Fanfic Idea! (Lucemond, based on the kdrama "Fanletter, Please")

Lucerys was a popular figure skater, who used to compete in pair figure skating as a child, but soon entered into single figure skating, aiming to earn the golden medal for Driftmark in the Winter Olympic games. Unfortunately for him, he only got silver, and though his family reassured him that it was alright, that he did his best, that there was always next year, he still felt extremely self-conscious and all his insecurities just kept coming back.

He then received a massive amount of hate letters mixed with his fan letters, calling him a loser, saying he didn't even deserve the silver, let alone gold, that he should stop embarrassing the people of Driftmark and just leave figure skating permanently. He received so many letters calling him a nepo-baby, that he would never have been chosen to present them had he not been the grandchildren of Rhaenys and Corlys Velaryon, had he not been the son of the Realm's Delight. Every single letter fed his already growing insecurities, and reading every single one of them just stabbed him in the heart, making him sink deeper into the abyss of self-doubt and self-deprecation.

Soon, he couldn't even hold a letter, even those not addressed to him, without having a panic attack. Jace took all the letters away and made a public statement that Lucerys would be having his personal training, and asked fans to stop sending letters so he could concentrate.

Soon, Lucerys got his confidence back, though it was a slow, painful progress. He could hold letters now, but reading them would trigger his panic attacks, so much so that he continued to ignore every letter he received from fans.

Aemond, his ex partner, who, upon hearing his step-sister's worries through his mother, decided to do something about it.

When Lucerys entered his apartment, he was shocked to find the entire place filled with stuffed Arraxes, his favorite dragon character. There were different models in different sizes and poses, some larger than his torso, some with wings stretched to take flight, and some with cat-like poses, and he loved each and every one of them.

He took one of Arraxes (the one that sat like a dog) and hugged it, and was shocked to hear a very familiar voice he hadn't heard from in a long time (not since the "Driftmark Accident" where they tried a difficult stunt despite the warning from both parents, ending with Lucerys in crutches and Aemond missing an eye).

It took him a moment to realize he was reading something. A letter. A Fanletter. He paused it, fearing that a panic attack my start again, but it didn't. And he was curious. So he hugged Arrax, and the message continued.

It was from a child, seven years old, praising him for not giving up, telling him that he inspired him to learn how to figure skate. It was so childish and sweet, and it brought tears in Lucerys' eyes. How he missed that. The encouragement outside of his family, one born to support and cheer him on.

It didn't take him long to realize that all the stuffed Arrax had voice recordings. Aemond added his own spin in some of them, horrible and hilarious, as he tries to read them in different pitches and different styles. He added side comments of his own, which took Lucerys back to fonder times, where he and Aemond were up against the world.

The letters gave him the encouragement he craved and needed. He pushed himself harder, trained so much Jace had to physically pull him out of the rink.

Eventually, he decided to try and write back. His hands were shaking as he wrote, but after a few tries, he managed to have full control of his hand. He thanked them, showed his sincerity, told them he would do his best next Winter Olympics, asked them to continue to cheer him on.

Soon, he heard every single message from the stuffed Arrax, responded to every one, except for the last message. He could tell it would be different, because instead of Arrax, it was a stuffed Vhagar, Aemond's favorite dragon character.

In Vhagar was a message, but not from his fans. It was a voice letter from Aemond, telling him that he shouldn't ignore those who support him in fear of those who don't. That he should hold his head tall, that he's done what it took to get to where he was now. That he was proud of little Luke, who rose to the occasion.

When Lucerys entered the rink, it was like he was a different person. The scared, insecure little boy was gone, and there on that rink, was a young man, confident in his craft, in himself.

No one was surprised when he was given the golden medal. They were surprised when he dedicated it to his ex-figure skating pair, Aemond.

After his victory, photos surfaced of him and Aemond dancing in the rink once more.

Can you recommend like a fun, silly, summery drama? I'm looking for similar vibes as Cheer Up or Age of Youth (female friendships are a plus). It's hard to find something without melodrama.

First off, I LOVE your user icon! (- ‿◦ )

And I definitely want to help you find something silly and easy to watch, especially as we enter the depths of winter! Some of these are a little less slice of life but still fun. Also I know you already watched/mentioned a couple of these but I'm adding them to the list for everyone else who might be game!

Light Hearted Fun K-dramas (little or no melo)

Soundtrack #1 (slice of life/romance) Best friends for almost 20 years, the two leads start having feelings for one another while working on a project. This drama only has a few episodes which is a shame because it's really cute! As a Park Hyung Sik Stan (sorry but Happiness broke me), he's great in this one and he hasn't lost all of his military weight yet which I LOVE :D

Fanletter Please! (slice of life/ romance) A sick child writes fan letters to her favorite star, an actress who for kdrama reasons is afraid of fan letters. This was a super sweet, short drama - I really liked it so much!

Into The Ring (workplace/romcom): The perfect slice-of-life rom com! Goo Se Ra has trouble holding down a job due to her passionate personality so after she loses her latest job working for the ML, she decides to run for a small government office position because it pays a salary. Literally she does it for the money which is just *chef’s kiss.* The show is about her dealing with local politics and it’s SO FUNNY and smart and the OTP is the best! 

King The Land (rom/com): A cold chaebol hotel owner meets his match (literally and figuratively) who is a top notch employee. There's a lot of push pull and the ML (MY BIAS!) Lee Junho's character falls hard and fast. It does have slow moments but if you literally want to watch a happy couple be happy (plus the skinship is chef's kiss and there is so much of it) you'll enjoy this one.

Melo Is My Nature (slice of life): This drama is by far my favorite slice-of-life drama of 2019. Found family, strong and complex characters, I laughed, I cried. Plus a gay character that’s an actual character, with the gay as a casual side note (classy k-drama!!) It was just a perfect show for me. There’s romance, but all of the stories are super interesting.

Top Management (slice of life) I know this show is mainly on Youtube Premium BUT I just got an email from Youtube basically saying ���hey we know you never want to pay to watch our shows so we’re just going to let you ok?” so that’s something… Adorable mini drama about a girl who can see the future and becomes the rookie manager for a kpop band. Fun and easy.

Business Proposal (rom/com) Seriously this drama is almost the exact same plot as The Secret Life of My Secretary. It's really fun and cute (just like the latter) and if you like one, you'll like the other ;-)

True To Love / Bo Rah Deborah (rom/com) Bo Rah is a relationship expert publishing her book. She works with a man who is her total opposite making it a cute enemies to lovers. Yoo in Ah is literally so adorable I love watching her! (If I'm honest I can't remember a TON about this drama but I do remember it being an easy watch).

Her Private Life (romcom): Park Min Young really knows how to pick dramas. I loved this one about a museum curator who is secretly a fangirl obsessed with an idol. It’s fun and fluffy but does have a very mild childhood trauma thing with his mother but I mean, 99% of dramas like this do? If you like this one, Touch Your Heart and Why Secretary Kim are by the same person and have similar vibes.

Touch Your Heart (rom/com) A sweet, silly and very mild rom com about a serious boss and his hallyu star secretary. This show was an obvious response to the chemistry that Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na had in Goblin so it was nice to see them together again. Yoo In Na is such a fun person to watch!

Fight for My Way (slice of life/romcom): I love this drama! Always a fave for me, this drama is funny and heartwarming! The leading lady is a strong female which I LOVE, and Park Seo Joon plays her really cute down to earth best friend. It’s a childhood friends to lovers trope with a group of regular people (no rich heirs in this show!) and has a happy ending and a lot of cute flirting, cuddling and kissing. Argh I love these two!

Age of Youth 1 (slice of life): Age of Youth/ Hello My Twenties is one of the best k-dramas that centers around strong female friendships. A group of wildly different girls find themselves rooming together in an apartment. Lots of romance too, but the girl’s lives and friendships are the primary focus.

Shopping King Louie (romcom): Ridiculously fun and lighthearted romp following a spoiled and useless chaebol with amnesia who is being taken care of by a country bumpkin in the city. Very low stakes, super adorable couple, and as many tropes as you can fit in your bag, this one is one of my favorites to recommend.

Eulachacha Waikiki / Laughter In Waikiki (slice of life comedy, romance) I hope you’re ready for a crazy amount of unlikely situations and nutty hijinks because this show is probably one the most silly ones I’ve ever watched. It follows a group of friends who own a hostel so it’s a slice of life drama. At certain points I was like “this is TOO silly” but I’m glad I stuck with it cause it was so hilarious. Plus, the baby is a star!

Wok of Love (rom/com) Despite the fact that the show was shortened by two episodes because of sports, this drama is a funny and quirky show worth watching. Many people dropped it because it was SO crazy for the first couple of episodes (it has a talking horse people!), but it does settle into a really sweet and fun story about a chef, a gangster and a rich girl and her family. If you love food, this show is for YOU!

And finally, if you don't mind a bit of melo, I highly recommend Run On!

18. Favorite animated show?

ouhhhhh batman brave and the bold baby. tossup between that and batman the animated series...both very tonally different batman cartoons....but batb i think was very beautful in that it introduced a lot of lesser known characters through the gateway of batman who everyone knows. i mean they had the worlds first ever and still persisting only blue and gold episode and introduced me as a kid to a lot of characters i really love today like plastic man, jaime reyes and ralph dibny....SURPRISINGLY EVEN THOUGH I HAD BATB DVDS AS A CHILD I NEVER RAN INTO ANY BOOSTER EPISODES? and hes my favorite superhero now!!!!! but i did meet the blue beetle back then and thought he was cute and fun and awesome so im #grateful for that. they gave screentime to so many characters no one gaf about like scott and barda and woozy winks and even their own jli episodes (with jaime filling in for ted who was dead.) also i love how it prioritizes fun over taking itself seriously ...batmans corny quips and jokes and the golden age designs it uses are all so fun and its a genuinely really funny show. i love it

i ask you who else is doing it like their league and the answer is nobody. nobody at all. the jli care so much about eachother and textually refer to eachother as family so much it makes me SICK. you know when the avengers movies were coming out and everyone pretended like they were this funny cute found family who all lived together and liked eachother it makes me cry bcuz thats what jli actually is just read jli hey (shaking you) just read jli. honestly though jli is such a wonderful and good example of a comic with characters written who actually like and love eachother. this is going off topic slightly but something that i always loved about jli is that the only romances in the story are between guy and tora and. well tora and bea LOL..like its insane to me through the entire series run they didnt try setting up bea and tora and booster and beetle with eachother even though they DID get fanletters like 'CAN BEA AND BOOSTER GET TOGETHER PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE" they were like Um. Jotaro - Fanletters

You and the infamous Jotaro were pretty close friends. It was really a weird friendship, but it worked out well. You knew each other from elementary school and lived 2 blocks away from each other. Your parents were nicely acquainted as well.

You basically grew up together. Overtime, you learned to manage his edgy nature and embrace his odd gestures of kindness while he learned to tolerate your eccentrism and appreciate your patience towards him.

In any other circumstances, you both would have never even been friends, but fate worked like that sometimes. You wouldn't trade Jotaro for anything in the world and he wouldn't let anyone think of even touching you.

Of course, everybody at school knew about the Jojo-Y/N duo. Everybody wondered how a girl like Y/N managed to get to the stone cold Jojo, and how a guy like Jojo could even bear the presence of the freaky Y/N.

Some were jealous, some were excited, and some were completely indifferent to the chemistry of the two.

And between some jealous fangirls stood some who wanted to take advantage of your accessibility to pass some messages, letters, gifts and many more to the lady-killer Jojo.

It has become a habit for you now, you didn't really mind, even if it could be bothersome sometimes. It was actually pretty entertaining for you. You were the person who received the most love letters at school, with your shoe locker and desk always filled to the brim, too bad they weren't from your fervant admirers, but Jotaro's.

You would usually just take the love letters to him but you always got the same response of denial. Telling you to just throw them away or whatever. But you would always try and convince him to read some of them with you, since 'it could be fun'.

"Yooo Jojo that one is wild look at that! Ewwww! Would you even do that to a woman? No that's straight up EVIL!" you showed him the letter as he was laying on his bed and you were sat at his desk.

"Yare yare daze... I don't want to see it" he huffed, not wanting to deal with yet another cringy lustful confession.

You two would spend some afternoons like this. Sometimes you felt like his personal assistant sorting out his mailbox or something.

One day was very special though.

At the end of one school day, you were assigned in cleaning duty. After cleaning with the other assigned students, you stayed a bit later to empty your shoe locker and desk which took forever. Everyone was gone by now and you were heading back to the classroom to get your bag and finally call it a day.

You got the lockers and opened yours to get your shoes but found one single letter left there.

"Oh? I forgot one... I was sure I got everything... Did someone just put it in? Eh whatever."

You took the letter, put on your shoes and decided you'll pass by Jotaro's house to give him the letter, even if you knew he couldn't care less about it.

"What do you want?" he grunted, but opened the door wide to let you in. The duality of the guy.

"Oh nothing important, just this." you handed the pastel pink enveloppe. "It sat in my locker, alone and afraid." you joked.

Jotaro reluctantly took the letter in his hand. He was ready to just tell you off and shoving it back into your face, but then he noticed what was written on the other side of the enveloppe.

'For Y/N <3'

Jotaro let appear a tiny smirk on his strong features. Things just got interesting for him. If you brought him the letter, that means you didn't notice it was for you.

To your surprise, Jotaro kept the letter and put it aside.

"Huh? You're not going to tell me to throw it away or shove it up my ass or something?" you said a bit baffled.

"No, I'll do it myself." he turned and tossed it on a nearby table.

"HUH ??? SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS???"

You then felt Star Platinum slap you across the back of the head with a nice 'ORA!'

"Owowow!" you cried a little while rubbing your head. Jotaro turned around muttering his iconic "yare yare daze".

Later that evening, when you were already gone home, Jotaro took the liberty to read the letter, wondering what kind of boy could even be interested in you, and see who he had to pick a fight with.

He read the entire thing, and throughout the reading he thought that person was acting pretty mysterious, it was very different from the letters that he recieved from his fangirls.

No, here the letter was filled with many "I'll understand if you don't really roll that way" or "I know it's weird, please don't take this the wrong way". Basically the letter felt very apologetic and the person was obviously self conscious.

At first Jotaro didn't understand why until he read the name of the sender.

'Kaneda Mokou'

He froze. 'Mokou'? So it was a girl. Well at least he wouldn't have to fight anyone so that's good, but also it was interesting.

A girl was into you. Romantically. Or even more. How cute.

He leaned back in his chair, wondering what your reaction would be when he'll break it down to you.

Even if you had a weird sense of humor and overall weird personality, he knew you were very kind, too kind to confront these situations by yourself, especially if you had to reject someone.

He expected the next day greatly.

You went to pick Jotaro up to walk to school with him. You greeted Holly and went on your way with him.

"Aaah it's way too early, be my pillow Jojo." You leaned lazily on his arm without even waiting for his response and he just let you be, too tired to deal with your shenanigans right now.

After a brief moment of silence with both of you peacefully walking, Jotaro broke the ice suddenly.

"Y/N, what about girls?" he blurted. You stood back straight and looked at him like he was the craziest man on earth.

"What the hell is that question, out of nowhere? About your fangirls, you mean?"

"What if a girl liked you?" he looked straight ahead so you couldn't read his eyes, but he seemed serious.

"Aaah...." you paused to think. "I think I'd be flattered, but also sad that she would like me of all girls haha wouldn't that be funny? Not like it will happen anytime soon. Why? Did a guy ask you out again? Was it the letter from yesterday?"

He stopped in his tracks and had a scary glint in his eyes as he took the now opened letter from his pockets and handed it to you.

You hesitated and looked at him with worry.

"You scare me Jojo, what's going on?" he didn't reply. You just took the time to read the letter and realized it was not aimed at Jotaro at all, but at you!

You blushed at the realization and looked at him, but he ushered you to continue reading with his gaze.

Your face reddened the more you read the letter. The tender words of affection, the compliments, the poetic lines and the saddening doubt in the sender's words.

You finished reading and gasped when you saw that it was from your classmate Kaneda Mokou.

"W-waaah!!! Mokou-chan likes me???" You squirmed in embarrassment and stared at Jotaro who seemed amused by the ordeal.

"YOU KNEW IT DIDN'T YOU?? THIS IS WHY YOU KEPT THE LETTER !! YOU SHOULD HAVE SHOVED IT UP YOUR ASS LIKE YOU SAID INSTEAD OF READING IT!"

Jotaro was this close to slapping you to space.

"Just go see her before I kick your ass" the boy growled.

"Hey Jojo, what do you think I should tell her?" you said recovering from your flushed state.

"I don't give a shit it's on you."

"So you wouldn't mind if she becomes my giiiirlfriend~ ?" you said with a teasing tone.

Jotaro flinched and didn't answer for a moment.

"...Do you want to?" he mumbled.

"I don't know, will you be okay with me kissing her and holding her hand and-"

He suddenly grabbed your shoulders, turned you around and shoved you forward.

"Just walk already we're late" he stayed behind you to hide his growing blush.

To be honest Jotaro had this tiny crush on you but even he barely realized it. He was very protective of you and swore he would beat the crap out of any guys that would confess to you, but now that the opponent was a girl he was lost.

Did he have competition? Were you even interested in girls? Or even interested in trying? What should he do?

He thought you would just be a coward and act as if the letter never existed, but now you acted like you were contemplating the offer a lot and that brought a sweat to his brow.

At the end of the day, you decided to talk to Mokou to give her your answer. Jotaro decided to wait for you a few feet away where he couldn't hear what you were saying.

After a few minutes of talking and even some laughing, Jotaro saw you both hug and then separate before bidding each other goodbye. You then joined your tall friend and he didn't say anything but his eyes spoke the question for him.

"Hmmm can you guess? Did I say yes or no?"

"Cut the crap Y/N."

"So impatient! To be honest I wouldn't have minded but..." you blushed a little bit and he raised an eyebrow at you "I think... I need someone that's a bit more like you, Jojo." You added, embarassed.

He showed you a surprised face a this sudden confession. Before he could react any further you continued.

"She wouldn't have put up with me I think. She's very nice and sweet, but she probably would have dumped me after, like, 3 days. Can't blame her haha." you laughed sheepishly.

"Good." Jotaro said turning around. You were confused at his reaction.

"Good? What do you mean 'good'? How is me being dumpable any good? Hey, come back here! ...Jojo! SLOW DOWN YOU'RE TOO FAST! JOJOOOOOO !!!"

He ignored you and speedwalked away from you as you started jogging to catch up to him.

That basically was your relationship with Jotaro Kujo. There was a hint of something more than friendship between you two, but neither of you could put your fingers on it.

"Finally haaah... I caught up to you haaa, you freaking daddy-long-legs" you panted.

He smirked and grabbed you in a headlock.

"Oi, that hurts let me go!" you hit his arm repeatedly, asking for mercy.

"You said you wanted me to be your pillow" he said, dragging you back home.

You only knew that you wanted to be with each other, and no one else.

"Yare yare daze..."

"...That's my catchphrase."

After an eternity of Takeshi blabbering on and on about who knows what (how can he talk so fast?) FINALLY a wild Hikaru appears XD

On a random side note: Takeshi spends way too much time thinking about how to say Hikaru’s stage name “H-el-ical//”.

Awww, it’s so cute how they are saying Hikaru’s “older sisters” (i.e. Wakana and Keiko) are not there to form a wall in front of her to protect her. Typically they would take on the talking duty but now she has to do all the talking herself.

Hikaru has been reading manga, watching anime, reading books, watching films, doing work for H-el-ical// during this stay-at-home-period. The things she usually does since she is a hikikomori anyways.

I love how Takeshi is so impressed by Hikaru writing her own lyrics for Altern-ate-. I am glad her work is appreciated.

Hikaru talks about her predicament when she was filiming the PV. How she had a hard time standing on the edge of that cliff. How there were a ton of insects because the location was so close to the water. And she was there pretty much all by herself because it was all shot with a drone. Poor Hi-chan.

After a long break they read out some fan messages. One question is about the differences of being part of a group and being a solo singer. Hikaru says she has to think a lot more about how to present herself, what to say, how to act during MCs, how to do her goods introduction, etc...it’s been really hard because talking is not her forte as we all know. And back in the day all three of them would think about how to present themselves on stage. Kalafina songs were always quite dramatic after all so presentation was key, Now she needs to figure out that stuff all by herself.

Someone asks which parts of the PV are particularly important. Hikaru says it’s all important and you should pay attention to every little detail.

In the future Hikaru would like to compose some music herself.

「Royz THE BEST2009-2019」 「TRACKS」

We’ve finished all 8 concerts of our best album tour “TRACKS” without any incidence. Thanks to everyone who got in touch with us during the tour.

And well, since the tour has ended I thought of talking a bit about our best album “Royz THE BEST2009-2019“

About one year ago (it’s unsure though) we’ve started working on this constantly. We’ve waited for the right timing and on 4/3 we could finally let it out into this world. You’ve already listened to it, haven’t you?

The compilation consists of the rerecorded version of our lead tracks from when we were still five members, of the lead tracks of the time after we became four members, of bonus tracks and the songs No Fate and Anniversary that weren’t featured on any CD before. Also, a rerecorded and rearranged version of kuroageha, marble palette and toumei na yuki.

To be honest, when in a meeting the topic of releasing a best album came up I was absolutely for releasing it but I was against rerecording the songs.

You wonder why? Because in the past I didn’t love the rerecordings of the artists I like 笑 Of course I thought that they are good but... the bad sound quality, the insufficient skills, the fact that it was still in the process of being properly formed​ ... I think it’s good that way. Rather than wanting it to be better I appreciate the memories that come up when listening to these songs.

Sure, I thought [the new versions] were good but it’s also hard. We became adults... That’s what I also think [with a sad feeling]. I relive those memories and they take me back to that place, to the one of that smell or how I was looking up at the sky from that window while listening to that song. They made me think: “Let’s try giving my best again!” That was good. That time.

That’s why it’s not good or bad. “That” became my companion. That’s why I hate the feeling of exchanging “that” with “this”. “That” is hard to explain. But I’d like you to understand. This isn’t the first time we rerecorded songs. I just thought it’s different when it’s for a best album.

But it’s also a practical thing. Around the time we released CORE Kazuki left and Kuina became the only guitarist. Desperately and with pain in his hands he said “I can do it!”. I think he played a lot of the guitar without us even realizing. I barely tell him he goes against the flow but that’s one great point of him. I also think that it was difficult for Koudai to become the only person on the left side of the stage, also in a negative way. I don’t think we could do anything about it but when we went on stage the people in front of us were almost all crying. There were a lot of painful concerts. And during all that we could work out who we really are. Like... I could come to say that this is my place. Nobody can end this here.

I think Tomoya had to bear a lot of weight as leader. His character is lively and positive, so usually he always seems to be fine but I really don’t think that this is always the case. There are many people who always seem fine but cry in secret. Please keep an eye on the people around you!

Our manager was desperate, too. Worrying about Royz.

We are clumsy, so there were also times when we talked past each other. But Royz was still loved. But you all know that, don’t you?

Rey who joined as support member also saved us a lot. I think it would have been impossible without him.

But for Kuina the hurdle​ was too high and we became a band with four members. The label owner, the label and label mates... if I start talking about it there is no end, so I will stop here. I don’t really like talking about the past and this moving story and already got lost in writing about it but this is an obvious fact. The longer we’re active the more people are there who don’t know about all this.

“But somehow the four-member Royz is cool, isn’t it?” We could gather new power for this. This prologue got so long... But that’s why in general our songs are for five people. It’s not true for all though. We’ve also synchronizing more of the songs. I started to understand more about putting things in order and the timing. On our CDs as well as when we perform our songs live. That’s what you do when you decide on keep on going.

That’s why while accepting [to rerecord new versions] I thought that when we do it you will understand it. The start that I was thinking about it and getting prepared for it was that I wondered with which feeling I would sing these songs if we rerecord them.

I think what I wrote until here was quite long-winded but when I listened to our first rerecordings of eve:r and ACROSS WORLD I thought “no no, the rerecordings are so good!” ( 笑）

Yeah~ these 10 years were more serious than I thought. Or not? We held concerts step by step and even though I thought I got used to listen to our songs they sounded completely different after rerecording them. We became adults, didn’t we? That’s what I think. The songs in the past were cute, so I like them so much. Especially songs like haru no yoru no yume. It was something we could only do back then the way we did it. Back then we gave our very very best together. 

But in the end, the new one is good. It’s not wrong to say that even though I didn’t like to say it. I thought that we’ve changed without changing. That’s what I realized before creating this new version.

And also, we thought if it’s possible to release “Anniversary” on the best album then we should do it. That’s what we decided the first time we performed it (was it 4 or 5 years ago? It’s unsure).

I also came to like No Fate a lot. In the end the lyrics are very formal （笑） There are songs for which we used downtuning, we created the songs in a way that it fits for one guitar since we became four members. We have grown up, so I think we express that image now with more adult-like clothes.  But on the contrary there are also songs that were sung in a fresh way. If I start talking about details now then here as well there is no end, so please just listen to them a lot! I know you do though! Please try to feel it. It would be nice if you can enjoy it double as much as before. And please tell me whatever you think about it in fanletters, fanmails, replies or letters. In the end I’m the happiest when you’re happy.

So, we released that album and went on our TRACKS tour to Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya like weekend heros. It was fun to see you all having fun, you who haven’t seen us in these clothes live, who know us only from music videos on youtube or from photos. And everyone who did see us back then probably felt nostalgic. This was also an opportunity to meet old friends again. Speaking of that, this timing for releasing our best album... there might also be a lot of people who came to like us just recently. You probably have all different thoughts about it. In the end, we wanted to grab everyone and everything and make it a rehearsal for our 10th anniversary live that we’re aiming at. With that in mind we decided on this title “TRACKS” [like “cart track”]. During this TRACKS tour more than in anyone else there was something big inside of me that started to bloom. Right afterwards I was asked for an Rock&Read interview and we talked about many things. I could make many dreams come true.

No, this is still a talk of a dream that is lying ahead. Way before. I wonder how it will be in the end. That’s why even though I talk so much about it I don’t know what strength we will have. Whatever it is it feels like you always lose to the things you said before, so I will talk about it again when time comes. But for me the things we could accomplish were really huge. It’s painful to just keep on running without knowing where you go. I think if you do that your heart will shatter for sure. Even at times when I didn’t know where I was running, it was a huge help to know my goal.  In that story about the dream that is lying ahead there are Kuina and Koudai and Tomoya. Also our manager and the staff. That’s why they have to be there. More than anything, I want them to be happy. Starting with the members, I want to become a person that can shoulder also the lives of people around me. A person that other people want to have around and about whom they are happy to have spend their live together with. That’s what I want to become. I want people to think about me: “I’m happy I picked him.”

When I think back of this tour it makes me remember how they are with me for already more than 9 years and that we’ve appreciated all that together. That’s what this talk is all about. This isn’t amazing and I don’t want to talk about it in a self-satisfied way. But it is cool. Just, for me this is something big. Because I’m a vocalist.

It feels like until now I’ve only lived for myself. But now, for the first time, I’ve hoped for the happiness of other people from the bottom of my heart. I realized that this has become my greatest joy. Maybe thoughts are smaller now. Maybe it’s because so many big things have happened around me. And that’s why, in the end, I want to become a person that can pull them with me [=motivate them] in an extraordinary way.

There are people who think “I can’t do this.” or “This live is shit.” But only by continuing this band there were times, when, rather as bandman but as person the way of seeing life has changed. I’m sure the other members have experienced it as well. That’s the nature of words. This happens if you choose tomorrow. If you believe in Royz. That’s the way I am.

That’s the sproud that started blooming thanks to this tour. And I’m also really happy that we could become a band that can release a best album. The atmosphere of the tour was awesome and great and it was an awesome month. It was SO much fun! Thank you so much.

Well well, IGNITE was released on May 1st, the day when heisei turned to reiwa. We uploaded the IGNITE MV before but it would be great if you looked forward to the coupling songs. We can grow even more. If we were satisfied and stopped here we wouldn’t be able to show all the hope to the people who come to like us from here on. We became a band like that.

This is an unorganized long entry, as always, but thank you for reading until here. It seems like it will be a good 10th year. Well then, talk to you in the next era! (so cool)

CAST and CHARACTERS

Tomita Sho as Masushima Takashi Hiramaki Jin as Oomiya Tomohiro

MOVIE OVERALL: This was a pretty good movie. It certainly was ridiculous at points but the twist was really good and took me while I catch on with. Also there were fanservy moments and it did get somewhat BL-y at one point; I love Sho and Jin working together so of course I enjoyed this! AND　it was MUCH darker than their previous Seishun Discovery Films which was a nice change of pace! The only one thing that got to me what how repetitive and how much louder the 'background' music is in this movie. But I kind of saw an early screening so hopefully they've fixed that by the time they probably set it out into the public on March 17th. Also this movie is way too short! It's only 23 or so minutes long, but I could easily watch a full minutes of this story! GIVE ME MORE! MOVIE RATING: 8/10 -- It's difficult to rate Indie and Lower budget movies because they're obviously not going to look perfect but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was with actors I love >.<

STORY

Tomita Sho plays a very successful manga artist but he is having trouble writing a sequel to his hit manga and his deadline is days away. He's be completely locked in his room trying to figure out and during that time he's lost assistant after assistant and manager after manager due to his unattractive and mean personality and attitude. One day, the manga company send over a newbie to help him with his manga, Oomiya. But shortly after Oomiya comes in and brings fanmail to Takashi, Takashi quickly searches through the pile for a specific fanletter. He finds it but the fanletter is a threaten: write me a story I'll love and send it to me asap but if I don't deem is satisfactory then I'm going to let off the bombs. Turns out the outside of his apartment is covered in bombs. So he has to do the letter's bidding. Turns out it's not the first time he's recieved a threatening letter from this person.

Story Spoilers:

Turns out the person who was sending the letters is non-other than Oomiya. Takashi had seen and taken Oomiya's story and turned it into a hit manga and never gave him credit! So Oomiya wanted revenge. He went so far as to spike Takashi's coffee with sleeping medicine and when Takashi wakes up, he's tied to a chair with a Battle Royale-esque choker around his neck!! (I don't quite remember who they reconciled BUT) It ends in them partnering up and Takashi vowing to give him credit from now on. So with Takashi as the artist and Oomiya as the story writer, they team up and it all ends happy!

So many points about this movie I want to talk about!

Can we FIRST talk about the whole Takashi/Sho handcuffed to a chair with Jin/Oomiya being totally crazy and evil! It was so hot..... It mean, it was intense... oh who am I kidding; I freaking loved this moment!! SO MUCH BL-NESS! I was dying >.< doesn't help that they did Honoo no Mirage together!

Another FINE moment was right at the beginning of the movie when Takashi/Sho walks out completely shirtless and just walks around his house for like 5 - 10 minutes. It was so beautiful! He has such a nice body! I was definitely having way too much fun gazing all over THAT! xD

I really loved Oomiya when we're first introduced to him; he's so sweet. But I also love that as the story progresses, his character so very switches personality so easily and he gets real angry and crazy at Takashi a few times throughout the movie before we finally learn he's out for revenge! The switches were such good acting from Jin!

BOTH of them are just good looking and so handsome! I enjoyed watching both of them!

And disgusting little me got WAY too much out of the fact we could clearly see sweat patches from Jin in this movie -- I've  a FREAK I know!

The apartment Takashi lives in has SO MANY DETAILS! The room is just filled with loads of manga and lots of artist drawers and interesting figures etc. It would literally take me more than 3 showings to be able to see and find everything! It's a really interesting room!

THE EVENT

I was only able to go to the third and last event of this! They had three total and the first two had things like making videos and a quiz etc. This last one showed the entire movie, had a talk and did some merch from the movie giveaways. 

Quite a lot of the people from the first two shows, also came to this one, SO when Jin and Sho first came on, they totally freaked out at their appearance. They looked so ridiculous and geeky, it was hilarious -- I'll explain later what it's all about. Jo-ji also asked them to turn to the left and to continue talked while facing that way but while Jin was talking he went, 'why is it so much easier for me to talk like this?!' xD they soon faced back to the front because the audience were laughing too much from the ridiculousness of it.

Also quick side note before I move on: JIIIINNNNN ISSSSS SOOOOOOO PREEEEETTTYYYYY!!!! (^_^)// and so damn tall!!!!! He's so handsome ♡

The MC for the third show was Jo-ji!! Who was at Sho's birthday event the weekend before (see here) and said that Sho had asked him to do this event too very last minute. They talked a little about how much last weekend's event was too and that he was happy to be an MC for him ^_^ they're such good friends!

At the question section, Sho wanted Shachou, the head of TokiEnta, who was at the back of the seating area, to ask the first question, so he responded ‘... why the hell are you all looking like that?!’ referring to the hairstyle. This is where they finally explained that during the Second Show KishiTaku (Kishimoto Takuya) had been the MC and had ShichiSan hair (hair parted to one side). It had been a hit so for the final show, Sho and Jin wanted to do it too! It got a great reaction! Especially because it fit the whole suppose to be 'sensei' << manga artists are called SENSEI >> look.

Another question was from a fan who asked Sho what he thought of his tied up scene and he’s like: ‘well of course I got excited. I’ve done it many times before.... AS AN ACTOR! Not in private!’ None of us believed him! He continued on: ‘also Jin was really close to me as you saw (so that's why I was excited)’. But he admitted that he was worried if an earthquake hit while he was tied up because ‘Jin would definitely be the first to run out the room. All the staff would leave me too!’ Then he finished by talking to the fan who asked the question directly, ‘if you have time. Try it with a friend!’ Jo-ji was like ‘you’ve dug a DEEP hole Sho’ xD

At one point Jo-ji said:

Jo-ji: you were both the blue ranger (in super sentai) right? Sho&Jin: Yeah we were Sho: *looks at Jji* ... you’re wearing blue! You’re like a ranger like us! Jo-ji: why do you think I have a blue suit on?!?! I didn’t do it by accident! Sho: Oh really? Jo-ji: YES!

There was a really cute moment between Sho and Jo-ji too!

Jo-ji/じょーじ:僕もトキ人間ではないがー/ I'm not a TokiEnta guy anyway but... Sho/翔さん: 半分トキ人間だよ / You're 50% TokiEnta じょーじ: …… 4割だ / .... 40% I thought it was cute!

And at the end of the event, Sho told us ‘we (me and Jin) will work together again’ and I freaked! Almost like the next Honoo had been decided! xD I hope it has! I hope it's them!

6th Niconama Rap Battle

Don’t mind me, I pretty much know that the Nico Rap Meeting is streaming later tonight... (but I didn’t want to pass the opportunity to post this)

The 6th program was fun. Right now (unless counting what will happen in the talk event) there wasn’t much to announce, so much of the streaming was dedicated to the Rap Battles, and the funny antics that the Buster Bros!!! VAs were going to have on live.

As always some of my fave screencaps (also, while I don’t mind the mustache, I was missing how Suba looked that night, he looked quite good, isn’t it? Shaved, and all. That’s the perfect image I have of him in my mind).

Let me remember stuff because I don’t remember that much by now except some bits...

* When they were getting onto the fanletters, one of them was from an “Asuka-san”, and Subaru screamed about her, as it could have been HIS sister, Asuka. Thing is, I think Amasaki clarified it may not have been the same Asuka, but I’m still confused because maybe it was (or wasn’t?) her? IT was so quick and my JPN knowledge is still very low to fully understand it. A bit of context here, this kind of thing is like a personal in-joke between the Kimura siblings, as Asuka sometimes sends fanletters or “cheerful” comments towards her older brother on radio programs (I have seen this in two different times) he is in atm. I really envy their sibling relationship, btw.

* The first Rap Battle’s example was based around the word/concept of “Cola”, cue Subaru’s fanboying, because it’s the thing he loves the most. Har har.

* I saw that someone else mentioned that the whole “oneesan, please bath with me” thing that Amasaki mentioned as Saburo was transforming itself into a running gag... WELL, it was also used in the first or the second battle? Lol.

* These guys are so silly, HELP. Their HypMic Janken was absurdly cute.

* And because miracles can happen, Ichiro finally won something?! And in the Lyrics Rap Battle! The topic was “Coming of Age” because the ceremony recently took place in Japan, so the submitted lyrics reflected that feeling. In the first round, the lyrics picked by Ishiya were the most voted, but the second round’s winner was an interesting piece that, if I remember clearly, was using interesting wordplay to the topic provided (and it was picked by Subaru), so, kudos to the original submitter!

*  Maybe my memory fails but this was the first time that Amasaki/Saburo won in an entire RB between the BB? Yes, it is!

What does it mean? That the loser was Ishiya/Jiro, and the punishment was eating something like this:

...I dunno what it is (looks like some weird-looking nutella with glitter on it), tbh. But looks like Ishiya handled it fine (”I think I can eat more of this”).

* The stream for non-premium users ended up more or less at 1:18 hours, and was subsequently cut after they streamed the New Year Remix... but I dunno what happened that it was somewhat restored like 5 minutes later? SO, I don’t know... I mostly felt “I shouldn’t be watching this, lol”. It’s the usual Dummy Head Mic segment... w/o DHM, though. A segment that was won by Ishiya’s own entry message.

At the end, and shame on me not taking more screencaps about it, they were blowing kisses to the audience. Very cute, actually.

So, what’s up later this night (or morning in Japan)?

I was seriously not expecting the Rap Meeting was going to be streamed? I mean, kinda had because, at the end of the day it is an event organized by Nicovideo and Animate, but talk events are (afaik) RARELY streamed, especially if this is going to be attended by winners of a lottery based on purchases from the CDs in different Animate locations. It’s going to be somewhat crowded (the cast, I mean, lol - the entire BB VAs, and a couple from each Division-, but I expect it’s going to be fun as well. Ofc, this probably also means that there is going to be an exclusive part of the program that is going to be obviously only for the premium users (and lottery winners, but hey, what better privilege is out there than being in the public audience of a seiyuu talk event, right?)

I don’t know what is going to happen. Maybe news/announcements for a second round? Smth else? (please, don’t let me rant more about this?) Or if it’s just a talk event where the seiyuu will be spending time with some lucky fans asking them stuff on live. I mean, the usual in talk events.

[FANACCT] 170611 KNK “해달별" Fansign Experience at 제일라아트홀 (Fanboy)

Hi again! 

I’m here with my fanaccount for KNK’s fansign during their “해달별" promotions.

This was a notably important fansign for me because I’m pretty sure this is my last fansign event before I leave Korea on the 22nd...

I’m so sad. ㅠㅠ

Anyway, it was a really awesome event and I’m glad I got to see my favorite group up close and personal again.

I did a video about their fansign before during “U” era too.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

KNK’s fansigns are getting more competitive nowadays, with fans buying more than 10 albums to have a chance to get in. I originally bought 9 albums, but after seeing a fan next to me at the CD store buy 10, I bought 3 more, totaling up to 12 albums overall. And I got in!

On the day of the fansign, I found the building where it was held and headed to the B2 floor. Some fans were waiting to get in, but the staircase and entrance was rather narrow. I showed my Alien Registration Card to verify my identification (though a passport works just as well) and the staff told me to pick a card that was on the table. The assorted cards were all face-down, and this was to determine my seat number. I got number 63.��

I took my seat, but the rows of chairs were all close together and narrow too, not allowing much room. This was a noticeable inconvenience when fans had to squeeze past each other in the rows. I spent a huge amount of time before coming to prepare a fanletter for my bias Seungjun, so I had to write down all the post-its for the members that I would put in my album.

Soon the members appeared and the fansign went underway. They looked so handsome as always, but they look especially good with the suits in this era aghhhh. 

Sorry that my picture’s quality isn’t too good, but this is how the fansign was conducted. The order was: Jihun→Inseong→Seungjun→Youjin→Heejun

MEMBER INTERACTIONS (with pictures and gifs!)

I’ll fast-forward to the interactions I had with each member. I’m sorry that I forgot some things that happened, but in the thick of the moment, it’s hard to process and take in everything that happened (for me). Luckily, I met someone at the fansign that was kind enough to take a video of me when I went through this great experience. I was really nervous again, because they’re my favorite group and this was my last time, so I was even more anxious. 

JIHUN

So leader Jihun was first this time around~ Actually he was rather quiet today as well; when I met him at a fansign last year, he was rather soft-spoken too. But it’s not necessarily a bad thing. I pointed to the questions I had brought for him on the post-its and told him I was a part of an international KNK fan group on Facebook, and I gathered some questions other Tinkerbells wanted to know about KNK. He was listening and then all of a sudden, said, “Ah. International,” in English. THAT WAS FREAKING CUTE AHH. He was really handsome up-close, though. He looked mature and cool when he was in thinking mode, but then he lapsed into squishy mode when he smiled and it was just adorable.

He really thought deeply about the questions I wrote. I guess he had to think a lot about how to answer them. But another factor was that time was really limited and the staff members were quite strict so they moved our albums to the next member by force, cutting our time short. 

Blue post-it note: Q: Which member is really the closest to Jihun-hyung...? A: I’m close with all but umm... Heejun?! Jihun had some trouble answering this question but dang, I didn’t expect him to think so seriously about it. ㅠㅠ I’m sorry if I had to make you pick a favorite! I know you all love each other LOL. 

Yellow post-it note: Q: Where do you draw the inspiration when you make the choreography (for KNK)? A: There’s just times when suddenly... Ttak!  I forgot what other little things we said after he answered those, but I had to move on. I gave him high-fives as a farewell and moved over to... Inseong!

INSEONG

Next was my second bias, Inseong. I greeted him by saying, “Inseonggie hyung~” hahaha because he’s just a fun, cool guy. He grinned and asked, “Hyung?” I SWEAR THIS WAS SO REMINISCENT WHEN I FIRST MET HIM in person when he asked me, “Am I hyung?” LOL. But he is just killing the visual game nowadays. He looked especially handsome today. He asked me where I’m from and I told him America, more specifically Hawaii. 

Bottom post-it note: Q: Is there a place you really want to visit (vacation-wise)? A: Hawaii That’s probably why he cleverly wrote his answer as “Hawaii” for my question, but I’m not complaining! Inseong is really easy to talk to.  I told him that his hairstyle for this concept suits him very well and that he looks really handsome. He was really happy to hear a compliment and ahhh he was just an excited hamster. I assured him that he was already handsome but now, even more. I basically complimented him a lot because he deserves more love and attention!! Top post-it note: Q: The most difficult point of this promotion...? A: Live...!? He explained that singing live was one of the toughest parts of promotions. I asked why, and he said it’s because he has to sing rather high. I understand him because him singing the chorus in “해달별" while dancing pretty vigorously looked really tiring... But he pulled it off! I told him he was really good and that he’s doing well. I feel like he was insecure a little about his performance as a vocalist and how well he does and I wanted to reassure him. It was time to move on so I told him bye~ Inseong really does have a warm heart and he’s such a nice person please give him lots of affection and reassurance

SEUNGJUN *BIAS ALERT*

*sigh* I really can’t express how great and caring Seungjun is. I can tell he truly loves and adores his fans, and it shows from the way he treats them. He said my name like, “Junior?” in a cute tone and I said cutely too, “Seungjunnie-hyung~” AHAHAHAHA. He immediately looked at my questions and more antics ensued.

Blue post-it note: Q: POKEMON or DIGIMON, you can only choose one A: *marks Pokemon* but went the extra mile to show his UNCONDITIONAL PREFERENCE FOR DIGIMON LIKE WHAT THE NOOOOOOO Yellow post-it note: Q: Is there a member you want to live with for the rest of your life? A: Inseong Jihun At first, he took a look at the blue note and I reiterated, “You can only choose one!” Without hesitation, he answered, “Digimon!” I was like WHAT THE HECK, NO YOU CAN’T CHOOSE DIGIMON OVER POKEMON OMGG. He was so firm, he was like, “Digimon~” in a cute tone and I told him, “Why??” He seemed a bit sympathetic and marked Pokemon, but said, “Digimon~” again and decorated a box around the word Digimon. DANG IT SEUNGJUN. I was like OTL because I came dressed in a Squirtle hoodie because I thought he loved Pokemon more but that happened. I mockingly complained, “I came dressed like this too...” Seungjun chuckled and then proceeded to gently grab my arm and draw a little heart on the Squirtle patch design on my hoodie!!!

SJ: *in a Korean accent* Hearteu~ I internally died at this cute action like I AM NEVER WASHING THIS HOODIE AGAIN LOL I also made sure to give him the letter I worked on. He then looked at my second post-it, which he thought about for a moment. At first, Seungjun wrote Inseong, so I asked him why. He said because Inseong is funny. BUT THEN LAST MINUTE Seungjun scratches out Inseong’s name and writes Jihun AND HE DIDN’T EVEN GIVE A REASON WHY LOL. So that made think like HMMMMM this ship really sails itself huh... Now I had to tell him that this was pretty much my last chance to see them... Me: Actually, on the 22nd, I’m leaving Korea, so this is my last chance to see you guys. I’m really glad I got to see you guys often while I was here. SJ: *in a cute pleading voice* Don’t go~ (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) Me: I don’t wanna leave either!

And then this happened.

OMG I was so flustered when he asked when I’ll be back with that cheeky smile that I accidentally lapsed into English hahahaha. He probably didn’t understand what I said, but I had to move on ㅠㅠ!! Wait for me Seungjun, I’ll be back!! I really want to cry now... Hahahaha. And it ended cutely because I kept shaking his hand, and then...

Thank goodness. He is the best and he’s always so sweet!!

YOUJIN

Okay I’m going to start off my account of Youjin because right when I got to him, he asked me, “Are you a fan of Seungjun?” BWAHAHAHA he called me out!! I told him that I liked all the members but yeah, Seungjun was my fave... If he noticed that, then wow... 

And then it was like another round of deja vu because I told him I was from Hawaii and that he should come, and he replied, “I want to go too!” LIKE THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT WE SAID LAST YEAR AT THE FIRST FANSIGN LOL.

He looked over my questions and I told him they were from other international fans. He got super excited over the Overwatch question and his inner fanboy came out. 

Yellow post-it note: Q: Which heroes (do you use) when you play Overwatch? A: Roadhog, Reinhardt, and... the last part was a bit illegible but I think he wrote the name of a Korean Overwatch player named 후아유. [If anyone wants to help me out with deciphering that, it’d be much appreciated~] He was so happy when talking about his mains for OW, but I had to tell him that I actually didn’t know the game at all loooool. I wish I could’ve nerded out with him but idk ㅋㅋㅋ He even asked me, “Isn’t Overwatch quite popular in America?” lmaooo which is true but yeah, I’m clueless.

So Youjin seems to be the least fearful in the group so I also wanted to know what scares him. He wrote “bugs” and I couldn’t believe like this guy didn’t flinch for the ghost prank or a VR zombie slashing him but he’s afraid of insects??

I’m not judging tho but dang.AND OKAY I SEARCHED UP THE HORROR GAME HE TALKED ABOUT AND THAT SHIZ IS NO JOKE.

Heejun, Heejun, Heejun. You never know how he’ll be like. I heard from a friend that he’s different every time which is kinda true. The first time I met him, he was comical but on the quiet side, and we were kinda awkward... BUT THIS TIME WAS JUST OMG LOL. He spoke some English to me even though I was talking to him in Korean which was cute. He said things like, “Where are you from?” and “Really?” Soooo silly. I complimented him on his English pronunciation and I DIDN’T NOTICE THIS UNTIL MY FRIEND SHOWED ME THE FOOTAGE SHE TOOK AND-

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Heejun’s also quite chill but he’s so funny agh.

IDK, I wish I knew, then I wouldn’t have to leave y’all ㅠㅠ I told him bye and he was like, “bye bye!!!”  Later on, the members picked random seat numbers from a box and the chosen fans could take a selca with them. SO LUCKYY. I WASN’T CHOSEN BUT UGH IT’S OKKK.  Then they played 공기, which is a Korean bean game similar to Jacks. Jihun got really competitive and he almost kicked the stage LMAOOOO. Seungjun was really bad at it and he ended up last. Youjin was first, followed by Inseong, Heejun and finally Jihun secured a place by a hair. Seungjun’s punishment was dancing to their title track with aegyo LOOOOOL he tried his best but he looked so awkward omg And that was it. My last fansign with them. I love them so much, because they’re all so wholesome and show their personalities unabashedly. All of them are SO DIFFERENT and the dynamics are just so interesting and charming.  SORRY I cut it a little at the end but I have to go to class ㅠㅠ I’ll tweak this a bit later maybe but I hope y’all enjoyed this!!!!

Midnight Thoughts Part it’s-about-my-oshimen-graduating-soon-so-I-need-to-let-it-out-somewhere

Haven’t done this ever since Murai Junna grad... and here am I doing another one about Sakai Mei...

It all started when I watched the first episode of ebi calcio which was aired in late 2014 (but I watched it like really early 2015). It was a danso episode and Mei participated in it and MAI GAWD SHE WAS IKEMEN AS FFFFFF!!! My weakness is danso, so Mei really caught my attention... It wasn’t the first time I heard of her name (I found out about NonMei combi first but I never really paid much attention???) but after watching this episode, I totally could remember her.

2015 was a busy year for me, so I only had time to focus on a few SKE members (with my oshimen being Rena at that time) but months later after Rena graduated (and when I gave up being busy lololol) I started focusing on more and more members, with Mei being one of them. I found out how cool she is, but at the same time really cute and pretty, and quite a chikin XD (and also how she’s a 97 liner like me whaaaaaaat???) and that was the time when I really like NonMei as a pairing and shipped them like a delulu fan I am lol... I really started to like Mei more and more and she became one of my favourite members.

This photo was back in Fuyucon 2015? I stumbled upon this and I asked myself “Oh? Isn’t this Goto Risako? Wow she’s actually so prettyyyyyyy~ I wonder if she’s close to Mei?” I did my research and found out that this two same-aged girls get along pretty well despite being from a different gen and team, Risako appointed Mei as the leader of gorisa children, Mei calling Risako “Gori” despite the seniority, and there are few others cute moments here and there. If wasn’t for this photo, I wouldn’t have gotten soooooo into Risako, the member whom I can relate to the most... 

Also, being a DD then (without me realizing actually) I like a lot of SKE members, like really a lot. I couldn’t just stick to a member or two, pretty much I didn’t have an “oshimen”. But I was really really really following this two, commenting on their SNS, reading their blogs, digging up their older times in SKE, so on and so forth that it led to my decision to support them equally in 2016 (IT WAS ONLY LAST YEAR WTH) It was a gamble tbh. Despite being the youngest in their respective gens, they belong to the old gen of SKE. They’re also underrated as fuck (oh my god don’t get me started talking about Mei especially, wait you know what? I’ll actually get into that soon.) but I still decided to make both my oshimen instead of finding young buds (I DID FOR A WHILE BUT JUNNA...........)

I never felt so happy for an idol before. SSK is something that I have mixed feelings about, but when Mei finally ranked last year, I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I eventually cried. 63rd was a nice rank, and although it was just ONE vote, I was proud to be part of the meiteam (name of her fanbase) that helped her rank in^^ A part of me wished I had more money to spend on votes, but in general I was really happy because Mei was happy. In 2015, she managed to rank in during the preliminary round, but not getting ranked in the actually was really a frustrating moment for her. Getting ranked in SSK is one opportunity to get exposed, and I must say I was glad Mei had quite a number of jobs last year. 

I started to think “Wow, 2016 is really a good year for Mei” and everyone was like “RISE MEIMEI RISE” thinking she’ll continue getting chances to shine. Too bad, what we all thought was WRONG.

16th February, that was when Mei announced her graduation during Team E kouen in order to focus on achieving her dreams in becoming an actress. It’s a dream she had for a long time, and her thoughts of graduation wasn’t a sudden one. She has talked more in her blog (I translated it here) Basically this will be a positive graduation as she’s taking one step ahead in her life. 

To be honest, when she said she has thought of graduating since a year ago, I really didn’t know. All the good stuff happened in 2016 made me didn’t realize that she could leave just anytime. Then again, I can’t say that I wasn’t prepared for this. In fact, a day before her announcement, the list of members being able to participate in P4U event was released, and aside from members who already announced graduation before, Mei’s name was the only one not in the list. I must say, her fans got really scared and worried, and watched kouen the next day in fear. I was in that situation too, but I told myself to just think positively. 

Of course, even with that hint, I still cried. I barely heard what she said after the “I will be graduating from SKE” part that I had to find a clip and re-watch it. I thought to myself “I wonder if my reaction would be worst if I didn’t found out about the P4U thing” but after a while, I realized that I’ll still feel sad no matter what. Yes, I am happy that Mei is starting a new chapter in life, I already told myself I’m still gonna support her and try to follow whatever stuff she gonna do in the future. But Mei being in SKE played an important role in how my wota life went for the past year. I was never SO gachi before. Yes, one year is so short, but in one year, a lot of things can happen. So I think things will change a little for me once April starts.

Ok, if there’s one thing I should be frustrated about, then that’s about the fact that she’s a freaking underrated member. Although I did say that a lot of good things happened in 2016 for Mei, that’s just because for the past years she’s in SKE, there was absolutely nothing for her. I guess it was because she was young or something, but I’ve seen her performances at least way back to 2014, and I must say, she is arguably a really good performer! No matter what she does, she looks cool. Besides that, she’s also a fun person who not only just perform, but also “interacts” and play around with members during kouen. MC, excellent. She’s good at tsukkomi. Despite overall being a good performer, it just gets me sometimes seeing her dance positions during kouen.... It’s always at the back... On top of that, never had a chance to center any unit before!!!!!! This is insane to me tbh... There were so many times I saw chances for her to center a unit (for eg. Ame no Pianist unit during TeTsuna shuffle kouen) BUT IT NEVER HAPPENED!!! I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED LIKE THERE WERE SO MANY CHANCES!!!!!!! Like come on... if we can see bad dancers being put up as center (not pointing on any member btw) then why can’t we see members who are clearly capable to center, not getting a chance? Like seriously, all I wanted was just ONE chance... 

Which is why, when Suuchan started her own Suumelo Senbatsu (or what she name it as Melodies) and appointed Mei as the center, I was on cloud nine. Mei never had such opportunity for the past 6 years, yet her own fellow team member could gave her that spotlight. I could never thank Suuchan enough for this, although sadly, Melodies hasn’t fully formed yet (Suuchan still haven’t announced all the members) so they can’t start any activity. With Mei graduating already, we can never get to see her acting out as the center of the unit... but nevertheless, the title still counts, so I’m really thankful to Suuchan, really.

I may have sounded like I’m complaining a bit too much, but overall, I think Mei had a really really great time in SKE. She definitely learnt a lot in the past 6 years and grow up to be the best she can be. I know she love her fans a lot, she’s nice to everyone, even though she don’t give kami taiou during HS or something. In my case, since I’ve never been to HS, I could see her kindness through her replies in 755 (ok at least back when she often uses it before having twitter) I could be asking something specific, or commenting generic stuff like “have fun during kouen” or “how’s your day?” and she would still reply to them^^ Seriously nice. Like really. Cuz I do know that my japanese grammar is kinda horrible, some sentences sound weird, but she was really nice^^ It maybe ridiculous, but I screenshot all her replies to me, since I’m just an international fan who does not have $$$ and freedom to go to HS .^. SIGHHHHHHHH but anyways, I really treasure those replies as those were our ONLY interactions~ I actually wanted to write a fanletter (like legit write one and send it) but there’s way too much problems in my hand so I regretfully decided to leave it out... 

ANDDDDDDD I should wrap this up since it’s already so long......... 

As I’m typing this, it’s roughly 5:10 AM Japan Time so there’s around 13 hours till her graduation kouen? Obviously gonna watch it, but I’m gonna have to sleep first lol. I don’t know what kind of emotion I should have, but I hope the kouen will run smoothly. I also hope she’ll have fun and have a memorable last kouen, and although it’s weird to say this, I am looking forward to it.

Kimeru Channel Report

The only way I can describe this event is beautiful!! Absolutely beautiful!!

All of the songs were special arranges made by Yosshi, They were so amazing!! And Kimeru’s vocals were just so perfect! I especially loved the arrange of Letter, it was a super chill summer style version. I really desperately need it on CD!!! I am extremely biased because I was on the receiving end of a really good wink during this (I swear to god, there was eye contact). It was the first time I saw him sing with the really relaxed no make-up look, which I enjoyed too.

The talk section absolutely flew by, even though I legit had no idea who the guest was. I loved their story about trying to get a taxi with Rachi Shinji and he insisted on a specific taxi company just because their service is good and it took an extra 20 minutes trying to find a taxi. I... can absolutely imagine this. Also evidently he (Rachi) loves coffee and grinds his own coffee beans at home. Of course as a Kimeru fan I liked the most hearing about his past. I kind of assumed when he worked at the post office before becoming a singer it was just a job to pay the bills, but evidently it was actually his dream because he really, really loves letters. Like he used to have a ridiculous amount of pen pals and put out messages in the local paper looking for people to exchange letters with, even sent out a letter with seeds attached to a balloon hoping someone would find and plant them. That’s ridiculously cute?? I immediately decided to start writing him fanletters loool kill me now. But I’m totally sending one to the fanmail address for Phantom Tuning if I can write it in time... I have a lot of feelings ok...

Also evidently he loves going to concerts and goes totally wild at them, and that’s when he started thinking about how fun it would be to be on stage himself and became a singer, not actually because he wanted to sing. This sounds totally insane to me because he was clearly made to sing...!!!

I got some good polaroids but they were 1000 yen FOR ONE! Holy shit dude! But I had to try for the chance for taking one with your requested pose. I thought up a few I really want now... I’m still trying desperately to win the Kimelottery but I legit bought the last two they had. It had repeat photos too... dang...
