ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels

there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.

anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

#if i had a laptop and the skillset i would attempt a story mod because the thief modders who create whole mission stories #are GENIUS and also somewhat terrifying. love them! xoxox #anyway im actually kind of obsessed with parts of thi4f but its also like. not at that sweet spot of almost good enough to be fun #to talk about. which. for the record. has not stopped me from talking about it at length to people #the city itself actually fucking fascinates me. its almost alive and im SO mad that not a single part of that game is actually terrifying #it should be gnarlier and instead it feels a bit like it doesn't quite want to be trapped in the story it has to tell?#but between the level that has the bodies on the meathooks #and the scene with the bodies hanging from the rafters or whatever that was and garrett living in a clock tower #because the game is very much ALMOST about changing times and authoritarian violence and capitalism #(like. by virtue of how the story sort of spins out i think it misses it's mark on a lot of stuff here #in the sense that i dont feel like it actually wants to tell that story. it wants to. go in a different direction. or at least walk on top #of those themes instead of through it)#ANYWAY between all of those things. it does kind of live in my head rent free. they did create a compelling setting #SHAME THEY DIDNT WANT TO ACTUALLY EAT ANY OF IT #unrelated but i would've given thi4f a 10/10 if they kept garrett's fucking nail polish from the concept art. cowards. unforgivable #thief the dark project #i still have no idea how to tag the game series as a whole RIP #sorry for the dedicated dark project fans. if you know what the general series tag is. please let me know #garrett thief #basso thief

#oh met gala boards how I've missed you ;_;#ok so Edwin. our wonderful smart kind Edwin.#obvi I went the Catholic route OF COURSE I DID #if it ain't broke don't fix it etc etc #but so ok my own personal theme for this was playing off of Edwin's time in hell PLUS the sin of lust #because I just think it's very interesting that lust almost tore him away from Charles I'm just saying IM JUST SAYING!!!!!#I chose some fun Alexander McQueen collections to go through for this one too #the first being the Dante collection obvi inspired by the inferno and it's a really fun collection so I'd definitely recommend looking it up #the second collection was one called Voss which was inspired by madness and the natural world #the last two pieces are both from 2024 one is a SS and the other is a FW look #the one with the body popping out of the back is a look by Robert Wun for his SS24 collection #and the body piece is from Thom Browne's FW24 collection #both of these pieces and collections are super interesting as well so I'd def recommend taking a look at those as well!#but yeah! Had a dream where Warframe has their own exhibit irl and it looks a lot like those fancy interactive art ones. Each warframe has their own room and theme, also the exhibition is right next to DE's HQ.

All of the models are 3D printed and you could even see how the abilities work with the work of practical and light effects that will change in a push of a button, complete with a disembodied voice (Lev?) that explains the ability to you.

One thing that stuck to me is that somewhere in the upper floor there is a bar that's themed around Lavos, where you'll be served drinks in various glass vials.

Does anyone remember Stanley?? It used to run on Playhouse Disney in the early 2000’s and I LOVED IT SO MUCH!! It was one of the first shows that inspired me to draw and inspired my love of animals when I was small!

The theme song ( which is an absolute 🤌🏼 BOP🤌🏼 btw) popped up in my head randomly the other day and I had the most brilliant crossover epiphany— and here it is ✨

i think one of the most ironic (?) parts of the conservative lu server is in the first couple games in the zelda series, before OoT introduced the current Hylian religion, there were many references to Christianity. There were crosses on shields, The book of magic was called a Bible in the original Japanese version but renamed for other versions, there is literally official art of alttp link kneeling in front of a crucifix.

Why not talk about any of that in your server? Its there, its zelda, its Christian. Literally perfect for your server. Instead you just want to say bigoted shit that you can't say other places because its so braindead no one wants to deal with it.

TLDR: conservative Lu discord server doesn't actually talk about the christian themes in the games, they just wanna be homophobic

I'm FINALLY through with Dressrosa which means I'll be seeing our main man again soon, but now I'm thinking about how long I'm going to be in Whole Cake Island... like it took me a (relatively) long time to get through Dressrosa and Sanji wasn't even there for most of it! With WCI I'm going to be pausing every 5 minutes to get screenshots! Lord help me, I'm going to be stuck there for the rest of my life...
