Thank you so much that means a lot! But now, you’ve unveiled my trap card and given me an excuse to write my thoughts on Mizrak and Olrox, so this will get pretty long. Also, this may end up being very subjective/personal taste in some parts so I hope everyone doesn’t mind (and hope you don't mind the funky grammar!) This is an open discussion too, I’d like to hear everyone’s thoughts! 

Now with that out of the way here we go!

(This is old unfinished storyboards for a previous iteration of their makeup scene I did back in jan, never finished them due to uni/another project, I'd like to someday tho because guh the themes.)

Now first of all, I’d like to think that a proper makeup/conversation wouldn’t happen for a bit and would be drawn out because they’re both still hurt, angry, sad, and confused at not only each other but themselves. They’re not the type to get into loud verbal arguments for this, definitely some verbal jabs at each other though. Mean petty comments, oh absolutely. I’d like to personally believe they’d still yearn for each other, perhaps even more so after Olrox indirectly confessed and Mizrak practically turned it down. 

Now, there are soooo many different ways that they’d even see each other again, many different ways it could come to that initial point where they’ve made up. Though I’ll go with one of my personal idea (which people keep egging me on to animate WHICH… I dunno I don’t have free time rn so I’m just blurting it out into written format while I can 😭 I want to though, maybe later in the year for fun if season 2 doesn’t beat me to it). 

Have to establish my vision, but I’d think that Richter, Maria, Annette, Alucard and Mizrak are hopping from abandoned town to abandoned town due to the inability to return to Macheoul for the time being. While Olrox has been on his own (doing what, I’m not even sure my personal headcanon for this.) I think Alucard and Mizrak have a conversation about Alucard’s past in a group setting and it strikes a chord with the monk- since after all, Alucard’s dad is THE Dracula, and his mother (bless her, I miss her) is human. You know how that whole backstory goes, and it parallels Olrox a lot. Also Mizrak and Annette will absolutely have a deep conversation too. Just solely from the comment that was made: 

“We’re all descended from gods, we just have to learn how to draw their power.” Nocturne s1 ep 2

Annette clearly having powers from Haitian gods, absolutely challenging how Mizrak was only certain of one God. Yes, Mizrak is extremely stubborn and it will take him a bit, but he’s different from the Abott in the sense that he will not let religion blind his path to good. He ‘uses his head’ as said before, not god, not the church- his head. Mizrak’s idea of the church and his faith is now a mess and it’s up to him on how he interprets it and rewrites it knowing what he knows now (this is important I swear when it comes to the makeup scene).

Now we’re at the actual scene at hand: Olrox and Mizrak making up.

Side note: oh god I’m practically writing this whole thing as if its going to be played out for an episode, but that’s how it works in my brain LOL but you asked so you shall receive. I am so sorry HAHA

There’s been a lot of build up from this point where they have been meeting up here and there by themselves, but you can clearly tell whenever they do they both hurt and yearn- which would lead to their proper makeup scene. I’m just inserting this for fun, but I’d imagine this would take place in an abandoned church in the town they’re camping in for the night. For a lot of symbolic reasons; devotion, sacrifice, forgiveness, gathering. This along with the simple fact, Mizrak’s relationship to the church has changed completely from here. I’d like to think that even when he’s trying to rekindle that connection with God, it leaves that icky overcoat on his skin. 

“Faith is a company in the hardest of times, when the world abandons you.” Nocturne ep 3

The church indeed had saved him from whatever terrible horrific thing happened to him in the past, however whatever saved him can still be horrible and terrible too. It is infallible.  It is cruel in an attempt to gather community and peace. So, yes- faith can be company when the world abandoned him, but his faith is no longer with the church. He’s taking it back and finding some place else to rest it. (Olrox, it’s Olrox, probably ooc but I’m making it Olrox). 

In this church, the conversation between them will initially start as a discussion about religion, faith and that whole sort of deal. It’ll open up about Mizrak exact struggles from his mouth and how he particularly feels about it, then we get more insight onto Olrox’s thoughts, his perception of the church and perhaps even a deep dive into Aztec history again. Maybe even talk about Olrox’s Quetzalcoatl form, though really this is self indulgent. It’s an aspect I’d absolutely love to be explored and I think it being discussed in revere in a Catholic Church,  with Mizrak actually being open to it due to his new perspective? Oh my god, sign me up. Regardless, it would hold similar energy to episode 6: Gulity Men to be Judged. There’s a weight to it. 

Then it gets heavier when the conversation pivots.  

Mizrak’s attachment in the church was due to him caring about people and, hypothetically, to save him from whatever detriment came for him in the past. The last canon interaction, their falling out they had in season 1 was because he cared about others. To a fault. Now, here he is, standing in front of someone he cares about. It’s going to open a conversation between what’s happening between them and finally properly discuss what happened from their last canon interaction in nocturne season 1. 

A lot of finger and hand brushing from Olrox, which at first I’d think gets no reaction as an attempt for restraint before Mizrak warms up to it and even reciprocates by doing the same thing. All of this is very gentle in my opinion. It’s slow, tender, and most importantly vulnerable. It has the physical contact reminiscent of their first fast rough and tug in the courtyard and piggybacks off the vulnerability they both have when they both stand next to the window in episode 6. They probably also just physically get closer to each other at the moment. Just gradually though. The distance gets closer and closer until their foreheads are practically touching without them realizing it. They’re comfortable though, they don’t want to leave. 

They absolutely get to a point where they both admit to saying “I love you” without straight up saying “I love you” because that’s just a very them thing. Or maybe they do straight up state because Olrox does admit he was in love (with his partner) and doesn’t shy from that fact. It’s a nice conversion of the trope and great to hear from a mlm couple to say I love you… but man do I do love when characters get all poetic-y when their profess their devotion to each other by literally talking in prose, so maybe with good writing both can be done and still be quite powerful but still be gentle. 

In my interpretation YEAH I’LL MAKE THEM KISS AFTER THIS, this is my vision after all. Also, yeah they’re gonna fuck. In the church? Perhaps. Is it a tad OOC, maybe. HOWEVER, consider imagery and symbolism. I just think the image of it would be great, even if it was censored to hell and back, it can be so artistically done. Just imagine the implication alone with me for a second. I think the whole concept of doing it in a church is an interesting build upon the quotes from the show;

“God is not here. This church is an empty box.” From the first Castlevania series.

“House of God? This place is just a heap of bricks and stone.” From Nocturne said by Maria. 

The church is a husk, especially having it abandoned- it’s rather what you do with that box that makes all the difference. The people inside are the driving force, so I think it’s both poetic and funny to have Mizrak and Olrox fucking in an abandoned church. Surface level: fuck you god I’m fucking my hot vampire boyfriend in your house. Deeper level: I could write a whole thing on this but I’ll refrain. You can get the gist of breaking free of restraint, and devotion and letting himself be human, rather than a soldier (which he already slowly does). 

Though also this sex scene isn’t necessary, I just like exploring explicit content in artistic ways, especially if I can throw in religious symbols and heighten that hunger/devotion to a person- but the “I love you” in the church is pretty powerful already.  

Then after all of this they take it at their own pace. However, they only live life once and continue together like that- they both know this concept very well because of the very nature of who they are, so they spend it in each other’s company. 

Now you also get the squad’s reactions, well namely because I do not think this would be an easily hidden thing. Like absolutely could get away with it in season 1, but everyone will know something is up for sure in my iteration. The 'hypothetical' Mystery Animator season 2 iteration. As subtle as their longing stares and quiet hand touches may be reserved for just them- those little interactions are loud.

Richter would absolutely be in shambles over Olrox, the killer of his mother, and Mizrak being a thing. Both in a “this is the most horrible thing that’s happened in my life” and also a he’s going to be an absolute shithead to Mizrak and make fun of him, lightheartedly of course. Alucard would absolutely have an interesting perspective because again, his parents. Maria already has disdain for the church plus the “vampires are evil… and evil has to be fought.” However, in the presence of Alucard, I think a lot will change because he’s half-vampire. Annette, I’m unsure of what her reaction would be, because I’m very sure she’d be receptive to Alucard being a vampire and then would appreciate Olrox’s mindset and values. However, gonna keep hammering, Olrox killed Julia Belmont which I feel will be comedically hammered in if Olrox decides to hang around the squad occasionally. 

And with that, we’re done! (I think)

Daily Dragon #126 - Hothead

Happy 40th anniversary TMNT!! I've been wanting do draw Hothead, or just some TMNT dragon, for a bit now. Soooo, why not take advantage of the anniversary, right?

This is my own design inspired by a few different sources, mainly the action figure and tournament fighters' boxart and his in game sprite. There's a LOT more TMNT dragons than I think you realize, so dont be surprised if I do another one later

Daily Dragon #127 - Marci Midas

Saw all the really good gold week posts and the idea of like, a dragon that hordes gold wearing a golden bikini came to my mind so I thought I'd try making her. I'm not 100% satisfied with how it came out but I think the concept is hot enough, and she's already finish so- yeah

Large, kind, and fluffy dragons who just love love! They're very affectionate, love hugging, and are kind to everyone they encounter. Similar to Capybaras, they seemingly have no natural enemies

okay that aside, I do have a few for the LoS! I've been in PMTOK since the game launched :) Get ready for a lot of text, pal!

Headcanon time.

Olly created each member very carefully, and let their personalities develop over training, which all took place before the events of PMTOK. Olivia didn't know about his full plan during this time, she thought he'd just build a kingdom, not take over existing ones.

Olly was made years before the 2020 Origami Festival, giving the Craftsman time to raise him and stuff. This made the betrayal harder on Olly.

Olly has dark magic, and Olivia has light magic. The Origami Craftsman made them to represent Yin and Yang, and to create balance in the potential Origami Kingdom.

Olly is EXTREMELY ATTACHED to the LoS, they felt like his only family after feeling so betrayed by the Origami Craftsman (and later, Olivia).

The Origami Craftsman actually made Stapler for Olly when he was younger! Olly's had Stapler since it was a puppy :)

Colored Pencils draws himself and the Legion in his freetime. They're his family and he cherishes them.

Rubber Band and Hole Punch make a great duo, with Hole Punch’s Dances and Rubber Band’s singing. They like to take turns with the spotlight.

Hole Punch has ADHD, and can't pay attention very well. He’s found that music helps him focus. (this may or may not be projecting)

Scissors will often hide their emotions, in fear that people will see them as “weak” if they’re shown to be emotionally vulnerable. They only trust the rest of the LoS with their emotional state.

Tape acts as the "most mature" of the LoS, he keeps everyone in line. They all see him as a sort of older brother figure.

Tape knows a lot of fun ocean facts! He likes to study sea stuff in his free time.

Scissors was actually pretty chill before Olly initated the war. They only discovered their love for bloodshed and sadistic nature during the training. Things got 100% worse when they realized they were the last Legion member alive, that completely broke them mentally.

Hole Punch's voice can influence the other LoS members to a degree, he uses this to calm them all down. This only works because they're all connected to Olly's magic, so it doesn't work on others. (like Mario, Bobby, Olivia, etc etc)

Colored Pencils uses He/They/It, Rubber Band uses It/Its, Hole Punch uses He/They, Tape uses He/Him, and Scissors uses They/Them.

okay just olly headcanons this time except a lot of it is projecting onto him

Olly is extremely self conscious about his public image and being perfect.

Olly has ADHD and Autism, but sees this as a problem and something that makes him “imperfect”.

Olly tends to fidget with small objects when he’s bored, like his earrings or the end of his cape.

Olly has an extremely hard time sleeping, much to his dismay.

Olly tends to shut himself in his room a lot, drowning out the rest of the world with music.

Olly loves piano music, and tends to listen to it to calm down. He also knows how to play piano, this headcanon is due to the little piano melody in the beginning of his battle theme (0:06 to 0:10). Faster melodies when he’s stressed or angry, softer melodies when he’s calm and content.

Olly seems like the kind of person who would know the lyrics to all the disney villain songs, but wouldn't sing around people. (He specifically likes “Be Prepared” from the Lion King)

Before Olly went mad with power and noticed the “scribble” on his stomach, the Origami Craftsman would sing/hum lullabies to Olly to help him sleep or calm down. Olly later passes this through the family by doing the same with Olivia and the Legion to help them sleep or calm down.

He for the love of god cannot control his anger, he tries to stay composed but my GOD is he petty.

Instead of 4th of July, The Mushroom Kingdom has the Origami Festival on July 17th. July 17 is also Olly’s birthday.

Olly hates emotions in general- not from other people, from himself. He hates feeling things and a lot of the time tries to hide his emotions.

Olly is actually very fun loving! He enjoys singing and dancing, festivals, etc.. he just 'grew up too fast' and prioritizes his kingly duties. He thinks it isn't okay for him to "be childish". He envies Olivia's innocence.

Olly takes a huge interest in the legends surrounding the Crystal Stars and the Shadow Queen, even more so since the Craftsman is a descendant of one of the Four Heroes. He rereads the stories about it a lot.

My version of events

Me and my sister got a sort of AU thing going on- and we both say it's canon we're nintendo real

During the ending festival, Mario thinks back to everything that happened, and how Olivia and Olly didn't really have a chance to LIVE. Sure, they were alive, but they didn't get to experience the world as it is, they didn't get to be kids. (Olly is 18, Olivia is 15) Mario decided to do what Olly did.. and with the help of Luigi, Bowser, Peach, and the Toads, the 1000 Paper Crane wish happened again. Olly, Olivia, and the LoS were all brought back to life. They all reside in Peach's Castle until Olly can handle his emotional/mental state and create his own Origami Kingdom, allied with the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms. Olly learns by observing how Peach rules and acting as a sort of assistant to her! (Later viewing Peach as a mother figure)

Olivia ends up meeting the rest of Mario's sidekicks, like Kersti, Goombella, Huey, and the Captain of the Odyssey... Cappy! Together they go on adventures in the Odyssey and explore the world, able to have fun and excitement if Mario is too busy. Olivia gets a good kick out of it and is more than happy to go, she sends postcards to Olly.

The Legion of Stationary all settle down and begin focusing on their passions rather than being soldiers for Olly, since he no longer needs that of them. Pencils persues his art, Rubber Band persues it's acting career, Hole Punch decides to help entertain Toad Town with music and dance, Tape begins working with Captain T. Ode to be closer to the oceans.. and Scissors decides to make use of their love for combat, giving training sessions to Toads who want to help protect the Kingdom.

Maybe I'll go on about the AU in another post, this is already long enough- BETCHA DIDN'T EXPECT ALL THAT, HUH?

This handwriting is diff than how he wrote his name on that scan sheet in so I’m glad I can see his natural handwriting and not the neater one for tests and such, also the 😩 emoji he drew out I’m cryinggggg he’s so silly 😭😭😭 and I loved the little drawings he did in the book too, esp the cute version of the spider and the hearts around the bite!!! His memory is so fucking good too, to be able to remember all the details in the people he’s drawn and a spider he hasn’t seen in a long while (or a few days, idk when he actually drew this part)! This one is soooo fucking funny to me. Bro can’t stand his ass he really can’t believe this is NYC’s new protector. Miles needed to get charged 50% more for embarrassing himself and by extension me bc I had to defend him here. It is a quick moment with him and Lenny (I think that’s his name?) but I like to think that they know each other, or at least have a friendly relationship for Miles to be so casual about this. If I really wanted to reach, and I do, I would say that he knows it’s Miles lol bc the voice is a dead giveaway.

THIS IS MY FAV PAIR OF PHOTOS TODAY. So I love the squinty then closed eyes, the use of his other powers besides the usual spider-man abilities, AND how he’s using them effectively but ends up indirectly causing a blackout ! Of course this isn’t the way I wanted it to go, I would prefer him being the direct cause in a scenario where maybe he takes the energy or overloads it to the point of a blackout, BUT this was funny, and it was still basically what I really hoped to see! And wasn’t this robot villain super similar to a robot toy either Miles or Ganke had in their dorm room??? can you imagine that the villains have more merch than Miles does and Ganke makes sure to remind him of that 😭😭😭 help

Now listen I think Miles would be ADORABLE. SO PRECIOUS. SO SILLY. with a few hairs actually above his lip. He swears it’s a full on mustache but it looks like he drew it on with eyeliner. Can you imagine how similar he’d look to Aaron when he laughs AND has those few hairs? He’d be ecstatic and would be showing them off to everyone he knows, he’s telling his dad that he’s a man now and can’t be grounded and that his curfew needs to be later, Rio’s probably only egging it on and Jeff is so proud but SO annoyed bc both him and spider-man, by pure coincidence, are starting to act like they’re much more mature and above anything and everybody in the way teenagers are when they reach a milestone, only to still be an anxious teenager underneath the new attitude lol. Oh my stars!! Of course!! Well first of all a disclaimer, in my fem multiverse (hearts multiverse) drink could and will never happen. However I can write about a fem multiverse with drink!!

Well first of all I obviously have to mix your regular Drink stuff in there. Ink is soooo refreshing!! When she approaches Dream for the first time it isn’t because ‘oh wow you’re the guardian of positivity!!’ But because ‘OH MY STARS!! Your colour palette is BEAUTIFUL!! It’s so harmonious! Your hair is beautiful! I love your eyes!!’

Ink is always touching Dream in some way. They can’t always be together because protecter & guardian duties so whenever they are Ink will be holding her hand, leaning against her or just cuddling her in general. And I know I already said this about Kross but you can’t tell me Ink isn’t braiding Dream’s hair every day!! Literally any ship with Ink she will always be braiding the other person’s hair you can’t tell me no!!

Sometimes when Dream has had an extra bad day she’ll crawl into bed with Ink and just cuddle with her. No words, just cuddles. Ink’s body heat is nice, it makes Dream wonder if that’s what her aura feels like.

And OH!! If Dream isn’t a perfect model I don’t know who is. Ink loves drawing her. She could be posing or could be getting on with her day and Ink is immediately struck with inspiration. If anybody asks who it is she’ll always respond ‘my wife’ whether they’re married or not. I feel like watercolours would be her favourite method of colouring the Dream drawings in.

They are so domestic cottagecore lesbians they do that trend where they melt chocolate in the sun and dip strawberries in it. They’re so sweet I can’t stand them it’s too much!! I can imagine Ink painting on Dream’s face and doing her makeup and stuff, it gets to a point where Dream will refuse to go out of Ink hasn’t done it. Nightmare will try to attack an AU but Dream and Ink will appear holding hands and it just obliterates her immediately. The gang is stuck gathering her off the floor for weeks.

These two take so many baths together it’s not even funny. Just nice relaxing baths (there are so many fucking bubbles in there I can’t tell if they’re actually in the bath or not where are they) they have so much (nonsexual) fun and oh stars we’ve been in here for hours!! And then they’ll take even longer to get ready because they’re just cuddling each other to stay warm instead of getting changed!!

pop rock, my dear pop rock, i haven’t completely decided their pronouns or anything so it’s just any/all for now (i’m torn between a very fruity guy and a woman that will not hesitate to literally Crush You Under Her Heel for personal benefit…) (<- JUST HAD AN IDEA RE-READING THIS- WHAT IF THEY’RE BOTH???)

so!! where to start? pop rock is the owner of an illegal phighting ring somewhere in playground where people bet on who will win n stuff like that, they’re manipulative and constantly do things to benefit them and only them to get money, they don’t have many connections or friendships (that i’ve decided for the time being, they might have like. a singular friend or something but who knows!!) they put on a fake nice personality as they only refer to themself as “pop” (something like that…) just to be a little more unassuming, they only use their full name when they’re not acting off a character. they work for a boss that takes a cut of the money they earn from the totally legal phights going on at their humble establishment, the actual arena is placed underground in a very protected area under a bar that they own that just sells normal drinks and such. the people they hire to phight each other have contracts and all that complicated stuff that i haven’t quite fleshed out yet soooo…

the lore is currently held up by duct tape and dreams so there’s a LOT that might change!!

-> they narrate their own games in the arena and when shit gets interesting they’re prone to laughing maniacally over the speakers… it scares the shit out of everyone there

-> they do not care for anyone phighting in the arena and don’t have any healers or anything in the premises so if you get hurt badly it’s your fault (as per the contract!!) (they might end up caring about someone and maaaaybe that’ll lead to them being friends or something but i haven’t decided yet)

-> no one really knows why they do what they do besides them just finding it fun watching people beat the crap out of each other so

-> they really like ring pops and it’s one of their favourite candies :]]

-> they still have their childhood plushie on their night stand- admittedly it’s got a burnt ear and torn out leg but they love it regardless

-> they are able to play the guitar (their gear) without hurting anyone… most of the time…

-> they lack empathy for most people

-> they used to be in lost temple with the rich before leaving… seems like their parents didn’t like them too much and dumped them in playground!

gonna delete my other interactions with That Person because I don’t think it’s worth arguing with them. and honestly I feel bad for the nice or like. the normal bisexuals because SO. many. of these bisexuals are aggressively annoying about it. every lesbian I know has had a bad run-in with a bisexual.

Because this particular bisexual person also seemed to have a fundamental misunderstanding of how writing fucking works in a way that makes me SO mad.

Because like— you can headcanon that any character with straight hair really has curly hair and straightens it. You can. Word of god can even confirm that’s the case! But that STILL doesn’t matter if canon doesn’t portray them with curly hair. Because even something as seemingly insignificant as curly hair is going to have a domino effect on the character.

If they straighten it, why? Are they insecure? Have they been made fun of? Is it because it’s too much work? Why does Word of God say they have curly hair, but none of their childhood pictures have curly hair? Why isn’t there a hair straightener in their bathroom?

If there’s none of those things— then the character doesn’t have fucking curly hair, now do they? Even if later in the series their hair becomes curly, is there any evidence to support that the hair is naturally curly? Do they have a hair regimen they follow? Do they have curly hairbrushes? Sleep in a bonnet? No? Then they’re not written to have curly hair.

Only thing is, romance is a whole fucking lot more noticeable than with ever or not they give a curly character a bonnet. Romance can make or break a story. And it’s pretty fucking important for the characters to be attracted to each other.

There are SO, so many ways to showcase sexual attraction. Even in kids shows, you can! And it doesn’t have to be with their endgame romance, either! Luz Noceda, a bisexual character written by a bisexual woman, shows attraction to Shirtless Angsty Boy, Edric and Emira and Amity, blatantly. The last of which is her endgame relationship. (Because if a bisexual character is ending up in a relationship, it’s waaay better to have it be a same-sex relationship— considering Lumity is probably why Disney cancelled the show in the first place.)

And like, for shows actually about adults— New Girl. All the men in this are bisexual. Nick Miller is definitely bisexual. It’s not stated explicitly, but he’s explicitly attracted to women and seems to have feelings towards men he is actively in-denial of. Psych — Shawn Spencer’s actor has literally said he played him to be bisexual, and it shows. I’ll believe he’s attracted to women for Abigail alone. I’ll believe he’s attracted to men for everything else.

I’ll believe Sokka is bisexual. His romances with Suki and Yue are believeable enough. Like, I’m not saying nothing can be bisexual— I AM saying that it has to actually be bisexual to be bisexual, though.

Anyway. Zuzu isn’t canonically gay but it makes more sense if he is and for a more compelling story— the fire nation is canonically homophobic, so if he’s gay then that’s another thing for his father to consider wrong about him, since he can’t fall in love with a woman. And Mike? Well, if he were bisexual he’d be a filthy, filthy cheater and I’m personally against media portraying bisexuals as cheaters. As it is, he’s like aggressively gay-coded.

And I am soooo tired of seeing bisexual Jamie Kelly allegations. I know hardly anyone seems to talk about these books but.

she’s LYING to you! she doesn’t actually have a crush on Hudson! She’s literally supposed to be an unreliable narrator. She calls him the 8th cutest boy in her school and calls Angeline the prettiest girl in the world. She thinks it should be illegal for girls to be too pretty. She went through a year-long phase as a kid of drawing nothing but naked Barbies. She describes Angeline as causing “everyone” to feel a “mild, but pleasant burning sensation.”

Like YES, yes it DOES offend me for people to interpret these characters as bisexual— and you know why? Because comphet is a universal gay experience. Because people STILL cite the comphet things I said as a kid as proof of my “heterosexuality”. There’s so many gay people who have been in straight relationships before, or who have pretended to have straight crushes.

If a character’s only proof of heterosexual attraction is comphet, then they’re not experiencing heterosexual attraction. If the only proof is a forced, stale straight romance that the writers threw in there effortlessly, of which the character is not shown to be into? Then that’s not a character experiencing heterosexual attraction.

Honestly when I started drawing TFs like 3 years ago it was my first proper exposure to drawing robots, and I still really struggle with figuring out how to draw them. It’s so different from drawing organic things. I unfortunately dont know how much help I can be as I still am not satisfied with how I myself draw them hahaha!

This isn’t advice but just explaining my thought process a little bit: I personally have more fun drawing organic forms, as opposed to structural/geometric, so I try to adapt TF designs to mimic the forms of human anatomy (like our musculature). This is easiest with the MTMTE designs, as they’re so complicated it’s easy to shift around and adapt the design to something more organic. G1-style designs are soooo blocky that they are difficult for me to draw unless they’re pretty simple drawings haha.

As for actual advice, all I can say is just to keep drawing them & look at other artist’s drawings of robots too :) I know that’s super lame advice but it’s applicable to anyone, regardless of your own personal aesthetic tastes & desires, everyone improves with time (and it helps to have a wide range of artistic influences too!). Sorry I don’t have anything more specific, thank you for the ask!!

Traffic Life Superpowers AU - Etho/Joel/Lizzie

I have a superpowers au (look at the link above for the full au) and jizztho is a ship within it! They are heroes and they are in a polyam marriage. The fic they are featured in is called honeybees, I'm home, but here's the summary on Tumblr if you don't want to jump to AO3 quite yet. Look under the cut for their powers!

Etho Honeybee (They/Them) Alter Ego: Slab Status: Human Hero Power(s): Etho has tough, jagged teeth despite being otherwise human (assumed to be a gene passed down that was finally showing itself), a freakishly long tongue (think Hero Killer from MHA or Valentino from Hazbin Hotel), and intoxicating spit. The intoxication’s effects differ greatly but they range from making the victim unreasonably happy to drunk to poisoned. The longer the victim is exposed to the intoxication, the greater the effect and duration it has. Safe to say, Etho doesn’t use it often and they wear a mask to avoid spitting while they speak, which was a thing they did as a small child before they started wearing a mask and grew out of it. When they do use it, it is usually in vials they have spit in previously. Etho tends to fight with various martial arts and fighting moves they have picked up over the years.

Fun Fact: The reasoning behind their powers is that I like giving things in canon a reason behind them! Since they always wear a mask, I wanted to give them funky mouth stuff so they ended up with jagged teeth, a long tongue, and spit that drugs people. I imagine they would want to stay somewhat discreet so they have a simple alter ego name.

Joel Honeybee (He/Him) Alter Ego: Helter Skelter (Hel Skel) Status: Bug Hybrid Hero Power(s): Joel is a bug hybrid and no one knows which one. His whole family line has had bug traits in it and they’ve given up on trying to figure out which bug it is. They’re too similar and they joke that they’ve probably created their own bug at this point. Anyway, his manifests in green antennas. The antennas can detect odors in the air, making him fairly good at pinpointing smells and tracking things though it can take some time. A fault is he often focuses on one specific smell or is so used to tuning it out that he becomes oblivious to things he should have picked up. Joel’s skin also has an alternate version of an exoskeleton. It is essentially hardened skin that is resistant to damage. When it experiences a lot of damage, it starts to molt off and he has to wait for the ‘exoskeleton’ to fully harden back up. This process takes four to seven days, depending on the damage, Joel’s diet, Joel’s energy levels, and etc. (It is jokingly referred to as Joel’s period by me and others, specifically his spouses, in the story.)

Fun Fact: Helter Skelter is an overly extra name, but I think it fits Joel well (plus it is a reference to SL) because look at this man! I love him so much. Anyway, I pulled his abilities from the antennas he's often drawn with because of Shrek past. He deserves to be a little bug boy!

Lizzie Honeybee (She/Her) Alter Ego: Shadowlady Status: Fairy Hero Power(s): Lizzie has beautiful, pink and silver wings and she can shrink to be about six inches tall (~15.24 cm). She can not morph herself into any other size though; it’s either her usual height or her little fairy height. She can also hide and swim in shadows, making her a great “fly (fairy) on the wall”. Might add more shadowy powers in the future, but I'm not sure which ones soooo :D

Fun Fact: I love it when people draw Lizzie with fairy wings because of the Fairy Fort in LL so, of course, I made her a fairy! Shadowlady is an obvious reference to her username. I try to not make their last names (Honeybee is a reference to Lizzie's SL; Joel and Etho took Lizzie's last name) an indication of their powers because that's boring. She's also an example of someone whose abilities aren't necessarily tied to her hybrid status. Hybrids are simply humans who have traits associated with other creatures, but they are technically abilities in a way? People can have multiple or similar but still distinct abilities at one time. Some people have really straightforward ones and others have more complex ones. It depends on how their genes mutated and decided to present in the specific person.

Sorry for the ramble in your inbox incoming- I'm a really huge fan of your analysis type posts like the ones about Cathal and recently Flint ;A; So I hope its ok to maybe throw in my own 2 cents about Cogs/their society- (Sorry this gets rambly I thought about this last night and writing this like an hour after waking up lol)

I think what alot of people kind of (I wouldnt say ignore- more of:) don't really get is that I dont believe characters like Cathal or Flint have bad tendencies because they really want to in a way, (I kind of worded that poorly but point is) but because their society rewards and encourages that type of behavior. I think you said something kind of similar on Cathals post- But especially for Flint, whose a Bossbot (Who are literally the embodiment of a toxic workplace and elitism. I believe a old snippet from the TTO magazines says "They have no real skills of their own, just the ability to push down others and stay on top!" Or something to that nature.) he has to be demanding and imposing. There is no benefit to him in being kind. (Like looking at Misty for example) And don't get me wrong I don't believe that if Flint and Cathal were removed from Cog society they'd be better/objectively nicer (Like Flint not being condescending to Toons and Cathal not making people do things for him and being encouraged to try) But I do wonder how much of it is pressure, or how much of it is egged on and rewarded. Atleast in the aspects it relates to how they treat others.

(..And also I wonder what happens to Cogs that don't get jobs and are seen as ..not functioning. Since Graham was freaking the hell out in "Meeting Of Two Minds" over the possibility of not getting the job. I have a whole thing about this actually in my oc lore but thats another thing entirely I'll write about someday I swear)

Also I gasped when I saw the doodle of Graham in the MSI shirt finally a MSI listener Graham truther. I think he'd like the album "How I Learned To" and of course "You'll Rebel To Anything". I associate him mainly with the songs "Lights Out", "On It", and "You're No Fun Anymore" :p (This has been my favorite band since I was like 13 and now I get to spill all my opinions xD) I always imagined him doing the guitar backbend their bassist does! And my final hc is that Flint plays bass and Graham plays the main guitar. I think it fits them .. some people overlook bass when its actually pretty hard to learn from what I hear and vital to the song. (Like heres Feel Good Inc w/o the bass.. feels wrong x_x)

THe biggest issue with Cogs Inc is that it REWARDS and ENCOURAGES these poor behaviors, worsening these characters as people. ESPECIALLY cathal considering the position of power they’re in. I’m sure it applies to a ton of other cogs too, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten to them yet bc I’m not as insane abt them . LMAO

And yeah since cogs are literally built for work, it’s a wonder what happens to those who can’t find a job as easily as others. Hoping that gets built on since it’s clear in MOTM that these cogs have to actually apply and go to interviews and probably face some trial and error to land a job, just like people IRL.

ALSO. THE BAND HCS. I love it and you’re SOOOO RIGHT about the backbend that is so grahamcore. And yes I’m pretty sure Flint does play bass, I think his creator mailman said smth abt that on their blog . AND IM SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT UP FEEL GOOD INC bc i did draw flint in a demon days shirt in that same animatic . And ive def drawn them in the same shirt a couple times in the past too . I’ve always imagined him to be a Gorillaz fan, maybe graham too

Finally finished her ref last night, soooo here’s my Lor gijinka! I’ll be adding some notes about her functionality under a readmore.

Though she can assume her ship form, most of the time she prefers being person shaped instead; having hands and an expressive face is fun and convenient! Plus, it’s pretty hard to hug your loved ones when you’re a boat, and hands are better for head pats than oars. When switching between being an android and a ship, her interior remains unchanged, while her exterior is reorganized and scaled up or down as needed. Her cape is her sail, for example, with the materials just… shuffled around a bit. The parts of her mast that it had attached to take the forms of clips: a small pair on her shoulders to hold it in place, and a slightly heavier pair to add weight and reduce flutter. You’d think that’d keep her cape grounded, but one of the ways her wind element manifests is having it always seem to be flowing in an eternal breeze, just like her sail does normally. Evidently her creators had an eye for flair and a lack of concern for what was and wasn’t necessary, and giving their magical boats the ability to do backflips just wasn’t good enough for them. They were right btw

Each of her wings has a decent range of motion, from the main elbow joints down to individually adjustable feathers, but they’re made of metal and even the feathers don’t have much flex to them. Her top wings are slightly longer than her middle ones, which in turn are a bit longer than the bottom pair, somewhat mirroring the wings she has as a ship. Though her oars are firmly attached under normal circumstances, in her combat mode(which I will draw later) they can essentially act as really big throwing knives at the flick of a wing. So, y’know, maybe reconsider fucking around and finding out when she has a purple color scheme. Regardless of which mode she’s in, her wings are primarily for generating lift and controlling her direction and orientation; she has thrusters on her feet and lower body that allow her to reach high speeds. When not in use they assume a resting position that has them mostly tucked away to be less inconvenient, but doors are always a bit of an obstacle regardless. Alas, being big is not without its downsides.
