After he meets him the first time, Buck sees him everywhere . It’s not that he doesn’t know who Tommy Kinard is. He replaced Tommy, after all, after the other man was transferred to the 217. He’s heard all the stories of him, from other members of the 118 that have moved across the other shifts. He’s heard them from Hen and Chim, too. After the rescue that frankly, would’ve gotten them all fired had Maddie not revealed the truth, it’s like Tommy remembers what it was like to be at the 118 with Hen and Chim, what it was like to be under Bobby’s captaincy.  Buck sees him on the nights they go out to drink, sitting in the corner laughing with Chim about an old memory. Eddie sits next to him as they listen quietly, chiming in with an anecdote of their own when the opportunity presents itself, but otherwise, Eddie stays a silent line of warmth at Buck’s side as they pick at the labels on their beers. He sees him during the afternoons where they all play basketball, or baseball, or whatever they’re in the mood for that weekend. He’s included easily in the games, the way everyone is, and they have fun with it. Tommy and Eddie have the same streak of competitiveness, but Buck and Eddie have an understanding that makes them come out on top, every time. He sees him at the station sometimes, too — catching up with Bobby in civilian clothes. Bobby’s told Buck about the reasons he’d decided Tommy would be happier at the 217, but watching them catch up like they’re old friends, Buck’s not really sure he understands any of them. Hell, Buck even sees Tommy with his own best friend, laughing away with Eddie about baseball stats, sparring in the gym, and even talking about the damned helicopters. It all forms a picture that Buck struggles to truly comprehend. (Buck is not jealous that Tommy seems to take to everyone like a duck to water, and he is not jealous that he even gets on with Eddie in a seamless way that even Buck hadn’t managed to do easily.)

PSA: bi!Buck is valid whether he likes Eddie or likes Tommy. He's valid if he likes both. He's valid if he dates women. Just because some of the fans don't like Tommy, doesn't mean we should scream about not wanting bi!Buck anymore. Tommy is a temporary addition to the show, but his contribution to Buck's character development would have an everlasting impact. If Tommy helps him realize it - or if he doesn't - his character will be significant to the story in some way!

I had a dream last night that could have been a fic and I’m disappointed that it wasn’t.

It was Buck and Eddie like after the last episode after Eddie was like “this changes nothing between us” and at first, everything was fine and normal but then it became very apparent after like six months that something very much had changed between them, like Buck was still dating Tommy and Eddie was still dating Marisol and in the field they were as in sync as ever but then everywhere else there was this weird distance between them? Like they were still best friends but like fundamentally they were Buck and Eddie instead of BuckandEddie like they used to be and everyone else in the 118+ could see it and they couldn’t

And then suddenly they could see it, because Buck was at Eddie’s and something happened and he needed to change his shirt but he realized that for the first time in years, probably since Eddie got shot, Buck didn’t have anything of his at the Diaz house. A couple weeks later, Eddie was telling the 118 a story about Chris and Buck had no idea what’s going on in the story and they (Buck and Eddie) were talking about it and they realize that it’s been a while since Buck picked Chris up from school or just like had a day that was just the two of them. And then there was some gathering at Eddie’s house instead of Bobby and Athena’s, and Buck makes cookies at his loft and brings them and Maddie points it out, and Buck has a mini crisis as he realizes abruptly that he is a guest in Eddie’s house and he was looking around and the couch was new (Marisol had convinced Eddie to buy a new one) and he hadn’t even realized.

And then Eddie and Marisol and Buck and Tommy were going on a double date at Olive Garden of all places but Marisol couldn’t make it, so it was just Buck and Eddie and Tommy and it was awkward and Tommy was like “look i haven’t known you guys as long as everyone else around you but even I can tell that there is something not right here and you need to talk it out and fix it because you’re both not the same with your lives being almost completely separate, it’s like not natural for you two.”

And they start talking except it kinda devolves into grocery store fight 2.0, about Buck not being there for Chris and not being around except this time it’s kinda on both of them and it’s really no one’s fault but it’s kinda both their faults. And this argument makes its way into their work life where they’re just not as in sync in the field.

And then something happened on a call (unclear what) that wasn’t really anyone’s fault but Buck blamed himself and the current issues he’s having with Eddie, and asked Bobby to be put on B-Shift for awhile and it was just super awkward in the firehouse and Bobby was talking to Eddie and was like “I don’t know what’s going on but whatever it is you need to fix it” and Eddie was like “I dont know what’s going on either, Buck and I just aren’t the same since he started dating Tommy” and Bobby was like “maybe you need to evaluate that because that’s something that only seems to be affecting you.”

And then like a week later, Eddie and Marisol broke up, and Marisol was all “it’s because of Buck isn’t it, you love him more than me.” And Eddie did not work through that, he just went to Buck’s despite still sort of being in a fight and they got drunk on Buck’s couch and Eddie kissed Buck just kinda out of the blue and then was like “fuck I didn’t mean to do that” and left.

Buck told Tommy immediately the next time he saw him (because he learned his lesson from Taylor) and Tommy was pretty cool about it but he was also like “hey maybe you should think about that because you don’t actually seem all that upset by the fact that Eddie kissed you just that he kissed you while you’re dating me and I feel like that says something” because Tommy is a real one.

After like two weeks wherein Eddie goes to great lengths to avoid Buck outside of calls despite being on the same shift again, and Buck talking through it in therapy and with Maddie, Buck breaks up with Tommy (who again is very chill about all of it and is like “we can all still be friends just give me a little space for a while”) and then he drove to the Diaz house and Eddie saw him pulling up and met him outside and it was raining so they really should have gone inside but I digress. And Eddie was like “Buck it’s like midnight what are you doing here” and Buck was all “i broke up with Tommy because you kissed me” and Eddie was like “fuck I’m sorry I didn’t mean to do that I never meant to get in between you two” and is just sort of spiraling and Buck can’t get a word in so instead Buck kisses Eddie and Eddie is just like “Oh. So you aren’t mad.” And Buck laughed and was all “No I’m not mad I’m in love with you”

And then my neighbor’s kid started screaming and woke me up so I didn’t even get to see the ending and I’m kinda mad about it because I wanna see how everyone else reacted to all of this

just a tiny lil snippet of the bucktommy fic before I post it probably later tonight (it's basically almost done, and then I just need a title) ngl this whole fic turned out hornier than I expected but buck is just a baby bi who has his first boyfriend, and I am not immune to how hot tommy is okay 🙈 (buck and I have literally the exact same taste in men and women istg 🤣) i kinda wanted to turn it into smut but I want it posted before the episode and it turned out too long already haha

“When you’re ready.” Tommy says, his thumb tenderly brushing against where Buck’s birthmark is.

“Yeah.” Buck nods. “And when I am, I- Well, I bet you can teach me more stuff than just flying or Muay Thai.” he says half-jokingly, referencing the conversation right before their first kiss, when Buck didn’t even realize he was flirting until he thought back on it – which freaked him out, too, because how often did this happen before? Tommy just grins, all confident and charming, and leans in to press a soft but hungry kiss to Buck’s lips. Buck’s insides swirl and dance and make him feel all giddy and floaty. 

“Oh, I can teach you. I’m gonna.” he whispers, lightly pulling at Buck’s lip. Buck almost asks him to stay. Almost tries to bring Tommy closer, and thrust his hips up to make their clothed dicks collide again, wanting to feel that pressure again. He doesn’t, though. Which requires an impressive amount of self-control, if he says so himself.

So this might be an unpopular opinion (or maybe not), but as a bi woman, I would be fucking PISSED if Buck and Eddie ended up kissing or hooking up during the bachelor party.

If we're retreading old ground this season I want the 'Buck asking Taylor to move in rather than tell her he kissed someone else' plot but from Eddie’s POV.

But it's more -

- Eddie kisses another man

- Eddie realizes he liked it more than he's ever liked kissing a woman

- Already conflicted about Marisol, after being told he doesn't need to find a replacement mom for Chris, this gives him the impetus to end the relationship

- Eddie still unsure what this means for him but he is figuring himself out, going on dates with other men

- Hasn't told anyone yet, and he feels weird keeping it a secret from everyone. Including his best friend. He knows they will accept him, but he still has this fear

- One of the 118 finds out (either on accident or he tells them) (either Hen or Bobby) and they give him some advice

- Eddie is about to tell Buck but Buck interrupts because he has been having trouble with living arrangements (either can't afford to live in loft anymore or it burns down) so instead of telling Buck he's gay he tells Buck he can stay at Eddie’s until he gets on his feet again

- Season finale, Eddie is making breakfast and as he sees Chris and Buck at the breakfast table he realizes why he's been so afraid to tell Buck. Not because he thinks Buck will reject him for being gay, but because Buck might reject him for being in love with him

all i want from 9-1-1 is for one of the characters preferably chim to find out about bucks bisexuality and relationship with tommy through this:

set the scene, there’s a knock at bucks door he opens it just wearing a pair of sweats and chims at the door dropping off some wedding stuff buck agreed to help out with because maddies at work and couldn’t do it and we can hear the shower running in the background

chim: oh sorry were you about to get in the shower

buck: .. ah… yeah

*chim is about to leave when the shower turns off*

chimney then raises his eyebrow and starts grilling buck in a teasing way about the company he has over when tommy walks out dripping wet and in just towel

tommy: hey baby what did you wanna do for breakfa- oh hi howie

chimney is gobsmacked for a bit before he laughs like “hen owes me $10 now”

because while they both knew thought buck was bi before, hen definitely thought buck was trying to make eddie jealous

bonus points if/when buddie get together there’s a shot of hen getting her $10 back

sharing a vision I had yesterday: Buck arriving at the firehouse, after a night of being truly and well railed by Tommy, and joining the 118 fam at the kitchen table and wincing slightly while sitting down. cue everyone exchanging looks trying not to smirk too visibly and Eddie looking at everyone confused and then suddenly the penny drops and he just chokes on air.

so much happened this episode but I'm only gonna focus on the buck eddie and tommy of it all.

my thoughts are still all over the place but we've gotten a lot of hints on buddie and oh man do I hope that's endgame

I am really liking buck and tommy right now though

the date was so sad. buck really put his foot in it but eddie talking him through it at the end and getting him to call him was wonderful

I love these two so much and ohmygod do I hope beyond hope that they actually get together. the buddie hug had me soaring

theyre so fucking supportive of each other and its lovely to see

i loved buck's convo with maddie and eddie's with bobby

at this point I think bobby and maddie both suspect that they have feelings for each other, and i imagine hen, chimney, and athena also suspect. the boys have been so obvious and oblivious that i imagine everyone thinks theyre gonna get together

and both convos have got me really thinking that this season might end with buddie confession at the very least but maybe even buddie established for an episode or two

there are a few interviews that have been going around that have really changed my views/hopes for this season. i at first wanted bucktommy to last the whole season but after Lou's interview I'm okay with a few episodes and then them amicably ending things.

i want tommy and bucky's time together to really help buck become more comfortable with himself and for him to learn more about who is. this side of him that he wasnt entirely aware of

I really want Marisol and Eddie to end. The nun thing was hilarious but her moving in so fast just confirmed how much I don't like them.

mr eddie "overprotective papa bear" diaz would never let someone move in that quickly. you cannot get me to believe he would cuz buck hasnt moved in. besides buck the only other person i could see moving in kinda fast woulda been shannon if they had the chance to reconcile and rekindle their relationship

I honestly miss Shannon. I think besides Buck she really is the only one that seemed to click with Eddie. i think their reconciliation and rekindling couldve been a really beautiful story.

also im fully jumping on the ship that buddie is gonna be a thing by the end of season 7. the interview with lou plus the one with ryan are really making me think this will happen.

i thought they might wait for season 8 but the rollercoaster that was this episode is making me think that we'll end with buddie being official

what does this mean for bucktommy? i think tommy knows that buck is in love with eddie. the surprise he felt when buck told him he wanted his attention really shows that plus everything that happened this episode. tommy telling buck he wasnt ready had so many layers to it and i think eddie is one of them.

lou saying that tommy could been with either buck or eddie and they just went with buck also tells me that this will never be a serious relationship. im expecting them to be over two thirds the way through the season based on this interview and some kind of end of the buddie slowburn we've been going through

buddie slowburn is my favourite kind of 911 fanfic so im not even mad if the pay off actually pays off

i never thought we would get here with buddie seemingly being endgame in canon

man im so glad abc picked up this show

only complaint, need more ravi, josh, and may. i need the nash-grant plus buck family to have some serious family time.

thoughts are still all over the place. sorry for this long ass mess of a post. im not a coherent writer, cant journal for shit tbh. im gonna go read some buddie fics to settle down and i hope/pray that this actually happens

(low-key though if all three get together i dont think my heart could take it but id be very very very happy. but like it needs to be done well. no one feeling left out. the chemistry between all three of them is off the charts. i can totally see why tommy and eddie were a possible route.)

and eddie doesn’t know why. he starts making up excuses on why he won’t hang out with buck anymore. talking to buck less, partnering with someone else.

until one day marisol breaks up with eddie and he’s confused and marisol is just like “you’re in love with your best friend you idiot”. and eddie is all like omfg i am.

and then he goes to talk to buck and buck is angry because he thinks eddie is abandoning him and being homophobic and he’s yelling at eddie. and then eddie just kisses him.

and that’s the season finale probably.

He can’t think about anything but Eddie, though, keeps stealing glances and, god, Eddie is so close Buck can feel the heat from his body, but not close enough to touch, to press his shoulder into Buck’s, and it’s driving Buck a little bit crazy. He needs to be either further away or closer, he can’t decide which one he wants more.
