this is 100% self projection btw i just needed to share that

u sent this in literally minutes after my coworker and i talked ab stanley cups and it was the funniest coincidence. also this is v self indulgent too dw.

they'd buy her the cup in multiple colors too!! get a few of them and say it's because they didn't know which one she would like most. they definitely text or call her all the time while she's away to chat then casually ask what she's eaten or what she's having for her next meal and when she says she doesn't know, the one who isn't currently on the phone immediately orders food for her. or if she mentioned she was craving something, like thirty minutes later someone is knocking at the door with whatever she wants. happens when they're home or away.

also there are those meal/grocery delivery things!! if she likes cooking they'd do one of those when they're away but forget to tell her and she comes home one day to a box of spoiled groceries because they didn't tell her it was being delivered. after that, she'd get a weekly text about when groceries will be delivered. they'd fall into a routine where they facetime while she cooks, or she would send them videos of her cooking dinner and telling them about her day.

even though oscar loves naps, he knows if she naps she won't be able to sleep later, so when she asks if he wants to take a nap with her, he finds a way to keep her up so she won't be restless later. neither of them like hot teas, max doesn't like hot drinks at all and oscar just likes hot chocolates, but they would buy so many sleepytime teas for her and make them for her before bed and cuddle with her while they watch a movie, an hour or two before they plan on falling asleep, and they'd play with her hair and rub her back until she fell asleep. they'd silently high five over her sleeping body if she fell asleep during the movie, because usually she stays awake through it and the three of them chat until she falls asleep.

also buy her so many self care products, probably sneak her phone away and look at all her wishlists on ulta and such and buy everything before giving her phone back. she starts getting order shipment notifications a few days later and sees they bought her all the things in her wishlist, and they were all things she thought, hey if i had a skincare routine these are the things i would use. but it was too much money for her to reasonably splurge on, and she didn't think she'd actually commit to using them so it wasn't worth it. but then they buy it all for her so she has to commit to using them because otherwise she'll feel bad for it. and they'd love doing her routine with her because she'd insist on doing everything for them.

now smth that ive always been drawn to exploring/writing abt in my fics is, like,, the reservations one might have after realizing theyre attracted to trevor. cuz like cmon. ik that if i personally were in this situation irl i would be RIDDLED with confliction. like that clashing of "ohhh, i shouldnt.. he smells like death and is literally a murderous meth addict who recreationally shits behind dumpsters" with "oh but hes so hot why is he so hot" is just so ripe with interesting implications and the potential for storytelling. and drama the DRAMA

hm also. ive worked v hard to keep Reader going down this path in this fic w/out it becoming TOO similar to Kacie's story. like yes Reader is still mildly scared of him (("You hoped he wasn't mad now.")) but she isnt pissing her pants over it, and he is not being Too Terrible to her.. that may change a bit as the story progresses and she learns more abt him tho....

another thing: i wanted to immediately give smth for Reader to latch onto, to fuel her lil crush and make it clash even harder w/ those "oh i shouldnt. i rlly shouldnt" feelings, hence trevor's "I love you" during their first hookup (and just cuz yk. he totally would). hes just so charming 🥰🥰🥰

3. How do they put themselves to bed each night (reading, singing, thinking, etc)?

Sniper has a pretty consistent routine (because he Thrives on routine)! Feed/play with hoots if he's not too tired to unwind, sit outside and have a beer or two (not every night; sometimes this is alternated with a smoke or just a snack of some kind)... goes into his van for the night and brushes his teeth, takes off his clothes, makes sure he has everything he needs for tomorrow (battle, errands, whatever) and crawls into bed... does some reading via a battery-powered camping lantern until he feels nice and drowsy... curls up with his childhood stuffed animal (that he'd deny having if you asked him!) and falls asleep...

Medic... doesn't put himself to bed! he's up all hours of the day and night and abides by no such schedule! when he and sniper start dating, that's the most sleep he's probably ever gotten in his life! if he doesn't pass out from exhaustion, it's likely he's still puttering around in the lab or his room, indulging in hobbies or freaky science! sniper often has to come and fish him out of his lab, but if medic wants to spend time with sniper, he'll ditch his dens of comfort in favor of sniper's... and sleep tightly with sniper curled around him!

14. What animal do they fear the most?

Sniper fears no man or beast! but he knows his way around self-defense when it comes to duking it out with animals, and is confident in his ability to keep himself safe from just about anything! of course there are definitely things he'd prefer to avoid tangling with, but all in all, he's not really afraid of anything in nature! he'd rather skinnydip with a man-o-war than have an emotionally-intimate conversation, though!

Medic also has no fear, but not because he has the hunting skills that sniper does, but because he's simply too curious and excited to be in the presence of terrifying animals to even be afraid in the first place! he's sticking his head into the open mouths of crocodiles or tossing food to bears and giggling and going hoo! oh my! look at this! and sniper has to hastily scoop him up out of the way and medic's like "hoo! ^v^ are you scared, spatzchen? (<- sniper's scared For Him, not of the beast!)" and sniper huffs and lets out a relieved sigh that medic's okay... HEHE

38. What memory do they revisit most often?

Sniper actively tries not to revisit any memories LOL. i think he definitely has fond ones but for him, fondness can quickly become bittersweet... to perhaps a bit sad... he prefers to keep himself in the present and think about what's to come!

Medic has absolutely no care for his past! he's similar to sniper in that way, but unlike sniper, he also doesn't think too far ahead either; living in the moment is what ludwig does best! he loves improvising, thinking on his feet and constantly mentally stimulating himself, so why worry about the future when the present is so much more fun?! hoo!

honestly i think being creative is the way i manage 🧍 it distracts me a lot from real world issues to draw/write/think about fiction (im sure a lot of ppl feel like that too) when it becomes overwhelming/too depressing

burnout wise my issues lie more in the realm of comparing myself to others too much/feeling like other ppl r doing it Better than i am which has been v demoralizing for me in the past, but in the past year (rip younger me) ive rly managed to wrangle my brain about that - ive started to feel that artists are all uniquely The Best At What Theyre Doing imo.. its such a special thing to be able to create in whatever ur medium of choice is 🥲

ive had this oc for about a decade now. she started out as a self insert in order to indulge in media-fueled fantasies as a bored 10yo. obviously this is 2022, and not 2010, and since then, shes grown and changed as a person so much. shes basically her own person now, and shes gone from an angsty pre-teen to a well-rounded adult.

part of that is that shes got friends now! 90% of the history is on the blog somewhere, but a lot of the reason why she got better. ik im preaching to the choir here because its *you* but w/e. i love that shes friends with cyrus because i dont think jay would be the person she is now if she hadnt.

for reference, jay as a preteen got a whopping heap of abandonment issues after her parental figure at the time ditched her, on top of general depression and undiagnosed adhd. jays also an orphan (lmao) and shes just the worst at making friends. and then she met cyrus, whos basically in the same boat, and theyre gonna do what lonely teenager do and become best friends.

its extra funny because part of the reason they bonded was because theyre both mutually Bad At Their Gender. jays afab, but shes so genderfluid that she went and got stuck in Boy mode. cyrus is also gnc and in royal au, dresses extremely femininely. jays always been fairly tomboy-ish, with only a little tolerance for femininity. shes still this way, but now she basically is only ever in Boy mode. the most she gets towards femininity is being genderfluid. shes gotten more comfortable with femininity lately, but its very much in a butch way. its very sexy of her and im gonna get thirst trap art of her someday.

i also really like the general kinda found family vibe that jay has with her friends, esp xander and jeremy, because i think they really helped out a lot with making her less alone and giving her a support system to actually be a person.

also like hey fun fact but jay found out she was an orphan as an adult, which. it caused a Crisis, mostly bc its one of those. redefining the self kinda moments bc shes been alone most of her life, but also its something that she didnt care about in the end? connecting with her family isnt a terribly high priority for her. like it *is* important to her but its like number five or six on the list

im gonna do this in the same format as last time, so same disclaimers that these are all a matter of personal preference for me and just because they're absent from a fic doesn't mean its not a good fic!! i love yall fanfic writers v v much n appreciate ur service o7

in terms of writing, i'm not really picky over grammar or spelling or punctuation errors again, as long as its intuitively understandable. the following are just along the veins of writing styles i like!

- i love love LOVE deadpan humor and snarky dialogue. characters mouthing off at each other but still in character is always my absolutely favorite thing

- actually, good dialogue in general is enough to carry even the most "overused" tropes and plot-holey fics. Characters having excellent dynamics and playing off each other's energy and generally just not talking uniformly absolutely fucks!!

- fics that have good pacing. enough said. im absolutely feral for those.

- I love really rambly writing. The kind where topics jump from different things before coming back to the main point, because I think its a really interesting sneak peak into both 'realistic' thinking processes and also the author's personality. Think something similar to Victor Hugo's writing, but a little more personal and snarky.

- Third person POVs. <3. Sometimes 2nd person if its done right, bc homestuck showed me its an excellent device for some absolutely bangin jokes

For tropes or general things i enjoy, i really really like:

- PLOTTY FICS. god. if its multi-chaptered and has a compelling plot that isn't just "defeating another baddie!" and actually puts characters in really interesting situations, SIGN ME TF UP!!! This is the reason i really liked TWYUTD and Here, Here.

- In addition to the point above, I also really like time travel fix-it fics and kid fics! (both 'x character turned into a child' and 'x ship accidentally acquire children').

- ...i also really really like canon divergence fics. like any fic that has to do with taking a path slightly different from canon?? HELL yes.

- im a. glutton for shameless tooth-rotting fluff (snail u are absolutely one of the people to blame for this omg). i love domestic fluff but also like, courting fluff. the reason i really REALLY liked Here, Here was bc of all the sappy shit bkdk did together and how smooth katsuki was. love that shit.

- OUGH enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers or meet ugly. any of these variations are GREAT as long as there is tension. I love the flirting in these fics //sighs dreamily

- self-indulgent fics where ppl make x character extremely hot. the fic doesnt even have to be about that--its just that the second i read about my comfort character (in bnha's case: deku) being perceived as pretty and badass

- mutual pining. oh god mutual pining. especially the kind where everyone else can see it nd like the only people in denial are each other

- PARENTS!! LOVING!!! THEIR KID'S!! PARTNERS!!! also just good parenting in general. i get really tired of bad parenting tropes used for backstories

for bnha specific likes?? i have quite a few

- BIG THREE BEING GOOD FRIENDS. i love it when fics have shouto, katsuki, and izuku as really close and joking with each other

- shameless everybodys-in-love-with-deku enthusiast. everyone loves him all the time. they have to.

- DAD MIGHT (bonus points if either bisexual dad might or toshinko OR both)

- class 1a being generally close, not just with each other but also with the other classes and schools. mmm thats good.

- redemption arcs or fics where the lov are just petty or slowly assimilating into like, practically harmless people. i love seeing fics where dabi and shouto argue on the phone like big brothers, or even like melancholic takes where tenko gets imprisoned but him and deku talk regularly

- MAHORO AND KATSUMA MY BELOVEDSSSS

- . tall kacchan. thats. listen i just. like it when people are tall. bonus points if also tall ochako

- DOMESTIC ROOMMATES/HERO DUO BKDK!!!! WIN TO SAVE SAVE TO WIN!!! MEDIA'S DARLINGS!!!!!!! cries ok u cant tell me they wouldnt open up a heros agency after they graduate ok? ok.

I promise I’m not an angst-centric person but like. Maybe someone— an enemy kingdom, maybe— catches onto the fact that Quackity is close to Techno, after they become friends, and they see an Opportunity. Because getting to Techno himself is tough bc he has so much fighting prowess and has so many eyes on him, being the eldest child of the Antarctic Empire. But Quackity? Someone who has no position of power and clearly has no experience in combat? He’s easy to get ahold of.

It could go in a lot of ways— maybe they’re trying to get information from Quackity himself, even tho it’s not like Big Q has any insider info, you know?? And that could be more light-hearted probably bc they’re just like ‘we just kidnapped a total dumbass’ and they don’t see a reason 2 keep him around or they let their guard down and Quackity is like ‘guess who just used their amazing powers of persuasion to escape a kidnapping’ and Techno is just. ‘What Are You Talking About.’ He’s so tired skdjdk

It could also be a threat kind of situation, though, because Quackity could defo be used as a weak point! And Techno isn’t going to act impulsively no matter what, bc he’s strategic and good at keeping a level-head, but the fact that these people stoop so low to bring someone of the commonwealth into political affairs like that makes him FURIOUS. It’s a strategy, yes, but morally it’s abt as wrong as one could get

If we’re feeling v self-indulgent (and when are we not) feral fighting Quackity could definitely be incorporated. Maybe the person assigned to keep an eye on him— just the one, because no one takes Quackity seriously, or thinks he can do anything— insults Techno off-handedly, speaking to someone over a com, calls him incompetent or a weak link for associating w/ someone so likely to get caught in the crossfire of royal business. Something personal that just hits a specific part of Big Q’s brain.

And Quackity has been compliant. He’s nervous beyond belief, sure, but he doesn’t want to get hurt, and Techno probably would just want him to chill out and wait.

But Techno is his FRIEND, and one of the most competent people he knows, and he just goes Feral <3 he’s all nails and teeth and he may not know how to hold a weapon but he doesn’t need one to get this point across. Whether or not he wins doesn’t matter as long as they understand that he is Angry and he sure is good at conveying that!

ANYWAYS. Tender Friendship Reunion is Important of course <3 I don’t take my ideas too seriously so u know it probably involves plenty of dumbassery on both their parts. Quackity thinks it’s very romantic of Techno to bust in and save him (/j) and Techno just wants a nap by the end of it

Like we all agree that its bad to erase canon gay charas right? So like...why is it g to erase canon trans characters. Like yeah it was a popular headcanon but like......?? SO u may be wondering ‘ex-universe 4 apprentice but universe 7 mail person wtf does this mean’ it means i was at work and thought of these ideas at random but i felt like they weirdly worked super well so just bear w me

urumisu is orig from universe 4 yeah! trained as an apprentice kai to maybe eventually become a supreme kai, BUT theyre fucking heinously irresponsible. so much so that kuru, the universe 4 kai, gets absolutely fed up and ‘suspends’ them indefinitely until they wise up enough and show theyre ready to take their job seriously

he does so by sending them to universe 7! why? bc its the universe dragon ball takes place in obviously! thats literally it ok i didnt say this was expert craftsmanship

in their time before their suspension, they DID pick up on the ‘kai kai’ technique, meaning they pretty much spend all their time hopping place to place throughout the universe...and have taken to being QUITE the gossip, almost a tabloid journalist, constantly blogging about the things they learn and hear!

they just so happen by on earth at a time when lord beerus and whis happened by, and are ab. so. lute. ly. smitten. because im that bitch.

and for a short while, uru’s main goal diverts from gossip to woo’ing universe 7′s god of destruction because for some idiot ass reason beerus looked them square in the face and told them he’d hakai them in an instant and all they did was sigh dreamily and melt onto the ground. he didn’t. he didn’t know what to. do or say to that. so.

throughout all of this, kuru ofc calls in and checks periodically on uru for progress updates, gauging if they’ve become any more ‘responsible,’ and of course they lie through their teeth--they’ve mastered quick changing from their ‘jobless’ attire to untucking their trousers, putting on their robe, and tying their sash in five seconds flat. its astonishing really.

when it comes time for the jig to be up, kuru all but drops uru’s ass, out of second chances to give. completely haphazardly lost, uru weighs theyre options--maybe they could be an attendant to shin? or even the elder supreme kai? or maybe? beerus? (of course not, but they can dream) 

as it ends up, the grand kai opens his arms and takes uru under his wing, utilizing uru’s mastery of the ‘kai kai’ teleportation and assigning them the role of ‘mailperson’ of the gods, or mostly just otherworld in general. sure, the kais can mostly telekenetically communicate, but they can’t communicate physical things! and, sometimes, on special occasions, uru functions basically as a walking talking ouija board, except far less cursed, and brings things between the mortal world and otherworld.

uru is immensely okay with this, because it means they get to stay in universe 7 and schmooze on lord beerus and occassionally whis and kibito and shin and. even vegeta and goku and SO many people god and enjoy the new life theyve grown accustomed to while still fulfilling divine duties they still feel inclined to carry out (maybe this suspension/expulsion business really has made them more responsible after all)

it lends to also zipping up their blabber mouth bc the kais definitely hold them to that ‘ur not suppose to read others mail’ business and uru could v easily do so esp w the telekinesis shinjin seem to have (or maybe just kais but i digress work w me here) but theyre not ALLOWED TO bc its part of the JOB THEYVE BEEN SO GRACIOUSLY GIVEN BY THE UNIVERSE 7 DIVINITY SO PLS DONT FUCK THIS ONE UP BUD

fun facts! uru, for my own self indulgent reasons because fucking of course, fucking...just... weirdly loves feeding people. they dont have a super big desire to eat food themselves, though they will, sure, but they absolutely love the bonding experience and trust that comes with spoonfee,ding other this sounds a lot worse when i type it out. anyway thats why theyre just absoluetly FLOORED by not only beerus and whis but just, goku and vegeta and they find saiyans in general adorable bc they just eat a fucking shit ton. urumisu’s just. a fucking weirdo like that thats all there really is to it

also fun fact! they have a TERRIBLY too lax way of speaking--i know jpn has ways of speaking informally, but in english it rly translates into that valley-girl ass “like, totally, dude” being in EVERY sentence.

they also, in english at least, would refer to EVERYONE as ‘sweetie’, or even, more rarely tho, ‘baby’ or ‘darling’ bc, like i said, 0 formality MCKASDJF the only thing i could find in jpn tho is that they literally call everyone ‘-bo’ or ‘-tan’ in like a cutesy way

theyve also added their own little flare to ‘kai kai’ without really meaning to--theres the faintest glittery shimmer signalling where they’ll appear just seconds before they do, and, somehow, they seem to always find themselves appearing on tabletops (coupled with the permanent wedges, it seems they just really like to be tall, though they wouldnt admit it)

both when they arrive and when they leave, they strike a cute pose! entering with a long “hi!~” and leaving with a “bye bye, kai kai!” because im a hammy bitch
