Since Supercorp has a lot of similarities to Miraculous, here's them and Esme watching the show. Featuring Kara and Lena wondering how this kids' show is punching them in the gut.

At this point, it is pretty nornal for Kara and Lena to babysit Esme and watch things with her.

"Esme wants us to watch a new show. Apparently she's already seen it. She just wants to show us."

"Oh really? I'll go get a drink first." Said Lena.

Kara nodded. "Alright." She went to the living room. "Hey Esme, what show is this?"

"Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir!" Esme pointed at the screen.

"Yeah? What's it about?" Asked Kara, as she saw the intro, quite catchy.

"That girl, Marinette is a superhero called Ladybug and she's in love with Adrien! But she isn't in love with Chat Noir. But Chat Noir is actually Adrien and he's in love with Ladybug. But Adrien only sees Marinette as a friend." Esme smiles as she finishes explaining.

...

Huh?

Kara feels like she's gonna get a headache. "Wow. That's crazy. But aren't they the same person?"

Esme nods. "But they don't know that because they have to keep their identities secret!"

Well that was a direct hit.

"Oh."

Lena walked into the living room and sat next to Kara.

Esme plays the first episode.

They're a few episodes in season 1 and it was pretty normal (minus the weird bits).

"So it's a square?" Said Lena. "Good to know."

"They are so oblivious." Esme giggled. "They're kinda like you two!"

Kara and Lena choke.

Season 2 was fine.

Season 3 was fine too, well, minus Lila.

"Lila reminds me of Lex in a way." Lena mutters, she's sure Kara heard.

And Oblivio.

"Those two really are destined to be together huh? Imagine forgetting everything but still concluding that you're hopelessly in love with that one specific person." Said Lena.

It's not too far fetched in Kara's opinion, her Russian clone Red Daughter liked Lena too.

When Adrien said "I couldn't hide my identity from the girl I love" Kara had a mini breakdown in her head.

Lena felt like crying when Adrien said "I don't need any memory to know that I love that girl."

"...Did they just forget everything?"

Then, there's the finale.

"So...the world ended because of their reveal?"

"What has Adrien been doing alone before Ladybug arrived?"

"Wait, but they were already dating! Why reverse it?"

"Gabriel Agreste sucks."

Kara was reminded of that time Myx sent her back in time to try to fix her friendship with Lena because of this episode.

Ladybug: I'll fix everything, I promise.

Chat Noir, smiling softly: I know.

Kara and Lena felt that one hit really hard.

And then there was season 4. That's when things started to get real. Kara and Lena relate to both Adrien and Marinette at this point.

"Using a doll house with the laws of physics to hide the Miracle Box? Clever."

"Lena, you like that fact because you'd do something similar."

"Yeah I would."

Kara and Lena flinched when Chat Noir said "I don't like secrets."

They don't know whether to like Felix or not.

"Ladybug and Chat Noir really are stronger together!" Esme exclaimed.

"A lot of people are stronger when they're together." Said Kara. She glances at Lena, who smiles at her.

What. Just. Happened?

Kara felt like she just got punched in the face when Marinette said "Why can't I love who I want to love"

Adrien's confession to Marinette almost made Kara cry.

Lena needed to take 15 breathers during the entirety of Derision.

Ah, Felix is likable. And a mama's boy.

"Adrien isn't human?" Kara put down her plate in shock. "He's a feather?"

"Auntie Kara, you're basically a solar panel." Said Esme.

Lena laughed. "She's not wrong."

"Mean." Kara pouted. "But still, he's a feather! Isn't he allergic to feathers? Marinette's been dating a feather!"

Ah, Adrien moving to London hurt.

As much as they didn't say it, Kara and Lena both know deep down, that this kids' show is unknowingly showing the world what had happened to them, just with a bit more complications.

It ends during season 5.

"They haven't even- oh come on." Kara groaned.

"That entire show hit me like a brick." Said Lena.

Kara nodded. "Me too."

"We really had a rough road, didn't we?" Lena chuckled.

"We did. I'm just glad we're here now." Said Kara, wrapping an arm around the woman she loves most of all.

Lena smiles softly. "So am I."

"There's a movie too! Do you want to watch it?"

"There is a movie?!"

So uh this is prob gonna come off as rude. but like, I understand that Marinette has done a lot (and I mean a lot) of questionable things. But like, she’s well-meaning and always apologizes in the end once she realizes the flaw in her actions and the ppl who it has hurt??? Yes, she shouldn’t have done a lot of things that she did, but 1) when she attempted to break in to Adrien’s house (again not at all okay, but maybe if the firefighter had done his job and told her off, it wouldn’t have happened at all) she was genuinely concerned about Adrien’s safety because she didn’t know how far Lila would go yet. And when she sent the video confessing on the same day Adrien’s mother died, she acknowledged this was an awful idea (“today is the worst day to do it, Tikki!”) but Tikki had convinced her otherwise. So again, not intentionally hurtful.

I just think that if you’re gonna give Marinette a lot of flack for the mistakes she made and learned from and made up for, you could at least acknowledge the stuff Adrien has done, didn’t learn from, and didn’t make up for (sexual harassment (and assault), enabling, etc, etc.)

You’ll probably ignore this but I just wanted to throw that out there.

Honestly if you want to see blogs where Adrien's shortcomings are acknowledged than you should just search the Adrien salt tag. I do think most of the blogs are dogshit because they flanderize the worst parts of Adrien to the extreme in an obsessed desire to circle jerk about why they hate him so much, but they do feature that kind of stuff if you feel like that its a problem you have with Adrien. I could try to compromise and include this stuff, but I don't want to, mainly because that would compromise on the prompts I make focusing on Marinette.

On that note, I want to go on record and say that I made this blog because aside from my personal hatred of this character, I did as a "fuck you" to all the adrien salt blogs where there are millions of posts about how he's a sexual stalker (even though I think its complete dogshit and those blogs only came about because of Adrien's high road comment from oblivio because "OH HE DIDNT IMMEDIATELY SIDE WITH MARINETTE SO HES BAD") but never a single post about why Marinette is also a shite character.

I made this blog specifically for that reason. To make posts about Marinette and her bullshit in the same salty format people do for Adrien, though admittedly even I failed to make the characters as OOC as other salters have done. So pardon me if I didnt want to make posts about Adrien, there are enough of those already.

And to counter you post saying that Marinette is "well meaning", let me say this:

Marinette has been a creepy stalker type character since her first episode. She had a planner tracking Adrien's every move (which was then hastily retconned 4 seasons later when it was pointed out as being a planner for all her friends) and has made multiple plans to try and seduce (or woo) him without so much care for his actual input in the matter, yet cant for the life of day simply ask him out. On that note, she would often go out of her way to prevent other girls from being with him, and even though some were rat bastards like Lila, it sure as hell wasn't care for her friend that inspired her to slander Lila in front of Adrien as Ladybug, causing her to cry and run away in Volpina. It got to a point where Marinette's desire to try and romance Adrien actively fucked over other characters, such as Juleka in Reflekdoll and the boys party in Party Crasher. She didn't HAVE to break into his house in Oni-Chan as she could have called him (or ask Nino if she could call Adrien) and warned him about Lila, but no she did it her way because fuck the rules when Marinette wants Adrien.

No I do not care season 5 is out, they are only stopping it so we can have some fake reverse love square drama bullshit that will be undone by the end of the season I SWEAR ON IT.

Even putting that aside, Marinette is also just a shite hero. Aside from some moral obligation to be a hero and being smart, there's nothing about her that remotely heroic, and most times fucks things up whenever the villains even get a single brain cell since most normal akumas are morons. She relies on others to help her win fights yet can be fucked to try and trust others and make the team work beyond demanding people to be her meatshields, to the point where even her partner that she worked with for 3+ years was getting fed up with it. Yet the second she messed up and cant rely on someone to save her sorry ass from a mess up, all she can do is cry like a bitch as some villain makes off with the entire miracle box. 3 years of hero experience and she ends up crying like a bitch.

But it doesnt matter anyway because everyone loves Marinette so much that they easily forgive her alter ego despite her MAJOR FUCK UP. Everyone in the show is obsessed with Marinette and Ladybug, to the point where they are even obsessed with her getting together with the supposed boy of her dreams, EVEN HER FUCKING EX WHO SHE BASICALLY GHOSTED FOR HALF THEIR RELATIONSHIP. As Ladybug its even worse as everyone is so happy and trusting to her (minus the villains) despite the fact she failed for 3 years to catch the one dude making all the butterflies, not because she was bad, but because she didnt try tracking him down, only confronting him when the villain himself stuck out his neck and got greedy.

I could talk about other stuff I dislike about her, but im just gonna sum it up and say that she's a Mary Sue in a world where there's no main protagonist to replace. If any other character was the main hero, she would be that character in a SI fanfic that ends up overtaking the main hero with her bullshit powers. THERE I SAID IT

On that note, im not changing my mind about how I feel about Marinette despite how much EVERYONE ELSE in the fandom wants to coddle her, and if you wanted Adrien salt in a MARINETTE SALT BLOG you should just look somewhere else. Also I didn't ignore your post so there's that I suppose.

Which episodes from canon are you removing from your AU?

Well... I have 2 main lists of episodes I want to remove:

Episodes I'm pretty sure (by now) I'm going to remove: Robustus (the implications of AIs being able to be akumatized is not something I want to work on), Gigantitan, Animaestro, Chris Master, Oblivio, Gamer 2.0 (I really like the akuma dynamic but I don't want to use the same akuma again for most cases), Stormy Weather 2, Time Tagger (definitely no time travel here), Puppeteer 2, Party Crasher, Oblivio, Efemeral, Chat Blanc (I also don't want to do what if episodes. But I really like chat blanc's concept, so I'm still unsure about adding him somewhere else or not), Sole crusher, queen banana, hack-san, simpleman, dearest family, penalteam, Evolution, determination and revolution (And basically every special like NY etc)

Episodes I'm still unsure about removing or not: Copycat, Animam (I'll likely remove these 2), the pharaoh, horrificator, guitar villain, pixelator, princess fragrance, glaciator (I just hate Andre too much...), frozer, bakerix, reflekdoll, startrain, kwami buster, feast, ladybug, heart hunter and miracle queen, Mr pigeon 72, furious Fu, mega leech, guiltrip, crocoduel, glaciator 2, qilin, juro neko, and most of season 3 (except for destruction, passion, exaltation, kwamis choice and emotion)

BUT, tbh, not only those lists can change VERY much, but that also doesn't mean that I'm going to delete the whole plot of those episodes. The thing is:

1- There are many episodes that I'm going to keep the basic premise, but change most of the stuff that happens in them (for example: I plan to keep the episode "Kung food", but only the premise of "marinette's uncle gets akumatized because of a chef competition". Everything else that happens- such as Chloe being the judge- will likely change to a different plot). That means that many episodes that I plan to "remove" are just going to be given new plotlines to their basic premises. The opposite is also true- maybe there's a specific plot that happens in the episode (that isn't necessarily part of the "main plot"- or at least of what occupies most part of the episode, like the akuma) that I want to keep, BUT since the rest is either not interesting to me or simply wouldn't work in the AU, I'll just change the episode where this plotline happens (Example: though I'm removing Sole crusher, I'm not removing Zoe as a character- I'm just putting her introduction somewhere else) to other episode.

And 2- Originally, I wanted to remove as many episodes as I could so I wouldn't have to work with episodes that I considered to be "filler", that didn't have many events that progressed the narrative or the character growth. But, at this point, I've written so many stuff (and specially stuff that deviates from canon) that I honestly need to have episodes to include theses plots LOL, so I'll probably use some basic stuff of the episodes I was planning to remove (like some akumatized villains) to add these plots (and the AU is probably gonna be way bigger than I originally wanted to, lol).

Anyways, in summary, removing an episode does not mean removing a storyline (and vice versa). For every episode I want to remove, I have a list with the plots I want to keep and things that could give me new ideas (even from medias that mostly don't affect canon like the special episodes, even the PS5 game has stuff that I want to either keep or adapt lmao).

So, although those are the episodes I plan to remove at the moment, I think asking if I'm going to keep or remove a specific storyline would give a more precise answer in general.

Im about halfway through Party Crasher rn and its insane how bland Adrien is normally and how endearing he is when we get to see him hang out with his friends without him being on this pedastal by Marinette. Its not even like hes always that boring when Marinette is around or like this show cant write them being cute together because when they were hanging out as "just" friends in season 2 they were honestly pretty adorable! I also really liked them when they thought they were a couple in Oblivio, but for some reason the writers insist on writing Marinette as this bumbling fool whenever shes around him so anytime theres an opportunity for them to spend time together and develop their relationship, we need to get through this barage of bullshit hijinks where Marinette can barely get a word out and then the episode ends with a small moment where something kinda cute-kinda romantic happens but it doesnt actually affect their relationship in any meaningful way

I honestly think focusing more on Adrien would make the romance so much better because it would actually gives us reasons for Marinette to like Adrien because as it stands she really only seems to like him for shallow reasons but the show doesnt really acknowledge that? Like, they try to paint characters like Chloe and Lila as in the wrong for only liking Adrien for his looks and money but its fine for Marinette to do the same thing because idk, shes nice ig not a poorly-written caricature of the Mean Popular Girl archetype ? Granted, MLB has that False Ideal Self/True Flawed Self dichotomy-thing going on with Adrien obviously being that false ideal self in contrast to Cat Noir so you could say it kind of is calling her shallowness out but idk, this just reeks of misogyny to me

Also, before anyone accuses me of anything, I dont mind Marinette being the sole protagonist of the show while Adrien is just the love interest rather than the co-protagonist like you would think from the full title, I just think romances inherently work best when all of the people involved get an equal amount of focus and get fleshed out equally. I think if they wanted to have Marinette be the sole protagonist, it wouldve been better to focus more on female friendships (which is what actual magical girl shows tend to do anyway) and spend more time exploring the relationships between Lila and Chloe and Marinette/Ladybug. That would be a pretty interesting way to handle the theme of Persona vs Real Self with Chloe bullying Marinette but idolising Ladybug and Lila despising Ladybug but wanting to be friends with Marinette (ik that doesnt actually happen but shhhh Im trying to dream up a better version of this bad show) and you could even do something with Kagami outwardly being the type of person you would expect to be Ladybug but no actually being Ladybug and maybe even wanting a life closer to the one Marinette has

Also, to kinda bring this back around to Party Crasher, one of the things that I do apperciate about the show is how the Miracuclass feels like a big 'loose' friendgroup with smaller more close-knit 'sub' friendgroups within it. I dont exactly know what french school culture is like, but it seems like once the classes are picked, youre gonna be spending most of your time at school in the same group for several years. Its like that in germany too and since most popular media is american and about The American School Experience, I dont often get to see that dynamic portrayed in media and I appreciate that. I just wish we could have a few episodes that focus a bit more on those smaller dynamics, like Max and Kim have a pretty sweet unlikely friendship going on, the person Nathaniel texts his bad excuse to is Alyx and they have similar interests and seem happy to sit next to each other but I feel like they hardly interact, it'd be nice to flesh out Marinettes Girl Squad and some of their individual relationships a bit because aside from Rose and Juleka and Marinette and Alya I kinda feel like the only reason they hang is just that theyre all the girls in their class who dont suck ass. Also, this isnt really based on anything in canon, but I recently had a thought that Nino and Luca would probably get along well since theyre both musicians and theyre both meant to be Cool Guys, just in different ways and I like Adrien and Ninos friendship and the few times Adrien and Luka got to interact I thought they were cute and idk, ive been getting really attached to the idea of Adrien, Luka and Nino as a trio

Romance, a “How To” Guide

Because I’m always a sucker for pick-up lines. Or... Chat-up Lines, in this case, heh.

Chat Noir was stood above Parisian rooftops with his partner in heroism Ladybug. The lights of the city shone brilliantly beneath them, illuminating their conversation.

And what a shocking conversation it was, Chat mused.

“Wait, you have a crush on Adrien Agreste? Like, a real one, not just a celebrity crush?”

“Yeah,” Ladybug raised her shoulders, curling in on herself and trying to hide her embarrassment, “He’s in my class, and -- I don’t know.” She trailed off, biting her lip and gazing wistfully toward the sparkling skyline.

“A-and you came to me for help?”

“Yeah. I hope that’s not too awkward--”

“No!” Chat flinched as soon as the word left his mouth. He had answered too quickly, too excitedly. He caught Ladybug’s eyes and tried to play it off, “I’m just, uh, surpurrised that you would tell me this. We don’t usually share such personal information.”

Ladybug glanced at him, a shyness creeping into her expression, “Yeah, but we’ve been partners for a long time. It was bound to happen eventually.”

“But, if you start, um, d-dating Adrien, wouldn’t I find out who you are?”

Ladybug reeled back, “D-date him!? No! No way! I couldn’t!”

“What? Why not?”

She floundered for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse while her partner watched expectantly, “B-because! I just couldn’t! I wuh, wouldn’t even know how!”

“I’ll help.”

Ladybug froze, eyes stuck boring into Chat’s.

“Yuh, you would?”

“Sure,” He shrugged, smiling easily, “Anything for you, M’Lady.”

The heroine found her eyes narrowing at the laidback posture. Wasn’t he always claiming how in love he was with her?

“But,” she searched and searched, looking for some sign of deception, “Why?”

His smile changed at that, she noticed. It took on an odd quality, like he was in on some secret. That didn’t ease her nerves.

“Because I want to see you happy.”

She was touched, and a smile slowly graced her face as well, “Okay, whatcha got?”

“Well,” He said, in his overly grandiose manner, “Furst, you need some good chat-up lines!”

“No way.”

“But M’Lady, they’ll work! Trust me!”

“They don’t work on me.”

“Ah, but you aren’t Adrien Agreste.”

“I don’t think you’re lines would work on anyone.”

“That hurts, Bugaboo. I’ll have you know the ladies love me outside of the mask.”

“That so?”

He grinned. The expression seemed so him, like an earnest, breathless, unended expression of pure Chat-ness. She found she couldn’t look away.

“Absomewtely. So, pawlease trust me when I say Adrien Agreste will love it if mew walk up to him and start using tailor-made lines just fur him.”

Despite his own confidence, Ladybug held fast to her skepticism. And she told him as much, saying in no uncertain terms, “If this doesn’t work, I don’t know if I’ll be able to forgive you, Chat Noir.”

But, somewhere deep in her heart, seeing her partner’s unwavering confidence gave her hope.

What did she know? Maybe he had years of experience charming girls. Maybe she was the only girl it didn’t work on. Maybe she should give his advice a shot.

...

So Marinette found herself waiting for a good time to drop the line Chat gave her. He had said he didn’t trust her to come up with her own line, and she had been offended; however, she mused, she still wasn’t completely sold on the idea anyway, so maybe coming up with her own line wasn’t the best idea.

She breathed, trying to control the flustering heat that accompanied any thought of the ridiculous line. It would be so embarrassing.

And if it didn’t work, she was going to mangle that mangy cat.

But until then, she waited. She waited and watched the gorgeous boy who sat in front of her.

Then, as school ended, and everyone started leaving, she took her chance.

Waving Alya off, Marinette took even, deliberate steps, trying to psych herself up for the big moment. She looked over at Adrien. He was looking all around, probably looking for someone.

Part of her didn’t want to interrupt him, but that was quickly and brutally overcome by her desire to get to him before whoever he was looking for.

“Hey,” She said, observing with rapt attention when he turned to face her. She tried not to overthink his expression, which looked like an odd mix of so-excited-he-would-explode and so-nervous-he-could-vomit.

Considering her own temptation to just explode into vomit at that moment, she decided she could relate.

“Hey, Marinette. What’s up?” He gave her a smile that almost seemed hesitant, but she ignored that completely.

“You know,” She said instead, “I could make you a whole new outfit in, like, a week. But if you come back to my place, I could take your outfit off in, like, five seconds.”

His eyes widened, as did his smile, and Marinette’s heart nearly exploded without vomit.

Then that smile turned into a roguish grin that looked both entirely too at-home on his face and simultaneously absolutely foreign.

He took her hand in his, delicately, and she was certain he could her the thrum of her heartbeat. But he didn’t acknowledge it, instead, he brought her hand to his lips, placing a gentle kiss on her knuckles, “Why, that sounds delightful. You make me feel entirely too hot in these, anyway.”

And in an instant, the explodey-vomity feeling was gone, replaced by an empty sort of wonder that was slowly being replaced by the lovely recognition that this-was-totally-happening-oh-my-god.

Then she slowly, cautiously, moved her hand, entwining their fingers as she gave him a smile. And Adrien looked -- oddly enough -- starstruck, and she didn’t know quite how to feel about that, but she didn’t think it could possibly be a bad thing. So her breath sped up, and her heart was going even crazier, and Adrien was beaming at her like the cat that got the cream and --

Wait.

Marinette stared at those green eyes all the time, but now she noticed the hue; she stared at his lips just as often, but now noticed his smile; she dreamt about his hair, but now noticed the locks.

“Marinette?” He asked, brow furrowed, when he noticed she was no longer responding.

Her face had gone slack, she believed. She wasn’t quite sure, since she couldn’t really feel it. She didn’t see Adrien lift his free arm to her eyes, either. She didn’t really take in anything after that glorious moment.

...

Adrien was getting worried. He was certain that Marinette was Ladybug, and she had seemed so happy a second ago, and he was ecstatic that she went through with his plan.

Now they could fall in love, have eight kids, and get a dog together.

Except, she wasn’t saying anything, and now he was less sure.

Hadn’t everything gone according to plan?

“Marinette?” He asked again, more hesitantly this time. Cautiously, he looked around, making sure no one was in earshot. “Um, M’Lady?” He whispered, leaning forward.

Violently, Marinette flinched back, and Adrien flinched back, and suddenly they were out of each other’s personal space, and their hands were separated, and Adrien wasn’t quite sure what was happening until he fell backward.

Then all he felt was the cold, hard ground beneath, and the warm, soft body of Marinette on top of him. And her lips -- he felt those, too.

Harry is a very impulsive person.

That's just how he’s always been.

Well, after he lost his patience with the Dursleys, that is.

Harry doesn't think twice about something before he does it, which explains the way he often spoke in a dark tone in front of you whenever you were to talk to anyone that Harry deemed bad.

Harry is also constantly jealous.

Like, VERY jealous.

He doesn’t care that he’s the chosen one and that everyone loves him and he has a whole mountain of gold in his Gringotts bank, and that he’s a brilliant wizard that has a significant mark in history, why are you talking to Malfoy?! >:c

It’s not cute.

At all.

Especially when you two start to enter the higher years at Hogwarts. (around year 4,5,6)

And Harry’s frustrations start to peak at the most normal things.

He starts to restrict you, a lot.

And you don’t even realise it.

He’s constantly gaslighting you into thinking he has the right to tell you what’s good and what’s not.

He’s always craving your attention and doesn’t want to share it with anyone.

And when we mix the fact that you were re-incarnated and had known and loved many others before him, into the pot, Harry nearly explodes.

He’s a selfish man-slut and is willing to do anything to make you stay with him.

So if you mention any nonsense like leaving him in the future after Hogwarts to enjoy/re-live your past or something, then you best run.

Harry will not allow anything like that.

He’ll force you to stay, and he doesn’t care what he has to do to secure the future with you and him.

First, he’ll try to persuade you, He’ll use any method.

Gaslighting, blaming, pretending to be the victim, anything.

Then, he’ll use oblivio on you.

If that doesn’t work or you somehow remembered, he’ll use amortentia.

The strongest, most powerful amortentia, all of it just for you <3.

He’ll apologise when you regain your memories after oblivio or when it doesn’t work and quietly sits you down.

He’ll go and make a cup of tea to talk with you about it. Let’s hope the amortentia doesn't sneak into the tea.

Harry would have a stone-cold expression when he’s adding more than enough amortentia to your cup.

He’s not smiling, no. Why should he?

You’ve rejected him over and over this far, this is what it has come to.

He has to do this… there’s no choice.

Now, while he’s making the “safe” potion, you’d have two options: Realise that Harry is crazy and a psycho and run away, considering your bags are already packed and you still have your wand OR hear him out and see if he would change.

If you chose to stay, due to the pity you had for Harry, well-... Fuck.

Harry would set the tea down and slowly watch with snake eyes as you’d drink the tea.

He’d slowly and softly explain the situation to you, slowly creeping his hand over to yours.

When your fingers touch, instead of flinching, your fingers lean towards him due to the effect of amortentia...

Then eventually, your fingers intertwined and so, your palms came together and you held hands from across the small table.

And you were now trapped, forever in his grasp.

But if you were to have realised Harry’s psychotic love, and had run away, Oh dear…

Of course, you aren’t gonna be able to run away without making a single noise, so when harry heard a little sound he called out for you and asked if you were okay.

When he didn’t hear anything, in a panic, Harry ran into the living only to find you gone.

Harry’s a fast man, and he knows apparition, so it isn’t too hard to catch you. And when he does, he uses a spell to tie you up in place and picks up your resistant body.

He’d bring you home, but by then the spell had worn off.

He cast a spell on you, causing you to fall on the couch, a deep sleep overtaking you.

And in a flash, Harry spots your wand before he reaches out for it.

This wand had saved you many times, Harry thanks it for that, but it also stuck around the whole time you were in love with others.

Jealousy takes over so he hold it tightly and breaks it in half.

Why would you need a wand when you have him?

So since you asked for asks, thought I'd throw one out there. What do you think Adrien's personal style might be if he didn't have to wear his dad's designs or dress to his approval? Do you think dating or being closer to Marinette might influence his personal style?

Oooooh good question. I am not super knowledgeable about clothing and style but I will answer to the best of my ability!

To the surprise of no one, this is long and full of rambling.

Knowing that the only time we see him for sure wearing something he actually wants to wear is when he's transformed into Chat Noir is either highly informative or not informative at all lol. Personally I believe parts of his daily outfit are actually representative of him (the stripes on his shirt, both because they are used in his "Adrien vision" in Oblivio and because Marinette sews them onto That Hat in Chat Blanc; and also his orange sneakers because I want to believe he thinks they are very cool.) The crispy white overshirt is all Gabe though. He dresses Adrien in white too much and the vibe is icky. "Look at my flawless son, a perfect blank slate for me to design myself." Do not want.

Dating Marinette would be great for Adrien in all ways, including developing personal style because she could encourage him to try new things and she's the person he's most comfortable around, so he can be honest with her about what he likes. He would be SUPER into wearing anything she gifted him as often as possible (and being borderline obnoxious about it like "MY GIRLFRIEND MADE THIS WITH HER OWN HANDS".) I can also imagine them having cheesy private fashion show dates where he models her other designs, poses over dramatically on purpose, and makes repeated ~catwalk~ jokes, but that's just for the two of them. Professional modeling is pointless, but supporting your girlfriend and treasuring her talent is anything but!

As for exactly where I think he'd land in terms of personal style... This is all gonna veer wildly into my own aesthetic and what I want to draw him wearing BUT ANYWAY I think a wider range of color and relaxed fit are the main things, which I realize is the exact opposite of Chat Noir but listen. His clothing should provide maximum comfort and freedom. Nothing that has to be starched, ironed, or fully tailored unless he has no other choice. (Obviously he's going to wear a very nice suit to Alya's and Nino's future wedding.)

For color schemes I'm again leaning hard into my own aesthetic but I think he'd be comfortable in the colorful neutrals: olive green, burnt orange, navy blue, etc. They're fun but not so loud that he's the first person you'd pick out of a crowd, which he deserves after being in an unwanted spotlight for so long. (More hats for the same reason, esp slouchy beanies that Marinette knits for him.) He punches up the color and accessorizes more when he's going to be hanging out with friends.

Extremely specific thing that I want him to wear: satin bomber jackets with striped cuffs. Some floral accents because he asked Marinette to add her own touch. Like:

I would kill to see Marinette find out about ALL of the worst things Adrien’s done as Chat Noir.

- Threatening to quit while Paris was drowning because her and Plagg wouldn’t tell him secrets that weren’t theirs to tell.

- Adrien only pursuing her romantically after finding out she was Ladybug in “Chat Blanc” and hiding that knowledge from her (btw tHaNkS Alix for never calling him out for that or telling Marinette that happened- she’d have to find a way to do that without compromising his identity but still).

- Him being the cause of Copycat by lying to Theo about their relationship. (Especially considering the Volpina line: “I don’t put up with lies, especially when they’re about me!”)

- Pretty much the entire montage of him on ‘patrol’ at the beginning of “Lies” including being excited about a potential akuma and possibly goading Mr. Ramier into another akumatization.

- Him destroying a chimney in a fit of rage because her and Rena had a “2-person plan”

- Attacking and trying to cataclysm Scarabella ON SIGHT. (I went back and timed it, from the second he shows up on screen to the moment the Cataclysm hits her shield - 32 SECONDS. Breaking it down further it took only 25 seconds for him to activate the Cataclysm, and only 18 seconds to slam her into a wall so hard it cracked).

Attraction to Adrien would die IMMEDIATELY.

Side note, since Mr Pigeon is what interrupted Marinette and Luka’s date at the cinema, and it’s implied Chat helped goad him into that akumatization, I’m gonna go and blame Chat for ruining our would-be Lukanette kiss for that date.

HONESTLY??? (especially that Mr. Pigeon thing; you can’t tell me that there’s no correlation between Chat checking on Xavier and him getting akumatized, even if it was just Xavier going paranoid and overthinking Chat checking on him, like “AM I upset??? He seemed really worried about me so??”)

“the two-person plan” thing is also annoying because it was Rena’s idea!!!

And they either overwhelm her when he does reveal to her (”Chat Blanc”; she almost got akumatized and she’d been dating him at the time, I don’t exactly expect her to think rationally there), literally wipe her memory so she doesn’t think about anyone/anything else (”Oblivio”), or continuously delay the reveal so that all the events will be farther back in the past even if she was to learn about them.

Why Gabriel Never Needed To Be A Supervillain (With Sources)

People have talked about this before, how he could save Emile by akumatizing himself or someone else to have the power to wake her from her coma. This is hardly a new idea. What I’m gonna do is explain every reason why this works, citing the episodes/akumas that give evidence for it hypothetically working.

He can akumatize himself (The Collector)

He can choose, at least to some degree, what power he gives akumas (Catalyst)

He clearly feels powerful emotions in regards to Emile, otherwise he wouldn’t don a supervillain persona for all this time just to get her back (basically the whole series)

Akumas can persist even without Hawkmoth’s control/when he is detransformed, so he doesn’t have to worry about losing his powers (The Collector, Chat Blanc, Startrain, Simon Says)

And if he was worried about not going back to normal, he could enlist Nathalie’s help (like he already would as Hawkmoth). Have Nathalie wield the butterfly and grant him the power to wake Emile, then revoke the power when the healing is finished.

The thing that removes the effects of akumas is the Miraculous Cure, so any healing effects would remain after Gabriel was deakumatized. This is seen in pretty much every episode, when the miraculous cure returns everything to normal after the akuma is detransformed. Probably the clearest example of it is in Oblivio, where they deakumatize Alya and Nino and kiss before using the cure and getting their memories back, which allows Alya to take a picture of the kiss.

So far, nothing indicates that an akuma’s power must be inherently evil or harmful. Plenty of neutral abilities have been seen (Volpina creating illusions just like the fox miraculous, Catalyst enhancing powers, Vanisher being invisible, etc.)

There is also no indication that there is a limit to the strength of powers granted.

For example:

Copycat perfectly imitated Chat Noir’s abilities, meaning he could replicate the powers of (allegedly) one of the most powerful miraculous

Miraculer took it a step further, repeatedly using the abilities of multiple miraculous

Timetagger and Timebreaker could both travel through time

Chat Blanc caused destruction on such a wide and irreversible scale that a time-traveler had to intervene. I mean, seriously, dude destroyed the MOON! You’re gonna look at that and tell me that there’s a limit to the power Hawkmoth can grant?

So basically, there’ve been some pretty powerful villains. Healing Emile/waking her from her coma shouldn’t be too tall of an order. So why is it necessary to send out villains to get two new miraculous (and rewrite the universe in the process, though maybe he doesn’t realize that), when you could save your wife with the one you already have? Akumatize yourself! Have someone akumatize you! You already have the power to heal your comatose wife! She is sitting in your basement just begging to be woken up! There shouldn’t be any issues here! Get your head out of your ass!

The Communication issues between LadyNoir

Just hear me out okay? I know this post is very long but I do think this is important and many people need to realize this. But that's just my interpretation of things. You can either add to my points or even debunk them if you think they're bad examples for this. But I think we can all agree that both of them have serious communication problems.

I saw the trailers for Kuro Neko and I saw what people are saying about it.

Everyone's blaming Ladybug.

The Issue people tend to ignore is that this wasn't only caused by Marinette. I'm going to explain what I mean by this in this post.

To make things more clear why it's not just Marinette with communication problems I'm gonna mention Lukanette, Adrigami, and some episodes from seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Both of these relationships struggled because of communication problems. Marinette couldn't be open about her identity as Ladybug and Adrien wasn't being honest about his feelings. This made both Luka and Kagami feel like Marinette and Adrien didn't love them and didn't want to spend time with them. Instead of being honest and telling what's going on they just kept on going like that for some time. Even when breaking up they did not explain why they acted like this. They didn't even have to lie nor reveal the truth to explain it.

The same issue can be seen throughout the entire show. Instead of Ladybug telling Cat Noir how she feels about him trying to make her fall in love with him, she at first treats it like a joke and even flirts back and participates in his banter, making him think she likes it. Later on, when she realizes he's serious about it Ladybug still participates in his banter and then gets mad at him "for goofing around and flirting with her instead of focussing on the job".

What did Cat Noir do about this?

Well... He of course thought he may have a chance so he kept doing it. Then comes season 2 and things get a little rockier.

In Prime Queen Ladybug got mad at Nadja for trying to make them look like they're in love. Seeing the picture he ignored Ladybug's reaction, thinking she may love him. So of course he kept declaring his love for Ladybug.

In Glaciator Cat Noir is sad because Ladybug did not come to his surprise rooftop date thing even tho she told him she could not come because she was doing things with her friends. After that, he throws a tantrum and does not want to participate in Ladybug's plan because it hurt his feelings that she didn't come. At the end of the Episode, Cat Noir declares his love for her once again.

In Frozer Cat Noir throws a tantrum once again after being rejected by Ladybug. And guess what. He goes right back to declaring his love for her the next time he sees her.

There also was Siren in season 2. I forgot about that. Anyway, Master Fu did not allow Ladybug to tell Cat Noir about him but instead of explaining to CN why she couldn't tell him she just says she can't say. So Cat Noir feels left out and almost gives up his Miraculous. And instead of Cat Noir telling her directly how he felt he didn't admit it, only half admitted.

In season 3 there's Oblivio which I think is an important Episode when it comes to this. Once again Cat Noir ignored Ladybug's reaction and declared he will make her fall for him.

The rest of season 3 I pretty much blocked out. Anyway, during all of these times throughout seasons 1,2 and 3 Ladybug usually participated in Cat Noir's banter instead of telling him politely she didn't like his flirting.

Oh boy and then comes Season 4. This is where everything goes wrong. Ladybug pushed Cat Noir away instead of telling him about Cat Blanc and her feelings about what happened with the Guardianship etc. And Cat Noir just let this happen. Instead of talking to her that it hurt his feelings that she didn't talk to him, he kept quiet about it. When Marinette told Alya her identity she waited until after Scarabella to tell him someone knew about her identity. And when Adrien learned about Nino's and Alya's identities he didn't talk to Ladybug and ask her why they know their identities while Cat Noir and Ladybug couldn't know their identities.

In Lies (I think) Marinette forgot about her patrol with Cat Noir and instead of explaining why she missed the patrol she didn't say anything.

In Gang of Secrets Ladybug was pretty much having a mental breakdown in the cinema and instead of talking she ignored Cat Noir's offer to help.

In Glaciator 2 Ladybug got mad at Cat Noir and everyone who shipped her and Cat Noir causing him to force himself to ignore his feelings for Ladybug instead of LB talking to him and the others calmly.

In Sentibubbler Cat Noir got mad at Rena Rouge and Ladybug because of that "two-person" plan. Instead of talking to LB about it, he kept it to himself preferring to bottle up his feelings like he usually does.

I know there's definitely more episodes in s4 which show the miscommunication especially when it comes to CN feeling left out and not talking to LB about feeling left out but I think you get what I mean. Both of them struggle to communicate with each other. As seen even before that trailer there have been problems with the communication between the two of them.

⚠️SPOILER⚠️:

In the new trailer we saw Adrien give up his ring and Marinette talking about finding a new Black Cat. Then we see Cat Walker appear.

Everyone seems to be mad at LB for saying this but the issue people don't seem to realize when Cat Noir was "replaced" by Cat Walker is that Adrien willingly gave up his Miraculous. Marinette can't tell Plagg to go find his holder and force Cat Noir to take the ring back. That wouldn't work because he gave up the ring which happened because of the lack of communication on both sides. It wasn't just Ladybugs fault. Yes, Ladybug should not have treated him that way even if she's stressed because of her new role and annoyed/mad that Cat Noir won't accept her rejection but Cat Noir is also responsible for the fight between them. How was Ladybug supposed to know how Cat Noir feels if he does not tell her how he feels about the new Miraculous Holders, her Guardian role, and the fact he feels left out (and to some extent the rejection)? She could not have known because she can't look in his head.

Cat Noir is gone. She does not know who he is and she knows even if she knew who he was she couldn't just tell him to take the ring back because it would make things worse but she also knows she needs a Black Cat to balance her out. So the only thing she most likely thinks she could do at that moment is try and find a new Black Cat. I am not saying that's the only possible way. I'm saying it's what Marinette probably thought was the best she could do at that moment.

That does not mean she does not miss or want Cat Noir as a partner. They're friends. Friends fight but that does not mean they won't find a way to work things out. The issue they have right now is that neither Ladybug nor Cat Noir wants to talk to each other. If they don't talk the other won't know what's wrong. They can't look in each other's heads. If may be at least one would have tried communicating then the other would have been more willing to communicate too but because none of them were willing to communicate it ended up in this.

Both of them are valid in how they feel. Both of them are keeping secrets from each other. Ladybug isn't telling him why things are changing between the two and Cat Noir isn't telling Ladybug how he feels about everything. If they don't cooperate and tell each other about these things then it's no wonder it came to this. Both of their feelings are valid. So please don't make a war by creating Team Ladybug vs Team Chat Noir or whatever. I've seen those things go wrong. Both of their feelings are valid. Adrichat fans please do not drag Maribug down when you defend Adrichat and Maribug fans please do not drag Adrichat down when you defend Maribug. Both of their feelings are valid and it makes sense. I can understand why they'd feel that way. I can also understand why neither of them wanted to open up until now. Adrien was sheltered all of his life so he probably never had someone to talk to about things so he most likely adopted the unhealthy habit of bottling everything up. Marinette is scared of doing things wrong especially since she knows about Cat Blanc and probably also because it seems like Su-Han is breathing down her neck, when she does the slightest mistake he will take away not just her's but also Cat Noir's and every other Miraculous away. And combined with Cat Noir not accepting Ladybug's boundaries when it comes to his crush on her she probably pushed him away and snapped at him. Neither of these explanations makes better what they did but it makes sense why they did what they did. They are 14 year old children. It's to be expected of them that they have bad communication skills. And we all know Marinette has bad coping skills. Adrien does too as seen with him bottling up his emotions.

Besides, we all know these trailers oftentimes are deceiving. It might be different than we think and even if the Ladynoire argument does happen it will only be for both of their best. They're friends, they're partners. They'll work it out and their bond will be even tighter after that.

How Emilie Used The Peacock Miraculous To Create Adrien And Felix With Free Will and How It Got The Peacock Miraculous Damaged (In Theory)

Ok. Here I’ll be going over my theory on exactly how Emilie used the Peacock Miraculous to create Adrien and Felix with free will and how it got the Peacock Miraculous damaged. What I mean by creating Adrien and Felix with free will is the various steps Emilie did to create Adrien and Felix that apply to most sentimonsters and what Emilie did differently that allowed Adrien and Felix to have a bit more free will than other sentimonsters even when someone else is holding their Amok object. Adrien was able to act on his own even without orders throughout the whole Miraculous TV series despite the fact that in the episode ‘Ladybug’, Sentibug stood completely still and didn’t move at all for the brief moment that the holder of her Amok object, Ladybug, didn’t have orders for her and Felix, in the episode ‘Felix’, stole his Amok object from Gabriel’s finger despite Gabriel clearly not wanting him to. This post is inspired by @unecoccinellenoire’s fanfics Nobody’s Perfect and A Nightmare In Cerulean on archiveofourown.org. Those 2 fanfics explore her own ideas on how Adrien and Felix were created by Emilie with the Peacock Miraculous. In the latter half of this post, I’m also gonna explore how Adrien and Felix getting created is what got the Peacock Miraculous damaged. In Nobody’s Perfect, in particular, @unecoccinellenoire put in her idea that Adrien being created is what led to the Peacock Miraculous getting damaged. With that, I’m gonna go over the various steps Emilie did to create Adrien and Felix, what Emilie did differently that allowed Adrien and Felix to have more free will and how it got the Peacock Miraculous damaged.

The first step to create a sentimonster is to choose someone whose emotions you want to manifest and form into the sentimonster and then insert the Amok into an object that person has an emotional connection to. I think the people whose emotions Emilie chose to form into Adrien are the emotions of both herself and her husband Gabriel and the people whose emotions she chose to form into Felix are her sister Amelie and Amelie’s husband. That’s right. I think Adrien and Felix each had 2 Amok hosts at the same time. It was shown in the episodes ‘Sapotis’, ‘Oblivio’, ‘Felix’ and ‘Gang Of Secrets’ that Akumas are able to akumatize more than 1 person at the same time and, in the case of ‘Oblivio’, even fuse 2 people into 1 Akuma villain. So, I think Amoks would be able to do the same thing to create 1 sentimonster from 2 peoples’ emotions. Also, it would be fitting for both parents’ emotions to be used to create a child. The Amok object for Adrien and Felix would obviously be the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings. For each married couple, the Amok was probably inserted into 1 of the 2 Twin Rings while both of them was touching it. The fact that Adrien and Felix were each created from 2 peoples’ emotions at the same time is also probably what led to them having more free will. After all, 2 different people pretty much always have types of emotions that contradict as well as match the other person’s even if they’re a happily married couple. That probably gave Adrien and Felix more flexibility. Speaking of emotions…

The next step is choosing which of the peoples’ emotions you want to form into the sentimonster and then start to bring the sentimonster into existence from the magical ether. In the case of both Adrien and Felix, I think it was a combination between dedication and love. I think dedication was one of the emotions used to create Adrien and Felix because I heard that it was the emotion used to form Sentibug, a sentimonster that looked and (after being given her Amok’s object and thus granted free will) acted so much like a human, in the episode ‘Ladybug’. I think that makes sense because dedication is all about focusing on something and also because dedication strikes me as a pure aspect of willpower and willpower strikes me as the most stable, all-encompassing and most willful emotion. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that dedication and willpower are one and the same. And I think love was the other emotion used to create Adrien and Felix because I think there’s no emotion more appropriate for creating a magical child than love. After all, in the case of creating Adrien, Emilie was creating a son for herself and Gabriel and, in the case of creating Felix, Emilie was creating a son for her sister Amelie and Amelie’s husband. Another reason why I think love was involved in the process is because love strikes me as the strongest, most complex and most volatile emotion. I think those 2 emotions Emilie used, dedication and love, were a part of it. Both of those emotions are extremely powerful in their own special way. Dedication because of its stability, all-encompassing nature and willfulness. Love because of its strength, complexity and volatility. Those 2 insanely powerful emotions acting in unison to create Adrien and Felix probably caused the dedication and the love to mingle with each other just like how Master Fu’s anger and hunger mingled with each other to create the Dormant Sentimonster that was different than the one he was envisioning as revealed in the episode ‘Feast’. However, unlike Fu, who was only feeling the 2 emotions of anger and hunger, Emilie was not only feeling the 2 emotions of dedication and love. She was actively concentrating on them. That probably gave her more control over what kind of sentimonster she was creating. Also, dedication’s stability, all-encompassing nature and willfulness combined with love’s strength, complexity and volatility is probably another factor that allowed Adrien and Felix to have more free will.

However, since dedication and love are each already insanely powerful on their own, them mingling with each other was probably what bumped up against the Peacock Miraculous’s limit. As far as emotions go, dedication and love are each as flexible as flexible can be. Someone can be dedicated to something for selfish or selfless reasons or dedicated to a selfish or selfless thing and someone’s love can be selfish if they cling to it too much or selfless if they put the needs of the ones they love before their own because of their love for them. Because each of those 2 emotions are already insanely powerful and flexible on their own, it makes sense they would come together to make something even stronger than emotions. Dedication and love, when mixed together to make one single entity, could probably make a pure life force. I know that probably sounds silly because the Peacock Miraculous is only known to work with emotions. But I’ve got a metaphor to explain it. Picture emotions as the color wavelengths and a pure life force as white. When the colors combine to make white, they’re no longer a wavelength and thus no longer a color. Same goes for when dedication and love combine to make a pure life force. That’s probably why it bumped up against the Peacock Miraculous’s limit. Because channeling a pure life force is channeling something the Peacock Miraculous was not originally designed to handle since a pure life force is technically not an emotion just like how white is technically not a color in the scientific sense and even before the Amok’s ether formed into Adrien and Felix, Emilie was already channeling a pure life force that she then molded into Adrien and Felix. Which brings us to…

The final step to create a sentimonster is to mold the magical ether into the being you want it to be and voilà! The sentimonster has been brought into existence. In ‘A Nightmare In Cerulean’, Adrien was created very carefully with great attention to detail and was pretty much like a “couture” as the story put it while Felix was “a random grab-bag of Amelie and her husband’s genetics” as the story put it. Since channeling the life force had already bumped against the Peacock Miraculous’s limit, Emilie finally bringing Adrien and Felix into existence was probably what exceeded the Peacock Miraculous’s capacity and caused it to get damaged. The Peacock Miraculous getting damaged while it was creating Adrien and Felix probably also damaged Adrien’s and Felix’s links to their Amok objects thus allowing them to have more free will even while someone else is holding their Amok object. However, that doesn’t mean their links to their Amok objects was completely severed. After all, Gabriel was still able to get Adrien to follow orders in the episode ‘Mega Leech’. So, Adrien and Felix still have a semi-link to their Amok objects.

Overall, this is how I think Emilie created Adrien and Felix with free will and how it got the Peacock Miraculous damaged.

WINGLESS | Ch. 2

CH. SUMMARY: Of all the people Rena could let slip that she knows Ladybug's identity in front of . . . it had to be Chat Noir.

< < < THREE MONTHS AGO < < <

Ladybug swung from building to building, the exhilaration of a job well done fueling the fire in her veins. Traffic it would seem had resumed immediately, the sounds of wheels on pavement and cars obnoxiously honking ricocheting throughout the city’s architecture. This didn’t surprise Ladybug, seeing as the city had grown quite accustomed to akumas blocking the roads. Once the tips of her toes touched a rooftop, it wasn’t long before she was joined by another pair of boots.

“That went well,” commented Ladybug as she swiveled to face her teammate.

Rena Rouge folded her arms across her chest and popped a hip, lips puckered in a frown. “Are you kidding, girl?”

Ladybug’s face fell. No, she wasn’t kidding. She honestly had felt it went well. Was she missing something? Did a disaster strike while she was focused on her lucky charm? Had her Miraculous ladybugs not corrected all of the damage? Were there civilians hurt somewhere--

Abruptly, Rena clapped her hands on Ladybug’s shoulders and squealed, putting a halt to Ladybug’s internal meltdown. “That went amazing! We’re like a well-oiled machine, you and me. I still can’t believe I get to do superhero stuff!” At the sound of Alya’s impromptu shrieking, some pigeons nearby took flight, cooing what Ladybug imagined was a bird version of crotchety old people grumbling. Not even the least bit deterred, Rena leaned forward into Ladybug’s personal bubble, eyes wide with excitement. “But what I really can’t believe is that I’m doing it all with my best friend!”

Ladybug relaxed her posture and let out a breath she hadn’t known she was holding. But she quickly regretted it when she got a nice, big whiff of crepes, urine, and cigarette smoke. Ah, Paris. Home, sweet home. However, noticing her thoughts were veering dangerously offtrack, Ladybug shook herself mentally.

So nothing had gone wrong. Rena was just being Rena and drawing out the suspense. Ladybug patted her friend’s right hand--which was still firmly squeezing her shoulder--and smiled sweetly.

“It sure is convenient that I don’t have to hide from you anymore,” the spotted-heroine remarked. “I think half the time I took so long to get to a battle because I always had to come up with excuses.”

Rena grinned with a knowing glint in her eye. “I might be impressed if your excuses were actually good.”

Rolling her eyes, Ladybug turned away from Rena, causing Rena’s hands to fall to her sides. “Hey, you try having to come up with five hundred different reasons you have to flake on your friends and see if you fare any better.”

Rena was about to sass her best friend some more, but the words caught in her throat at the sight of Ladybug hugging herself. She recognized this stance. Ladybug’s head was in what Rena deemed the “Guilt Grotto.”

Rena stepped forward to wrap Ladybug in a warm, girl-you-better-get-your-head-out-of-the-guilt-grotto-or-I’ll-tickle-you embrace when there was movement across the rooftops in her periphery. She craned her head to the right to find the familiar silhouette of Chat Noir vaulting his way over, a goofy grin clearly plastered across his face the closer he got.

In a matter of seconds, he landed squarely beside Ladybug, startling her. Ladybug, the epitome of grace that she was, did a series of awkward hand gestures before falling back on her bum, shrieking.

Chat Noir didn’t even look a teeny bit remorseful.

“Looks like I got here just in time!” he quipped, bowing and sliding his baton back into place on his suit.

Rena held out a hand for her friend as Ladybug voiced her question: “In time for what?”

Chat bounced on the balls of his feet. “Well, for the akuma, of course! You guys were having a quick team meeting, right?”

Rena and Ladybug shared a look. So that’s what he was so happy about. Ladybug opened her mouth to reply, but Rena beat her to it.

“Actually, we already took care of the akuma.”

Chat Noir visibly deflated. His ears drooped and his belt tail started to swish back and forth. “Oh.” He turned to the edge of the rooftop and hunkered down, letting his legs kick to and fro in an attempt to get rid of some of the adrenaline.

Ladybug winced. Chat did not sound happy. Hesitantly, she sat next to him. Rena then took a seat beside her, making her the middle. “Sorry, Chat. I know you like battling akumas more than I do.”

Chat nodded before murmuring, “Thirteen.”

“Hm?” Ladybug scooted closer to him to hear him better, their legs nearly touching. She leaned to her right to get a better look at his face and tilted her head innocently. If she were Marinette then, she might have fallen off the rooftop altogether, but she was Ladybug, and Ladybug had way more poise.

Chat didn’t answer immediately. Whatever it was that he was about to say, Ladybug knew it must be something important if he, the guy who was always upfront about his feelings, found it difficult to say. The guy who told her . . .

It’s precisely when something is important that it’s important to say it.

No matter what.

Ladybug gingerly rested a hand on his arm, hoping he understood what the gesture meant. It’s okay. Take your time. I’m ready to listen.

After a few more moments of staring at his feet, Chat Noir lifted his head so his eyes bore into Ladybug’s. They creased with . . . Was that worry? Sadness? Fear?

“Thirteen,” he repeated, a bit louder. “That makes it thirteen times you and Rena have battled an akuma without me. Since Montparnasse Tower.”

Ladybug was speechless. As she stared ahead, eyes unfocused, she tried her hardest to recall all the akuma battles. It was challenging as her memory loved to fail her when she needed it most. Had he really not been in any of those battles? Had it really been thirteen times?

Had he . . . had he really been keeping count?

Ladybug didn’t know what to say, but she knew she had to say something, anything. But what could she say? Was she sorry?

No, she couldn’t be sorry that the akumas had been defeated, that the victims had been rescued, that she had been able to do so quickly because Alya had been spending a record amount of hours by her side.

She couldn’t be sorry about any of that. She was only sad that he felt sidelined.

That was not her intention.

But she knew what the solution to that was.

And she would rather die before she let Chat Blanc see the light of day.

Somehow, knowing her identity had led to him being akumatized. Somehow, whether it was in an alternate timeline or when their memories had been wiped by Oblivio, she knew that what he said at Montparnasse Tower--that to know him was to love him--was truth. And Chat Blanc had told her what their love did.

Their love destroyed the world.

Their love had killed her.

Their love broke the moon, for crying out loud.

But, most importantly, their love hurt him.

Chat Noir had told her he loved her, many times, and she had even been considering giving his pun-spurting, jokes-at-the-worst-times self a chance. But being forced into combat with her akumatized partner had violently squashed any hope she had for them, for LadyNoir as Alya coined it on her blog. Ladybug would be damned if she allowed that to happen again. And if that meant encouraging him to move on even though it broke her heart . . .

Well, it wasn’t supposed to be easy being a hero.

Ladybug had this entire conversation with herself in a matter of seconds. She was careful not to let her face expose any of her innermost feelings, instead sporting an expression of neutrality. What she ultimately decided to do was tell him the only truth she had to offer. He hated secrets and she hated lying. What a pair they made.

“I wish it could be different,” she whispered.

And oh, how she did. She desperately yearned to tell him who she was, to know who he was, to tell him about Alya and Nino and all the other people she had entrusted with a Miraculous.

She wanted him to know how she grew up, what kinds of things she did at school, how she was utterly ridiculous when it came to her rotten luck (and she tried very hard to push a certain blue-eyed blonde out of her head the moment that phrase came to mind). She was sure he would snicker at all the times she made a fool of herself in front of Adrien, of all the ways she made her own life a living hell with her clumsiness.

Or perhaps he wouldn’t laugh. Perhaps he would pat her shoulder and uplift her with words of encouragement. She didn’t know. After the stunt he pulled with the balcony of candle-lit roses, the boy was a wild card, an enigma. He was complex.

And it thrilled her.

But no matter how she felt about him, they couldn’t know each other that way.

Sighing quietly, Ladybug brought her knees up to her chest and turned away from Chat Noir. If she had been watching him when she responded, she might have seen him look longingly at her, but she didn’t.

Rena Rouge did, though.

Wanting to make her friends feel better, Rena added, “Don’t you worry your pretty kitty head about it. I’m sure all those battles would have taken way longer if we weren’t already together.”

Ladybug and Chat Noir both stiffened. Chat’s gaze flicked from Rena to his partner over and over before they finally rested on Ladybug. “Uh, what does she mean by that?”

Ladybug shot a glare in Rena’s direction, but her eyes softened when she saw that Rena genuinely appeared surprised.

He didn’t know? Rena’s eyes asked Ladybug.

He didn’t know, Ladybug’s affirmed.

One would think Rena was Lady Luck because her pendant had decided that that moment was the best time to beep, and she couldn’t agree more. Now she had an escape route from this conversation. “Welp,” she clapped her hands together, “I’m gonna go chill in that fine-lookin’ alley over there.”

Before Ladybug could agree, Rena sprang from her spot and promptly disappeared. She was a regular magician, and her latest trick was leaving Ladybug with a rabbit to put back in the hat.

Or, er--a cat back in the bag. Whatever.

“What she meant by that . . . ” Ladybug began slowly, like she was addressing a wounded animal. Which, maybe she was but just, you know, emotionally wounded.

“Yeah . . . ” prompted Chat, signalling that he was not going to drop this.

Ladybug quickly jumped to her feet and began her ritual of frantic pacing. “Look, I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while, but I didn’t know how to because I knew it would raise questions that I couldn’t answer--”

A blonde boy in white leather with somber blue eyes appeared in front of her and she dug her heels into the cement, skidding to a stop.

Chat Noir was behind Ladybug now, his voice soft and curious. “Bug?”

Ladybug was frozen in place for a few more seconds before she shook her head hard enough to give herself shaken-baby syndrome and nodded, satisfied that the aggressive head-shaking had rid her of he who shall not be named. She whipped around and started.

Chat Noir was incredibly close.

She didn’t know he had gotten this close.

Geez, his eyes were really cat-like.

He also had a really cute nose--

Ladybug, FOCUS!

Ladybug took a step back. She made it her mission to ogle his bell instead of looking into his dumb kitten eyes. “You--” she began, but Ladybug’s throat was suddenly dry. She gulped. “You know how much I hate secrets and lying. And I know how much you hate secrets and lying. So I’m not going to lie to you. But I may not be able to answer the questions I’m sure you’ll have, so please . . . ”

Ladybug grabbed one of his hands then and held it firmly between her own, pleading with every fiber of her being that this would communicate how much he meant to her even though she knew what she was about to tell him would make it seem like he didn’t mean anything.

Please forgive me, Ladybug’s heart supplied.

When he didn’t immediately take his hand back, she looked up at him. She looked into those dumb kitten eyes and knew without a shadow of a doubt--

She was a masochist.

This was going to hurt. He didn’t like when she was the only one to know Rena’s identity. He definitely wasn’t going to like that Rena knew hers. This would be so much easier if she wasn’t ogling those big, emerald green, beautiful, brazenly dumb kitten eyes.

But she was a masochist. And she needed to see them while they still held love for her.

“I told Rena Rouge who I am.”

There. She ripped off the band-aid. Straight to the point. Zero room for interpretation. After all, her worst arguments started because of her clumsy miscommunication.

Ladybug braced herself for an explosion. She had played this moment in her head a couple hundred times since exposing herself to Alya.

Yelling. There was always yelling.

Sometimes, he stomped away while doing that weird T pose where his fists didn’t connect to his hips . . . a pose she herself was guilty of, too.

Others, he chastised her about her thoughtlessness--to which she responded that she definitely thought about it long and hard that day.

Ladybug braced herself for an explosion because she was sure there was going to be one, especially after seeing him upset about her always running off to Master Fu. He hadn’t even known there was a Guardian for a while.

What she hadn’t braced herself for was the expression on his face.

Thump, thump. Thump, thump.

His head was bowed.

His eyes were closed.

A lone tear slid down his cheek.

Thump, thump. Thump, thump.

Her heart thudded against her ribcage, screaming at her to run because he wanted her Miracul--!

No! She refused to finish that thought.

Her head yelled back that he wasn’t akumatized right now, that she wasn’t back there, that she wasn’t with him. She desperately tried to shove the image from her mind. This was more than she could bear. She just--she couldn’t take it! She couldn’t take it because . . .

Because . . .

Thump, thump. Thump, thump.

Because he looked just like him.

Thump-thump. Thump-thump.

He looked like Chat Blanc.

Sorry this took so long I may have needed to make a list of every single episode of miraculous and go through each individually and even then there’s probably stuff I’m missing

Darkblade: I mean I’ve already rewritten this one into Raz’s debut guys

Timebreaker: Heavily Changed (I’m overhauling the Rabbit Miraculous and it’s plotline, this is where it starts)

Dark Cupid: Nixed or Heavily Changed (there’s an explanation for this, I swear, it involves the new version of Timebreaker)

Puppeteer: Somewhat Heavily Altered (long story short the snakes plus the presence of a third maybe fourth hero)

Antibug: Split into two parts, Vanisher and then Antibug, so gets an expansion because of that

Forgetting Enemies, Rediscovering Friends - Ch. 1

The morning had started off fine. Marinette had been working on a new design to showcase her talents. A black dress with green trim—great for any occasion.

(Only the most keen-eyed observers would find the small paw print embroidered on the inside of one of the sleeves)

Adrien was hard at work in the kitchen, as usual. Probably plotting how best to steal the Miracle Box, or make her meet the same fate as his mother or—or some other nefarious end. Yes. He must be. No one could be THAT nice, not after everything he went through. It had to be fake. 

*beep beep*

Marinette blinked. Her stomach twisted. “The Akuma Alert app? But it can’t be- unless-”

A video popped up, showing the new threat. 

“Don’t be bemused, it’s just the news! Past Pirate has made the trip from the U.S. all the way to our fair city of Paris. With Ladybug and Chat Noir still missing, we can only hope that other superheroes arrive soon, before everyone in the city forgets who they are.”

Ah.

Not an akuma or sentimonster, then. Just a random supervillain that thought the absence of Miraculous wielders made Paris an easy target. 

Somehow that didn’t make her feel better. At least if it was a sentimonster, she might’ve been able to catch Adrien in the act, prove that he was evil, and recover the lost Miraculous. This- this she could do nothing about.

She was useless.

*beep beep*

A text warning popped up, issuing an evacuation order. A giant orb had been spotted near Collège Françoise Dupont, one that looked very, very similar to the one Oblivio had threatened the city with, all those years ago.

Marinette suspected it served the same function.

She needed to get out of there, NOW.

Her parents were out at dinner on the other side of the city, so hopefully they’d be safe?

The only ones here were her and-

Oooooh crap.

Her and ADRIEN.

...He’d be fine on his own. Right? He got to work every morning after all. He could evacuate on his own. 

But his apartment had to be close by, close enough that it’d be in the evacuation order, too. He’d have to go to some public place for cover.

During a supervillain attack.

With a lot of people scared and worried and having flashbacks to what his father did.

...and with him having one of the most recognizable faces in Paris. 

Crap.

She was gonna have to take him with her, wasn’t she?

She hurried downstairs. Adrien was already putting on his coat, getting ready to run out the door. 

“Wait!”

He froze. An instant later, he turned around. “Marinette? You’ve gotta get out of here, the supervillain-”

She nodded. “I know, come with me.”

He blinked. “Are— are you sure? You don’t need to put up with me just because we’re both heading out, I can go a different direction if it’s more comfortable for you.” His voice dropped. “I know you probably have some trauma associated with what my father did and this situation isn’t helping.”

Why did Adrien have to be so unfailingly nice?! 

Marinette shook her head. “My parents would be devastated if something happened to you and I- I don’t want you hurt, either,” she got out in a rush. “I don’t want you out there alone.”

Adrien stared at her, startled. His eyes softened. “Thank you, Marinette.”

Her face heated up. “Po Noblem!” She shook her head. “I—I mean, no problem! Anyone would do it.”

He shook his head. She didn’t have time to think about that before she grabbed his hand, running out the door.

And into a purple beam blast.

Blinking rapidly, he looked around.

He appeared to be on a street… somewhere and—

A purple blast hit a few feet away from his head.

Right. Get out of here first, figure out what was going on second. Maybe he’d find someone else someplace AWAY from the scary light blasts.

He attempted to run down the street and away from whatever the purple blast thing was. 

“WAAAAH!” 

Attempt at running: failed. Attempt at finding someone else: success!

He winced. “Sorry I dragged you down. Didn’t realize I was holding your hand.”

The girl nodded, eyes wide, still on top of him where she landed. “What’s going on? Who are you?” Her breath caught. “Who am I?”

“I… have no idea.” He admitted. “I don’t remember anything before a minute ago.”

Another purple blast fired. He flinched. “I don’t think sticking around here is a good idea. Let’s get somewhere a little safer first, THEN try to figure out who we are.”

She nodded, getting up and pulling him to his feet. She didn’t let go of his hand. “This way?” she asked, pointing away from where the blast had fired from, down the street the direction he’d tried to run. 

He nodded.

They booked it, running in unison, automatically adjusting their gait to exactly match their companion’s.

After they’d gotten some distance away, they slowed down, huffing and puffing from the exertion.

“You think that’s far enough?” the girl asked. 

He shrugged. 

She started digging through her purse. He blinked, tilting his head. “What’re you looking for?”

She didn’t look up, sticking her tongue out the side of her teeth, appearing to concentrate even harder.

It was adorable.

Huh?

Well, he HAD been holding her hand when he woke up…

“This!” she said triumphantly, holding up her ID card.

He shelved his previous line of thought. For now, at least.

“Marinette Dupain-Cheng? Nice to run into you, Marinette!”

She giggled. “I enjoyed falling for you too, uh…”

His face heated up. “Let me check.”

After looking through a few of his coat pockets (one of which held some cheese. Did he normally like the gooey food that much? It didn’t look that appetizing to him right now) he at last located his own ID. “Adrien Agreste.”

“You have anything else that’s useful?” Marinette asked.

“Let’s see…”

After emptying out his pockets, he concluded he had his phone, ID, that piece of Camembert, a debit and credit card, and 70 Euros.

“Well, at least we’re not memoryless AND broke,” Marinette commented.

“What about you?” he asked.

“Well…” 

She proceeded to pull out several cookies, a sewing kit, a first aid kit, duct tape, an umbrella, a few items that he felt he should recognize that Marinette hastily stuck back in her purse, saying they weren’t relevant to this situation, and a small black box with an intricate red design on the top, as well as her phone and wallet.

Adrien looked critically at the mass of items. “I don’t think all that should be able to fit in that tiny purse.”

Marinette looked at the objects she had pulled out. Then looked at her purse. Her brow furrowed. “Yeah, I think you’re right. Especially that umbrella. Doesn’t matter how I put that in, it shouldn’t fit. Plus that box- that wasn’t there when I first started rooting through my purse, I’m sure of it!”

He tilted his head. “It wasn’t?”

“I’d shoved everything around a few times,” she explained, “trying to see to the bottom of it. The first few times I didn’t see it, though there WAS some black fabric in the way - that was the umbrella - and once I pulled the umbrella up, well, there it was, lying beneath it.”

“Anything inside it?” 

Marinette opened it.

“Nothing,” she said, disappointed. “Just two indentations where something used to be.”

Adrien peered at Marinette. “Maybe it’s the casing for your earrings?”

She startled. “My earrings?”

Reaching up a hand, she felt her ears. “Maybe? Let me see.”

Taking them off, she set them in the box. They fit perfectly.

They also looked different. 

“Spotted earrings?” he wondered. “They didn’t look like that before.”

Marinette blinked. “They didn’t?”

He shook his head. “They were black before, not red with black spots.”

“Maybe the lighting just made them look weird?” 

“Maybe…”

He looked more critically at Marinette’s ears. “Wait. Something’s weird here, too.”

“Here?”

“With your ears.”

“What’s wrong with my ears?!” she said, sounding on the edge of panic.

“Feel where the earrings were, where you took them out of.”

She shot him a puzzled look, but complied, feeling her lobe, then her entire ear. “Where were they?” she wondered. “I can’t find the holes.”

“Exactly. I can’t see them either.”

“Hold on, let me try something,” she said.

Picking up the earrings, she put them back. “Oh that is WEIRD.”

“How’d you do that?” Adrien asked. He still hadn’t seen the holes she was using, not until the earrings were in again.

“I just let my muscle memory do the talking. I wasn’t threading them through a hole or anything, I just stuck them where I felt like they should go and then— then they were there.”

“They’re back to looking black, too,” Adrien said, squinting.

“Wonder whether your earrings are the same?” Marinette said, looking at him - or rather, at his ears.

Adrien felt his ears, his fingers hitting metal. “Huh. Didn’t know I was wearing them, too. Let’s give it a try.”

He wasn’t quite as fast at removing them as she was, needing a moment to unhook and align them so they’d slide out smoothly. He held them out to her. “Did their look change?”

She shook her head. “No, they still look the same.” Looking closer at his ears, she noted, “I can see the holes left behind, too. I don’t think your earrings have the same weird properties as mine.”

“A purse that can hold more than it should, earrings that change color and leave no mark— maybe it’s magic?” Adrien wondered.

Marinette opened her mouth, looking somewhat indignant - then closed it. “I… can’t come up with a better explanation. Don’t know why I’d have some magical objects, though.”

“Maybe you’re a witch?”

“Do those even exist?”

“No idea.”

“It doesn’t feel like the right term. These are just magical objects, right?” she said. “I might not have any magical powers myself.”

“You think anything else has magical properties?” he asked.

“Let’s see…”

After messing about with the duct tape, wallet, and umbrella for awhile, they concluded that, if they had magic, they were keeping it well-concealed. Unless “closing unexpectedly” was the umbrella’s magical power. 

“Any of your things secretly magic?” she asked him. “We checked your earrings, but what about everything else?”

He tried stuffing things into his coat pockets, but they only held as much as one would expect them to. The wallets didn’t have anything special, and the only thing ‘magical’ about the cheese was how much it stank outside of its plastic baggie.

As he was putting it back in the bag (trying not to gag), he glanced at his hand, noticing a silver ring.

Figuring he might as well, he slid it off. 

Light ran over it, turning it from silver to black, with a green pawprint on its face.

“You have one, too!” Marinette cried happily.

He nodded, feeling a warmth in his core. Whatever was going on, he was the same as her. “Guess I’ve got magic, too.”

“Think they do anything except change color?” Marinette asked. 

Adrien shook the ring for a minute. “If it does, I have no idea how to activate it,” he concluded. 

“Let’s move onto our phones, then,” Marinette said, turning hers on. A lockscreen popped up.

She hesitated for a moment as Adrien winced. “That suc-”

Marinette smiled deviously. “Not so fast.” She breathed on it, showing the most common pathways her finger traveled. Swiftly she followed the path, unlocking her phone.

Adrien’s heart went pitter-patter. “Brilliant!” he told her, copying her idea and unlocking his own phone.

“I don’t have a lot of contacts,” he told her, turning it to face her. “Only four people.”

G, Chloé Bourgeois, Sabine Cheng, and Tom Dupain. That was it. “You’re not even in here,” he told Marinette. “Though I’m guessing Sabine and Tom are your parents, at least?”

She scrolled through her own contact list. It was far more extensive than his, easily over a hundred contacts. “Yeah, they are,” she said, comparing the picture for ‘Maman’ with the one Adrien used for Sabine, and the one she used for ‘Papa’ to the one he used for Tom.

“Maybe we should call them?” he suggested. “Especially since they know both of us. Maybe they can help!”

She nodded, clicking on the Call button for Maman. 

“Hello?” she asked, sounding nervous.

“Marinette? Are you okay? Is Adrien with you? I hadn’t checked my phone until just now, I had it on silent. You’ve evacuated from the bakery, right? Without Ladybug around to fix everything, who knows when everyone hit by Past Pirate will recover their memories!”

“I’m— well I’m mostly fine, Maman, I got away from the purple blasts. I’m guessing those were from Past Pirate? Adrien and I lost our memories, though. What should we do?”

“Oh. Oh NO.” Sabine sounded horrified. “That’s very, very dangerous, especially for Adrien.”

“Why is it dangerous for me?” he asked. 

“Oh, Adrien! Glad to hear from you,” Sabine said, relieved. She hesitated, appearing to choose her words carefully. “Your father—he did some very bad things. Things that people blame you for, despite having no part in them. You’re very recognizable, too. If people see you, they could react badly.”

“People blame Adrien for what his father did? That’s terrible! Why would they do that?” Marinette said, flabbergasted.

Sabine suddenly sounded very awkward. “Well, dear, sometimes people have trauma and it just latches onto innocent people, even when it’s undeserved. They’re wrong, but I wouldn’t judge them too harshly.”

Marinette still looked indignant. “That doesn’t excuse treating him badly!”

Sabine coughed. “Yes. Well. Just be careful. Maybe try to find a disguise for Adrien if you can, before wandering into public areas? Until you’re back home and this crisis is abated.”

Marinette muttered quietly, “He shouldn’t HAVE to.” More loudly, she told Sabine. “Yes, Maman. I have everything I need for that.”

Adrien could practically feel Sabine beaming through the phone. “You’re always prepared, aren’t you?”

Marinette smiled. “Hopefully I’ll see you soon, with my memory intact.”

Stowing her phone, she reached for her sewing kit. “One disguise, coming right up!”
