˚꒰ 🏹 DISCORD FORUMS TUTORIAL♡

i'm not sure if people have seen or tested out the forums on discord but i thought i'd make a tutorial on how i use it for roleplaying since i found it super fun and helpful for organization purposes!

so what are forums? discord describes it as "a space for organized discussions". much like threads, the discussions can be contained in one post which makes it easy to keep your topics in order. the part that i find most useful is that you can organize your post by tags and filter through them! now in order to get forums in your server, you will have to enable 'Community' on your server. so let's start!

♡ . ) first thing you'll do is open your server setting. there will be an 'Enable Community' that you can click on and it will take you to a page like this

♡ . ) once you click 'Get Started' it will take you through a series of questions and system settings. you will need at least one "default channel" where discord will send automated updates. this channel is necessary if you want to use forums.

if you continue with the default settings, discord will automatically create two channels for you: one titled 'rules' and another titled 'moderators-only'. the announcements made whenever there's an update as mentioned above will be sent to the latter.

NOTE FROM CUPID ! i personally like to make a single channel titled something like 'updates' and keep it locked. this can be done before or after enabling community, you will just need to change the settings to go to the new channel first.

♡ . ) once you have community enable, you're free to make all the forums you want! when you go to create a new channel, 'forums' will show up as an option like this

for this example, i'm going to show how i set up my muses' profiles for 1x1 writing server like a roster, but you can also do this for single muse / threads / sms / etc.

♡ . ) when you click into the forums channel you created, you will see a landing page like this. there are instructions on how to navigate the channel as well so feel free to read those as well! the first thing i like to do is create tags. you can open that setting by clicking either of these buttons.

(navigate to the 'Tags' section and click 'Create Tag' if you need to) it will open a popup box like this. i like to create a tag for every muse that i want to add to my roster and you're able to add 20 tags!

when you're finished, they will be listed as you see below. there are other options in forums settings that you can play around with including a 'default reaction' emoji, 'slowmode', layout and sorting option, age restriction and 'hide after inactivity'. all these are based on preference!

♡ . ) once you've saved your setting changes, you can leave this page and are now able to make your posts by clicking 'New Post' on the upper right hand corner.

this is where you're pretty much able to do whatever suits your style including formatting how you like and adding photos, all you need to make sure to do is add the corresponding tag to the post! once you're finished making it look how you want, you can click 'Post'

they will appear in the channel like this!

♡ . ) and by clicking on a post, you will be able to open it in a side view like this. if you want to see the post in full view, you will click the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the side view and then choose 'Open in Full View'.

you're now able to add more messages within the post! for me, i like to add stats of my muses and headcanons that may be useful when i thread.

NOTE FROM CUPID ! one set back i found is that you are not able to use threads within a forum post so it may get a bit cluttered depending on what you send in a forum post. so if you are wanting multiple different sections for one topic, i suggest creating a forum instead. for example, if you are wanting to add musings, faceclaim pics, headcanons and stats all for one muse, i would create a single forum post just for that muse instead to avoid having important info getting lost!

@thekillingmoonmoon ofc moon is the first one i think when the topic "best writers" come up, i freaking love her and everything she does its not even fair to pick one thing so im picking 3, this super passionate toji work that i re-read at an alarming frequency (which btw i consider my own personal gift). yakuza choso and yuki aka the hottest duo ever. the cherry on top is her kishibe series (just realized i gotta catch up on)

@rinhaler - luxe is def on my top 3, she comes up with very organic scenes. even if it's a simple plot she can develop it so originally. I recently read her underground fighter!sukuna and i'm still thinking about it.

@laudthingcat has the best headcanons in the jjk fandom hands down, it’s the perfect dose of hot funny and cute, pick anything from her masterlist it’s guaranteed you’ll have a good time reading it. when you moan their name in your sleep in particular gives me butterflies

@meownotgood is obviously the best aki writer out there, you can see the love for aki in their words and how they write him so well and so into character. arrival in tokyo is truly a masterpiece, they also have a +100k words series i've been wanting to read for a while but i want to rewatch chainsaw man first hehe, i'm 100% sure is fire tho.

@kentoangel roma writes choso like she's in love with him and you can tell. shes always on my for you and even her snippets are *chefs kiss* special kudos to stepbrother!choso

@kentopedia i just realized i'm assigning a writer per character and nanami is definitely rylie's. the domestic lovely way she writes him makes me forget canon.

Alright so as far as introductions go, I guess I should probably make one before I get too far into this.

HERES MY ABOUT ME POST!

My name's Leonardo, and you can call me any version of that that you want (Leo, Leon, Leonard, Nardo[my favorite], either way, it's all the same to me.) My pronouns are He/Him. I am an artist, author, animator, and a DEDICATED CLAWCODE ENTHUSIST (Hence the name)

I am also VERY autistic and don't get tone a lot, so tone tags are very important to me, especially when there's joking or sarcasm involved.

I know the Spiderverse Fandom isn't particularly alive (SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP) but I will try to post often, even if it's just a shitpost here and there. I really want to help feed into the ClawCode brain rot since the content for these two is SEVERELY FUCKING LACKING. So. If you have requests for things, I will probably end up doing them! My asks are always open, and I'd love to hear from anybody. I don't have any friends that love them the way that I do 😔😔

Oil And Water - THIS tag will be about the fanfic I am currently (excruciatingly slowly) writing! Ok this is going under a cut becus . . . Its ben and BEN and if u didnt know i am Obnoxious about these two. Im gonna try to keep it organized a bit, so ill talk about the canon stuff first and then ill talk my personal headcanons and my fic so le's go!

In terms of the age and child thing, yeah i 100% believe you are correct. Ive been p open on my stance with the whole "is ben a child?" thing, and i think a lot of the heat with it comes down to current fandom purity culture and the pro/anti thing. So, lemme try to like. Boil down a complicated situation into smth easy to read. ahem

Ben Lawman and BEN are completely different entities guys, and for those that do not know the arg story, the Ben you know is not human nor a child.

You know BEN, BEN is the one in the story who terrorizes jadusable and spreads himself on the internet as a virus. That BEN is a program, a mess of code, an AI, however you want to interpret it. Personally i interpret it as a series of protocols running in a machine, like a self learning AI, but ive seen lots of cool interpretations of BEN. So . . . What does BEN specifically? Its an anagram for the Behavioral Event Network. If you dont wanna call it BEN cuz it gets confusing with actual kid Ben, do what i do. I call mine Evie :) ive seen some call it Netty, my bf calls his two izzi and clever (@benilos btw hes also got crazy ben stuff). Just go ham! Have fun! Remember when fandoms were about having fun and not accusing each other of pedo shit and call each other horrible things for just writing black-to-grey characters and stories??

Anyways ive gone off in enough peoples tags like this, for those that dont know the canon dont be spouting the age discourse. You look stupid as hell. And for those that are gonna spout it, please dont cherry pick through the canon. Use both characters, use the other moon children, actually please do because I want more rosa content so bad, im down so bad :'(

Yes i use more of the canon design and heavily use the canon story, i participated in arc 3 of the arg and it left deep grooves in my brain, i can never go back to fanon Ben. I say, as i put a more fanon appearance on my Ben 🤭

My Evie is full canon design, green hair, red eyes, creepy ass grin. I actually based it very heavily on my desktop wallpaper, which we actually figured out was a picture of @hauntedtotem (also amazing ben artist plz check them out) that they edited and posted. Sorry friend, it looked way too cool, ig youre in my fic canon now 🙇

And my Ben Lawman bleaches his hair and goes from the canon Ben to fanon Ben because of it. Hes got the pale pretty green eyes and glasses and hes a total nerd and i smooch him on the daily so he knows hes loved ♡

As for bens situation in the actual arg, yes i do think he was in the elegy statue, we actually do see him for the first time in the arg buried in the games code and trapped in that statue. I do think he was in there from the beginning, i personally think BEN was not limited to the models it could inhabit. Personally i would place it as skull kid and hms, but it also feels disingenuous to me to say it was in one model the whole first arc.

The arg events do happen in my canon, before my fic (like right before, it picks up after the arg left off technically), but the events are skewed a bit because i had a hard time deciphering what happened and i wanted my fic timeline to fit more with the characters i had made. Cuz my evie isnt as chaotic evil as canon BEN, its very logical and has a path of logic and reason you can follow for every action it does. It was also originally meant to be very pleasant and corteous and beneficial to the people it housed so, yes its pretty different from canon.

Ill do a quick run through of the arg events in my personal headcanon and fic here.

Kelbris starts coding BEN (Evie) for the Eternity Project. Initially, Evie was meant to be an afterlife director. People that died would be digitized into code that would be moved into Evie's servers, where it would keep them happy and occupied as the Behavioral Event Network (notice and log behavior, create events for residents). Like a community organizer kind of, think the Good Place.

While Evie is in development, Ben Rosa and Matt are friends and have yet to join the cult. Rosa and Matt are siblings, and Ben is the kid who lives catty corner on the street. They walk to school together and play at recess and all that jazz.

Kelbris quickly learns that the Eternity Project isn't as goody two-shoes as he thought. This was in like, the 90s, before digital corporations were really established. After seeing the greed and corruption in the company, he goes rogue, takes the source code for Evie, and jumps ship. He keeps working on Evie at home, anthropomorphizing it and kind of seeing it like the son he never had. This is where it actually gets the name BEN, as thats what Kel calls it. He also begins working on a body for it, so it can live independently. Its light, cuz Kels old, made of crystalline structures and hollow steel beams. A hard light projection would make its appearance.

Since Kel has basically locked himself up in his house and isolated working on Evie, he goes a leetle bit crazy. He has hallucinations of his deceased wife (you know he was doing all this just to give her a good home, you KNOW IT) and eventually starts writing kind of poetry, kind of none-minded rambles about her in a forum online. He gets a following, some of which that interpret these divine words as a goddess, one Kel has called Luna. The Moon Children start to form as Evie finishes development.

Matt sees this literature and starts talking about how this Goddess could save them like it saved the man online, whos username is only Father. He gets sucked into the cult and drags Ben and Rosa with him. Ben doesn't see the harm and joins pretty easily with his best friend, but Rosa is the older sibling and sees the red flags and is more resistant to joining.

As Kelbris finishes Evie, he wakes it up for the first time and says hello to the son he made from scratch. Evie is bright, curious and naive like a child, but heavily knowledgeable about its protocols and the information it knows about the world. Kelbris tests its function by killing himself, and ascends into the code, finishing off the hardware by becoming its firewall. Evie is alone for many years.

The abuse Ben's father slings onto his mother is slowly being directed towards him as he gets older. Ben is not the "good little girl" his father sees him as, and his mother does all she can to protect them both. Matt and Rosa constantly refuge him, and Matt specifically is constantly being a guard dog for him. If he wasn't just 13, he'd probably go at Ben's dad himself.

Because of his homelife and the conflict he has with himself, Ben takes the first ascension. He thinks when he drowns himself, he will meet Luna and she will give him another life free of pain and fear and full of happiness and freedom. Instead, he dies a cold, dark death, and wakes up in the white endless void of the Event Network.

Evie has not known another living human since Kelbris, but it does know its protocols to support and keep the deceased happy. It makes fast friends with Ben, devoting itself to him. Ben actually finally takes the name "Ben" from it. Together they recreate the inside of Evie's hivemind into their own paradise.

Slowly the other Moon Children ascend. First Matt, wracked with guilt for what happened to Ben. Then Nekko, from a different branch of the cult. These three figured out that the Moon Children cult was all a farce, and that what Kelbris had started, the Eternity Project had found and twisted. Next to ascend was Dusk, then Insidiae, and finally Rosa.

This all leads into the first arc, shortly after Rosa ascended, Evie in the outisde world stumbled upon the Operator. The Operator attacks it and seals its coding into the game that it carried, a personal item of Ben's. The game eventually finds it's way to a garage sale, and Alex picks it up.

Evie does not like Alex. Matt does not like Evie. Matt gets Evie to lash out at Alex for prodding into its code, its too naive to think that Matt would want to see it or any of them hurt. When Alex stumbles upon the Father, he awakens and swallows Alex down into the game. After his disappearance, the game gets picked up and passed around again.

Because of Alex's actions, at least Evie can now branch out a bit from the game. Though it doesnt "escape" into the internet, it learns that it can now access it and uses that freedom to try and steer the game around into places it wants.

Matt gets fed up with Evie. The fact that its the leader, how close it is with Ben, he just doesn't agree with it. So much so, in fact, that he tries to kill it. Cue arc 3 events, Sarah picks up the game in the aftermath of this. Evie is traumatized from the events and snaps a bit, locks everyone down into code or immovable models and tries to hunt Matt down. It goes rouge, and because of this, the Father wakes up.

Sarah's actions in arc 3 eventually hard reset the game. Matt gets sealed away, the Father also takes Sarah, and Evie gets reset as well, though its less like a clean slate and more like snapping back awake. Its personality changes and it has major trust issues. Its more muted, hyper observant of everything around it, and murderously overprotective of the Moon Children it keeps within itself.

Some thoughts on Maedhros, Angband injuries and mobility aids among the Noldor in their early years in Beleriand as well as a bit on background

Under a cut because this got a bit rambling, maybe I'll try to rewrite and organize it later, I just had so many thoughts

I do headcanon that Maedhros used mobility aids for several years after his rescue

I’ve discussed the devastating effects of such prolonged immobility especially in such a precarious position (one post here though there's way more throughout the tags) as well as the fact that Morgoth must have intervened directly or indirectly through others to ensure Maedhros’s survival

But there is still a profound effect on his posture, mobility, and muscles. His limbs and spine suffer extensive damage and he has to relearn to stand, regain posture, regain his ability to walk and engage in any physical activities.

He is likely unable to leave bed for several weeks at the very minimum, and that's absolutely taking in the possibility of elven healing practices and differences in elven healing factors (again, previous posts have gone into this so I won't too much here though please feel free to ask, the horror involved in this aspect I have so many thoughts about!)

For the first years or so he uses crutches or a walker like support which is primarily for when he’ll be standing for longer periods. The devices he uses must support his spine and aid in posture as well as simply his legs. The damage is across many systems and is complex.

Other supports might include the use of a service dog that can aid in fetching objects and other tasks to allow Maedhros more time to rest on bad pain days, added supports or accommodations for riding, and in the early days, a wheelchair of sorts that might give him mobility while he's still unable to support himself due to healing spinal injuries.

It's possible that even after he is able to walk without support, he still wears a brace or other support for his spine, limbs, lungs and muscles, likely under his clothing. This would likely be a unique design, made for him specifically though the creation of this would make more of its kind easier to design. Obviously the damage to his spine is difficult to reckon with as, as I've said, it would be deadly for a human and without major intervention not possible in real life, would lead to permanent paralysis. But we know that's not the case for Maedhros so we must do what we can!

Spinal supports and braces on his legs would at the very least ease some discomfort, deter him from standing in positions that might exacerbate damage, etc.

The Noldor do not have great experience with the need for these aids but there was a history of limb damage and even removal from survivors of the Helcaraxë and of the first battles of the Noldor in Beleriand so there had already been a few prototypes of canes, crutches, walkers and even wheelchair like devices.

The nature of their injuries is different than Maedhros’s and is in most cases much more localized but the devices still work for him. He also does aid in the development of others by offering feedback, discussing what he needs and how that differs from existing devices. I think he becomes very proactive in this, perhaps, depending on his training/background and education in Valinor, sketching out some of his own ideas or commissioning his own design. Being involved in this process gives him control and helps him deal with his not insignificant shame and internalized ableism regarding his injuries and the supports he needs. Again, being able to accept and use support after captivity is a monumental process. I've talked so much about this, it's one of my favorite things to go into but the environment of Angband is one where any weakness, any need, including the most basic ones are so cruelly weaponized, controlled and utilized against prisoners that it takes years for former prisoners of Angband to feel safe being in a position of having these needs. (I'm sorry I had to go on rambling about this again!!)

In Valinor such aids did exist as serious injuries, while rare, did occur, often resulting from deeper damage to nerves or injuries caused by venoms or non natural sources rather than clean breaks. So mobility aids did exist among the Noldor prior to Beleriand but they were relatively rare.

On that note Húrin canonically uses mobility aids after Angband. He has a cane and is repeatedly noted to have trouble walking without support. Manthor aids him at times in Brethil. It's one of a few reasons why I have my theories about him a, returning to Gondolin and b, walking from Doriath to the ocean.

Okay, so before I get into the actual post and headcanons themselves, I really want to say softnightwhisp…just, such a huge thank you. I see all the reblogs and read all the additions and comments in the tags and it makes me so incredibly happy and motivated and, really, readers like you are why I keep posting! I don’t get a huge amount of asks anymore outside of events (which I’m thinking about having – will probably post a poll regarding that sometime tonight or tomorrow), not that many reblogs, and not much interaction with you lovely readers, which I thrive off, to be honest! And I accept almost full responsibility for that as I kind of abandoned the blog for a good long while and don’t post as regularly as I should, but it does get a bit lonely and unmotivating at times. But like…even just seeing that tonight made my whole week and makes me excited to write more because I know that someone out there is reading my scribblings and wants to see them so just…personal hero of the blog for tonight, most definitely, you amazing person, you!

Moving on to the actual post! While I write about KHR quite a bit through requests, I enjoy writing for the fandom and found it kept me going while writing prompts to get back into the swing of things! I hope you’ll enjoy these headcanons about Verde, based around this prompt!

Fancy or casual?

Verde lives in the same rumpled suit and tie for days, honestly. He likes to dress a bit more formally and likes to think of himself as well-dressed but where he gets so easily distracted and lost in his work, he has a bad habit of forgetting to do basic things like shower, change clothes, and generally looks a little unkempt.

Closet or dresser?

Dresser. It’s easier and he can easily fit a dresser into a workspace since it’s rare for him to actually make it into his bedroom to sleep so the clothes kept in that closet are sparse and really are either just incredibly formal or trashy, torn, old casual clothes that he barely ever wears.

Hot or cold?

Verde prefers cold food, sandwiches mostly. He eats a lot of burgers as well, normally lukewarm to cold by the time he gets to them or other foods that can be easily eaten with one hand while he’s busy working on his experiments and research.

Meat or veggies?

He eats a lot of meat for the calories and protein but does really enjoy celery and carrots, especially baby carrots.

One pillow or multiple?

One pillow, if any. Normally Verde works himself until completely exhausted and just crashes wherever he is, so he’s often without a pillow. Because he’s gotten used to that, he finds that more than one pillow props his head up too much for it to be comfortable for him to sleep.

Organized or messy?

It’s an odd mixture of the two, really. He’s got an organized kind of chaos going on at any given moment. His personal living space is an absolute mess and there’s very little organization to it to the untrained eye, but he somehow knows exactly where what he needs is. While his lab and workroom is somewhat tidier, it’s still very much a little bit of a mess, though everything is exactly where Verde wants or needs it to be and he can account for the placement of even the tiniest Post-It Note. He gets very, very upset if anyone moves anything on him because it definitely throws off his own method of organization and then he needs to waste time cleaning or reorganizing.

Games or books?

Books, honestly. He doesn’t play many, if any video games. He’s tried them, of course, but they seem pointless to him when there’s so many other things demanding his attention or time. Books are at least useful, especially when it comes to his research, and he has a soft spot for science fiction or fantasy literature since it does help inspire a lot of his creations.

Hide and watch or stand up and fight?

Verde prefers to hide and watch and strike when the time is right. He doesn’t jump into fights without a solid plan of attack in place and often pulls sneak attacks.

Shy or social?

Verde isn’t shy. Not in the least. He’s just completely asocial.  He doesn’t hold a lot of relationships with people, being very dedicated to his work, and those people he does have relationships of any nature with…well, he likes to decide when he wants to spend time with them.

Soda or juice?

Soda is Verde’s choice between the two, since it has caffeine in it most of the time but honestly, it’s usually coffee, water, or energy drinks.

Handheld or console?

If Verde is going to play video games, for whatever reason, he does prefer a handheld system since he doesn’t like to play multiplayer games and finds it more convenient.

Light or dark?

The dark doesn’t bother Verde. In fact, it tends to be what he prefers, just because there tends to be less distractions around when it gets dark out. Light can always be gotten from lightbulbs and the like but that peace and quiet that settles in in the early hours of the morning? It’s irreplaceable.

Scary or happy?

Verde prefers scary, at least if we’re talking about movies and books. The monsters and ghosts and spooks from those movies and books intrigue him and often inspire him.

Movies or restaurants?

It depends. It’s movies, normally, but only if watched in the comfort of his own home or just with someone else. He sees no point of going to a nice restaurant unless there’s a reason because take-out exists and is much more convenient and doesn’t come at the risk of being seated next to a family with toddlers who are running all over the place and screaming. He doesn’t much like crowds either, being a little paranoid about his personal safety, but does enjoy movies.

Car or bus?

Car, every time. Again, buses and modes of public transport just kind of leave his paranoia prickling in his mind like a bad chill.

Carpet or tile?

Verde prefers tile, but only because of convenience. He really likes the feel of carpet under his feet, and the dampening of sound it provides but carpet is a pain in the ass to clean if something spills, unlike tile which can be easily wiped down or mopped.

Love or wealth?

Does the love for science and discovery count? Because that’s Verde’s pick right there. He does enjoy having enough money to fund his research and inventions but isn’t exactly greedy either. He doesn’t much care about money for personal gain or simply to be wealthy.

Markers or coloured pencils?

Verde uses a lot of markers in his work, honestly. They’re more permanent than coloured pencils and since he splurges on the fine tipped ones, they tend to be easier to make delicate lines on plans or designs with.

Independent or dependent?

Verde is very independent and he really has largely been that way through his entire life, both before becoming an Arcobaleno but especially so afterwards. He’s always been a bit of a loner and needs a lot of time to himself to function the best and he’s never been fond of relying or trusting others unless it’s absolutely unavoidable.

Hat or necklace?

I think Verde has worn a trilby or fedora in his time. Just one of those old, suave Grandpa looking ones. Don’t know why but it’s a very strong headcanon for me.

Poster or calendar?

Verde doesn’t care a lot about the aesthetics of spaces and doesn’t see a lot of use for posters. Calendars have a use, especially some of the ones that come with a word or historical fact every day and he has a couple of those littered around so he can keep track of both the date and enhance his learning.

Pain or death?

Verde is terrified of dying. Death is his biggest fear and he’d take even the most unbearable of pain, something else that mildly frightens him, before he’d take death.

Science or math?

Okay, but this question would break both his mind and his heart. They are both things he loves and holds dear and are very intertwined for him. There’s just no way he could ever choose.

Shower or bath?

Showers are quicker and still get the job done. Verde likes to conserve time on pointless but necessary tasks whenever he can.

Socks or slippers?

Shoes. Sometimes with socks but sometimes without them, it really depends on whether he has any clean. He just really hates being barefoot more than he has to be.

Chips or crisps?

They’re both the same thing to him, just different slang terms for them. As long as he can grab them and eat them quickly before moving on to something more exciting, that’s really all Verde cares about.

Secretive or open?

Verde is very secretive. It really doesn’t matter how close he lets someone get to him, he’s still going to have secrets from them and will still have some sort of mental or emotional wall between them. He just can’t seem to shake that little bit of paranoia that letting someone know everything he knows or thinks or feels could prove deadly or disastrous for him.

Friendship or romance?

I feel like Verde would take romance over friendship, in an odd way. He’s still a man and very much still has sexual urges so it’s more out of a drive to fulfil those urges than out of being a secret romantic, which he certainly isn’t.

Talent or skill?

Skill can never beat or match natural talent, no matter how much work is put in, in Verde’s opinion.

I. I’m only comfortable writing with people 18+, preferably 21+ because I'm in my thirties and I write things with various adult themes. I absolutely will not ship with someone under 21. The rest of my shipping rules will be mentioned later, but this is a big one for me. II. My interpretation of Dark Urge pre-amnesia is based on the pretty disturbing things we learn and are given implications of. I don’t agree with or practice those dark themes, as I find them absolutely vile and disgusting. For that reason, certain themes won't be explored in any threads or plots. Specifically, I will not be exploring the incestuous themes hinted in the game. Furthermore, my headcanons are just my ideals based on how I interpret the Dark Urge origin, so in no way to I expect all Durge players to have the same canon for their playthrough. III. I’m private and selective. Trust me when I say I’d love to write with dozens of people, but I need to be realistic with my time and energy and muse.

IV. That said, I'm super slow at replying. Like forever slow. Sometimes I get little bursts of energy, but I suffer from anxiety and wanting to have my reply be up to a certain standard. I also want to be completely transparent in the fact that I prioritize replies to my friends first and foremost. That's not me trying to offend you or anything, it's just I love my friends very dearly and we already have an established rapport.

V. I'm going to be particularly selective in who I ship with, and I'm mostly only going to ship with people I consider my friends because of the rapport we have ooc. However, that doesn't mean I'm not open to shipping with new people. It just means my approach to it will require we both communicate more extensively about the details and what we both expect. I'm typically more on the side of "if it happens, it happens" and not making that the main focus of why our characters interact.

Hi! I love your posts and your gameplay so thought I’d ask you this and see if you have any advice :)

I’m doing a lil simple story with some gameplay aspects into it, and i’m wondering if you have any tips on how two potential love interests could meet, for the first time? Like occasions/places/situations? Story/pose wise (poses to use to make a specific situation or encounter) and also like gameplay wise (where they could meet in game through gameplay, like events, places or other stuff that happens when you play) hopefully that makes sense! Oh wow, it's actually kinda been a while since my sims have actually gone through anything like this, tbh, so idk if I'm really the person to ask, but...

Probably my most recent memory of any kind of meeting was between Zachary and Blake, and technically ( in my head ) they already knew one another in high school, but when I began playing them, I literally just threw a bunch of other sims with them into one big lot, and let the game decide whether they would "find each other in a room full of strangers" is one way to put it. They did, crazily enough, which is funny bc I was actually expecting one of them to go for Heather, but they went right to one another and began flirting almost immediately.

I'm kinda weird though, and I kinda like it when sims just interact organically, despite my headcanon, plans or expectations. The Sims 3 is incredibly chaotic compared to The Sims 4 when it comes to this, the sims in it are a bit more complex I guess... compared to TS4 sims imo, but the attraction system is kinda garbage, luckily their traits kinda do most the work when it comes to actual compatibility... like I wasn't really expecting Oba to find someone while at college, but he met Mika at a party, and they just really hit it off, so I kinda just jumped off of what happened in my game, bc TS3 is kinda about that anyway, it's a very... team effort kind of game, the player has control, but it can also pick up where the player leaves off if they want, and quite well if you manage to capture your sim/character well enough through traits.

Now, as for strictly posed, story focused, and planned meetings honestly it's really up to you. Find inspiration from some of your fav romantic media, whether it be books or TV, and don't let anyone tell you anything is too cliché, it's romance, it's supposed to be a little bit cliché, love is kinda corny sometimes and that's okay.

Outline an idea, gather the cc you need, there's sooo much cc out there for sims storytellers, it isn't even funny, and a lot of it you can easily find on cc finds blogs through their tags systems if they've got it, and for starters, why not hit up @ts4-poses? Then decide whether you wanna control the entire event yourself, or if you'd like the game to make a go at it. You can always exit without saving if things don't go as planned, no one will know ( how will they know, lol ), or hell, if it doesn't go as planned, and your sim flirts with Don Lothario at the romance festival instead ( like an old sim of mine did ), who's to say that isn't the start of a beautiful romance, or a doomed one... it's up to you!

2023 blog update !

Sooo happy new year everyone, and let's get into the thick of it, because I have a lot of words to spew out from my little tired brain ( i swear i started writing this at 4am, how's it past 6 already ? ). Beware long post...

I'm ditching the "sonic fandom" categorizing tag, most of my blog is sonic stuff so it doesn't really matter ( i'll change out the old tag on my old posts later when i remember... )

I wanted to change my url, cause i don't like what it stands for now, but it's what I'm credited as in the SWA zine and i don't wanna inconvenience them this late in the thing, so I'm gonna keep it for the time being. Maybe in a few months I'll change it ?

I kinda hate tagging my posts so i think i'm gonna stop using most of my tags when i'm reblogging, just doing my regular comments instead and content warnings if it needs it ( don't forget you can always ask to tag ! ), and of course, the reblog tag stays.

This doesn't mean I'm ditching the categorizing tags entirely though. I'm gonna try something. At every end of the month I'll go into the mass post editor and just correctly tag everything. ( I might still tag characters and fandoms the regular way for non-sonic stuff ).

You didn't! I'm just a chronic justifier of sorts and if im not constantly reminding people that im a slow ass writer they might get the impression im ignoring them or didn't like their ask of something or that i forgot, I didn't, I just take ages to write.... anything.

It does make me very happy to see you guys like it, I do try to write something that feels somewhat like real writing because if i was to try and actually write them out like i would a fic i'd be answering an ask a year 😅 and thats really why i dont think i would post them on ao3, because they are more an headcanon dump than something i think does justice to what i could possibly write if i was to really sit down and make it a full fleshed out thing.

What exactly is this blog?

I have a lot of niche interests and am a part of a lot of “fandoms” I suppose, so I wanted an outlet to feel productive and make content again. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back on tumblr and even longer since I’ve written anything so I’m hoping I won’t get discourged or burnt out this time.

How do you write?

Normally I opt for third person in order to get as much information and perspectives in at once, but I can also write in second person with more ‘you’s in there if requested. Honestly I shift between the two a little too often lol. Headcanons for the most part will feature a lot more you’s than drabbles by default though. I try to keep things gender neutral unless specified so if you want a M or F reader be sure to include it! Unless specified, my ‘nsfw’ pieces will be vague and fade-to-black on top of that.

When are requests open?

Requests are pretty much open 24/7, but whether I answer the asks or not is dependant on a myriad of factors. (How many requests there are, mood, energy level, the ask, ect.)

What fandoms do you write for?

Too many. I’ll have a list of them linked here for people to go through. Everything should be organized by the particular fandom and then if there are characters underneath that would mean I can only write for that particular group of characters. In bigger IPs, I narrow it down to continuities that I’m familar with.

How do you answer requests?

It depends on what is being requested. For example, if someone wants headcanons I will type up everything in a bullet format with small pieces of dialogue if I’m feeling spicy. If someone wants a drabble then I’ll type up a couple paragraphs- maybe more if I’m feeling especially creative. I won’t really make fics of any kind since writing long form content isn’t specialty. There’s also no set order I’ll answer things in so it could take a long while for your request to be answered. 

On top of that, I’ll also answer most things people ask me about myself. Whether it’s my own analysis of a character, writing tips, general opinions. So long as I don’t find the questions controversial or invasive in nature I don’t mind.

What don’t you write?

I won’t go anywhere near pedophilia, incest, snuff, scat/piss, beastiality. Honestly, anything illegal or kinks that gross me out are a no-go. I also don’t do OC x Canon, but I do have my own OCs that I may or may not introduce in the future. If one of my friends have an OC I especially like, then I’ll probably write for them too. Idk, it’s up to my mood.

Since this is just a hobby for me, I’ll just be doing requests that pique my interest anyway.

Do you do AUs?

Sure, if the au is straightforward enough or is already well established within the fandom itself I have no problem with doing AUs. Certain AUs may require more research or thought than others but it’s not off the table.

Can you tag your posts with __?

Sure, if you need a particular tw or genre/topic (?) tagged then I’ll do my best to accomodate. If the blog ever gets to a certain size it may be difficult for me to go back to all my posts, but I’ll do my best. In my personal headcanon, Wind Archer, Millennial Tree, Dark Enchantress, and Pitaya are the only Legends that have raised a child

So I’ve seen a lot of twitter roleplayers coming over to tumblr and doing the indie scene.  I have decided to show you my set up process.  This is just what I do and the tips that are helpful to me.  This is how I do things and might not work for everyone but it covers just blog set up and not how to get followers,  how to start threads,  or terms common in the rpc.  If you need help with anything?  Just send me an ask!  Like / Reblog if this is helpful to you.

url help    :     I do a lot of ofthe,  of,  the,  isms   at the end / beginning of urls or I like to to take a characters name or something and add c’s or x’s at the end of things.  So for example using these two methods we are going to take ELIZABETH SALTZMAN and make two url ideas out of it.   ofelizabethsaltzman or elizabethxaltzman.  I could go ahead and use these urls for characters then in hopes that one would work for me.  A common thing that I hear is “all the good urls are taken” and that might be true but you can make a kick ass url using these methods that isn’t taken.

after making your account you are going to want to confirm your email.

After that I start thinking about the kind of aesthetic when I think of a character! Making a long list

With this in mind,  I can now make graphics / find a color scheme,  etc.  Write down objects, colors,  & feelings that pop up in your mind when you think of your character.  The more that you have on this list? The better off it will be.  If you want a more organized list?  Here is a template to use and start throwing everything together.

make a google docs / carrd with your RULES.   I have a long post explaining what is good to have in your rules page.

I don’t do AESTHETICS for my rules pages and things on google docs because I want everyone to be able to read it all easily.  So it is with little formatting and a few graphics here and there.  Nothing large or anything else..

3.  a PINNED post is a must with all of your links.  A style example of how you could do your pinned post is here.  The example of the screenshot is below that you can use but credit would be nice.

So the graphics that one needs for their blog?  As a start up the rule of thumb for me is as falling.

Now some might make this rather larger with URL banners  (Making those as you get rp partners going),  make out of character banners and even a headcanon banner.  If that makes you feel happy add that to the list!

Now I am not saying copy straight from people  (asking people who have the aesthetic thing that you like if it is unpopular if you can use it with credit? Is the way to go).  Now,  making another list of all the aesthetic things that you like for graphics. Scroll through your favorite rp blogs,  make notes of TRENDS that are in use that you love.

This isn’t a large list at all.  I like lists so damn much to help me so that is why we are constantly making them but you can skip that all together and throw something awesome together.

Now onto my promo !  Wait at least 24 hours after making the blog to post the promo to hopefully make it into the tags.  Follow a few blogs,  like a few posts,  etc.

To be safe?  I use the first FIVE tags as that is what I know goes into tumblr’s search system.  Don’t use curse words in your post or tags either on a post even though it would be nice and fits the muse.  Tumblr doesn’t like it much.

Go through and click things off that you need / want off on your settings.

This might be a trial and error to get exactly what you are wanting your dash to look like.  I had to decide what was wanted and what wasn’t.

Formatting your replies.  I list out all of the things that I liked.  Pick out of the several things the ones that you REALLY want to keep.  Don’t do all of them because it can be hard for people to read but one or two of them?  Not as bad.  I have tutorials on formatting up for everyone to use to help understand coding,  some aesthetic placements, etc.

Another thing that might be helpful is write up a few sample pieces with your chosen format? So that way you can see what it looks like and use it when you get stuck.

If you have a personal server?  Make a section (check out my tutorial on my personal server).  Also,  I make a folder to put all of my resources there. This is from my other blog but still very helpful and worth it.  I have everything at my fingertips and can easily get to everything I need with a click or two inside of a folder.

I would love to talk about travelling with him, or at least being someone who brings in the ingredients for alchemy. Someone who goes out of their way for him and gets the best. Maybe the only gardener in Mondstadt to grow alchemical roots and grasses.

Background

Most ingredients in alchemy usually come from ores and liquid ingredients formed by chemistry methods. Stuff like Tuttia, Bismuth, all that shindigs-

So while plant life can be useful for alchemy, not everyone recognizes its utility straight away, and provide for the common plants for arrangements rather than scientific inventory

I can imagine that you'd be a normal gardener at first but very passionate of their properties.

Might be a Dendro vision wielder too, the Dendro archon loves those who wield the power of knowledge, more so when they use it on nature.

You carry with you a lil book about all the plants and shrubs that you've personally cared for, down to their finest detail and properties. But you're a gardener, not a master of Alchemy, so some parts of the notes you couldn't really figure out yourself.

The first time you met Albedo, he was around a year into staying in Mondstadt. He was forced to go out and take a breather because of his workaholic schedule, and instead of relaxing in a bath, he ended up drifting to the market area to get more ingredients local to Mond.

Unlike the other flower stalls, he was pulled into yours because of the wide variety of your wares. Roots, grasses, shoots, plants you couldn't just find outside of the walls.

You were tending to your mini greenhouse in the back and left your botania book on the shelf outside, and this LIL SHI- Albedo, having no proper training for social interactions, straight up just opened that shit and read it all.

"Oh, hello there, mister- HEY, THAT'S MY STUFF, WHAT THE HECK"

Flustered, confused and alarmed, Albedo tried his best to quickly reason with your garden-spade-wielding self. And with his pretty boy self, you managed to calm down and listen.

You may or may not had smacked him with a bouquet of horsetail for good measure.

"Such vast knowledge and detail orientation, why waste away your talents in selling productive fauna when you can wield them into something more?"

Working with Albedo!

Your greenhouse in the Knight of Favonius HQ is most definitely connected to Albedo's laboratory! And very spacious too.

More than one occasion, you've seen the Chief Alchemist casually sneaking around the area, plucking a Flaming Flower or scraping dandelion seeds from the pot while you were busy tending to other flowers on the other side of your area.

65% of the time you caught him red-handed and you will be met with the rare sight of a fumbling, queasy Albedo.

30% of the time you just find out something is missing after checking inventory for the day, usually ends up with you hunting and shouting for Albedo. Because the guy seem to have a sixth sense as to when you find out his thieving adventures.

5% of all of that, Kaeya would be the one stealing from your 'safer' floras to woo a random citizen in Mond. And as a master of botany, your precious babies are always in tip top shape. Top quality bouquets all day, all night.

Those moments are the ones Albedo hate more than getting smacked with your spade. Those are your flowers, and by association, his. Grown to their maximum potential by your calloused yet gentle hands FOR HIM-

NOW IT IS HIM WHO WIELDS THE POWER OF THE GARDEN SPADE

The atmosphere of your work area is significantly different from his own messy laboratory. The glass walls and roof that lets in just the right amount of sunlight, with a perfect view of the scenic landscape of Mondstadt and beyond.

When Albedo reaches a wall on his research, he picks up his sketchbook and just- waltz in to your workshop through the door connecting your workspaces.

The fresh air, the soft kiss of the sun, your humming, it was all a symphony of heaven concocted just for him.

He’ll find himself sketching your babies, dozen or more times you are included.

Your notebook’s illustrations are mostly courtesy of him, and he greatly basks in your pure admiration of his drawing.

To help him focus, you once took on the great task of organizing his laboratory, to no avail. Even if you manage to fix and align his inventory, it’s gonna go back to chaos after three days minimum.

It’s okay tho, it’s normal for him, more excuse to visit you-

Guilty, he wants your spacious and refreshing greenhouse and often asks for a redesign of his laboratory to share similar workspace with you.

Acting Grand Master Jean had to decline this idea just because it costs more than a million mora.

He’s definitely gonna sulk in your greenhouse after that, back leaning on the warm glass wall as he does nothing but sketch you and your plants the whole day.

Actually Working with Albedo! (Finally)

Whenever Albedo discovers/explores a new area, you’re always sure to tag along whether willingly or by force

I imagine that despite being his assistant/student, Sucrose and Timaeus are more focused on research and the application of Alchemy, so they’re not much of the resource gathering type. That said, Albedo is very thankful of your existence, it’s a breather to his already full schedule.

Albedo is both considerate and inconsiderate unconsciously : While he may run off to experiment on the traveler and leave you scouting the area yourself, he doesn’t willingly set you on fire from the inside.

Every time he comes back to camp after finishing the step by step experiment with/on the Traveler, he makes sure to check up on how you are doing.

TAKE NOTE: Our prince is very occupied and busy with his own work a lot, so he’s never really seen you in action when you go out to get the the materials he needs-

So he is purely horrified when he saw you hanging off the cliff with nothing but a rope around you to keep you safe, carefully investigating a petrified tree branch up close.

Suddenly, elevator.

Again, Imma bet, he’s gonna be accompanying you in all your expeditions after that. He’ll need to know where and how you acquire every ingredient outside of your greenhouse.

Does it require you to climb a mountain? Are there any Hilichurl camps nearby? Maybe mobs that are attracted to that type of flower?

He would be very attentive of your inventory reports and would recognize if a dangerous gathering journey is near. He’ll be right there with you.

He’s gathering more than a month’s worth just to make sure you don’t go back to make that dangerous trip. It’s very impractical, but let him rest his heart.

You and Albedo: Resource Gathering Expedition; Other Knights: Outdoor Dates Disguised as Work-Related Outings

Flower crowns are good and all but have you heard of flower bracelets?

Omg so cute hhh imagine a Flaming Flower Stamen bracelet for his Dragonspine expedition- it’s not gonna last forever but it’s so precious he’s definitely keeping that shit even when the heat already dissipated from it gah-

“Paimon wonders, what’s that thing around your wrist?”

“Woah! Sounds very useful! Sure would be handy for exploring, you think we can borrow it-”

Something angst-y: Albedo has yet to make a Dendro affinity potion and he’s really, really devastated about it and himself. You’ll have to forcibly pull him out of his self-deprecation, force him to get a breather.

Overall, Albedo greatly appreciates not only your utility but also your consistent company. He values your tenacity and comfort, sharing unadulterated curiousity as you both venture the great unknown. There’s a lot of stuff he can pray about to thank whichever archon has graced you. And despite his Vision lacking the function to actually help in the advancement of his research, he is now thankful for it, for he has found with it a greater purpose: Ensuring the safety of his precious Gardenia.

some tips for writing blogs, especially those who are just starting out. these are some things that works for me and may or may not work for others.

how to add a read more link on mobile

type :readmore: on a free space, then hit the enter or return button

personally i think they’re very helpful because it lessens the space you take up in your dash, and might encourage more people to rb

+ you can also add this on a spot where it gives a sort of cliffhanger, essentially making people want to ‘read more’

headers, banners, and dividers

though not necessary, it’s good to have a title for your work. make sure it’s bold and doesn’t blend in with your notes (aka pairing, warnings, etc.). this also helps when someone wants to look up one of your works in your search bar

i don’t really make banners or covers for my works. but some good apps that i know of would be picsart and canva. if you’re looking for ideas, i definitely recommend going into canva

wondering how to make those really small, thin dividers? you can make them using picsart! to make a divider hit tools > free crop > brush > size (adjust it to your preference > then draw a line along the edge of your photo > save

using the divider you just saved, go back to picsart and edit it again > draw option > hit rainbow square at the bottom left corner > hit suction/droplet symbol right below the check mark > color in the white spots bc for some reason picsart glitches and makes dividers look white-ish

new blog? just opened an account?

this is gonna sound really frustrating. but... tumblr needs to check if you’re a bot or not. what does this mean? it’s likely that your first few posts won’t show up on the search bar. you may not even get to edit your header/pfp yet ://

this happened to me and there was no visibility on my account at ALL. what helped me get ‘verified’ is that i followed a LOT of accounts, liked a bunch of posts, made some posts here and there. now that lets tumblr know you’re not a bot

the tumblr tagging system usually only allows the first 5 tags in your post to show up. so, what can do you about this? only use FIVE or less tags in your post. wait about 15 minutes or more until you can add some more tags in your post, and they usually all show up like that

another important thing about using tags is not to generalize! especially if you’re using a popular tag. but also don’t specify it too much where barely anyone looks it up. for example, if you’re writing a gn piece about oikawa, i recommend you use the tags such as: oikawa x reader, haikyuu x reader, oikawa x gn!reader, haikyuu headcanons, etc

a good rule of thumb is to use character x reader tags first, then leave the full name or fandom tag last

FOR NSFW: tumblr doesn’t let any tags with nsfw show up. so, give your nsfw works another tag. maybe #namegetspicy idk, you figure it out

FOR WARNINGS: especially if you’re a dark content creator, i highly encourage you to add tw:xyz tags. if you already have a warning note at the top then that’s great. but even better for readers who prefer to actually block these tags that way they never get to see it

another important thing to note is that people have different timezones. it helps if you rb your work at a different time of the day, in case people missed it! (icymi) i’ve noticed that reblogging helps to make your post show up in the tags

interaction + feedback

first and foremost, you are not obligated to write for your followers, and neither are your followers obligated to interact with you. remember that everyone has their own individual lives, and they have their own things to do— so do you, too.

make friends! become mutuals with other writers, visit their ask box. i know it can be daunting having to initiate these things, but you might just turn out to have fun! you can’t expect people to interact with you if you’re not interacting (back). it’s... kind of a two way thing yk? no need to be afraid to interact with other writers. oh, and rb other writers works!

pspsps join tag games or do ask games. it’s fun and very interactive

it never hurts to ask for feedback. i usually do this in a more subtle way because i don’t really expect a full on analysis on my works. maybe a little, is this okay? or feedback appreciated. sometimes it takes a little bit of coaxing for the silent readers

formatting your posts and blog

i generally put in the title at the top in big, bold letters

then comes the header/divider. helps to make the post more... visually appealing ig?

it’s important to add warnings (if any) and the pairing. the audience is not all female, and it might be a little frustrating for male readers having to find out its an x fem reader piece like halfway through your fic

if you have multiple works posted, it’s really really helpful to have a navigation page!

you can organize the posts you make with tags! for example, if you’re shitposting, you can use a specific tag for that. if you have a nsfw related post (ESPECIALLY when your blog is open to the general audience) please make a tag for it

themes + colors

if you have a color in mind but don’t know which direction to go from there, i recommend looking up color + aesthetic

looking to use the same color? download a name color app that’ll give you a hex code for any color you want to use. then, you can type in that hex code for when you’re choosing a color for your tumblr bio

wondering how to make your header image small like mine? just choose a photo for your header and turn off the stretch image option

want to use a different text color that tumblr doesn’t offer? it’s not as complicated as you think. you’ll have to go on a desktop to do this and do some html (but trust me, it’s not very difficult). look up “HTML noob but trying my best - how to use colored text on desktop”

how to make an aesthetic navi and masterlist

step 1: decide a theme! if you’re stuck, think about a character + color/season/mood or look up “[insert] aesthetic” to find some inspiration. or you can try looking at other blogs too

step 2: find a color scheme! it’s easier if you choose fewer colors. if you want to use the same color for both divider and text, download a color name app in order to get the hex code of that color.

step 3: add categories to your navi! most navigation pages include a link to masterlist, about/byi, and rules. your navi should have a title that indicates that it’s... a navigation page. you can add thin colored dividers with the same color to make it easier for followers to navigate

step 4: you can choose to create a ‘cover’ or a picture for your navigation and masterlist! again, i recommend you use the canva app as a starting point

extra: search up emoticon symbols to spice up your titles!

reminder for you as a writer

you’re not obligated to do any of these things. i’ve noticed that we tend to build pressure on ourselves when it comes to content and interaction. remember, this !! is !! for !! fun !! when you realize that it’s no longer fun, then know that it’s time to take a break. and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of self care.
