speaking of allignment charts: I truly think the phandom is chaotic good as a whole. Cause we can do amazing things like that bday livestream, we can get together and do things that are so kind like every year there's the phandom gives stuff and it's so awesome?? but at the same time we are chaotic little freaks, we will meme stuff to death, we will be SO ANNOYING and 'lol random xD' to this day. Sooo the dapg revival was clearly a strategic move by Dan and his new team to win back his old audience in preparation for the next phase of his comedy career. Which probably means it's going to be temporary just like the stereo shows. I'm not surprised but I am disappointed.

i mean... yeah? obviously? but stereo was like, a month, dapg is going a lot longer than a month. i don't think dan's just gonna fuck off forever at his first new project, but of course he's gonna hold onto the audience he's got while building his comedy career like quite frankly he should have been doing that the whole time although i totally get that he was burnt out and couldn't keep it going

i find it strange this common belief that dan (and phil for that matter) can't both enjoy making the content we most want to see And use said content to further other ventures. it's not like dan has to ONLY do dapg or else it means he hates it and is ONLY doing it to be able to easier jump ship to something else. the man can enjoy both, that is both allowed and quite frankly expected.

idk as much as i'd personally love for dnp to make gaming videos until the end of time they obviously are not going to do that. let's just be happy for dan and see what new exciting stuff he creates, and also enjoy dapg for as long as we've got it

my answer to this is kind of one long yap. also did not put a third option for no preference bc ik a lot of answers will be ill watch anything from them and whilst i get that i want to see if there is an actual preference between the two so pls pick which u like/prefer or even engage with more

I think generally I prefer long content but it is also very dependent upon what the video is about. what I am trying to get at tho is I would love to see dan and phil play some different longer game series. yes I am thinking about life is strange AGAIN but I really would like a series like that and I genuinely would not mind if the wait between videos was longer than more frequent short form videos

just my opinion tho bc obviously we have no say over the dnp games channel but I feel long form game series may be a popular move?? but at the same time people may not have the time to watch and keep up with long videos/series. in the example of life is strange I guess the actual first game is quite old now but I still see people playing it on youtube for the first time and it’s still a popular game so I don’t really think that is an issue. obviously dnp know what sorts of games and uploads get more views and engagement (not saying that that’s the most important thing about uploading but it is definitely important to consider) so that impacts what they play too. hmmm I don’t know how to phrase it so I hope it sounds alright buttttt I do wonder if long form content or just a new series would do better on the channel and bring in new viewers? there is obviously a huge nostalgia factor with dapg and there’s still the core fandom that engages but I wonder whether content length impacts any growth in new viewers?

there is clearly the issue with long form content simply taking way longer. it obviously takes longer for dnp and their editors but also for viewers to have the time to spend on a series so maybe long form is not a popular move bc of that reason

nowww this also leads to a 4th option I wanted in the poll but I took out is whether people would want dapg youtube shorts. because reallllly super short content like shorts reels tiktok whatever else is so popular atm and so many highlights or funny moment clip things exist I wonder if that is a direction dapg will go in. I know dan isn’t rly a fan of all that especially tiktok but imo some of phil’s youtube shorts on lessamazingphil are still funny I just wonder if dapg shorts will ever become a thing and not even necessarily new content just like highlights or idk outtakes of a video like the ones anthony posts from his interviews. the highlights of the vid with dan seem to have got a lot of engagement too although ik anthony is a very popular creator still and his rebranded content continues being popular so I just wonder if dapg will ever have that kinda shorts thing going on??

I also think the times they’ve used the community tab to do polls or just general discussion has been fun and it just kinda gives the channel more personality imo!

again I just wanted to yap there is like 0 seriousness in this or what dapg should post bc I do watch whatever they put out I just wonder if there will be a shift in content and if that would impact the channel overall. idk!!

i think it's great tbh like dnp are suuuuch control freaks and their need to do everything themselves couldn't have helped content production and if they trust people to do the first cuts while keeping their personal edit styles then that's a win for everyone! and the gaming videos have been amazing so far! like it feels so authentically dapg

idk if it’s just me but i feel like phil’s become a lot more comfortable and lighter in the new dapg videos. i really like seeing this side of him and i think i understand what dan means when he says phil’s personality is adorable (it really is and makes me want to eat him up 😭)

i haven’t seen anyone talking ab the new editors for dapg specifically is there a general way people feel about it? bc me personally it’s not bad but i find myself missing their very specific style a bit admittedly. also idk if they or maybe phil talked ab it but i was wondering if they pre-edit the raw footage send it off to be tightened up and then do final touches bc there’s no way they’re sending phannies uncut footage of their interactions right?

i have my worries, let's call it that. but it's too early to say or form an opinion. the sims video has unnecessary cuts. but it was Seizer's (are we dropping names? it's a public info) 1st dnp video that we know of, so again, too early to judge. Kris Edrosa edited Phil's 7 videos already, so they are more familiar with what dnp need from them.

i'm sure dnp go through edited footage and do final touches. how precise they are probably depends on how much time they have. we will see how it goes. my biggest fear is their gaming videos losing authenticity. and 2 videos are not enough data for any conclusions 😂

basically i started getting clips of their videos, edits and just tiktoks abt them randomly on my fyp, (this was when they had just announced dapg coming back)

i didn't know anything about them, i know they were huge on youtube but no one around me watched them and i don't think many people did/do on my country (peru) so

idk at first i kinda ignored the tiktoks but i couldn't scape them and they seemed funny so i just watched some recent content and then there wasn't more so i watched all the pinofs (in a yt compilation) and the entirety of the sims series. i haven't watched most of their old content and i've just been watching the new videos as they post them

it was completely accidental but there's just something about them (i'm also really confused bc there's so much lore that i don't know and references that i don't get, i have to do research every two minutes which doesn't even solve my questions half the time, i feel like i've learnt too much and also nothing)

Joint - Boyfriend best friend picks my outfits. This somehow feels very possible and dare I say likely with all the outfit based content lately and I need it so badly. That one's the main one but honestly any Jenna and Julien video concept would be great for me, I love how much I see them reflected in modern dnp who are more open about their relationship

V - Video Game; What video game do you most want to see on dapg?

There's this really cool fun game called it takes two that I think Dan and Phil would love and should do a full playthrough of idk just a thought 👀

Real answer would be a final fantasy game even though I know it's too precious to them and they wouldn't. It would be fun as someone who doesn't know much about them to experience it with them and it would surely be the sappiest video of all time. If not that, I usually love when they do video game versions of like game/quiz shows so I'll take another one of those for sure.

Sure he can enjoy doing dapg and use it for promo. I'm not suggesting he secretly hates making gaming videos, but doesn't it seem a bit suspicious how he and Phil went from barely interacting to acting coupley on camera all the time right when Dan was preparing to start promoting a new project? Obviously, if he wants to use phan to bait us, he has the right to. We deserve it, frankly. But it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

idk i just don't think we have the right to spend over a decade being like hey you two are gay as fuck for each other and then get annoyed when they use their being gay for each other for views. i feel like we're all winning here ?? they get the money and engagement and we get the content we were begging for in 2013 i honestly can't complain

I spent a couple days writing a fic, being mildly happy with it. But then I watched a dnp video, realised my writing is so bad and out of character. So I deleted it 😋🤙 how do I get better at writing and write in character??

Oh noooo ;( don’t delete !!!!! Is there a way you can get it back? I know Google docs will keep it for 30 days!!!!! Idk about the writing part, but character wise I think.... do not base your characterisation just of DAPG vids cos it will just read like a dapg vid lol (and this is coming from someone who wrote a dapg video fic sjsishwjd). In those videos they’re at their most switched on because they want to be the most entertaining they can be, cos obviously they want people to watch. You don’t want every line in your fic to be like that, like this big dramatic punch in the face, ya know? Cos then where’s the story? Not every line needs to necessarily entertaining, some just exist to move the story along. So if you’ve looked at a line you’ve written and gone that’s mundane ... that’s probably a good thing! They’re going to have normal every day conversations ya know? I think we all have Dan and Phil things that we personally remember more than other people, and that’s why everyone version reads a bit different! Ans that’s fun. So the specific like fictional version of them in your head is probably made up of personality traits that stick out to you, and those are the little things that make a fic feel more them? Like Phil just not remembering idioms, and Dan being a little sincere dude whilst also trying to remain edgy lol. Not just screamy likes dapg style. And if you think you don’t have specific traits in mind and want to learn more... I’d suggest old live shows where they’re more chill as opposed to the videos they do specifically to entertain! Sorry if this is like... nothing ! I’m bad at knowing how to word stuff !
