mischief members cast in starkid shows part 3: holy musical batman
batman: niall ransome
struggled with this one, but i think niall could commit to being as silly but dramatic as this role is. also the batman and robin duo would be iconic.
superman: henry shields
i think he could get the boastful arrogant side down, but also the kind of self-conscious and people pleasing element. if you want a specific line, i can hear him saying “that’s because i do my damn job” SO CLEARLY.
alfred: chris leask
i don’t know don’t look at me
robin: jonathan sayer
maybe it’s because of the nightmare on bone street duo of him and niall. maybe it’s because he and nick lang are both short. who knows. he simply fits the vibe.
sweet tooth: joshua elliott
i see an absolutely unhinged character and think “oh josh should play this part”. trevor noun vibes.
green lantern / scarecrow: greg tannahill
i know i’m mainly basing this off tgws or mmni, but also green lantern made me think of cooper from tcaabr. i think he could do the friendly but unhelpful energy. i haven’t thought about scarecrow or the narrator but i trust him with the role.
commissioner gordon: susan harrison
my mind immediately jumped to penelope in joffrey’s body from over the henge. i simply think she’d be great as an old man. also she could smash calendar man, just saying.
candy / poison ivy: charlie russell
charlie likes making things not family friendly. candy makes innuendos. i think it fits.
penguin / ensemble: harry kershaw
specifically him as the commissioner’s second in command/officer guy (whatever the fuck he’s called).
mr freeze / ensemble: henry lewis
he simply fits the vibe
sherlock holmes / ensemble: matt cavendish
ngl i forgot this part existed and then couldn’t remember a single thing about it (it’s been a while since i’ve watched hmb). so honestly i’m just hoping that this works. apologies if not, there were only two people left i could cast in this one and i landed on matt.
vikki vale / ensemble: nancy zamit
has she played a reporter before? if not she should.
catwoman/ ensemble: ellie morris
if i’m being honest, it was imagining her as the pizza lady that convinced me. like obviously she’d smash all of it but. idk i just really vividly saw her as the pizza lady.
riddler / ensemble: bryony corrigan
not to cast based on a very minor character again, but i really saw her as the tgi friday’s worker. sue me.

OK I saw a poll about something similar and now I am curious
-Assume it's a celebrity you like and that they haven't made a statement about this sort of thing.
-The celebrity in question is just casually out and about, they are not part of an event or panel.
-By "go up to them" I mean saying hello or asking for a picture
-If you have to talk to them as part of your job it doesn't count unless you also ask for something similar to the above.
-This is a judgement free zone, there is no correct answer I am just curious.
Inspired by this poll

you know what boils my blood.
over the last 2 weeks, i've seen countless patients walk into my urgent care center, symptomatic for so many things, refusing to get tested for covid and flu, citing that they don't want to knowingly bring it to their holiday tables. i had a patient tell me, verbatim, "i don't want to test for covid, because i don't want to be the asshole who brings it on a plane."
i understand that - i understand that holidays are times where people look forward to meeting loved ones that they might only see once a year, or where they get a break from the hectic back and forth of their lives.
but here's the thing - whether they get tested or not, they will bring whatever they have to their holiday tables. it's pure recklessness to know that you're sick, and walk into someone else's house spreading the disease.
today, january 2, i saw 91 patients, many of them who have tested positive for covid and flu. many of these patients are the same ones who didn't want testing 3 days ago, until their events were over, and now, they will have to reach out to everyone they know to let them know that they were positive because they were showing symptoms well before their event.
the next week or two? we're going to see many, many more, all people with symptoms that started around christmas. these are the only two viruses we test for rapidly in our office, but they are potent and can be fatal in many people.
so here's why i wrote this post, and maybe it's a little late, but - if you care about your loved ones, please get tested if you know you're sick. it doesn't have to be at a clinic if you don't want it to, because the over-the-counter tests work just fine too (if you test within 5-7 days of symptom onset). just...please don't try to run from the knowledge that you might have covid, because immunocompromised people, elderly people, people with co-morbidities like asthma, pregnancy, diabetes, etc...many of them may not recover. and they may not be sitting at your holiday table in the future because of it.

Honestly, there is a certain type of fetishizing of violence that occurs when you are the victim of abuse - wherein people talk directly to you about how much they fantasize about your abuser/s dying and being killed - "all abusers must be killed!" they say.
As a victim of prolonged abuse, I never felt cared for when people indulged that information to me. It often feels like my abuse is being exploited for others to enact their own violent fantasies and secret desires - my abuse means nothing to them in the same way that I didn't matter to my abusers. It's not support - it's just another cycle of violence.
I'm begging people to care more about victims and survivors than they do about retribution of abusers. Nowhere along the way should your focus on the abuser outweigh the people affected by their abuse. If you truly want to support abuse victims and survivors, start with us
