MY THOUGHTS ON DRAGON BALL DAIMA
Tumblr media
(Wasn't going to post this old draft, but decided to post it anyway since @/puyohero was curious about my thoughts)
Awesome! Love that Toriyama is heavily involved! Love the art & animation and the idea is interesting too.
SIMILARITY TO DRAGON BALL GT
Yes, GT did something similar. However GT sidelined most of the cast. Even Pan & Trunks kinda got sidelined when they were part of the main cast of GT. In this, it seems the other characters will play some sort of role too. Or I assume so. And they will be traveling to another realm/world. So maybe the others will go with Goku.
DB DAIMA seems to be referencing a lot of DB properties & not only GT. As pointed out here...
CAST AS CHILDREN COULD MEAN...
I had hoped it would turn the entire cast into children and glad it happened. Now I hope we get more info about it. Because what I want is for the other cast members to get involved. Gohan & Piccolo are on a similar level to Goku & Vegeta, so then being excluded to only focus on Goku & Vegeta would be stupid. And since it is stated that this series won't be transformation heavy... what if Goku cannot transform into forms he didn't have as a child?? Or it's very taxing on the body if they can. Now everyone can get involved in the battles! Krillin has already returned to martial arts, but we can get my boy Yamcha fighting again! We might even get to see kid Ox King fight alongside kid Roshi. That would be neat!
Now what would be funny is to see a kid version of Buu. Would it be a short chubby Buu or Kid Buu/Pure Buu? Or maybe the magic won't affect him much since he can change his appearance at will. 🤔
Also, I bet there is a joke about Krillin not getting much smaller when turned into a kid again like how there was a joke in OG Dragon Ball that Krillin didn't get much taller & Krillin is upset about the statement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, the chibi reminds me of the Dragon Ball SD manga.
TITLE POSSIBLY ELUDING TO...
Tumblr media
Another interesting thing was the placeholder name "Magic" and the current name "DAIMA." Seems like Toriyama is possibly hinting at the Makaioshin. Evil beings with magical power, the Demon Realm being a place where magic rules over science, and the fact that THIS guy looks like a Kaioshin.
Tumblr media
So the little guy could be a God of the Demon Realm. Or maybe a God of Destruction of the Demon Realm. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see.
JOURNEY TO THE WEST REFERENCES
I see some Journey To The West/Saiyuki influence in here too which is good cause this is Dragon Ball after all. Goku with a Sun Wukong role, East Kaioshin (Shin) with the monk role. And maybe other characters who are inspired by Saiyuki will play roles similar to their inspirations.
Vegeta having a Sun Wukong role while Bulma has the Tripitaka role
Piccolo having a Tripitaka/Wukong role while Gohan also has the Tripitaka/Wukong role
Krillin with a Tripitaka role (maybe some Wukong role too since he also takes some Wukong inspiration) & maybe 18 takes on the role of Tripitaka in certain aspects?
Yamcha with a role referencing Sha Wujing role
Tenshinhan with a role referencing Erlang Shen
And if the Demon Realm is involved then there is more Saiyuki references. Journey to a dangerous land and fighting demons. This could be pretty cool to see.
GOKU'S DESIGN
And another thing... Goku's gi in Daima. It's becoming closer and closer to his End of Z gi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The untucked style of Goku's gi in Daima is similar to EoZ, but the colors are still like his iconic orange and blue gi.
MY THEORY FOR THE STORY
In the Demon Realm, the Makaioshin & some Demon God examine Goku & his friends. They speak about Babidi and how he recruited the King of the Demon Realm, Dabura, and still failed. As well as Bibidi summoning & Babidi reawakening the evil beings Majin Buu, then Buu becoming an ally of Goku. Where a sorcerer failed, a Demon God plans to succeed. The Demon God & Makaioshin notice that Goku & company are always victorious due to their strength, transformations, and friendship that encourages each other. So somehow, they are all turned into children to make them doubt their chances of victory. And their power is nerfed too. The Saiyans might have to struggle just to turn SSJ again. I believe it will be through a spell just to be different from GT and not use a wish granting Dragon. The part that shows that a wish was made to Shenron wish was likely after they were turned into kids and they needed help in some way, or they tried to reverse the spell and it was beyond the power of Shenron.
So they venture into this new realm to fix things. Perhaps splitting into groups. Goku & Kaioshin, Vegeta & Bulma, Gohan & Piccolo, Krillin & 18, ect. Some teaming up with other groups too. Get to see stuff like Goku & Tien team up. They learn about the depths of magic & Bulma is surprised because her technology she relies so much upon doesn't matter much in the Demon Realm where magic is their technology.
At some point, they find a way to return to their actual ages and adult bodies. In the end, they confront the Demon God & Makaioshin. Of course Goku would face the main bad guy (along with Vegeta & maybe with Gohan & Piccolo). Godly power vs godly magic. Or something like that.
Now let's wait & see how wrong I am 😂

🫀The Heart's Savior.
Hello everyone, wolfpack! As I promised, here is part two on Yamcha's key role in the Androids and Cell saga. For those of you who have not yet read part one, you can catch up with my analysis of Yamcha and Goku's relationship by clicking here.
PART 2: The Present.
This time, as I anticipated in the previous post, I will deal with the present. This means that just as Yamcha took care of his past, in this case represented by Goku, he also went out of his way to take care of what was happening around him. So I am referring to those moments when there was no time to stop and think, or those moments when there was nothing else to do but give comfort or any kind of help.
Tumblr media
Before we get into that, I want to point out an aspect of Yamcha that I think is curiously impossible to eradicate. Let's face it, Akira Toriyama did not treat him very well. Or rather, he didn't make the most of him. Although I'm sorry to say it, I think all of Yamcha's potential came up not because Toriyama really wanted it, but because in his mind he needed someone to sentence those exact words. So Yamcha was always a tool, and as long as he expressed himself to give support to his friends it could have been fine. The problem arises when at some point (precisely upon Trunks' arrival) Yamcha changes dramatically, becoming a wimp who prefers to run away instead of a daredevil who is willing to do anything to help. I would like to recall that long ago, despite having a broken leg, he had ignored this disability of his to go and help Goku and Tenshinhan against the Great Demon King Piccolo. Or even, it was always Yamcha who had motivated his friends to join Goku and face the Red Ribbon army together with him.
Tumblr media
So it is strongly logical that the "new Yamcha" we see is not the result of a sensible character change but simply the result of a stupid and awkward narrative necessity. When Trunks arrives in the past and shortly thereafter reveals himself, Akira Toriyama could not afford to put Bulma on the wrong side. She was still the second main character in Dragon Ball, and besides that her relationship with Yamcha, despite its ups and downs, was loved by many. I mean, even the original voice actors of the two were convinced that sooner or later they would really get married, so their breakup had to look like something that made sense; moreover, the breakup had to justify Bulma's final decision and especially redeem the figure of Vegeta, who from then on would officially take Tenshinhan's place as Goku's historical rival. How to do this, then? Simple: Yamcha is a stupid good-for-nothing cheating womanizer who is afraid of everything. Problem solved! Well… Not really, but still it must be admitted that Toriyama has succeeded to some extent since many Dragon Ball fans are really convinced of this. I will discuss this on another occasion. Now it is important to point out that in this arc it is absolutely evident that there is an attempt to scuttle the character in every way possible, but as I said before, it almost seems as if Yamcha himself tried to take over and go beyond the wishes of his author. Simply put: it got out of their control. Majin Yamcha cannot exist!
I mean, it's as if he wants to say, "Okay jerks, you wanna make me useless? Fine, but I'll be in my own way!"
Tumblr media
Here you can see Yamcha lashing out at the Toei Animation people of making him look useless.
Of course, these are just impressions. We will never know how much they realized Yamcha's value, but let us say that even though they represented him in this saga as a mere sidekick or driver or nurse, they unintentionally made him greater than he already was. And it's nice to be able to see that even though Yamcha was backed into a corner, he still managed to make a difference. This shows how even for Toei Animation and Toriyama it is impossible to distort this character. That's why I say that it is Yamcha himself who is rebelling against his unfair fate: his way of doing things, which we have come to know from the beginning of Dragon Ball, cannot be changed. He may be an adorable clown, he may be afraid of new enemies and he may even be weaker than others, but that does not mean that he is ridiculous, cheater and especially useless.
Keep all this in mind: on the one hand we have Toriyama's willingness to destroy the character, and on the other hand we have Yamcha whose few "superfluous" lines disproves it all. It is a sneaky battle that I urge you to notice better, especially since it is from these seemingly unnecessary moments of his that Yamcha's heroism is best delineated.
Well, now we can really start.
Buckle up because this is going to be a looooong read.
Tumblr media
In this chapter we will see how Yamcha not only took care of Goku and Chichi, but also of many other people. We are in the present, that is the time when absolutely no misstep is allowed. Any wrong attitude could change the fate of the world, and Yamcha knows this well because Trunks told of a disastrous future in which there is nothing left but hope. Here is the key word. Hope. It is said to be the last to die, and that is absolutely true, but in order for it to endure over time, even when everything falls apart, it is important that it be fueled by love. Yamcha is the absolute personification of this. Throughout Dragon Ball he has always been the first to hope and believe that all is not lost. Moreover, he has always been the one who has consoled and helped the characters not to break down. As I have already said, this attitude is essential for a fighter. Being emotionally prepared for a battle can change things, and we have seen this many times. So that Yamcha is a real motivational coach should not go so unnoticed, especially in a context where even Goku's strength is doubted.
In short: Yamcha is the one who saves the mood.
So, dear friends, we will now explore together those little details that could rehabilitate our beloved Yamcha and make him essential in a context that does not seem to have considered him enough.
...No, wait. May I begin by saying that Yamcha saved even the Kame House?
Tumblr media
Come on, I'm kidding. Let's start with a rather simple scene. In this case, the character called upon is Tenshinhan.
Tumblr media
The friendship between Yamcha and Tien is crazy. Their rivalry during the 22nd Tournament was stronger than that between Goku and Tien himself, which made their reconciliation even more exciting.
Tumblr media
We are at the moment when Tenshinhan tries to stop Cell from absorbing Android 18. His strength is dwindling out of all proportion; at Kame House Chiaotzu and Yamcha sense that their friend is doomed. Therefore Yamcha proposes to rush to his rescue. Although it is nothing new that Yamcha wants to take action to save his friends in danger, this is a small scene that shows how incongruent Dragon Ball has become at some point. Okay, I can also accept that Yamcha is a guy who feels he has to act only when the situation is particularly close to him and his heart is tickled, but I absolutely do not accept that his will to do is always stopped by a force superior to him: the plot.
Tumblr media
In this case, Muten stops Yamcha's determination by telling him that going to help Tien wouldn't be smart because they would risk death as well. All right, it may be true, but Yamcha certainly didn't want to stop Cell. Yamcha only wanted to save his friend, also because we all know the lethal effects of the (Shin) Kikoho. It means Yamcha would have picked up Tien and carried him away, or at best it means he would have helped him by using his Sokidan to distract the enemy, or even the kamehameha. I want to emphasize it again: not to kill Cell, but just to distract him and buy time. Well, for reasons unknown to us, the saying "unity makes strength" does not apply if you are an earthling. At least at this time, since at the end of the Cell Saga everyone will seriously join forces to help Gohan. And may I have my say? It is the highest moment in all of Dragon Ball Z, because for the first and only time all the Z-Fighters unite to defeat the enemy and win.
Tumblr media
Whatever. Let's ignore what to me is a big plot mistake and focus again on Yamcha: as you can see, he would have wanted to do much more than what he was given and the fact that he wants to intervene against Cell, who is even stronger than the Androids 19 and 20 who almost took him out, confirms how Yamcha was thwarted by the narrative and not by his supposed weakness.
It is quite funny that all these contradictions and all the attempts to make him a good-for-nothing, if seen from the right perspective, can seriously save Yamcha's reputation. You just have to be a little more careful. Be that as it may, once again we can see how Yamcha's heart is big enough to put his own life on the line in order to save his close friend. If only Toriyama Muten had not stopped him…
Now it is Gohan's turn.
If taking care of Goku and Tien is more obvious because they are two friends he has loved for so long, taking care of Gohan is quite different. Well, let's say that what Yamcha feels for anyone is unconditional love. He loves and it is by loving that he is able to feel stronger. It is a feeling that goes even beyond hatred, but we will talk about that another time. In Gohan's case, Yamcha's love takes on an even symbolic role.
Tumblr media
At this point you might think that I am abusing the word "love", but…. Did you read that correctly? It is Yamcha himself who uses it. What's more, he is the only one who uses it. After all, Yamcha is the only one who explicitly admits his desire to love. Bulma's first wish was to find a boyfriend, while Yamcha's dream was to get married and consequently love someone for the rest of his life. He is the most romantic character of all, and it is a pity that this peculiarity of his is seen as one more reason to think him weak. Instead, I believe that confessing certain feelings makes him even stronger than all those who hide them. So I'm really glad that at such an important moment Yamcha has spoken words that are absolutely in line with his character. At least in this he has not been distorted.
Tumblr media
Although it is evident that the boy's second father is Piccolo, we can also speculate that he was not the only one. Especially after Goku's death, I like to think that someone like Yamcha visited Chichi and her son often so that they would not be lonely. After all, Chichi is also pregnant, which further supports the hypothesis that Yamcha may have been there for them in some way. Uncle Yamcha, right? Sounds good! But let me tell you our dear bachelor dude has the makings of a good father. I mean, maybe during these years he was actually the one who taught Gohan how to play baseball? Who knows...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I told you in the previous chapter, Goku has been like a little brother to protect for Yamcha. Even if Goku was definitely stronger than Yamcha and could defend himself, the little saiyan possessed a great weakness: he was naive. How many times was he teased by villains because he had trusted them? And how many times was he taken by surprise by enemies because he had no idea who they were? Well, Yamcha helped him open his eyes many times. He has watched over him where Goku's innocence was not enough, and using his own bandit-like nose in his favor, Yamcha has gotten him out of little and big trouble. The only reason I don't call him paternal is only because the age difference is minimal, but certainly the drawings from long ago help to better convey the idea of how much Yamcha's stature shielded Goku's pudgy little body.
Tumblr media
I always found this moment tender because Bulma, Yamcha and Goku look just like mommy, daddy and son. Therefore, it is not at all strange to imagine that all this kind of love felt for Goku has also projected toward his son. However, this time the fatherhood is definitely evident, both because the age difference between Yamcha and Gohan is greater and because it could only be otherwise. We said that Yamcha's mission is to take care of everyone, right? So do you think he could have ever backed down from helping the son of the man who led him to the path of good?
Tumblr media
It is the most natural thing Yamcha can do. As he loved Goku when he was small and innocent now he loves his son. He owes it to him. Personally, I do not consider it an accident that it is Yamcha himself who takes Gohan in his arms. He could have taken care of Trunks' body, but since Yamcha is Goku's guardian he could only take care of his child. Ultimately we can say that Yamcha, in this saga, has taken care of the complete Son family. He cared for Goku during his illness, consoled and comforted Chichi, and finally helped Gohan when the evil had been defeated. I find it emotional that Gohan says thank you to him. It seems like a small thing, but considering Yamcha's treatment in recent years, it is nice to be able to see that characters once respected him for what he did.
Tumblr media
As evidence of his value, there is also this brief exchange of words between Yamcha and Tien in which Yamcha's good heart is emphasized even more. Despite suffering from the fight against the Cell Juniors, one of whom even broke his arm, Yamcha ignores these painful wounds and equally takes the boy in his arms as if nothing happened. It really seems that his desire to protect Gohan is stronger than the suffering he is experiencing physically. Seriously, at this point I really cannot believe how it is possible for such a pure character to be brutally hated or mocked.
Tumblr media
Guys, we are almost finished. Actually I would have gone on even longer than that, but I don't want to bore you so much. I just think Yamcha deserves all this attention, and since we possess few moments of him I feel that dwelling on his seemingly tiny actions is essential to redeem the character. When I say make Yamcha great again I really mean that he was once great in earnest, and I hope that this will be noticed someday even by those who did not understand him enough. Also by reading all of this or other people reflections in the web.
Now let's go back and address an equally historic friendship, that between Yamcha and Krillin.
Tumblr media
Yamcha and Krillin share a deeper bond than people think. For example, many people do not remember that the two of them trained together under Muten's supervision, just as Goku and Krillin did long before; also always together they experienced the Fortuneteller Baba adventure, climbed Karin's tower, and finally trained at the same time in Kami's palace. We can safely say that Yamcha and Krillin share many more moments together than Krillin experienced with Goku, and while this does not necessarily make them best friends, it does not mean that the love they have for each other is any less.
Tumblr media
The result of this important relationship is found once again in the Cell Arc. I told you, this is where Yamcha plays all his cards and shows that he has done everything for everyone.
Tumblr media
The scenes between Yamcha and Krillin are also the simplest in this entire analysis, but I still would not take them for granted. For example, here we witness a psychologically devastating moment for Krillin. His guilt over not pressing the remote control button that would have destroyed Android 18 grips him to the point where he makes the decision to confront Cell and thus repair the damage done, but once again Toriyama Muten stops him because it is not his place to fight. So we see him distressed, angry with himself and in the throes of an impending nervous breakdown, but suddenly a hand rests on his shoulder and with that simple warmth tries to sweep away all his frustration.
Tumblr media
Yeah, it is Yamcha again. Once again he steps in to lift someone's spirits, and while it may not necessarily make Krillin really feel better, it is still to be appreciated that Yamcha did not make him feel alone and guilty at an absolutely sensitive time. I mean, the world was also falling apart because of that fatal decision by Krillin. It is normal that he felt wrong, but Yamcha immediately puts himself in his friend's shoes and without a second thought rescues him as much as he can, because he cannot accept Krillin's collapse. Controlling every single emotion continues to be crucial.
Be that as it may, I find this scene as touching as it is sad. It is touching because once again Yamcha is there for his friends, but it is sad because if we go back over and review the scene where Yamcha feels impotent in helping Tien, no one rests a hand on his shoulder to make him feel better. Toriyama Muten remains quite impassive and this only increases the sense of uselessness that is intended to be given to Yamcha. I swear to you, writing all this makes me really sick. It's like I see myself in this kind of unfair loneliness that never seems to want to let him go.
Tumblr media
Well, however, this is not the end of the story. Actually I would say that now the most depressing part of the topic begins. When I say that Yamcha was destroyed in every possible way, I really mean in every possible way. Although this saga indeed contains so many good moments of him, it is also the arc that definitively marks his death. In fact, from this moment on, Yamcha is deprived even of his only purpose, which is to get married, because he is given over to Krillin himself. The decision to tie him to Android 18 is as beautiful as it is sadistic, if we see the whole situation from Yamcha's point of view. Krillin has never expressed a desire to marry and fall in love. From the beginning, he has always seen martial arts as an excuse to impress girls, and while this does not mean that he should not find a woman for life, it is quite unfair that once again Yamcha's wish has gone unheeded. This would have been the perfect opportunity to fulfill his dream, but for who knows what reason (come on, we know why by now…) they decided that it should be Krillin who should get married. Mind you, I am absolutely happy for him. The Krillin/18 couple is one of the most beautiful. All I am saying is that it is not fair to a character who has ALWAYS sought love. His misfortune in love is no longer funny. Being a positive character, I think it is fair to give him at least a win, but as we will see somehow Yamcha will make his case in other ways. He is not the type to be so easily put down, and that is why his many facets make him one of the most interesting characters in Dragon Ball.
Tumblr media
This is one of the most tender moments in Dragon Ball but also one of the most misunderstood. Yamcha comes off as a bit of a fool in this scene because he is the only one who is afraid of Android 18, but I defy anyone not to have smiled a little at his comedy. After so many episodes where we have been with dread in our eyes because of Cell, Yamcha's lightheartedness is a breath of fresh air. In a way, it is as if he takes us back in time, when in Dragon Ball we rejoiced over little. He is the fighter who keeps the soul of OG Dragon Ball alive.
Tumblr media
But Yamcha doesn't just make us laugh. Yamcha shows us that after all the hatred felt for Cell it is love that is what remains. Love and hope. Although Goku is gone, the world keeps turning and it is absolutely necessary to continue to have faith and live life even more than before. Therefore Yamcha does not hesitate and, as a good friend, does everything to help Krillin hope. If it were not for his encouraging words, Krillin would have left the palace disappointed to have missed an important opportunity. Instead, Yamcha instills in him a small chance, helps him notice that Android 18's does not feel like a farewell, and most importantly, he does not make him feel unworthy. A similar thing happens in the videogame FighterZ, where Yamcha and Krillin have a conversation about women and it turns out that Krillin has an attraction to female androids. He seems ashamed of this, but Yamcha doesn't mind. On the contrary, he reassures his friend to never make him feel wrong, because at the end of the day, love has no limits and he knows well that. He supports him. He supports everybody, but unfortunately nobody supports him. That's why we have to do it!
Tumblr media
I have always found this lovely. Yamcha always cheered for his friends, even when they managed to get married. He was never envious, never tried to stand in the way of their happiness, always smiled for them. This is the most beautiful characteristic of Yamcha, especially when we consider that it is highly likely that this disproportionate love he feels for others goes hand in hand with his sense of loneliness. It is as if helping others distracts him from the sense of failure he feels for himself.
Tumblr media
Like here. It almost seems as if Krillin is apologizing for stealing his chance to get married. As if he's trying to say "hey man, sorry I'm the one who found love and not you. I am so sorry that your fate in this story is so bad. You don't deserve it, friend". It's just a figure of speech, because obviously there is no connection between Yamcha and Android 18, but I think you get my point.
Tumblr media
Yamcha even calls him silly. Not only because one should never apologize when it comes to love, but especially because it is not his style to stand in the way of the feeling that most represents him. Oh please, let's ignore that Yamcha has to give an expensive necklace to his "girlfriend." I gather from these few words that she is definitely not the kind of woman he deserves, but we will talk about that another time. Regardless, it is good to see Krillin smiling thanks to Yamcha, since until recently he was sad about losing Android 18 and especially his close friend Goku. He would have returned to the Kame House in the wrong mood, and we all know how a bad day can be fatal. Who knows, maybe it is because of this nudge from Yamcha that Krillin and Android 18 got together.
We end this long journey in the present with this beautiful frame of Krillin saying thank you to Yamcha, just as Gohan had done. I think this is the saga where he is finally given the gratitude he deserves, and all in all it's okay. It's just too bad that this is the last time Yamcha will be respected. And as I have already reiterated, it is unfortunate that few people have noticed this. We will see a little something in the Buu Arc, but it certainly won't be enough.
Tumblr media
I want to conclude this analysis with a simple reflection. I hope everyone is aware that the main theme of the Androids and Cell saga is hope. Hope is what drove Mirai Trunks to the past, and as I have already said, hope is the only thing that remains in his future.
If we focus on this word, doesn't it seem to you that Yamcha is the total reincarnation of this feeling? Think about it. He is the only one who has never stopped hoping. He has hoped for Goku and because of his trust he has reassured Chichi as well; he has hoped for Gohan, for Tien, for Kuririn and finally for other characters that we will analyze in the last chapter.
In short, Yamcha is the bearer of hope in the present. He is the one who kept it alive so that the world would not fall apart as it did in the future. Yamcha is hope itself. So... If hope is absolutely indispensable in Trunks' horrendous future, why shouldn't we think Yamcha is indispensable for Dragon Ball?
Well, thank you for getting here.
See you for the last chapter: The Future.

Ig for those curious, here are the weapons I think each dbz character ive drawn currently would use in the splatoon au thing I drew
Goku-
Krak on splat roller/splattershot (mainly rollers) He went through using alot of weapons before deciding on the krak on roller. He used to be very indecisive on what he wanted to use.
Vegeta-
Splat dualies (or any dualies in general, prefers using the enperry dualies) he likes being really aggressive, and using dualies help him achieve that. Depending on what he feels like doing, he will use different dualies. He hardly ever uses the dualie squelchers though.
Krillin-
Doesn't participate in turf wars as often anymore, but he often uses Luna blaster. He often did matches with goku as a duo, and would pick a weapon that would be good support for goku's. He also occasionally uses nzap. Plays more salmon run.
Chichi- also doesn't participate very much, but she was a good splatana wiper player. Plays any splatana. She used to be a competitive player, though played less and less after marrying goku. She still plays turf wars occasionally, more often when goku, or her children do.
Yamcha- local tentabrella user, 5 starred v tentabrella though is still figuring out how exactly to use it. He often changes weapons now bc he wants to find a cooler weapon to main.
Bulma- Ink brush player, prefers nouveau over v ink brush. She occasionally uses other brushes and took interest in learning splatanas.
Gohan- Heavy splating deco user. He sometimes plays rollers, but loves using splatlings alot more. Will play any he feels like, but the heavy deco is his favorite.
Trunks- 52 gal user. He uses any of the gal weapons, but occasionally uses dapple dualies if he feels like it.
Goten- splat roller user. He uses any rollers, but also is pretty good with squiffer. His goal is often to be as irritating as possible.
Tien- Splat charger user. He uses any charger, but prefers the regular splat charger.
Bardock- carbon roller deco user. His play style and quick and aggressive, and he often goes for front line weapons when he feels like doing something different. Often plays ranked/anarchy.
Gine- Undercover brella user. She often swaps between v undercover and undercover sorella brella. She'll use any other brella if she feels like it, and also occasionally uses e-liter. She also often plays ranked/anarchy.
King vegeta- Splat dualies user. He'll use any dualies, but prefers v splat dualies.
Raditz- Dynamo roller user. I just think this weapon would fit him. He's fond of heavy hitting weapons, though is still learning how to use them properly. Often swaps between the dynamos.
Turles- octobrush user. He's also grown pretty fond of using the painbrushes, often swapping between them. He's one of those toxic players that taunt after every kill and just mess with people in general. He's also a sore loser. Don't be like him kids
Frieza doesn't play in turf wars. If he DID though he'd use splatana stamper.
Broly(dbs) - heavy splatling user. He'll use any splatling, but heavy is the one he loves using the most. He's still new to turf wars, often playing anarchy with goku and vegeta as they show him the ropes.
Paragus- dualie squelchers user. He found teaching Broly to be frustrating. He was good at fighting and was strong, but he never really took to using the dualies like he had hoped. Man really wanted his son to like his main weapon
Mostly based off of my own headcanons n all that, there'll be more as I think of them but this post is already long enough. If you have questions about the au, feel free to ask!
Idk about the story yet, it's not gonna be 100% a reflection of dbz canon, cause all of it cannot be replicated into splatoon, not every aspect of dbz or dbs will be incorporated either, that'd be alot lmao
I'll also be deviating from splatoon canon n all that as well, just a little tho ^^
Sorry for the word vomit
Already working on what saiyans are, yeah they're octos, but with a twist
Or sumn, still figuring it out.

Most people say the point is Jin's not supposed to have a redemption arc in TK8, the point was him just moving on and learning to live with his sins. Which yeah, may be it, but most people still see it as a "redemption arc" when the Bad Guy is Good, and everyone's just friends with him now.
But you already know how I feel about Jin's characterization as a whole. When it comes to what he deserves, Jin should've never had to need a redemption arc to begin with. However, they definitely went about it wrong in T8. Which yes, again as I said above, technically Jin's story wasn't a "redemption arc". But we still had characters acting far too forgiving toward him when they shouldn't be. Jin asking, "do I deserve the right to desire life?" is sweet in the context of T8, but in the context of T6, it just makes you think "well buddy I'm sure those thousands you've killed also desired life, too." And again, you also find yourself questioning why this matters so much to Jin when it clearly didn't matter much to him in T6. I barely consider T8 to be Jin's "development" beyond him not wanting to die anymore, but instead just a return to basics (how he behaved in T3-T5) But Jin's arc of dealing with his T6 actions is over and I don't think they're really gonna revisit it again unless Miguel pops up and says "you killed my sister" and Jin says "sorry" and Miguel goes "oh right. Okay then."
As for Kazuya...
The problem is, I'm a very critical consumer. In fact, it's a surprise I haven't tried to become a more "professional" critic. I'm also a no-nonsense writer. When it comes to villains and if they're redeemable, I think there is a certain line they can't cross. Killing thousands of innocents, some potentially being children, is that line. However, clearly this works differently in Tekken. In Tekken, terrible actions aren't treated with the same weight that they're treated with in other stories or real life. Sure, nobody forgot what Jin did, but they also didn't exactly treat him like a mass murderer who's killed thousands, potentially millions. Lars doesn't act like Jin got his best friend (Tougou who?) killed, along with giving him and his girl PSTD, along with forcing his girl to fight her and "killing her", along with all the disrespectful, nasty things Jin said to Lars and the others.
I do think it's a high possibility Kazuya will be "redeemed" in T9, that we might see him and Jin make amends with each other. But I just don't think it's gonna be satisfactory to me. Canonically, both Kazuya and Jin's actions weren't worthy of a redemption that either didn't involve their deaths or them being virtual "outcasts" from society. I've had people try to argue with me, saying "but what about Vegeta from DBZ" - and it's like that's the thing. I don't really care for many animes or their tropes. Now, there are some animes I love. But... the majority of tropes and how it handles these villains is something I don't care for. So, if I watched DBZ, I'd probs be critical of that aspect, too, lol. Darth Vader is a character that comes to my mind because he was also a war criminal who killed millions, including children. He was redeemed, but only through death.
It's just hard to imagine Kazuya or Jin getting to live out happy, domestic lives after they've ravaged the world and ruined so many other lives. Of course, it's something I want more for Jin just because of the bad writing. Kazuya was always meant to be a villain or antagonistic character. He's been this way since T2. Jin, however, wasn't. Jin was only turned into this character in the 6th game after Harada insisted on it. But like, when the games tried to continue going with "Yah Jin did all that, what of it?" Then... yes, it is hard to imagine him living out a normal happy life with his only consequences for his many murders is just he felt bad about it and his daddy beat him up a few times.
T9's Kazuya will probs be a "slower" process than Jin, but in the end - he'll probs be redeemed by Jun's love, say "I won't try to kill our son anymore :3" and then help Jin defeat Reina.
So yeah. I just don't think neither will get a truly deep redemption arc, but honestly? It's about time where that much depth and consideration should be expected from the writing.
Also I guess an unpopular opinion of my own regarding Kazuya is that... I don't care if he gets redeemed honestly. As heartwarming as it is seeing the what ifs and him, Jin, and Jun being a happy family. I also just don't care if that happens or not. After all, not every villain needs a redemption arc. And with Tekken? We're at the point where they've been trying to convince us that Heihachi isn't that bad, and then they're trying to convince us that the motherfucking DEVIL cared about Jin and was actually good in a way. So like, not every character needs to be redeemed or needs a "oh wait, they're not as bad as you think!" As I said, it mattered so much with me about Jin because Jin should've never been depicted as a villain - it goes against his entire character and why I loved him. But Kazuya was always conceived as a villain. Therefore, the push for him to be redeemed just isn't as strong regardless of his tragic backstory.
And I mean that in all seriousness. Kazuya is a tragic character, but he's intentionally written as one. Not tragic because the writers did him dirty. Villain characters often are tragic and surrounded by tragedy. Because tragedy and trauma is what shapes many bad guys into the person they are. Not every villain with a tragic story needs a redemption arc - even if he does have loved ones, too.
Of course, this isn't to say I'm against Kazuya's redemption. I'm just explaining why I wouldn't care if it didn't happen.

Character Discourse
So character discourse on Tumblr can get heated. We all have favourite characters for many reasons whether it be for nostalgia, some kind of relatability etc. But what I find most annoying is when people try to invalidate someone's opinion of a character because that person likes an antagonist of that character or your interpretation of a canon event does not match theirs or something like that.
For example, I love Draco. He is the reason why I got into Harry Potter in the first place. However, I don't like the golden trio. Not because of their bad relationship with Draco but other factors such as how their bad acts are downplayed in the story. My feelings for Draco and the golden trio are ALMOST mutually exclusive. It's annoying how my feelings about the trio may be minimized or ridiculed because I am a 'Draco stan' so of course I don't like the trio because they are meanies to poor baby Draco (sarcasm). If I want to criticize Hermione, I have to criticize Draco too even though my post has nothing to do with Draco. I have had Hermione fans/stans use my love for Draco against me when they have no good argument against aspects of Hermione's horrid character. As much as I like Draco, I am ok seeing people make valid critiques of him. Like calling Hermione mudblood or mocking Ron for his socioeconomic status. If I say anything in defence of Draco, it is mainly to point out double standards. For example, if Draco should be criticized for calling Hermione mudblood, we should hold Hermione to the same standard when she calls Firenze a horse. Or when Minerva, Hagrid and the Weasleys use 'muggle' as a slur.
I have made a few posts about Goku and Vegeta as dads. Just because you hold an opinion about something, you get accused of not watching the show or being a brain-dead stan. I have realized that people have different filters when they watch something. But it's frustrating when those filters that are outlined for why you may see things a certain way are totally ignored. For example, someone may love Hercule Satan for his heroic acts and believe it outweighs whatever wrongs he did. But as much as I find his character entertaining, I will never fully like him because of his lies and the implications of his fraud for the next generation of martial artists like Videl. Two different opinions because someone may focus on what's on screen vs someone who may like to think about worldbuilding and cause & effect. I have stated multiple times why Goku rubs me the wrong way as a dad post Cell games based on what I see in canon DBZ. And until something else clicks for me when rewatching clips for nostalgia, I doubt I will ever feel differently. And fans of Goku don't exactly lessen the sour feelings either. Making accusations that I get all my opinions from Youtubers like I can't examine things for myself like a grown woman. I love Goku as a MC and I like his journey to be the best in the universe. My only tiny gripe is SOME of his interactions with his family.
In summary, character discourse can be annoying and sometimes it is just a waste of time. If someone does not agree with me, I just move on. Greet 2024 with a new lease on life and hope I can be more Christian-like in my interactions online.

10 ,19 and 23? By the way, it's me, Rokta.😶
10. The Dragon Ball series isn’t exactly known for being consistent with its story, its characters, and various other things. Which inconsistency irritates you the most? Well the thing is, I don't necessarily agree with a lot of the assertions people have about inconsistencies in the series. I think a lot of what's seen as inconsistent stems from extracanonical sources, though there are cases here and there. I suppose the one thing that probably irritates me the most is that, in the manga, when Trunks is warning about the Androids, he does rather explicitly say at the time it's Androids 19 and 20. Now if you know the story behind that, you know he was having to change things on the fly due to his editor calling him up and harping on him about this and that, how no one would find an old man and a doll appealing villains, which is why 17 and 18 (and 16) exist in the first place, only for him to say no one would be scared of them, so Cell was made, etc. But that had already been out to print and it was too late to do anything about it. The anime managed to avoid that, but... yeah. Now given that, sure. Fine. I can understand why that's a thing. What IRRITATES me the most about it though is that, in later editions of the DB manga, there were certain small mistakes fixed in editing, like Toriyama's math being off for what day certain events had to fall on. But for some reason, some unfathomable reason, they've always kept that glaring issue in there. So I suppose most of my irritation is actually with the editorial team picking and choosing what to "fix" instead of just doing a definitive release that fixes everything. 19. What is your opinion of Super?. I like the Super anime. I like it a LOT, in fact. And i think it's actually done wonders for the development and rejuvenation of certain characters. I think it could stand to do that for more of them, but hey. I do also love how we get to see more of these characters' day-to-day lives. It humanizes them more, and it also just serves as a lovely contrast and reminder of the absurdity and humor of things in this world as well. Now the Super MANGA on the other hand... I feel like it tries to almost shy away from those aspects, and the few times it doesn't it feels like it handles that material a lot more clumsily. I also feel they write the characters to be pretty OOC far more often than not, and handles them very inconsistently. Also focuses on the Saiyans to the exclusion of pretty much everyone else. Even when we see a brief glimpse of Krillin's home life, it's used to dunk on him, and we don't get to see anything for Tien, or Roshi. We don't get to see Piccolo get Gohan back into shape, it just happens off-page, and Goku and Gohan's relationship is depicted as a bit strained to boot, with Goku actually thinking it was absurd that they'd invite Gohan to the ToP, and being utterly unaware of his son's life or return to training. Vegeta's characterization is all over the place, and almost always adjusted to be as flattering in the moment as possible, be it for the "good guy" factor or the "badass" factor, even to the detriment of said characterization overall. It's just... comparatively, a mess. 23. What is your favorite technique?
Tumblr media
It's just so badass and potentially deadly, it takes real skill and precision to wield and control it like he does.

Out of all the complaints about IDW Sonic’s principles i find the one most perplexing is him being consider an asshole for defending his beilefs ot his friends instead of I dunno a character flaw.
Forgive if I’m more open to more flawed Sonic interpretation so I’m explaining this more on that angle instead of the more role model game portrayals . But I don’t see the comic as making his ideals the absolute correct way considering characters openly argue over against him. Which while he stubborn buckles down on his beilefs still lets them argue with him and even then still on good terms with them.
Only example I could see as mean spirited is the Sonic and Shadow panel that tends to be brought up alot. I’ll agree their could be couterarguements on if Sonic should have manipulate Shadow feelings their or not. (adding factor of Sonic booked into a corner trying defend who he beileved was an innocent man at the time) Unfortually considering that Shadow is being pushed into a more rival\vegeta type where BOTH writers admit they were restricted to how to write him, I feel that hinders the scene in hidsight. (not an excuse, just a possible explaination)
I’d say the grip that I do agree with is Eggman with Tinker situation since Sonic does feel he could change him when we know its never really gonna happen as the main villain. (sidenote if you want Sonic to subdue villains you should really focus on that prison in bad guys just sayin) Tho I feel that been dropped in recent arcs since Sonic’s interaction with Eggman now is just escaping from or stopping him via explosion like the games again. (aka beginning of Zeti Arc)
Aside from it being too preachy in recent issues I admit but one thing I appreciate now is now only their is more challenge of Sonic’s beilefs getting called out but Sonic struggling to hold on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unironcially I think this scene holds up better on in hidsight now knowing their going to be more to this. The story actually pulls Sonic principles into the focus and brings up the drawbacks of the one time he was actually merciful (which for Sonic’s defense aside from the Metal decision I feel are pretty reasonable at the time) I apreciate that for one spilt panel he seen to either be in thought or hestiants before answering cause he does a silmilar thing when he defeats Surge.
Tumblr media
Also why I can’t really see Sonic being unremorseful here cause the expression in that pause before he re-focus himself on another objective makes it feel he had some regret in how he dealt with Surge. Keep in mind Surge literally came up to him and declare he ruined her life and then proceeds to just threaten him in action before he had time to even process what she said to him. Can understand if some would have wanted Sonic to be more understanding but I can also why he’s more tough love stance here since she’s so aggressive to him. Eitherway it didn’t work out
But yea its not perfect and not even my favorite aspect of the comics, butI do feel their is decently to good structure where they can go with this.

Kimetsu no Yaiba/ Demon Slayer (Anime) Critic, opinion, whatever (no mayor spoilers)
I’m not a super nerd otaku who eat manga and who inject anime into their veins but I’m neither a noob, I saw a good amount of anime to be able to differentiate a crap of a good one. Besides that I’m OLD and I demand more than a basic plot and cute characters (I passed my Card Captor Sakura phase 300 years ago). So, with that in mind, I will now rant (because is my NEW blog and I can do the fuck I want here) about Demon Slayer and why I personally ADORE IT.
Let’s move of one basic aspect: music and design, both absolutely marvelous. The design, with that new mix between 3d and 2d without bother each other, that make the important scenes so fluid, dynamic and realistic that make your elbow tingle. The soundtracks that are sometimes catchy as fuck and sometimes a truly masterpiece (the Inosuke Theme, with the mix of oriental and orchestral, especially in THAT FIGHT, make you want to scream of how good it is).
Tumblr media
The design of the characters is fantastic. Each character is UNIQUE to the point that you can recognize even a silhouette or a minor detail, even from secondary characters that have barely screen time.
The fights are one of the best things I see in a lot of time. Is not a “repeat the pose 4 times each 5 seconds to make the fight last longer”. They move, they change poses, they hold their swords different, they kick, they jump, elude, bend, fall, hide, get hit, block, stand up. Is a real fight (often than once make you think that the producers use some kind of IRL reference, pretty obvious in some specific cases).
Blood. Is gore but not absurd, the blood has a reason and it looks like blood, it stains, it behaves as blood, is sticky and give a level of darkness and seriousness. Is not a walk in the beach, being hurt have CONSECUENCES and humans are not immortal, they don’t show up suddenly cured and with re growing limbs. Is kinda realistic (when the plot needs it). Be serious hurt and no matter if you are a top master, you will die (cries because HIM) (also don’t cry because some bastard is flexible).
Some backgrounds are so beautiful that can almost be watched as art. Wisteria flowers for the win, they are stunning and now I want one tree in my ceiling.
The characters have PERSONALITY. Even the most silent potato in a box have it. And their personalities GROW with the episodes. Specially Zenitsu and Inosuke.
Tanjiro is pretty much the Goku of the saga. A good soft boy who grows stronger with the power of the feelings and who is too kind to his own good.
Zenitsu is the coward, the Krilin, who can’t even fight in the beginner but who become a badass with the time.
Inosuke (my fav) is the Vegeta semi beast who shows that can behave when he wants, and who, somehow, pay more attention than Tanjiro. His growth is more evident because he passes from “Everyone is my enemy” to “I will die for you” very fast.
The secondary ones are more of the same. Great characters, even the evil ones. Some are on screen for 3 episodes and you love them to death and make you cry for days with PTSD. They have BACKGROUND. They all have motives, reason to why they are as they are, dreams, ideals, objectives, way to do the stuffs. Their personalities collide with other’s personalities, they interact, they have effect in each other, they are not in a bubble where nothing affect them. LIKE IN REAL LIFE.
The ladies are not useless bag of meat, they are not annoying lady in distress to save, they all give a fight and show they are capable, even the three cute childs of the butterflies. They also have opinions, they speak, they have point of views, with reasons, and others listen to them. Sorry, I’m just tired of the “girl who cry and is just pretty” of the animes lol.
Is drama, a lot of drama. The main characters are basically teenagers but they act in agreement with their historical surrounds (is first decade from 1900, so the culture is absolutely not similar to our) and situations (they are hunting demons, no time to make drama about bullshit).
It also has space to comedy. Perfect timing comedy, is a fun that make you smile as you cry of pain or laugh at random nonsense with almost perfect style.
It also has a space to not so Toxic Masculinity! See the main characters show high respect for the womans (and even full equality as Inosuke, who see womans just as the same as men), even when culturally can show the different. See secondary characters giving respect for the LIFE of the womans.
See the characters CRY. They are dudes and yet they cry more than me. And even when some of them are like “no, I don’t cry”, they don’t even stop. They accept they can be weak and vulnerable and not win all the time, and the only thing they see to do about it is BE BETTER.
So, no wonder why it has the success that it has. And unless they fuck it up BADLY in the next seasons, this anime will easily get a place as a Classic over time.
Score: 4.5/5 and 9/10 Welcome to the place of the Best Animes Ever

Media: Dragon Ball Z
Year/my age: 2002/12
What drew me to the media:
I came home from highschool everyday and had a small tv with a built in vhs in my closet. It was 4:30pm and toonami was on Cartoon Network. I watched the entire Cell Saga and Majin Boo like a fiend. It was a shitton of episodes! Ugh. It's almost impossible to watch all the way through now, but maybe because as an adult I want like...more plot motivated writing. One of the best fanfic foder aspects of DBZ is that so much is left open to interpretation. I didn't question the filler episodes as a kid. I just liked all the muscles and screaming. The animation/manga style remains super duper fun. But mostly I found DBZ memorable because of Vegeta. I got truly invested in him as a character, because for most of DBZ, he really lets you down. I think TV shows love to harp on tropes for children, ie the bad man becomes a good man and all his values change to match the good characters *sparkles*, because they think morally those are the stories that should be told to children. Which is sad, honestly. Vegeta doesn't fall into that arc. He remains...kind of a bitch... and his character arch is fantastic and long and hard and he fucks up a lot and he doesn't really apologize for any of it. This was amazing to see as a preteen. Teaching failure to a child is really hard, and I think that America's school system is really bad at even attempting to. But failure is super important. Because all of life that child cum adult is going to fail, and its going to suck.
What made me a fan:
In college, I did another pass of DBZ, and whoa, developing adult horny brain really went into spiral knots wondering...so what the fuck... Bulma and Vegeta... had sex? They made a child. They made Trunks. So they had sex, right? I think this is pretty common a reaction. And as soon as you think that, well... the next step is... 'wait wait wait, how did they have sex? why did they have sex? what did that even look like?' And that's what sends you scouring the internet at 1am in your underwear (covertly, because you're in a dormitory with three other roommates).
I wish I could put to language what is it about romance that sends people into fandom holes. Romance is really important to fandom. I think it has something to do with how regimented relationships are in mass media. They aren't diverse. Most main stream romance is very streamlined and never gets into the messy odd bits without being labeled as some kind of edgy cusp drama. I don't know. But relationships seem to be the spring board for fandom hijinks. I'm all about it. I'd rather have fake blorbo relationships in my brain to obsess over than the real world. That shit gets you into trouble.
Oh god, and what an indicator of future dispositions. If you get into the Vegebul fandom, a lot of them are rape stories (because god forbid, a woman could want a shitty asshole alien man to bone at night. Bulma has her own set of problems, specifically with vanity being high up there). But yeah they were hot and I was pretty ashamed about the whole thing.
I was such a baby then.
Have I written fanfiction for it?
YES. One winter vacation, I wrote a 40 page fanfiction. This was probably in 2010? It was UNFINISHED, but I was incredibly sweaty the entire time, trying to build up to a spanking scene. (Yes, 40 pages of build up for spanking. I'm embarrassed for myself.) My computer crashed and the entire document was corrupted. My first fanfic was lost. RIP
Opinion on the fandom:
Pretty chill. I didn't interact with it much besides reading secretly. Originally, I was reading on fanfiction.net. When I came back to it years later (once again after college, I got my husband into it) I was reading fanfic for it on Ao3. I run into other Vegebul's periodically. They are all in their late twenties, early-late thirties. I follow someone here on tumblr that wrote this fantastic long series (100+ chapters) called Pillow Talk which is on Ao3. It's fucking incredible about showing the ups and downs, ins and outs of their relationship, because they do wind up together in canon (which is wild).
The most recent interaction I had was in the kink community, which was like *sigh* 'god, we are so fucking predictable, aren't we?' We had a good laugh! But he was trans masc too, chilling in a femme body, so we clicked right away about it.
I also remember I had an annoying conversation with my stepbrother once about tattoos. I don't have any, so they were asking why I don't. I said "If I started to get tattoos it would be a slipper slop before I start making bad decisions like getting a full Vegeta arm sleeve." Their mouths twisted in that judging you face and said "yeah don't do that." Like...ahem. My point exactly.
I think people get pretty judgy in general about Vegebuls because its a 90s kid's show, and its not a very good one. But being a Vegebul is kind of like... realizing your parents have sex. It's part of 'coming of age'.
Would I participate again:
Hell yeah, I would. Once a Vegebul always a Vegebul. The biggest hurdle for me would be catching up on all the new material. I watched Dragon Ball Super and found it lackluster. GT was so bad, I cannot. Something that's commonly an issue for me is the amount of subject material required to understand a story in fanfiction. I'll get into it later with other fandoms, but if the lore gets too big, I suddenly don't know how to participate.

Here’s part 1 of some side character doodles in my U13 au!
This one is about the gods of U13. Introducing the god of destruction, Calado and their angel, Zeraca!
I wanted to make their theme on free-spiritedness and luxury since the drinks that they’re based off of (“Piña colada” and a cocktail called “Sazerac”) are typically those that you get off of high end up scale party. These two care more about elegance and the amount of fun at a party they’re having rather than just only caring about the food.
In some sense, Calado acts more entitled than Beerus because of how particular their tastes are in multiple aspects. The reason as to why they want to destroy Planet Vegeta in the first place was because all they did was fight and to them, the Saiyans were boring because they solely focused on one goal and to Calado, stagnation was boring. Unpredictablity and spontaneity was more exciting for them. The only reason as to why they spared the planet from destruction was because they wanted what Beerus was predicted to have; a Super Saiyan God. If they just needed to wait for it then they were willing to do so. Despite their entitled nature, I think they would’ve been good friends with Beerus for their shared love of poking fun at their students and their matching chaotic energy.
Zeraca is a little different in methodology. He doesn’t simply go by his god’s orders and is more flippant in nature, sometimes taking an active role in the destruction of planets with his god. He’s also a lot more vapid than other angels, typically resorting to insults and cursing rather than settling for compromise. He’s a lot more emotionally involved in destructive decisions than most which in turn causes him to be more keen to do his own thing than following orders from the Omnipriest (which is probably one of the reasons why Universe 13 got destroyed along with the 5 others that were fucked over by Zeno) aside from that he continues to stand with Calado throughout, being practically thick as thieves. However, unlike Calado and Beerus, Zeraca doesn’t have the same connection with his Universe 7 counterpart. He and Whis mix about as well as oil and water and they typically exchange conversation via backhanded compliments and petty banter. He is one of the very few people to make Whis genuinely curse or get mad at but the one thing the two of them agree on is keeping Beerus and Calado happy and not wanting to tear away their friendship because of their squabbling.

Hi!! Can I request a NSFW alphabet for Raditz? I loved the way you wrote the sfw one 💕 Thanks!
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Raditz is actually super comforting and great at aftercare! He’s very attentive to your needs, and he’ll clean you up and everything. It’s something he enjoys doing for his partner, and he doesn’t care if anyone tries to make fun of him for it. He knows it means a lot.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Raditz definitely loves his hair. It’s a huge source of pride for him, and if you tug on it while he’s eating you out, you’ve got a man who’s definitely in love with you. He adores it if you brush his hair.
On you, he loves your tits. He can’t help it, it’s just the kind of guy he is. He loves playing with them, and cupping them, squeezing them together, getting a titty fuck if he can...
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
If Raditz is feeling upset or angry, you can expect him to cum deep within you, as if he is trying to mark you as his. It can be a little territorial with Raditz, but he loves you and will always get consent from you. He loves filling your holes with cum, and watching it drip out of you.
He also loves making you cum like crazy too. He’s got lots of stamina and will lap at your weeping pussy until you’re begging and pleading for him to stop from over stimulation.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Raditz loves the idea of you dominating you, but he would never actually admit to that. It’s already that he gets a lot of shit from Vegeta and Nappa for being supposedly weak, so he would hate if that secret got out. If he were to get drunk with you one night, he might actually let you do this to him. It would drive him crazy to have you take control.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Raditz is quite experienced, and he’s a bit of a fuckboy before he gets into a relationship with you. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and he’s got a bit of a reputation amongst the Saiyan women as someone who can make a girl squirt. He’s proud of his experience, but he doesn’t boast about it...well, not too much anyway.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Raditz adores the mating press, or having you ride him. It’s crazy how good it feels when he gets into these positions, but he enjoys the intimacy of things as well, so he can switch it up to missionary or doggy sometimes. Raditz is all over the place with positions, but some nights he just wants his favorite, which is usually you on top.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Raditz can be a little funny and sarcastic during sex, and from time to time he’ll make a sexual joke or remark and it’s funny. You both like to laugh and have fun during sex, because you both know it’s not always supposed to be super serious. If it’s a romantic moment, he’ll keep his composure and treat you accordingly.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Raditz actually likes to keep himself clean shaven and trims regularly. He doesn’t have a whole lot of body hair to begin with, so he enjoys his smoothness. The carpets match the drapes, and it can be a little shaggy and wild down there if he skips out on trimming and shaving. It’s coarse and black hair.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Raditz likes to have intimacy when he has sex. It can be something that is very special between a Saiyan and his mate, and even though he’s been with lots of women, he’s decided to choose you as his mate. He loves you and wants you to feel wanted and needed when he fucks you. Though, sometimes he can be a little rough.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Raditz will jack off if you aren’t around. Sometimes if he’s out on missions on distant planets, he’ll think of you and start to touch himself. He loves the memories of your best love making sessions and those are usually the fodder that helps him get over the edge.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Raditz has mostly dominant kinks. He likes to pin you down and fuck you hard, but he does also have a blowjob kink, if you’d call it a kink. He loves having you suck on his cock and he adores watching you gag and drool all over his big dick. The way tears form in your eyes is so fucking hot for him. Raditz also has a pretty intense breeding kink, but most Saiyans do.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Raditz will literally take you anywhere. He doesn’t care where he fucks you, as long as he gets to fuck you. He also doesn’t really care about people watching you guys either, since most Saiyans don’t really pay attention to that sort of thing either. Raditz does love fucking you in the shower a lot, since everything is so much slipperier and wetter. It just gets him going if he gets to wash your body first...
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
All you need to do is just squeeze his inner thigh, play with his hair a little and tell him how badly you need his cock deep inside you. He’s also into you teasing him a little and maybe talking dirty as well. It doesn’t take too much for him to get turned on, so you basically only have to tell him that you’re horny and Raditz will fuck you.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Raditz isn’t super into anal, nor is he super into golden showers or anything like that. He doesn’t mind hurting you a little if you like that kind of thing, but he’d never fatally hurt you. That’s just not feasible, and considering he loves you so much, he’d be heartbroken if he were ever to take it that far.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Raditz is huge on blowjobs. He fucking loves them so much. His knees go weak and he absolutely loves fucking your face. He’ll make you choke and gag, and he’ll praise you while you deep throat that huge cock of his. It’s one of his favorite things in the world.
But, that doesn’t mean Raditz doesn’t like to give. He’ll spread your legs and slurp at you until you’re cumming over and over. If you try to close your legs, Raditz will pry them open and over stimulate you until you’re crying for him to stop.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Raditz is almost always rough. He needs to let go of a lot of his pent up anger and energy. He needs to take out his frustrations through sex, but you know he loves you regardless. Besides, he knows you can most definitely take it. If he’s feeling needy, he’ll take it slower and be surprisingly romantic. It can be sweet and sensual, but he’s usually rough.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Raditz enjoys quickies a lot, seeing as they are always a viable option for him. He enjoys the way he can just pump into you, fuck you hard and then make you walk away with his cum dripping out of you within minutes. It’s like a game to Raditz sometimes, and other times he likes to see how many times he can make you cum in under twenty minutes. Quickies are great, and he enjoys them very much so.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Raditz likes to take risks and he most definitely loves to experiment with you. He’ll tease you around people and probably will get caught fucking you from time to time, but as long as you don’t mind, Raditz doesn’t care. Most of the other Saiyans try to pretend that they don’t see this happening in front of them, so this doesn’t usually phase too many people.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Realistically, he could last for days. He’s a Saiyan, they have godlike stamina and they love to breed and fuck as much as they can. He lasts a long time, unless he’s been needing you for a long time, then he fills you up with his cum quickly. Regardless, you know he’s going to fuck you for a long time.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
It’s not really his thing, but he’s not opposed to them. If you wanted to have a vibrator or something like that, he would use it on you. He just figures it’s more fun if he can make you cum hard.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Raditz enjoys teasing, but he can only take so much teasing before he gets way too aroused. He’ll tease you a little, but if you beg him, he’s going to give in almost pretty much right away. He needs to be deep inside you, feeling your warmth around him.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Raditz is loud, but most of that is dirty talk. He loves telling you what he’s doing to you, or he enjoys making you beg and plead. It just makes him so much more aroused. He generally grunts as he ruts against you, telling you how good you’re taking his cock.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Raditz can be insecure sometimes, so you have to praise him and reassure him a lot. Nappa and Vegeta give him lots of shit, which gets under his skin a lot. It hurts his feelings, but his Saiyan pride makes it hard for him to be able to say anything about it. When it’s late at night and you’re both lying together in bed, he might tell you about how he feels. He trusts that you won’t repeat this information, and you would never.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Raditz has a nice girthy cock. It’s not super long, just a good 6 inches. It’s girthy, thick and it’s hard to get all of it in your mouth with gagging and choking. His balls are pretty nice and big as well, and he likes to keep them shaved clean for you to suck on.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
If Raditz isn’t busy doing something important, he’s most definitely down to fuck. He likes sex to be fun and spontaneous most times, so you can expect his sex drive to be pretty high. He’s not like Vegeta who wants to train all the time and forgoes sex for so long. Raditz needs to fuck to feel good.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Raditz is pretty quick to fall asleep after sex. He tries his best to stay up with you, but once he knows you’re all cleaned up and you’re feeling sleepy yourself, he just rolls over and falls into a deep sleep.

Why does the Dragon Ball Super manga have to do this? (Answer is that Bardock is popular.)
But still why?
Good (?) news is, now I actively dislike the Bardock retcon.
I defended it mostly because it was inconsequential. We were lead to believe Goku forgot everything and so it didn't matter.
And it was fine like that. Bardock and Gine were a joke in a small bonus chapter that ultimately didn't matter.
Of course, with Goku being aged up in the retcon, it opened up the possibility for more to be done with it and my storytelling senses always went off whenever I thought about how it was presented, but the manga really actually made it tangibly matter.
Yes, this is a leak so I'll reserve my complete judgement for the full chapter, but it seems like a pretty obvious leak.
The manga did the exact worst thing you could ever do with this setup.
I hate it so much.
I see a lot of people asking why Dragon Ball Minus sucks, so I'll put it in the most simple way possible: it downplays one of the most interesting aspects of Goku.
The initial Father of Goku TV special really played up the fact that Bardock was a horrible person. The Saiyan race was set-up to be a bunch of bloodthirsty savages – fully evil due to their nature and their culture.
I don't like when a story depicts a culture/race as fully evil – in my eyes that's not how the world works, but the counterpoint in the case of this narrative is that it makes a point about how people aren't fully bound to their nature.
Goku isn't his cold and cruel father because of circumstances: he happened to bump his head and then be taken in and make friends with good people.
But the retcon softens the blow pretty strongly, with Bardock turning into a better person because Gine is a Saiyan that happens to be nice.
Firstly, I hate that trope in its unnuanced form because it's all about a stereotypical 'sweet' female character 'changing' the rough warrior with their 'love'.
This trope not only leans into the obnoxious idea that women are here to change men and take responsibility for their feelings, but also considerably plays up the idea that Goku is just a product of anomalies within the Saiyan culture, not a product of his environment.
Technically, both nature and nurture matter in a person, but this is also just a narrative and specific focus will lead you to a specific conclusion.
You can nitpick the details, but now you can't really ignore the implication that Goku is simply just 'special' among the Saiyans not because of his circumstances, but because of his parents.
To me, that's just not that interesting.
And I think I see where it'll go, too.
Getting back his memories will likely inspire Goku either to go and kill Freeza because it'll hit him more personally that planet Vegeta and his parents were destroyed or to 'be a better parent' because his parents were nice to him.
It'll be used for a character arc that stood on a dubious ground to begin with because Goku's 'failures' as a parent have never been as egregious as the manga in particular has made them to be.
I actually really like this arc otherwise, too.
I like that the single-minded aspect of Goku's focus on Ultra Instinct is addressed.
I like that Vegeta had more detailed self-reflection that isn't just about his rivalry with Goku.
I think Granolah is genuinely consistent and I can feel for him based on previous context established surrounding the Saiyans.
And I like that the fights have much more interesting staging and environments.
But the Bardock stuff is so painfully boring because the only meaningful thing his character says is that he's totally just like Goku because he initially wasn't that good of a father, but then was changed by a generic gentle girl character in a culture of what we know as pretty militaristic and bloodthirsty.
A more nuanced depiction of a race is cool, but in this case it also contrasts pretty heavily with what we've known for years.
To me the issue isn't more nuance, it's how jarring the nuance comes across.
And yes, there is also this element of the Saiyans viewing kindness as weakness as much as physical weakness, but again it's jarring because it's such a strong contrast with previous depictions of Saiyans.
And as said, I was willing to look past all of these issues because new Bardock and Gine were inconsequential. They didn't matter in the big picture.
Well, now they do.
And I can even think of a number of alternatives how the story could've lead Goku down a much more prominent character arc without compromising these interesting elements of his character.
But, hey I liked the manga for a while.
Now it's back to trainwreck territory.
And once again, I place hope on the anime team to do their own thing because I absolutely think they have a much stronger grasp of the characters.
The foundations of the Moro, Granolah and even the Broly movie are solid.
I think the anime can make the good in all of them even pretty great.
I have much stronger faith is Super Hero for this reason, too.
But my hope absolutely rests on the anime team (and not even the *movie* team, but specifically the writers for the anime – and I *really* hope they get to do their own thing and not just adapt the manga, I even think they have to because the manga and anime differ pretty strongly) now because even with some plot issues they still do the characters much better.
Yes, I still think the fundamentals for Goku's character work with this reveal. The most fundamental part of his character to me is that his strength mostly comes from hard work, but anything else is now pretty heavily downplayed.
It's such a shame for me – pretty bummer spoilers.

{+}// beginning of DBS: absolute joke, why did they remake the movie and make it trash? The concept of other universes and fights between them? Loved it. And then the manga continued and it honestly sucks… The villains aren’t very creative. Then there’s Vegeta; I really adored Vegeta’s development but he’s lost so much of what makes him, him. They better not mess with Freeza’s character. If they make him into an allied good guy in any aspect of the word, I’ma be upset. Him and Aizen from Bleach are two of the most ruthless villains I adore. Manipulative, sadistic, homicidal assholes with a God Complex— Freeza’s sassiness~~— they better keep it. Even in Super when they had him join sides with the Z-Fighters he was still himself. (my dragon ball nerdy side is showing along with my love for Freeza, I know)

If the sonic series was to be rebooted, what would your biggest fears be?
Well.
If we’re talking about a full-scale reboot, like the one for Digimon Adventure that has been going on lately... I would say three things:
1) Shadow being with the Sonic Cast when most of his demeanor and mannerisms stem from his past, which Sonic BOOM tried to gut out and only left a Vegeta-clone in it’s wake. I’m not keen on seeing Shadow with the rest of the Sonic crew for this reason, as most of Shadow’s mannerisms are stemmed from him being the Ultimate Lifeform. As much as I would love to take that away from him and make him just a hedgehog with really cool skates, a good chunk of his personality is solidified from when that title meant something beyond ‘live forever’.
2) Getting rid of the Chaos Lore. I mean, it’s technically already happened in the series, but the Chaos Emeralds just being these fancy macguffins make more sense when they have the backing of something that made them that way, you know? Chaos and the Chao are so interesting as lore aspects of the series, getting rid of them would be like... Wow, how much am I thinking of anime today? It’d be like getting rid of Goku or Bulma from Dragon Ball, the story wouldn’t work without them.
3) Here’s the big thing that made me upset about the Digimon Adventure Reboot: getting rid of what made these characters great, and not expanding at all on what their characters are. Again, this has already happened in Sonic, but this is the one thing I cannot stand about reboots -- how they assume that whomever watches them already knows about these characters and they thus don’t need to expand on them. I feel that’s utter bullshit, and you should always assume that somebody is going to pick up something for the first time. Like Miyamoto-san once said, ‘Every game is someone’s first’. You can’t just assume that people know these characters already, even if it’s Sonic.
