2015

Ahato and Marina are childhood friends, Marina was even there for her when her parents passed. Marina helped her take care of Paul when they were growing up to the point that Paul considered her a second big sister. this, of course, changed when

the two worked on music together when Ahato wasnt working (which she got increasingly busier up until she left to go to kamabo), and the melody for Chopscrewey and Crush were made by them during this time!

while Paul was a musical genius, he did struggle in school quite a bit as his creative drive often overwrote his working drive :P

the skull/octo logo is a logo they made for themselves for when they got to the surface and formed a band together

Ahato dropped out of school to work full-time to support her and Paul (which,,, isnt very uncommon for octarian families)

2017

the Kamabo sanitization program (tm) requires patients to remove strings such as shoelaces and hoodie strings from their clothing to reduce the risk of them trying to strangle themselves or each other, which is why Ahato doesnt have shoelaces

Paul didnt go to the surface until he was recruited to Sashimori, and started living with the three of them

Ahato has amnesia, she knows she had a family, but cant quite remember who they were or where she even came from. most of her memories are muscle memory, which is why she remembers how to make music and such

Ahato cant hear anything around her-- she wont become out-right aggressive when approached like most sanitized octos are, but she will be a little jittery and on-guard

2022

im not really prepared to say too much about Ahato/Acht here bc of how little we know about her role in side order as of writing this (1/7/2024)

Paul has mostly moved on from trying to find Ahato, while he does wish they could be reunited, a lot of his memories of that time have become fuzzy... he wouldnt be able to recognize her face if he saw it.

Ahato's dress got ripped when she first left kamabo (which was a few months after octo expansion)-- she found some red thread to stitch it up and lace up her shoes! :D

on that note, the addition of more red in her design is to symbolize how more and more memories of her life are resurfacing-- same thing with being able to see her eye on her visor

also her eye is supposed to look like a turret from portal lol

Paul regularly commutes from inkopolis to splatsville-- i think he went crazy for the alterna tracks when they were first recovered lol

in chip's flashback. the black rose pirates following the king to the big sakura tree, and arlin holding baby chip's hand. this. the cutest shit ever, i think i almost cried at the image of this big badass group of pirates and this itty bitty child led gently by his hand. even if i didn't cry before i sure will right now, baby chip you're so dear to me...

whatever drey, finn and earl are doing on the ship... like, what? hello? glad they're having fun tho lol. also wait hold on a second. how did drey answer the call? i mean, probably with his leg or something, if i had to guess. or maybe finn held it up for him. not sure if finn is at it enough to be able to answer the shell by himself, so earl and drey are the only ones who can actually use it. and seing how earl is in a... predicament. hm.

oh my god niklaus, how could i forget about my babygirl. i mean, what can i say i love this guy. i dont know how many times ive relistened to his intro song, but definitely more than i should've... um. there was a lot of big important lore that i don't have the brain capacity to process rn.... i want to say that niki is the nameless prince and/or the thing trapped in the hole in the sea. because he can only interact with one person at a time by inviting them to his pocket dimension (even with jay it was said that the time around her stopped while she was talking with niklaus), implying that niki is trapped somewhere and this is the only constricted way he can interact with the world. and to answer chip's questions he said he wants freedom more than anything, again implying that right now he doesn't have this freedom. which makes sense, right? but then, the big bad thing was supposedly trapped thousands of years ago (i think?), but niklaus was a world famous pirate lord not so long ago and not trapped anywhere, so.....? idk im probably missing something. can't for the life of me find the moment where they read the nameless prince book so like, whatever.

that moment where jay talked to chip about how she thinks its all her fault and she should've just gave up her arm and leg. and how chip reassures her....... them 🥺🤲 kind of inspired by that post abt chip and jay i reblogged earlier, but these two talking about their emotions and feelings is so dear to me. just, being human with each other and opening up. gill is great ofc, but i feel like for these two its much easier to talk to each other to feel understood and heard. i love them.....

chip is still very much dead and probably won't be resurrected any time soon, so... hooray new undead chip design! but also oh my god my poor boy... forever 19... He's definitely dropped hundreds of hours into "creature crossing" with one of those islands with tons of customization and cute shit, and his "island creatures" are mostly cats with a couple dogs and the pegasus LMAO

Also while he's not directly inspired by any specific character, since he's in Ignihyde he does have a little Greek mythos theming and has some inspiration from Eros, which is also why he's very "love" themed/romantic

yuno and kazui are biologically related: my dissection of kashiki-mukuhara also huge shouts out to @nikoberry who helped me put this theory together! for ease of reading, yuno's information will be on the left side of this post, with kazui's information on the right- to the best of my ability. sources are linked best i can

disclaimer: i dont know how canon it is that the prisoners experience memory loss of their lives & parts of their murders before milgram, but this theory works best under that assumption

01. Age

to start off, it is not far-fetched that kazui could be yuno's biological father, as he would have been ~21 when yuno was born

02. Design

milgram character designs are made with a lot of intent and deliberation, the characters in the main cast look very different from one another, though yuno and kazui have a few key details that tie them together

note 1. posing; yuno and kazui are both posed in very similar ways for each of their trials. for trial 2: they seem excited, greeting you with a wave or acknowledging you wtih a nod for trial 1, they seem relaxed, but prepared. theyre meeting us for the first time, warmly, but not exposing who they are just yet

note 2. hair; these two have a handful of similarities with their hair. their hair color looks to be the same, but tinted with their respective colors they also have their bangs cut similarly, cut just under the eyebrow, a straight edge on their right side, with their hair parting on the left side

note 3, facial structure; both have a more "straight faces" (more noticeable in yuno's t2), coy smiles, and droopy/soft eyes

kazui mentions himself having a child out of the blue, and quickly dismisses it. muu does not comment on this in the full timeline, so it could be that he is talking to himself. but why?

kazui's next song is titled "cat," and yuno's t2 video, tear drop, has very VERY brief flashes of cat imagery used for her

there is a great comparison that @dearmahiru has made for their respective t2 song artwork! though, i would also like to point out that their doors are made with a very very similar wood (re: the significance of the kanji used for their names)

the only prisoner thus far with a somewhat similar door to these two would be haruka

though the wood finish is almost entirely smooth, with hardly any visible grain, unlike yuno and kazui, who have woodgrain very visible on their doors. haruka's door is also not curved at the top

i was mostly going to note that he says "float" in this translation, which corresponds to yuno's balloon imagery however, i started looking into the potential symbolism behind chairs and..

im know there are more well put-together and stronger supported theories than this one, but it's my first full theory ive come up with on my own, and im just excited to share it! at the very least, it's a fun headcanon, and i will also go ballistic if it gets confirmed

i am admittedly very fascinated by kips gear design (so much so in fact that i straight up asked him if we could ever hear process or design notes about it lmao), so i had some of my own thoughts honestly

im gonna make this in chronological order cause its easier to explain the reasoning that way, so i hope it makes sense but

so we have to go back to the last of the superbad designs first

i cannot for the life of me find a photo of the backside of the gear, but i literally rewatched arcade anarchy for research for this as thats one match i can name from the top of my head where he wears this, and it holds no relevancy (apart from the 'superbad' text on the ass) to what im gonna talk about later, so

but yeah.. i have no explanation for this design choice tbh lol. im pretty sure most of this was just "because he liked the colors and it looked cool", its mostly an aesthetic choice afaik. which, admittedly, it is. its really fucking pretty. the only thing i can say from the top of my head is the drip effect on the top of the tights, as that was in some previous superbad shorts, so thats a recycled thing (and will continue to be, so its good to point out here). likewise the non-matching kneepads, tho interestingly enough the side of the one with images changes as we move on, which. i'll talk about a bit later

i just wanted to point this one out cause it has some elements that keep on appearing later, and also cause its pretty. longboy supremacy 💜

moving onto the return/boxman gear

the boxman gear holds up some of the old design choices - the different kneepads, the drip effect, at this point he also had mismatching kickpads which i found extremely interesting (especially after realizing this was a repeat design choice. like if you look at them, the right one has a light pattern on it but the left one doesnt. and then compare those to the superbad kickpads. same thing). and yeah the superbad text still remains on the ass, which i find kinda funky considering he literally right up to the reveal of this new look went around ripping into his old self so. hmm. tho this is a point im gonna bring up in the collective thoughts later, so put a pin on it

but. theres a few things i wanna focus on here. mainly the clearly toned down color scheme - the more wine red, black and white is clearly toned down from whatever that aesthetic mess was before. but it works, especially later with the colored hair. i dont know the significance of it apart from him just really liking those colors so he wanted to use them (which i believe he has mentioned off-hand before so im just pulling this from my memory idk), but im mentioning them now to talk about it later a bit more when we get to the current design

also the big head on the side. this is more relevant later, again, with how it changes from design to design, but its interesting to see that despite moving on from his "previous self", hes still carrying that image with him. sure its a bit more updated, but the base for the superbad is there and used for it. like i get it that its a logo thing, but still. it sure is a choice

and thennnnn the kneepads. cause this is where i feel like the interesting shit starts (before we move on to current look which is what really prompted this whole thought process). see, there used to be a kip head there. now its a question mark. which has been imagery he used a lot during the boxman era both before and after his return, even to the point where there was a question mark on the back of the box (with the word 'back', yes, but the question mark was still very much there. omnipresent, if you will, as was the boxman himself). it feels like a nod about forgetting, abandoning to your old self and searching for something new, searching for yourself again. to me this looks like a sign of 'who am i/who was i' type of deal, like its such a deliberate choice of where its put - and yes i know the knees change between this and the previous design, but i feel like the point still stands. even more so with the swapped knee tbh, being so lost trying to find yourself you make mistakes. i know this is a reach but bear with me lmao

I ALSO ACTUALLY HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE KICKPADS CAUSE I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING

look at this. look at it. so i mentioned before that the different patterning on the kickpads, right? well its only on the right side. which is also the only side with the drip effect on it. and look at the kickpad. the pattern shows better in the ddt photo lighting, but what does that look like? its kinda like a blood splatter. and knowing at this point in time, for this character, kip was doing character studies and consuming media etc. about characters that were most often serial killers or otherwise similarly deranged... yeah baby this is a nod to that you cant tell me otherwise!!

and then some choices i just wanna mention cause i think they're interesting but i have no fucking idea what they mean or why they are there lmao. apart from the 'time changes us all' text on the right side, thats pretty obvious (and plays to everything else ive pointed out so far actually) as well as the fact that instead of a few selected fingers, he started taping almost all of them (wedding band my beloved). that one i know he has mentioned was an aesthetic choice cause he liked it (also it might have something to do with him previously having dislocated a finger mid match sssooooo)

but anyways

i just really wanna talk about the lacing of the kickpad. yeah, just the one. cause i really dont know why, but im completely in love with the asymmetry of this design choice, its very similar to the one patterned kneepad. its also made into a more obvious one as time goes on i think, cause its barely visible in the return match at all in zero hour, but just few months down the line its fully visible and you can even see it in the promo pictures, the bow end of it just dangling about. i just honestly think its really cute, but also relevant to, again, the current design so im gonna talk about it more later

..and then i just offhand wanted to mention. this. cause i dont know what the fuck this is or why its a choice in this design but. it is. so here you go have fun lmao

(like in speculation i had a quick thought that MAYBE its trying to match pennys new gears garter belt style, as its just about the same spot, and since they did kinda matching styled gear? but thats literally all i got. i got so distracted by this fucking thing and i have no idea what it is. i hate it now, thats all i know lmao) anyways, moving on! current design yay!!

so what i find the most interesting here, compared to the two others, is lack of color. honestly i think the grayscale works wonderfully with the rest of the design choices as well as his current look, but seeing him go from the previously colored design to this just sparked a thought in me.. tho idk how much of that actually plays into this design choice, considering this was done before he started the transition more away from what the boxman had become with the 'underrated and over it' gimmick and hes moving towards a much more confident version of himself again (sex idol, anyone?), but hes trying to prove something here. less flash in design, more flash in character, if that makes sense. also, classic villain look, black and white and cheesy blond 80s hair. i love him

the drips are also to the minimum now for some reason, and the splat pattern on the kickpad is gone. which is sad cause i really loved that detail, but again, minimalism, more classical and clean look. it still works, but i miss it. i also just like it how all the text is easier to look now, while that font just has the creep vibes. this whole set up feels like a homage to old black and white horror movies tbh, now that i think about it which i absolutely would not put past him

whichhhhh leads us to the first big point i wanted to make with this one - the mask on the side that now entirely replaces the previous kip heads. he very briefly brought it up as part of the two episode stint they did in ddt in february this year with penny, and there was like a single photoshoot in aew with it

and then it was never brought up again. which i believe is cause kip said once that he was waiting for a good opportunity and a longer storyline to bring it out for its full potential. which, sadly never happened as i believe he has now plans to move on from it (and possibly return to the box? we shall see, but thats what he said he wanted to do, so), but i find it interesting that its chosen as the new logo to replace the original kip head on the tights, but yet the box logo design remains on both the front and the back of the jacket (which i didnt bring up here as while i love the design, it holds no relevancy in these cases im talking about here, apart from this one) and the actual mask is never seen on screen

the second thing i wanna talk about is the text on the back. previous two designs have said 'superbad', this one says 'the gallery' - for uninformed, this was(/is?) the unofficial team name of kip, butcher, blade, bunny and penelope. although i believe they are more or less now coining the name 'deadly alliance', but since neither is official... anyways, i just wanna point it out that hes moving on from singling and acknowledging himself only, and moving more into team territory here, which is an interesting touch. especially for someone who can often be viewed as a mastermind behind the things he makes his little henchmen do. hmmm (i could talk about this alliance forever but im gonna spare you, let it just be known that i dont think they are on as equal standings within this group as they might let you believe or think themselves lmao. like kip is obviously leading this bunch of killers but thats a whole another tangent. its just an interesting thought in the relation to him now having a team name on the gear [especially when in the meantime both butcher and blade i believe just have their names SO])

and finally! the actual thing that made me wanna write this whole four fucking hours long operation!! the color splash details!!!

these. the lacing. its the only colorful thing in these pants and it has sparkled so many thoughts in me god. like i obviously see how these were easy to recycle from the previous design (although they are different laces so. theres also that. which makes this an even more deliberate choice), and keeping the colors consistent by making the two similar pieces the same color. this also can be tied together to the horror movie theme still, as while we lack blood splatters overall, we do have these here. in red. which i feel like is an important detail

i do want to, however, talk about why i thought this was so important and what it sparked in me. now, this might be the part where im fucking reaching and reading too much into this, but.. in this transition towards something new and something else, few former pieces remain, although they change along the way. the kneepads are still similar, the pants are still pinstriped, the red laces are there, the kickpads are similar, minor changes to some of the designs, etc.. the basics are the same, but it swaps to new things over time, as we move on

so you see. hes embracing it. hes moving on. hes changing. little by little, things are different, but hes making the active role in accepting it and making them happen. hes still the same old underneath, just the perception to outside and how its viewed is different. the patterns change. the colors change. the names, the phrases, the looks. they all change, hes embracing it, but it all comes down to the same old, because thats the thing; even if youre moving on, you cant forget your roots. cause whats the other, a bit lesser known saying?

hiii!! i wanted to start by saying that i LOVE with a passion your writing and fics, literally changed my life ong i dont know if you're currently taking requests or writing for lyney (or any fontaine characters for that matter) but i theres this idea that has been taking over my brain with lyney and him as a sub. (that said, feel free to ignore this if you aren't as familiar with his character and don't feel comfortable enough writing him)

just bear with me here for a second, so we all know that lyney is overprotective with his siblings and presents himself as a reliable person and hides behind his charming and onstage persona (i LOVE the fortress of meropide act where we can actually see farther into his character other than "flirty and charming magician" i also liked how lyney acted after his trial when he and lynette were talking w the traveler as an honorable mention)

then, we can see two versions of him, the version that is "lyney the magician", who was a way with words and is very skilled at deceiving people, flirty and suave he redirects a crowd's attention to focus only on the part (of himself) that he wants people to see. on the other side, we have a more "true" lyney, who is always protective for his siblings in fear that they are taken away from him again, he's impulsive but also genuine. a lyney that sometimes questions himself who he really is, after all of the masks and acts he has taken (character story 4), and also a lyney that wants to protect the home that arlecchino had given him and lynette when they were at their worst. (tbh him without his stage persona really comes off to me as "Im Trying ™")

(all seriousness aside, and this is just a headcanon, i could 100% see lyney in love in his room kicking his feet giddily and pacing around the room thinking of ways to romance his crush, just to go out and act all cool and suave like he wasnt just losing his shit for the last 2 hours) (or maybe im just projecting) (we will never know)

so, how does this play into flith?

imagine lyney having his first time w reader, he's not completely clueless because well, he's obviously an adult (and also this is lyney we're talking about. just look at his design.) i picture lyney overall (not just in sex) really good with theory, but when it comes to practice, he just falls apart.

another thing i also think would be at play is him learning to let go of his mask, of his responsibilities and just relax, let his brain turn into mush and his legs into jelly and let himself be fully naked (both physically and emotionally) in front of someone. how much he trusts his partner also is smth to be taken into account. i dont really see him as a one night stand type of guy.

then, i also think that his trauma with lynette's situation would also show, even though he isn't overly clingy with lynette, he always wants to be by her side, not only because theyre REALLY close but also because he subconsciously he wants to make sure that shes okay. A lot of people don't actually know this, but there was some really intense drama back then with Luciid and another Creepypasta creator who "revamped" Clockwork (mostly to ship with Ticci Toby).

When Luciid said he wasn't comfortable with that, the other creator made very disturbing art involving their stolen version of Clockwork, and Luciid's Clockwork, and took many hits at Luciids trauma.

They would say things like "Im shipping my OC with Clockwork and you guys can't hate on me cuz its a lesbian ship", which is why Luciid was so insistent on making it clear that Clockwork wasn't a lesbian. Cuz he wanted to create as much distance as possible from this creator purposely trying to make disturbing and triggering content against Luciid that included his own vent OC.

So, to answer your question, Luciid has said he's perfectly ok with people enjoying Clockwork, making art and stories regarding her, but he doesn't want people to revamp her, make her into their own character, etc, because last time that happened... Yknow...

This means that headcanons are completely ok as long as you acknowledge its not actually canon, and that it's still not your character. I personally think it’s not that nowadays Lando cares about Carlos less than Carlos does about him, I think it’s more about him getting fed up with repeated questions about his friendships with other drivers and with Carlos in particular, and actual journalists using these cringe words like ‘bromance’ and stuff, it’s annoying as fuck. hi, yes! good [timezone.] no worries, i'm very happy to answer questions & please forgive if my syntax is weird today, i have a chronic disability which causes some brain fog during flare-ups so my sentence structure might not be the most elegant. i WAS given a superpower to counter this (a disability which, for our purposes here, i will sum up as "it makes my vocabulary big") but for the sake of clarity i'll be responding with a bit of a shortened version of all of my thoughts so that it makes a little bit more sense. i can go more in-depth at a later time if needed

under the cut, summary:

What If jötnar are not nearly AS bad as a lot of the jötun art i've seen in fanon and canon so it gets a very hesitant green-light from me. and also the issue with putting jötnar in minimal clothes is that artists still tend to choose to dress them in clothing items that are associated with racist and offensive depictions of real-life people

+ some of my personal ideas about what jötnar might wear

the jötnar in What If do rely on some of the same antiblack and anti-american indigenous stereotypes that we see in the comics but their designs aren't NEARLY as caricature-y as the comic book designs are and they do a better job at making it look like something an alien would wear. still bad, but not NEARLY as bad as the comics, i'd give it a very hesitant green light

the main issue with jötnar being depicted in minimal clothing is that oftentimes, the artists choose clothing specifically related to these racist stereotypes to evoke imagery of the Assumed lifestyle of both the jötnar and the real life people who are affected by the stereotypes. this is an obviously satirical example because my brain isn't working well enough to think of a more genuine one, but it wouldn't be a problem if someone drew their jötnar to be running around in heart-print boxers pin-up posing, you know? the issue is largely that people make the choice to draw them in long sheer skirts draped with gold like orientalist stereotypes of women, or in loincloths and furs and bone piercings in their noses.

basically there are all sorts of ways to visually get across their cold immunity, and have them dressed minimally, without putting them in skirts and loincloths and stuff

and this is definitely more of a personal thing, but i don't Personally think it makes much sense to have jötnar dressed in minimal clothing even if they are immune to the cold. this is just because, snow still melts haha. so i don't think it makes too much logical sense to have them barefoot and without any sort of cloak to protect them from the weather. plus, light reflects off of snow and is known to give people sunburns, ao i like to cover up their skin too <- this however is all optional. it's fiction and it doesn't need to be really very practical it's just the sort of thing i enjoy thinking about so i wanted to share my thoughts

as for your question, i would say it ultimately comes down to what you want to do and what you personally find acceptable. it's already a great start that you're not jumping straight into it, and that you're choosing to make an informed decision. i'm not sure that i'm the best person to answer your question, but i'll tell you what i think..

everyone has a different experience coming into the fashion. i've heard many stories about beginners starting out with buying falsely advertised or replica dresses. back then, it was mostly milanoo but now i would say that's been replaced by aliexpress or amazon. many did so out of a mix of reasons (being more affordable, unknowingly doing so, being young are usually the top contributors to this) these usually end with regret, because the items are very low quality.

i'll clarify this by saying i mean replicas of dresses and prints, and not so much accessories. replicas of shoes and bags are a lot more acceptable within the community because it's not something you can really "copyright" like you can with a print design. replicas do harm the artist because the designs are stolen and resold. they don't profit from those sales. not only that, but you won't exactly be getting what you paid for either. 20dollarlolita on here has a very informative post on this topic, i'm not the greatest at putting this into words.

you're right in acknowledging that lolita fashion is niche compared to other styles, that's a big part of it. japanese brands producing lolita clothing are a lot smaller than we think (and for indie brands, even smaller!!) many of them have been closing recently due to a lack of sales or not being able to keep up with production. buying replicas or settling for fast fashion funnels money into producing more low quality mass produced items, instead of supporting brands that need sales to keep up with producing higher quality items that take more money and time to make.

i'm not too educated on what the taxes are like for other countries, so i can't really help you on that front. i don't know what that's like at all, i only really know how expensive shipping from japan can be.

i recommend secondhand brand items because they could be found at affordable prices without a loss in quality. secondhand items on lace market can be very affordable with patience and catching good deals, this is where i started and i highly recommend it. you'll find even better deals on damaged items, and many of them will be easy fixes with a bit of TLC. the easiest fixes are usually color bled items, yellowed lace from sun damage or age, loose buttons, and stains. shipping prices could be more manageable if you filter it to sellers from your country rather than dealing with international shipping costs.

items on taobao are also quite fairly priced from what i've heard, but i don't have any experience with it so i'm afraid i can't help you more..

personally, i didn't start wearing lolita until i was financially able to do so.. and that wasn't for a long time! i'm not sure how old you are but i was very young and my family wasn't in the best position either when i discovered the fashion. on the bright side, waiting is what allowed me more time for researching and making better decisions.

I don't have much to say for like 7 of them other than that they're nice, and for top 3 that they're really cool, so I added a bit of headcannon stuff in the mix.

Lets go from bottom to top.

Skip: he's pretty cool in my opinion. A lot of my family members are in construction or something and yeah. His pet rat is cool. I dont have much to say for him, he's nice.

Ninjoy: her actual name being a part of it is nice. I find her cool and yeah don't have much to say. She's cool, however I do think that she and Dynamoe take too much of the spotlight (Dynamoe especially, plus other characters) which makes other characters not being noticed a lot or not getting a lot of content being made for them, kinda sucks for people who like more obscure characters or ones that deserve more attention.

Alberto: I just kinda like him a lot. He's one of the first characters I liked a lot and the first male character I liked.

Yuko: when I first saw her, I really loved her. She reminds me of some characters from other media I like. Her being Prudence's mom was something I didn't expect at all.

James: at first I didn't care for him but after a while he's really grown on me. In my headcannon, he does have trauma, but it doesn't affect him at all, as he kinda doesn't remember that much and isn't as big as an impact or had any other bad experience and is normal, which is basically the opposite with Mary, which I'll get to. Also what's the thing that makes him so mischaracterized so much? I kinda don't know.

Willow: she's really nice and i like her design. In my headcannon I thought of her as not being really social and some other things that I might explain, then with the help of James she can express herself more, which makes their friendship stronger.

Scooter: one of the first characters I really loved when I first saw her. I don't have a lot to say.

Penny: the first character I loved. Her design might be simple compared to others but that doesn't make her bad at all. She's the food loving girl who is in every game that is one of the most popular, would be my favorite if it weren't for these 2 existing.

Mary: OK, so Mary is probably the character I probably give the most deep headcannons for. If she never had experienced those times, she would just be like James. She has conflicting thoughts on if she does want to know the mystery behind her biological parents, is it better to find out, or is it not? She and James most likely would be total wrecks, but could've they changed? We will most likely never know. But what if I threw another thing at her? High school was one of her worst experiences, she was constantly made fun of (mostly for her weight) and gotten beaten up, however it got better in the end, as they got expelled and someone mysterious protected her. In the end, she tries to cover it, but at any really bad moment, might break. So, she masks it up by being the nice and sweet person who's silly and goofy one. Now that I think of it she's kinda like Kel from Omori. Anyways that's just the most basic explanation on her headcannon backstory.

Oh yeah she's cool asf and paints stuff, plays the bagpipes, has 2 pugs and is kinda scared of sailing. Despite all that she isn't my favorite.

Sue: this is my favorite character, I just really like her, now for some headcannon stuff. I don't have as much backstory for her, other than that somewhere between leaving school and getting her job, she got a glow up or something and was always had anger issues, that's all for backstory I have right now, but I have other things. Despite her mean side, many people only focus on that and not the true side, someone who actually cares if you're nice. There's also the questioning her sexuality thing (spoilers ig, but she's a lesbian so thats solved) and some other struggles I don't know about yet. But yeah she's awsome 11/10

POST STR... its all to the max. takane is overly aware of everything. all 5 senses are as much of a nightmare as they are a relief and it's all mixed together!!!!

ok her sensory needs that she already had pre ene are still there but completely amped up, except the personal space one. now everyone is always too close and literally just opening her eyes (HEH!! ON THE OTHER HAND.... it suddenly goes on the opposite end. like for a few days she's nightmare overstim city and then she's SUPER understim and COMPLETELYYYYY over eager about having a body and horribly indulges in like. overeating and running around <- overeating (especially when u usually avoid eating), awful for ur tummy. running a lot when u have chronic pains, also awful for ur pains later. sooo nothing she wont pay the price for later. it needs to get pointed out to her she needs to find a balance and cant have all or nothing (by haruka probably)

the personal space thing comes back here like she gets So touchy and needs hug or death. i think she can be all happy hugging haruka and all of a sudden pushes him away and is like WHOA I NEED TO GET OUT OF MY BODY RIGHT NOW MAYBE RIP MY SKIN OFF TOO MAYBE so it's rly like a light switch all of a sudden she can get overwhelmed with it and revert. like jumping back and forth between seeking and avoiding sensation.

also post str takane To Me also has mobility issues like haruka does bc all her muscles are atrophied from yknow Not moving for 2 years so it's like, even more that she has to deal with. physical therapy is incredibly invasive to her too so it's extra difficult. i think haruka and her do it together and that's why haruka is so on top of what's going on with her, he's the closest and sees her whenever she's the most vulnerable. also their situations are So similar they cant help just gravitating to each other for support. i also think haruka's the one to always point out to her when she's overindulging like Hey i love that ur rly enjoying that bigmac but i can already see you wanting to rip out ur organs later tonight so maybe dont eat a third one.

anyways ermmm takane's biggest challenge is Stop resorting to opening eyes whenever it gets too bad. like i also got sensory issues and assuming whoever is reading also does imagine having the option to just Jump out of ur body when its feeling Awful. ofc ur gonna take it when ur feeling like that. but it doesn't help takane to do it. while it helps her to calm down, it's not good in the long run. she actively wants a PHYSICAL life and work on all this. takane never wanted to die and is super motivated to get better but it's not quick or easy!!! eventually she finds a good balance i think. she's still a rly touchy person who hates grabbing her phone directly without the sleeves in the middle and will only eat like 3 things❤️ but also a hug lover❤️

Hey, so I can't guarantee that I'll catch it at just the right time, which is why I wanted to ask you to please make another list of theories, questions and predictions when arc 7 ends but before arc 8 begins. You don't have to, it's just that I really like that part (specifically the Interlude) and I would love to see your predictions. You also haven't done one of those in a while.

ok here we goooo lets see what i can come up with

in light of the ending to the interlude, armsmaster makes a blunder while fighting the endbringer in an attempt to make himself look better and keep his current position. taylor/the undersiders end up fixing things (as well as they can)

brockton bay will get so fucked up during this conflict that the preexisting power structures are mostly thrown out the window (for example: coil doesnt hold as much power as he does now, making it easier for the undersiders to drop him). would be a good chance for the undersiders to rise up and affirm themselves as an independent group or align themselves with someone more patable (who even?)

alternatively, coild ends up holding all the power, and the undersiders feel coerced into accepting his proposal

faultline introduced the idea of a second trigger event a while ago. this could also be a chance for that to happen to one of our blorbos

related to the above, we could be witness to someone's first trigger event

about the endbringers, i get the feeling theyre more akin to natural disasters than "intelligent" beings (they probably have some degree of intelligence as they seem to pick their targets). maybe theyre kaijuus lol

people will die. its about time people start dying. dont know who, i dont think any of our kids will die (at least not so early on) but maybe some established heroes/villains

now moving on to the Thing hana saw for a sec

she said it feels like its dying, and also that its moving with a purpose. she also later says that she has thought of the idea that it could exist with no concept of the effect it has on mankind due to how big it is and how inconsequential humans are in comparison.

for now i want to propose that it does know what it's doing, although it likely doesnt understand or care how it affects people, and whatever it's doing is with the purpose of somehow helping it not die.

i'll bring up the incubators from pmmm: they created the magical girl system in an effort to battle entropy (delay the heat death of the universe). it's a harmful and coercive system, it creates constant suffering by design, and they deem it to be necessary.

they dont understand emotions and cant produce any, but theyre the only thing powerful enough to produce the necessary energy required for their purposes, so they take advantage of middle school girls and outsource the process to them instead.

i think this could be a similar situation where the Thing(s?) granting humans powers is doing this out of self interest, harnessing some quality of humanity in return that it can use to delay its death.

maybe whatever the endbringers are also originate from it? the destruction they cause generates more trigger events, more people awaken powers, they get more of what they need from humans (akin to the witch system in pmmm) and they target vulnerable places to make this process easier and more fruitful.

another iswm theory

Im currently sick right now so forgive me if my grammar and spelling isn't up to par.

anywho, a few days ago, i recorded myself ranting about a theory i had about ISWM, and it ended up being about 40 minutes long. Everytime i thought about it, i ended up with more information that i would hope helped my theory.

that being said, ill get right onto it, no dilly dallying (i was supposed to type this out earlier before iswm p2 so forgive me)

anywho,

there is my theory on why In Space with Markiplier is a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game designed by Darkiplier.

ACT 1: Signs of Darkiplier's Influence

Section 1.1 Colour Pallets Throughout the Invincible II, we see the colour choices of Red and Blue. An obvious paralell to Darkiplier, and by extension, Damien and Celine.

Section 1.2: An Actor run story. You might be asking: "If ISWM is a Darkiplier run story, then what's an Actor Mark run story?" Lets compare Actor Mark from WKM to the leading Marks from Date, Heist, and Space.

Actor Mark could be described as egotistical and narcissistic. He is self-centered on playing the role of a hero, and often values his appearance.

We can connect Date Markiplier and Heist Markiplier to the Actor, as they have been shown to reflect the same characteristics as Actor Mark.

Space Mark however, does not show any of these characteristics. Sure he shows pride in the Invincible II, but he built the damn thing, its natural to be proud of the ship you swear will not break. For that reason, we can imply that Space Mark is not the Actor, however that is still up to debate.

Section 1.3: If ISWM Mark isnt the Actor, then who is he? This one, I do not know. However I did see this theory on Tumblr the other day, how ISWM Mark arguing with Celci is more like siblings fighting. And while after watching MatPat's theory on ISWM P1, I still dont know who this Mark is. I will say ISWM Mark has respect for Celci and her expertise on Cyro. as seen by here:

It seems that ISWM Mark has a respect for Celci's job, just not how shes questioning his design choices for the Invincible. Which is justified, seeing as how much pride he takes in the ship.

What is also interesting to note is that while ISWM Mark does question our choices as the Captain, he ultimately resolves to believe that we have an underlying plan underneath and trusts us regardless. Compared to AHWM Mark or ADWM Mark, when we make decisions that he probably wouldnt want us to pick (like the true ending's path in ADWM where we choose to not end the date. He does not agree, but begrudgingly goes along with it. Ill get back to this later, but note the true endings of AHWM and ADWM.

Section 1.4: How Death is handled. In AHWM and ADWM, we see death being treated not as seriously compared to ISWM. In Heist, a death whether from a side character, Mark, us the y/n, or both of us at the same time. We mostly take it as just a minor inconvenience. You died as a zombie? Ok sure ig. Mark dies in a hole? Eh whatever.

In ISWM, there is an obvious tonal change from that line of thinking towards how death is being handled here.

In ISWM, we can see how your responsibility as captain was genuine. How people were counting on you to keep them safe. How you were given the choice to either take care of them, or lead them to death. We are berated for our bad choices and how they costed the lives of 10000+ peoples on board.

If you compare these two ideas, you can see how it paralells the Actor's line of thinking in WKM and Damien/Celine/Darkiplier's. If it were a story run by the Actor, it would probably reflect on it.

Also relating back to the last section, notice how ADWM and AHWM Mark handles death as compared to ISWM Mark, The first two are afraid yes, but ISWM Mark actually is terrified to die. Notice too how ISWM Mark gets hurt way more frequently and is upset about it. Meanwhile ADWM and AHWM they get hurt yes, but probably not on the same level as chucking ISWM Mark by the belt and throwing him to the wall.

Plus, the way we as the player handle death is also vastly different. We outright take off our hats in respect in one choice where we chuck ISWM Mark into ADS for the first time.

Section 1.5: The Self Insert Characters This section takes a bit from @the-dance-of-italy's puppet show theory. So Id highly recommend reading it first, as it does bring up good points and is a great theory.

So the-dance-of-italy's puppet show theory brings this up:

If we take into account the Actor run stories, then AHWM's Mark and ADWM's Mark are the Actors Self Insert Character to control us while also controlling the story.

If we take the idea of Dark running ISWM, then the question is: Does Dark have a self insert Character?

Yes, yes he does.

Enter Dorine Whittaker, and Celci F. Kelvina.

Dorine, like MatPat's theory states, is basically Celine from WKM. Im not going to delve deep into this, as many have made the connection. However the question remains as to what is her goal with being inside the story. The question which I don't know the answer to, given how aside from her appearances before the "Well now Im not doing it!" choice, all she does is bring upon the wormhole loop quicker.

However in the "Well now Im not doing it!" ending does bring a recurring saying which I will get to later.

ACT 2: How?

Section 2.1: True Endings. So, we got through the signs that Darkiplier's running ISWM. (or at least i hope i did, the recording i did was when i was very scatterbrained and im sick right now so it might not make sense)

Now we gotta get to the how.

Consider the Markiplier Cinematic/Connected Universe for a moment: Who Killed Markiplier, A Heist With Markiplier, A Date With Markiplier, In Space With Markiplier.

If you take AHWM and ADWM, there is only one canon ending. Lets look through them.

In AHWM, we steal a box (which has a crystal that looks suspiciously like the one we got in ISWM) that causes the timeline to split apart, creating all the different endings. We meet Dark in one ending where we go against Mark when he suggests to split up. He tells us he's took notice of the parallel universes and sends us back to find his clues.

I wont go through all his lines, but ill put up a picture of the subtitles and highlight key parts that i will go over in the next section:

Eventually we end on the canon ending where the paradox was not us, but the box itself. After destroying it, the splitting timelines close and we end up back at the start of AHWM with no knowledge of the other paths, and go right onto ADWM.

In ADWM, we go on a Date with Markiplier. We have another Darkiplier ending which is cool but what's interesting to note is that the canon ending is weird.

The canon ending to ADWM is Mark suggesting we exit the building to continue the date. However, an option makes itself known where we can continue the date. (Note too, how that's one of the rare choices you could take that isn't explicitly given by mark. Sure he says we can leave, and for a short period of time, that's the only choice we have.

Yet, we realize we can continue the date. And in choosing that, Mark, who begrudgingly goes along with, follows you until...

WILLLLLLLLLFORDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Ahem anyways.

We meet Wilford in the canon ending, who talks to us in this swirly void. And bare in mind, getting to that wacky void required that glitch we havent seen in any other MCU related game. (as far as im aware of, if im wrong please correct me on this)

Wilford does not know who we are, and asks us if we knew who we are.

Now I wont go through everything he says, ill put a picture of his lines and highlight important parts of it. I will go over them in the next section:

Now... what does this all mean?

Section 2.2: Notice me Senpai Lets start with AHWM.

If you notice what I highlighted, you will see the repeating trend of "Games", "Stories", and "repeating".

Much like Wilford in Wilford Motherloving Warfstache, We can assume that Dark, much like Wilford, can exist outside of the story. Like how Wilford can insert himself into The Detectives Noir-esque world and inside AHWM.

So, if we take that into consideration, and the fact that Dark knew how we were in a game made by the Actor, Dark could of knew we were stuck in the Actor's game.

Now lets go through ADWM.

Wilford asks us who we are, and in the end we are shown to be Chica?

What if that was the Actor trying to regain control of the story?

Cause consider, if you will, how we get to see WIlford in his spirally void. Its through this Netflix lookin' ass type multiverse inception based ass visual glitch (if you pardon my swearing) We have never seen that Glitch before, as far as im aware, and could probably show how that sequence is different from the majority of ADWM. Also too that before the spiral void gains colour, its in gray scale much like Darkiplier.

What's also interesting to note is that the "That you are not what you think you are?" line has been said in ISWM.

Who?

Miss Whittacre, in the "well now im not doing it!" ending

Now I pose another question: Why would Wilford try to help us remember?

Section 2.3: Wilford, WAIA, and WMLW If we are going under the presumption that we, Y/N, are also the DA in WKM. Then this raises some interesting points.

In Wilford Motherloving Warfstache, we see Abe the Detective from WKM hunting down Wilford in a club. After apprehending him and bringing him back to his office, Abe goes to interrogate him. However Wilford causes him to question the reality of his world, and even appolegizes to him for what he's done to him. Suddenly Abe remembers his fate from WKM and wonders how. Wilford gets him to loosen up, and we end with a dance party.

And in Warfstache Automatic Interview Automaton, we witness a broken Warfstache robot ask us some questions before we get to one question we have to answer.

"A man goes to a party. This man met an old friend. The two friends shared some wine. The two friends played a game - the most dangerous game. I didn't know the gun was loaded. I didn't know. Was it my fault? Was it?"

We are given two options, YES or NO.

if no, we hear this before the robot corrects itself: "You can't change the past. You can tell all the stories you want to tell. It won't change what happened. You can't rewrite the past. If you live in fantasy forever, you'll lose yourself in the story."

If yes, we hear this before the robot corrects itself: "I'm sorry for everything that I've done. I don't remember who I was. I wish I did. But, I am sorry."

This shows that Wilford, despite not being able to remember his life as William J Barnum, remembers the guilt he felt after we, Damien, Celine, and Abe died.

The difference between the Actor's way of dealing with the event vs Warfstache's, is by ignoring it. Making a story where he is the hero, and ignoring everything else. Doesn't matter if people die because of it. While Warfstache, even though he can't remember anything of the event, chooses to accept his faults, ask for forgiveness, and move on.

Section 2.4: Why is he doing this? If you consider how Dark meets you in AHWM calmly, then tries to get you back in ADWM, we could assume that ISWM is his way of trying to get us away from the Actor.

Consider if you will, how Dark tries to get you out of Heist because you are looking for answers. In ADWM, he's upset because doing that did not work at all, so he gets Wilford to do it for him. This is shown by the grayscale before the colour at the Canon End of ADWM.

So in order to get you away from the Actor, to let you know that staying with him was a bad idea, he makes a story where you are placed with loads of responsibility.

10000+ colonists in your care, plus the crew, and humanity back on earth. All trusting you with the Invincible II. When you fail, your reminded about how your actions have consequences. You feel guilty.

And note too, how some of the problems are caused by Engineer Mark for his bad design. Sure it does get you to safety sometimes, in the grand scheme of the multiverse, theres still a good percentage of universes where theres floating bodies in space stuck in wormholes. Pretty important.

Now. This next section is less theory and more predictions.

ACT 3: ISWM Part2

Section 3.1: What happens to the Actor? I believe that the Actor is going to be struggling to get back control of the story. Maybe that's how we get the Engineer Mark slap from Celci, as there can be an obvious tonal change from Engineer Mark to Actor Mark.

We are going to see him grasp how he is losing control, mayhaps we see him own up to the consequences of his actions.

Section 3.2: What happens to Darkiplier? I believe that Dark is going to end up challenging the Actor in some way. (much like Matpat's video on ISWM p1) I don't know how, but I do believe we will end up learning about who we really are from him.

Section 3.3: What happens to Wilford? This one is a bit more sad I suppose.

Wilford will remember at some point, he did say he was going to be in Part 2 with a well acted out scene. He is going to remember being the Colonel and perhaps help us in stopping the actor. Who knows.

ACT 4: FINAL WORDS

Yes I know that last act was a bit lackluster, honestly idk what might happen in ISWM p2. But honestly with whatever happens ill be happy with.

This has been a wild thing to type out (especially since im writing this with covid rn) so i hope yall can get some of my theory and make a better one with it.
