Yan artists x artist.. reader
(One is a painter the other is a singer make up your mind)
hi anon! i hope that this lined up to what you were thinking of re: your request- you didn't specify a gender for the yans, so i made it a female painter yan, and a male vocalist yan. i also have the reader as someone who both is an artist as well a singer. i hope that that's alright with you!
poly yans- female artist yan x hobbyist gn reader x male vocalist yan
(cw: implied stalking, implied sabotage, dubiously consensual kissing, gaslighting (kinda?))

- eva goes to your college, and she’s an art major. she’s a painter, and quite a good one.
- she’s a very serious, cold type of person. a straight-A student who acts better than others.
- in her eyes… it’s justified that she acts like she’s above all the rest. she knows her paintings will be shown in galleries, after all.
- her future is all planned out for her, with thanks to her parents. a wonderful childhood friend who’s become her wonderful boyfriend will become the perfect husband. the perfect internship she got will become the perfect first job.
- even though she’s assured a great future, she’s still very careful. she doesn’t want to risk her perfect plan, after all! so she's going to make sure that she does well in college too, so everything lines up well.
- she had seen you a few times around campus. you were bouncing around, talking to friends, not seeming to be taking anything seriously. you were in so many different clubs, with none of them having anything to do with your major. they were clearly just an excuse to spend more time around your friends, she thought.
- she didn't think you were the type of person that she would get along with. the opposite, in fact. you seemed too silly, too carefree. she couldn't imagine spending so much time out of classes just hanging out and not studying- it was like you weren't being careful about your future.
- then, she saw you in one of her classes- drawing 101. by chance, you were also taking it as one of your electives.
- she first internally scoffed at you for taking it as a non-art major. she pegged you in her head as someone she didn’t need to remember- someone who just thinks of art as a fun little side project, not as something worth consideration.
- in your class together she watched you draw from time to time, looking over to your sketch pad. you seemed to be struggling a bit with some things like perspective, but to her surprise, you showed clear potential. your artwork was really good for a non-art major. and you were improving fast.
- when the teacher said that the class was doing portraits for the next class assignment, eva picked you. it was out of curiousity, at the time. she wanted to see what you were like, and this was a good opportunity.
- you were to draw her, and she was to draw you. you both were to spend all of class staring at each other, basically. it was the best scenario for one to get to know each other better.
- and she did indeed get to know you better. she saw that, staring at you while you were looking at her to study her features. you were studying her intensely, and kept erasing what you drew to redraw it, perfecting your details- you really cared about improving your work.
- it changed her opinion of you completely. you put your all into learning things, she realized, and didn’t see art as some little casual thing on the side. rather, you were earnest in your efforts to improve yourself.
- and of course… she also realized at the same time, that you were rather attractive. every minute she spent looking at you to memorize the details of your face, she realized how lovely each little part of your face really was.
- she felt a strange feeling, deep in her stomach... something she had only ever felt for her boyfriend. and yet, now, she was feeling it for you...
- without thinking, she presses too hard on her sketch pad with her pencil.
- after you two are done with the portrait assignment, eva feels like she still can't let you go. even though she knows it's wrong to enable herself in doing this when she has a boyfriend... she feels too strongly about you.
- she wants to know everything about you. she's scoured all of your social media accounts that she can find but... it just isn't enough. she needs more.
- instead of using her time between classes to study like she used to, she instead uses it to go around campus, looking for you...
- when she ends up finding you frequently "by coincidence" you just figure that she's lonely, and you don't think much of it.
- even if the accuracy to which she's predicting your locations and moods is becoming... a little worrisome. it seems like she knows when you’ve skipped lunch, when you’ve spent an all-nighter, when you have a big test you’re preparing for in one of your classes…
- she'll often spend a lot of time waiting for you. too often for someone who already has a partner, you think.
- you think you maybe should tell her boyfriend, but you think better of it. you feel bad for claude- you know that he really loves his girlfriend.
- claude, her boyfriend, was the shining star of the music department. he was a former child prodigy at the piano, and still plays it beautifully. but what he's really known for is his angelic, soothing voice.
- he’s a very handsome, polite man, someone who is able to charm both teachers and students alike.
- and yet, although he could get with anyone he wanted, he was steadfast in his devotion to eva. constantly keeping an arm on her while at social events and always doing favors for her to make her happy.
- but right now, little did you know... claude himself wasn’t feeling too loved.
- he had been noticing that his girlfriend had been spending even less time with him, and was evasive when she was asked who she was with.
- she already didn’t spend much time together with him, as she was studying and painting for most of her time out of her classes. now, it was like he barely saw her at all. and when she did, she seemed different, distracted even.
- she was smiling and blushing to herself while she was thinking. far moreso than she normally would than she was around him. it made his heart hurt, seeing his normally stoic girlfriend act like this about someone else.
- clearly, she was starting to have feelings for someone else. but he didn’t feel that he had the right to say anything about it right now. after all, he too was falling for someone else.
- he’d met someone in one of his basic singing classes. they’d been taking it so they could get better at singing, since they liked doing so as a hobby.
- he’d fallen in love with their voice, thinking it was beautiful. an amateur sound, sure, but it sounded so lovely alongside his own.
- he’d try to convince them to let him tutor them. after all, it would be a waste for them to not perfect this talent of theirs, no?
- even though he had a girlfriend, he insisted on spending more time with them. he felt like he needed to spend as much time with them as he could, savoring the lovely sound of their voice.
- he had thoughts about them that he had only had for eva, before. his head swarmed with an obsessive need to just have them, keep them to himself. even though, he already had a love of his own already…
- he felt guilty, thinking he was betraying one love for another by holding both in his heart. he has started to follow eva, wanting to remind himself that she was his love, and not them.
- to his surprise, though, the mystery person that eva was meeting behind his back turned out to be you. you, the person that he fell for as well.
- and then, the gears started turning in his head.
- maybe it wasn't a problem that his girlfriend had a crush after all... after all, it's good to share in a relationship, isn't it?
- once the two of them decide to work together to gain your affection, your life becomes very different. though you don’t know why, both seem to be acting more open and friendly with you in public. they’re both very touchy with you, gently putting their hands on you often.
- when you’re singing or drawing with them in private, you don't feel creeped out or surprised when they put their hands on your arm or back to correct your posture... though, you do feel like they are touching for longer than they should. aren't you already in the right position by now?
- the two of them end up being very supportive of your interests, urging you to do duets with claude, draw eva while she's posing for you, and show the two of them your sketchbook.
- they give you a lot of special things, too- including making you special tea for your voice, expensive art supplies, sheet music, etc.
- you end up being signed on as the understudy for a role in a musical a lot, and the two of them say that they'll watch you perform. you shake your head saying that you probably won't get on stage. but oddly enough, accidents happen frequently enough that you often do.
- you feel a bit overwhelmed by their attention, and all the odd occurrences happening around them are starting to creep you out... but, both of them are in the clubs and classes that you want to join, so you also feel that you can't avoid them.
---
claude put his fingers gently on your throat. you weren't sure that this was really necessary, but his cool fingers felt good on you. you gulped a bit as he pressed his fingers up near your jaw, and uneasily you looked towards eva sitting on the other side of the room.
she was looking at the two of you with an unreadable expression. you flitted your eyes away, worrying that she was (understandably) jealous about the close contact you were having with her boyfriend.
she seemed mad earlier too, when you had said that you were auditioning in the role of one of the leads in the next musical the theater department was holding. you didn't understand why she was upset with you for that, but you had hoped that she wouldn't be mad at you for long- she was a little frightening when she was upset, and you would really like to get on her good graces.
you had just come over since claude had offered to tutor you a bit in the song you chose for your audition. you had no idea that eva would even be here, let alone that claude's lesson would be so... hands on. you blushed slightly, unused to the strange situation.
"mm, your tonsils are a bit swollen. that's not good for someone who's supposed to sing on stage, you know," he said to you softly, giving you a sympathetic smile.
"really? you think i got sick?" you say, surprised. “i feel just fine, though. are you sure?”
claude nodded.
"mhm, trust me, i've been singing for a long time- i know tonsillitis when i see it."
you look at eva to see if she'll say anything, but she nods in agreement.
"well, you shouldn't audition if there's any chance of you being sick, right? after all, doesn't this play have a kissing scene? you wouldn't want to pass on your germs to them during rehearsal."
"eva's right, you shouldn't do it."
you frown a bit. you really feel fine... doesn't tonsilitis feel much worse than this? your throat doesn't even feel sore.
"well... okay," you say, grumbling slightly. "i guess you do know better."
he seems to preen a bit at this, standing up straighter. he smiles at you widely.
"just stay here, you'll be fine soon. you can just get some medicine here and rest up. we'll take care of you," claude says, patting the top of your head gently. to your surprise, he pressed a gentle kiss to your lips. you make a sound of surprise, and look at eva and then back at him. your eyes are wide with shock, but they're both acting like this was just a handshake.
"wait, hang on, what was that about-" you start saying, but he's already off to another room. you turn to eva, frowning slightly in confusion.
"eva, i'm sorry, i don't know why he would-"
before you finish your sentence though, she's already walked up to you and placed a kiss on you as well.
"don't worry about it.”

just in time for their birthday! happy birthday testament <3 to celebrate, i have 8 new comics from Guilty Gear XX Yonkoma Kings translated
{part 1 / part 2}
how to read yonkoma + translation notes under the cut:
how to read yonkoma (aka 4-koma):
Tumblr media
translation stuff (not even all about things you need to know, i just like to talk):
remember how i said this is my first time cleaning manga? yea, im still learning and using these comics to experiment with ways of handling sfx and stuff, so if you notice any inconsistencies there, thats why. for now, ive decided id rather not erase sound effects because theyre so prominent in manga theyre part of the art... and also because im lazy, and also because i'm no letterer and shouldn't try to redraw them in english
anyways
("im sorry, forgive me") i know nothing about sports and had to look up "wii sports announcer all voice lines" to figure out what someone says when a batter makes a good hit 😭
("this week's plagiarism") did you know patents are "abandoned" and not "canceled" or "annulled" or something? translation really does make you learn something new all the time
("love") napa cabbage? chinese cabbage? hakusai? i dont know. i dont cook. i just dont know. also, asazuke is a pickling method in japan that's real quick, where you put the vegetables in a sealed bag/container with salt or any other pickling solution and wait for 30 min - a few hours. yakiniku = grilled meat!
("all funny men...") so in the japanese, where i wrote "funny man" the text originally said "boke," and where i wrote "straight man," it originally said "tsukkomi." i'm not sure how familiar everyone here is with comedy routines, but in japan they have a traditional comedy duo thing where one guy (the boke) says something stupid, and the other guy (the tsukkomi) hits him with a fan or etc. very simplified explanation. in the west we have something similar, a double comedy act where one guy (the funny man) is very silly and the other guy (the straight man) must maintain his composure. youve probably seen this dynamic in many animanga and sitcoms
aaaaand... i have a ko-fi, if you feel somewhat inclined to give me $3 for being a nerd about testament and supporting other testament fans who can't read japanese. i'd be really thankful!
that's all! bye for now ^_^

२ (2)
The second time you see him, you’re sitting with Sonia in the otherwise empty cantina on The Resolute, drawing up some blueprints for Ahsoka’s starfighter. The young Togruta came to you seeking guidance on how to mend some engine problems ("Anakin refused to help me"), but after a thorough analysis, you found many more issues. And knowing Ahsoka’s itch to get back into the field, you promised you would fix everything up to be as good as new and were rewarded with one of the brightest smiles in the universe and a Thanks Astro! I owe you one!
Despite being trained as a biomedical engineer, you were more often than not placed with the astronautical engineers thanks to your knack of picking up skills extremely quickly. As one of the younger engineers in the GAR, it’s easy for you to jump from one specialization to the next with no difficulty, especially since you enjoy your work.
Thanks to your successful astroengineering projects, you quickly caught General Skywalker’s and Admiral Yularen’s eye as a good addition to the 501st. And soon enough, you were dubbed as Astro.
“–and then we went out to this cute bakery for jogancreams–which, by the way, were to die for–and the waiter messed up our order, but it was okay since we had some time to spare thanks to you, my dear friend. You letting us out early was so worth it. Astro, you’re the best,” Sonia gushes as you shovel another spoonful of food into your mouth, only half listening to her as your stylus glides across the surface of your datapad.
“Yup, the best, that’s me, the one and only,” you chuckle. You bite the inside of your cheek as you look over your designs before shaking your head and erasing a few things here and there, deciding to redraw.
“Oh! I forgot to tell you that before we went to get pastries, Prauf–” Sonia abruptly stops short. The abrupt lack of chatter pulls your full attention as you look up at your friend in confusion.
“Sonia? What happened? You look like you’ve seen a Jawa,” you raise an eyebrow as you stifle a laugh at the surprised look on her face.
“May I join you two lovely people?” a smooth voice asks. You whip around to find a clone–Echo, you remind yourself–standing behind you with a kind smile and a twinkle in his eyes.
Sonia looks between you and Echo so rapidly that you think her eyeballs are about to roll right of their sockets. Then, something washes over her face, and you’re not quite sure what to make of the emotion, or even how to interpret it. But before you can even process what’s happening, Sonia unexpectedly stands up, gathering her bag and gestures to Echo to take her seat.
“Wha–”
“I just remembered I have to–uh–meet up with someone! W-With Prauf, yeah, I told him I’d meet him at his barracks.” Sonia rushes out to explain, already halfway across the mess as you stare at her retreating figure dumbfoundedly. “Bye Astro! Talk to you later babe,” Sonia waves to you and in a flourish, your friend is gone.
You blink in confusion. You turn back around, food and work temporarily forgotten as you face Echo. He’s set his helmet down next to your various datapads, all scattered around the table.
“She seems nice,” Echo smiles politely and you huff out a laugh.
“Yeah, she’s something alright,” you shake your head, amused. You pick up your stylus and continue where you left off. You’re not quite sure why Echo is here. Today is a rest day for the crew and the soldiers alike. Almost everyone is partying it up at the makeshift bar created in the cafeteria on the other side of the ship. There is a reason you made the trek to the opposite side of the party.
“So, your name’s Astro?”
Surprised, you look back up at him. He heard that?
You nod, then shake your head, making Echo snigger.
“Yes or no? Which one is it?”
“Hmm, both I guess? I repair a lot of the GAR spaceships, and that requires astroengineering knowledge, so everyone just calls me Astro for short,” you explain before providing your real name. Echo nods in understanding.
“It’s pretty. Both names are,” he clarifies. You suddenly find your blueprints to be the most interesting thing in the world.
“Thanks,” is what your short-circuited brain comes up with. Frankly, melting into the ground sounds like a great idea at the moment.
But Echo breezes past it so effortlessly that you can’t help but follow his lead. Something about his calm demeanor and whiter-than-snow smile makes you relax despite the tension in your shoulders.
“Of course. So, what are you working on that’s so important that you’re missing the party? Fives really misses you, you know,” he gestures to your array of designs and your attention is pulled back down to your work as you laugh.
“I’m sure he does. But I told Ahso-Commander Tano that I’d work on her starfighter. She didn’t give me a deadline or anything, but you know as well as I do that every single person in this legion will jump at the chance to get into the fight,” you replied affectionately. Even though it’s absolute hell in keeping up with your repairs and reports as head engineer, you wouldn’t have it any other way. If anything, it’s nice to be useful and surrounded by support.
Echo lets out a snicker. “You’re right about that. But everyone needs rest, and I’m sure Commander Tano would want you to have some too. You’re always fixing things–maybe take a break instead?” he offers, wiggling his eyebrows. You do your absolute best to not to roll your eyes, but ultimately fail. This idiot.
You tap the stylus against your temple, pretending to think deeply about his clearly very serious offer.
“It’s a tempting deal…”
Echo’s face lights up.
“But it’s not for me.”
It falls. You hate the way your stomach twists.
“Not for you?” he echoes incredulously. It’s sharp–pierces straight through your skull and down into your heart like an out-of-tune piano. You’re not sure what to make of the situation, hands awkwardly curled into loose fists and resting on the table, the tray of food next to you long forgotten.
You recover. “Yeah. Not for me.”
Echo studies you for a moment. The pin-drop silence of the cantina makes the tension simmer in the air. Some recovery.
But Echo breaks with it with as much ease as shooting his blaster, smoothly moving from one statement to the other. You don’t know how he does it.
“Wait till I tell Fives. He’s going to practically drag you there the second he hears.” The challenge hiding underneath Echo’s smirk gets you back on track.
“You do know that I outrank you both, right? I’m head engineer of the entire ship,” you point out defensively, your eyes crinkling playfully.
He shrugs, leaning back in the chair with a surprising amount of confidence–much more than you expected. “Ehh, just technicalities. Nothing stops Fives when he’s on a mission, not even General Skywalker.”
You let out a laugh at that. “If anything, I’m sure he’s the one who encourages Fives.” Echo nods very seriously in agreement.
A comfortable quiet falls, coexisting with the both of you. It’s warm and soft–familiar, even. You direct your attention back to the starfighter blueprints, sketching over the lines you’ve already drawn absentmindedly. You watch as they become darker with every stroke.
“Have you thought about adding some couplings on the side?” Echo’s voice jolts you out of your light daydream.
“Coup-oh, for the hyperspace ring?” You’re taken off guard by his suggestion, not realizing he was analysing one of your datapad blueprints while you sketched. It’s genius. Guess he wasn’t lying when he said he was better than I thought he would be.
Echo continues. “It looks like there are some engine issues, which could potentially affect the turboboost in the fighter. Even if you fix that though, something could go wrong. So say the engine is damaged but you add couplings–”
“–and then supplement it with sonic clamps and cover it all with connecting shafts for protection, it would allow for the fighter to latch on and power up the hyperdrive ring faster with less need for power! Echo, you’re amazing!” you finish, beaming at him as you scribble the idea down next to your design giddily. Not only did it solve one of your most glaring issues, it went as far as solving a future issue.
Echo grins cockily. “What can I say, I am the brains of the whole operation.”
You giggle at his bold claim, shaking your head in amusement as you finish up a quick design sketch. Echo watches you do so, and when you’re done, he clears his throat.
He stands up then and you have a strange urge to pull him right back down again. Your hands remain frozen as you stare up at him.
Echo gives you a bright smile and you blink. “Well, now that that’s done, will you accompany me to the absolutely despicable bar that all of our friends are getting completely wasted at?”
With a twinkle in his eye and a gloved hand being held out to you, you can’t help but accept. Maybe a break really could do you some good.
You place your hand in his.
“I’d love to.”
(“How did you know where I was, anyway?” “Oh, I have my ways, Astro. I have my ways.”)

I just wanna say I have an old post of yours saved in my drafts, about being a beginner artist…. I look at it sometimes to give me perspective and reassurance. Thank you. It has inspired me to continue my hobby/passion even if I don’t get many notes rn. I improve and I see it! Thats all that matters. Thank you. I hope I can be that for someone someday.
oh wow 😭 this just warmed my heart—thank you for sharing with me. i don't know what post you're talking about specifically, but i'm so glad that something i said could give you a little extra boost sometimes<3
it's both cool and sort of embarrassing that this blog is a record of my entire art journey. i didn't start learning how to draw until i got into ML and joined tumblr again about 3.5 years ago, so it has my very earliest art as well as my most recent. the other day my sister and i went through my art tag and i was literally crying with laughter at some of those pieces alskjdf (particularly this one). they're sooo bad but they were my best work at the time! as much as i cringe to look at them now, it's nice to remember how far I've come. There are still so many things I struggle with and things i disappoint myself about, but that's normal because I am still growing. no one stops growing. the artists you look up to the most, whose work seems absolutely flawless to you, are still growing.
and YOU are growing too! whether you feel like you are or not. sometimes it takes looking back to realize it. i'm really glad you can see your improvement! honestly, that's a skill too! having a healthy mindset about your own development can take a lot of internal work so I'm really proud of you for that.
(i got very rambly so cut for the rest lol)
and honestly sometimes the improvement isn't even about what the art looks like—it can just be about how you feel about making it. I think one of my biggest improvements in the last year was getting comfortable with drawing and sharing things that are Bad and Ugly! for example:
Tumblr media
the first one i drew 3 years ago, just a few months into learning how to draw. the second one i drew about a month ago. they both have obvious flaws and you could even argue that the old one is better drawn than the newer one. so it's like omg did i not improve at all after over 3 years?? did i actually get worse? lol. no! because a lot of the improvement is internal.
you'll notice that the first one was done in pencil and the second one is pen. it took me years to feel confident enough to sketch in pen because you can't erase! you have to commit to the lines! you can actually see tons of erase marks in the first one, but i didnt even use my white-erase tape at all on the second one. also, the first one is a screen redraw. i was just looking at the image and trying to replicate what i saw the best i can. the second one is new scenes/poses that came from my brain—not that they are very complicated/impressive lol, but there's a difference there. and what you can't see at all is just my attitude about drawing them! i can't particularly remember doing the first one but i guarantee i spent forever on it and was nervous about posting it. second one probably took me 7 mins and i knew it was ugly but i was zero percent embarrassed about that lol. that's progress baby!! cant even tell you how much of a difference it has made to me to let myself draw ugly things. i draw ugly things all the time. some of them get posted online. some of them get shared with one or two friends. some of them get shared with no one. and i've finally learned how to either embrace them as what they are or just shrug it off and go, "you know, this is not it! moving on." blank pages are so intimidating because you have a million opportunities to mess things up, but you also have a million opportunities to explore and learn and experiment and have fun and also to surprise yourself with what you're capable of.
i started out with nothing but a pencil and some powerful blorbo brainrot, and that was enough! that has been enough to power me through years of all the struggles and triumphs that artists go through. it was enough to help me push through every art block and keep drawing to the point that my instincts have improved and things that used to be almost impossible for me are just regular hard lol. i've actually illustrated for a print magazine a few times now, and a few weeks ago i finished my first animatic—which i always wanted to do but didn't have the skill or confidence for.
sorry this is so long, i'm just very passionate about this subject lol!! i just want every growing artist to know that if you keep trying and having fun, improvement is not only possible but inevitable. like, you don't even have to do formal studies if you don't want to. keep looking at art that you like and figuring out what is appealing to you. keep drawing what you feel like drawing. if you're no longer inspired by a piece or it's a little too tough for you right now, it's ok to drop it. you can come back later or never. you have infinite opportunities to make new and better art. and don't forget to give yourself credit for the progress you've already made. it's so hard not to compare yourself to others, and literally everyone—even the best and brightest—feels bad about their work sometimes. but try to compare yourself to your past self and pat yourself on the back for your improvement! it's okay to grow slowly, or in a way that's not so visible on the outside. just remember that you are growing, and you will only get better and better.
also, side note about notes/likes: i know it sucks to feel like your work is not getting attention when you poured a lot into it :( this might sound rich coming from me because i feel that people have been incredibly generous toward my work from the very beginning. but just know that popularity is not really about who "deserves" what, and it's not an accurate reflection of skill either. so if you feel unseen, that doesn't mean your stuff sucks. and you never know what your work might have meant to the people who saw it, even if there aren't that many. art doesn't have to be popular to be meaningful, and it doesn't have to be perfect either.
the world is a little richer and more beautiful because of the ways you are growing and the things you are sharing. so thank you, and please don't stop.

🖍️ When did you start drawing? Do you remember?
☕ Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)
✨ How often do you draw?
- As young as 4 or 5. @otterlywyrdfirbolg and I would sit in the same chair together and draw on the same page with crayons! We had some wild ideas back then. Even coming up with HUGE projects and story ideas. So, yes. I definitely remember! :D
- Ehhh....sorta? Sorta not? If I'm struggling with something, I'll do quick side doodles innan attempt to figure something out. And there are plenty of times where I erase the initial sketch, or just leave an X next to it, and attempt to redraw it afterwards.
- Depends on how I'm feeling, or how many ideas I have. Lately it's been every evening. Sometimes more than once a day! I should take breaks, but I'm afraid of forgetting how to draw someone or something.

I guess you've already got a dozen of these BUT
💕 self-love time! talk about which ones of YOUR creations (edits, artworks, fanfics) you like the most then send to other creators to do the same 💕
That is a rather flattering assumption, my dear, but I believe I've proven to have a horrible track record in answering asks, and where is the fun in sending such nice asks to someone who will just hoard them and then feel too ashamed to answer months late? ^^; Anyway, thank you very much for this askl! ❤️ And while it is a bit mean to make me pick favourite(s) from my children, I'm only gonna pick one here (not even my biggest recent fave), because I want to talk about it and show off some details.
I thought about picking my recent cowboys DTIYS redraw, because that would illustrate pretty well the direction where my art inevitably seems to be going (and the one time where Cobb's face didn't fight me like it was his job - and returned to the old normal of Din giving me grief lol) BUT, then I remembered that I filled my (so far) last Desert Witch!Cobb AU drawing with quite a few details, and I want to show them off and talk about them a little. So here we go:
Tumblr media
I wanted to showcase the colour palette I predominantly used in all my pieces for the Monster Mash drawings - I'll admit that I'm not very confident in my colours, so Procreate's feature of generating colour palettes for me from already existing photos is an absolute godsend, otherwise I'd be stuck with my purples and pink-oranges for eternity. I had to add the blue for a bit of contrast though, but by the third drawing I really enjoyed the warmth of these bright oranges and reddish browns. They added to a nice and cozy feeling while I was freezing and huddling close to my little electric heater.
Plus this is a good shot to point out all the shinies dangling from Cobb (he's now got a mythosaur pendant with dangling beads for the teeth(?)), and the tattoo on his arm I had an awful lot of fun with! Something's clicked in my brain and now it's permanently stuck on pairing Cobb with suns and moons imagery (mostly the moons, because A) Din is the one who is shiny and blinding and hurtful to look at when he's fully decked out in his armour, and B) I find the dichotomy of the deadly sharp points and curve of a crescent moon vs the gentle face of a full moon very fitting for our Marshal here). So he's got two crescent moons on the underside of his forearm and elbow, and a third one on the right side of his neck. And there is also a sun on the curve of his shoulder, behind the sharp-toothed skull (because I gave in and finally put a sun on him after you all somehow kept seeing it on him - although it still eludes me how you managed that ^^;). He had another one on his right shoulder as well, but well. Glass doesn't take all that well to tattooing, does it? He's also got a lot of swooping cloud and smoke shapes to match his eternally billowing robes and the sand-storms that hide in his pockets.
And now to the fun part of the chaos that the background was:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really wanted to put an absolute mess of a workbench behind Cobb, and I tried my best to deliver it - then forgot to take into consideration how much of it he'd block out with his shoulders XD and so I filled it with books, datapads and candles, little notes and jars and vials and a real fancy scale that I tried to model after the krayt dragon. And then once I realized how many of those details got covered up, in my infinite wisdom I erased everything instead of just masking them out so that I wouldn't even be tempted to somehow work them back into the picture... so I had to take these snapshots from my process video (hence the poor screenshot quality, sorry ^^;) but this way you can also see how I used those box shapes to try and keep even the otherwise circular/organic shapes of the flowers and pots (and cauldrons omg, were those a struggle!) in perspective. I think that was a neat little trick.
It was really challenging, and I cursed myself a lot for the angle I picked for this picture, but in the end it was very rewarding to see that while I never thought I'd ever be able to pull off a detailed background, I still managed to do this here!

art asks 4-9
4. favorite thing to draw
i'm always out here drawing some Fave themself with an Expression, so evidently [expressive faces] would have to be it i suppose lol....within that, naturally eyes are fun but that can also kind of be kinda a trial sometimes like uh oh gotta get this right & really hone it. whereas i think after that i'm always using the Mouth for a lot of expression too, and there's also less pressure there as it were lol / i have fun with the like shape flexibility and lips & teeth are just details to have a good time with
5. least favorite thing to draw
me and a zillion other people across space and time like Ugh hands and/or feet....the eternal challenge can be kind of fun to wrangle in ways and it's easy for it to be worth bothering to include hands because of what all can Else can be included when that happens, but for god's sake lmao
6. warm colors or cold colors
things that make me remember like oh right i guess the like electric blues / ceruleans i love are technically cold, right. it's so Vivacious i forget it isn't warm lol, it's clearly bright/saturated colors time around here as the main thing....but i'm also pretty specific about that blue vs using Other blues nearly as much, whereas i'm more flexible when it comes to like, warmer purples, pink, breaking into some orange, maybe yellow bgs or highlights even....but it's so difficult to say lmao coz i wouldn't give up that fave blue ever. i also enjoy a good green but absolutely almost never use it lol and i feel i lean to the warmer side there lol, definitely some cool green i like, the Blue that's my fave is certainly more towards green than True Blue or whatever, but a more yellow green is v fun to me....so it's tricky lol like that particular blue & my favoring it / frequent use of it can't be denied, but other than that, it's immediately all these warm colors. this is sure a pretty straightforward question lmao, and yet
7. show us a WIP
immediately get an F in answering this question b/c this isn't a wip but just some quick sketches that sometimes unfold from like. well i feel like drawing but i'm absolutely Not actually going to end up w/anything fancy so i'm just goofin around
Tumblr media
and here's an actual wip that i strategically walked away from for awhile in the hopes of a later Fresh Take in what edits should be made or if i should just start from scratch a third time if anything (looking at it now i think hopefully the former lol) with the concept of "i think winston should be comfy & cozy in bed"
Tumblr media
(tayston pic is a wilft(a), wip i'd like to finish tonight (ambitiously))
8. what’s the most fun and the least fun parts about your process
hmm i can usually have a great time w/like, little details, like at any given point it's just the nature of my style like oh boy time for this one swoopy line, that's fun. or like here's lines below eyes, highlights in the eyes, here's a lil show of gumline above the teeth, enjoy throwing around the trademark Z/N scribbles, stuff that's reliably generally not that difficult to execute but i think is a rewarding/enhancing Detail....on the flipside it can be like ruh roh the curse of the Geometry and feeling the need to get it just right as per my own sensibilities when the effect wouldn't really be changed for anyone else, like "oh yep spent like forty minutes here repeatedly erasing & redrawing the tail of this speech bubble" then "tfw another half hour repeatedly erasing & redrawing these tiny radiating lines segments" lol it's not like necessarily a Torment but. also sometimes when i try for colors that aren't just monochrome / stylized it can be like wuh oh. not great at that lol and can get into trouble there like, well let's see if enough overlays can save my life
9. show us a finished piece right alongside the original sketch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
think we're all having formatting difficulties w/putting images side by side so it's Sequential Only i guess lol. turns out it's wild how many older drawings just have no sketch layer lol like i'd just get in on the lineart and never look back....whereas nowadays already nigh unthinkable lmfao like absolutely we start w/a sketch....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
huoughhh i was like ah jeez lmao i gotta post these, these sketches are so cute to me ;m;

SeahDaLune's 2019 art recap
(Note: this is a reupload of a thread i did on twitter a few years back. so these are really old.)
Since the decade of 2010 is almost over, I decided to make a thread of my best drawings from 2019! (Yes, 2019. I didn’t like the others, sooooo...)
January! I still lined my drawings with a pen back then... I would’ve lined my drawings now, but I’m now way too used at not lining XD The character I drew was a Pokémon FC called Sam, and was originally going to be one of the protagonists of an unmade comic.
Tumblr media
February! I stopped lining my drawings starting from this one! Let’s just say I didn’t feel like erasing the lines that day. The character I drew here belongs to Sashley on YouTube! I remember being super proud of the fanart I made. I find it terrible TBH. [2023 note: wow, that's a name i haven't thought of in a while. does she still make animation memes? wait, she does still make animation memes.]
Tumblr media
March! Nothing much to say, as nothing interesting happened that month. I remember being extremely busy with drawing someone’s OC for payment on DeviantArt though. This is one of the payments I drew! Still quite messy, even if it’s relevantly cleaner than the Sashley fanart.
Tumblr media
April! This is where my coloring FINALLY starts looking better (If you just looked at one of my pre-May arts, you might see it) This character is actually a whale version of my OC, Yevi-Wii! Or maybe she’s a FC? I don’t know! I kinda want to redraw her soon. [2023 note: i never drew her ever again]
Tumblr media
May! AKA my birth month! I drew a lot of my Deltarune AU characters on that month. This is one of the AU characters! He’s just a younger version of canon Seam. I should draw young Seam again.
Tumblr media
June! I drew Ralsei a lot for some reason. I don’t think I knew how to draw goat bois back then. Not that I know how to now. This is one of the many Ralsei’s I drew! I, uh... don’t like it as much as I did then.
Tumblr media
July! This is one of my top 3 favorites of 2019! The character here is Jevil! I used to like Jevil a lot. I like him now, just not as much as back then. I honestly like how happy he looks.
Tumblr media
August! As I had just came back from America, my drawings were looking rusty. Thankfully, I managed to warm myself back. This is smol Muffet. She is very very smol. I now realize that I drew tons of child versions of Deltarune/Undertale characters.
Tumblr media
September! As it was the month of Undertale’s anniversary, I drew something Undertale related! Yes, this is an Undertale character. I honestly cannot get enough of Undertale. Play Undertale. Praise Undertale. And don’t forget to pat the dog.
Tumblr media
October! A month after that, is Deltarune’s anniversary! I drew Kris for this, as Kris is... very intriguing to me. I am rather proud of this one! I also love how it was captured by my phone too, as most of the time the drawing looks super crappy when taken picture.
Tumblr media
November! Unfortunately, art block happened that month, so I couldn’t get anything properly done that month. So have a scribble of my BNHA OC, made on November.
Tumblr media
December! The reason I have two here is because I couldn’t decide which one to choose! I modeled the clay figure after my camp friend J chan, who loved Todoroki! As for the drawing, it’s my OC Jei. He was originally an adopt I made, but I loved him so much so now he’s my son. [2023 note: i lost contact with J chan around 2020, when she deactivated her discord. that was my only form of contact with her so i basically lost her for good... though, i never talked to her much outside of camp after getting her discord so it was probably for the best. playground friends stay as playground memories, yaknow.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s the all the art highlights of 2019! (And the 2010s decade TBH) Thank you for supporting me on Twitter for the last 2 years! Mutuals, followers, or even the rando’s who retweeted my art! I appreciate all of what you did, as you helped me push my art to what it is now!
People I’d like to specially thank: [the many names that i either still talk to or have lost contact since] And many others I might have forgotten.
That’s all I have to say, so have a great New Years! And hope you have a great 2020s as well! Bye, 2010s! We will miss you!

Ur shapes are glorious how do you do it
✨magic✨
but, just in case you're asking seriously, I just look how other people do it. look how big successful artists and studios do their shapes, analyze it, try to copy it and then do your own thing. watch cartoons!! a lot of them!!!!!! cartoons always have great shapes, and you also can see them in motion! off the top of my head i can recommend "Mune, The Guardian Of The Moon", "Wolfwalkers" (and everything else from Cartoon Saloon), "Klaus", "Zootopia", i also highly encourage you to check out the artbooks to all of these, where you can see the rough sketches and concepts, like “the true ones”. from the artists id say jollieart, porkbellyramen, jonatan_cantero, coryloftis, evelmiina, grassflu and many many other that i can't remember. also Ethan Becker has a lot of good videos on shapes, his content is not for everyone, but he explains and talks about important things, so its worth checking. this video is also really really good and you should totally watch it.
I would also recommend if not insist on getting a cheap little sketchbook where you can just go ham and practice shapes. draw with black marker or a pen or ink, this way you won't have the ability to erase and redraw things. try to keep your lines clean. set a time limit! experiment!! don't be afraid to do crazy things and let your hands create, no one will ever see this sketchbook and judge you, it's for you and you only. at first things will look bad and messy, but the more you draw analyse and think, the better your understanding of shapes get.
this is all I have for now! hope you find it helpful :3
if you want me to talk more about designs and shapes just ask! i would be glad to ramble about all this stuff

OKAY I’m gonna make this post now or else I’m gonna forget
(warning: video has flashing sometimes)
This is the speedpaint of the fanart I made of @birch-forest, @bedrock-to-buildheight and @light-blue-glazed-terracotta! It’s a bit cringe in a some places but I wanted to post it for a couple of reasons.
All three of you have seen the art now
The drawing process was pretty interesting in my opinion
This was my first time taking drawing seriously in a long time
So here are some things to notice in the speedpaint.
I started with red lines outlining the three characters I already made in MS Paint
I’ve never made poses before so for birch-forest I made you look like a mannequin before I added flesh and bone
For a brief moment the eyes and eyebrows of birch-forest were drawn with a 2 pixel brush (the rest of the art is with a 3 pixel brush) because I was doubtful over whether I could squeeze in all the details of your minesona in a dramatic pose
(Turns out I could squeeze it all in, and later in the drawing I replaced the eyes and eyebrows with a 3 pixel brush redraw)
Cactus Walker (aka bedrock-to-buildheight) originally didn’t have pricks, that was something I added later when I had already began coloring
The idea I got for light-blue-glazed-terracotta to hold up a sign of themselves was based off of Dream (that was the cringe part 😬)
I couldn’t figure out how to draw your hair and only came back to it once I had colored birch-forest
The stripes on birch-forest’s design were made by drawing straight lines and erasing where they went over the line-art
I used a Google-searched image of “woman with long hair” or smth like that to nail the flowing hair in front of light-blue-glazed-terracotta
The colors used in the background of the artwork were colorpicked from your guys’ blog appearance on mobile (that’s why you can see screenshots of your blogs flash from time to time)
The “black” used in the line-art isn’t actually pure black, it’s a dark gray I colorpicked from a default Tumblr color palette (the difference becomes apparent when you look at Cactus Walker’s pants, which is colored a pure black)
For a time I had this really hideous background that used the colorpicked colors I mentioned earlier, it was just a bunch of colors blending into each other and it just looked like your eyes weren’t focusing
(I later replaced it with the current background, where the floor is a solid color and its opacity is lowered so it’s softer and doesn’t stand out as much)
I got the design of light-blue-glazed-terracotta and her skin from NameMC, it’s a website where you can search up a person’s Minecraft IGN and you get all of their skin and past username info
I realized after I had finished coloring everyone that I forgot the wings and the heart on the overalls of birch-forest, oh my god your sona has so many details how do you remember them every time you draw them
I made the watermark in the bottom left from scratch, as I do with all my watermarks
I realized at the very end that I missed ANOTHER detail of birch-forest, it was the antennae, oh my god how many details does your sona have
And that’s the end of it! Remember I didn’t draw this all in one go, this took several hours over the course of two days
Also birch-forest I’d like to formally apologize and say that I made a mistake in the original post, I didn’t know that your sona represented your actual self, I’m sorry I only found out about that recently
Aight cya 👋

basic manga cap tutorial || ibis paint x
Tumblr media
I got a request on how I color my manga caps (you can check them out in #morgan-colors-bnha and #morgan-colors-hq), so I thought I’d do this step by step tutorial that walks you through my process!
I color and draw on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note10+) using the stylus provided with the phone, however you can use your finger. For manga cap coloring, I use Ibis Paint X, which you can find HERE for the Google Play Store, and HERE for the Apple App Store! It is a FREE app, and actually really helpful for a number of reasons, which I’ll show you down below! It does go without saying - there are a limited number of brushes that you get with the free section, but I haven’t found them to be too limiting, however I’ve only done basic manga cap coloring. You can watch short ads (I haven’t watched any, so I can’t vouch for the obscenity of them) to use the non-free brushes for a short period of time, though.
The first part of this tutorial is going to be showing you how I took THIS SUGAWARA manga cap and turned it into the one you see HERE (both as pictured on the header image). The second part of this tutorial, attached at the bottom, is a timelapse video where I show you how to turn THIS BOKUTO manga cap into the one you can find HERE.
Alright - without further ado, let’s get into the tutorial! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to drop by my ASK BOX! Hopefully this is in depth enough without being too confusing. ❤
I’m doing this in steps so it can be in depth and informative enough, but I know that can become a little confusing, so I’m going to do my best to explain each step. I’ve also highlighted using little yellow boxes where I’m referencing, as pictured below.
To start, here are the ways I usually find manga caps:
1. Google searches, Pinterest searches, etc. Sometimes they’re already transparent, other times they’re not. I’ve found that I’m able to use the non-transparent ones because of the tools that are within Ibis Paint X.
2. Tumblr blogs - there are some blogs that are meant purely for transparent manga caps.
3. Manga scans. I, personally, haven’t used manga scans, but I know others that use them! They usually require some extra clean up, which can take extra expertise. Removing speech bubbles, backgrounds, etc.
Please remember to provide credit if it’s requested from the original poster!
Tumblr media
Step #1: Open IP (Ibis Paint - I’m not going to say it every time because WOW that would get repetitive) and click on “My Gallery”.
Step #2: This is your gallery - as you can see, all of my prior caps are here, and this is where you will either open an old cap and keep coloring, or start a new one. In the bottom lefthand side, you see I’ve highlighted the “+” sign. This will bring you to the next screenshot.
Step #3: This is where you can choose if you want to create your own canvas, or create a canvas based off of the imported photo. Since I don’t do many “official” manga cap posts where I create a full image set from them, I usually just click on “Import Picture”, and go from there! However, if you want to create an image canvas, and import the picture once you’ve gotten the canvas open, please see Step #6 for how to import the image once you’ve already created a canvas!
Tumblr media
Step #4: This is the screen that should pop up every time you import an image. When you’re doing manga caps especially, you’ll want to hit “Ok”.
Step #5: I believe these are the automatic settings, however if they’re not on your app, these are the settings I use when selecting how to extract the line drawing. Black at 0%, White at 100%, and Middle at 50%. This will remove the background from the manga cap, and only leave the dark line art remaining.
Step #6: This is what the layer should look like once you’ve extracted the line drawing. See highlighted the “+” button - this is how you will add new layers. I chose to add a new layer, which you can see in Step #7. However, if this is where you want to add an image, see the highlighted camera button. This will let you choose an image from your camera roll and import. The “Extract Line Drawing” option will appear each time that you import an image, so don’t worry about triggering it! It will trigger itself!
Step #7: Here is the new layer! I cut out the screenshot from before, but each new layer shows up on top, so I had to use the three little lines on the righthand side to drag it beneath the layer of the Sugawara manga cap layer.
Step #8: I used this new layer to import a photo of Sugawara in his uniform from a quick google search. I actually end up grabbing another one just to make sure I know what the bottom half of his uniform looks like, but I don’t show it just yet. Because the layer is behind, it shows up underneath Suga’s face. I end up erasing the parts that interfere with the cap here in a bit.
Step #9: When you click the brush button down at the bottom, this selection screen comes up. There are a ton of brushes to choose from, but for the base colors, I use “Dip Pen (Hard)” at 100% opacity. I’ve shown it highlighted here!
Tumblr media
Step #10: Now we’re going to create our color palette. Sometimes I will find color palettes online And import them, but for the sake of simplicity, I’m going to use this photo of Suga along with another one that I nab later to create the palette. The way you use the “dropper” tool (if you’re familiar with Photoshop) to select the colors from another portion of the image is to press down rather hard, and then this circular selection tool will pop up. You can keep the pressure and drag it to the specific spot you want to pick up a certain color for. I’ve found that it’s best to do this with my finger instead of my stylus. I’m not sure if it’s because the heat of my finger and the change in pressure is easier to pick up, but that’s what works for me!
NOTE: It is important to note that if you have the eraser tool selected instead of the brush tool, you won’t be able to use the color selector. This might come as second nature to some of you, but it STILL makes me screw up from time to time, haha.
Step #11: Using the dropper/color selection tool from Step #10, I create a small color palette, as you can see in the upper lefthand corner of the image in this step. I grab both the lightest and darkest shades from the different things I’ll need to color in for the cap. I picked up the highlights and shadows of Sugawara’s skintone, eyes, hair, and jersey. I just draw in little overlapping circles so I can switch back and forth between the colors
Step #12: I added an additional layer in the very back of this image, and colored it in completely using a blue shade. This will allow me to make sure that I’ve filled in all of the space behind the manga cap. It’s important to note that in order to color the line art in later, you’ll actually need to “overdraw”. We’ll touch on that more later.
Step #13: As I show here, I have a layer where I use the singular skin tone shade and color in behind the manga cap, filling in all the spaces where Sugawara’s skin is showing. I usually use a different layer for each different shade/color just in the event I need to do a bunch of erasing, or if I need to change the layer style later.
Step #14: Here is where I show how I “overdraw”. I’m not sure if you can see it very well here in these screenshots, but the way that these manga caps are drawn, sometimes the line art isn’t “clean”, it looks more shaded/scratchy. So, in order to combat white space, I usually overdraw and then go back in with an eraser. You can see in Step #15 the size brush I usually use - somewhere between 2.0-4.0, but most of the time I use a 3.0 size brush. I’ll go back in with the eraser with a similar size on the easy parts, and then all the way down to the smallest size - 0.3 for really close quarter erasing.
NOTE: It’s important to realize that the smaller the eraser, sometimes the circumference of the eraser can be really light in opacity as well. You can help this with the intensity of the pressure that you use with your stylus/finger, but I’ve found that sometimes using a really small eraser can be counterproductive. There are times where I’d rather “over” erase in which I actually erase into the cap and then redraw using a small brush size. You’ll have to play around with eraser/brush size and such to see what works best for you!
Step #15: Here is the skin all colored in! You’ll notice I colored in his eyes and mouth, which are going to end up being white in the end. I do this because usually it’s easy to forget that you need to color things in white if you’re doing it against a white background. I oscillate between the colored background and the white/transparent one because sometimes it can be tough to look at that bright color all the time. I’ve found that this is more of a tip/trick for me to be able to remember to color in his teeth and eyes and even sometimes the brow or other features! In the end, this just works for me. You don’t have to do this step!
NOTE: As I stated in Step #14, using pressure can change things. The same goes for this specific pen type - the dip pen. I use about size 3.0 most of the time, but I can actually do really detailed work with this size pen (see Suga’s ears, the spaces between his hair, etc.) by using lighter pressure. I do have a stylus, so this is a lot easier for me. The pressure was a little tricky for me to get down in the beginning, but once you realize how soft/hard you need to press down, you can use bigger brushes for even smaller areas. I find that makes it a lot easier for me, since I don’t have to keep changing the brush tool - which you can do using the sliding bar at the bottom of the screen labeled “Thickness”. The thickness of a brush is the circumference it has when you are using the hardest version of pressure you can muster, so keep that in mind!
Tumblr media
Step #16: Here is where I do the basic coloring for the skin, hair, and eyes. These colors will be relatively the same as the colors from the palette, because there is not a “gray cast” caused by the line art sketch from the manga cap. This means that the skin color that is showing in the manga cap that I’ve colored is pretty close to the original color from the screencap from the anime/the palette that I’ve got in the upper lefthand corner. I do FLAT coloring for this - aka NO SHADING YET. So I only use the LIGHTEST shade for the hair and skin - the ones farthest to the left on the palettes for each section. I do use the DARKEST shade for the eyes, but that’s because usually the lighter shade is the one you use most sparingly, where as with skin, the darker shades are used for shadows only and aren’t used in excess.
NOTE: As previously stated, I do a separate layer for each different color. At this point there should be six layers, as follows (from the bottom up):  Layer 1: Background Layer (Mine is blue, but for the sake of easy viewing, I made it white.) Layer 2: “Notes” Layer - this is where I keep my notes, as in the reference photos, color palette, and any other things here and there.  Layers 3-5: These are the colored layers - skin, hair, and eyes.  Layer 6: Manga Cap Line Art
Tumblr media
Step #17: Here’s where I’m showing the two different orange tones. This is what I meant in Step #16 - The original orange shade is the lower part of Suga’s collar - as you can see, the line art shading makes the color a lot more muted. I used the color wheel to find something brighter, just for a comparison shot. I still choose to use the traditional palette that I pulled from the anime screencap.
Step #18: Now that I’m ready to color the manga cap pieces that are skewed by shading (i.e. his jersey here), I usually turn the manga cap down in opacity, so I’m able to recognize where I need to fill in! This is where I fill in the blue of the jersey, the orange of the collar and other accents, as well as the off-white shade for the number and the line accents.
Step #19: Using the eraser and smaller brush sizes, I fill in all of the flat colors. No shading yet!
Tumblr media
Here comes the time consuming, nuances...
Step #20: I’ve turned back on the colored background layer - sometime between when I started and now, I changed it from blue to pink. If you can zoom in on the image, you’ll see the boxes in white contain “errors”. This is areas where there are “holes” in the coloring, or where I’ve gone outside the lines. I’m going to go back in and clean this all up with the eraser and some more brush work.
NOTE: This is very important, especially if you’re trying to make this a transparent image, or if you’re going to do the extra steps and color in the line work. Any holes, overdrawn, or underdrawn areas will make the final drawing look a little funky.
Step #21: Here is the shading! Honestly, this cap kind of shaded itself, haha. Some manga caps have “built in” shading, as you can see on Sugawara’s arms and neck. I added some shading to his hair and face, trying to use the anime caps as a reference. I’m not very good at shading yet, but I wanted to show it here so you guys could see!
I used the darker shades from the palettes on the eyes, hair, and skin. I didn’t do any shading to the jersey because the manga cap lines already skew it so much, that it didn’t really seem necessary. This can be a really hit-or-miss time, both with areas that you choose to shade, as well as the colors that you use. I would really suggest searching for skin tone palettes if you’re not using the anime screencaps for reference!
Step #22: For my shading, I actually use “clipping” effects. As you can see, the two layers that are highlighted are clipped to the layers beneath. This means that the coloring on the clipped layer will “attach” aka clip itself to the layer beneath and that layer only. So, for the shading of the skin, hair, and eyes, I chose to clip the shaded parts to the base coloring, that way even if I over drew, the colors wouldn’t bleed together.
I did more of what’s called “cell shading” for this manga cap, as well as the Bokuto one that I do in the timelapse video below. What is cell shading? This wiki page explains it pretty well, but basically it’s more “harsh” shading where there’s not necessarily an airbrushed quality to it, it’s more blocky. You can see I only chose to use one color of shading, which makes the contrast much more stark. IP does have several airbrush tools, I’ve used them in my Bakugou manga caps for his gauntlets, and they work really well!
I brought up earlier that it’s important to color your base colors all the way to the edges of the manga cap line art. This clipping effect is why. On Suga’s neck and ears, the darker shade that I used for his skintone goes to the edge and actually underneath the line art of the cap, because it is clipped to the base skintone layer beneath. Had I not made sure to go all the way to the edge of the line art, this would be much more choppy, and there would be white space between Suga’s ear and his hair!
Tumblr media
Step #23: Here is the extra step - line art shading! This can be tricky, depending on the complexity of the line art, the shading, etc. Usually, in choosing a shade to color in the line art, I grab the darkest shade for that section, and then grab something even darker. As seen in Step #18, there is that drop down box that is currently listed to “Normal” - this will need to be set to “Screen” for the current line art coloring layer. You’ll also need to “clip” the layer you’re using for the line art color to the manga cap, meaning it will need to be on top of the manga cap layer - and therefore, should be the highest layer in the image.
For this image, I only did line art coloring on Suga’s face, hair, arms, and neck. I was really satisfied with leaving the jersey alone so far as coloring. I did this mostly because of the sketchy quality of the cap, the line art would be really involved and complicated, and it just wasn’t worth it to me (so sorry lol), and I liked how it looked with the darker color outlining it anyway.
Also, I added little details like making the sweat on Suga’s face outlined in white! And yes, I do know that missed Suga’s beauty mark, but we’re going to pretend I didn’t just do that. I love you, Koushi, please forgive me.
And that’s it! I’m sure there are easier ways to do things, or better ways, haha. But this is my beginner tutorial (as in I’m the beginner, lol). I hope that this helped anyone whose doing it for the first time! I stated this before, but if you have any questions, please feel free to hop into my ASK BOX and ask me! I’d love to help anyone out! And I’ll do my best!
See below an additional manga cap coloring - Bokuto Koutarou this time! I thought doing a timelapse video of me actually coloring in the cap would help you guys out!
PLEASE BE AWARE: This video is in 2x speed so it could not be forever long and really boring lol. With that being said, I do spin the screen around several times while coloring in the cap - this could make you nauseous, so please beware of that before you watch!
Here is a link to the time lapse video on YouTube!
A special thanks to @cutesuki--bakugou who helped me a lot while I was coloring my original caps, and also to @writeiolite who nudged me in the direction of finally starting to color manga caps! And a little thanks to @rouge-heichou since I bugged her about a couple of things as well. And then as always, a huge thanks to @candychronicles because she keeps me sane. Also a special mention to @pixxiesdust because she does really cool gifs and has done a wonderful job in the bookclub of trying to share her knowledge with everyone else.
Disclaimer: I’m no artist, this is just for fun! I’m sure my shading and line art can use some work.. but I’m not focusing on that! Instead I’m just going to keep playing around and having a good time ❤

Madness draws: Behind the Scenes of the latest Farin&Bela pencil drawing.
Aka the one that’s also my icon, even when that was a big risk to take because normally I start hating the photos I have once drawn, especially if I have failed miserably. This is how the drawing itself turned out:
Tumblr media
ATTENTION: The original post about that drawing, with better image, behind this link.
This post is solely about the process itself with lots of pictures and also plenty of gifs, because I promised to do one if people would like to see that and I got some comments saying that they’re looking forward for that. So, here’s now that post!
For starters I have to apologize for the terrible quality that is the photos. I used my phone camera only and never thought about posting them, I just took them as a reference for myself and to show the progress to a friend and only after finishing the drawing I noticed that the angle of the camera causes a huge impact on the perspective of the drawing, so I sometimes might have done useless work when I thought some perspective was wrong when it was actually the photo that was wrong and not my work! I mean, take a look at these photos of the finished piece:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You see that? I realized this when I took maybe the second photo of the Farin sheet and looked at it and couldn’t believe my eyes because I didn’t remember drawing his torsto THAT small! And then I looked at the drawing and was like “wtf???” because it looked nothing like in the photo and then it hit me...
Also, another thing that I learn was that I might need to pay more attention to the perspective of the whole thing also because when I draw, I sit at the table so I am constantly seeing the drawing from my perspective instead of looking at it from above so that’s probably also going to affect the way I draw. I try to keep that in mind in the future so I can avoid redrawing things again and again just because my perspective is different than the reference photo’s.
Also the giant forehead of Farin’s in the photo on the right might have caused me to laugh a bit too much but anyway, let’s continue~ Or more like: let’s start for real this time.
Here’s the reference photo to y’all:
Tumblr media
What I did in photoshop was to draw a line between them to see how I can divide the photo on two A4 papers. I had been thinking about this photo for some time already because it’s one of my favorites (but now I just feel cringy looking at it after I have drawn it... goddamnit!), and I got this idea that I could try drawing it on two papers in case I fuck up so I can start over or try again without having to do twice the work! Which was actually a good decision because this was the first version of Farin:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it was awful. I also realized I had never drawn Farin’s face from he front. I have drawn him before from the side a few times but maybe once it came out actually good so that was why I decided to do the 2 paper method - because I knew it was not going to be an easy job! Bela is relatively easy to draw so I knew already that I would not have too many problems with that one.
I struggled with Farin’s eyes the most, at first.
Tumblr media
It took me a while to figure out how to do that white line in his lower lid. Keep in mind that this was my first face portrait in over 10 years so I was very, very rusty and I just didn’t remember how to draw like anything anymore. (The photo is tilted because Bela’s face is a bit tilted and my hand can’t draw anything that is not straight [lol] so I have to rotate the photo in order to even draw the sketch of Bela’s eyes.)
So I took my sketchbook and tried to do some eyes...
Tumblr media
I was still struggling so much here until I remembered about blending. And I didn’t have my hopes high but grabbed the eyeshadow applicators (my fave tool for blending) anyway, and switched to my other sketchbook in case the paper was the issue and:
Tumblr media
Blending. It was all about blending! So with that in mind, I realized I can continue and I don’t need to do these in my old way, everything doesn’t have to have a lineart done but some of the job is done not with the pencils but with the eraser.
Anyhow, the previous Farin looked really bad and was too big as well so I just discarded that and started a new sheet because the old lines were not coming off properly anymore. I don’t remember if this is the old face or new but I think this might still be the old one:
Tumblr media
Yes it definitely is the old because look at those lines! This is the new sheet:
Tumblr media
And in the photo you can see one of my pencils - I use Derwent Graphic pencils, it’s a 12 pencil set with very soft pencils, starting with H, F and HB and ending to 9B. With this one I used F, HB, B, 2B, 5B, 7B and 9B. The white pencil is actually my new love aka the eraser pencil Koh-I-Noor Hardmuth. It’s amazing, I recommend! I just didn’t order 10 new ones this other day. I actually used about 1,5 full eraser pencils on this drawing alone so that’s why 10.
Here’s a “little” gif of the process on Farin:
Tumblr media
I felt crazy when I went for the shirt, and I felt like I was going crazy MEANWHILE drawing it but in the end I did it and I’m super proud of it!
Tumblr media
Below is the reference photo, it was pain in the ass to follow all those lines with my eyes and try to find what was I drawing and where was I but I think I did good. That was a fun challenge.
Tumblr media
Okay so, when I was done with the new lineart, I decided to go for the shading and blending because that’s what really makes the drawings to pop. I started with the left (his right, my left) side of Farin’s face because I’m right-handed, and in the first photo I had done just the left (right) eye and mouth and nose, but in the second there’s also the other eye done already:
Tumblr media
Keep in mind this was not the last time I drew the eyes. Not even close.
Tumblr media
Something was off with the right (left) eye so I had to do that one again and I noticed that when you blend but haven’t erased and cleaned it yet, it looks like a black eye :DDD So here’s the before and after images of that cleaning. (Cleaning = I draw, blend, erase, draw and blend more when needed and then erase again, and repeat this as many times as I need until it starts to look ready to my eye.)
Tumblr media
So here Farin was “finished” but if you still remember the final piece or compare it to it, you might notice it looks quite different. And you’re right. But more about that later, because at this point I started to work on Bela.
Tumblr media
It actually started really well - I also had to do the whole lineart again because it did not match the size of “finished” Farin. I don’t remember if this is the first or second eye but when I had drawn his eye for the first time, I noticed it was not in line with Farin so I had to redraw it. A gif of the progress:
Tumblr media
What’s that brown paper I’m using, you may ask? Well I noticed that people have some sort of paper on top of their art to keep it from smudging and I have no clue what that is so here’s my poor artist recommendation: baking paper! I tested it and it works (if you just remember to keep it under your hand, that is...) so that is, in fact, baking paper! :DD
I have drawn Bela’s face a few times before and he’s just so much easier to draw. In fact I used 4-5 days on Farin but I managed to start and finish (this version of) Bela just in one day. And that means that out of 12 hours (because I literally used the whole day for drawing) I used maybe like... 5h or something on Bela. That’s how much easier he really is to draw.
I don’t know wtf is wrong with Farin’s face but he’s extremely difficult to draw and I’m not the only one who has been saying this. I guess he just looks so regular but still unique enough to be difficult to draw. Bela then again has features that are very unique and very... caricature-like? I mean that just by drawing his nose or chin you can make a comic book Bela look exactly like himself, and with more realistic style his eyes already do a lot, but Farin’s really the opposite. My comic book version of Farin is literally the most basic version I can draw, it’s how I draw those characters and the only thing that makes him look himself is the hair, and his nose in a side profile. So I think that’s why it’s so difficult to draw him because he doesn’t look too regular but still regular enough to make is a very challenging task to do properly.
So yeah, the same day as I started working on Bela, I was also “finished” with the drawing:
Tumblr media
Also look at how different it looks like from this perspective:
Tumblr media
With the reference photo open in photoshop and I don’t understand how Bela looks more like himself in my drawing than in the photo. Also when I showed the WIP to my brother, he said that I somehow had succeeded at making Farin look more like Farin than what he does in the photo even. It’s weird.
But we were still far from finished. I was going to use the fixative on this soon but it just kept snowing the whole week so I couldn’t so every time I walked past the drawings, I stopped to fix this and that. For days I kept telling myself “I’m done, I can’t do more than this, I can’t do better than this.” and considered the drawing finished but still kept fixing things. Every time I was “done” with the other drawing, I saw something to fix in the other one and once that was done, I felt like the first one wasn’t as good and had to fix something from it too. And that led to a cycle where the other drawing was always better than the other and the worse one needed to be fixed. In the end I was hating the whole process and myself and my skills and I was already ready to abandon this whole thing and call it a day and never ever show it to anyone “because I cannot draw”. The photo above, here’s a list of things I redrew after that:
Bela’s eyes, the right (left) one at least twice.
Bela’s nose.
Bela’s mouth a couple of times.
Farin’s eyes x588045028520
And a list of things I kept fixing and fixing:
Bela’s chin.
Bela’s neck shadows.
Bela’s hairline.
Farin’s whole face was tilted so I tried to fix that.
Farin’s face was too wide, which meant also partially redrawing the ear.
Farin’s hair was too long and wide too.
Farin’s nose.
Farin’s mouth might be the only thing I drew only once and I’m actually still extremely proud of how it came to be. I did the lips solely with blending so that was super exciting to notice how I can use it for drawing and don’t need the pencils for everything!
During Bela’s eyes and nose and mouth especially I was hating myself so much and I felt like I was taking the risk of ruining the whole thing and a few times I was certain that was what I had just done too, until I somehow was able to save it again. But because of that, I wasn’t able to make Bela’s mouth any lighter anymore, the color wasn’t just coming off the paper so had to use what was there and make it look like it’s how it’s supposed to be, too.
Here’s a gif about those changes on Bela - the first one has the old eyes and nose, the others have minor changed on the nose and mouth:
Tumblr media
(The blacks probably don’t get any blacker in reality, I did add more color to it all the time but mainly it’s just the lighting and my phone camera changing the brightness.)
I did the final details on his nose without even using the reference photo anymore. The photo didn’t seem to make any sense anymore at all so I was just using my mechanical pencil and the blending tool and eraser to make is look better. To my eye it looked more like a very flat nose with a big tip of the nose and he doesn’t have a flat nose and I tried to get rid of that illusion. I still feel like it makes him look bit weird but I’m not entirely sure how. Maybe it was because of my improvisation, idk...
So, Bela was then finally finished for the last time. In the Farin piece his left (right) eye had been bugging me the whole time and I didn’t want to touch it but still I felt like I have to do something about it because it was bugging me way too much. I then figured I could draw the eye line by line and take a photo of it each time to see if it looks right already or not, maybe I could then avoid doing all the phases before I was sure what to think about it. I mean, now the only way to see if it was correct was to draw e.g. an eye from start to finish, I couldn’t see from just the lineart or unblended eye if it was in the right spot etc. And here’s that progress on a gif:
Tumblr media
The gif about only the eye would look so nice if Tumblr didn’t make the gifs so HUGE - this one is actually only 300px or 400px or something:
Tumblr media
Apparently I also wasn’t happy with the other eye because:
Tumblr media
But good thing is: I really enjoy drawing eyes. I love seeing them to “come alive”, my favorite part was to eraser a bit of the color on the iris to make them look like they are actually shiny! It feels like something so small to do and yet it makes a huge impact on the drawing!
And here’s yet another gif of the whole Farin sheet with all of the changes, including the last changes that made his head narrower, and less tilted and more in line. Look at the left side of his head especially to see that:
Tumblr media
I can also see his nose changing between the first few photos. I keep forgetting about that but yeah, I also fixed that a little at some point.
And last but not least, the whole drawing in some sort of a timelapse gif:
Tumblr media
Last two are the same but just a photo and the scan of the finished drawing. I still keep seeing things I would do differently but no can do, I already used fixative on it, also to keep myself from obsessing with it any more :D And to use it as a study of some sort. I have never been able to draw a perfect pencil drawing and this isn’t one either. I probably never can draw perfect drawings from references.
I do enjoy the whole shading and blending process, so much so that when I was editing these photos, I just wanted to start drawing something so bad but I also figured that I start to lose motivation when I get to the point where everything should be finished but I just can’t make it perfect. Like the current WIP I have, all I should do is to get the proportions and perspective and the lines of their faces correctly and I would be ready but it feels more like a superpower some people possess and I’m not one of those. I don’t know what is it but I just feel that I cannot see. I don’t know how to explain it, but I can’t see what I try to do and somehow keep drawing everything the wrong way. Just like in this post’s drawing too. There’s still things that are wrong and I know what it is but I don’t know how to solve it. My hands just don’t listen to me and they can’t do what I think they should. I also think the reason I cannot draw perfect copies of photos is because you can always see my “handprint” in them. If I copy a photo, it will look like a photo and not like a drawing made by me. So I believe that in my drawing there’s always a part of me visible and I’m not entirely sure if it’s a good thing or not. On bad days it’s not a good thing, obviously. On good days? Well I guess it’s good then because it just means I have my own style which I really should appreciate. But I wish I had my style only when I want it to be visible, but I can’t control it. Just like I cannot write text by hand that would look like it was written with a computer, so I guess I should just try to get used to it, no matter how much it’d bug me sometimes.

Meet the creative team: “Spellstone”
Tumblr media
Are you a collectible card game (CCG) fan? If so, read on, because this week we spoke to the makers of Spellstone, a free-to-play (F2P) casual story-based fantasy card game that features vibrant, colourful, hand-drawn art on hundreds of beautiful cards that you can acquire and use in battle, both against the computer and other players!
TIGR: PABLO and DUSTIN are artists who have worked on Spellstone's art, helping create some of the iconic characters Spellstone fans know and love. We asked them how they came to work on the game, as well as what intrigued them about this project.
Tumblr media
DUSTIN: I was working as a contract artist when I was asked to create some sample cards for a potential CCG, which is something I'd always wanted to do. The samples I submitted eventually led to me getting a contract to create the initial art for Spellstone. After about four months, I was offered a full-time position. I had such a great experience working with the team that I jumped at the opportunity!
PABLO: Prior to starting work on Spellstone, I remember doing an art piece to test my skills. I greatly enjoyed that because I particularly liked this game's art style - which is actually similar to my own! There were still slight differences though, so I've had to adapt a little. Blending my own personal style into an existing one was challenging. But something that intrigued me about Spellstone was the variety of factions in the game. Each and every one opens up a big array of possibilities when it comes to creating a character. I felt my options were unlimited and I loved it!
TIGR: Spellstone features many different cards and characters. We wanted to know who conceptualises all this, and how much creative licence artists get when crafting a character. FERNANDO, currently the main artist for the game, gave us more insight.
Tumblr media
FERNANDO:  That Spellstone has such an immense variety of characters means it's a complete and delightful dish for artists. It's hugely gratifying to find such visual diversity with which to play with. You're completely free to create, as long as you respect the game's universe and visual language.
As for the process, the concept of what a card must look like and how it must be functional in terms of gameplay comes from the guys in the game design department. Very creative people... sorcerers maybe? I don't know. Haha!
From a brief but concise description they give me, I can get a sense of what kind of character and action they want to see in a card. Once I have all the information I need to start sketching, my favourite hour finally begins: creative hour!
If the card description involves an existing type of character, like a goblin, part of the fun has to do with the way you depict that character, situation, action and specific emotion. There's also some freedom to create from scratch if needed - that's exciting and challenging! Sometimes the ideas come from a mix of characters, and that's when the laboratory inside my mind starts working: I press a button and something cool, spooky or funny comes out - whatever the game requires. Other times, new concepts require that I look for approximate references of what's needed, so that serves as the starting point. No matter what, it's always a very enjoyable process. Sometimes we have to make corrections, that's true. But as with everything in life, this is necessary for things to work properly. You may have to redraw stuff, but finally the card is done - it works, it delivers and it entertains!
TIGR: In Spellstone, cards can be upgraded from a single to a dual to a quad, and we really like that this sometimes tells a "mini story" of of sorts through the artwork. Some are funny (we just love Honeycomb Lobber!), some cute (Bomb Spirit is soooo adorable when he’s angry!), some uplifting (Aurora Shaver ranks among our favourites), and some, um, a bit disturbing, to be honest (Cleaverstorm Hunter, anyone?!)! And some are just sad - we can't help but feel sorry for the poor li'l forest furries that presumably got devoured by Alphamech Stalker! We asked the team how they came up with ideas for all these tiny narratives, and MELINDA, one of the game designers, told us more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MELINDA: When I was younger, there were a few creatures in video games that terrified me. One of those I remembered most was Medusa, an air jellyfish from Ecco: The Tides of Time. While traversing through a water pathway in the sky, Medusa would try to pick up Ecco the dolphin and fling him off the path. Tetraspout's concept came from that, and you can even see poor little dolphins getting swept up in its attack!
Tumblr media
TIGR: We asked the team if there were any cards they particularly liked creating, or found challenging to conceptualise. IVÁN, a colorist who worked briefly on the game, chipped in, as did TONY and RHADA, two of Spellstone's game designers.
DUSTIN: I loved working on the goblin cards! You could get silly with them. Frogs were a lot of fun too - the variety of colours made them interesting. For me, the water cards were challenging but I grew to love working on them.
PABLO: My favourite characters are Goblins! You can play around with them, making them look funny even when the card is telling a dark story, like a massacre. All of the cards were challenging to create!
Tumblr media
IVÁN: I enjoyed working on Hedron The Critical Threat, Zyd The Unhinged, and some awesome Insect cards that have yet to be released (as of the time of this interview). I mostly liked them because of their cool concepts and Fernando's awesome sketches. Hedron in particular was a technical painting challenge, as it has textures, transparencies and glow!
Tumblr media
TONY: As something of an artist myself (/sarcasm), the card I am most proud of has to be Dinged Waptor. Or really any of the cards I did for the April Fool's event, which is about the only time the art team lets me anywhere near card art. :) For April Fool's, I decided it would be funny to try my hand at drawing some cards I felt players would enjoy. So the first year I drew some original characters that consisted of a few stick figures, a chicken, and a bomb. The response was good, so the following year I continued the tradition, eventually going through and tracing some famous cards like Winged Raptor. My one rule while making these cards was that I could not erase what I did!
Tumblr media
RHADA: We used to sell boxes that contained two new premium cards instead of one. We thought of making both cards in the box thematically linked. At the same time, while brainstorming concepts for dragons, I thought we could try to make cards that formed a bigger picture on the battlefield when placed consecutively, side by side. The initial idea was a serpent whose artwork overflowed into a second card, and after some iteration, we stumbled upon the idea of a dragon dance. The result was very cool!
Tumblr media
TIGR: With the Spellstone story campaign recently concluded, we asked what was next in store for Spellstone fans. Would there be anymore new characters and amazing art to look forward to?
TONY: Absolutely! While the main story has come to a close, we still look forward to adding new characters, cards, and art to the game that lets our artists have fun and shows off the world of Spellstone.
Tumblr media
TIGR: And finally, the most important question of all: would real-life Spellstone merchandise ever be made available for fans of the game? We really want a plushie of the adorable Bomb Spirit (complete with detachable bombs, perhaps?), as well as his angry counterpart, Firebomb Spirit! Also for Quetee Que and Adorabilis, please! And would there ever be any actual physical Spellstone cards produced for collectors?
Tumblr media
TONY: I would personally love to see real-life merchandise, but we currently do not have the means to take on such an endeavour. Maybe one day we can strike a partnership with a team that can make this happen!
We thank the Spellstone team for their time and all the wonderful art assets that accompany this interview! Check out the game here on Kongregate, on Steam, or on mobile - three different ways you can enjoy this fun, cheeky and adorable CCG!
P.S. We just had to include our favourite card: Darkwater Adonis - don’t be fooled by his charms!

The Magnus Archives Liveblog Ep. 34:
• “Anatomy Class”  • Heck yeah, it’s art time boys • wHO THE HECK IS THIS NEW PERSON • I mean, I’m all for medical stuff but that came out of the blue • It sounds a bit too awkward and nervous to be Elias • I’m assuming, at least • “you know you have an infestation, right?”  • Dr. Lionel Elliot??? • Makes sense, dealing with squeamish students in an advanced anatomy class could be difficult.  • Fun fact, I’m not a very squeamish person due to reading some of my parents medical textbooks when I was younger. I got desensitized after a while.  • Dang, this professor is the epitome of done with this shit • If he can’t remember their faces but remembers their names, is he just suppressing the memory or something else? • This dude sounds so anxious it’s relatable • So suddenly developing breathing abilities • Fish people?  • Fish people • Nah, there’s nothing weird about them, they’re just cartoon characters, that’s why their clothes are the same • Poor dude, he sounds so close to a nervous meltdown.  • They could just be cracking their bones, my man.  • Artists erasing and redrawing be like “shh, no one will know how many times I had to redraw this” • Look man, telekinesis is hard to control man, give her a break.  • They’re just kindergarten aliens trying to figure out how to perfect their human being smh • Leave them be, they’re learning how to human properly, professor man.  • wHY WOULD YOU TRY TO STALK YOUR STUDENTS WHO ALREADY CREEP YOU OUT???? • Someone give this man a refund, his survival instincts didn’t come with the rest of the product.  • If you had 15 minutes to burn, why didn’t you reconsider??? •  Well, at least he did try to avoid them.  • Aww, that’s cool, they left their teacher an apple • Well maybe they were studying the tooth fairy when they got the apple, who knows.  • Wait wait wait, he just waltzed in the place with a tooth apple just hanging out in his pocket???? • Jon like “ewwwwww, keep your tooth apple”  • Pffffffft “technically medical waste”  • Ooh, more information about the Magnus Institute? • Apparently, the fact that it came from a fellow scholar makes it worth questioning??? • Ohhh, so the Magnus Institute is like the token punchline for scholarly joking?  • Jon defending his workplace like “it’s been here for tWO WHOLE CENTURIES, leave us aLONE”   • Placeholder names, huh.  • Another anatomy teacher with a weird connection • Interesting take on the “non supernatural” nature of this, Jon

Choices Made
Below are the choices I headcanon Max made throughout the game. Some are canon compliant, some are things I feel would have made more sense. Under the cut bc this is a Long Fucking Post. Inspired by @judesowndaughter.
Episode 1: Chrysalis
Max chooses to report Nathan to Principal Wells. Of course, as stated in my Save Bay AU, Blackwell goes into lockdown. Finding Nathan isn’t difficult, and his punishment is much more severe, leading to him being pulled from school for the next week. He cannot confront Max.
Max does not get paint/water on Victoria. Granted, this requires a rewind, where Max sees how upset/humiliated Victoria is, and they share a brief moment that inspires Max to rewind. instead of messing with the water and paint, Max opts to stand her ground much less irately, simply walking away and using another entrance.
Max erases Kate’s slate. Self explanatory. In the event that it continues to be vandalized, Max continuously keeps an eye on it, erasing it and redrawing something kind.
Max doesn’t rearrange Victoria’s pictures. In the event that Max dumped paint/water on Victoria and saw it play out before rewinding, she leaves a post-it on Victoria’s wall complimenting the photos anonymously.
Max doesn’t touch the pregnancy test in Danas room, but asks about it bluntly. She and Dana talk, and Max comments on how Dana deserves better than Logan. If Trevor is brought up, Max will encourage Dana that he ‘seems nice’.
Max confronts David to protect Kate. However, she wants proof of David being shitty, so takes a photo, keeps it, and rewinds to intervene. Later, she uses this photo as evidence against David to Joyce.
Max stays hidden  during Chloe’s confrontation with David. Despite wanting to intervene, wanting to stand up for her friend, she just can’t. Max is already shy by nature unless pushed to a point, and a violent, shouting man is too much for her.
Episode 2: Out of Time
Max erases Kate’s video link. Albeit less scary than intervening between Chloe and David, Max does not want to get in the middle of Victoria and Kate.
Max advises Kate to go to the police. Beyond this, Max handles the conversation much more delicately. She listens, gently prying for details, but doesn’t insinuate any of it was Kate’s fault or doubting her story. She offers to go to the police with Kate, or to the hospital.
Max rejects Warren’s invitation to the drive-in. She gently lets him down, explaining he’s a little young for her, but that he’s a great friend and if he wants to hang out as friends, she’s cool with that.
Max answers Kate’s phone call. Furthermore, considering what Kate said about what she suspects happened to her, Max demands Chloe drive her back to Blackwell, where she spends the day with Kate instead of Chloe.
Max attempts to save Kate from jumping. I don’t want to box Kates into a choice either way, so I’ll leave it at combining all the previously mentioned choices to decide if Kate jumps or not.
Max blames Nathan for Kate’s attempt. Given the info she has, from Kate, and assuming Victoria took the video, Max gathers that Nathan was responsible, and pins it on him. Wells is skeptical after she also blamed him for the shooting, but says he’ll look into it.
Episode 3: Chaos Theory
Max refuses to let Chloe steal the money/the pool scene does not take place. Depending on Chloe’s reaction to Max going back to the dorm to comfort Kate, Max can be incredibly cold with her, telling Chloe to focus on the investigation. Finding that Rachel up and disappeared during a weekend, Max suggests digging into what was happening that week and asking around if people remember seeing her. Chloe gets angry about Max’s harshness, and leaves. Following her out, Max and Chloe both hear a gunshot ring through the Bay, unknowingly having heard Rachel being being shot in the junkyard and attributing it to hunting season.
Max convinces Chloe to let her come home with her to investigate further. They go back to Chloe’s house, and the investigation that took place during episode 4 instead takes place here.
Max kisses Chloe on a dare. Sleep-deprived but giddy, feeling close to solving what happened to Rachel, Chloe suggests Max try on Rachel’s clothes so she doesn’t have to wear her dirty clothes. Max obliges, feeling like she’s finally getting to be Chloe’s best friend again instead of Rachel, and kisses Chloe. However, the awkwardness of the kiss surprises Max, and something feels off, although she can’t place what.
Max doesn’t get Pompidou hurt. Not having previously been there for Chloe’s confrontation with Frank, Max doesn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation, and so doesn’t really grasp that Pompidou is supposed to be an attack dog. She goads him with the bone, but tosses it further back into the RV instead of outside, and investigates the RV with Chloe.
Episode 4: Dark Room
Max spends extra time in the alternate reality. She accepts Victoria’s offer to go smoke in the bathroom, taking this time to ask questions about her new reality, and trying to suss out how she can end her rivalry with Victoria in the original timeline.
Max chooses not to accept Chloe’s request. Knowing how many times Chloe has died, and that this is the one timeline in which Chloe gets to be with her dad, Max refuses to kill her.
Max holds Warren back from fighting Nathan. Chloe, however, takes this opportunity to take revenge for her drugging and near-assault, beating Nathan up until both Max and Warren pull her away.
Max forces Chloe to accompany her into Kate’s hospital room. Chloe knew Kate at least distantly, and Max needed her to see the repercussions of Chloe’s flippant, selfish attitude about the phone call.
Max mediates the conversation with Frank. Since Max treated Pompidou kindly, and Pompidou remembers her scent, the dog reacts positively. This sets the tone for the conversation, and Frank is more willing to help the girls, and the girls listen to Frank.
Max warns Victoria about the Dark Room. Given the building of their friendship in both universes, Max knows how to explain it to Victoria in a way that will convince her. When this results in Victoria being taken to the Dark Room, once she’s able, Max rewinds to warn Victoria to stay away from Mr. Jefferson.
Episode 5: Polarized
Max tells David about Chloe. Despite the fact that David saved her, Max is still angry for how he previously treated her, Kate, and Chloe. She tells him out of a hope that he will change his ways, and realize he doesn’t know everything and his paranoid ways don’t always lead to the truth.
Max saves as many as she can. She saves Alyssa and Evan, and the fisherman.
Max tells Frank what happened to Rachel. Frank breaks down over the news, and asks Max how she died. Max tells him the truth, that Mark shot Rachel, and Frank is relieved it was a quick death.
Max hugs Warren. She apologizes ‘for everything’, and of course, he doesn’t fully understand.
Max saves Chloe. She doesn’t tear the photograph, instead keeping it as a constant, palpable reminder of the destruction she caused. Months down the line, after Chloe leaves her and Max finds herself alone with her trauma. Doubt and curiosity work away at her until one night she gets wasted, pulls out the photo, and jumps back in time.
Max saves everybody.

I finally finished redrawing of my character Yuki! Well, it took some time to finish. And I like how I did, but still, if there're some colors that I accidentally took, please note me, and I'll change. Now, some information about her.
A little warning: the story of her I tried to write based on Wakfu eliatrope history, so, please forgive me if there's somrthing not right because I'm not good at writting stories. -_-;
Name: Yuki
Race: Eliatrope
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Likes: dancing and singing, cookies, her gobball friend Chip and her sister Akita
Dislikes: when somebody hurts her friends and sister, foggernauts, larvas and toads (i forgot how they call -_-; )
Personality: Yuki is a girl that likes to explore everything, and because of it she sometimes gets in trouble. She's a friendly girl (well, at least tries to be friend with someone) and kind. Bu when it goes about her past and her race, she doesn't remember anything, and tries to avoid this.
In her past life, Yuki was a young guardian in library that helps her mother to protect notes that her mother made. Yuki liked library because she can find anything interesting and helpful. When The Mechasm's attacked, Yuki and her mother tried to save library, but it was too late. Eliatropes created a spaceship called the Zinit, and Yuki's parents took her and her sister there. They and other eliatropes escaped the Mechasms and searced a new home
After the eliatropes found the new home, Yuki and her parents with sister tried to start a new life in The World of Twelve, to forget about this horrible accident, to restore a library. When The Mechasm's attacked the eliatropes again, Yuki's parents used all of their wakfu power to protect their children, but they died from the Mechasms. Akita tried to protect her little sister, and took her to other kids, to send her to the dimension Emrub. But Yuki didn't want to go with other children and stayed to protect her sisters and other. Unfortunately, she and her sister Akita couldn't resist the Mechasms and they died in the battle.
Years passed, the eliatrope's history and culture dissapeared, were erased. And maybe Akita and Yuki's dofus would be lost in the World of Twelve until one enutrof named Emily found this dofus and brought to her home. Emily thought that she could sell this unusual dofus and get more kamas, but when Akita was reborn, Emily was astonished. She wanted to get rid of this "little lizzard", as Emily called this baby dragon, but she didn't do it. Emily thought that this dragon can be useful and she kept Akita and dofus in her house. Years later, Akita grew up a little and Yuki was reborn. Emily was surprised of how children born from dofus, unusual dofus. She wanted to ask Akita how it works, what kind of magic it is, but Akita didn't want to tell everything about her race, and kept it as a secret.
14 years passed, Yuki and Akita grew up. Over those years, Emily got used to them, and even loved them as her own children. One day, Yuki wanted to go on journey to find her parents and to know everything about herself. At first time, Emily didn't want to let them go because it's too dangerous. But then, she let them go knowing that maybe it will be better for them to find themselves and their family.
On their journey there'll be many enemies that they need to resist, but they'll also find friends that will help Yuki and Akita.
Abillities: as all eliatropes, Yuki uses her portals to teleport and creating powerful ray. She also uses wakfu energy to create her weapon spear.
That's all for now. If you have questions or found mistakes in story, you're welcome.
Art by @jenny626 and @jenniesart (both me).
Yuki belongs to me.
Eliatrope belongs to Ankama.
