a totally not spoiler free rant about scream 6 bc i just saw it + my bingo card that i made, filled out as best as it could be

SO it’s probably unfair to count both “killers not all working together” and “three killers” bc the three killers in the finale were definitely together. but we get a bonus other killer that’s not with them, and they aren’t part of the grand scheme, so i feel like they can both still count

Over all I had a good time!! The gore was a completely different level this time but that’s fine by me. It was nasty but it was fun

I am upset at how Neve was treated behind the scenes BUT i am totally at peace with no Sidney in this one. Coming from a Sidney stan #1 I love her she’s my favorite character from the franchise and one of my top 10 faves of all time. But she’s at peace and uninvolved in this ordeal and I’m happy for that. she’s with mark and the kids <3 <3

I called the fake out death from the fucking trailer and we guessed the killers like <30 min into the movie. as soon as they mentioned losing a brother/son we were like “ok this is richie’s fam” i didnt expect that other boy to be in on it but also cause he was pretty unmemorable during the first watch. and that girl had the nerve to be like “bet you didnt see this coming” like babe we saw it coming an hour and fifteen minutes agooo

I love Chad and Mindy so so much. They’re my new faves along with Tara. Loved Chad a whole lot more in this one. They tried to paint him as the alpha male aggressive dudebro literal Chad but like. he’s just ready to throw down to protect the people he loves and that’s what you need in situations like this. He was on top of things this movie and i breathed the heaviest sigh of relief when they pulled the “we got a live one here!” on him

but now im worried for him in the next one bc they’re treating him like the new dewey and i dont wanna be like “well dewey survived #3″ just for them to switch it up and let him die in his third movie :|

was also worried as shit for gale like i really thought they were gonna off her next but NO thank god. also i get emotional at nearly every scream movie but the parts that had me on the verge of tears in this one were dewey’s theme music being played over gale, and her telling tara and sam “tell sidney he didn’t get me” ugh

so lemme add this one to my rankings real quick. for opening scene, worst to best, it goes...

truthfully six is the only one i would say i Did Not Like. five and two are probably tied, the other three are undeniably iconic

so that’s how everything feels right now. i have to watch the newest one a few more times to get a real feel for it but those are my initial thoughts and rankings

also idk man i just really like scream and i love everything they’ve done. i didnt watch these movies til like 7 years ago so i might not have as much nostalgia for them as some people but they’re still my absolute faves and like THE franchise for me, and obviously fave horror movies. they’re a lot of fun while still delivering some good scares and a good mystery to try and solve. but there’s nothing they could really do to make me cry “they ruined the whole franchise!” bc im always just like “lets just see where they go with this”

i mean the only thing they could do to kill the franchise is to kill sidney. but i think they know better
