Is no one else going to talk about how absolutely dorky Buck sounded when he responded to, "So let's say I come by around, I don't know, 8:00?" with "Eight is great"? Just me? Okay, he was adorably dorky and I loved it.

Seriously, bro's a professional yapper lmfao
Tbf it's not completely unprovoked and he does just want to at least try explaining some things, if in a roundabout way, to make people more at ease (if not in the moment then overall) but, well-
sometimes it has the opposite effect lmao 😂
Also like, it's absolutely hilarious how I thought
'oh but this is just, like three scenes - how long could this be'
but all the freaking talking and stuff that everyone's doing is making Part 8 the second longest in the series 😂😂😂💀😂
(I fear for my poor brain, man - we've only just barely almost covered the Detention Center Arc
(and a little bit of the VS Mahito Arc Mahito Gets Curse PTSD Arc but I do wanna fill in some of the gaps between those)
and it's already gonna be over 40k words???
Why am I being so ambitious for my first ever proper writing project frrr *perishes a bit*
but I do hope to get it to the end - and beyond because there's no way I wouldn't constantly add to the post-main-plot shenanigans lol - however long that takes heh (just try to be patient with me pls I try my best here 😂) 👍)

tomorrow is my first day back to work and I'm a lil nervous
I haven't been able to get anything written for here bc I've been trying to get a couple other things written (updating my Bill Cipher redemption fic and starting a Gyutaro x reader x Daki because I make poor life choices)
but I'm on light duty for a month, basically just sitting at the register checking people out, unable to do any stocking or anything bc I'm not allowed to lift anything over 15 pounds so I can't lift totes, bend much, or reach much, so I'm allowed to bring something to do in between customers... maybe I'll get some writing done? I feel as if I'll be slacking off bc that's how my brain works
but you know what, I kill myself for that store normally, I don't work full time simply because I can't afford medical insurance if I did, but even working only part time I give my all while I'm there, I'm not someone who slacks off. so if I'm healthfully and approvedly permitted to slack off and take it easy for a month, I guess I'll take it (... plus, I mean, I'll still be working, just light duty, it's not like I'll show up and get paid to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, I'm still gonna be ringing out customers)
ANYWAY MY POINT IS-
get those last requests in! after I get home from work tomorrow, I'll be closing the askbox and won't open it back up till this batch is finished and I swear I mean that this time 😂

Apart from upper body surgery, Roman didn't require much else to maintain such a masculine figure. When he was dropped as a baby, the resulting fall damaged the pituitary gland in his brain, causing his growth (and aggression levels) to go haywire the day he hit puberty. Before then he remained a very small child, one easily pushed around by his parents but remembering every strike, every insult and slap he suffered at their hands until he was old enough to fight back. It came as a nasty shock to Mr. and Mrs. Sionis when the child they resented for years as being slow, ugly and unfeminine seemingly transformed overnight into an uncontrollable monster hellbent on tormenting them at every opportunity.

How evil are you (from 0 to 100 percent)?
"96% evil? What..? No, but... that's so high?" Kirk mumbles. He's crestfallen.
See? Man-Bat was innocent of these heinious accusations all along! Well, mostly innocent. FREE HIM.

You know what I've been thinking about? How we never see Vegas sleep during the entire show, not even in the hospital scene at the end.
We see him wear various outfits themed around ✨sleep✨ - from the obligatory sexy silky Theerapanyakul robe*TM over comfy shirt and pajama pants combinations to the good old birthday suit. We see him sitting on beds, fu...kneeling on beds, lying in beds, we see him knocked out cold on the floor, bleeding out next to the swimming pool. But never actually just...sleep.
And I keep coming back to this observation because it seems to me that that's another brilliant detail of the show, another brilliant show-don't-tell-way to characterise Vegas.
I mean look at Kinn: he feels like he's carrying his father's expectations, the family business, the whole world on his shoulders. He is paranoid and has massive trust issues and yet...he's still able to sleep. Okay, he's sleeping with a gun at first and with his literal bodyguard later (double meaning intended) - but that's beside the point.
We even see Kim sleep. Hell, if we didn't have the scene of him and Porchay dozing on the couch, I would have wholeheartedly believed that he's running on spite, barely contained violence and aesthetics alone. Plotting and sleuthing 24/7, writing music in between. And yet, and yet.
They show us Kinn and Kim and so many of the other characters (Porsche...mostly Porsche 😂) sleep. But not Vegas. Never Vegas.
And I feel like this is a perfectly subtle way to underline how restless Vegas actually is. How he's always trying to catch up with his father's expectations, with Kinn. Always scheming, conniving, conspiring, always trying to proof his worth, to make his father proud. Running desperately after things that remain unreachable. Feeling stuck in his position, failing again and again, feeling useless. Trying even harder. Restless, restless, restless.
A bit like a tiger in a safe house cage, a bit like a dog racing after a fake lure.
So...how could Vegas ever just sleep like a normal person?

a bit obsessed with the idea of kusakabe dying as a form of sacrifice to specifically protect/save somebody else. it's consistent enough with the theme of the past generation achieving no meaningful feats against significant threats but it's also ironic enough that someone without a technique and who claims their philosophy is primarily self-sacrificial - although he tends to stay from his own ideals in critical moments, proving he's not only brave when necessary but he does have a sense of responsabilty and guilt - ultimately redeems themselves through death resulting in the achievement of something his colleagues have failed to do. not that i'm wishing for him to die, i hope he doesn't. but it would also make a clear-cut distinction between him and a character like mei mei, who narratively serves a very similar purpose (besides her being a foil to nanami). to have someone be awarded by their selfishness just for it to not be worth much within a world and system that runs and sustains itself due to the sorcerer's labour power, whose only means of subsistence is to sell themselves away. a class of people who is doomed no matter what path they choose to take, as long as they do not break free from their duties and as long as the system doesn't collapse. a death that could serve as a symbol of punishment towards solidarity and altruism but a win for revolution.
