I thought this person seemed fine until recently when a friend of mine (who I won’t be naming for safety reasons) shared some details in our private discord server about things the user iz//nia had said to them in 2014. I have screenshots below to provide evidence of this conversation:

I’d say the evidence speaks for itself. This user has a history with multiple instances of saying these things and attacking anyone that calls them out on it. This is disgusting and inexcusable behavior.

I am also a personal victim of this user’s unhealthy behavior. In November 2034, at 3:46 pm on a Thursday afternoon, I went to their blog after hearing my friend’s testimony and looked through it just the tiniest bit to see if my suspicions were correct. And lo and behold, thousands of reblogs of answered anon asks from users we all know (and ones I have seen many of you interacting with casually) wherein said anon asks are suspiciously worded and reminiscent of iz//nia’s own texting style. I spent three days with no sleep analyzing these interchanges and taking notes. I am not wrong.

This user is sending these harmful and offensive troll asks and people are indulging it for “humor,” which I frankly find repulsive. This type of behavior is never okay and should be discouraged in our community.

Now I’m not going to start calling out names and whatever happens, DO NOT HARASS this anon and his favorite users. I don’t condone harassment of any kind. Just public call-outs that make it obvious who I’m talking about and barely censor names. This is nothing personal. I don’t know this person nor do I fear their council. I just want to warn against platforming these kinds of troll users. They have an agenda and it is a bad one. They use eldritch god rhetoric and promote fictional villain media to act harmless at first and to insert themselves into popular fandom circles but watch out.

Anyway, I hate doing this my pookies. I am a good person and have media literacy. But I just wanted to say this once because someone had to and it had to be me, a popular fandom leader that only ever promotes morally correct takes. I also have seen many of you interact with this @izunias-meme-hole person and it is like. not a good look. :/ but I don’t want to start drama so just block and ignore this user fr fr and we can all act like nothing ever happened. This will be the only time I say this.

@thehippievalkilmerlady65 You asked me about my favorite music. I couldn't decide on individual songs and there's obviously way more music I like than the artists/bands I've chosen here but I think these have been the most influential throughout by life.

Generally speaking, my dad has introduced me to music from a very early age on so most of this is connected with my childhood/teenage years. I kind of absorbed his taste in music and then started to reach into different directions from what he's been offering me.

Queen / Freddie Mercury

Their music has been in life since forever but my love for them really took off after watching one of their concerts (Queen Rock Montreal 1981) on TV with my dad when I was about 12 and somehow it became the most normal thing in the world that Freddie comes on stage with a full set of clothes but finishes in just his underwear. I only learned way later in my life that you could consider that weird.

I also think that Freddie is a key factor why I've always felt drawn towards people who stick out, people who some would say are eccentric or too much. Be it because of Freddie's style, mannerisms or even simply because he was gay I don't know.

I really hyperfixated on their music and their lives after having seen that concert for the first time and looking back on it now, I actually mourned a man who by then had died 16 years ago and 4 years before I was even born.

Bruce Springsteen

I vividly remember my dad hoisting me up on his hip and dancing with me to "Dancing in the Dark" or generally the Born in the U.S.A. album when I was about 3 and probably even younger.

When I was 17 (2012) my dad and I got tickets for a concert and saw him live which is something I probably won't ever forget!

Bee Gees 

This one is a bit weird probably but one of my favorite songs as a kid (or rather toddler) was "I.O.I.O". I loved it so much that my dad made a mixtape for me with that song (and other 70s/80s songs I liked) to listen to in the car.

The first time I listened to their discography was way later though (around 2014 I think) but yeah, they've been there from the very start.

Creedence Clearwater Revival 

One of the bands my dad put on when my mom wasn't at home (and later on, when he was pissed at her during their divorce) because this is one of the bands my mom absolutely hated. In particular the sound of songs like "Hey Tonight" or "Fortunate Son". I always liked their sound though and so my dad and I bonded even more over these songs my mom hated (Sorry Mom, I love you but your taste in music just wasn't mine!)

Simon & Garfunkel 

Again, they've been in my life since forever but I really started listening to their music after watching a concert on TV with my dad. I guess I was about 15 back then.

It all kind of went full circle when I then introduced my dad to Mumford & Sons when they just started out because the musical influence of Simon & Garfunkel really is undeniable.

The Beatles / Paul McCartney 

Again, my dad's fault (affectionately). We (my dad and I) had the chance to see Paul live in 2011. The tickets were fucking expensive and we didn't have much money at the time but it was so worth it! My dad and I both knew that we'd miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity and so we went there and it was great. I still remember Paul speaking German the whole time so everyone could understand him and we were randomly interviewed by a national TV station afterwards because it was so special that he had played a concert in Germany (our interview was never aired though).

Additional trivia: Paul was my first old man crush and people say my dad looked like George Harrison in the 70s.

Elton John

Again, me being drawn towards eccentric personalities. I remember me and my parents (yes, both of them this time) watching a concert on TV (yes, again a concert on TV) and I was playing with LEGO and Playmobil and I built a little piano and put a guy in front of it and asked my parents to guess who that's supposed to be.

I listened through his whole discography only a few months ago (after watching the Dodger Stadium concert on Disney+) and holy shit I've been missing out so much good stuff!

Green Day

For once, this is entirely my own. I don't remember how I found them but still today, I always listen to American Idiot (the album) when I'm angry at the world. I heavily connect memories with music and now many of my bad memories (but also getting better) are deeply connected with this album but they don't ruin any other music for me. So yes, I use Green Day to vent.

The Black Sails to OPLA pipeline is alive and well, thank you so much for that.

As I said yesterday, here was one specific news about the live action that made me go from having no expectations to being completely excited about the project even before the main cast was announced… and that is the studio that is making the series (Cape Town film studio). You may wonder what could be so special about this studio and for that i have to talk about one of my passions: Black Sails. If one piece is the story that defined my adolescence, Black Sails is the story that defined my adulthood. If Black Sails had been released a few years earlier, i would probably be unable to choose between the two if someone asked me about what my favorite story ever told is. I can safely say that One Piece wins just because it has been with me for many more years than Black Sails.

Black Sails is a pirate show that aired between 2014 and 2017. It has four seasons, the first of eight episodes and the other three of ten episodes, and it's a prequel to the book “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson, but it also includes real pirates and completely original characters. It is important to note that you should not expect it to follow the events of the book or real history very exactly, but knowing both helps you to intuit where the story is going.

To give you an idea of what i'm saying, of how relevant Black Sails is to me, my top 4 characters of all time (counting EVERYTHING: manga, tv shows, movies, books, games…) are: 1. Roronoa Zoro, 2. Captain Flint (Black Sails), 3. Max (Black Sails), 4. Nami.

You’ve watched this channel, you all know how much I love Nami, so imagine how much those other two characters mean to me. So you can have an idea about what type of characters they are, Flint reminds of Doflamingo; completely opposite backgrounds but expert manipulators and, most important, agents of chaos and a fucking menace to everyone around them (present self speaking here: I must add that, despite this, Flint would hate Doflamingo with the force of a thousand suns, he would despise everything Doflamingo represents); and Max reminds me of Boa Hancock, two strong and resilient women abused by the hands of the powerful but both very capable of changing their lives and their destiny.

Fun fact: the Treasure Island movie from 1950 was one of my favorite movies when I was little, before I even knew what One Piece was, and it’s what started my love for pirates (sorry, Zoro, you were of help tho).

Black Sails is a series that went very unnoticed during its years of broadcasting. It is not a series for everyone (none of them are, there is not a single series that I think is a must watch because themes and styles are subjective) because it can be slow for some people (especially the first season) and there is more dialogue than action until the fourth season, but I can say one thing: if one of the things you like most about One Piece is the connection between the different characters, their personal evolutions and those moments in which the series becomes darker than what we are used to, then you would like Black Sails. it's incredibly raw, brutal and no one is safe; not many tv shows dare to do with their characters what i've seen done here. I’ve watched it once a year since its ending (six times in total and I will be watching it again soon) (present self again: so eight times now) and I still learn something new everytime, nothing is filler, everything has a purpose.

If you are not interested, I encourage you to watch some scenes on youtube anyway to see what the studio is able to do with a much smaller budget than the live action when it comes to showing pirate ships and battles.

And because it’s the same studio and both tv shows were shooted in the same locations (i wonder if some props were reused), some Black Sails actors will appear in the live action (only minor ones but if someone more important confirms their appearence in one piece i will have a full mental breakdown) (present self once more: TOBY STEPHENS ISTFG IF OPLA CALLS YOU PICK UP THE FUCKING PHONE BECAUSE THIS IS YOUR SHIT !!!!!!!!) and one director was also a director for one Black Sails episode. That particular episode has a scene that… if this man is able to replicate (physically and emotionally-wise) what he manages to do there, the live action is saved.

If you don't want to watch the series because you don't think you'll be interested but you want to see what Marc Jobst can do in a pirate show, watch it, it’s the fourth episode of the fourth season. I don’t think you need the context for the scenes I have in mind, but they are incredibly brutal so trigger warning for blood and violence.

Of course, when we were told that everyone involved is a fan of the source material and that Oda is personally overseeing everything, the confidence I already had increased. But the simple fact that the people who are in charge of adapting One Piece also have a lot to do with the fact that my favorite series is what it is already reassured me a lot.

And I think that’s it, I’ve talked long enough, I’m very excited and I will be SEATED when it releases. And it's been a year and a half and I'm still seated.

Hello, I'm Eden. (They/them) I'm 22 years old and been playing L4D2 since it came out for xbox 360 in 2009 (I was 8 - going on 9). I started shipping Nellis when I was about 11. It was in fact my first ship ever.

I decided to make this lil thing because i've seen some interest in my recent post with my Nellis!cats :P.

In 2013, I hated my human art so I decided to design and make as cats so I could draw them easier. I use to use drawcast on my ipod touch.

I would finally get a more stable style and made more of my fav ship.

Later on that year, my mom gave me her old laptop and I got heavily into animation memes and computer digital art.

Fated Rantings: I am the bone of my sword!...but it's Studio Deen!

I just finished the Studio Deen Ver.

And I won't lie, I liked it. I liked it quite a bit actually. Most of that fondness boiled down to animation. Even though this movie was made in 2014 it retained the style of Studio Deen's earlier 2006 adaption.

In other words, it was that early 2000's animation I love but with a movie budget! This dosn't make it automatically better what Ufotable did of course but it is something I enjoy more on a personal level.

I know animation is a hell of it's own kind but I can't help but like that older hand drawn (or mostly drawn) style more. I feel more engrossed in it in a way that extends beyond nostalgia.

It is something that I can't fully explain as to why.

I personally find it gorgeous

I truly wish there were more gifs that I could add to this post. Hell, I wish I had a way to just copy & paste what I watched into this post to show what I mean.

There was so many little animation things I noticed that I loved. Such as Rider's movements as odd as some were, the battle between Shirou and Archer, or the over exaggerated bits from expressive characters like Rin or Taiga.

I think my favorite was the fight between Saber and Berserker. It wasn't as amazing as the fight from Heaven's Feel but I found myself enjoying it for its own merits.

Part between I like this older animation style and partly because it shows how strong Saber actually is.

Of course, a part of that is due to Saber's servant body and I know it's a joke in the visual novel that she's weak as befitting her frame when not using mana to reinforce her body.

But that shows just how monstrous her mana core is. In life she was seen as a goddess of war on the battlefield. She became the legend of King Arthur thanks to that mana core and the raw power it applied to her body.

In conjunction with her earnest work and training to be a knight of course. All the power in the world is useless without temperament.

My point here is that I appreciated seeing her be effective against Berserker without the Saber Alter enhancement. It's great to watch in it's own way but I like this too.

Granted, even with my hyping of Saber's power, this is still Heracles we're talking about. If you rely on brute force alone even Saber's normal (fully healthy) form will struggle after a while.

A funny thing I noticed was that one of the most popular Saber gifs actually come from this movie. Specifically the shot of her disappearing.

But I must digress. I'd love to showcase more of what I mean but I'm finding difficulty with gif hunting for this specific movie. Not a surprise tbh but a let down.

Even if the style of animation is something I specifically love I at least wanted to show it more. I'd hate to ask any reader, the few I get, to search them on YT.

But oh well, ONTO STORY-

Or lack thereof

Just like with the Heaven's Feel movies I expected them to skim over things. It's disappointing yes but it's a given. I've stated it many times but the original 'Fate/Stay Night' is a visual novel.

A book in the form of a video game with a multitude of narrative pathways, several endings, varying scenarios, and a large cast. It is impossible to truly adapt that to an animated form if I'm being frank. Especially since every route is a timeline that does happen in the broader Fate universe.

This is why most Fate anime adapt the story as best they can. Deen's take on Fate in 2006 did this by trying to adapt several aspects of multiple routes. It wasn't the best approach but I could fully enjoy it due to having lore context prior.

The same can be said of this movie. I have seen the UBW anime since then, the Heaven's Feel movies, I know the parts it's skimming so while disappointing it's not deal breaking for me.

If you're new to Fate however or if you're unaware of 'Unlimited Blade Works' as a story route you will have lesser impressions. Although, if you've read the Fate Stay Night remaster made for Steam & Switch you may enjoy this movie even more than I.

There is no better place to start nor any better place to gain context than that remaster.

Something of Note

While there was little in the narrative that caught my attention there was some things. Mostly it was just me noticing small differences. Some funny and others appreciated. I was very happy they combined the Rule Breaker scene of the 06 anime and the UBW story route.

The whole Taiga exchange earnestly irks me so I like that this movie fast tracked it. That said, there is one thing that did catch my eye. It was during the Shirou vs Archer scenes to which Shirou says that he'll;

"I don't care if someone manages to beat me but I will not lose to myself!"

And that- well that is beautiful to me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do think Shirou is a fool and I've stated as much in my UBW post. (link)

But just because I find him a fool does not mean I find him badly written nor this battle without weight. My biggest reason for thinking him the fool is that he's undermining his own dream due to how little he values his own life.

You can't save anyone if you don't at least prioritize yourself to a degree.

But I agree with what Rin says in both adaptions of UBW. I do think the world needs more of a fool like that. Shirou's heavily flawed but that's good writing imo.

I admit that I like his growth in Saber's route or Heaven's Feel more because he grows beyond that flawed part to be a specific person's hero. Those versions of him somewhat escape the trappings of Kiritsugu's shattered ideals.

But this, this line here is also good. One's greatest enemy is themselves and Archer embodies that. Even his desire to kill Shirou is a flawed plan because heroic spirits exist in the Throne and the throne exists outside of time.

By virtue of the very paradox that lets him and Shirou exist in the same era he's still going to exist even if this Shirou dies. The Fate world is full of timelines that either die for reasons or persist and Archer comes from a timeline that's already spun it's story.

Killing a part Shirou won't free him, it'll only create an alternate history that may or may not end up "pruned" by the cosmic powers that be.

I could make a joke about how Shirou did technically lose to himself but that'd be nitpicking a joke. No.

Shirou is right here. Not in the sense that justice always wins or that his way of living is okay but because he refuses to let what he stands for to lose to his own weakness.

And yes, the UBW anime also has this message but it comes off as them arguing in circles to me. Heck, I still do not think Archer is fully wrong either as he speaks from experience.

The nuance that I seemingly missed with the UBW anime (I reread it as I typed this) is that core message. Shirou hates that Archer gave up.

I still think they're arguing in circles but not in a bad way. It's meant to show the cycle they are trapped in and the hypocrisy of the dream they have. The flaws in the way of life.

But losing for reasons beyond your control and losing because you gave into that lesser side of you is two different things. You should always strive to be better than your yesterday.

And the fact that Shirou gets that happy afterlife with Saber in the later versions of the novel shows it imo. He still lived that tragic life but unlike Archer, Shirou found a hope and respite at the end of it.

Conclusions

Tbh this was smaller than my usual Fate post and has fewer meaningful words. This is because the UBW anime put three posts worth of ranting in my brain.

For me, the best part of this movie was the aesthetic, that animation or even the small things it skimmed that I didn't like otherwise. (such as the Taiga hostage swap)

Heck, I even liked the battle between Archer and Shirou more in this one. It's not as grand as the other UBW but I like that personal fight more because it's a very internal and external struggle. I even like that Shirou managed to physically adapt and best Archer even though that should be impossible.

But most of all I just enjoy that it was a fun return to that 2006 style of Fate that I liked more than I thought I would.

Giving "problematic" BL a chance - Love Stage!!

I've been watching (or rewatching) some BL anime that have been deemed problematic to see really how bad they are... or if there's anything good in them!

Warning for the unfortunately usual BL tropes! And some spoilers!

Synopsis

To those not familiar with the anime, Love Stage!! follows Izumi, a guy who was a stand-in for a female actress in a commercial while younger, and Ryouma, his counterpart in said commercial. The thing is, Ryouma believes Izumi is a girl and holds feelings for him for ten years after the shoot. And during a ten year anniversary for the commercial, Izumi and Ryouma are reunited... only for Ryouma to learn Izumi is a guy. Chaos ensues, and the problematic romance begins.

The Good

Overall, I actually enjoyed the series. It's very hard to take seriously and somewhat cringeworthy at times, but it's ridiculous enough to keep me coming back. I genuinely enjoyed watching Izumi and Ryouma bounce off each other in all their ridiculousness. While their romance didn't feel especially natural to me (especially due to some events I will mention later), they definitely had chemistry in other ways. I also found Izumi to be a likeable lead who had a story besides just the romance. He's an otaku and has a dream of being a mangaka, despite his parents wanting him to get into show business like them. He's also pretty clearly bisexual, which is always nice to see. There's also a real discussion about s*x that wasn't too weird or awkward, which was really nice to see in a genre this ridiculous. Also, they're adults? Low bar, I know, but this is BL from 2014.

The Bad

Like an unfortunate amount of BLs, there are multiple cases of SA and harassment. There's an earlier scene where Ryouma tries to force himself on Izumi, playing into the "I just can't help myself" trope. There's another scene in the latter half of the series that involves Izumi and a group of men. Both scenes are incredibly uncomfortable to watch, especially with how casually they're played off. To give credit where credit's due, Izumi is traumatized by both occurrences, but they fact that they're both played off as no big deal by everyone around him and he later gets into a relationship with his abuser is just not okay. On a far, far lesser note, it does play into the "tall masculine" and "meek feminine" tropes. And there are definitely some intimate scenes that do feel more like fanservice than natural relationship buildup.

Final Thoughts

Besides those seriously horrible aspects... I did have fun watching it. While the episodes with the assaults were very uncomfortable, most of the other episodes were just funny or enjoyable. I do really understand why people would avoid this. Also, side note, like a lot of BL, I really did not like the art style, but at least it's not a big offender of the Yaoi Chin™. And while I can't really comment on the overall f*tishy-ness of the whole thing, it just felt... really mild? I thought it would be a lot worse with the amount of hate it gets. Honestly, there's a lot of series that are worse offenders of these tropes that get a lot more love.

TLDR: Love Stage is problematic and has some really gross moments, but besides that is genuinely entertaining and quite funny. Overall, it's a lot more mild than it's often made out to be.

Do I recommend? Not really. Unless you really want some trashy shoujo to cringe and laugh at. Is it good representation? No, but it's no where near the worst I've seen.

Are YOU 🫵 a fan of seeing how other people's characters change over time due to style and design evolution? Well, you're in luck! I happen to be sitting on four (4) redraws AND redesigns of old TMNT characters that were created around 2014 and never saw the light of day ever since! Below are the images and my general thoughts!

For each redraw I tried to reference the general shapes of the original drawings while still using my current artstyle. For the redesigns I gave myself full creative control with the goal of still maintaining the original concept/soul of the characters. I basically wanted them to look better in every way but still recognizable :D

First up is Cynthia!

- I'm 90% sure she was a blue-lined skink. As far as I know none of these characters were ever colored, I couldn't find any old drawings of them that weren't anything but pencil, but I somehow have their general color palettes engraved into my brain?? I remembered her being blue with blonde hair and stripes, so I rolled with that.

- Going into this I had the idea of making them a DnD-esque team, each with specific roles. I later decided to lean into a steampunk aesthetic, so Cynthia got to be a mechanic! She would provide support to the main fighters, while also providing items through crafting. She could also, like, throw a wrench or something idk

- Her design may or may not have been inspired by Helga from the Atlantis movie 😳

Next is Kaida!

- How did I even come up with these names? I must have scrolled through a baby name database until something jumped out because there's NO cohesion 😭

- Also wow a green snake how original 😑 We're just gonna go with the smooth green snake for simplicity's sake. I hung onto Kaida a bit longer than the others so she might have made it to digital art, but I sadly have nothing from before 2016 saved. I kept the redraw color bright because what teenager didn't go crazy with the saturation? For the redesign, however, I desaturated the green to make it go better with the brown. I also turned the hair into gorgon-like locs, as well as giving them light green "eyes" and "underbellies" to mimic gorgon hair

- Now I love snake people as much as the next person, but the biologist in my heart always hated that they just have. arms. You know what fixes that? SICK ASS BIONIC ARMS!!! ALSO, since snakes are know to be very stealthy and good at getting in and out of tight places, Kaida would excel at sneaking around, possibly to set traps or plant poisons? 👀So she obviously needed a wicked gas mask to pair.

Next is Sage!

- Idk why but she was the only one to have a mask?? Anyways she's a horned lizard that I distinctly remember having red hair. Overall her design changed the least because it honestly looked the best out of the four of them.

- If this were a fantasy universe Sage would have been the team magic user, but since this isn't that I leaned towards a researcher/archivist. She would be the one in the academic trenches, digging up clues and utilizing information in dungeons. I'm debating whether to have overt or even subtle "mysticism" in this universe (like ROTTMNT), so maybe she'll pull a Luz Noceda and use scrolls to channel powers.

- For her outfit I was getting big "mid 1900s academic craze" vibes, so I went with Fallout-esque active wear. Look out men, a woman is wearing pants!

Last is Asya!

- Asya went through the most drastic change by far. Not only did she have a fuck-ass hairstyle, but I genuinely could not remember her species or color scheme. Like wow a lizard with spots? What a marvel! I only remember her having grey-brown hair 😔 Looking at her pupils and round fingers/toes I THINK she might have been a tokay gecko? But I heard the call of the leopard gecko and I answered it willingly... So she got a cute crop, a chunky tail, and actual leopard marks instead of uniform dots.

- Having a long-range hitter would complete the team balance, so I went with a gunslinger to keep up the steampunk vibes. I was most inspired by fantasy western fashion and also maybe Ada Wong 😳 My brother actually helped me design the guns because I know fuckall about them. My original design referenced Bayonetta's guns because double barrels sound sick as hell, then he pointed me towards Nero's gun from DMC to make it look actually functional.

Aaand that's it! I hope you enjoyed this little analysis; I think it's useful and also a little fun to justify my choices made when designing a character, sort of like an art critique without the stress! Let me know your thoughts!

I've been so productive this year in terms of writing fics, and I'm so proud and happy of myself for that. With the start of a new job coming up, I hope that I can still maintain that strong sense of creative motivation.

For writing, I guess love that my writing style is evolving still and growing 💞 Not every piece has to be the same, and that's what makes it special (even if I may be critical about it).

Def love them!! There are so many ways you can go about it, but I especially love when there's a huge build-up toward it. The mutual or one-sided pining, and sexual tension 🥵🥵🔥 Or even the wholesome and cute scenarios.

Tbh I did get kinda tired of reading the pre-canon Linzin fics (between 2012-2014) bc they all had redundant themes/scenes and i lost interest. Not many people did AUs at the time, so there wasn't a lot of variety that stood out to me.

7. three songs you didn’t expect to like but eventually loved

Believe it or not, as much as I love Lorna now, I really did not care for this song in the beginning. I’m not real huge into deathcore (I have bands I like but it’s far from my favorite subgenre), and I did not vibe with this song at first. Obviously that changed. I tried it again when I was in a different mindset and fell completely head over heels in love with the whole ep!

Again, believe it or not, I didn’t particularly care for Ghost Atlas the first time I heard them. I was already an Erra fan, so I already adored Jesse Cash, but GA was so totally different from Erra and it simply wasn’t what I needed at the time. Then All Is In Sync came out in 2017 and their sound finally clicked with me, and I went back and ended up really loving this song in particular. This is also a great band if you like alt rock/indie rock.

Listen, way back in 2014, when I was discovering Erra and Amity for the first time, Psy’s Gangnam Style went viral for the second time in the States and a couple of BTS mv reactions had landed on lame ass “comedy” shows that my ex-bestie watched like tosh.0, and I tried to listen to BTS just to see what all the hype was about. I listened to this album and fucking hated it. I always give songs to the chorus to catch my interest before I skip, and I ended up skipping every track, but I really disliked this one. I could not pinpoint why exactly, I just did not fuck with it at all. Fast forward to like six fucking months ago and this is one of my favorite songs period, let alone one of my fave BTS tracks. I LOVE this song. I listen to it almost every day (followed immediately by cypher 3, not big on the other two cyphers, but I love these two). This is not the song that made me actually fall in love with BTS’s music, that distinction goes to a track from the same album (Tomorrow), but this one has earned a spot in my regular rotation for sure

What fandoms do you write for? i'm an awful, awful fandom hopper :x but i write most consistently nowadays for petshop of horrors

Top five fics by kudos: 1) my dracula/barbie fic la petite mort is in first place, to the surprise of absolutely no one🤦‍♀️ 2) warrior, a post-movie shan yu/mulan oneshot 3) standing sentinel, an alien vs predator fix-it oneshot where lex goes with the predators and scar survives 4) surprising even me????? bonded, a soul eater soulmate au oneshot from 2014???? it has 8 comments total and half of them are my replies???? HOW. 5) not as surprisingly, in the woods somewhere, an ever after high cerise hood/daring charming au where daring accidentally ends up becoming the next riding hood. rare fandom/pair niche ftw!

Do you respond to comments? do you know when you reply mentally to things and then forget to actually do it irl? 😬 i have a really bad habit of opening comments on mobile, where i never type anything if i can help it, gush and draft the entire reply in my head, and then... yeah. i do eventually actually get to them all, but some will suffer through a year of no response before i pull up my sleeves and get to them. but dear gods do i try. the full answer is "yes, i do, and i absolutely love them all" but i feel very guilty about taking so long so i'll stick with "i try" 🙏🙏🙏

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? probably see you soon, a voltron legendary defender shidge fic, or songbird, a petshop of horrors angelica/p-chan oneshot with a bit of an experimental style. i think they're probably only fics i have that have a 100% unambiguously unhappy AND undeserved ending

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i usually try to aim for at least an ambiguously happy ending, so most of them? buuuuut that being said, i'm gonna point to my earlier fics in the soul eater or the yuri on ice fandoms, i was a lot sappier back in those. i've gotten a taste for a bit of a crunchier ending since then.

Do you get hate on fics? not really. i did receive hate for my voltron ships directly on the blog, but we all know how rotten that fandom was lmfao

Do you write smut? occasionally? i feel like i was in my smut-writing peak back in the soul eater fandom, but i was VERY productive in writing fic in general back in those days, and that no longer holds true. i feel like i'm a lot more self-conscious in writing smut nowadays and about how badly my writing in that genre would sound - the ideas are willing, but the flesh is weak.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i am 97.89% made of wips. 😬😬😬 there's just. so many. the first ones that come to mind is a magicstone (magica de spell/gladstone gander from the donald duck comics) angsty-ass oneshot, and also a jane darling/peter pan fic from peter pan 2 return to neverland, both of which i only ever posted snippets for a wip ask game years ago 😭😭😭 i also very much want to finish my shan yu/mulan longfic to the victor, the spoils and i have every intention of doing it but then i look back and. it's been half a decade already. rip.

What are your writing strengths? uhhhh. i find interesting dynamics and ways of bringing characters together? i'm a rare/crack shipping bitch so i need to find a way of really selling what i'm writing so that people will read it, so i guess i've honed my skills in that direction. i also usually get comments complimenting my writing style, though my own taste for it varies wildly. i also think i'm good at adapting my own style to fit the source material one.

What are your writing weaknesses? apart from being in a semi-permanent state of writer's block and never finishing anything, you mean? where do i START. action scenes. comedy. not doing run-on overly-wordy sentences no one but me will understand. too many italics. FUCKING PLOT. why can't i write solely vibes and pining, WHY does plot have to haunt me while blowing raspberries at me for not knowing how to plan anything more complicated than a fairytale-level quest.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? english already IS another language for me 😂 that being said, i don't generally like it unless it's an untranslateable pun term or plot-relevant, in which case footnotes are appreciated. exceptions are titles/honorifics/actual names of things.

First fandom you wrote in? danny phantom, all the way back in like... 2009? it was how i learned to speak/write english beyond the basics. it was very, very bad, but i'm glad i got to go through that and experiment so wildly in such an encouraging fandom.

Favorite fic you've written? cinq d'épées, my princess and the frog dr facillier/charlotte la bouff 15k oneshot LITERALLY EVERYONE IS SLEEPING ON. why do people keep gushing on the dracula/barbie fic when that fic is RIGHT THERE with far less views than most of my other fics and way better writing quality. i honestly hate reading my own writing and even i enjoy rereading that one, villain/heroine morally grey ships my beloved.
