setting pessimism aside to daydream about my ideal bucktommy makeup scenario and i just... keep oscillating between buck extending an olive branch and tommy reaching out first. there's merit in both. yes i'd love for buck to discard passivity and fight for this salvageable relationship — for buck to look tommy straight in the eyes and tell him that his sharp edges and his vulnerable insides don't make him any less deserving of love. that he's not blinded by the excitement of novelty or misguided admiration — even without the full picture, buck has seen enough pieces of the puzzle that makes up tommy's whole to know that he loves the entirety of him, unspoken faults and past sins included. that buck can't guarantee forever but he sure as hell can try to build the sturdy foundation of a shared life based on the hope for more. that sometimes you just luck out on the first draw and there's nothing wrong with good fortune.

but it would also be extremely healing if tommy knocked on buck's door to chase after his own second chance. to say "i want you more than i'm scared of hurting" when buck asks him what's changed in 4 months — because tommy would rather live with scars than be haunted by regrets and what-ifs. because buck is worth the risk of never recovering from having loved him

vampire au where they can only drink the blood type they were before they were turned. other blood has an almost poisonous effect, burning them from within like acid and drinking too much of it can kill them

in the old days, before the knowledge of blood types, it made humans they could feed on absolutely precious. they're kept safe, pampered and doted on; a vampire’s most prized possession

attacking another vampire's human is seen as the highest insult; not only is it a slight against them, it also carries the implication of "i want you to starve"

it's also used as the cruelest of punishments; starving a vampire for months, until they're feral with hunger just for their torturer to throw in a random human, watching them desperately suck down poison, their instincts begging them to keep drinking even as it kills them

ghost is one of the few who survived it; thrown in a pit so deep, he saw stars in the middle of the day, left with nothing but the dried bodies of the humans roba drained without care, others with their throats slit, blood he can't drink spilled out around them

a taunt of the one thing he needs but will never get

but ghost hasn't survived this long just to give up here

he refuses to die in this stinking, rotted pit

ghost is a force of nature as he descends over roba's manor; killing any who wander into his path until the halls run red. until he gets his hands on roba and tells him a secret:

vampires can feed on the blood of any vampire, regardless of blood type

it becomes a legend in vampire high society; if you starve another, you'd best make sure they actually die

otherwise you might end up piled in a dining room, the vampire you left for dead lounging on a throne of corpses with his fangs lodged in your throat

ghost decimates roba's empire, burning it to the ground until no one dares to speak his name in fear of incurring his wrath. it's incredibly taboo for a vampire to feed off another but ghost's too powerful for anyone to challenge him and the other vampires are too scared to try. scared of what he's willing to do, the lengths he'll go to; not that they'll ever admit it

soap is the first human he ever brings to court; delicately bathed in the finest silks and jewels, his throat always bare so he can show off ghost's ownership, his bite framed in lace

he's not like the delicate waifs the other vampires show off; he doesn't cling to his master, demure and submissive. he shows off his teeth as often as any vampire, fully willing to rip out the throats of any who insult him or ghost

a feral master needs a just as feral pet

Everytime I listen to the Ancient Rome Sidequest it destroys me emotionally. But who knows, maybe somewhere there's a world where nothing terrible happens and it's just Sasha and Grizzop having fun adventures in ancient Rome.

Still a sketch, but I've been updating Vallotash's head design (my Mordy scion aka Mourynn's true identity) since I've been wanting to do it for a while, and to give her more mordy features and to move her horns down to just her nose + fuse them into one so I could keep the vine horns (and I like how they turned out! I wanted the vine horns to match the vines of her tail). I still like her body so I'm not gonna update or change that. I just gotta update the front view refs now.

I love the idea that Sasukes a little autistic bugger who doesn't understand social situations and is incredibly anxious, but actually out of team 7 I feel like he's the most emotionally intelligent. Also he has no shame. He does not physically know what that is and says the most chaotic shit for no reason other than he wanted to.

I imagine there are things that Bruce never taught the people he's mentored, not even Dick. There must've been things he learned that were far too painful to introduce another way than they were originally taught, so he just kept that to himself.

(question: does he ever talk about what he went through during those years he spent training? There were others around with him, so they know (Khoa, Talia, Masters, etc.) but does he ever explicitly bring it up? I assume Dick knows more compared to anyone.)

He does talk about it sometimes when it's relevant to something, like if he's teaching something sort of obscure he'll often mention how he learned it, or if it's related to a case. But insofar as things that are too painful to teach... hm. At least with Dick I have a hard time thinking of anything. Dick is as stubborn and persistent as Bruce himself, and I think in most cases if there WAS something like that he'd eventually wear Bruce down until he agreed to teach him anyway.

Besides that I can think of a few instances of Dick just casually mentioning some really insane training he went through as Robin, like the fact that Bruce had him try an exhaustive range of substances and poisons so he'd be able to identify them by how they made him feel and could treat them accordingly. There's little to nothing that Bruce can do that Dick specifically can't also do.

With Ra's specifically something interesting I've noticed is that because Ra's as Bruce's mentor is a much newer idea than Bruce as Dick's, a lot of comics dealing with that period clearly use Bruce's teaching style with Dick as inspiration for Ra's. Though Ra's is often less... gentle? About it.

That said while I don't know the others as well I don't think he's done quite the same training with them. I'd say Tim's had the chance to learn the most but I can think of an instance or two where Bruce didn't teach him something because it would be very dangerous for little benefit.

Since MC gets put on deadly situations almost daily....

A MC who is very clumsy and gets seriously hurt very often, so every time they have a near death experience they are visited by a reaper (mostly Thirteen), so now every time Thirteen visits them, they turns her visit into an opportunity to flirt with her (obviously Thirteen Is very concerned about this, how can a human be so careless?)

MC, who has accidentally fallen down the stairs or something like that IDK: Oh, Hi Thirteen!, I wasn't expecting your visit hehehe~
