eyes stared you down, your cheeks immediately turned a deep shade of red. it was embarrassing, everyone on set would notice your admiration toward walker.

walker started laughing, most likely from your eye contact. almost every scene you guys shot together ended up like this, you and walker would burst out laughing. almost every scene had to be reshot many many times.

you shot the scene again and again until it was perfect. your cheeks still burning many minutes after.

after many long hours of shooting, walker entered into your trailer to hang out with you. it had become a nightly ritual for you guys. you would lay on your couch and scroll on tiktok, showing each other the funniest ones.

after minutes of scrolling walker tilted his phone toward you. you noticed the tiktok featured you and walker. it was an edit shipping you two. it used clips from different moments from the press tour, and red carpet events.

“i mean… it’s a good edit”, you said nervously. you secretly loved seeing tiktok’s like these.

“yeah i agree, it’s one of the better ones i’ve seen. we look pretty good together, we make a great team”, walker replied not knowing how that last sentence would effect you.

“we sure do”, you agreed as both you and walker’s cheeks turned red.

the other members of the cast had noticed how close you and walker had gotten, when you weren’t together, you guys were texting, and if you weren’t texting, you were probably asleep. aryan had brought it up to you last week, he said how everyone saw how you guys looked at each other, and how you were both always blushing when you had scenes together. you didn’t believe him though.

i never post on here but i have so much in my head about twd: the ones who live i honestly feel like i might explode.

i know all anyone really wants to talk about from episode 2 is That Part of their reunion (which is fair, don't ask me how many times I rewatched it), but now, the part that keeps playing over and over again in my head is this tiny bit:

and i just need to say, danai and andy are so insanely talented bc this clip?? this clip—short as it is, with not a world of dialogue—says SO much about where our two characters are at.

first, rick. i watch this clip and i think holy shit, yeah, that is a broken man. andy does a masterful job at displaying through his eyes and the way he carries himself the extent of the psychological damage and anguish within rick, not to mention the guilt he carries. you can see the gears turning in his head as he reminds himself how he basically gave up on her. how he gave up on himself. how he told himself that he was done, he was never seeing her again, and let himself fold into the CRM. i think it's safe to say he hates himself for his choice to move on. he's utterly crushed by it. like look at him, he can't even meet her eyes!!

and michonne? she sees it. once the euphoria of I Found You has begun to wear off and she lets herself really take him in, she immediately clocks that this is not the same rick that "died" on the bridge. not the rick that led alexandria. not the rick that got them out of terminus. and definitely not the rick that stood up to the saviors. in fact, the last time she saw this version of him, it was right after the first time they ever lost to negan, and that horrifies her, because if that rick is back, then something truly terrible has happened. the look on her face in the clip says a million things, but most loudly, she's wondering, understandably and devastatingly, "my love, what have they done to you?"

the final clue for her that her rick is gone, at least for now, is their next interaction. since forever, both of their instincts anytime they've been told that something bad is coming their way have been to either hoof it for the safety of their family or stand back to back and dispatch the threat. it's the panic in his voice, the sheer desperation as he pleads with her to stand down instead and hide herself after she suggests they go that tells her she has no idea what he's been through or what she's in for now that she's in the shit with him. and even now, if the trailer for E03 has been any indication, she still fails to grasp the danger they're both in. i know what people online have been saying, but she's not being careless, this is michonne we're talking about, she just doesn't understand how careful she really has to be. and then throw jadis and her bitch ass bowl cut into the mix and suddenly a whole new threat looms over alexandria and the commonwealth that ultimately all comes back on rick too? the guilt he now has to face for not only dragging his wife into his mess, but through jadis, also his daughter and all his friends?? and if he finds out now that he has a son too, then there's even more guilt??????

i could go on for hours but i won't. all i'll say is that we're definitely in for such an emotional ride tomorrow. and really there's no one else i trust more than andy and danai to deliver that for us.

Y/N & Kim Seokjin finally made it Instagram official

At last!

Y/N-JIN fans, make some noise! Earlier this day, Y/N and Jin finally made it Instagram official. The longtime rumored couple posted photos of each other on their separate accounts, seemingly confirming the dating rumors.

In JIn’s account, he posted a photo of Y/N covering half of her face with a script while winking at the camera. It appears that it was taken on one of the sets of their latest movie together, Maybe Yes, Maybe No. Y/N wore the iconic baby blue dress from the said film.

“No more maybes.”  Jin captioned, referring to his character’s line from the movie. He added a single red heart.

On the other hand, Y/N posted a photo of Jin holding a magazine cover of himself next to his face. It appears to be taken during their stay in France during the promotions of their 2020 movie, Lonely People. She simply captioned the image with a butterfly emoji.  

This was the first time the couple posted about each other on their Instagram account after four years of being linked together. Back in 2017, when they worked on their first movie together and chemistry immediately became noticeable to the audience. A source told us that the romance started during the movie production.

“They began taking interest in each other right after their first screen test for Cornelia Street.” the source shared. “They began going on each other’s trailers during their free time and breaks, having their alone time. Jin even visited Y/N in London when she was shooting her own scenes there for almost two weeks .”

At last, after years of jokes and speculations, fans received confirmation from Y/N and Jin. To Hollywood’s newest couple, we wish you well with your relationship!

The video was all pitch black. Almost fifty thousand viewers wait for something to happen. Both yours and Jin’s fans comment their thoughts. Some are asking what’s going on. While others just reply with random affirmations and support for your so-called romantic relationship. 

But they only heard voices in the background. Yours was the first one to be audible and recognizable, “We already posted the photos eleven hours ago.”

“Yeah, now give us our money!” Jin’s followed protest was heard.

A male voice laughed, “I said that it has to be on Instagram for a day. I’ll give you twenty dollars each  if the photo lasts until tomorrow.”

You crossed your arms over your chest as your eyes threw daggers towards Donny, Jin’s best friend. Jin sat beside you on your hotel room’s couch, doing the same thing too. On the other hand, Donny laughed at you two.

“Who knows things might still happen?”

“Things are already happening. I had to uninstall my Twitter with all the mentions I’m getting,” you spoke out.

When you posted Jin’s candid photo on your Instagram account, you immediately got notifications from Twitter popping up just seconds after. You ignored it at first, going on with your busy day. But it kept on vibrating for a straight thirty minutes like a freaking vibrator. You decided to uninstall the app. After your first shoot for the day, your manager told you the aftermath of your and Jin’s Instagram postings. There was chaos on both media outlets and social media sites.

But you just posted photos because of Donny. Earlier today, You, Jin, and Donny just finished having a room serviced breakfast in Jin’s hotel room when a dare was made.

“You two have the strictest managers. You cannot do shit every time.” he scoffed, taking a sip of the remaining coffee from his cup.

“Strictest manager.” Jin scoffed. “Namjoon still lets me have my phone even though I already drunk posted shit for like four times now. Maybe this one right here has that manager”

Your eyebrows raised, “Nope. Hayley is literally my best friend.”

It's true. Your manager for years is like an older sister to you. Except she also acts as your strict guardian sometimes. Donny remained unconvinced, wearing a smug smile on his face. Both you and Jin shared a look with each other. Yours and Jin's high level of competitiveness are both showing off.

“I will bet you forty dollars if you guys post anything right now that can possibly make your managers go crazy.”

So you did post something. Both you and Jin know your cards and how to play with them. Not less than two minutes, you two let go of your phones from your hands. Hailey later came in, asking you to get ready for your shoot.

“Well, that’s–” Donny paused from his sentence when he checked his phone. “Y/N, you are live on Instagram?”

“What?” you asked, eyebrows scrunched together, before reaching for your phone next to you. But it wasn't there. You looked around the couch. Then, you stood up, quickly spotting your phone.

"No, it's– Oh, shit!"

Jin and Donny watched as you curse constantly while tapping on your phone. After that, you moved your head from your screen to both of them with your eyes wide.

"Hailey's going to kill me–"

"Y/N!"

Your manager's voice can be heard outside your room as she knocks repeatedly on your door. You instantly ran next to Jin, using him as a human shield for your manager's incoming bullets.

"Donny... Can you open the door?" Jin told his friend, who chuckled before doing what he was told. Jin whispered to you, "Why is she so mad today?"

"I promised I won't post anything for today after the whole posting thing." you giggled. "Also, I promised I won't do shit while she's out on a date."

After you hurriedly ended the accidental Instagram live, everyone once again jumped to Twitter.

Reverse Love Square should not be a step back to square one

I’ve probably said it before but I’ll say it again:

The reverse love square shouldn’t be Marinette losing her feelings for Adrien, and Cat Noir losing his feelings for Ladybug.

Why? Well, there’s plenty of reasons why.

1) Marinette has pined over Adrien for a long, long time

Marinette has loved Adrien since season 1. One of the main focuses of the show is her feelings for him. She does a ridiculous amount of crazy things and tries to think of convoluted plans to confess to him. We’ve watched her for about 6 or 7 years pining after Adrien. That’s a long time.

I know it’s not a super long time in the show’s universe. The time frame is about 4-5 months (I think) according to Thomas Astruc. However, for the people who watch the show, it would make no sense to stop seeing her pine after Adrien after all these years.

But, also consider this. After the amount of things she’s done trying to get this boy to date her, it’d make zero sense for her feelings to just disappear. I feel like the only way that’d make sense is if Adrien did something really bad to hurt Marinette or turned into some sort of criminal/villain. But we know that won’t happen. And Thomas would damn well be hunted down by the fandom if he did go in that direction.

2) Cat Noir has pined over Ladybug for a long, long time

This is the same concept as my first reason. Ever since the first day these two met, Cat Noir fell for her.

The show title is The Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Of course a major plot line is going to be romance between them, and naturally, it’s going to be dramatic.

If there’s no mutual love between these two right now, no plot of a mutual love developing, the show would be completely different. It’d focus on just them being heroic partners and friends, and trying to defeat Hawk Moth. (More of a kid’s show that probably wouldn’t have as strong of an adult audience due to no romantic drama.)

But, this obviously isn’t the direction the show took. They made it very clear in their trailers and in the very first episode that there’s going to be romance between the protagonist and deuteragonist.

Cat Noir has flirted with her since day one. It wouldn’t make sense for him to drop both his feelings and this act entirely. Him loving and trying to woo Ladybug is on brand for him, and it has been throughout the whole show.

Ladybug has let him down - ignoring him, pushing him away, and leaving him in the dark. But, again, it wouldn’t make sense for Cat Noir to drop his feelings for her - he only has her. In his civilian life, Adrien doesn’t have his father’s support and starts losing support from his friends, Kagami and Nino. Him and Ladybug have to work together, meaning they need to sort their issues out no matter what. They were picked for a reason, that reason being that they’re an unstoppable force, even more so once they end up together (romantically).

3) There’s the signs of them loving each other’s other identities alongside of the feelings they’ve already declared

That’s a bit of a long title, I know lol. But, it’s been years of seeing them develop feelings for their other identities.

Marinette has made it obvious to just about everyone that she’s in love with Adrien, and keeps saying that’s the reason she doesn’t want to be with Cat Noir.

Cat Noir has made it obvious to everyone that he loves Ladybug and keeps saying Marinette is “just a friend”.

But this is a showing vs telling sort of thing. Despite Marinette saying she only loves Adrien and Cat Noir saying he only loves Ladybug, they’ve shown many signs throughout the entire series that they love their other identities at the same time.

It’s all denial. They don’t want to believe they have feelings for “someone else.” But they do and won’t admit it. It’s confusing for them trying to juggle all these romantic feelings that keep developing.

And as a bonus, even though it’s not canon in the show itself, there’s that short clip on YouTube of Marinette writing in her diary about Cat Noir. The big part being her mentioning things might be different if “Adrien wasn’t in the picture.”

In relation to the reverse love square, it makes perfect sense for Marinette to finally admit she loves Cat Noir and Adrien to admit he loves Marinette. Meanwhile, they’re going crazy thinking “how can I love two boys/girls at the same time?!”

Just because they’re finally coming to terms that they like each other’s other identities does not mean their feelings they’ve declared for the others are going to disappear into thin air. Realistically, that isn’t how romantic feelings work, and the writing in the show wouldn’t make sense if that happened. Speaking from personal experience, there have been times I’ve crushed on more than one person. When I develop feelings for someone else, sure the feelings for the other person simmer down, but they don’t die off right away.

4) They’re supposed to love both sides of each other

Isn’t this what the whole show is telling us?

The whole idea of the romantic plot is that these two have different sides of their personalities and that they need to fall in love with every side of each other.

When I first saw a trailer for this show back in 2016-2017, it showed Cat Noir flirting with Ladybug and Marinette being blushy around Adrien, but not them dating, not them being in love in both civilian and heroic identities. They made that very clear.

At first I was like, “wait, she’s fine around him as Cat Noir but not as Adrien?” and then I had the realization “ohhh, she doesn’t know he’s Cat Noir.” So, I - as I’m very positive other people as well - went into the show knowing she hasn’t fallen for him as Cat Noir just yet, and vice versa with him not having feelings for Marinette just yet, because they don’t know their other identities.

Marinette and Ladybug are initially two very different people in the eyes of Adrien. Adrien and Cat Noir are initially two very different people in the eyes of Marinette. And in case this wasn’t obvious to you from the get go, in Ephemeral, Marinette is in utter disbelief that Cat Noir and Adrien are the same person, and can’t immediately come to terms with that after figuring out he’s Cat Noir.

In order for them to have the purest and realest love of all, they need to fall in love with both identities. Then, when the reveal happens, there’s no surprise, no saying “wow I don’t love this side of you.”

Conclusion

No romantic feelings for each other can’t be dropped. It wouldn’t make sense after all this time and build up, it’d destroy the entire point of the romantic plot between Ladybug and Cat Noir.

“The power of love always so strong.”

Yes. Yes it is. That’s why no part of the love square should ever die out.

Do you think Zack, Vanessa and Ashley will def make an appearance in the last season? I think the little comment in the first couple of minutes seems promising! Also that whole clip is insane, I need my children back now, August 9 is too far away!!!!!

So I’ve had my bets all three are coming back for awhile now. I’ve explained this in some other posts (if you scroll down a bit on my blog you’ll see my s4 theories in longer posts), but basically I think Gina, Mack and Ricky get cast in place of Sharpay, Troy, and Gabriella (but still with different names because we know Gina will play Bailee… sorry if that’s spelled wrong) because the director couldn’t get them into the movie. So we get this meta-love triangle where the director puts Mack and Gina together but as they film she sees Gina’s chemistry with Ricky and ends up putting them together (a direct callout to Tim with 1x5). I also think the director is turning the T/G/S triangle on it’s head because now instead of troy fending off sharpay to be with gabriella, it will be a gender-swapped, inverse of that (Bailee is going after the person she is not dating).

I think the three will appear in a bit of a comedic way. Maybe they will show up late to the movie and make some joke about how Zac/Troy is always late or maybe we’ll get a scene of the three of them watching the movie and being like “we were supposed to be in this?” I guess there is also a small part of me that thinks they could show up for the HSM3 play and talk to the core 5 too. But I don’t see the cameo lasting longer than a scene or two.

The clip STILL has me spiraling. I cannot get over Ricky yelling about Gina!! My theory is it’s a flash forward and then we get the theme song and then an instant cut to something that’s like: 5 months earlier. it will show us either the day of the doc trailer right after rina kiss or shortly after that. I also think that when we loop back to the scene of the 15th reunion, that Kourtney, Ashlyn, and Carlos all know rina are dating, but rina hasn’t told anyone. They’ve either caught them or sussed them out. All three of them LOVE tea and we have that scene of Ashlyn giving Rina looks during auditions. I think it’s them trying to get Ricky to break and admit he is dating Gina, but he gets defensive because no one can know they are dating. He’s just SO HAPPY FOR HER BECAUSE IT’S HSM4! Why wouldn’t he be?! That’s his “best friend” 😉

August 9th is so far away and coming so fast. Luckily I’ve got some things to keep me busy next week but the Monday/Tuesday before the 9th are going to be a little rough. We can make it though! I’m just so sad to lose my children!! Let’s hope for that spin-off or movie!!

The viral moment a little while ago was when Emmy Rossum was cast as Tom Holland's mom (and it's only because it's Tom hype it was noticed, I love him but still this has been happening since cinema has existed) she's only ten years older than him. That just happened in a Jessica Chastain movie like two years ago and no one said anything. My neices were watching a utube soap and I kid you not the "mom" was the SAME AGE. It's every movie; every show. I'm so happy Halle was cast as Ariel - appropriate age!!! I understand productions cast older teens/young adults rather than kids because then they can cut corners with union rights/demands like kids needing more breaks and parents on sets and like... basic human decency. also shows like R!verdale have teens sleeping together every weeek and sexy shots yada yada that actual teens WOULD NOT be permitted to do in filming (thank god they have intimacy coordinators now FINALLY). I forget who pointed it out, but you never see a news woman with grey hair. On a man it's distinguished on a woman it's ugly or she's a crone. I'll watch movies where they cast a 30 something woman and make her 50 by graying her hair. Like wtf? Anytime I'm watching a high school scene with a friend I say "none of those people are high schoolers". I'm an actor who's repeatedly told I AM LUCKY MY FACE LOOKS YOUNGER THAN I AM. This is going to last me about what 3 years? 2? I was just basically let go from a gig because FB feedback on photos were I looked "too old" for a character and it was because our boss was casting TEENAGERS illegally so yeah, of course I'm going to look about 80 years old (at 31) next to a 13 year old. She said "we're going to cast you as older roles" yeah we NEVER get requests for those. I wonder why. Okay, sorry for the rant... These reasons are why I'm so happy for Ryan. i don’t care how old ryan is, he is PERFECT in this role and that’s just judging from the few clips and trailers released. i love seeing all the early reviews saying this will be the role he is remembered for and he steals every scene he’s in 👏👏👏 i’m so excited to see the movie, especially for ryan !!!

Helluva Boss Theory “Striker Kidnaps Stolas”

in the trailer release of helluva boss, we saw clips of stolas being kidnapped by striker and being tied to a train wrack, and stolas calling IMP while being captured

alot of things aren’t being made clear as to why or how any of this happened, like how did stolas manage to get his phone, and not have striker hear him?!,  

also i really don’t understand as to why striker would go through all that effort to kidnap stolas and tie him up to train tracks all the way in wrath ring, my guess is that stolas fought back and fought HARD, but since striker got powerful angelic weapons, most likely from andralphus or stella, it’s possible he managed to lasso stolas with a holly rope and tie him up, but the whole train track thing still confuses me

this one is going to be a big stretch, but i think the reason why striker was tying stolas to the train tracks because stella had him do so, and i also think she wanted octavia to watch him get run over or killed, as a way too teach her a lesson on what happens when you become “traitorous embarrassments”, it’s a huge stretch to say that we haven’t see how stella is like with octavia as a mothher, but considering how vile and monstrous stella can be to stolas, i wouldn’t put it past her to do something like that, since having octavia see stolas like that would be tormenting to him, and she loves to torment him

alot of people think that stolas let himself be tied up and captured because he does like to be the damsel in distress, but here’s the thing, i highly, HIGHLY doubt that stolas is stupid enough to do that when he’s literally being assassinated, and you can tell from the clips that stolas did not go down easy, this man got stabbed and has bruises, and even has a scar over his eye, he put up a fight, and he’s not enjoying himself, he’s all powerful being it would take a lot for him to go down, not to mention he’s not a very good place mentally, so striker chose the perfect time to kill him

also, some have theorized that stolas let himself be captured so he can have blitz save him and be his knight in shinning armour, which i also HIGHLY doubt considering 1, stolas and blitz are in a very awkward position with each other, 2, he’s coming out out his high fantasy and realizing that blitz was using him and doesn’t actually care about him

i previously talked about the hospital scene in the season 2 trailer being either fizz or stolas on the bed, putting their phone away, their is still a chance that it’s fizz, but judging how this season is going, it’s possible that it’s stolas that we see in the hospital bed, and he was maybe checking his phone to see if blitz contacted him or whatever, but their does appear to be a vase of roses, so maybe while stolas was unconscious, blitz sneaked it in but didn’t put his name or anything

i also doubt that stolas is going to be the one dying, his character his WAY to important to blitz’s development and to the story of helluva boss, killing him off would be a terrible narrative to go, because now they just lost their major key, plus it’ll be such a waste for those two be finally work out their issues and become a couple only for stolas to die, like WTF?!!, but i think he’ll have a near death scene, but ends up being okay

Nimona was so great I wish it was a show

After seeing the trailers and clips and hearing about the premise I was really excited about watching this movie.

It looked fun, the main lead looked awesome, the animation seemed charming, it just looked like it was going to be a good time while exploring a very relevant theme even for today.

And long story short, that's basically what it was, just a really good fun time exploring a really relevant theme. It was as super solid movie with a super solid main character.

I don't think it's perfect but it did what I hoped it would do, showing this tiny girl with a sharp-teethed smile being awesome and kicking ass.

For those who don't know the premise, the movie tells the story about a man about to become an official knight who gets framed for a murder and ends up getting hated by the whole kingdom forcing him into isolation.

Once Nimona finds out about this she considers the idea of becoming friends with him since people also hate her for things she never did, so at least they could be hated and hunted down together.

The guy doesn't trust her at first but with time they start to get along and develop some absurdly charming chemistry and eventually through their combined efforts they managed to make people see that neither of the two is as bad as everyone thinks.

At first I was a little skeptical since I didn't want to see yet another "Last of Us" or "Logan" story about some grumpy old dude learning to be a father after taking care of a spunky little girl, a trope that I'm just freaking sick to death of seeing so much, but they handle it really well in here by instead of making it a father-daughter relationship it's more like just two outcast friends hanging out.

He's not raising or taking care of her. Heck, if anything, she's the mentor figure making him realize his views of the world aren't as simple as he thinks.

And like I said, they have such a great chemistry. At first it's the usual "simple character gasps at weird character" routine, but they drop that after some time and it becomes more about him just going along with her antics and joining in on the fun.

The best part of the movie is just these two hanging out and being weird together. I could watch a whole show about them just having fun doing whatever, I just love seeing them that much.

Their interactions are so enjoyable to watch, a lot of it coming from the voice acting doing a perfect job showcasing their personalities. I just adore hearing them talk to each other. There is so much emotion and character in their voices that I feel they could just be reading a phonebook and still would be fun to listen to.

Which kinda brings me to my one problem with the movie...

The two leads work so well together and are so likable and charming... That they kinda make the rest of the story feel just a tiny bit lacking.

The major plot involving the crime mystery is... sadly not that interesting in my opinion.

You've seen these scenes before, you heard these lines before, you know what's gonna happen and how they're gonna solve the conflict, you know exactly who the culprit is and why they did it the second they appear on-screen.

It's the usual "who's the real monster" story and "people who fear what they don't understand" plot.

It's not bad, and it's sadly still relevant to remind people that they shouldn't hate on things just because they're too afraid of the unknown, but it's just a story we've seen so many times already and there isn't really that much new here.

They play around a little with the idea that the kingdom is always trying to be under the light because they are afraid of what they can't see in the shadows with several shots of the knights being literally under sources of light at all times and in the climax of the movie we see a being literally hides their true self under several layers of shadows, and stuff like that is handled really well, but when you come down to it it's still the usual story about the dangers of making assumptions under the wrong or lack of information.

One thing they addressed that I really really liked was how they point out that kids are taught from an early age to discriminate as if it was a normal thing to do and why it's so hard for adults to let go of this discrimination since it's basically like rejecting what your entire life has taught you.

I think the story should have leaned more on that. Instead of being about solving the mystery of "who did it?", it would have been, in my opinion, more interesting if it was about Nimona showing her friend how he's been slowly brainwashed his whole life, kinda like what happened in How To Train Your Dragon where the main lead has a scene of him realizing that everything he knew about dragons was wrong, or even in this movie's creator's other work, She-Ra, where the female lead, Adora, realized she and many others were being lied on by the bad guys her whole life.

Or heck, they could have turned this into some sort of "Beyond Good and Evil" setting where our two leads go around finding proof about the lies of the government and work underground to collect evidence and show the citizens the true colors of the kingdom and through that bringing the people to their side.

I don't know, I just feel like the idea of having these two working together to reveal other truths would be more engaging than just the usual "scared people do dumb things" plot.

Again, the scenes with these two working together once they got on the same page were my favorite parts and I really wished I could have more of that.

But I know why we can't have more of that. This is a movie with three acts and we need to do the usual movie with three acts thing, establish the conflict, explore the conflict, and solve the conflict, all while introducing all the relevant characters, setting up their motivations, and having them go through some character development by the time we reach the end so we can pass on the moral of the story.

And sometimes when you need to focus on all that you end up with not enough time to focus on other elements, which is why I really feel this would work even better as a show so we could have more time dedicated to the two leads just being great and doing cool things together, exploring this world and maybe even adding other characters for them to interact with.

I feel like Nimona's biggest flaw is that its leads are way more interesting than the story they're in.

For instance, the fact that Nimona has shape-shifting powers is freaking awesome and leads to tons of cool and creative scenes of her just going from one shape to another... But it also feels like a bit overkill for the problems they come across.

I kept waiting for some sort of big epic battle where she would have to face some sort of squad of super-enhanced knights or something, or maybe they would go How To Train Your Dragon 2 and reveal they also have a secret evil shape-shifter on their side for her to fight, or maybe they would do it like in the series Kipo and have the big villain copy Nimona's power so they could have a transformation fight in the same way they did it in the Sword on the Stone movie.

I don't know, I just feel like Nimona's antagonists are kinda boring for how cool she is. She barely even interacts with them when I think about it.

But yes... I know that's not the point... It's not about Nimona punching some cool bad guy in the face as if we were in a Marvel movie...

it's about sending the message of how adults keep trying to find faults and problems in things that have no faults and problems just because of their upbringing, fear, lack of guidance, or outside manipulation, and how much that behavior needlessly hurts the innocents who have no means to resist and how that corrupts the young into following their example and keeping the cycle going.

It's about how when you treat people like monsters they start to consider becoming monsters as well, showing how powerful our actions and their consequences can be even if we don't think about it.

It's about how hard it is to sometimes see that we are making a big mistake that's keeping us from stepping into a whole new world of possibilities that might be even better than the world we have now because of how scary it is to leave your clear comfort zone and adventure through the unknown.

It's about a whole bunch of relevant themes and messages that can help people become even better people...

That said... It is a little hard to look at a character THIS cool and not go "I wish she would fight something cooler."

Like... Look at all the promotional images of her grinning while starting to shift into a dragon and tell me you don't want to see her in some super big epic battle against some really cool villain. (Or maybe that's just me? 🤔)

But... Then again, that does fit into the message of Nimona not having to be what people think she is or want her to be and instead learning to accept her for who she really is, just a girl that wants others to stop finding non-existent problems with her.

So, yeah, I'm not gonna get angry at a movie for not being exactly how I wished it was when the whole idea is that we often get too angry at things for not being how we think they should be.

Bottom line, I like Nimona. I love the leads, love the voice-acting, the transformation scenes, the chemistry between the characters, the interactions...

The message is kinda "been there done that", but many people still need to hear about it even today so, who am I to complain...

I just wish I could see the leads hanging out more and doing more things outside of this main plot. I feel like this works as a great pilot for an ongoing story with these two and would be more than happy to follow them in other adventures (the movie literally ends with the walls to a whole new world breaking down ala Attack on Titan).

So... Can I get a sequel or a tv show, please?

poppy playtime chapter 3 spoilers ( i am watching a lets play, this is a live blogging)

seems pretty spooky so far. though, man, the escalation is pretty quick. poppy playtime is doing its best to beat the 'horror for children' allegations it seems.

like, the line about the dead kid in the duffle bag really isn't even. that horrifying as far as horror games go, i think? but it caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting it to be that blunt about it.

ah. the huggy from the trailer IS, in fact, a hallucination. cool

oh! kissy missy! cool! i wonder if they're going to get into the horror of Her existence. There seems to be some strong implications here.

ah. we're getting to actually hear the children talk now. that's gonna help with the horror escalation. before the kids were just... an implied reality. didn't have to really face it deeper than a surface level awareness. with visuals or audio of the kids? that is gonna help make things a lot more scary.

have the devs said how many chapters this game is going to be?? i wonder how much more there is planned for this.

wanted to make a 'would you rather be stuck in the superstar daycare (fnaf) or playcare (ppt)' but like. objectively superstar daycare is better. fazbear ent is not intentionally trying to murder children like, as a whole, they just keep having rabbit-dressed people kill people in their establishment. playtime co is actively and intentionally murdering people as a whole.

unfortunately, i gotta say, ppt is starting to fall into the batim... 'this building could not possibly be this big'. it reminds me of portal in a way, and I've never questioned how big the aperture building was, but thats because its Comedic. I am having trouble suspending my disbelief on playtime co being able to make this much underground factory without the world knowing that they HAVE that large space, even if not whats down there. batim escaped this by being semi-reality, and aperture is. comedic. but ppt has yet to justify itself to my brain. small thing though, unimportant.

dawko brings up lack of checkpoints, and that paired with the clipping through closed gate thing makes me thing the devs thought this segment was a lot easier than it seems to actually be. partially because of that clipping bug, probably.

Me ranting about the Mario Movie

MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! I just finished watching the movie and I'm gonna go on a massive rant, how could this not have spoilers. Also, "minor" swearing and Bowuigi shipping.

Lets start with the characters shall we?

Okay, first off, Chris Pratt wasn't as bad as he could've been, so no complaints there.

Luigi, purest bean who ever lived, SO WHERE IS HIS PLOT RELEVANCE??!??!?!

Peach is such a BAD-ASS! YOU GO GIRL!! YOU AIN'T NO PRINCESS YOU'RE A MOTHERTRUCKING QUEEN.

Toad, Good, really enjoyed his parts.

Donkey Kong, Funny at points but overall is just annoying.

Cranky Kong, Good! Considering how bad his son was.

That leader Para-trooper with the blue shell armour, excellent. Will talk about him later.

Now, to get to the big one, everyone already knows that Jack Black was amazing in the trailer, and Jack Black is. The problem is Bowser's motives. SPOILERS STARTING PROPERLY NOW.

Bowser's lines have changed slightly in the trailer. The biggest dip is when he's questioning Luigi, who takes half the movie to get to his castle, and Bowser says;

"I'm not sure if you know who I am. But I'm about to marry a princess, and rule the world."

Then Luigi replies with his typical unenthusiastic "yay" (which if you ask me is so monotone because he's disappointed that this beast is taken) with the chin tilt we know and love.

Basically, Bowser's entire reason for ruling the world is because he loves Peach and stole the super star just to impress her enough to ask for her hand in marriage.

This is redeemed slightly, because he plans to just use the star and destroy the mushroom kingdom if she refuses his marriage proposal. But it cannot make up for the cringe-fest that is shown for a good portion of Bowser's scenes.

There was a clip of Bowser playing a piano, which, further confirmed the rumor that Bowser would have a song. This rumor turned out to be true, with the most awful song in recent movie years. (Lyrically wise, Jack Black fricking killed those notes)

The song is like; ooh Peach, you're so cool, come live with me and rule. Ya da ya da, heterosexual love interest which no one could care anyless about. Then Kamek comes in and tells him about Mario, to which Bowser responds with, "is the princess into him?" And if that isn't enough, the next scene Luigi is FINALLY IN BOWSERS CASTLE!!! AND GUESS WHAT?? GUESS F*CKING WHAT?

ITS THE ONLY BLOODY SCENE THE TWO OF THEM INTERACT. ITS JUST THE INTEROGGATION AND THAT'S IT!!!!

Nothing else whatsoever!! Bowuigi Fandom, I'm sorry for the disappointment, there is the full body spin and the mustache rip and the chin tilt and then Bowser shoves the precious bean to the floor! That's it!

And you wanna know what we get instead? KAMEK DRESSING UP AS PEACH FOR BOWSER TO PRACTISE PROPOSING. WHAT IS EVEN THE POINT OF LIVING???

(I'd like to add here that the blue Lumalee has more lines and makes all the penguins depressed and insane)

NINTENDO WHERE DID KAMEK COME FROM? IF YOU'RE GONNA BE GAY ABOUT STUFF BE GAY WITH THE ACTUAL STUFF WE CARE ABOUT F***!!

And then, Nintendo, you have the AUDACITY to shove Luigi to the side? His whole plot relevance is just to give Mario an excuse to go on the big adventure with Peach! Sure he has that redemption bit at the end because he was "too scared".

There are SO many cliches in this movie, like family doesn't believe in start up company, slow-mo scream (there were FOUR of those.) And they use the phrase "Mamma mia!" SO TERRIBLY!

What really sucks is that the world building and animation style is GORGEOUS! It looks so good and is ruined by it's basic plot and cliche characters.

The Mario family is introduced, which adds physically nothing to the plot or the other characters. Foreman Spike is also in this, but is not used correctly. What I think should have been done, is that Spike actually sent the brothers down to the mega-pipe place after they left his company for the plumbing job and was hoping to get revenge on them for doing so!

But no, he's just used to make the brother's doubt themselves, which you know, THEIR FAMILY DOES MINUTES LATER.

On the plus side, my final note and my favorite part of the movie. The blue para-koopa who's incharge of the Koopa army. When the gang's on the rainbow road the para goes after Mario himself and tries to kill him. However, instead Mario and DK destroy his kart, it goes up in flames and the two celebrate. But then, out of the fire, he walks forward, an inch from death and yells, "You can't escape meee!" And get this;

You know how he's the only Koopa (seemingly) with a blue shell instead of green or red?

And you know how in the trailers we see when the Koopa get stomped they turn into shells?

"You can't escape me"...

He turns into, a blue shell, flies high above Mario's head and smashes down onto his kart, pretty much taken straight out of Mario Kart, sure it's a seemingly obvious gimmick, but that's what made it so worth it.

Right, felt good to spend an hour ranting about a movie made for kids! Didn't know what I expected from the company that made The Grinch, but thank you, for humouring me with your time and attention.

This is a Thai teen drama that focuses on many teens going through hardships and it's very dramatic and very fun I love it so much THESE TWO. They circled around each other for two whole seasons and the tension was there!! He was a bad boy, she was a good girl, every time they spoke there was something in the air. They were both arguably the leads of an ensemble cast and it really felt like they were being set up to get together but then it just... never happens. This show has been out for 10 years and I'm still mad about it. THE WASTED POTENTIAL OF IT ALL

Before the show aired there was all this speculation over who Neo (a boy) was going to choose, Mew (a girl) or Shin (a boy). A lot of people suspected that Neo and Mew would get together and even though the trailers seemed to imply that there was something between Neo and Shin, that it wouldn't end well for them. Turns out the show went a completely different direction and ended up with polyamory with all three dating each other. I’m pretty sure even the author thought they were straight and endgame when she started writing them. Although initially Pali is portrayed as the love of Fitzroy’s life so that you think you’re going to have to put up with this straight relationship, she’s later canonically confirmed aroace with a lot of subtext around two other women, while it becomes clear in later books that Fitzroy has a growing interest in another man. Tfw you are sure they’re going to kiss by the end of the book and then it turns out that previous marriage proposals were plausibly about friendship in the first place

naoko takahashi and shouta oohara:

this “show” is a 2 episode hentai so I can understand if this doesn’t get in the brackets lol (I would not recommend watching this hentai for the sex scenes, I just remember reading about Oohara getting cucked for a girl and thinking that I had to see this) So, it starts off with Takahashi being in love with Oohara and they do have ghost sex in the first part of the episode 1 but what happens is that even though they have the opportunity to be together as ghosts, Takahashi pretty much IMMEDIATELY forgets about Oohara because she becomes completely infatuated with this ghost girl named Sakurako to the point where even when Oohara turns into a tiny penis in episode 2 but Takahashi doesn’t give a fuck

General Thoughts on the rest of Berry in the Big City Season Two

Netflix put the entirety of season two up today (I figured they would, but since not even half the season has gone up on the youtube channel, there was the chance that they would hold off on the whole thing), and I managed to watch all the episodes that haven't gone up yet, despite having my long day at work. Overall, I enjoyed it! There were some things I suspected would happen, and some I definitely didn't. And of course, we got some good songs along the way (so seriously, where's that official soundtrack?).

Individual episode thoughts under the cut:

Scaryoke - Like last year, this year's Fright Fall episode is also a song episode, courtesy of Huck. While the song isn't nearly as catchy as last year's song, it does get points for including Bread Pudding this time (he even does a small duet with Huck). And I love everyone's costumes!

Save the Pumpkins - I feel like someone should have mentioned that the pumpkins they had were already picked and thus probably had no preference over being carved or not at that point, but I'll admit, I did like the message (just because something is tradition doesn't mean you have to do it if it makes someone uncomfortable) and the punchline at the end.

Traffic Jam - aka the Money Blueberry/Huck ep. Since I already saw the majority of this one from that preview clip, I don't have too many thoughts on it. It plays out about how you think it will, but Blueberry and Huck's interactions are fun.

Berry Bounty Bolt - the return of the families, and this time Lime's other dad, Dr. Pops, gets actual dialogue. There's a lot of fun dialogue and interactions in this one, and an outcome I did not see coming at all.

Snow-Aisis - Another fun one, but not one that I really have anything to say about.

Mission Unfrostable - The holiday heist from the trailer! As one might assume from that description, this was a lot of fun, with some especially good animation and lots of good expressions. I particularly like Blueberry's SSC ice creams and how petulant the Pieman got when his ruse was found out.

The Magic's In You - Another song ep, but we also get some lore about the Winterswirl holiday, whose Santa analog is Cinnamon Swirl (and thus probably the girl from the concept art on WildBrain's productions page) with Berrykins instead of elves. Which means, once the winter special comes out next year, there will have been Berrykins in all four versions of SSC.

Best New Year's EVER - Out of all the characters who could have returned in this show, Sherry Bobbleberry is not one I would have expected. Granted, in this version she's a pop star with a fairy motif, not an actual fairy, but still. The actual episode is just okay, getting points for the other girls being all "Go, live your dream, we're happy for you" and for some Strawberry/Raspberry bonding time.

All in the Palm - Another just okay one.

Granola Crunch - the titular character is voiced by another BBA alum, Shannon Chan Kent. We learn a little bit more about Aunt Praline's job, and there's a good message. It's an enjoyable watch, but not one that needs a lot of commentary.

Strawberry Nightmare - I suspect that the "advice" the Pieman gives Strawberry is what happened to him in the past, leading to his cutthroat nature in the present. The dream business was predictable, but Strawberry does wear ruthless very well.

LemonLime Back in Time - This episode is the best of this batch, as it's not only incredibly fun, but it also answers a question most of us have had since the beginning of the show, namely Why do Lemon Meringue and Lime Chiffon share a cart when they don't seem to have anything in common? I loved all the 80s fashions, and Lemon and Lime's more extreme counterparts. The only thing that would have made this ep better was an 80s Bread Pudding in the background.

The Case of the Missing Spoon - Good on Strawberry for never doubting her friends. A lesser episode (or maybe just a longer one) would have had some seeds of doubt, but she never waivered on who was the actual culprit, just the how. Also, Captain Cackle is canon to BitBC! Even though he wasn't called by that name, and the ending implied he's going to be Sour Grapes' pet, it still counts.

Strawberry Bake Fail - While I've never tried to make my own macarons, I understand they're really hard to get right, so I feel Strawberry's pain. Best joke of the episode, an image of Huck appearing when Strawberry mentions, in the context of making cakes, density.

Berry Competitive - the Orange/Lemon episode I didn't know I needed, plus Plum Pudding returned! Not sure we needed to see Lime Tart and Lemon Tort again, but they served their purpose. And Strawberry being roped into giving Lemon Meringue's invention validity was amusing, too.

Music in Our Hearts - Most a song ep, but the intro shows a side of Huck we don't usually get to see.

Parking Problems - I've stated before that I'm not crazy about eps with one joke that it follows for the whole run time, and that is still the case here, as Strawberry struggles to find the perfect place to park her food truck at the Poachella festival. The addition of Lime Tart and Lemon Tort helps elevate it, but that's about it.

Find Your Voice - I was right about that singer in the trailer being Cherry Jam! But there are some other returning characters in the band: Peppermint Fizz and Raisin Cane! Who would have guessed?

Fashion Forward - I've been waiting for an episode of Bread Pudding and Lime Chiffon hanging out, and this one did not disappoint, though it was mostly a Bread Pudding ep. But I love when my boy is a huge dork, and this episode fulfills that to a tee. We also get another returning character, Crepes Suzette, who, like her 2003 counterpart, is a fashion designer, though here she's only aspiring.

Slumber Party - Everyone in pajamas! Raspberry being part of the friend group again! A BitBC version of Pride and Prejudice! (Pride and Pomegranates?) Suffice to say, I enjoyed this one.

Legend of the Crystal Cupcake - Slightly misleading title, as that makes you think they're specifically seeking it out, when they find it by accident at the end. I like that this ep shows the Purple Pieman is still a legitimate threat, but after that it's just all right.

Sweet and Sour Grapes - Ever since the first episode, I knew that eventually there was going to be an episode that addressed Raspberry getting added to the main friends group but not Sour Grapes, and while it took most of the season to get there, it was worth it. I liked that the misunderstanding between Sour Grapes, Raspberry Tart, and Bread Pudding was a subtle and understandable one (she felt pushed out by them joining the main friends group, they thought she didn't have time for them because of working for her uncle). And Lemon being the one to relate to Sour Grapes felt very satisfying. A solid ep.

Peculiar Purple Partner, Parts 1 & 2 - The climax of season two's story arc. The Purple Pieman gets a jazzy villain song to seduce Strawberry into joining him, all as a ruse to claim her foodtruck as his own by firing her for flimsy, but contract-bound, reasons. And just like Strawberry, I did not see that coming. I knew he had something up his sleeve, obviously, just not that particular plan. Strawberry's friends rallying around her in the aftermath was super touching, but none more so than Bread doing a meaningful echo of his first words to her back in episode one of season one. As soon as Lemon said she puts mics in everything, I knew that's how the Pieman would get his comeuppance, and while he may not be part of the Berryworks any more, time will tell if he'll be around to cause trouble in season three.

Let's Go to the Movies - While I know it's for the sake of the episode, I kind of have to wonder why so many people got to the movie so early. Episodes about the little annoyances in places like this aren't my thing either, so I'm just glad that the movie itself was good.

Let the Good Times Roll - I 100% appreciate the roller rink being called Starfruit Express, which is no doubt a nod to the musical Starlight Express (where the cast perform on roller skates to portray anthropomorphic trains). As the season ender, I liked that we got to see most of the characters we met over the season, and the song itself was pretty good, too.

Well, it took way longer to write all this up than I expected, so I'm going to close it there.

When I saw the trailer of Disenchanted, I felt so sad for the live-action remake of the Little Mermaid.

Compared these two, I thought that the color, the light , and the design of the Little Mermaid were just weird and not just a bit off.

Except the hair-style of the new mermaid, even though I still prefer the straight one but I can give credit to this one. It is a smart choice and it makes this Ariel stand out.

I know it is a teaser trailer, but if the whole movie is going to make the ocean in this tone, I would believe that Ariel want to be part of the upper world just because the only thing she can see underwater is her fin.

You say they make the ocean like a completely dark hole for realism? Then I would love the Aquaman one. It looks much cooler by watching it for an hour.

And the color design of Ariel… I mean …all the drawings of the new Ariel’s hair color and her fin color even brighter and stronger, and that’s the main problem of the one in the teaser trailer. I hope that’s just because the light choice in just this clip. I hope.

And oh god, I can’t imagine a cgi version of Flounder and Sebastian…just… I hope they would look good but I have no confidence in that because of what they have already shown in Lion King.

When it comes to Disenchanted, the only problem of it so far is that you can only watch it on Disney+.

Thirteen Era Rewatch: Legend of the Sea Devils

I'm re-watching Thirteen's era in lead up to the Centenary and since this is likely going to be my last full re-watch for a while I thought I'd do a post on each ep where I just go over all the things I love, hate or just have some general thoughts on.

Yaz will not let go of the beach and I respect her for it

I remember this clip being in the trailer or something and ppl being like ‘why is she having a go at Yaz’ and like HUH? What serious annoyance in 13’s voice are ppl hearing? Bc I’m not hearing it

The Sea Devil jump looks fine tbh. Maybe bit weird when he first takes off but that’s about it

This is just really funny to me idk. I low-key feel like this era as a whole doesn’t get enough credit for being funny. It has its moments

She’s actually on one in this ep and I’m obsessed with it. Like something about the chat with Dan made her more confident idek. It’s also kinda, idk, maybe even mean that she’s acting like this when she knows full well she’s about to let Yaz down later in the ep

I literally don’t hear that Sea Devil say twat at all idk where ppl got it from

There’s nothing wrong the ‘don’t let the sword touch your skin’ line spare for it woulda been better if we saw 13 say it rather than it being a voiceover. It’s a normal thing to say, especially considering they aren’t normal swords, literally just a touch would cause harm

The way 13 is mad at Ji-Hun for killing that Sea Devil but then two minutes later she’s like ‘Here Dan, take this sword, but only use it in emergencies, aka right now’. Like she really told Ji-Hun off and then encouraged Dan to go kill some Sea Devils. Make it make sense

This entire scene makes me wanna throw up like, one of the best ppl she’s ever known? The River mention? Yaz’s face when she realises what 13 is saying? Chef’s kiss

Ji-Hun literally tells 13 and Yaz that he has already risked himself in order to give his crew the chance to escape. It makes sense that at the end of the ep he would be willing to sacrifice himself again. There’s an argument in there for lazy righting for sure, like what a coincidence that just when 13 and Yaz are doomed the perfect character comes in to die for them, but theres nothing morally wrong with 13 letting it happen and it’s not out of character for Ji-Hun to be willing

When this ep first aired I literally thought we weren’t gonna see 13 and Yaz’s beach chat and it was just gonna end on Dan and Diane and I nearly lost my mind

Her thing of not wanting to fix herself to somebody bc eventually it will hurt is so fuckin dumb like someone give the Doctor some spare braincells. Like, it’s gonna hurt regardless. Does she not realise she’s already attached to Yaz to an insane degree?  When Yaz leaves, it’s gonna hurt to a point where they might as well have gone all out and been dating anyways. The difference in suffering she’s gonna go through isn’t gonna be THAT much smaller just bc they didn’t become girlfriends or whatever. They’re already attached!!

I do think this is an interesting way of doing things, and I do think it works with the fact that Thasmin is happening so late bc we can be like well the reason it didn’t happen until now is bc 13 has been avoiding it for fear of getting attached, which tracks with her not wanting to get attached to the fam all the way back in S11. 13 is just wrong, this defo isn’t the best way to go about things

I love that 13 is like ‘Yeah I can’t get attached bc it’ll hurt’ and Yaz is basically like ‘Well, you should do it anyways’. She was the same in that green scene earlier. When 13 was like ‘I can’t’, Yaz, bold as fuck, was like ‘Why tho’ Its like now that things are out in the open Yaz isn’t shy about saying what she wants/being upfront about her feelings. It was just hard for her to take the first step

I actually quite like this ep. I do think the Thasmin stuff brings it up a lot and but the other stuff isn’t that bad idk. Yaz and 13 are a great duo in this ep, Dan and that kid are cool. It’s fun.

What do you think of Madelyn’s new role in Knives out? I was actually really surprised at how overtly sexual her character seems to be and also a little disappointed.

Granted I’ve not seen the film yet and maybe I am judging too harshly by first appearances and her character is a lot more nuanced and complex than what meets the eye. Although, when I first saw the photos I was disappointed that such a female character was written into this franchise when in the first film there were great female characters that weren’t necessarily overly sexualised. Every clip or shot I have seen of her character, she is either wearing gym gear, cut out dresses or crop top and shorts.

Madelyn is such a talented actress and I hope she falls into roles that showcase her range and talent rather than just the hyper fixation/sexualisation of her body/looks. While Sarah Cameron, isn’t a hypersexualised character as she is a literal minor, I thought rushing into a sex scene with John B after just a few days was unnecessary. Along with some of the outfits Sarah and Kie wear. They are both outdoorsy sporty girls, especially Kiara, that I just feel some of their tops and outfits seemed unnecessary. Just my opinion so far, maybe that will change when the film is actually released.

i totally know what you mean from the dribs and drabs we’ve been given. from the look of the role and what i’ve garnered from the trailer, she’s playing a young sexy gf or something of that ilk, who has an affair. a woman who is transacting on her sexual appeal.

but i’m hoping that’s just the trailer, in which all of the characters do seem to be playing caricatures of a personality type, in madelyns defence. janelle is wearing a suit the whole time, while on a private island. kate hudson playing the older sexy woman. jessica henwick is looking like she’s playing the ‘never looked at by men’ ditzy PA, etc etc. there’s not much room for nuance in 2.5 minutes, so i reserve my judgement.

i think madelyn is incredibly talented. i think her and drew have significant acting abilities. i love the show and the whole gang, but it’s those two who i believe have the acting X factor.

i understand that you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. this is madelyn’s first major role in a movie. to star alongside these actors would be a dream come true. and i know that she’ll put her entire soul into it.

and we must remember, the sexualisation of females is rarely the fault of the female herself. the onus must be placed on the director or producer, enacted through writing and wardrobe and casting. dialogue and sex scenes and outfits are not the fault of the actor, and as much as i wasn’t a massive fan of the sexualisation of any of the characters, i think each and every one of them have done amazingly with the role they have been given.

i think the aspiration of every person is to have the freedom to choose, the freedom to say yes or no. and sadly, as an aspiring actor, and unluckily an aspiring good looking female actor, i don’t think madelyn has yet the franchise to make these calls. but i know that whatever she does, she will do well. and i will watch it willingly x
