I posted about this on the twits, but I'm gonna do it here too because it's not like this is limited to that platform.

Since I've been seeing my least favorite shitty FF7 rumor around again, friendly reminder that there are no "legal issues" between Gackt and SE delaying anything. Sources claiming otherwise say "trust me bro" when Nomura has literally said it was just the workload.

People who claim that delays in production of anything in the Compilation are because of Gackt are parroting a rumor that's been around for over a decade, which was started by people who used it as an excuse to be racist and homophobic under the thin veneer of frustrated criticism. The majority of hatred toward the character of Genesis Rhapsodos in early fandom, and hatred toward Genesis in modern day fandom from OG Purists, stems from this same place.

Why do you think these people always assert that Genesis' very existence "ruins Sephiroth's character," but never complain about Angeal? Why do you think they have no problems with Aerith having a Jenova-infused Angeal Copy in her church for years—something that should totally change her understanding of the Crisis, but doesn't seem to in any way whatsoever—and yet anything and everything Genesis does is treated as an unforgivable retcon?

It's an excuse to say heinous, horrible things about an all-but-explicitly queer character who is modeled off a real Japanese man, and that's all it ever was, but it gets a pass because they dress it up as criticism of the franchise. Then, when they inevitably start throwing out slurs, nobody cares because "it's just Gackt—I mean Genesis, everyone knows he sucks."

Yeah, you "know" because you let a bunch of bigots tell you he should be judged more harshly than any other character in the entire series because he's not white or straight enough. Because he's based directly on a real flesh-and-blood Japanese man, and to these people that makes him deserving of hate, because people like that shouldn't exist. Because the character is all but explicitly queer (and it is even more explicit in the original language and when accounting for some key culturally-specific literary references portrayed throughout the narrative), and people like that shouldn't exist.

You "know" because you never questioned why this character specifically is the only one it's "objectively and morally correct" to hate and belittle, even though everything he's supposedly hated for applies to multiple other characters throughout the series.

The character is loathed, and the actor is blamed for everything, because some old guard fans said that's how it's supposed to be in this fandom, and if you don't engage with things that way then you don't deserve to be here.

Very cool and normal behavior!

There are very valid reasons to dislike this character, mind you, and plenty of reasons to be critical of the actor. I'm not saying otherwise. I'm saying the pervasive and frankly disgusting fandom-wide hatred stems from the same place as the continued, repeatedly disproven assertion that Gackt is to blame for everything "wrong" with the Compilation and its development: bigotry. I know this because I saw these assertions come into being in real time when Crisis Core first came out. I watched the people saying these things post the most homophobic rants on their personal accounts, I watched people I considered friends get banned from LJ communities for referring to Genesis as Gackt and referring to Gackt with racial slurs.

And I watched them come back later, promising they were better people now, armed with new claims and new arguments that allowed them to continue to be hateful trashfires without getting in trouble. As long as they weren't overt, it was okay. If they slipped up and used a slur in the comments that was mostly okay, since it wasn't in the main post. Mods might lock a thread here and there, but those people got to stay. Their "criticism" was "valid," and thus their bigotry was validated.

Those same claims and complaints are still regurgitated today, only now it's by people who aren't racist and aren't homophobic, but don't realize that their criticism is horribly unbalanced because it was all born from people who were just masking hatred.

Even worse is when these behaviors are mimicked by people claiming to like the character, because the fandom taught them that this was how you're supposed to engage with him, because it's just Gackt—Genesis (I said Genesis!) so he's a piece of shit no matter how you slice it and he deserves to be treated that way. Nobody else does, and nobody questions it, because this is just how it's done.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell people this, but if you slap a bunch of gay stereotypes onto Genesis and then have the characters around him treat him like shit because of them, while implying or outright insisting that IT'S OKAY BECAUSE IT'S GENESIS AND HE SUCKS SO IT'S FUNNY, you are following in the footsteps of bigots. If you constantly refer to the character as "Gackt" like the name itself is a pejorative, you are following in the footsteps of bigots.

No, there is no nuance here. I don't care if you allegedly came to all these conclusions on your own—you didn't and you know it—except for the fact that actually that's worse, because it means that you did some kind of deep dive in the source material and came out the other side agreeing with a bunch of racist homophobes who are still spitting bullshit after over 15 years.

this is SO funny bc i was literally JUST talking to @wronghuntress about them like a few hours ago😭😭 BUT to answer your question,,, it's sort of complicated. bc i didn't realize that i was doing it until like a good way into the series, but i've been unintentionally picturing pretty much all of the og campers/people from the main pjo series as part of the acting side of hollywood, whereas i've been leaning more toward, like, toa/side/minor characters for the rest of the main cast! this makes sense to me because like, nico and will get their big moment in toa, and apollo's a huge character too. percy and annabeth are actors obviously, but i did give them some connections to nico - but either way, i guess i just saw all of those characters as not really having any sort of connection to nico & will (even though i'm the hugest fan of will being close with clarisse and silena and beckendorf- he was totally will's bi awakening it's canon u heard it from me)

but anyway im getting off track, i've sort of had like a completely separate plotline for them going on in my head (not really detailed at all, i'd have to think about it more), dealing with more of those og characters, including percy annabeth and grover! i'm not entirely sure if that'll ever be included in the main fic seeing as they don't have much connection to nico's storyline specifically, but who knows... maybe a spinoff fic one day? i definitely won't be able to write some long 100k fic for them but i'd love to dive into that!

the only thing that i DO see happening is - if you remember this, a while ago, i mentioned the possibility of a third fic or some future plans for nico to write a musical to get that egot, namely hadestown. while the idea was being organized in my head, i've been thinking of silena as helping nico write the musical and playing eurydice, and then ofc i'd love having beckendorf play orpheus - i think he gives the vibes?? or is that just me???

and then jenna (wronghuntress) gave me the BEAUTIFUL idea earlier today of this... silena and charlie as actors, specifically broadway/musical theater actors (though im sure they have also been in some other projects), clarisse as silena's bodyguard,,, and im usually so against love triangles but like. there's so much potential there - again, nothing's finalized, i dont even know if i'm gonna write it, i don't really have ANY plans other than potentially making nico contact silena when he wants to work on his musical and having them + beckendorf work together for the demo recording - it's all VERY vague and blurry so we'll see if i come up with anything more to fall down that rabbit hole!

and as for luke, i pretty much have this: he's an actor, at some point he was prob friends with annabeth after working on a show together or smth, and ends up getting cancelled. for what? i'm not entirely sure yet, but it's probably very shitty for the internet to turn against a hot white guy. actually that fact might make him getting cancelled very unrealistic. but like it's my fic so that's what i'm saying happens! unfortunately he prob still gets roles and he's prob still like a millionaire and stuff but in general: bad person. though he probably (and thalia, because she used to be an actress too before running away) were in a movie/show/something with annabeth when she was young and they kinda mentored her/helped her learn the ropes before her big break. they started a club of neglected child actors which eventually turned into just annabeth, but at least she has percy and reyna and jason and piper and magnus on her side now :)

so long story short: i don't have specific plans, but they're all actors and definitely have a lot of lore that one day i would like to try to figure out!! for now i'm still very focused on tgol/the side stories that take place in THAT main timeline (so right now it'd be 2020-2024), whereas all of the main drama/plot in the actors' timeline would be happening BEFORE talk your talk (percy + annabeth + thalia + luke + silena) (around 2008-2015) or AFTER the greatest of luxuries (silena + clarisse + beckendorf + chris(??? i have no idea what's going on with him?? he's prob famous somehow but idk??? or maybe like childhood friend tis the damn season vibe. god there are so many fame tropes i have yet to unlock and so many characters i have yet to mess with) (around 2024-2026)

When did you first start watching Lone Star? Who or what introduced you to the show?

i watched og from when it started airing in australia because it looked interesting in the trailers, and i was hooked straight away. i saw they were making a spin off and thought the premise looked really interesting, so despite my strong dislike for a certain main cast member, i gave it a go. while i haven't been engaging in the fandom the whole time, i've been watching since the first episode, weekly as it's aired in the us because i'm not going to risk spoilers waiting an extra several months to watch it as it airs here

If you could pick any character to be given a "begins" episode, who would it be and what would that episode look like?

nancy. she's the character we canonically know the least about, and i am desperate to know more. i'd love an episode where an emergency in the present day takes us through flashbacks showing her journey to the 126, why she became a paramedic, who she is outside of work, her previous relationships, her relationship with her family. whether it be from an emergency they're responding to reminding her of some past event/trauma or her being injured/in peril and reflecting on her life up until that point.

What is a scenario or storyline that you would like to see in season 5?

i'm really interested to see why there's a bts photo with nancy in a capt. gillian name tag on her uniform and explore how nancy being chosen as (i'm assuming temporary/acting) captain and that change in leadership structure affects dynamics in the firehouse, her relationship with tk both personally and professionally, her relationship with mateo and how he handles the change in dynamic in the work place, and all the other dynamics and interpersonal relationship changes within the firehouse as a result of it, and how the dynamics would be affected by pressumably introducing another new paramedic to take her spot while she's filling tommy's. i just think it would be really interesting, and also really interesting to see why tommy isn't the captain, is she stepping down temporarily for family reasons, is she suspended, is she injured, is she being promoted? so many possibilities to explore.

im doing two answers because i'd also really love to see (though 99% sure it wouldn't happen in a short season especially) a holiday episode, there are so many holidays towards the end of the year, not just Christmas and an episode featuring the different ways that different members of the 126 celebrate their respective holidays and each other's holidays could be a really lovely episode, especially with some of the cheesier christmas emergencies we've seen covered on og sprinkled into that, as holidays are always going to be a busy time for first responders.

What do you think is going on in this still?

given tk's posture, i think it's a call that they were apprehensively expecting/waiting on, maybe for news about an ongoing investigation (either into gabriel's death or something that won't be introduced until the new season)

probably somewhere local/within texas, it's not anywhere specific in my mind because my knowledge of united states geography is minimal, but i feel like even if they'd had plans to travel further they would have changed to stay closer to home given the circumstances leading up to the wedding.

i'm shouting out more than one, you can't stop me firstly, i always knew you'd find your way by @fallout-mars which is a masterpiece of writing and a really great outsider (nancy) pov of tarlos' relationship, love love love love this fic next, soulmates aren't just lovers by @nancys-braids this is such a beautiful (canon divergent) look at nancy and carlos' pasts and their friendship, i do not have enough words to convey just how much i adore this fic and how it's written and finally, the ring in by @welcometololaland which is one of the first tarlos fics i ever read, back in 2022 before i had a ls tumblr, it's such a fun read, cannot reccomend it more highly, i absolutely adore this fic.

So I saw your flowerfell post and it's actually true, it was ruined by shippers and they disrespected the creators wishes by doxxing them sending death threats and tons more, there is year old video on YouTube that talks more about it. And immediately, the creator of the video proves to be wrong. And fuck you for making me give this video a view, because it really doesn't deserve it for spreading misinformation.

The original fanfiction, "Overgrowth," was posted to Ao3 by the user SociopathicArchangel, which you can find an archive of here. In before you suggest that SociopathicArchangel was a reposter of the fic, I want to point out that looking for their username on Ao3 brings up a shocking and alarming amount of people crediting them for the Flowerfell Fanfic. This is a bit too much of a coincidence for SociopathicArchangel to be a reposter, especially since Archangel doesn't have an Ao3 anymore.

Also, this video reading the fanfic credits Sociopathicarchangel. So you know.

The content creator who made this video refers to Sociopathicarchangel as... I think it's spelled, Lividicus??? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm assuming Archangel changed their username. I'll be referring to them as Socipathicarchangel or Archangel for this ask though.

Disregarding that, if you are to look at the Archive.org link of Overgrowth--the original fanfiction was tagged as Frisk/Sans, or Frans. So yeah the argument falls apart when you actually look at fandom history. Flowerfell was a Frans AU. Whether or not the original creator intended it to be and their friend Archangel took it out of context is kind of moot point--the main explosion of the AU came from the fanfic made by Archangel, thus meaning the AU was a Frans AU. Or at least, gained traction from the fic which gave the assumption that it was a Frans AU.

This is important to note because the framework of this video is already severely flawed. So I'm not looking forward to seeing the rest of this hot garbage.

Oh I love how they didn't credit the actual composer of Secret Garden. They just showed a Fan PV on screen. Nice!!! They don't even say the composer's name for credit! Love (See: Hate) to see it.

About the kinning: I vaguely remember this drama when it started, and how the creator of Flowerfell was very Anti-kin. Which is. Uh. We see that as a shitty thing now, right? I know that having someone kin """Your""" character (Sans nor Frisk was never their characters to begin with) might seem a bit uncomfortable at first but like. Man, just leave fiction kins alone. They get so much shit for everything.

The evidence provided to prove that Kins were sending the creator hate for not making their Headcanons canon--I mean. Where's the evidence for that. Please show that. No? Okay...

I have absolutely no idea what the hell the OC stuff is about. People stole the og creator's OCs to use in their own stuff? Would love some context and evidence for that. But this video shows no evidence of these things what so ever. Ugh.

Pointing out the actual context here--this snippit? It's talking about Toriel. Toriel, who had gone mad from seeing children before Frisk disobeying her and dying.

This is not saying Frisk is a child. This is saying Toriel has gone mad from seeing children before them die to the hands of other monsters.

Not really important, but this is just an example of why the content creator who made this video just. Is not to be trusted. They used this as "proof" Frisk was a child in the original Fic. Which is not the case.

And again. This video, as I'm going through it, is giving no evidence over anything that happened. Absolutely nothing. Go figure.

Also, listening to the clip that the content creator put in their video--I heard that. I heard that little flub. "An--asks we would get" I don't know, sounds like they were going to say antis there--as in, Anti-shippers maybe Hmmm. That is speculation, granted, but still. Worth noting it.

But also, now I have to go listen to the whole audio clip because it sure sounds like this wasn't a "poor Creator of Flowerfell was a victim in this uwu" but it sounds like Sane (I think is how you spell their name) became bitter, vindictive, and started fighting with people about their AU.

Like yeah, that's going to end well.

Anyway, onto the audio clip.

A lot of this is testimony so far. (And again, calling Frisk a child, that's not canon, I am Screaming) I don't think these people understand what fiction kinning a character means, because they are basically being Anti-kin right now. I don't know if there were actually any kins disrespecting the creators by saying they knew the characters better than they did, or if they were just saying "Hey!!! I am Flowerfell Frisk!!!!!" And these people took it the wrong way. I need references--aka, evidence that Kins actually were being disrespectful little shits, or shut up. Please for the love of god does anyone have any evidence. I am Begging.

Also the misconception that Sane owned Flowerfell because they created the AU is absurd. Please, for the love of god, if you make an AU of a canon franchise, unless you like, get super special privileges from the creators themselves, or are licensed to produce that content--you do not own that property. I am screaming into my hands. I am Tired.

I listened to the rest of the audio clip after that note because I knew it was going to be a very emotional audio clip. However, for as much as I feel for Psi (the person who recorded this audio) being stuck in the situation they were in... No, Shippers were never the main issue.

Here's what I think happened, after listening in and going over everything:

Flowerfell was created. Overgrowth was created. It got very popular as a Frans AU because it was tagged as a Frans AU on Ao3. Maybe some Fans got upset at the original creator because the Ao3 fic was tagged as the ship and the AU was not the ship, thus making them feel lied to, but from the sound of the audio clip it seems like the shippers and anti shippers were actually not that big of a problem. (Which is a surprise to me--antis are the ones who basically erased what actually happened from fandom history, like the content creator you referenced. They screamed "Anti" to me in that video at least) Even the thieves stealing and reposting art and the fanfic didn't seem to be the main issue here.

The biggest problem came about from Sane's paranoia of someone stealing their ideas and getting into arguments with fictionkins, and getting backlash from being frankly from what I can remember, very anti-fictionkin. And judging from the way Psi phrased things in this audio clip--yeah, I can easily imagine they were being extremely anti-fictionkin and that probably pissed a bunch of people off. And that, in turn, made them spiteful, which made Sane more bitter and spiteful because they didn't know how to deal with such a huge audience and a huge amount of backlash.

Either way, no, it was not the Frans Shippers that "ruined the AU." What ruined the AU was the fact that the main creator, Sane, didn't know how to handle such a large fanbase that was given to them overnight. They didn't know how to react or behave when fans were making them uncomfortable or being inappropriate. They were encouraged by peers to be spiteful and angry and only grew more bitter and paranoid because of it. As they became a worse and worse person, more fans started getting angry too, and wanting to take the AU for themselves since the creator was being a bad person for how they were treating their fans.

The AU wasn't ruined by the Frans shippers. It was ruined by Sane themselves--and by the people who were encouraging Sane's bitterness and paranoia. The only person who could ruin a creation is the creator themselves, after all. I'm pretty sure even Psi acknowledged that in their audio clip at the end--that it was all up to Sane.

So enough with the "Frans Shippers Ruined Flowerfell" Shit because that is not what happened from what little evidence I've seen/gathered. If you got actual proof that is the case, be my guest! But nothing concrete has been present to me thus far.

It was so exciting to watch them announce the players that got into their national teams

Laughed at Ted not knowing Bumbercatch is swiss

Appreciated the whole team being there for Sam when he was snubbed

When it cut from the title sequence to ted sitting down with rebecca for biscuits with the boss i really thought it was for real gonna be an OG one but then they panned to trent and i was disappointed but i couldnt even be mad because it was so funny

That whole scene was an absolute delight, filled my heart with joy, the England kit! the E for U swap! the tie dye shirt with Roy colors! One thing I can say about this season is that things do tend to go great when Jamie is involved

I laughed at the doomed handshake at Sam's restaurant, he was so resigned to his fate 😅

Nate breaking into his parents house in the middle of the night because he felt lonely and lost reminded me of 13 Going on 30

I really liked Rebecca being insecure about the meeting because she knows she's only been invited as a token. It felt true to life and also reminded me of a favorite moment from a beloved show of my past, The Good Wife, where a character expresses a similar concern and gets much the same advice as Higgins gave

I really thought Rebecca was taller than Higgins' office door and was momentarily scared she was going to bump her head on the way out 😆

I liked Keeley and Mae's conversation, though I, much like Keeley, did not understand the lightning saying 😅 did appreciated the little "Maybe" joke though, it felt like something Ted would do and I always love to perceive them mirroring each other

Everyone noticing Roy's cheerful t-shirt was very funny

I loved that we saw Rebecca studying for the meeting

The fact that Rebecca has panic attacks is something that can be SO PERSONAL that meant so so SO much to me, I could cry just thinking about it, I've always been sure she did and to have it confirmed was a thrill, and so emotional and satisfying to me to see her self soothe and how it paralleled Ted, truly beautiful gorgeous amazing

Ms Bowen is blonde now! Idk why but that was exciting, I like her! I think Roy should introduce her to Beard, I feel like she could beat up Jane. It was also hilarious to me that they named her Leann for real 🤣 they have no shame!

Barbara's Juicy couture tracksuit and "I like clothes that tell the truth" LMAOOO COMEDY GOLD

Barbara and Keeley's snow globe exchange was delightful. Barbara slowly grew on me throughout the season and was a true highlight in this particular episode, I was very glad that she chose Keeley.

I love that Rebecca went to that meeting in a bbp top and one of her less murderous earrings

I appreciated seeing Rebecca in a professional setting, taking a stand, and going to bat for the club and for football in general, it's something I have always longed to see from her and I'm glad I got it even if it was late in the game

Really liked that Nate plays the violin

I liked the window into Rupert and Rebecca's past and the glimpse into why they were in love once

I liked the contents of Roy's letter to Keeley and thought it was funny that she couldn’t read his handwriting

It was exciting to see Rebecca at Keeley's house! She demanded a hug! She's going to fund Keeley's firm! Their friendship has stayed beautifully consistent throughout the season and I appreciate that.

Keeley writing down the number and saying "This is how they do it in the movies" was another Ted-like moment (down to Rebecca being endeared by it!)

I enjoyed the joke of Roy walking in when he did and I loved loved loved that he and Rebecca saluted each other again! I'd been waiting for that!!

I think Nate's apology to Will - how he did it, the score, the note with the sprig of lavender, how it was filmed - felt like such a season 1 moment that it filled me up with this sense of right-ness and I truly appreciated it. Possibly one of the best moments of the season 🥹

Rebecca looked so at peace hanging that painting and also SO beautiful in that dress

Ted sat down without being invited, and Rebecca scooched a little closer once he did 🥹🥹

She specifically wanted to tell him about this big emotional milestone and Ted looked? I have no idea how to describe it, but it was new, it was a face he's never made before, and it was so?? I don't even know, I don't know what to do with it, or with "I wanna win for us too."

Aaaand that's it! I liked a lot of the bits and pieces of this episode as you can see, and I had a mostly good time while watching it. I’m kind of a hippy my friend, even though I don’t do drugs. I have foresee dreams, no matter u believe or not.

Let’s say, the Frankfurt game, I dreamed about Jo, and an OG. I immediately know first of all, it’s not gonna be good. Second, I KNEW Jo was gonna goal. It came out exactly what I thought in the end. It’s just like when I moved to another city on the day against Leverkusen and I saw a truck has a bright sign of “Leon” on it and rushed by and I knew it’s a sign.

When I’m too confident, usually it’s not gonna be good (Like Saarbrücken and Frankfurt I’m sorry, I even told you I can’t wait to see them kill before Frankfurt game, my fault, and that’s the only time I ever said something before a game.) . When I’m not confident, it may came out well.

And there’s something I just KNOW, like I know BVB gonna help us again Leverkusen. Like I know Bochum gonna help us on BVB (And Ruhr Derby will always give them a hard time). I even knew Gladbach will not always have that luck to win us. Like I know BVB it’s just not good at dealing with Bayern. Some of them are just common sense to me.

The only thing I’m not sure about is just ref and the weather, they are unpredictable to me. When I saw the game with Stuttgart without Leon and Jo, I immediately took out my wine and start drinking lol. It’s a technique called ‘prepare to celebrate like you will do at the end’. It’s very MAD to drink at 1:30 pm, but I know I have to do it. (btw I did the same thing on Bayern ManU 4-3 game. Cuz I knew it was close.)

And I can’t say anything before the game end too. That’s why this will be send at the end of this game lol. Don’t have to believe my methods at all but…I have my way.

I’m a big believer in that you regardless of whether or not you can do drugs, you still can be a hippie at heart :) that’s honestly cool as hell that your dreams can foreshadow real events.

Any time Jo, our beloved agent of chaos, and an own goal appear together in a dream, it’s never a good sign 😵 that’s wild that the real game unfolded exactly the way it did in your dream too, omg!! And I still remember your ask about seeing “Leon” on the truck before the Leverkusen game; we couldn’t have asked for a better sign than that!

It’s interesting that even when it comes to dreams and predictions, overconfidence is to be avoided. You don’t have to apologize for the Frankfurt game though; at the end of the day, that was pure Bayern clownery, and I don’t think even you could’ve saved them 😭 the whole thing seems like a delicate balance in a way; if you’re overconfident, reality sends you crashing back to earth, but if you’re not confident enough, the future will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I trust you. Any help we can get in catching up to Leverkusen could be enough to turn the tables. And I have faith that Leon’s two ex-clubs can help us out against BVB. When it comes to Der Klassikers, I almost feel like we have a psychological advantage; I have the utmost respect for BVB as a competitor, but sometimes I think they get in their own way when they face us. They don’t give themselves enough credit.

I feel like the ref and the weather are always unpredictable, no matter how good your foresight. And let’s face it, a game without Leon and Jo is as good an excuse to start drinking as any! And I love that technique 😂 besides, when it comes to drinking, my family and I take a page out of Jimmy Buffett’s book: it’s five o’clock somewhere lmao. Sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures!

I love that you’ve learned from your experiences with the Frankfurt result and now send everything after the game hahaha. And for what it’s worth, I trust you! We need all the prior knowledge we can get honestly 💜

Lara Croft, my childhood hero

Lara Croft is a special character to me growing up. Tomb Raider Anniversary was the first game I ever played on PlayStation 2 back in 2007 and I was 6 years old. It was the first time I saw a female protagonist in a videogame and I looked up to her and wanted to become her. Then Angelina Jolie entered the picture with the live-action movies and that made my love for the character to reach new levels. She is my role model.

Then in 2013 I got the Tomb Raider Trilogy (Anniversary, Legend, Underworld) and I had the time of my life, I still play the trilogy to this day.

She is the embodiment of femme fatale. She is smart, ambitious, determined to achieve her goals, sassy, strong, sexy and just right down badass. I don't know why these traits made her a sex object, to be honest. Maybe when the character was introduced players and probably men just paid attention to her boobs and ass rather than just seeing a strong female character that can kick some ass. I hope you grew up a bit boys because, come on. Stop thinking with your dick it's fucking annoying.

The reboot didn't bother me as much as other people did because it was a new adventure and the origin story about how Lara Croft became the character we all know and love. Do I miss the old Lara? Yes of course but I would never curse the reboot. I will if they decide to keep her the way she is now.

The only problem I have with the reboot is how they took away her dual pistols, yes we had our moment with them when we killed Mathias but that was just fan service. I don't know why the bow and arrow became the default weapon so I'm praying that will change with the new games.

Also, a lot of people say in the reboot she just kills like there is no tomorrow and that just makes me laugh because she always killed the bad guys. You people seem to have forgotten Legend, Underworld and the first games. She kills or lures people into traps. Stop being crybabies for a sec and use your fucking brain to think.

Now this picture has caused a lot of problems among the fans. They say she looks like a man and honestly I don't see that. The only thing they took away are her lips. A bit of redesign is needed, I'm not gonna lie. If they want us to call this version Lara Croft but overall it's not a bad design. I still see Lara Croft and something tells me that this version will be closer to the OG version agewise and mentality-wise. I'm excited. I hope they don't fuck up the story though by going woke. And please bring back her lips.

And now I'm diving into the Netflix series, I'm excited about the series but that design is a no-no, a lot of people call it "Butch lesbian" or whatever that means and I hope they changed it fast because, as I said, Lara Croft is not a butch lesbian, she a femme fatale. So let's keep that in mind Netflix. Even the 2013 reboot was closer to the original design than the other two games.

And I'm gonna say it, I don't want them to make her a lesbian. I just don't, her sexuality shouldn't be the thing we grab on like moths to a flame but I don't want to make her a lesbian. I don't care if I get hate for this, you have your opinion, I have mine. I hope the writers and the audience leave her sexuality alone because that's not what Lara Croft is. She is an adventurer, a survivor, a femme fatale and a woman that takes shit from no one. Those are the characteristics we should focus on and not her sexuality.

Also I see that nowadays that's all what people care about in characters and you people can fuck off. If making your sexuality your whole personality is your thing and for some reason you want to push that to everyone and everything then stay the fuck away from people because you are being an annoying asshole. And everyone around you sees you that way so allow me to say it to you because they won't.

I really miss the gymnastic stuff we were doing in the old games, it was fun rolling and doing acrobatics so I hope they finally bring this back and the Croft Manor level! OH I LOVED THE CROFT MANOR!!! I was role-playing while playing. Like Lara had a routine before leaving for a mission and so on. And I have missed changing outfits. Legend has won in that department for me. Actually, Tomb Raider Legend is at the top of my list of favourite video games. I just love it!

I hope the next gen of Tomb Raider games brings us back the Lara Croft we all know and love and grew up with and were inspired by.

One day we will get our Lara Croft back.

Hey just wanna ask. I read a clerith claiming that the Jail scene dialogue from OG is the ultimate Clerith scene ever because Cloud chose to flirt with Tifa with aerith in front of her. Enough to put her off. Uh I'm still currently replaying OG on my 2nd run but sources stating "there's obvious mutual attraction" going on with them? Makes my stomach churn for some reason probably because I'm kind of pissed off of Soldier Cloud being this way. Why did SE gotta do Tifa like that and put them together in one jail cell only for her to get hurt like that?? Wtf?

I swear to God if they don't make up a CLOSURE on why he's supposedly "attracted" "mutual attraction" to aerith, flirting with her saying wtvr in OG (Im not thinking of what's canon, the act itself exist it shows a perspective) I'm never going to forgive SE.

Im tired of them making Tifa out to be the second choice, or an aftermath after (she's always been the first choice wtf!? Where are all these shitty "he liked A more but settled with T" coming from??). She wasn't like Aerith who openly flirted with cloud because ignorance is a bliss. She liked Cloud the most but held back the most for obvious reasons out of worry, and they be letting cloud hurt her like that?? Wtf?? Tifa doesn't deserve that! She deserves so much more.

HELL NO WAY, I'm not gonna accept that True Cloud had a tinge of romantic interest / infatuation in aerith, that thing be better related to Zack or his Soldier Persona's needs (a fantasy that needs to be reciprocated to exist).

Plus if it was so important, wtf take away that scene all together? Why make cloud like he couldn't care less about aerith after saving her in remake (Barret doesn't even say stuff about him caring so much for A unlike in OG)? Even though a part of me sees this whole charade as a red herring, it pisses me off to my core that it's hardly given closure.

Ugh if they didn't just wanted to make sure people would be saddened by her death, they wouldn't need to put Tifa in the back burner for a huge chunk of the first parts because she gonna die early then. I'm so glad they've focused more on Tifa early on and you sure as hell would count on me to pray that her date would be the only one we'd be gettin on rebirth.

PS I just want to see Tifa happy, without the feelings of inadequacy. That she's the only one True Cloud ever loved and was attracted for. Otherwise, people will think again she's some martyr when her promise and moments literally gets NTR'd by aerith who took advantage of cloud to reminisce about Zack. I swear Tifa's a saint for caring about aerith in OG when the latter treated her really awfully. Ugh, she better be the enlightened version in remake because I sure as hell don't forgive OG aerith for causing her such sadness and pain (ngl A's pretty spoiled compared to what the others have gone through, I'm kinda pissed because most of the time she doesn't even deserve it).

Also, Claudia's line where city girls might be a source of temptation and distraction made me think of Jessie and aerith. Wherein he'd be needing Tifa, the mature one to balance him out.

Sorry, got pretty pissed. the only reason I'm tolerating and trying to understand Cloud here is because I love Tifa. And because I love her, I do really want to Like him too. Damn I feel like a combination of Marle and Brian.

It's okay, they're dumb and deluded. Also, that jail cell scene doesn't exist in remake so they're clinging to something Nojima removed because it didn't fit how the characters and plot were set out.

Fun fact: Toriyama wrote all of Aerith's scenes with Cloud in Midgar, so all annoying nonsense is his fanfiction at work since Nojima literally took it all out 🤣

They bring this up every few months because they think there was flirting and they love that mistranslation they throw around because to them "peevish/complicated" means jealousy and that there's something between Cloud and some chick he literally just met when he's been pining for Tifa since he was nine.

Basically it's about Tifa's feelings of insecurity and that as much as she likes Cloud, she feels like he's out of her league. It doesn't really have anything to do with Aerith, it could be any girl making her feel inadequate, but she feels out of sorts because she considers Aerith a friend and doesn't know how to resolve these conflicting emotions.

Never mind the devs put Cloud and Tifa in the same cell together, but sure, there's totally a moment happening elsewhere. If that was true, why is he with Tifa? That's basically saying the devs are assholes who wanna make Tifa miserable for kicks.

Yeah, I doubt it. Nomura said this in '97 that Tifa's the canon route and Aerith is the extra for players who wanna. With Remake they're not even entertaining that shit and having Cloud all over Tifa like the game is M rated and they'll be banging any second 🤭

Pac-Personalities (+ some other factoids)

I had talked about some of my personalities for the characters before on my DA, but I really wanted to share them here too, especially since I had tweaked them a little bit since the last time.

Also for images I'm just gonna reuse the most recent digital pictures I've made of the characters because lazy lol.

The Pac Worlders:

Pac (Pac-Man): Pac is a very cheerful and extroverted kind of guy. He’s also got a tendency to come off as snarky and smug, especially when he’s confronting an opponent. He’s very well known for having a huge appetite, and at times can get a bit greedy for food. Pac is not only very determined to stop Betrayus’ attacks on Pac City, but also to find out the whereabouts of his parents. He tends to get a bit caught up in these things, and sometimes leaves his friends behind in his pursuits, but he really cares about them. At first, Pac’s pretty afraid of ghosts due to not really encountering many in his lifetime. So when he meets the Ghost Gang, you can only imagine how freaked out he was. After befriending them though, his fear of ghosts settled down. Pac has a bit of a frenemies relationship with Blinky, and they often fight over how they want things to be done, though the anger is mostly on Blinky’s side (Also in this universe he isn't the last of his kind, in fact yellow pac people are quite common, it's just that he comes from some special bloodline. Like I think I had planned that his dad was the OG Pac-Man).

Cylindria: Cyli is a friendly and pretty smart person. She’s also seen as like this super cool girl, mainly due to her looks and how she does things. Like how she’s as fast as lightning on skates, or how she can control a hoverboard with ease. Getting along with Cyli is usually pretty easy, but she does have slight trust issues with people she doesn’t know. In fact, she used to be very skeptical of the Ghost Gang when they first met, but similarly to Pac, grew to trust them. She’s particularly pretty close with Inky (and Pinky too to an extent).

Spiral: Spiral is Pac’s best friend, and ever since they met he’s always stood by his side. He’s an upbeat and active kind of guy, finding the most enjoyment in sports. Spiral has a natural ability to spin around super fast as an attacking method (so basically like a Beyblade lol), even being able to hover if he goes fast enough. Spiral is loyal to all his friends, from supporting them all the way to standing up for them against bullies and evil monsters. Spiral’s also made pretty good pals with Clyde, who often expresses great interest in playing games with Spiral.

The Ghost Gang:

Blinky: Blinky is the self-proclaimed leader (and also the oldest) of the Ghost Gang (which he also named). He’s rough, tough, unruly, and a huge hothead. He’s quite the prickly ghost, but many think that he has a soft spot somewhere. He’s the older brother of Clyde, and even though he doesn’t always publicly show it, Blinky loves him to bits. Blinky is also very stubborn and never likes to admit defeat, and so even when he’s very clearly losing in something, he keeps trying to come out on top. Before the Ghost Gang became full on allies with Pac and his friends, Blinky used to be very antagonistic towards them. At the time, he still saw them as enemies. When the Ghost Gang did team up with them, Blinky still had a bit of a grudge against them, but over time he grew to like them. Blinky is a fire ghost, meaning he has fire powers and can swim in lava (He also has a nickname for Pac, “Munchy”).

Pinky: Pinky is the youngest member of the Ghost Gang. She’s girly and bubbly on the surface, but she’s more than just cute. Pinky has one heck of an attitude, and is a very headstrong kind of ghost, even being a little pushy at times. If she’s provoked in any way, she’ll be quick to fight back, no matter who or what it was that set her off (friends are usually an exception). Pinky has a not-so-subtle crush on Pac, and often tries to impress him every chance she gets. Pinky is a speedy ghost, giving her the power to go super fast. She also leaves a bright pink trail when she moves fast (kinda like the Powerpuff Girls).

Inky: Inky is the second oldest and also the “second in command” in the Ghost Gang. Inky’s very shy around new people, and when meeting new folks, he tends to be quiet. When you get to know him a little better though, he becomes more comfortable talking, and is actually a pretty friendly guy. He’s Blinky’s right hand man, always being there for him and the others when they need him most. Don’t let his bashfulness fool you though, because he’s much braver and smarter than he looks. Similarly to Blinky, Inky was also a little hesitant to get to know Pac and the others, though he wasn’t near as aggressive about it as Blinky. Inky is a goopy ghost, meaning he can attack, make things, and even clone himself with goop, or in his case, ink. Water and he don’t mix though, he melts in that stuff (And yes he’s wearing eyeliner. Yes he made it droopy like that on purpose. No I don’t know whether he’s an emo or a goth lol).

Clyde: Clyde is well…Clyde! He’s calm and carefree, and he has a huge heart. He’s the younger brother of Blinky, but the middle child in his family. Clyde cares a lot for his friends and family, especially Blinky. He also seems to tolerate Blinky’s angry outbursts more that some others, and sometimes gives Blinky a big hug to try and make him feel better. Clyde isn’t exactly known for being the smartest of the gang, however. He’s not completely stupid, but he does have a lot of dumbo moments. He’s also very easily distracted, and somewhat of a coward. Clyde is a bubbly ghost, meaning he can create fizzy bubbles from his trail and his hands. He can also create large durable bubbles to trap things in.

I also like to imagine that sometimes the Ghost Gang have little group huddles when they're about to do something big, and then at the end they do the thing where they put their hands in the middle and then raise them up. Like Blinky says "1", Pinky "2", Inky "3", and Clyde usually says "4" but also says something random. And then they all just go "Ghost Gang!" or something lol

I might get around to doing some additional characters some other time, but these are the personalities I had for the main characters of my little Pac-universe!

RATING EVERY BEYBLADE DRAGON

IT'S APPRECIATE A DRAGON DAY AND OF COURSE, I AM ALWAYS APPRECIATING DRAGONS BUT TODAY I'M GONNA DO IT EVEN MORE! and well. beyblade sure does have many dragons! so i looked through em all (or atleast, as many as i have good pics of) and i am going to rate All Of Them. i'm also gonna be rating these out of 5 stars because i'm really bad at rating things out of 10

unfortunately, because i cannot find any high quality pictures of many bit chip-exclusive designs, some of them will not be mentioned. trust me i wish i had pics of em all

dragoon/seiryu: the azure dragon, the absolute og. i mean not THE original but i don't have any good images of ultimate dragoon or whatever it's called's bit chip. 5/5 it's fucking seiryu

cyber dragoon: i've literally been insane about the digital sacred beasts plotline for MONTHS now. not quiiiite five stars but almost.

dark dragoon: i only ever got halfway through the movie i'm gonna be real. nothing Bad about this one but if i want a seiryu recolor i'd definitely go for cyber dragoon instead, 3 stars

gaia dragoon/koryu: this is probably the closest bsb has to an average western dragon, not too much of note although the colors.. do not look very threatening to be honest. 3 stars, gets one taken off because i swear i had a render of it and i'm genuinely pretty bummed i couldn't find it

dark gaia dragoon: as i said before i never finished the movie so i have no idea how this thing is in that. looks sick as fuck in the concept art though, 5/5 stars

amphilyon/amphisbaena: yeah so for some fucking reason this is the only sacred beast besides the main 5 to have a name other than that of its corresponding bey. not sure what's up with that but honestly this thing looked way cooler when we saw it in season 1 than it is in full color. 3 and a half stars, i'd put it at 2 and a half but giancarlo is neat

DRAGOON VARIANT LIGHTNING ROUND

ice: it sure is dragoon and it sure is ice. not much of note here, 3 stars master: i'm not fond of any of the master variants but this is probably the second best one behind master draciel. 1 and a half stars spark: if the fact that i went and drew it once didn't tip you off i think this one goes fucking hard. 5 stars, wish we saw it in the anime death: i don't have anything to say other than yeah that's sick. 8/10 rock: it barely resembles seiryu but it DOES remind me of dire miralis from monster hunter so that's a plus, 3 stars metal: is it me or do the metal variants look slightly fucked up. i'm gonna be real i kind of wish these designs were used for the digital sacred beasts though ig that defeats the point of those being copies. anyway gonna give this one 3 and a half stars knight: this thing looks so generic it's insane i would see this in a set of fantasy-themed stock art. zero stars it's not even fucking blue kids: weird little freak. 2.5 stars

that completes bakuten shoot, leading into metal fight. i know almost none of these and if i missed any, it's because i'm mainly going off the ones listed in @mach-speed-spin's post on dragon beyblades.

L-drago: like the ONLY cool creature design i saw in mfb before i dropped it. 4/5 i don't care if it's evil i think it's Neat

orochi: this is just a skylander you can't trick me. it would make a damn good one though, 2.5 stars

leviathan: yeah this one goes pretty hard. 4 stars

i'm gonna be real mfb didn't have a lot in the first place but i hit the image limit so dragooon (three Os) and behemoth aren't here sorry to any fans of those

finally is burst, which i keep hearing has too many dragons, and to that i say fuck you there's no such thing as too many dragons. for the record because of how many variations some of these have across the seasons i'm only gonna be rating their original designs.

wyvern: that's a wyvern alright! 4/5

quetzalcoatl: i wasn't sure whether to count this one as a dragon but wikipedia says quetzalcoatl is a dragon so i'll take their word on this. 2 out of 5, it's fine i guess.

longinus: banger design but i would punt lui without hesitation given the opportunity. goes from a 5/5 to a 3/5 because of that.

fafnir: almost a pretty solid dragon design but idk man the beak is really throwing me off here. 2.5 stars.

bahamut: oh this is ABSOLUTELY a banger, and associated with a character who deserved more screentime. 5/5

kukulcan: another one that's apparently a dragon according to wikipedia. kurt's actual character is neat but his design made me go "wait this guy looks kinda like ghasem" and his avatar made me go "wait this looks kinda like quetzalcoatl". 2.5 stars

salamander: the only dragon introduced in cho-z and honestly i don't even have anything to say here just look at it. that thing's fucking awesome, 5 and a half stars

dragon: that's a dragon babe! 5/5

diabolos: this thing looks like it wouldn't be out of place in a hot sauce ad. decent design but the pattern on it's front kinda throws me off, solid 3 stars

genesis: I'VE HEARD THIS THING IS A DRAGON ENOUGH THAT I GUESS IT GOES HERE BUT LOOKING AT IT I'M NOT SO SURE ABOUT THAT. THAT'S A FUCKED UP MAN. 1.5 stars, i don't know yugioh much but this thing looks like it would probably be pretty at home there

apocalypse: it doesn't really feel like what i'd expect an apocalypse dragon to look like which holds it back, but i do prefer it over genesis. 3.5 stars

My opinions on the GMMTV 2023 lineup!!! this is gonna be a long one :')

My initial thought was: lawd so many slapstick comedies, so few intriguing storylines.

At first I was thinking that GMMTV's business strategy seems to be non-existent; I would've expected them to see the success of KinnPorsche and Be On Cloud (regardless of what you think of the company, there's no denying the financial results they've managed with the success of KP) and aim for that direction. HOWEVER... I realise that I actually have no idea how GMMTV is perceived domestically, so my perspective is wildly biased as an international fan with no access to Thai sources and communities. I didn't watch other than the BL trailers because I know I'm not gonna watch the others anyway. But those seemed to be largely.... not my cup of tea.

So my thoughts on individual trailers (I haven't watched all of them, just the ones where the involved actors interested me)...

Hidden Agenda: Is this 2gether 3.0? Doesn't seem to have too much of a deeper storyline driving it, so I'm probably not gonna be watching; feels like I've seen it 100 times before already.

Last Twilight: So.. the story is a young guy from a somewhat shady background needs to get a job that pays well, decides to take the gig of caretaker of a man who got disabled in an accident. The disabled man chooses the delinquent even though the latter isn't really qualified, but the disabled man enjoys that the caretaker doesn't pity him for being disabled. They develop a close bond with one another.

Dangerous Romance: pls someone's gotta tell GMMTV to reconsider the English titles for their shows. Imagine going like "hi my favorite show is Dangerous Romance" with your whole chest 😭 Nah fam.

However, this looks fairly interesting. I'm going to pretend it's not set in a High School and that it means they're like babies, because I like Chimon and I am so excited for Perth. He is such a good actor, so I'm happy they gave him a show that seems to have more of a storyline (considering GMMTV). It looks like they have pretty good chemistry too. But also, the scene where they're fighting in the rain at the end reminded me of the OG mock trailer for 2gether which amused me heheh. Going to be excited to see the real trailer later to see if it stays with the same mood.

A Boss and a Babe: the way I cringed thru this entire thing. Looks super slapstick and not my cup of tea. Yikes.

Cooking Crush: ..... OFFGUN????? I have been blessed. Gun could make a 10 episode show of him staring into a wall and I would still be watching it religiously. I will be watching because it's OffGun and usually their chemistry makes everything worthwhile, and also I saw someone saying Gun himself had requested to do a RomCom with Off and I choose to believe that because that is very wholesome, 10/10.

Only Friends: ok I've mentally been calling this OnlyFriends (as in OnlyFans) and honestly isn't that lowkey accurate? The trailer for this flips my pancakes, waters my crops and hydrates my skin. It looks incredibly messy and the director said it's "Britney Spears toxic level" so sign me upppp. Some of the sets look like the same as YinWar used for their Concert trailer (the kitchen where Khaotung and Neo argues and the bathroom where First and Khao cuts each other's hair) and the fact that it isn't an actual show was my villain origin story, so I'm just gonna. Mentally insert YinWar in this show and live my best life.

I'm seeing people saying that some are complaining that it looks toxic and they're mad about it, etc etc but... I mean... this is what I was expecting to see more of, and I'm honestly kind of curious to see just how spicy GMMTV will dare to be. I'm not expecting a literary masterpiece storytelling wise, but the characters have potential to carry a good story anyways.

Our Skyy 2: YESSSS EARTHMIX MY INCREDIBLY MARRIED BABIES. Can't believe this is the only thing they've got lined up for next year, but I guess they're too busy taking care of their 64 cats which is fair.

Will be watching the EarthMix, FirstKhaotung and PondPhuwin episodes, I think!!!

ok last thought: did someone kidnap Neo's grandma and hold her hostage for a ransom, what bills does he gotta pay to have to be in literally every show 😂 poor boi can't have had much time to sleep (and yet not a single one where he's paired with Louis, the AUDACITY)

TL;DR: I'm excited for Only Friends and Dangerous Romance, and will watch Cooking Crush because of OffGun only. Also, I'm excited for Never Let Me Go and Moonlight Chicken from the 2022 lineup so hopefully those two will air soon as well!!

okay SO speak now is literally my favorite taylor album ever so to say this rerelease was so anticipated for me is an understatement and i have mixed feelings but most of them are super good!!

also all of my notes are below the cut because this is gonna be long

my first note: the enunciation in taylor’s version makes my heart SOAR because although i will forever still love the og (not enough to stream), it’s amazing how actually hearing the words more clearly makes the song 10x better???

and now i’ll go into better than revenge bc let’s be so for real that was probably the most anticipated song for everyone— but, i don’t hate the lyric change. it’s very folklore of her which does take away the vibes of speak now, but i understand her reasoning for wanting to change it. i think i’ve listened to btrtv enough times though to fully accept and appreciate the lyric so maybe that’s why i’m so okay with it.

onto the main thing i felt was lacking throughout the entirety of the album— that feminine rage and teenage angst. that’s one of the reasons why speak now is one of my favorite albums as a whole, and i feel like because taylor grew up and has a different mindset towards everything that had happened at that point in her life, she wasn’t feeling as vengeful and you could tell when she was singing.

i still absolutely love all of the songs and the production is also very different but also gives that same feel so i appreciate that as well, but again, i think because taylor matured with not only her writing but her feelings it feels as though the anger is lacking.

(i also want to say that i saw some theories about how j*** m****’s team had written emails towards taylor regarding the songs when speak now was first released and that’s why she told people not to attack him, and if i’m going by that then it would make sense that songs such as haunted sound more frustrated and helpless than angry)

NDY AU (9)

*Wow. Going back to the OG! Well OG adjacent since this is part of the little au I wrote but it doesn't matter. We're here! And that is another request off the books and finally done haunting my inbox!

I swear I know they are there and I had every intention of writing them sooner but time doesn't exist and suddenly a couple days turns into a couple months.*

Pairing: Peter Pan x fem|Reader

Prompt: A little bonus chapter to the end of the NDY AU I wrote forever ago. The curse is broken! (Fair warning it is a long post)

It is amazing how time can fly.

My life was about as normal as it could get considering everything. I went to school, went to work, did homework, went to bed. In between all the monotony of routine though was my single bright spot. Peter. My Peter.

Ever since we had met we had been inseparable. He had unlocked a part of me that I had never known was there. Something rebellious and wild and unashamed to be completely myself. I loved who I was when I was with him. It felt like I had been asleep for a long time and now I was finally awake.

My parents still didn’t approve of him no matter what I told them or what Peter did. They saw him as a nuisance and a terrible influence on me. I think they assumed that I would outgrow him at some point but they could not be more wrong. I loved him and if it weren’t for the fact that we had tried once and failed we would have run off together. Started a whole new life together just the two of us. It felt like forever ago.

Peter and I found ourselves now in the trailer that Peter had officially started staying in permanently after the whole mess with his dad happened. He had taken a generator and was keeping it warm and livable that way so he didn’t freeze to death in the winter. We were laying on the bed, not a strip of clothes between the two of us. I was stretched out across the covers and Peter was sitting cross legged next to me with one of his notebooks in hand.

No matter how many times we had done it since that first time on the beach I got such a thrill when we had sex now. Like it was some big forbidden thing we shouldn’t have been doing. Which was ridiculous considering how good it felt. I couldn’t sneak Peter into my house so we had taken to coming back to the trailer when we felt frisky.

As we had been laying there in the post coital glow I had spotted his notebook and asked him to draw me like one of his French girls. He didn’t understand the reference and I had to explain it was from a movie and in it the one character draws the female lead naked. He liked that idea very much. He liked it a little less when I kept singing Celine Dion and told me to lay still.

“Are you almost done?” I asked.

“Give me a minute, pet.” he said, “Perfection takes time.”

“I don’t need it to be perfect. The only people who are gonna see it are you and me.”

“It does need to be perfect because the figure that I am drawing is perfect. A perfect model and an imperfect drawing just won’t do.” he said with a smile. “Now stop wiggling. I swear I’m almost done. I’m just getting the shading right.”

I stayed still for a few more minutes before Peter declared his masterpiece done. I immediately sat up and asked to look at it. He handed me the notebook and I felt my face go hot as I looked at the picture. I knew that Peter was a good artist but I don’t think I was prepared for just how good a drawing it was. That definitely was me, naked as could be. Not a detail blurred or erased.

“I think this has to be my best portrait yet.” he leaned over, leaving a kiss on my shoulder. “What do you think?”

“It’s great. I’m actually a little shy now. It didn’t really occur to me how intently you were focused on me that entire time.”

“Hard to focus on anything else.” he turned my head to kiss me. “And now that I’ve immortalized you in graphite perhaps we can have some more fun.”

“Not likely.” I pushed him back. “We’ve been here forever and I need to get home.”

“Ugh!” he flopped back against the bed. “No. Stay here. We could both live here if we wanted. No having to run home, we can just stay in bed all day.”

“You are insatiable.” I rolled my eyes and stood up as I started searching for my clothes. “I will be back to see you tomorrow but if I don’t get home soon then my parents are going to be on my ass. So, are you going to keep pouting or are you gonna walk me home?”

“Fine. I’m coming.” Peter got out of bed too and started dressing. “Any plans for the weekend?”

“Babysitting.”

“Oh come on! Can’t you cancel? I thought you stopped taking weekend babysitting jobs.”

“I did. But Ms.Mills asked me to watch Henry. Henry is literally my only exception to my no weekends rule. Sorry.”

“Henry Mills. Stealing my girl.” Peter wrinkled his nose.

I tugged on my shoes. “Oh yes, the eleven year old is going to steal your girlfriend. The competition is fierce out here.”

“Is he still on that whole thing about all of us being characters from a fairy tale?”

“Yep. It’s been getting worse since his bio-mom came to town. I swear, the amount of times that kid has run off into things he shouldn’t be getting into is staggering. He doesn’t need a babysitter he needs a leash.” I linked my hand with Peter’s as we started the walk back into town.

“So much weird shit has been happening since she arrived.” Peter said. “I mean, Ms.Blanchard got accused of murder after being outed as a mistress. There was that fire at town hall. The sheriff died. It’s been bad. Don’t get me wrong the chaos is entertaining but it is a lot.”

“Yeah. Hopefully things will be winding down now.” I sighed. Peter saw me back to my house and kissed me goodbye before strolling back up the way he came. I went inside and had another uncomfortable dinner with my parents before absconding to the safety of my room. That was another thing, my relationship with my parents was never good but it had only been getting worse as of late. It was as if the thin veil of a functional family had been stripped away and we were left to come to a single conclusion. We couldn’t stand each other.

The idea of moving into that trailer with Peter sounded more pleasant by the hour. If it weren’t for the fact that I knew my parents would call someone on me to drag me back I may have taken him up on it.

The weekend came and I went over to watch Henry. He looked miserable poor kid. “Things not going well, buddy?” I asked.

“Not really,” he muttered. “No one believes me. I don’t know what to do to make them understand.”

I really didn’t get the whole storybook thing but I did know something about people not listening to me. My parents never listened when I tried to tell them Peter was a good guy. I could imagine Henry was feeling the same kind of frustration.

“Maybe I can help.” I told him. “You have a list of who you think who is, right? Let’s go over it again. Maybe if we can figure out who everyone is then it’ll help them understand it isn’t just a coincidence.”

“Maybe.” he said. He half-heartedly pulled out his book and a pad of paper. He started going over the ones he knew for sure. “You know, this entire time I realized I never tried figuring out who you were.” he turned to me.

“You think I’m in here too?” I asked.

“You have to be.” He said and started flipping through the stories. “I just don’t know which one. There’s not a lot of stories about teenagers in here. Tell me more about what you like to do. Who are your friends?”

“I like to read and I get good grades.” I said. “I uh…I don’t really have a whole lot of friends. I have a boyfriend though that I really love.”

“Boyfriend? Have you always had a boyfriend?”

“I don’t talk about him much. Not everyone likes him. They don’t see him as I do.”

“Who is it?”

“His name is Peter.”

“Peter…” Henry scratched his head. “Last name? Sometimes the entire name has clues.”

“Pangle. Peter Pangle.”

“Pangle? Really?”

“What?”

“What is he like? You said people don’t like him.”

“No. He’s a bit of a jerk. Immature. He likes to draw and his favorite book is Lord of the Flies. His favorite color is green. I don’t know Henry, any of this ringing any bells?”

“Immature, likes green and books about boys trapped on an island.” Peter’s eyes went wide. “And he’s your boyfriend?”

“Yes. What does this--” Henry ignored me as he started scribbling something down in his notebook. “What epiphany did you just have?”

“It’s just a hunch but I feel pretty good about it.” he showed me the page. “Your Peter is actually Peter Pan and since you are dating him then that most likely makes you Wendy Darling.”

“You think we’re Peter and Wendy?” I tried to bite back a laugh. “Doesn’t Wendy have brothers? I’m an only child.”

“Maybe the curse separated you.” Henry said. “But it makes sense. You take care of kids as a job and Wendy was taken to Neverland to be a mother figure to the Lost Boys. It makes sense.”

“Perhaps.” There was a part of me that was kind of hoping that Henry’s theory about who I was would unlock something but I could only shrug. Wendy Darling? It didn’t feel right. Peter though…he does have a lot of similar traits to Peter Pan now that I think about it. If anything this would be something entertaining to tell him about later when I saw him.

After I was done babysitting Henry I returned home and stayed up late talking to Peter over the phone. I told him about Henry’s theory and I could hear him groaning over the phone. “Peter Pan? Really?”

“Oh shush, it could have been worse. You could have been Pinocchio or something.” I told him.

“I only have one kind of wood on me.” Peter said.

“You are disgusting and a pervert. I’m going to bed now.”

“Oh come on ‘Wendy’” he teased, “Don’t hang up on me. I want to talk more.”

“Don’t call me Wendy. And I would love to stay up longer but I really am tired.” I yawned to emphasize my point. “I’ll talk to you in the morning, okay?”

“Okay. Goodnight, pet. Love you.”

“Night. Love you too.” I hit end call and rolled over to go to sleep.

The next day more chaos ensued in town. I was sitting at home, book in hand when I heard sirens going blaring down the street. What emergency was happening now? I went to ask my mom and she informed me that one of her friends in the hospital said that Henry Mills had been taken to the ER after having fallen unconscious due to some unknown factor.

“Oh god, poor Henry.” my heart went out to him. He was a good kid. I really hoped that he would come out of this alright. I decided to go check on him and went to the hospital.

It was strange seeing him laid up in bed with all the tubes and wires surrounding him. He was so still. I had always known Henry to be so full of life. This was wrong. He couldn’t die like this. He needed to live. It was so important that he lived!

I didn’t stay long. I couldn’t stay there and see him like that. I didn’t want to go home either so I decided to kick around on the beach, watch the waves lap at the shore. What I would have given for a balmy beach and warm white sand. Maybe one of these days when I finally graduated and could ditch this town.

It was as I was standing there looking out over the dreary grey of the dark ocean I felt something slam through me. It was like I had gotten hit by a wave and it left me staggering on my feet as memories slammed into my brain. An old life. My life.

My head shot up as I remembered who I was and where I had come from. I stared at the woods and started running. Peter! My Peter!

My legs kept pumping as I willed myself to go faster. I needed to find Peter. I had to!

My pace stumbled to a stop as I noticed something rushing over the forest floor and swallowing the trees in sinister purple fog. I could feel it in my bones, the way it tingled and set my hair on edge. This was magic. I braced knowing I couldn’t outrun it and instead let it encompass me. The rush of it fell over me and away as the fog dissipated and I was still standing where I had been. I was still here. Good. Hopefully that meant Peter was too.

I was rushing up the trail and saw someone barreling down the other way. “Peter!” I shouted. “Peter Pan!”

“Lost girl!” Peter ran to me and tackled me in a hug. “It’s you. It’s us! I remember!”

“I know.” I held him tight, scared to let him go. “Peter…Peter…”

“It’s alright, precious.” he pressed a kiss to my head. “We’re not going to be separated again. Never again.”

“Twenty eight years…” I felt like I couldn’t breathe. “We’ve been stuck here for twenty eight years.”

“I know. I know.” he soothed me. “But we had each other. Even that damn curse couldn’t keep us apart.”

“That it couldn’t.” Tears were leaking down my face. “Do you still remember our lives here?”

“Yes.” he wiped the tears away. “I remember you saying that you loved me.”

“Yeah…I guess I did.” I had been carefully dancing around that for decades back on Neverland. Yet a couple years stuck in a curse finally loosed the feeling from my tongue. “You said you loved me too though.”

Peter’s face went pink. “Right.” he cleared his throat. “I suppose I did.”

“Do you still feel that way or was that just the curse talking?” I asked, scared of the answer.

He softened, pulling me in for another kiss. “No precious, that was not the curse talking. I love you. I do. I swear.”

“Your word is your bond.” My face hurt from how wide I was smiling. “I know we’ve been here together this whole time but I feel like we were still miles apart.”

“Not anymore. Never again, lost girl.” Peter said. “I told you before when the curse was about to hit us that I wouldn’t let anything happen to you. It was only a matter of time until I found you.”

“And you were insufferable.”

“Yet you came around to my charms once again.”

“Somehow. How you can charm anything is a wonder.”

The smile on Peter’s face started to drop and darkness entered his eyes. “Peter? What’s wrong?”

“That fucker hurt you.” he said, his words like ice. “I’m going to go kill him.” he started walking back towards town, tugging me along.

“Who are you talking about?”

“The man this damn curse had me convinced was my father.” he growled, his grip on my hand almost painfully tight. “He hurt me. He hurt you. I’m going to kill him for that.”

“Oh…right.” I had almost forgotten about that. It seemed like a lifetime ago. How long ago was that even? It could have been years at this point but I simply couldn’t gauge when it happened. Still, the fear I had felt was real and so was the anger rushing through my veins now. “After we kill him can we return to Neverland?”

“Of course.” Peter’s smile turned cruel and calculating. “And there was one good thing about this curse, it gave us access right to the Heart of the Truest Believer.”

My heart skipped a beat as I realized he was right. “And I’m his trusted babysitter. I’m sure we could convince him to come with us. If the kid wants nothing else, it’s adventure. And what land is more perfect for that than Neverland?”

“Gods I’ve missed you.” he pulled me in again to plant a kiss on my cheek. “Come now, Lost Girl. We have a new game to play.”
