I've had this little idea in my head for awhile but that last ask about Ls!Sam and Es! Dean really made me want to revisit it and share.

So i had this dumb little thought awhile ago.

The Forgotten Scriptures hidden deep within the Ministry describe the summoning of a murderous ghoul. Their mask stained with the blood of countless Christians who stood in the way of the Clergy, their sheer hatred rotting their skin, showing black bones underneath.

They called them the grim reaper. They called them death incarnate. They called them Carnevale; The Flesh Ghoul, as their gaping wounds were sewn with the skin of their victims.

Copia was well aware of the heinous crimes committed by the demon yet sought out the scroll, hidden deep within the Ministry's vaults. The ghouls stood beside him, reassuring Papa that he was safe. The summoning had begun...

A crack formed within the sigil, growing incessantly as it swallowed the ground forming an endless pit, its rampage only halted by the protective circle. A harsh red light was emitted from the pit as a voice called out to him.

"Who summoned me?" The voice was beckoning for blood.

"I did! It was me!" Copia mustered a confident facade, yet the ghoul wasn't convinced.

"I can smell your fear, Papa." The ghoul spat his title mockingly. A spiked tail appeared from the pit and swam back down.

Cirrus gave Copia an affirming nod. "I call upon you, Ghoul of Flesh, to come to my aid."

He was met with a maw of black fangs, blood leaking from behind. "What makes you think you're worthy, you pathetic sack of flesh? Tell me why I shouldn't devour you right now."

Papa kept a straight face. "I need you to care for my ghouls."

The monster was taken aback. It had no idea how to respond to such a demand. "You want me to...WHAT?" Lava started seeping through the gaps in its mismatched skin as it slammed a huge fist dangerously close to him. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"

Copia smiled. "I am your Papa. Now, come to me."

The monster roared angrily in disbelief as it melted into shadow, closing the pit. A tall ghoul is present where the sigil once was. They were not amused.

"Alright, I'll be your babysitter.", they hissed.

Copia beamed at his accomplishment. "I'll need, first, your name. I doubt it's 'Carnevale', is it?"

The ghoul sighed as they stretched their sewn arm out. "No. It's Wave."

Papa smiled kindly as he shook their clawed hand, something that kindled Wave's curiosity. "Nice to meet you, Wave. Welcome to the family.

The ghouls cheered loudly as they surrounded Papa, hugging and shaking the poor man. Wave raised an eyebrow. Can ghouls really love a human that wimpy? Have they forgotten everything?

"No, no NO! HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING?!" Screeched Wave, wondering how the hell Swiss managed to burn water.

They whistled, calling all the ghouls to come to the kitchen. "This is how you do it! Aurora, bring me the fresh mussels and put them in this pan. Phantom, get me the whole damn box of king prawns from the freezer, tell Ifrit to defrost it. Aether, find the starchiest rice in that Satan forsaken fridge. And Swiss?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't touch a fucking thing."

The ghoul doused the mussels in white wine and let them simmer as they rummaged through the cabinets for peas and olive oil. "Aether, put 500g of the rice in this deep pan, and some of these peas while you're at it."

With one slice of their claw, Wave deveined the prawns and seared them, boiling the carapaces to bring out their flavour. They separated the mussels from the wine and the carapaces from their juice, alternating between them to give flavour to the rice. The ghouls were enjoying themselves, whacking each other with cutlery while the ghoulettes played keytar in the background. It was a mess that Wave secretly enjoyed.

Once the food was done, they carefully spooned it in equal amounts on every plate, ensuring that each ghoul has enough to eat.

"And that is how you make proper fucking risotto." Wave was immensely proud of themselves.

Swiss dug in first, every mouthful sending him into a purring spree followed by the rest. Wave's gaze softened seeing the squad enjoy his food, they were like a very messy family.

"Hey, mister!" yelled Cumulus with her mouth full. "Where'd ya learn all this stuff?"

Wave leaned against the table. "From my Papa, of course- stop spitting out your food like that!"

Rain looked curiously at him. "You had a Papa? Don't you despise humans?"

"Yeah!" Jumped Ifrit. "You were gonna kill ours!"

Wave furrowed his eyebrows as he wiped his claw. "You have a human for a Papa, not even a half ghoul."

Mountain sat defensively. "Times change. We love Papa, and that is that."

Aether waved his spoon in the air. "Besides, humans love us now. We have no need to defend ourselves."

Wave looked away. "I see."

"You don't believe us, don't you.", exclaimed Sunshine. "I understand you've been through some shit, but you can't stay like that. No need to be." She promptly stuffed her mouth with risotto.

Wave laughed. "I suppose so."

"Tall guy, make us more of this stuff!" jumped Ifrit.

"Me two." said Mountain.

"Me three!!" yelled Cumulus. Soon enough, all the ghouls were yelling for food.

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros - I absolutely devoured this sequel, omg. Obviously it’s nothing fancy or anything like that but hey what’s wrong with a smutty YA? Not to mention DRAGONS

2) A book I recommend:

Perfume by Patrick Süskind - when I read it I had no idea it was a whole entire modern classic, I just picked it up at Oxfam for like 3 for £1 or something but, wow, I can 100% understand how it earned that status! If you like an eery not-too-long horror story with the most beautiful imagery describing some fucked up gothic storylines and a lot of social commentary, you’ll love this book!

3) A book that I couldn’t put down:

Ahhh ok, im gonna say In Memoriam by Alice Winn. The ending was… idk I wasn’t really a fan of the ending, I thought it kind of disengaged and took away from the struggles and severity of war and sexuality the rest of the book portrayed but until that point the rest of the story was everythingggg, there’s a sweet forbidden romance/coming of age/found family in the 1910’s propelling into a story of the horror of WW1 and losing everything you know. All I can really say is that I read it all in one go (more or less) and it had me laughing and sobbing throughout

4) A book I’ve read twice (or more):

I mean… there’s an obvious choice here - The Picture Of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. HOWEVER I’m going to absolutely cheat and also say Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, the drama, the trauma, the vast majority of these characters are awful and I love it 🤌🤌

5) A book on my TBR:

So many… so so many… I’m gonna say House Of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski tho because it was expensive and it’s cool looking and I’ve actually been meaning to read that for a while but boy howdy it’s huge

6) A book I’ve put down:

The Tale Of The Body Thief by Anne Rice UGHH I’m trying so hard!! It’s so many words with so little going on, and I do enjoy it, I really do, it’s so goofy, but it’s so.. i mean verbose isn’t really quite the right word but you know what I mean. Omg 10000x the Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy, guys you don’t understand, as much as I would love to talk about how my mum and I used to sit and read Anne Of Green Gables before bed or my Enid Blyton obsession when I was like 6, Skulduggery Pleasant was my absolute jam - I must’ve read that series (the original 9 + spin offs) a million times in primary school. I did keep up with phase 2 when that was coming out but I don’t know if I’ll bother with phase 3, I’m just too old now and phase 2 wasn’t all that imo - I think it’s sort of beating a dead horse at this point :( but the original 9 and Maleficent Seven/Armageddon Outta Here were my childhood and I definitely absorbed Valkyrie Cain into my identity as a child so that series probably shaped a big part of who I am and my hobbies as an adult

9) A book you would give to a friend:

Love On The Brain by Ali Hazelwood. Silly, nerdy, fun, a cute little Pride and Prejudice-esque enemies to lovers feat. women in STEM

10) A book of poetry or lyrics that you own:

Ok so anyone who’s seen my other poetry blog @apoemadaykeepsthehoesaway knows my obsession with The Complete Poems of Wilfred Owen (I have a lot of difference versions) AHHH by far my favourite poet - as you can imagine with such a young man, you can clearly see his changing mentalities, his growth as a person and a writer, his influences, and really gather a lot of context for what’s going on with him in general through his poems. And he grew up in all the same areas I grew up in and hung around as a kid/younger teen, which I think adds to my personal interest in him too. Idk ig we’re very close friends on a parasocial level lol.

And ofc there really aren’t that many poets around that give such visceral, truthful, and emotional insights to the First World War as Owen does (also a queer icon). He was my intro to war literature and I have tattoos relating to him, he and his work are just incredible to read about, would highly recommend having a look at Siegfried Sassoon’s war poems too; another very blunt poet who was a celebrity and war protestor at the time and happened to mentor Wilfred Owen, as well as being linked with other influential folks of the time such as Robbie Ross, Stephen Tennant, Rupert Brooke, and Ivor Novello. Ok Ill move on :,)

11) A nonfiction book you own:

Surprisingly I quite like nonfiction, mainly history and essays from philosophers and the like. Speaking of, Friedrich Nietzsche’s Beyond Good And Evil is a pretty solid one I own, I’ve never read anything where the author begins by calling himself and all his coworkers socially inept incels 🥹 but even though I don’t remember the specific reason I bought it (I was reading it to argue against some other philosophers in an essay in college and I really don’t remember who or what it was) I remember it being a really interesting read

Or yknow in a more traditional sense of non-fiction, I also have Notes On A Nervous Planet by Matt Haig. Really helped me get through some stuff, if you’re struggling with anxiety or feeling a bit down lately I’d very much recommend

12) What are you currently reading:

Omg ok, The Hitchhiker Trilogy by Douglas Adams, I’m currently on book 3 of 5 - Life, The Universe, And Everything. Really silly and nonsensical space bs but somehow also a bleakly satirical social commentary on the unseriousness of our ‘serious’ world. Really enjoyable, fairly political to some degree, really short (around or less than 200 pages a book), really fun. Martin Freeman truly was the perfect casting for Arthur Dent in the film of the first book. Full of that quintessentially British cynical humour and of course plenty of cups of tea

To give a little preview, the second book literally opens “The story so far: In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

Books 4 and 5 of The Hitchhiker Trilogy, and then I suppose I had better carry on reading The Tale Of The Body Thief :D

this one splits into reader's perspective (first chunk of the lyrics) and gojo's (second chunk), and is pretty self-explanatory! throughout the entire tmal, reader's really given him all the space and time he needs and as a product of that i think it does something to gojo that helps him warm up to everything much faster, more organically (because there's no pressure or anyth!).

this one's mostly here to convey feelings of ~safety and ~peace that make up a very big chunk of col gojo and reader's relationship! if anything, it's probably the foundation of why they work 😭

bloom - the paper kites "oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness and you fill my head with you"

this song is my ultimate falling in love song AAAH and i love the allusion to sweetness too (bc i love playing around with the fact that gojo has a sweet tooth!). this song is very much gojo in love!!

sugar - alayna "woke up in paradise found myself in your eyes baby i think we made it, we made it we were loving in lowercase but now we're seeing better days you're the sugar that my body craves (mm, mm) you're the reason i don't go insane i'm realizing more everyday i really need you and that's okay (mm, mm)"

another one that shows gojo very much in love!! (and alludes to sweetness again!!) except this is a lot deeper 😳 and more intense 😳 gojo getting really serious in his feelings!! the lyrics here inspire some scenes in col #3 so the song might make more sense when the fic comes out hehe.

more for the ~very loved up kinda whipped~ vibe hehe the song is in spanish and i searched the eng translation and think it conveys the same thing too! but the sound itself is really sweet and captures what i think it would feel like in that stage of their relationship! even tho i've written col gojo as primarily shy and hesitant when it comes to love, i do think that when he warms up there's no stopping him 😭

slumber - lewis watson, lucy rose "only you who can calm the thunders only you who can steal the colors oh"

this one inspires one of the scenes in col #3! that's all i can say 😳🫣🫢

I wish I could somehow transcend human limitation and write ALL of my story ideas at once, with perfect clarity and within a year or so. Barring my unexpected evolution into the next stage of cosmic existence or something, I want to share all the plot ideas from my notes file, which seems to expand the more I look at it (spoiler, every one of them involves Peter Lorre because I seem to have devoted my whole creative life to him; I don't make the rules)

Category 1: stray ideas for stories that don't fit into any particular established universe:

a tale of the wild west, starring Peter as a morally gray, but goodhearted gunslinger, cowboy, and all-around ladies' man (and some of the gentlemen too)

Peter as impoverished violinist living in Vienna. I do not have a specific plot for him yet but I'm kind of thinking of a continuation of "Kitten on the Keys" where Laszlo and Betty visit post-war Europe and run into Laszlo's shy brother playing violin in a destroyed corner of the city, after failing to become a music teacher like he wanted... this is literally just a mental image left over from a long-ago unfinished story and I have no idea where it goes from here. What do you think, yea or nay?

One last little goodbye coda to my OG characters Leo and Tanya Becker, as they enjoy the post-war life and relative calm while raising a family in Washington, DC.

...I lied, one day I also want to write something about the Becker kids after they grow up.

Category 2: TORG. Oh I have so many ideas for the little cannibal:

Georg escapes a cruel mental institution only to join an even more abusive traveling carnival through central Europe in 1910

Torg in the Fallout universe, eating his way through the wasteland and surviving mad science experiments

My notes include this joke title which riffs on an actual play: "The Inexplicable Rise of Georgio Ui." This makes no sense but I thought it was funny. The actual story idea is more serious, as it involves a Holocaust survivor relating her experiences to a historian, and she tells the unbelievable tale of one fellow prisoner who set them all free by devouring the place whole. Includes a Twilight Zone-esque twist that I will not reveal here, yet. :3

Category 3: Actual fanfic ideas expanding on Peter's real movies. These ideas are free for any other writer out there who wants to tackle it because omg do you see all those ideas above, I don't know how or even if I will get to these:

The Constant Nymph. Fritz Bercovy got a raw deal in the book AND the film, and I want him to get as far away from the unappreciative, racist and rude Sanger family as possible. Instead let him have some refined and sexy adventures around the world as he splashes the cash on a more deserving woman, for a change.

The Island of Doomed Men. Something that really leans into the whole BDSM theme that was toned down in the original film but was quite obvious anyway. Lots of whipping and barely-repressed emotion and fucked-up relationships and yeah :3

Andre and Polo of "I Was An Adventuress" need their own adorably kleptomaniacal comedy series, pronto.

The Face Behind the Mask. Janos deserves a second chance! An alternate version where he was still burned, but some soft-hearted employer decides to give him a job. His hardships aren't over, but at least he doesn't have to turn to a life of crime and maybe even Maria can join him like he wanted (but does she still want him??)
